Craig Lawrence Kilborn (born August 24, 1962) is an American comedian, sports and political commentator, actor, and TV host.
He began a career in sports broadcasting in the late 1980s, leading him to anchor ESPN's Sports Center from 1993 to 1996. However, he is best known for having the misfortune of being subject to a case of The Pete Best twice, as he was the first host of The Daily Show, from 1996 to 1998, before Jon Stewart's iconic run with the show, and later was the host of The Late Late Show from 1999 to 2004, before Craig Ferguson's own iconic run with the show.note Critics have noted that this is quite unfortunate, as Kilborn himself was quite charismatic as a host on both shows. However, he's claimed that he left both shows on his own accord and is not bitter about the aftermath.
