Kaos' loyal, regularly put-upon servant. He is always by his master's side and goes through with his many plans to conquer Skylands.

He is playable in ''[=SuperChargers=]'' as one of the Land villains after he is defeated in Villain Pursuit.
----
* AffablyEvil: Despite working for Kaos, Glumshanks is actually a pretty nice guy. He is a lot more friendly to the Skylanders and offers to play Skystones with them if he encounters them in Kaos levels and he doesn’t have the same EvilIsHammy appearance as his master. Working for Kaos is perhaps the only reason Glumshanks is labeled as evil. And even then...
* AntiVillain: He never really does anything evil, apart from the time he was Evilized, and pretty much has nothing against the Skylanders. After his HeelFaceTurn in ''[=SuperChargers=]'', he is a genuine hero, and a NiceGuy.
* BossArenaIdiocy: As Evil Glumshanks, he can close off the spikes around the arena that the Skylander tricks him into driving into, making him open for damage. But he doesn’t close off ALL the spikes for some reason, allowing the Skylander to continue using the same trick over and over.
* BumblingSidekick: On the occasions when he gets assigned duties to stop or hinder the Skylanders, he rarely succeeds. Mostly because the obstacle he poses or creates is not that intimidating or difficult to avoid.
* ButtMonkey: If Glumshanks appears, expect something bad to happen to him in some way.
* CorruptTheCutie: After a few levels into ''Swap Force'', Kaos begins to question Glumshanks’ “commitment to evil” and uses the Evilizer on Glumshanks, turning him into an evil version of himself.
* DeadpanSnarker: He mostly take his deadpan shots whenever Kaos is in a low point, such as when his boss is unsuccessfull in using Mind Magic to create Doomlanders that can deafeat the Skylanders.
--> '''Glumshanks:''' Well, it sounds like you've got the magic part down, you're just missing the mind part.
* DisneyDeath: [[spoiler: Although it could be obvious that ''[=SuperChargers=]'' was not gonna kill him off after he got sucked into a vortex, he still was revealed to still be alive just a few minutes after having sacrificed himself.]]
* DragonWithAnAgenda: Glumshanks is clearly not happy with working for the Golden Queen in ''Trap Team'', and wishes to stop her just as much as the Skylanders wants. In "The Lair of The Golden Queen", he holds Bad Juju's villain quest, which involves her using her whirlwinds to remove sand so Glumshanks can find the remote that controls to the Ultimate Weapon.
* ExtremeDoormat: He never, ever stands up for himself. Ever.
* FriendlyEnemy: If you race him in a Villain Pursuit in ''[=SuperChargers=]'' [[spoiler: while he’s on your side. He doesn’t act like he is on the Skylanders’ side during the race despite this]].
** In ''Trap Team'' and ''Imaginators'', he can be found in the last levels of both games, being tasked by Kaos to distract the Skylander with Skystones Smash and Creation Clash respectively. Glumshanks, however, loves having the chance to do this with the Skylander.
* GameplayAndStorySegregation: In the racing mode of ''[=SuperChargers=]'', he is one of the land villains that can be fought in Villain Pursuit, where he is a lot more confident and throws insults at the Skylander. If you wait long enough to do this, however (likely, since the Land Trophy was released in the fourth wave), he can act like this during [[spoiler:the time he stays with the Skylanders as an ally]].
* GreenAndMean: Even if he is more AffablyEvil than his boss, he still goes along on Kaos' schemes and helps him in them.
* GuiltByAssociationGag: Always receives the same comeuppance as Kaos, no matter how big the difference in what the two accomplished individually is, such as the end of the "Literature/SkylandersTheMaskOfPower" book series, where both of them are turned to sheep when it was only Kaos who did that to Hugo.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:In ''[=SuperChargers=]''. Although he still remains with Kaos, [[HeelFaceRevolvingDoor even in ''Imaginators'']]]].
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler: In ''[=SuperChargers=]'', Kaos almost had Skylander Academy devoured by one of his vortexes. To help his new friends get to safety, Glumshanks went on a remote island and removed the chain keeping it to the academy, getting the main building to lose just enough weight to be able to escape from the Sky Eater while only he got sucked in. [[DisneyDeath However…]]]]
* LeanAndMean: Has a slimer and taller physique compared to other trolls in the franchise. [[AntiVillain Still not mean, though]].
* LegoBodyParts: [[spoiler:Happens to him and Kaos at the end of ''Swap Force''.]]
* MadeOfIron: In Spyro’s Adventure, he survived a dive into lava. In Giants, he survived the explosion when [[spoiler: the Arkeyan Conquertron crash landed due to it shutting down because Kaos lost the Iron Fist of Arkus]]. And in Swap Force, he and Kaos [[spoiler: survive the eruption of Mount Cloudbreak while being inside it ([[FridgeLogic Without being sent to earth, despite the volcano having done that to the Skylanders guarding it one hundred years ago)]]]]. And while Kaos was also there in the last two scenarios, he at least has dark powers, [[BadassNormal while Glumshanks has no such thing]].
* MightyGlacier: In ''[=SuperChargers=] Racing'', Glumshanks' highest stats are his top speed and armor, but he has average stats for both acceleration and handling.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: He really isn't all that evil, and both he and Kaos are well aware of this. Kaos does make him less of this trope in ''Swap Force'' with his dark crystals, but being beaten by the Skylanders results in reverting back to this trope.
* NiceGuy: Should he meet the Skylanders during their missions, he shows no disdain towards any of them and is even willing to play Skystones with them and have fun in it all while admitting that Kaos made him do it to distract the Skylanders. [[spoiler:And when he ends up with the heroes after being fired by Kaos, he helps them in a few areas. With his most notable deed being to sacrifice himself so they can escape from one of the Sky Eater’s rifts.]]
* OnlyFriend: To Kaos, despite how one-sided it is.
* PromotedToPlayable: He wasn't a trappable villain in ''Trap Team'', unlike his boss. But one year later, he becomes a playable racing villain in the land department in ''[=SuperChargers=]''.
* PurpleIsPowerful: As with the other evilized creatures, Evil Glumshanks is purple and a lot more powerful than his, (let's say) neutral counterpart. He now has the ability to control various machines powered by his newfound powers.
* RageBreakingPoint: After jumping into the Lava Lakes during his mission to stop the Skylanders from receiving the Eternal Fire Source and ending up severely burned, Kaos just remarks that Glumshanks looks “different”. Glumshanks then looks like he’s about to snap right before the light from the newly reconstructed Core of Light reaches them and blinds them.
* ServileSnarker: While ultimately loyal to his master, there are still times where he finds himself snarking at Kaos's egotistical attitude.
* TacticalSuicideBoss: Detailed in BossArenaIdiocy. The Portal Master has to use Evil Glumshanks' rush attack to trick him into driving into the spikes around the arena. If he doesn't close off all the spikes, he can at least stop using that rush attack.
* TankGoodness: Evil Glumshanks creates a tank from scrap and rides it.
* {{Technopath}}: Can create and control machinery as Evil Glumshanks.
* UndyingLoyalty: It doesn’t matter how much Kaos tortures this guy, or even [[spoiler: if he gets fired and is better of with Kaos’ arch-enemies]], Glumshanks will remain by his master’s side.
* VerbalTic: Whenever he talks to Kaos, he refers to him as “Lord Kaos, sir”, especially when Kaos is upset over his shortcomings.
* VillainousFriendship: With Kaos’ mom, as she treats him with kindness in [[BadBoss high contrast with her son]]. In one cutscene, they have a tea party which is one of the few scenes where Glumshanks has a smile on his face.
* VillainousValour: When Kaos has been defeated and captured at the end of ''Trap Team'', [[spoiler: Glumshanks actually tries to keep the Ultimate Weapon together even though it’s impossible for it because the power source has been breached due to Kaos’ defeat.]]
* WarmUpBoss: The fight against Evil Glumshanks is an easy first boss, but still shows the player that unlike the previous two games, in this game you aren't supposed to just hit the bosses until their HP is down to zero.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: While in every game after ''Spyro’s Adventure'', he was usually sharing the same fate as Kaos or there was at least some clarification on what happened to Glumshanks. But in the first game, he is never seen again after the following cutscene with him and Kaos after the Core of Light has been rebuilt.
* WhatWouldXDo: "What Would Kaos Do?" Evil Glumshanks says this whenever he's in a tight situation.
* YesMan: To Kaos, of course, because it’s a no-brainer as to what will happen if Glumshanks says no to anything Kaos suggests…

[[folder:The Arkeyans]]
!! The Arkeyans
An ancient civilization, made incredibly advanced by learning to merge magic and technology - in fact, ''Giants'' explains that they were ''themselves'' {{Magitek}} robots. They ruled the Skylands 10,000 years ago using the Fist of Arkus, until a group of Giants banded together and were able to end their reign.
----
* AbusivePrecursors: A Tablet in ''Spyro's Adventure'' says they were tyrants, and the Weapon Master (''himself'' an Arkeyan creation) admits they kept the Source of Magic for themselves so they'd stay superior to the others. ''Giants'' takes this further, making them the main antagonists.
* DecapitatedArmy: Since the entire army is controlled via the Iron Fist of Arkus, remove it from whoever is holding it and all the giant robots will shut down.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: In the 3DS version of ''Giants''. It was the [[LawfulEvil Arkeyans]] who locked up Frightbeard and his fleet inside the Chest of Exile for [[ChaoticEvil being too destructive and dangerous.]]
* FallenHero: They used to be defenders of Skylands thanks to their advanced experiments of combining magic and technology, but because of them becoming too advanced, it led to some of them becoming prideful and looking for the conquest of Skylands. There still were some that insisted on not giving in to that and instead focus on the popular sport Roboto-Ball. Unfortuantely, the Balls themselves had a tendancy of exploding, which eventually led to there being no good Arkeyans left.
* ForgetfulJones: At least when it came to things that were put below their feet which led to them forgetting boatloads of treasure around the inside of the Island of Arkus.
* KeystoneArmy: The army is controlled by the Fist of Arkus - tear the fist off the robot it's built into, and the army deactivates.
* {{Magitek}}: Many are a combination of magic and technology, as are their machines. In fact, they were the ones to fuse magic and tech together to create their machines.
* MechanicalLifeforms: They are living, sentient robots.
* MySpeciesDothProtestTooMuch: Chop Chop, Drill Sergeant, and Bouncer are all Arkeyans that have sided with the Skylanders against their own kind. Various Arkeyan [=NPCs=] have also aided the Skylanders.

[[folder:Kaos' Ultimate Minion '''(SPOILERS)''']]
!! Hydra
[[quoteright:370:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skylanders_hydra.png]]

Kaos' most powerful minion, as well as his most treasured. As Kaos' "Plan Z" during the opening of ''Spyro's Adventure'', it is responsible for destroying the Core of Light.
----
* TheCameo: It makes a small return in ''[=SuperChargers=]'' as the antagonist of one of the books at the Spell Punk Library.
* ElementalPowers: Each head represents and, during the battle, uses one of the spells that Kaos himself used during the four occasions you fought against his Evil Skylanders.
* KnightOfCerebus: The battle against Kaos was already played pretty seriously, but once this beast gets inserted, it goes even further, as you're now also against the creature that destroyed the Core of Light, turned Master Eon a spirit, and banished the Skylanders from Skylands.
* OurHydrasAreDifferent: The Hydra, or Hydragon, is a huge four-headed reptilian monster, with head being connected and shaped to resemble four of the game's elements: Fire, Water, Life, and Undead.
* TheUnfought: Everything it does in the final battle is send out attacks in the form of spells from the background, so the player never faces it directly. Once Kaos is defeated, the Hydra is as well.

Villain of Pirate Seas bonus level; a pirate captain with a taste for gambling. Returns in ''Giants'', in one of the main levels this time.
----
* AscendedExtra: From the villain of an optional bonus level to an important character in the main game of ''Giants''. Granted, it was a minor role, but still impressive compared to the other bonus level villains.
* CaptainColorbeard: Named Captain Dreadbeard.
* DefeatEqualsFriendship: In ''Giants'', he joins [[spoiler:Flynn's crew and offers to play Skystones with the Skylanders anytime]].
* TheGamblingAddict: He loves to play cards and Skystones.
* GangOfHats: He and his crew's whole gimmick is card games, which feature prominently in his appearances. Pirate Seas has him play the card matching "Pirate Cards", while ''Giants'' has him change to Skystones, with his level introducing the player to the game.
* GracefulLoser: DoubleSubverted. In the Pirate Seas level, when you beat him the first time in Pirate Cards, he does leave the town, but not before taking with him all of the treasure and kidnapping Jess Legrand, forcing the Skylander to follow him to his fortress on Plunder Island. After shooting down the island's defenses, Dreadbeard challenges the Skylander to one last game of Pirate Cards. But this time when he loses, he [[VillainRespect admits that the Skylander is a legend]], gives back the treasure, sets Jess free and takes his leave.
* VillainOfAnotherStory: He is only met in the Pirate Seas level where he and his gang of pirates has invaded the Coconut Islands and taken over, and otherwise have nothing to do with the main story. Averted in ''Giants'', where he becomes an AscendedExtra.

The villain of the Darklight Crypt bonus chapter.
----
* EyeBeams: His only method of attack is firing a laser from his eye and move it around the arena. ''Very slowly''.
* FacelessEye: A huge one, too!
* FauxAffablyEvil: He puts on a warm, friendly facade upon meeting the Skylander, before they get to the ghost village and the resident ghosts tell them of his true nature. By outlawing pies within the town, he has now forced the ghosts to eat the brains of the living, which is something the ghosts doesn't even want to do.
* GoForTheEye: To damage him in his boss fight, the Skylander must fire cannon balls right in his giant eye [[RuleOfThree three times]].
* SpikesOfVillainy: He has purple spikes around his giant eye.
* VillainOfAnotherStory: He is the main villain of the Darklight Crypt Adventure Pack and have no involvement in the main story.

The villain of the Dragon's Peak bonus chapter. An undead dragon who is the evil brother to the current Dragon King, Ramses.
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:He is turned to Stone by Flavius when he gets tricked to get off the throne. And unlike his previous attempts to seize the power, Vathek isn't gonna be banished for what he did, but be kept as a stone statue.]]
* CainAndAbel: With Ramses. Vathek is the Cain to Ramses's Abel.
* DraconicHumanoid: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]] in that he still looks like a dragon, with the only humanoid aspect of his besign being that he walks on two legs as opposed to four.
* ObviouslyEvil: Just look at him! He's got holes in his wings, empty eyes that almost glow and he's pitch black.
* SssnakeTalk: His "s" sounds are always pronounced.
* TheUnfought: [[spoiler:Flavius turns him to stone before he gets the chance to fight you. He does get a proper (albeit [[AntiClimaxBoss disappointing]]) fight in the 3DS version, though.]]
* TheUsurper: Vathek always wanted to be king of Dragon's Peak, but is known as a evil and horrible dragon. When Ramses and his dragon knight Flavius went out flying, Vathek sat on the Dragon's Throne, allowing him to become king of Dragon's Peak by Dragon Law. He then used the power of the Dragon's Throne to turn his own brother to stone.
* VillainOfAnotherStory: He is the main villain of the Dragon's Peak Adventure Pack and have no involvement in the main story.

A fearsome invader from the Outlands and the BigBad of the 3DS version of ''Spyro's Adventure''.
----
* AdvancingBossOfDoom: After his first phase has been cleared, he will chase after the Skylander to try and stop them from placing Wendel's staff at the Dark Mirror to destroy it.
* FinalBoss: The last and ''only'' boss that is faced during the events of ''Spyro's Adventure'' for the 3DS.
* FlunkyBoss: Hektore is accompanied by several dark versions of basic enemies that he sics on you in waves while he hangs back outside the arena and attacks. Defeating all of these minions renders him vulnerable to attack.
* GenericDoomsdayVillain: He gets no characterization; he's just an evil floating head that attacks you if you're running out of time. In fact, he doesn't even have a single line of dialogue until his ''death scene''.
* EvilLaugh: Most of his dialogue consists of this.
* EyeBeams: Should the end of level timer start to dip past 30 seconds, he can unleash these to put more pressure on the Skylander as he chases them.
* KilledOffForReal: Once the Skylander shatters the Dark Mirror he created, Hektore explodes along with it. In fact, he has the honor of being the first major antagonist in the series to really die.
* StalkedByTheBell: He's the stalker in this scenario. Whenever the Skylander retrieves a Radiance Crystal, Hektore appears to try and eliminate them as they attempt to escape by reaching the level's end.

-> [[spoiler:Voiced by: Creator/IkeAmadi (''[=SuperChargers=]'')]]

The ultimate force behind most of the evil in Skylands.
----
* AmbiguousGender: Despite Creator/IkeAmadi giving the darkness a deep and pretty masculine voice, all the other characters refer to the Darkness as "it", though Glumshanks, at one point, calls it "Mr. The Darkness", implying that it may be male.
* BigBad: [[spoiler:Halfway through ''[=SuperChargers=]'', it takes the role, demonstrating its dominance over Kaos. Notably, it's the first villain since Kaos himself to keep the role for the entire game.]]
* BishonenLine: [[spoiler:It's OneWingedAngel is this. With the use of its dark magic, it creates a human-like body for itself and wears the remains of the Sky Eater as armor. It never really gets the chance to use this body, though. Most of its attacks are delivered from the aforementioned Sky Eater armor.]]
* CastingAShadow: Can form minions of shadow in the form of Shadow Guardians, and ''Trap Team'' says that it and the Dark Element are one and the same.
* EvilDoppelganger: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]], [[spoiler:but its final form bears a resemblance to Spitfire, who is the leader of the [=SuperChargers=] and the mascot of the game.]]
* FauxAffablyEvil: [[spoiler:Its friendly and encouraging attitude towards Kaos is ultimately shown to be nothing more than manipulation on his end. It ends up dropping this when Kaos starts to have second thoughts about destroying Skylands, threatening to take away his powers if he doesn't obey it]].
* FinalBoss: [[spoiler:Of ''[=SuperChargers=]''.]]
* GodOfDarkness: The Darkness is an EldritchAbomination serving as an EnigmaticEmpoweringEntity backing the [[EvilSorceror Dark Portal Master]] Kaos. In the first game, it plays a major role as the [[YinYangClash counterpart]] to the Core of Light, the congregation of Skylands' elements that kept it at bay until Kaos blew it up and let the Darkness take over the land, with the player encountering many spawns of the Darkness over the course of the game as enemies. It had a sparingly few mentions in later games, with ''Swap Force'' featuring [[PowerCrystal Petrified Darkness]] that transformed enemies into stronger and more evil versions of themselves and supplementary materials for ''Trap Team'' stating that the Darkness and [[CastingAShadow the Dark Element]] were one and the same until ''[=SuperChargers=]'' where it [[spoiler:reveals itself as [[ItCanThink a living being and an actively malevolent force]] by backstabbing Kaos and usurping him as the FinalBoss]]. As a primordial, immortal force of evil that has existed for countless [[{{Pun}} eons]], it's the closest thing the franchise had to a god until [[{{Precursors}} the Ancients]] and [[GodIsEvil Brain]] were introduced.
* GreaterScopeVillain: It gave the Dark Portal Masters their powers, including Kaos and his mom. A few of the Skylanders bios also have it play a key role in their backstories.
* KnightOfCerebus: [[spoiler:Once it starts talking to Kaos, the plot takes a more darker turn, with it coming closer to destroying Skylands than any other villain before or since]].
* {{Leitmotif}}: An ominous orchestral melody.
* TheManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler: He becomes this to Kaos]] in ''[=SuperChargers=]'', [[spoiler: saying that he'll rule the universe in his name]].
* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler:At the end of ''[=SuperChargers=]'' when it seems like the day has been saved and The Darkness is gone for good, [[FakeOutFaceOut it suddenly reappears]] out of the rift that was created from the Sky Eater's destruction and gains a physical body made out of the remains of the Sky Eater.]]
* SatanicArchetype: Fits several traits of this. [[DarkIsEvil It's associated with the]] [[CastingAShadow Dark Element]], had a group of Spell Punks dedicated to helping it get free, has a [[TheCorruptor corruptive influence on Kaos]] by feeding his desire for a land to rule before [[DealWithTheDevil it then gives him a bargain]] to rule as a PuppetKing in its name, its emblem being six triangles reflects the NumberOfTheBeast, and its final form takes several Satanic elements, including [[RedEyesTakeWarning red eyes]] with [[GruesomeGoat pupils like those of a goat]], [[AbsurdlySharpClaws claws]], and [[HornsOfVillainy horns]].
* SuddenlyVoiced: In ''[=SuperChargers=]'', having been a silent entity in the first game before gaining the ability to speak as Kaos absorbs more of Skylands' magic through the Sky-Eater.
* TalkingInYourSleep: [[spoiler:The reason Glumshanks knows where the Dark Rift Engine is located is because The Darkness does this.]]
* WalkingSpoiler: The Darkness is secretly TheManBehindTheMan Kaos has been serving for the entire series, and it is assumed he is merely talking about its power and abilities whenever he mentions it. Eventually in ''[=SuperChargers=]'', it's revealed it's completely sentient and actively wants the destruction of everything.

An Arkeyan robot from when the Arkeyans ruled Skylands 10,000 years ago who was programmed to oversee the enslaved Mabus. He gets revived (albeit accidentally) by Kaos in ''Giants'' where he swears allegiance to the Portal Master for waking him.
----
* ItHasBeenAnHonor: [[spoiler:As he is shutting down due to Kaos losing the Iron Fist of Arkus, thus giving him no master who can control him, he tells Kaos that it was a privilege to be serving him.]]
* KilledOffForReal: [[spoiler:After he has shut down, he crash lands on an island in an explosion, making him the first character in the series that had a fate that made it clear they aren't gonna come back.]]
* MrExposition: One cutscene in ''Giants'' is pretty much nothing except the Conquertron explaining to Glumshanks what Kaos plans to do.

A giant drilling machine made to drill his way to the Lost City of Arkus for Kaos. He sings often, and the Molekin who are forced to work for him hate it.
----
* AttackItsWeakPoint: Destroying Drill-X's drill causes him to de-power and shut down.
* DeathFromAbove: Will summon lasers from above that track the player throughout the fight.
* DreadfulMusician: The imprisoned mine workers consider him to be this.
* FollowTheBouncingBall: A bouncing Drill-X head appears when he sings his lyrics.
* ImprobableUseOfAWeapon: When his drill fails to spin after it gets damaged, he uses it as a bludgeon to smash the Skylanders.
* KillerRobot: He's a gigantic robot that tries to murder you.
* NamedAfterSomebodyFamous: He's named after ''Music/{{Skrillex}}''. And like how certain groups dislike Skrillex's music, the Molekin despise Drill-X's singing.
* ShockwaveStomp: After his drill malfunctions and no longer spins, he uses it to smash the ground and send out shockwaves.
* StealingFromTheTill: Apparently, it's rumoured that Drill-X has a tendency to embezzle a fraction of the treasure he digs up for himself, with the accolade discussing it imploring the player pay special attention to their surroundings when visiting his big rig because of it.
* ThisIsADrill: Needs no explaination.

The Captain of the Phantom Tide and the BigBad of the 3DS version of ''Giants''. He and his pirate crew terrorized Skylands with The Phantom Tide 10,000 years ago until they were locked up in the Chest of Exile by the Arkeyans, with Frightbeard's sword acting as the lock. After breaking free, Frightbeard went on the search for the chest to release his ship so he and his crew can continue the terror they spread in the past.

Even after being beaten at the end of ''Giants'' 3DS, he managed to get out again, but this time, he doesn't carry the same level of threat as he used to. 263Kaos' mother is an evil Portal Master who one hundred years ago disrupted the Volcano Ritual and scattered the Swap-Force. She returns to aid her son with his plans for the Ancients.
----
* AndIMustScream: [[spoiler:When she is defeated at the end of her boss battle by having her shoot her laser into the mirror screen Kaos has used throughout ''Swap Force'', she gets stuck in some sort of prison with no way of getting out. And since she doesn't reappear in any of the following games (physically, as a picture of her can be seen after [=SuperChargers=] is beaten), it's safe to say that she's probably gonna be stuck there for a long time.]]
* BigBad: Takes the helm from Kaos in ''Swap Force'' [[spoiler: only to have Kaos reclaim it after her capture in the viewing screen. Surprisingly, she turns out to be quite proud of him for it.]]
* BigBadWannabe: Kaos' mom has many accomplishments in the name of evil, like banishing the sixteen Skylanders that protected the volcano of Cloudbreak Islands and being a much more powerful dark Portal Master than what her son is. Despite that, she is not as active nowadays as she was back then and even when she comes to help her son in his latest plan, she doesn't do much herself [[OrcusOnHisThrone instead letting her minions do all the dirty work]], much like Kaos. After all the Elementals have been secured, it seems like she has grown to become the villain, [[spoiler:only for Kaos to take the helm back by letting her be a distraction for the Skylanders, which she is at first shocked at, [[BaitAndSwitch before saying that she is]] [[SoProudOfYou proud of him for it]]]]. To make this even more embarrasing, you don't even fight her in her ''own'' boss fight, instead she sends out evilized creatures to do the fighting for her.
* TheCameo: In ''[=SuperChargers=]'' [[spoiler:at the end of the game, [[EvenBadMenLoveTheirMamas there will be a picture of her in the tower Kaos takes residence in]] while he stays at Skylander Academy.]]
** In ''Imaginators'', she is mentioned in Ambush's backstory, being the villain of it. Although it is unclear if this happened before or after the ending of ''Swap Force'' [[spoiler:where she got trapped in a mirror prison.]]
* CanonImmigrant: Not her as a character, but her real name Kaossandra was first used in the spin-off Netflix show and was later used by the game series in ''Ring of Heroes''.
* DarkIsEvil: She proclaims herself to be the strongest Portal Master on the side of Darkness.
* EvilWearsBlack: Similarly to her son, her clothes are mostly black.
* EvilerThanThou: Pulls this on her son after his defeat [[spoiler: only for Kaos to pull it on ''her'' after her own defeat, making her proud of her son for being more evil.]]
* {{Expy}}: From her hair to her magic powers, this woman could be [[WesternAnimation/SleepingBeauty Maleficent's]] stunt double.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Talks to the Skylander in a motherly tone of voice upon meeting them, but quickly drops this facade prior to attacking them.
* FlunkyBoss: [[spoiler:You don't actually fight her in her battle, you fight the six Evilized creatures you've encountered throughout the game and only damage her by tricking her into shooting the magical laser she fires onto a crystal so it fires back to her.]]
* TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou: When you're about to fight Kaos' Mom, the camera work and dialog begs to question if she's talking to the Skylanders or the Portal Master (i.e. the player).
* GreaterScopeVillain: She's more powerful than her son (except for when he uses evil materials and substances to power himself up) and presumably had a role in his becoming a portal master, plus she was responsible for the Cloudbreak Island attack 100 years ago. So far, however, she's only made one full appearance.
* HighCollarOfDoom: Her collar is ridiculously high and she's quite an evil portal master.
* InterfaceScrew: In her boss battle, [[spoiler:she will hide away ''inside'' the Portal. You have to remove your Skylander to reveal her.]]
* InTheBlood: She's a dark portal master and so is her son.
* MamaBear: While it's not the most extreme example, it's still something. After the Skylanders have saved all the Ancients Elementals and captured Kaos, [[spoiler:his mom appears to tell everyone that things are far from over, and what is the first thing she does? She brings her son back, and then takes Tessa thereafter.]]
* MyBelovedSmother: What Kaos seems to think of her as.
* NiceToTheWaiter: She is very friendly to Glumshanks. In her first appearance, she greets him gently and comments on how the troll is still being mistreated by Kaos. And later on, they have a tea party together and enjoying each other's company where Glumshanks for once has a smile on his face. And judging by Mesmeraldra's introduction scene, Kaos' mom's preferences appears to be rubbing off on her subjects.
* NoNameGiven: She's only ever referred to as Kaos' Mom.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She appears much younger than one would expect, seeing as she's well over a hundred.
* PreFinalBoss: In ''Swap Force'', she serves as this before the player battles Kaos.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: Her clothes are mostly black with some parts of her cape being red, and she is a Dark Portal Master, a stronger one than her son even.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: She's got noticeable red eyes and is very much someone to be afraid of.
* {{Revision}}: Though Kaossandra's real name was initially created solely for the [[WesternAnimation/SkylandersAcademy Skylanders Academy TV show]], the name would later be retconned into her canon name in Skylanders: A Portal Master's Guide to Skylands. Though, according to Kaos, most people would rather refer to her in relation to him instead.
* SealedEvilInACan: [[spoiler: After you defeat her, she gets stuck in the mirror she used to contact Kaos earlier in the game.]]
* SoProudOfYou: Her thoughts of Kaos [[spoiler:after he left her to the Skylanders to continue his EvilPlan.]] [[spoiler:Just imagine how proud she'd be if she knew that he double-crossed The Darkness itself!]]
* VillainousBreakdown: The more the boss battle with her progresses, the more she loses her cool.
* VillainousFriendship: She's very kind and friendly to Glumshanks, sharing tea with him and making small talk.
* WackyParentSeriousChild: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed]], as she is an even more powerful Portal Master than her son is, and Kaos can be put into more embarrassing moments due to his own actions. The difference is that she takes much more glee in what she’s doing while Kaos is more focused on it.
--> '''Kaos’ Mom:''' Lighten up, Kaos. What’s the point of being so deliciously evil if you can’t enjoy it? You know when I attacked the Cloudbreak Islands, I did it with an evil smile on my face.

* TheBusCameBack: After being absent in ''Trap Team'', he comes back in ''[=SuperChargers=]'' as the announcer of [=BattleBrawl=] Island. He also appears in ''Imaginators'' at various points.
* GiantEnemyCrab: He's an enemy, and he's a crab. Not exactly giant however.
* GratuitousGerman: Aside from the German accent, he spouses a few words in that language towards the heroes.
* HazyFeelTurn: Maybe. In games like Superchargers and Imaginators, he works by himself giving out different challenges not related at all to Kaos, that being the host of an arena or a skystones game match.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: When you finally face him, he's in a robot with DeflectorShields and bomb-launching abilities. You pick up the bomb and throw it back at him to destroy the shields, allowing you to damage it.

He is playable in ''[=SuperChargers=]'' as one of the Sky villains after he is defeated in Villain Pursuit.
----
* EvilIsPetty: He messes with the Tower of Time, sending the town surrounding it into the past and then back to the present with no end to it in sight, threatening Skylands into being stuck in an infinite time loop. All because he was annoyed by the tower’s bell ringing.
* FeatheredFiend: As explained, this bird is the main antagonist of Tower of Time.
* FlunkyBoss: In his final fight, Time Spell Punks will fight alongside him a bit into the fight, which has the ability to cause time to resume after the player uses the switch in the arena to stop time. Smart move, as stopping time is the only way to damage Cluck.
* LoneWolfBoss: In ''[=SuperChargers=]'', he is one of the few villains in the story who do not work for Kaos and is instead focusing on his own world-conquering plans at his fast food headquarters. The reason you need to head there is because he is in possession of the Colossal Kernel.

* SharedFamilyQuirks: Both he and his brother are wizards with staffs obssessed with creatures of Skylands frequently referred to as a pest (depening on who you ask in the sheeps' case), can transform themselves into a large version of said species, and has a puppet that they let in on conversations.
* TheUnfought: During the final battle of Sheep Wreck Island, he is not the main boss, but rather his staff is, as destroying it is what breaks the transformation spell he put on Flynn, even if he has to be stunned before you can damage it. And in-between the phases of destroying the staff, Sheep Mage sends in enemies to deal with the Skylander while he drags the Skylander towards and away from him in the background using his breathing. When the staff has been destroyed, he is pushed by the ensuing blast off the edge of the arena, shouting that he shall return.

* DanceBattler: During his final boss fight, he can use the Powersuit Mark 3.0. to send out power shots all by break-dancing.
* DemBones: He's an upper-class talking skeleton.
* DemotedToDragon: In ''[=SuperChargers=]'', he works for Kaos and is responsible for holding Eon hostage for him.
* EternalEngine: His lair in the Undead Fiesta is a clockwork castle that can also detach itself from Moneybones' Villa and fly around skylands.
* FaceHeelTurn: a surprisingly villanous one, but ever since the defeat of the darkness, Moneybones decides to work alone on his own conquering plans as well as to get revenge against Kaos, seeing him as a traitor.
* FauxAffablyEvil: He puts on a polite facade that does little to disguise his true nature.
* FragileSpeedster: In ''[=SuperChargers=] Racing'', Moneybone has very high acceleration and above average handling, but his top speed is one of the lowest among the villains and his armor stat isn't any better.
* MiniMecha: In Superchargers, Moneybone challenges the Skylanders by using a mech that looks like a cross of a skull and an engine.
* LargeHam: ''"Ah, Skylander! Well, here we are. In my office. [[SuddenlyShouting And MARGARET! YOU ARE FIRED!]]"''
* LoadBearingBoss: At the end of his 3rd fight in his castle, the entire structure begins to rumble, almost as if it's breaking apart. And while he still has the Villa in the Land of the Undead, his castle is very much gone.
* PoweredArmor: He uses a Powersuit during each of his 3DS boss fights and depends entirely on them to fight.
* PunnyName: His name is a play on "funny bone."
* RecurringBoss: In the 3ds version of Swap Force, he's fought 3 times, each using a more advanced version of his Powersuit.
* SealedEvilInACan: After his defeat in the comic "Life for the Party", he's seen rolling down inside of the detached head of his Mech into the darkest parts of the cavern. And since those caves don't have an end, it would take a long time for him to ever return.

* KingMook: For the Spell Punks.

A species which, apparent to their names, are dragon hunters.

One of them is playable in ''[=SuperChargers=]'' as one of the Land villains after he is defeated in Villain Pursuit.
----
* AdaptedOut: He doesn't appear in ''[=SuperChargers=] Racing'' as one of the playable villains, instead being replaced by Dr. Krankcase.
* FlatCharacter: Unlike Spellslamzer and Startosfear, other ''[=SuperChargers=]'' villains who at least had one level each in the story to flesh them out, the Dragon Hunter only appears in the racing portion and doesn't make enough appearances in other games or media to give him more characterization. In one comic, the entire species is DemotedToDragon for the Chompy Mage.
* TopHeavyGuy: He has a big bulking top-half and very small legs.

Kaos' new minions, created with Mind Magic. Made so that Kaos would have his own versions of Skylanders to combat them better.
----
* BossArenaIdiocy: During the Knight Doomlander boss fight, Kaos will be adding a wrecking ball halfway through the fight to use against the Skylander. The Knight Doomlander, however, [[DidntThinkThisThrough doesn't have any protection against this wrecking ball]], so the Skylander can trick it into standing in the wrecking ball's way and knock it away, doing tons of damage.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: The Braweler, the Ninja and the Quickshot Doomlanders are designed to lack bodies.
* EvilCounterpart: They're called ''Doom''landers for a reason (aside from the fact that it was Kaos who created them). They were specifically made so that Kaos would have his own army of Skylanders against the good ones.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: They aren't that good at spreading evil since they are easily taken down by the Skylanders. But that can mostly be blamed on their boss who created them and refuses to view his "genius" as the foundation of their incompetence.
* OncePerEpisode: Every level in ''Imaginators'' with the exception of the last one has a boss fight against a Doomlander, usually at the end.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: The Bazooker and Swashbuckler are the only female Doomlanders Kaos made.
* TheUnfought: Subverted with the Sentinel Doomlander. It doesn't get its own dedicated boss fight like the other Commanders due to ''Imaginators'' only having ten story levels and Kaos being the real boss of the tenth and final one, but it still shows up in the final battle against Kaos.

The Last of the Ancients (or so he claims) and the secondary antagonist of '' Imaginators''.
----
* ADogNamedDog: An evil BrainMonster named "Brain", in this case.
* AffablyEvil: He's nothing but polite and helpful towards Kaos, and is willing to geniunely compliment the Skylanders on their abilities.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: To [[spoiler:The Darkness]], as the one assisting Kaos in his plans.
** [[spoiler:The Darkness]] was a result of one of the Ancients' rift engines bringing it in from a forbidden world, making it a big enemy of the Ancient. In contrast, Brain ''is'' an Ancient.
** [[spoiler:The Darkness]] wanted to destroy Skylands and grow powerful enough to [[GalacticConquerer take over the entire world]]. Brain sticks to wanting to control every living creature in Skylands via mind control because he wanted to use Mind Magic for something greater than the simple things the other Ancients did.
** [[spoiler:The Darkness]] was always using Kaos and manipulated him into doing its bidding, ready to either peer pressure him or cast him aside once he had no more use for him. Brain stays with Kaos because they both help each other with what they want and [[spoiler:the reason he betrays Kaos is in equal parts because of his incompetence and equal parts because of Kaos' harsh tounge towards him.]]
* EasilyForgiven: [[spoiler:Brain does get captured by the Skylander when Kaos has been stopped yet again, but he convinces them to let him go and let him turn over a new leaf. Though the Skylanders have some doubts towards him, he gets nontheless very easily let go despite assisting Kaos.]]
* EnragedByIdiocy: Throughout the final level of ''Imaginators'' Brain starts growing more and more displeased with Kaos' incapabilities in using Mind Magic to stop the Skylanders, [[spoiler:and one of the reasons why he defects to the heroes' side is because he thought the Portal Master had a much more creatrive imagination than Kaos could ever have]].
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:Ends up becoming Skylands Academy's newest professor after Kaos is defeated, using his abilities to locate trouble across Skylands. Bonus points for only agreeing to the job to save himself [[GoodFeelsGood only to end up enjoying his new job]].]]
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: [[spoiler:Upon growing fed up with Kaos's verbal abuse, Brain turns on him and starts helping the Skylanders.]]
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: At the end of ''Imaginators'', after Kaos has been beaten, [[spoiler:Brain tries to high-tail it out of the scene before being captured by the Skylanders for helping Kaos]].
* SealedEvilInACan: Was locked in a jar by the other Ancients as punishment for brainwashing all of Skylands.
* TokenEvilTeammate: According to him, he is the last living piece of the Ancients. During their time, [[spoiler:Brain didn't like that the other Ancients' were unwilling to use Mind Magic for something greater and launched a spell all over Skylands that brainwashed every resident into becoming a mindless zombie that obeyed him. After the spell was broken, Brain was locked away so he couldn't spread his terror.]]
* TranquilFury: [[spoiler:The last straw for him to turn against Kaos is when the latter insulted Brain's lack of thumbs. And Brain barely raises his voice when he tells Kaos this.]]
* TheUnfought: Never fights the Skylanders directly, instead using his Mind Magic to power up Kaos.

[[folder:Malefor]]
!! Malefor
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skylanders_malefor1.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''“Summon every Skylander from the far corners of this world to stand before my might and be broken! I am Malefor! And I am magnificent!”'']]

The self-proclaimed Undead Dragon King; another carryover from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfSpyro''. He was first mentioned in the character bios of Cynder and Hex, but did not actually appear in ''Skylanders'' until the IDW Publishing comic series.

He was supposed to make his first game appearance in ''Ring of Heroes'' before the game got shut down.
----
* AllThereInTheManual: Most of what's known about him comes from the Skylanders' backstories, books and comics.
* ArchEnemy: To Spyro. [[spoiler:Because according to Malefor, he fought Spyro before. However, Spyro has no memory of ever facing Malefor prior to the ''Return of the Dragon King'' comic story arc, and Hex was known as the one who defeated him.]]
* BackFromTheDead: [[spoiler:Consumed the powers of Spyro, Cynder and Hex to resurrect himself.]]
* BadassBoast:
** Malefor delivers one upon his resurrection when he stands before the unconscious forms of Spyro, Cynder, Hex and Wallop:
--->'''Malefor:''' You are nothing before me, feeble Skylanders! Soon all of Skylands will tremble before the awesome might of Malefor, the Undead Dragon King!
** Delivers another one when he battles the forty Skylanders for the fate of the Skylanders Academy:
--->'''Malefor:''' Summon every Skylander from the far corners of this world to stand before my might and be broken! I am Malefor! And I am magnificent!
** He delivers another when his final battle with the Skylanders was at its climax :
--->'''Malefor:''' I told you, I am more powerful than ever. I have truly become the Undead Dragon King!
* BerserkButton: [[spoiler:When Malefor is struck by one of Wallop's Traptanium Hammers, which was AT FULL POWER. This was part of a plan to get Malefor's attention and make him angry enough to try and chase the Skylanders around. It did the trick.]]
* BigBad: Of the ''Return of the Dragon King'' IDW comic story arc, which also serves as his debut in the ''Skylanders'' franchise.
* CanonImmigrant: As stated, he originated in the ''Legend of Spyro'' continuity.
* CrazyPrepared: Unlike most villains in the ''Skylanders'' series, Malefor is very competent. As soon as he imprisoned Spyro, Cynder, Hex and Wallop, Malefor went straight to fulfilling his motive. He defeated an army of forty Skylanders and planned on destroying the Skylanders Academy to build a stronghold in its place before beginning his rule over all of Skylands.
* CruelMercy: [[spoiler:Does this to Spyro, Cynder and Hex. Instead of finishing them off there and then, Malefor has the three Skylanders, including Wallop, imprisoned as he wanted them to suffer the same pain and frustration they caused him.]]
* {{Cyborg}}: In addition to his PoweredArmor, Malefor converted himself into a cyborg to patch himself together after his fight with Hex, having a cybernetic tail and wings at the very least.
* {{Dracolich}}: Unlike his living self from ''The Legend of Spyro'' games, this Malefor is an undead dragon.
* EvilOverlord: He rules the underworld as the self-proclaimed "Undead Dragon King".
* GreaterScopeVillain: For Spyro, Cynder and Hex. In the past, Malefor corrupted many Skylands inhabitants into his servants including Cynder, and later hunted down Hex and caused her to become the Undead Skylander she is today.
* ItsPersonal: [[spoiler:Sometime after his defeat at the hands of Hex, Malefor targets Spyro, Cynder and Hex, the three very Skylanders who caused him so much pain and frustration than anyone else. He planned to make them suffer by using their powers he stole to destroy everything they knew and loved and wanted to make them watch as he was crowned overlord of all Skylands.]]
* KnightOfCerebus: [[spoiler:Considered to be one of, if not ''the'' most malevolent enemies Spyro ever faced (in ''and'' out of universe- his ''Legend'' counterpart nearly succeeded at destroying their world). As soon as he appeared in his comic debut, fans felt like they weren't reading a regular Skylanders comic anymore. The usual lighthearted atmosphere turns serious as soon as Malefor becomes a main threat.]]
* LittleNo[=/=]BigNo: Says this when he is being forcefully pulled over the edge of the Academy island towards the endless abyss of Skylands and when he eventually falls to wherever he may end up.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: As if Malefor wasn't already one, he gave himself the title "The Undead Dragon King".
* OneManArmy: [[spoiler:With the powers of Spyro, Cynder and Hex that he absorbed, he defeated an army of Skylanders, including the powerful Giants, at once with a single blow of his weaponized tail.]]
* PleaseIWillDoAnything: [[spoiler:When Malefor is tethered to the damaged Dread-Yacht and is being pulled over the edge of the island to the endless abyss along with the ship, he pleads to Calliope to help him. She refuses.]]
-->[[spoiler:'''Malefor:''' Calliope! Please help me! I'll do anything you ask! I'll send you back to your family! Whatever you want will be yours!]]\
[[spoiler:'''Calliope:''' All I want is to never see you again. Enjoy your trip, Malefor.]]
* PoweredArmor: [[spoiler:He constructed steampunk armor after his fight with Hex left him nearly destroyed. While it helps keep Malefor patched together, WordOfGod mentioned that the armor he wears stores magical energy which makes him even stronger than he used to be.]]
* PowerParasite: [[spoiler:In his comic debut, he absorbed the powers of Skylanders with a crystal Calliope created for him to make himself stronger and made him nigh-invulnerable.]]
* PutOnABus: After his debut in the IDW comics, Malefor doesn't make another full appearance in the main Skylanders games nor other related content, though he appeared as a Skystone cameo in ''Skylanders: [=SuperChargers=]''.
* TakeOverTheWorld: [[spoiler:Plans to rule Skylands as its overlord.]]
* TheDeterminator: Malefor will not stop until he is crowned king of Skylands and the greatest and most powerful of them all. Any obstacle or opposition he faces is simply a minor setback to him.
* TheUndead: Is the self-proclaimed king of the underworld.
* VillainousBreakdown: [[spoiler:See the PleaseIWillDoAnything trope above.]]
* VillainOfAnotherStory: He appears in a major role in the background stories of several Skylanders, is described as the Dragon King of the underworld, has a history with Cynder, and Hex is noted to have done battle with him, but never actually appeared in the story itself. [[spoiler:Malefor eventually made his debut in the comic story arc, Skylanders: Return of the Dragon King, where Spyro, Cynder, and Hex fought him again.]]
