3 | Craig Lawrence Kilborn (born August 24, 1962) is an American comedian, sports and political commentator, actor, and TV host. |

5 | He began a career in sports broadcasting in the late 1980s, leading him to anchor Creator/{{ESPN}}'s ''Series/SportsCenter'' from 1993 to 1996. However, he is best known for having the misfortune of being subject to a case of ThePeteBest ''twice'', as he was the first host of ''Series/TheDailyShow'', from 1996 to 1998, before Creator/JonStewart's [[Series/TheDailyShowWithJonStewart iconic run with the show]], and later was the host of ''Series/TheLateLateShow'' from 1999 to 2004, before Creator/CraigFerguson's [[Series/TheLateLateShowWithCraigFerguson own iconic run with the show]].[[note]]Though at least in the latter case, Kilborn shares this position with ''The Late Late Show'''s original host from 1995 to 1998, Tom Snyder.[[/note]] Critics have noted that this is quite unfortunate, as Kilborn himself was quite charismatic as a host on both shows. However, he's claimed that he left both shows on his own accord and is not bitter about the aftermath. |
