Go To

Kirby has a smorgasbord of bosses that span its games, and while many recur across multiple games and generations in the franchise, more bosses are unique to their specific games, barring cameos here and there. [[Characters/{{Kirby}} Go here for the main character index.]]

[[folder: Heavy Mole]]

A large, one-eyed, brass robot that tunnels under the ground. Kirby follows and fights it from behind as it works through the dirt with its saw-like appendages and mouth.

----

* AutoScrollingLevel: The gimmick of the fight is that Kirby has to follow it as it tunnels, which depending on where it goes, can lead to BottomlessPits, or Kirby getting crushed if the player isn't careful.
* HiddenDepths: A rare, non-positive example combined with a {{Pun}} according to ''Avalanche'' Heavy Mole is a powerful Underworld figure who's known for underhanded tactics.
* FlunkyBoss: Fires off projectiles called Dygclops as an attack. Brown ones give the hammer ability, while red ones give Sleep, which, considering the nature of the fight, can be a death sentence.
* {{Overheating}}: A big machine like Heavy Mole would naturally heat up fairly quick and have to vent itself out at some point. Naturally, these points are where it slows down to cool and gives Kirby an easy chance of catching up and attacking.

[[folder: Nruff & Nellys]]

A large wild boar and boss of Big Forest, Nruff runs across a series of dilapidated bridges hung between a pair of hollowed out trees with his minions, the smaller Nellys.

----

* CompositeCharacter / InNameOnly: Nruff became more like Nelly after their first major appearance, gaining the juvenile back markings, losing the tusks, but keeping the eyes and name.
* DegradedBoss: The Boss of Big Forest in ''VideoGame/KirbysDreamland2'', Nruff became a normal enemy afterwards, to the point that in ''VideoGame/KirbyStarAllies'' hes a ''mount for [[{{Mook}} Waddle Dees]].''
* FlunkyBoss: The Nellys follow Nruff around to serve as ammo for Kirby.
* FullBoarAction: One of the earliest examples in video games at that.
* TurnsRed: After getting down to half health, Nruff begins mixing up his charging, and actively jumps from bridge to bridge mid-charge to confuse the player.
