4Albert Finney (9 May 1936 – 7 February 2019) was an English actor. He was born in Salford, Lancashire and educated at Tootal Drive Primary School, Salford Grammar School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His acting career began in the theatre while he was still attending RADA, and subsequently expanded to include television roles ([[BreadEggsBreadedEggs along with television broadcasts of stage plays]]).

6His first film role was in ''Theatre/TheEntertainer'', but his breakout role was in ''Film/SaturdayNightAndSundayMorning''. After this, his career continued for fifty six years across television, film, and theatre; his last role was in the Film/JamesBond film ''Film/{{Skyfall}}''. During this period, he earned a pile of Academy Award nominations, BAFTA nominations (two wins), Golden Globe nominations (3 wins), Tony Award nominations (four wins), and Emmy awards (one win).

8Finney was married at various times to Jane Wenham, Anouk Aimée, and Pene Delmage.

10He battled kidney cancer since his diagnosis in 2006, and retired from acting after 2012 due to poor health. Albert Finney ultimately died of a chest infection in 2019.
