Following the [[Film/ThePhantomMenace Battle of Naboo]], many star systems grew tired of the corruption in the [[Characters/StarWarsRiseOfTheEmpireEraRepublic Galactic Republic]] and organized themselves into a Separatist movement under the former Jedi and secret Sith Lord Count Dooku. As the Confederacy of Independent Systems, they would eventually fight in the Clone Wars against the Republic, unaware they were pawns to the enigmatic Darth Sidious.

A Dark Jedi in service to Count Dooku, Ventress initially appears as Durge's partner in crime. She goes onto become one of the most feared Separatist commanders of the war, and a constant enemy of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Contains examples of her before her depiction in ''The Clone Wars''.
----
* AlasPoorVillain: According to AllThereInTheManual, while Obi-Wan was in exile on Tatooine, he found desert flowers and dedicated them to the memory of Ventress.
%%* BaldOfEvil:
* BashBrothers: With Durge. The two are a very formidable and dangerous team, capable of matching Obi-Wan and Anakin's duo and killing many Jedi.
* BrokenBird: To the point where fixing her is not an option.
* BullyingADragon: While searching for Quinlan Vos and Obi-Wan on Coruscant, she falls on Anakin watching a holographic message from Padme. She then taunts Anakin about hunting down and killing Padme, pushing him to his limit while duelling him until Anakin reaches his RageBreakingPoint and uses his Force powers to brutally overpower her and restrain and torture her with electric cables before making her fall from a very high height, leaving her for dead.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Initially Ventress was portrayed exactly the same way that Durge was--as a madwoman who got off on killing everything she met. Later authors gave her more sympathetic traits, resulting in her becoming a more identifiable (if still evil) character.
* DarkActionGirl: A Dark Jedi, lieutenant to Dooku, and a very skilled and dangerous lightsaber duelist capable of taking on Anakin and Obi-Wan and killing many Jedi.
* TheDragon: As the leader of the Dark Jedi and one of the war's most prominent Separatist commanders, Ventress was Dooku's single most important agent following the death of Jango Fett and prior to the rise of General Grievous.
* DualWielding: She dual-wields lightsabers.
* TheGhost: She's mentioned throughout ''The Dark Lord Trilogy'' [[note]] ''Literature/LabyrinthOfEvil'', ''Literature/RevengeOfTheSith'', and ''Literature/DarkLordTheRiseOfDarthVader'' [[/note]], set at the tail-end and immediate aftermath of the Clone Wars, but she never appears on page.
* HeroKiller: To the point where no single Jedi is allowed to engage her alone.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Creator/GreyDeLisle based Asajj's voice off of Music/EarthaKitt.
* ItsPersonal: With Obi-Wan Kenobi, who rapidly becomes her enemy of choice, after he took her deceased jedi master, Ky Narec,'s lightsaber.
* ThePowerOfHate: Fueled by rage towards the Jedi Order for abandoning her master.
* PutTheLaughterInSlaughter: Especially in her early appearances where she's constantly laughing while butchering Jedi.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler:Decides she just wants to get away from Count Dooku, the Jedi, the Separatists, and the war]].
* UsedToBeASweetKid: She once was a much more caring and compassionate individual as a child and teen, but the brutality of her world and the death of her master, Ky Narec, and the feeling that the Jedi Order had abandoned and betrayed him caused her to turn to the Dark Side.
* WeHaveReserves: Ventress has never met a trooper she wouldn't sacrifice to win.

* LightningBruiser: A brilliant tactician and military commander, she was also Force-sensitive. However, she would only serve a month in the Clone Wars before her death.
* OddNameOut: Her name does not match the Chiss naming convention. However, it's possible her name might've been "adapted" to fit, as her name is similar to ''Sev''[='=]eere'nuruodo, and Kung'urama'nuruodo's name became Nuru Kungurama.

A brutal bounty hunter in the employ of the Separatists, Durge has a hard-on for murder and no compunctions about who he does it to. He takes a particular delight in killing clones due to Jango Fett's reputation as the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, a title that Durge believes he himself deserves. His Gen'Dai physiology, coupled with his cybernetic enhancements, makes him nearly impossible to kill.
----
* AxCrazy: Happily acknowledges his own insanity and bloodlust. His HealingFactor only adds to this, since it only brings back his brain tissue instead of healing it.
* ArmorIsUseless: Double subverted; Durge's armor contains most of his weapons and tools, but he is perhaps more lethal without it.
* BadassBiker: In his first battle in ''Clone Wars'', he rides a swoop bike.
%%* BashBrothers: With Asajj Ventress.
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil: His torture at the hands of the Mandalorians after killing the then-Mandalore only worsened his psychosis.
* BizarreAlienBiology: Durge has a spread nervous system instead of a centralized one, making it impossible to cripple him via any means other than total dismemberment.
* BloodKnight: Very much like Grievous's hate towards Jedi, Durge's only reason to join the CSI was to kill Mandalorians, although they were clones. Before then he took part in the New Sith Wars to kill as many Mandalorians (who were allied with the Jedi at the time) as he could.
* BodyHorror: He is a literal mass of muscle.
* BoomerangBigot: A variation. He categorically hates Mandalorians and everything related to them because they tortured him, despite the fact that his own mentor, trainer, and only real friend was a Mandalorian.
* BountyHunter: Aspired to become one after seeing a group of them in action.
* TheBrute: Acts as the muscle for Dooku and Ventress.
* CoolHelmet: Wears it even after losing his armor and becoming a walking tentacled mass.
* {{Cyborg}}: His armor is cybernetically fused with his body, but unlike most of examples, he can perfectly live without it thanks to his Gen'Dai abilities.
* DeadlyGas: He and Ventress gas an entire Gungan colony in his first appearance.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: He was genuinely close to his mentor, an ex-Mandalorian named Jaing, and he become enraged and went on a vendetta against Mandalorians for killing Jaing (though unbestknown to him Jaing had survived).
* EvilIsNotPacifist: Durge's entire species, excepting himself, is made up of pacifists. He, conversely, feels an intense need for bloodshed.
* EvilLaugh: A terrifying one when he gets stabbed by Obi-Wan's lightsaber.
* TheFaceless: His face is rarely seen, but when you see it, you know shit is about to hit the fan.
* FrontLineGeneral: Despite San Hill's doubts, Durge is not afraid to battle in first line, and when he comes to the battlefield, he can easily change the tide.
* GeniusBruiser: A feared if uncaring military commander, as well as an eight foot killing machine who is much smarter and more cunning that he looks like.
* GunsAkimbo: Uses a blaster in each hand.
* HandicappedBadass: Due to facing lightsaber-wielding Jedi too often, he sometimes ends with his arms amputated, but the handicap does not long last as his regenerative abilities allows him to reconnect them to his body.
* HealingFactor: If you do manage to injure Durge, this kicks in. He can regenerate from most injuries, and while decapitation will slow him down, his head can be reattached.
* HeroKiller: The single most prolific slaughterer of Jedi, aside from a Mandalore, until Grievous appeared.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: He often teams up with Ventress in his appearances, and he towers over her.
* HurlItIntoTheSun: How [[spoiler:Anakin finally deals with him.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: He hates Mandalorians for killing his master Jaing, who casually was also a Mandalorian.
* ImplacableMan: Verging on TheJuggernaut at points.
* {{Irony}}: Wants revenge against Mandalorians for killing his mentor. His mentor? A Mandalorian named Jaing.
%%* JetPack: Briefly uses one in ''Clone Wars''.
* LightningBruiser: He's massively fast aside from just plain massive.
* MalevolentMaskedMan: And his face is not pretty.
* MotorMouth: He is very talkative and very rarely shut up in the comics where he appears, in great contrast to his Clone Wars incarnation that never speaks.
* NighInvulnerability: Both Durge's armor and the Gen'Dai himself. He can survive being submerged in lava, shot through the head, and disembowelment without any negative side effects.
* OffWithHisHead: Happened to him a time or two. It doesn't kill him.
* OneManArmy: Is a walking arsenal, to the extent that his own body is a weapon.
* PsychoForHire: Durge likes money, but he's really in it for the kicks.
* PutTheLaughterInSlaughter: Expect the guy to be laughing his ass off whenever he gets to work causing carnage on the battlefield
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: Pushing two thousand actually.
* {{Revenge}}: Against the Mandalorians for killing his mentor, Jaing (who was one of their own, mind you).
* RedEyesTakeWarning: He's got red eyes when unmasked, and, well, see for yourself whenever he gets into a fight
* SilentAntagonist: For some reason, he has no lines in ''Clone Wars'' apart from a brief EvilLaugh. On the other hand, in the comics he never shuts up.
* SuperStrength: He is so strong that he can easily overpower Jedi in close-quarter combat, stops a speeder bike dead in its tracks with his bare hands, and send Grievous crashing into several statues with a punch.
* TokenEvilTeammate: In the Legends continuity, Gen'dai are known to be to be mostly peaceful if a bit reserved and isolationist. Durge is one of the very few members of their race that is violent by nature and thus stays employed as a BountyHunter and general mercenary.
* VillainousFriendship: With Asajj Ventress, with who he forms a very dangerous and lethal duo.
* WalkingArmory: He's got twin blasters, energy shields, machine gun gauntlets, flamethrowers, spiked flails, dart launcher and his signature energized bolas. All on top of an extremely heavy, full suit of PowerArmor.
* WeHaveReserves: To the point of using his own troops as suicide bombers at once point.
* TheWorfEffect: He and Ventress are worfed in Trenchant courtesy of Grievous.

->'''Appears in:''' ''[[ComicBook/StarWarsRepublic Republic]]''

Leader of the Jabiim Nationalist Army, which allied itself with the Separatists. Stratus was an angry, brutal man, who hated the Jedi Order and the Republic alike, and wanted to see them burn for perceived wrongdoings against Jabiim.
----
* AlasPoorVillain: As he lays dying with Aubrie after they perform a MutualKill, he remarks that the both of them are casualties of war.
* BadassNormal: Stratus is an ordinary human with nothing but a steel sword and blasters, but he either wins or survives several battles with lightsaber-carrying Jedi.
* BerserkButton: Do ''not'' repeat the claim that "there is no pain, there is only the Force" around him. [[OffWithHisHead Master Norcuna found this out the hard way.]]
-->"Last week, I saw my cousin crawling through the mud... a blaster burn through her gut, her legs crushed by one of your Jedi war machines. Was ''that'' pain, Jedi? And when she [[DiedInYourArmsTonight died in my arms]], what did ''I'' feel, if not pain?"\
''(Stratus [[OffWithHisHead decapitates Jedi Master Norcuna]])''.\
"The Jedi have brought only suffering to our world. But I swear that every Jedi on Jabiim will soon know our pain!"
* TheCoup: Launched one against Jabiim's parliament in order to kill any Republic supporters.
* FreudianExcuse: Blames the Republic for being absent during any number of tragedies that have afflicted Jabiim.
-->'''Alto Stratus''': "For three thousand years, we were loyal to the Republic. But did they send aid during the Brainrot Plague? Did they react when the [[AlwaysChaoticEvil Trandoshans]] invaded? Where were the Jedi when Lythian pirates killed your parents... and mine? The Republic ignored our cries for help until they learned, beneath the mud - '''our planet has a heart of ore!'''"
* FrontlineGeneral: Stratus leads his men into battle regardless of how well-armed his enemies are and remains within walking distance of the battlefield to observe and coordinate things even after losing a leg.
* HeroKiller: Downplayed. He manages to take out at least three Jedi himself, though he had the drop on one of them from behind and another was lying beaten (albeit possibly after fighting Stratus himself). At the climax of the Battle of Jabiim arc, he also manages to kill Jedi Padawan Aubrie Wyn of the [[EnsembleCast Padawan Pack]], albeit at the cost of his own life.
* KickThemWhileTheyAreDown: Beheads the already wounded Jedi Master Norcuna in his most notable KickTheDog moment.
* MutualKill: With Jedi Padawan Aubrie Wyn, who plunges a pair of lightsabers into Stratus' chest after he shoots her.
* OneShotCharacter: In the ''Battle of Jabiim'' arc of ''Republic''.
* WouldHurtAChild: Regards the Padawans as children. Is willing to slaughter them all anyway.

!!!'''Species:''' Geonosian
!!!'''Homeworld:''' Geonosis

->'''Appears in:''' ''[[VideoGame/StarWarsBattlefrontII Battlefront II]]''

The leader of a Separatist holdout on Mustafar, Gizor Dellso designed the Battle Droid shutdown signal that Palpatine transmitted throughout the Galaxy at the end of the Clone Wars. Figuring that the signal's activation was some kind of trick, Dellso refused to surrender and diligently constructed a new droid army to combat the Empire.
----
* AllForNothing: Dellso spent years building an entire private army of Battle Droids to combat the Empire, only for all of his work to be effortlessly [[CurbStompBattle crushed before it could even get off the ground by the 501st Legion]] while his droid factory was bombarded from orbit.
* DoNotGoGentle: Although his would-be rebellion never really stood a chance to begin with, Dellso decided to jump into the fray himself as a vain last stand for the CIS.
* TheRemnant: One of the last CIS leaders to remain loyal to the Separatist cause, Dellso bravely continued to fight the Republic, rechristened as the Empire, despite having no surviving allies.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Zeta Magnus]]
!!Zeta Magnus
!!!'''Species:''' Arkanian mutant
!!!'''Homeworld:''' Arkania

An Arkanian mutant, master geneticist and enemy of the Galactic Republic, Zeta Magnus was created as the prototype of a series of Arkanian mutant clones by the Arkanian Dominion during a civil war on Arkania. After the war Magnus escaped his creators and travelled the galaxy, before working for the Sith in exchange of the promise of immortality, engineering terrorist attacks on the Republic and joining the CIS as part of his deal with Sidious.
----
* ActuallyADoombot: The Zeta Magnus that the Jedi confronted and killed at the battle of Skye turned out to be a clone of him.
* AxCrazy: A genetic horror bred from many and often monstruous species to be as brutal as possible by his Arkanian creators, Zeta Magnus is extremely brutal, cruel and unhinged. He's aware of it, describing himself as a madman.
* EvilGenius: A genius geneticist who has created many biological weapons such as the hive virus that caused the loss of the Katana Fleet, the Blue Shadow Virus or Stone Mites, and is also a master of cloning, being the one who allowed the creation of the Morgukai Shadow Army.
* GeniusBruiser: He's a giant mutant monster who's nearly 4 meters tall and said to be able of digesting even indestructible materials, but he's also an incredibly intelligent and skilled geneticist.
* HybridMonster: Zeta Magnus is the first of the Accelerated Transgenic Heuristic Abhorers, a series of mutant super soldiers created and used by the Arkanian Dominion to squash a rebellion. He and the other Abhorers were made by mixing Arkanian, Yaka, Rakghouls, Amorphiian androids, Dianoga and other horrors' DNA into one. This not only gives him SuperStrength, the ability to digest even indestructible materials, and incredible intelligence but also explains his insanity.
* IAmAHumanitarian: He got rid of his creators that tried to kill him by devouring them, and wanted to eat Darth Sidious upon meeting him.
* ImmortalitySeeker: Realizing that he was genetically programmed to die by his creators, Magnus sought to become immortal, eventually accepting to serve the Sith in exchange for the promise of eternal life.
* MadScientist: A genius but utterly deranged and cannibalistic scientist that creates and uses biological weapons, experiments on various species and cloning, and seeks immortality.
* MalevolentMaskedMan: He wears a mask and armor that only reveal his glowing eyes. Knowing what kind of species and monsters that Arkanians used to create him such as Rakghouls or Dianogas, it's most likely for the better that we never see his true appearance.
* OneManArmy: Being a hulking 4 meters giant with superhuman strength made from the DNA of strong and outright monstruous species, Magnus has slaughtered countless enemies of the Arkanian Dominion.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He's responsible for the infestation of Stone Mites in the Core Worlds, the experiments on the Dashta Eel that led to the creation of the JK-series droids, the Morgukai Shadow Army, the loss of the Katana Fleet via the Hive Virus he infected the fleet crew with, and for the creation of the base and lab at Mount Tantiss that would be used by the CIS and later the Galactic Empire, both of the latest which would play a crucial role during Thrawn's campaign.
* WickedCultured: He might be a cannibal and a MadScientist but Magnus also learned the languages of each of his victims, and taught himself to play many exotic instruments from across the galaxy such as the Mawanese vioflute, the drumheller harp, B'ommar pipe nalargon or the Zeltronian lute. He also dressed himself in the style of the Magi Sentinels of Onderon, who guarded Freedon Nadd's heirs, indicating a fondness for ancient history and culture.
