!Heavy Cruisers (CA)
A detailed list of American Heavy Cruisers appearing in ''Pacific''. Compared to their Japanese counterparts, they specialize more in the artillery, gun control, and AntiAir department, tending to put less priority on their torpedoes, which later ships tend to trade-off entirely for more guns. Thus, they lean more towards supporting roles such as Carrier escorts, etc. Additionally, a lot of them are also equipped with radar, making them capable of night-fighting.

* AntiAir: One of their highlights as screening ships is their comparatively stronger Anti-Air capabilities compared to their Japanese counterparts, especially later in the war.
* CombatAndSupport: Specifically, they're more specialized towards supporting Capital Ships such as Aircraft Carriers and Battleships.
* JackOfAllStats: The primary difference between them and their IJN counterparts is the aforementioned focus on guns and gun control. Otherwise, they are pretty much similar to them in this regard.
* SailorFuku: All of the Treaty Cruisers' costumes are styled in a way that resembles a typical school uniform. The one exception here is Houston's costume, as detailed below.
* ThemeNaming: Named after American cities as per the US Navy standard.

[[folder: ''Northampton''-class Heavy Cruiser]]

* BlueIsHeroic: With the exception of Houston, they all wear blue blouses.

[[caption-width-right:223:"It's Lewis-ville!"]]

-->''"You want me to retreat? How about no."''

Named after the city of [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northampton,_Massachusetts Northampton, Massachusetts]], Northampton is the representation of the heavy cruiser USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Northampton_(CA-26) Northampton]]'', which spent most of her career accompanying American carriers such as Enterprise. She was sunk during the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Tassafaronga Battle of Tassafaronga]] in late 1942. She is depicted here as a young woman with white hair wielding a saber.

----

* BraidsOfAction: One of the more notable examples in this fanfic.
* CloudcuckoolandersMinder: To her younger sister Chester.
* ContemplateOurNavels: While her sisters also exhibit this tendency, she herself is the one that tends to do this the most in order to pass the time.
* DeclarationOfProtection:
-->"I'm the lead ship of the ''Northhampton''-class of heavy cruisers. As it is my intention to protect you, I'll never retreat!"
* {{Foil}}: One for Mikuma, in that they're the minder to their more ditzy sisters in addition to being more graceful and reserved.
* TheLeader: Fills this role amongst her sisters due to being the oldest and having a sense of responsibility.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Played straight due to the mysterious nature of ship girls.
* TokenReligiousTeammate: Explicitly Puritan, and the most religious among her 5 sisters.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The girly girl to Chester's tomboy.

!!! Chester (CA-27)
[[quoteright:242:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtropeschester22.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:242:"We're going with Looavul, right? "]]

-->''"Sir,sir! Chester's ready, willing, and able, sir!"''

Named after the city of [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chester,_Pennsylvania Chester, Pennsylvania]], she is the MoeAnthropomorphism of the cruiser USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Chester_(CA-27) Chester]]''. She is depicted as a short-haired girl with an EyepatchOfPower on her right eye.

----

* ADayInTheLimelight: A good number of the 4-komas (at least 3 of them) focus on her.
* BoyishShortHair: In contrast to her older sister's BraidsOfAction.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Even moreso than Maury. On the surface, she's an immature prankster who loves making fun of her younger sister as well as fooling around with other ship girls' weapons as if they were toys. But once you're past that, she's actually one of the most dedicated and loyal ship girls among the entire bunch.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Big time, in contrast to the more reserved Northampton.
* EyepatchOfPower: On her right eye, though she does have times where she switches it around.
* {{Foil}}: Arguably one for Mogami, in that they're ditzy and tomboyish for their bunch.
* GenderBlenderName: The most obvious example.
* GenkiGirl: The most energetic among her sisters, which fits her childish tendencies.
* HiddenDepths:
** She tends to get easily distracted and childish at times, even during combat.
** Her dedication and loyalty underneath her childish exterior.
* InnocentBlueEyes: Helps to strengthen her WomanChild status.
* JugglingLoadedGuns: A variation where she does this with ''torpedo tubes''. Hint: a certain battleship gets knocked out cold as a result.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Just like her older sister.
* TheNicknamer: Try to guess who and why.
* OhCrapSmile: Does this after accidentally hitting [[spoiler: Arizona ([[TheWoobie yes, feel sorry for her]])]] with Maury's shield.
* PerpetualSmiler: She's always in a cheerful mood.
* PluckyGirl: Very much so. She manages to remain cheerful even in the midst of battle.
* ThePrankster: Not as much as O'Bannon thanks to her immaturity getting in the way. Her main target usually being her younger sister Louisville for obvious reasons.
* {{Tomboy}}: As if the BoyishShortHair didn't indicate this.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The tomboy to Northampton's girly girl.
* UndyingLoyalty: One of her redeeming traits. In this case she'll pursue and finish a mission no matter how tired she is.
* WomanChild: The most immature amongst the US Navy ships. To the point she treats Maury's shield (which is loaded with ''live torpedoes'') like a toy (complete with obligatory theme song).

!!! Louisville (CA-28)
[[quoteright:272:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtropeslooavul17.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:272: [[RunningGag "It's Louisville- aw, fine...Whatever..."]] ]]

-->''"Don't let up your fire!"''

Named after the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisville,_Kentucky largest city in the state of Kentucky]], [[strike: Looavul]] [[strike: Lewis-ville]] Louisville is the personification of USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Louisville_(CA-28) Louisville]]''. Let's just say that pronouncing her name is... difficult and confusing, at best. Here she's depicted as a young brunette with a sidetail.

----

* TheAce: Surprisingly, given that she earned the most awards out of the five of ''Northampton''-class cruisers.
* BerserkButton: [[RunningGag Isn't it fairly obvious at this point?]]
* ButtMonkey: Well, with a name that debatable to pronounce, it's no surprise she ends up as this to her two sisters.
* TheChewToy: In-universe and between the authors, no less, mostly with regards to her name. Even more so in the [[http://i.imgur.com/z99VLIf.jpg accompanying 4-komas.]]
* FashionableAsymmetry: Her knee socks, specifically.
* OverlyLongGag: Is a borderline example considering most of her tropes are on the same subject matter.
* RunningGag: Her name getting pronounced wrong is this in spades. Also applies to the RealLife location too!
* SpitTake: Does this in a comic drawn by the main artist starring her and her two older sisters. [[SarcasmMode You can only guess as to why.]]

!!! Chicago (CA-29)
[[quoteright:238:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtropeschicago.jpg]]

--> ''"Bravely do or bravely die!"''

Named after [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago city]] of Chicago itself, she represents the fourth ''Northampton''-class, USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Chicago_(CA-29) Chicago]]''. She's depicted as a young woman clad in a 1940s-era police outfit, complete with an M1928 Thompson SMG (aka "The Chicago Typewriter").

----

* BornUnlucky: To boot, her historical counterpart's career was plagued with several unfortunate events, including a notoriously incompetent captain, and finally ending with her sinking in the Battle of Renell Island, the last major battle of the Guadalcanal campaign.
* HistoricalInJoke: Her getup and weapon is a reference to The 1920s and 1930s era Chicago, which was notorious for gang wars and violence. In fact, the Thompson's nickname, "The Chicago Typewriter", is a further reference to that era.
* MoreDakka: Again, thanks to the Thompson.
* {{Stripperific}}: Her costume is this in comparison to her other sisters.

!!! Houston (CA-30)
[[quoteright:232:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pacific_houston.jpg]]

--> ''[[UsefulNotes/FranklinDRoosevelt "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.]]"''

Named after the city of [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston Houston, Texas]], the fifth ''Northampton''-class cruiser is the ship girl version of USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Houston_%28CA-30%29 Houston]]''. Concept artwork depicts her as a {{Cowgirl}} wielding a revolver similar to the ones used by Nevada.

----

* AmericansAreCowboys: Cowgirl, in this case. She's the only ship girl so far to play this trope into effect.
* BolivianArmyEnding: How her historical counterpart met her fate.
* BornUnlucky: The first of the Northamptons to bite the dust.
* {{Cowgirl}}: A given, considering that she's based on city in Texas.
%%* CurtainsMatchTheWindow
%%* GeniusBruiser
* GirlishPigtails: Her hairstyle.
* TheGunslinger: Not unlike Nevada in this regard.
* HandCannon: The revolver she carries around is much bigger than the pair of single-action armies that Nevada uses.
* HiddenDepths: Underneath that HotBlooded exterior, she's actually a pretty quick learner and the most competent of the Northamptons when it comes to fighting the Abyssal threat.
* HotBlooded: Downplayed. She's still this as you'd expect her, but not to stereotypical trope-for-trope levels, as her bio would indicate.
* RedBaron: "Galloping Ghost of the Java Coast".
* SouthernFriedPrivate: Probably even more than Lousiana ''and'' Narwhal. She's actually a mix of this and SouthernFriedGenius.
* WorthyOpponent: To the Japanese, historically and to the IJN kanmusu.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: ''New Orleans''-class Heavy Cruiser]]

!!! San Francisco (CA-38)
[[quoteright:217:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pacific_san_francisco.jpg]]

--> ''"Yes, I know it's suicide! But we've got to do it!"''

Named after the city of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco San Francisco]], USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_San_Francisco_(CA-38) San Francisco]]'' is one of the most decorated ships of UsefulNotes/WorldWarII. ''Pacific'' depicts her as a red-headed girl with glasses.

* TheAce: Based on one of the most decorated ships of World War II. So this should rub off on her as well.
* TheBerserker: Her primary fighting style whenever she goes all-out.
* BornLucky: Survived the war with 17 battle stars, and a very successful career.
* ColorMotif: Red. Her eyes, hair, and clothes are all the same color.
* {{Determinator}}: Her quote above shows that even in the face of overwhelming odds, she won't hesitate to continue a mission.
* FieryRedhead: It even extends to her fighting style.
* GenkiGirl: Certainly gives off this impression from her artwork.
* GlassesPull: Whenever she [[LetsGetDangerous goes all-out in combat]], she does this. The question is how she manages to recover said glasses afterward.
* GranolaGirl: Everyone ''thinks'' she is this.
* LetsGetDangerous: See GlassesPull above.
* PurelyAestheticGlasses: Implied according to a STEC report. [[note]] This is due to the fact that she always removes them whenever she gets serious in combat. [[/note]]
* RedIsHeroic: She wears predominantly red clothing, and is firmly on the side of humanity.
* SailorFuku: So far, her uniform bears the closest resemblance to the trope proper.
* SoapboxSadie: Very much so. She'll lecture you on why you need to eat healthy, recycle, vote wisely, etc.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With Pennsylvania, mainly with regards to matters such as political and religious beliefs.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: ''Des Moines''-class Heavy Cruiser]]

!!! Des Moines (CA-134)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/desmoinespacific.jpg]]

Named after the city of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Des_Moines,_Iowa Des Moines, Iowa]], USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Des_Moines_(CA-134) Des Moines]]'' is the lead ship of one of the last all-gun type cruisers in the US Navy. Unlike most of the other ships featured in this fic, Des Moines is an immediate post-war design.
----
* InSeriesNickname: Daisy Mae.
* PhenotypeStereotype: Blonde hair and blue eyes, natch.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: The only USN Heavy Cruiser not to have SailorFuku-esque clothes. Instead, she gets what resembles an aviator jacket, shorts, and stockings complete with boots. It probably helps that she's not a pre-war "Treaty" Cruiser like the others.
[[/folder]]

!Battleships (BB)
A list of the battleships appearing in ''Pacific''. Compared to their IJN counterparts, most of the USN battleships with later hull numbers were more advanced by being constructed a bit before or during WWII - most of the Japanese battleships were laid down decades earlier and didn't had as good construction processes or good steel alloys. [[labelnote:Historical note]]Yamato and Musashi were the "youngest" battleships of the IJN fleet, while the ''Kongou''-class were the oldest. For a comparison, USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Wyoming_(BB-32) Wyoming]]'' and ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Arkansas_(BB-33) Arkansas]]'' of the ''Wyoming''-class were the oldest, with the ''Iowa''-class being the youngest.[[/labelnote]] That meant better armor, weaponry, better fire control, anti-air, more efficient engines, as well the advantage of radar with the radar rangefinder. Or well, pretty much better everything.

* MightyGlacier: All of them up until the ''[[LightningBruiser Iowa]]''-class.
* ThemeNaming: In this case, each and every one of them is named after a US state.[[labelnote:Historical note]]Hawaii and Alaska were US territories until 1959, thus their historical ships were heavy cruisers, not battleships. The only exception to the theme was USS ''Kearsarge'' (BB-5).[[/labelnote]]

[[folder: ''Florida''-class Battleship]]
!!! Florida (BB-30)

The shipgirl incarnation of USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Florida_(BB-30) Florida]]''.

----

[[/folder]]

[[folder: ''New York''-class Battleship]]
!!! New York (BB-34)

The personification of USS ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_New_York_(BB-34) New York]]''. Depicted as a young woman in a business suit.

----

* PhenotypeStereotype: Blonde hair and blue eyes and very much American.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: ''Nevada''-class Battleship]]
!!! Nevada (BB-36)
[[quoteright:288:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtropesnevada.jpg]]

--> ''"You don't look so tough."''

Nevada is the personification of the battleship USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Nevada_(BB-36) Nevada]]'', famous for being involved during the Attack on Pearl Harbor, in addition to her role in Europe. She is depicted as a young girl with twintails wielding a pair of revolvers.

----

* BadassCape: A black and red one in this case.
* BornLucky: Compared to her younger sister, she comes off as this.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Doesn't get her own 4-koma (yet, at least). Instead, she gets hers in [[http://www.hon-haka.org/archives/299 this blog]].
* ElitesAreMoreGlamorous / ItsRainingMen: Gets a complement of 101st Airborne Division-themed fairies.
* GirlNextDoor: Described by "November" as such. [[note]] More like the equivalent Chinese term, but GirlNextDoor is probably the closest there is to it based on the translations on danbooru. [[/note]]
* GirlishPigtails: Her defining feature.Which suits her small size, no less.
%%* GunsAkimbo
* TheGunslinger: Is known among the ship girls as a crack shot.
%%* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold
%%* IdiotHair
* ImprobableAimingSkills: This is based on her war record with regards to shore bombardment. During her time in France, she was noted for having a high hit ratio on her targets (in this case, the German defenses in Cherbourg).
* InnocentBlueEyes
* LittleBigSister: To Oklahoma.
* LittleMissBadass: Around the same height, and apparently age, as Enterprise, but just as skilled.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Mentions being an adult in her hon-haka entry. She even keeps a keg of what is implied to be alcohol in her room.
* PhenotypeStereotype: Blonde hair and blue eyes. Yup, definitely American.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: The pint-sized part partially stems from the fact that the ship class in question was small in comparison to their contemporaries. Despite this, she can and will devastate an enemy when given a chance. She is still a battleship, after all.
* RevolversAreJustBetter
* SoleSurvivor: The only one of her class to survive the war.
* UndyingLoyalty: One of her quotes implies this. Which is, in fact, also the motto of the US 4th Infantry Division. [[note]] Which the RealLife ship supported during the D-Day Operation. [[/note]]

!!! Oklahoma (BB-37)
[[quoteright:330:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtropesokie.jpg]]

--> ''"D-did that hit?"''

Oklahoma is the representation of the second ''Nevada''-class battleship, USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Oklahoma_(BB-37) Oklahoma]]'', one of two US battleships lost during the [[UsefulNotes/WorldWarII Attack on Pearl Harbor]]. She is depicted as a young woman with Native American motifs.

----

* BadassCape: Similar to the one worn by her sister.
* BigLittleSister: To Nevada.
* BornUnlucky: Well, she ''is'' the representation of one of two US battleships lost at Pearl Harbor. And her case is arguably ''worse'' than Arizona's...
%%* CurtainsMatchTheWindow
* ADayInTheLimelight: Finally gets some focus [[http://www.hon-haka.org/archives/607 here]].
* InSeriesNickname: Okie.
* NativeAmericans: Has them as part of her design. This is due to the state that she's named after, which is known for its influence by various Native American tribes.
* NiceGirl: Rivals Edsall in terms of kindness.
* SuperGullible: Well, she did believe [[UnreliableNarrator Pennsylvania's]] ramblings, after all...
* ShrinkingViolet: If the fact that she has trouble introducing herself in her hon-haka article isn't already a huge indicator...
* TheWoobie: Probably even worse than Arizona in this regard. While the former still retains [[PluckyGirl a cheerful and energetic personality]] (not to mention being an occasional ButtMonkey), she is, according to [[ThePrankster O'Bannon]], "completely unsure of herself", to the point that even the lightest of pranks could really hurt her feelings.

[[/folder]]

[[folder: ''Pennsylvania''-class Battleship]]
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Black hair and black eyes for Pennsy, Brown hair and brown eyes for Ari.
* InSeriesNickname: Pennsy and Ari.

!!! Pennsylvania (BB-38)
[[quoteright:229:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tvtropespennsy.jpg]]

--> ''"I needed some new gun barrels, commander. Thank you."''

Based on the USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Pennsylvania_(BB-38) Pennsylvania]]'', "Pennsy" (as the authors nickname her) is the lead ship of the two ship ''Pennsylvania''-class. She is depicted as a young woman wearing glasses.

----

* AlphaBitch: Her personality leans a lot towards this, especially at first impression.
* BornLucky: Compared to her [[TheWoobie younger sister]], she survived the Pearl Harbor attack with only light damage, and survived the entire war with a more or less successful career.
* BrainyBrunette: No surprise, given that the state she's named after is home to several Ivy-League universities.
* ADayInTheLimelight:
** [[http://www.hon-haka.org/archives/581 This article]], complete with UnreliableNarrator habit.
** She does get a more reliable blog post [[http://www.hon-haka.org/archives/624 here.]]
** Gets her own 4-koma alongside San Francsico [[http://i.imgur.com/8DVt8tF.jpg here]].
* {{Foil}}: To Nagato. Both of them are BornLucky SoleSurvivor battleships of their respective classes who both participated in the Crossroads atom bomb tests, while also losing a sister ship to a magazine explosion. Also, while ''Nagato'' eventually sank due to the damage from the Crossroads tests, ''Pennsylvania'' survived the tests (only to be sunk later in 1948).
%%* GeniusBruiser
* HairTriggerTemper: Seen to its full extent in her second hon-haka post.
* HotLibrarian: Probably intentional given what was stated above.
%%* {{Jerkass}}: ''Very.''
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Though, while normally acting {{Jerkass}} around others, she actually has a nice side once you know her enough. She also genuinely cares about the other ship girls' well-being.
* LadySwearsALot: Her hon-haka article confirms her as this, especially when angry or frustrated.
* LovableAlphaBitch: Once you do get to know her, she's actually a pretty nice person. Just make sure you have a lot of patience around her.
* PrimAndProperBun: Her hairstyle.
* SexySecretary: Certainly looks (and acts) like one.
* ShellShockedVeteran: Suffers from a variation of this thanks to her PastLifeMemories. Most notably with regards to her younger sister.
* SmallNameBigEgo: While she ''is'' famous for being one of the Pearl Harbor battleships (specifically, one of the few battleships to come out relatively undamaged), it's her combat career and reputation DuringTheWar that she tends to over-inflate.
* SoleSurvivor: Similar to Nevada's case, no less.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Normally a {{Jerkass}} around others, but won't hesitate to help a fellow ship girl in need when the going gets rough.
* UnreliableNarrator:
** Her portion in ''Pacific Vol. 1'' is full of exaggerated claims regarding her service DuringTheWar. STEC editors immediately point this out to the reader/s just in case they didn't know this.
** Her first article on hon-haka is practically full of it. Of course, STEC editors tell you to read it at your own discretion. The second article, while already fixed by STEC editors and all, still has shades of it remaining.
* VitriolicBestBuds: With San Francisco.

!!! Arizona (BB-39)

The MoeAnthropomorphism of the battleship USS ''[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Arizona_(BB-39) Arizona]]'', one of two battleships lost during the Attack on Pearl Harbor (the other being the aforementioned Oklahoma). Here, she's depicted as younger looking than her older sister Pennsylvania.

* ACupAngst: [[https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1870603?tags=jeanex Let this image]] explain. The image in question is from the ''Action Report'' supplementary material, which is full of various concept art and additional info.
* ADayInTheLimelight:
** Gets hers in a 4-koma explaining why she wasn't featured with any equipment in Volume 1, with [[http://i.imgur.com/GfsuXkL.jpg somewhat hilarious consequences.]]
** She gets a hon-haka article detailing the 74th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack [[http://www.hon-haka.org/archives/671 here]].
* BornUnlucky: Her entire career was full of brushes of almost getting scrapped. Then [[UsefulNotes/WorldWarII Pearl Harbor]] happened, where she was blown in half from an AP bomb, and has rested there since (she was too heavily damaged to return to service). And finally, despite being a battleship, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking her cup size isn't all too special]].
* ButtMonkey: In the accompanying 4-komas, no less.
* CoatCape: How she puts on her uniform.
* EasilyForgiven: Unlike her sister and several other ship girls, she's easily forgiving of the IJN kanmusu.
* {{Foil}}: To Mutsu. Both are the BornUnlucky battleships of their respective classes who were both lost to magazine explosions. Also, while ''Arizona'' was destroyed in the middle of combat, ''Mutsu'' was lost to an accident.
* NewTechnologyIsEvil: Believes this chiefly with regards to modernization and refits.
* PluckyGirl: For all the things that happened to her historical counterpart, she still maintains an aura of cheerfulness.

* CurbStompBattle: The fight between her and the Abyssal destroyer.
* {{Foil}}:
** To Yamato. Compared to the former, she looks more mature (and acts more mature), carries a similar albeit larger ParasolOfPrettiness which is blue as opposed to the former's red, and are the lead ships of their respective navies' largest and most powerful battleship class. And there's also the fact that they were more or less like hotels in comparison to the rest of their respective navies (''Iowa'' has a bathtub and elevator thanks to being the ship used to bring President UsefulNotes/FranklinDRoosevelt to Tehran, while Yamato was in fact often nicknamed "Hotel Yamato" thanks to her crew having better living conditions than on the other IJN ships.)
** To Fusou. Both are depicted as RavenHairIvorySkin classical beauties of their respective nations, but Fusou is the unlucky grand old lady from World War I, whereas Iowa is the lucky newcomer commissioned DuringTheWar. In their art, both of them even stand in the same crossed legs stance and do the same outstretched hand with fingers pointing down thing, [[http://kancolle.wikia.com/wiki/File:BB_Fusou_026_Full.png albeit on opposite arms.]]

* LadyOfWar: She maintains her gracefulness even in the middle of battle.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Looks quite different from her sisters for reasons that remain unknown as of this writing. Instead of the stereotypically Caucasian shades of blonde hair and blue/purple eyes of her sisters, she has brown eyes and long straight black hair that resembles a HimeCut. Combined with the outfit, accessories and colour scheme, it looks like the art team was trying to play the Iowa vs Yamato "rivalry" to the hilt and make her out-Yamato Yamato, a design choice absent from the others.
* ParasolOfPrettiness: A large blue one which internally houses her radar set, no less.
* PlayAlongPrisoner: She herself insisted that the Secret Service handcuff her when meeting President Truman.
* ProperLady: She certainly has the looks and grace of one. It could even be argued that she's everything [[Videogame/KanColle Akatsuki]] aspires to be, but falls incredibly short of.

* LightningBruiser: The ''Montana''-class battleships were meant to replace the already-fast ''Iowa''-class. They sacrifice some of their predecessors' speed, but are still slightly faster than the ''Iowa''-preceding ''South Dakota'' class.
* ShrugOfGod: When asked as to her canon status, Louisiana was declared as canon as Project G-15, a Japanese paper-ship design that was essentially an improved Taihou.
