!!Jaiden Dittfach
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jaidenanimations_jaiden.jpg]]

* AnimalMotif: There are references to birds in some of her videos; as shown by her pet conure, Ari. In her ''Pokémon'' videos, she's shown to possess bird-themed pokemon. In some videos; you can see 3 small bird tattoos on her right forearm.
%% Do not add Asexual to this trope list. It is a disambiguation, not a trope.
* BigSisterBully: Downplayed. She's admitted to using Jax as her scapegoat during their childhood but nothing too mean happened. Jaiden appears to have somehow played this role before Jax was even born since home videos of Lynn heavily pregnant with him had Jaiden force Hugo to film her stuffed crab instead.
* BornUnlucky:
** In her ''Pokémon'' videos, Jaiden tends to get ''horribly'' bad luck, be it getting absolutely terrible encounters in her Soul Link compared to Jacob, or getting dealt with nonstop {{Critical Hit}}s, [[spoiler: the latter actually causing her Platinum Nuzlocke to end in failure in real life before she even reached Cynthia]].
** WebVideo/{{Alpharad}} told a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL7LXpVK2UQ story]] on how, while gambling in Vegas, he deliberately went against her advice to bet on black for the roulette wheel, as he knew just how unlucky she is. However, this one time, her guess was correct, resulting in Alpharad losing $500.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** She starts off ''very'' socially awkward, being soft-spoken and her animations quite simplistic and straight to the point. After coming out about her depression and eating disorder, she's noticeably louder, snarkier and her animation includes more visual jokes.
** She's had an ItsAllAboutMe streak when she was a child, most of which she seems to have gotten over.
* ColorMotif: Her avatars, banners and profile pictures prominently feature the color purple. Her [=VTuber=] model even sports purple eyes on top of the expected purple clothes.
* DespairEventHorizon: She ''did'' actually cross it after the events of [=VidCon=] 2016, and ended up believing that her life no longer has any purpose, with the only reason she still goes on to this day being [[{{Determinator}} sheer willpower]].
* FailedASpotCheck: Jaiden deliberately refuses to get Ari's gender checked and it eventually causes a brief panic when Jaiden not only finds some bird eggs but also finds out that Ari and Tofu may have been secretly hooking up by pecking a hole in a drawer to make a nest for themselves. However, it's unclear if Ari was inseminating the eggs or was trying to make a nest as well in the drawer.
* GirlsLoveStuffedAnimals: In her own words, Jaiden ''loves'' "plushies, stuffed animals, whatever you call them"[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMh4VQBX2Ig/]]. According to Jacob, she's got two whole rooms worth of plushies and is ''still'' gunning for more. Of course, getting a sponsored gift of plushes of ''every gen 5 Pokémon'' didn't help either...
* HandSeals: Done by Jaiden once [[spoiler: to defeat [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZCbyzoNi3E Stormterror the dragon]].]]
* TheIngenue: She's basically an excitable, incredibly naive child in the body of a nerdy adult who ''really'' likes animations and video games. Not that it's a bad thing, in fact, it's what makes her endearing.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Mostly when she was a kid. There's a common theme through retellings of her childhood where young Jaiden seems to enjoy constantly hogging the spotlight.
* NiceGirl: She appears to have the awkward and anxious young adult persona, but has shown to be a nice and loving person.
* PlaceOfPower: She appears to have been a [[ChildProdigy master of Feng Shui]] as a kid, as she had found a chair that managed to give her good luck whenever she sat in it. Although, she doesn't have that chair anymore as an adult, so it wasn't able to bless her with good luck again when she attempted her ''VideoGame/CookingMama'' speedrun.
* StepfordSmiler: For a time, she struggled with severe depression and an eating disorder, but she still tried to present herself as happy. This infamously includes her now-incredibly uncomfortable-to-watch [=VidCon=] 2016 video.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: Being a self-admitted nerd, Jaiden primarily shows lots of interest in conventionally boyish activities, including [[GamerChick video games]] and anime, but she does have some traditionally girlish interests, such as a UsefulNotes/{{kawaisa}}-influenced art style and an [[AnimalLover obsession with animals]].
* VirtuousVegetarianism: She's vegan, with the timeline of events having some notable shifts. At first, she was nominated to do the 7 Day Vegan Challenge by [[WebAnimation/TheOdd1sOut James]], but she went into the challenge with an optimistic mindset, putting her AnimalLover nature to good use and finding compromises that produce similar-tasting experiences to if she was eating standard, animal-made foods. She started latching onto the vegan lifestyle, but this started to become problematic when she developed her eating disorder, which caused her to intensely regulate what she ate. Following her recovery, though, she still stuck to veganism, keeping the same optimistic mindset from the challenge and being content with her choices.
* VocalEvolution: In 2017, her voice was a higher pitch and softer. In the later years, her voice has become slightly deeper.

!!Lynn & Hugo Dittfach
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7f0ff4e7_8226_4b5e_aaad_59f300cc57b4.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Hugo (L) and Lynn (R)]]

* BumblingDad: Hugo has a tendency of being ''very'' accident-prone.
** In "Winter & My Traumatic Skiing Trip", Hugo unknowingly takes the [[FailedASpotCheck wrong ski lift]], which ends up stranding him and his kids at the mountain's peak. This mistake of his ends up causing Jax to accidentally tumble down the mountain starfish-positioned, screaming his head off on the way down.
** In "What my trip to Japan was like", when trying to navigate the airport, Jaiden, Lynn, and Jax end up losing Hugo for a good half an hour. Jaiden later admits that he (and Jax) really only cared about the food in Japan while she and Lynn were fully taking in the culture. Most tellingly, Hugo feebly attempts to find a local who can speak English, making himself look like a fool in the process.
** In "My Childhood Obsession with Animals", he ends up being easily startled by Jaiden making a DynamicEntry to ask if they can get a dog, causing Hugo to double back and fall on his back, and he gives into his urges to get Jaiden a dog just so she can shut up, getting her Scruffy for her 7th birthday.
* EekAMouse: Lynn has a fear of rodents, with her explanation being that she finds their tails weird.
* ExactWords: They use this against Jaiden when she thought that she could force her parents to get her one by writing it on her Christmas wishlist by giving her a computer mouse.
* FoolishHusbandResponsibleWife: Hugo often tends to [[DoomMagnet get himself into trouble]], gives into demands [[PushoverParents too easily]], and overall can be rather [[BumblingDad absentminded]] with how he tries to approach situations, whereas Lynn is much [[ToughLove stricter]], adamant that her children adhere to [[PrefersProperNames formalities]], and overall tends to be [[IronLady no-nonsense]] with a hint of being a DeadpanSnarker every once in a blue moon.
* TheGadfly: Lynn ''loves'' to remind Jaiden of her lisp she had as a child whenever they eat pasta for dinner.[[note]]''Pathta with no thauthe...''[[/note]]
* [[OpenMindedParent Open-Minded Parents]]: Both of Jaiden's parents are more than happy to help support her [=YouTube=] career, being [[SoProudOfYou proud]] that she's made such a big name for herself.
* PapaWolf: ''Both'' of Jaiden's parents have a {{downplayed|trope}} protective streak over her, as when she lands in Arizona to spend Christmas with them while she has hives, the two of them start ''panicking'', with Lynn frantically asking her how she got hives and if she's okay, while Hugo [[OverlyNervousFlopSweat profusely sweats]].
* ParentalHypocrisy: Lynn would often scold Jaiden for responding with "What?" instead of "Pardon?". Jaiden points out that she's not exactly practicing what she preaches since she herself often responds with "HUH?". To her credit, she gradually stopped bothering Jaiden about this after being mocked her for doing so.
* {{Pushover Parent|s}}: Hugo is much more weak-willed than Lynn, with him getting Jaiden her pet dog Scruffy in "My Childhood Obsession with Animals" just so she could stop pestering him, while Lynn is ashamed of him for giving in so easily.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Even with her openly supporting Jaiden's [=YouTube=] career, Lynn also takes the opportunity to bolster her ego through it, flaunting the fact that she's Jaiden's mom to her fans at conventions.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Both are designed to just be older versions of Jaiden and her brother Jax with black hair instead of brown.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: For most of Jaiden's life, Lynn was firmly against getting her any animals besides fish, including denying her a yellow-naped amazon parrot, but against all odds, Lynn ended up growing infatuated with Ari. Not that Ari [[ShrinkingViolet reciprocates]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Jaxon]]
!!Jaxon "Jax" Dittfach
[[quoteright:222:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1b252c8c_1af1_4423_8293_0c2d42ee944a.png]]

* AffectionateNickname: The affectionate part is downplayed, but Jaiden calls him Jax.
* BigLittleBrother: "What my trip to Japan was like" depicts him as taller than his older sister Jaiden.
* DressedToPlunder: His personal channel, [[https://youtube.com/c/JaxFilmsyeet Jax Films]], has a very distinct {{Pirate}} motif to it, with his {{Tagline}} being, "Exploring the Seven Seas."
* FlatCharacter: He's yet to do anything substantial other than being there.
* ICantDance: In "What my trip to Japan was like", he and Jaiden play ''[[VideoGame/DanceRush DANCERUSH STARDOM]]'' together at a Creator/{{Sega}} arcade, and he's shown to be a terrible dancer. This causes him to cover his face and laugh in embarrassment, while Jaiden collapses onto the floor in laughter.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Averted. In the first videos involving him, Jaiden refers to him by his first name, though by now he's just called Jax.
* SatelliteCharacter: Almost every appearance he's made in videos has him interact with other people and almost never do things by himself. The most he's done by himself was accidentally tumble off the peak of a mountain in "Winter & My Traumatic Skiing Trip".
* VagueAge: He's younger than Jaiden (23 years old) but the age difference has not been stated. "7 Day Vegan Challenge, baby (solves all yo' problems)", posted in 2016, shows him in his presumed late teens. Her childhood videos show him to be around 4 or 5 years her junior.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ari]]
!!Ari
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/830f9bf8_42e1_4127_bb8d_ccde39d56b08.png]]

* AmbiguousGender: Though Jaiden defaults to male pronouns, she admits at one point that she doesn't actually know if Ari's male or female; the only way to know for sure with conures is a blood test. Jaiden considered the possibility that Ari may have been the one to lay his and Tofu's eggs, but this was quickly debunked when Jaiden checked Tofu's cloaca. Since female birds can lay eggs without the aid of a male and Jaiden abjectly refused to let the eggs hatch, the ambiguity still remains.
* BirdPoopGag: Sometimes, this joke is used as a visual gag in Ari-focused videos. Also, an entire segment of a video was focused on this; specifically about Ari's habit of pooping as soon as he's let out of his cage in the morning.
* BreakoutCharacter: Arguably one of the main things that people often associate with Jaiden is Ari, who went from being a cute pet to essentially Jaiden's sidekick. He proved to be so popular, that for one, he appears alongside Jaiden in her card for {{WebAnimation/TheOdd1sOut}}'s game ''Cafe Chaos''.
* ADayInTheLimelight: There are several videos that are specifically about Ari.
* ADogNamedCat: Ari's name actually means "Eagle" in Nordic languages and "Lion" in Hebrew.
* EnmityWithAnObject: Ari has a tendency to dislike random objects, such as nail files and hair products. Also, when Jaiden fills up his water.
* JealousPet: He's really bonded to Jaiden and tends to see other people as competition for her love.
* MamasBabyPapasMaybe: Jaiden was never really concerned if Ari was male or female and discussed how you only confirm a birds gender through a DNA test. With that being said, Jaiden revealed that one of her birds had started laying eggs and wasn't sure if Ari is the father or the mother (until Jaiden checked their cloacas and confirmed Tofu was the one who laid the eggs) because birds can lay unfertilized eggs without the male to inseminate them. Jaiden has no intention of checking whether or not the eggs were inseminated by Ari and plans to just freeze them before they develop into a fetus.
* NoIndoorVoice: Justified, since he's a parrot.
* OfficialCouple: Unexpectedly with Tofu, Jaiden's second bird, with whom he fathered[[AmbiguousGender (?)]] a clutch of eggs that Jaiden immediately disposed of.
* PollyWantsAMicrophone: Averted, Ari can't talk.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: A tiny green-cheeked conure who acts like a little toddler.
* ShrinkingViolet: Except for Jaiden and Jaxon, he doesn't like interacting with humans.
* SmarterThanYouLook: While he can come off as immature and obnoxious, he's actually quite clever, as Jaiden found out the hard way after he and Tofu managed to secretly dig a hole in the back of a set of drawers for them to use as a nest.
* SpoiledBrat: Jaiden even calls him "the embodiment of a toddler".
* UsedToBeMoreSocial: When he was younger, he was fonder of getting attention from humans.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Pokémon Ruby'' Nuzlocke Team]]
!!Teriyaki the Torchic-->Combusken-->Blaziken
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3ed38ae0_0373_4f72_b627_ffd767a95681.png]]

* ActionGirl: She's a female, and she's a sucker for fighting.
* BloodKnight: Ever since she was a Torchic, she had a penchant for getting into battles, and showed no remorse for how many Pokémon she killed.
* TheExtremistWasRight: Jaiden calls her out for how many Zigzagoons she killed, but it turns out that she had every right to, since [[spoiler:one ends up killing Corn]].
* TheHero: She was Jaiden's Starter Pokémon, and ended up being the one to defeat [[FinalBoss Steven Stone]].
* APigNamedPorkchop: The Torchic line is based on chickens, and she's named after teriyaki chicken.
* PlayingWithFire: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She may be part Fire-type, but she rarely uses any Fire-type moves, and is more prone to using Fighting-type moves, per her secondary type.
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:She and Ari are the only ones who survive the Nuzlocke.]]
* WeUsedToBeFriends: Gary used to be Jaiden's Pokémon before he [[FaceHeelTurn defected]] to Steven Stone's side, making the fight against him all the more personal for Teriyaki.

!!Corn the Seedot-->Nuzleaf
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ff7d6b41_ad27_4c13_a6fe_6efc8b99e44d.png]]

* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Ends up taking it upon himself to save Zipzapzop from Winona's Altaria [[spoiler:from beyond the grave]].
* GlassCannon: He hits like a truck, but ended up leaning toward the edge of death three times; [[spoiler:dying on the third]].
* ReplacementGoldfish: Ends up replacing Onion the Breloom as Jaiden's Grass-type Pokémon [[spoiler:after Onion dies to Norman's second Slaking]].
* UndignifiedDeath: [[spoiler:While Jaiden was LevelGrinding, he was killed by a Pin Missile from a [[TheGoomba Zigzagoon]].]]

!!Ari the Taillow-->Swellow
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0c99cc84_e7f7_4a52_b66f_55cad57aca2a.png]]

* CutenessProximity: Jaiden smothers him with affection when he evolves, only for him to peck her in the eye.
* DoppelgangerSpin: Frequently uses Double Team to avoid being killed. Almost every time, it works.
* {{Mooning}}: Introduces himself to Jaiden by showing her his anus.
* OneSteveLimit: {{Averted|Trope}}. Jaiden named him after her own pet conure, Ari, because his [=PokéDex=] entry says he's "aggressive and screams when hungry."
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:He and Teriyaki are the only ones who survive the Nuzlocke.]]
* WeNamedTheMonkeyJack: He's named after Ari, Jaiden's pet conure.

!!Onion the Shroomish-->Breloom
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/23ce26bd_e6da_46a1_87d3_18217e3f7c4a.png]]

* CarnivoreConfusion: [[spoiler:After his death, when Jaiden says someone's just [[OnionTears chopping onions]], Norman's second Slaking is seen chopping him in half, revealing an onion layer inside of him.]]
* CerebusSyndrome: [[spoiler:His death is what signifies that the Nuzlocke is starting to take a serious turn.]]
* ShutUpKirk: Outside the Mauville Gym, Wally tries to show Jaiden how powerful he's become, but Onion shuts him up by using Bullet Seed.

!!Hush Child the Whismur
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20231026_075306.jpg]]

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Is forgotten about [[spoiler:after their death.]]

* SacrificialLamb: [[spoiler:They were used for a safe switch in into an opposing Meditite using High Jump Kick.]]

!!Chomps the Mawile
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_20230928_123558.jpg]]

* BornUnlucky: [[spoiler:He dies to a critical hit Thunder Shock from a Magnemite.]]

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Is forgotten about [[spoiler:after his death.]]

* DudeLooksLikeALady: Chomps looks feminine but is a male.

* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:Was killed while training for Wattson's Gym.]]

!!Squidward the Tentacool-->Tentacruel
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2441fece_0800_4007_a581_ef62b5ffc65b.png]]

* AllNaturalFireExtinguisher: A variation. After Zipzapzop gets scorched by Tate's Solrock, Squidward sprays him with his own water.
* BornUnlucky: [[spoiler:He ends up being killed by Maxie's Crobat due to its Wing Attack getting a low roll on the first hit, and a high roll on the second hit.]]
* NonIndicativeName: He's a jellyfish, but he's named [[WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants Squidward]], who is an octopus.
* PervertedSniffing: He was given his name because Jaiden intensely sniffed the back of his head.

!!Chad the Machop-->Machoke
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/9211c967_a30f_4bc8_b116_aa56a6d837ba.png]]

* DoesNotKnowHerOwnStrength: Accidentally knocks out a Wailmer with just one punch.
* GenderBlenderName: Jaiden names her "Chad" even though she's a female.
-->'''Jaiden:''' What? You're a female? ''[[{{Beat}} (beat)]]'' '''DID I STUTTER?'''
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: She acts like a standard girl most of the time, but when it comes to battling, she's shown to be a lot more fierce than she initially lets on.
* GonkyFemme: As a Machoke, Chad looks like a muscular man, but is drawn with feminine mannerisms and accessories such as a flower behind her ear or a mourning veil.
* MonsterInTheIce: [[spoiler:How she dies. She tries punching Glacia's Walrein, but it ends up using Blizzard in retaliation, causing Chad to freeze into an ice block starting from her hand.]]
* SamusIsAGirl: Having a bodybuilder design, Jaiden names her a stereotypically manly name, and only ''then'' realizes that she's a female.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: When Jaiden first finds her, she's wearing a flower on her head, and she points to it when Jaiden assumes she's male.

!!Gary the Anorith-->Armaldo
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/47726616_964a_444f_94a0_db11a1ea25d8.png]]

* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: What provokes him to leave Jaiden and become Steven Stone's Pokémon, as Sin the Dusclops was outshining him in every way possible.
* FaceHeelTurn: He evolves into an Armaldo off-screen and ends up joining Steven Stone's team, wanting revenge for being sacked from the team.
* FinalBoss: He's the last Pokémon who Steven Stone sends out, with Blubby and Teriyaki teaming up to take him out.
* OddNameOut: Gary is the only one who wasn't named by Jaiden, instead asking her friend for a name suggestion.
* OutOfFocus: Despite being on the team a lot after being resurrected from the Claw Fossil, Jaiden pays him very little attention, which comes back to bite her later.

!!Sperky the Electrike-->Manectric
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4017afe6_1cd2_4c05_babd_467eba1482da.png]]

* EleventhHourRanger: Jaiden only uses him following the Lilycove Gym battle, with it being the second-to-last Gym.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Ends up replacing Zipzapzop the Magneton as Jaiden's Electric-type Pokémon [[spoiler:after Zipzapzop dies to Tate's Solrock]].
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler:Ends up dying so that Blubby can finish off Steven Stone's Metagross.]]

!!Zipzapzop the Magnemite-->Magneton
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eb5450b1_623c_4bea_a338_0c68ad44aafd.png]]

* ChekhovsGunman: When Jaiden starts training Zipzapzop, she makes a huge rant about the sheer number of Marills she had to kill in order to get Zipzapzop up to par with the rest of the party. While she doesn't explain this (and might not have even realized it at the time), it was the HP [=EVs=] from those Marills that gave Zipzapzop enough HP to later just ''barely'' tank that quadruple-effective Earthquake with only 2 HP to spare.
* TheDyingWalk: [[spoiler:When Tate's Solrock melts Zipzapzop with Flamethrower, Zipzapzop weakly floats over to Jaiden until collapsing, before Squidward sprays him like a fire extinguisher.]]
* HeroicSacrifice: [[spoiler:How Zipzapzop dies, pushing Sin out of the way of Tate's Solrock using Flamethrower.]]
* LightningBruiser: Becomes this after killing 80+ Marills and having his HP [=EVs=] be raised up by a significant amount.
* SacrificialLion: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Jaiden was sure that he was going to die from Winona's Altaria using Earthquake, but he lives with 2 HP thanks to a combination of the HP [=EVs=] from the Marills he fought and Corn saving him [[spoiler:from beyond the grave]].
* TakingTheBullet: [[spoiler:He pushes Sin out of the way of Flamethrower from Tate's Solrock, which causes him to melt and die.]]

!!Sin the Duskull-->Dusclops
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dbe95dc6_d5a0_405a_9d96_87f6d280d3a1.png]]

* DarkIsNotEvil: He's a Ghost-type who likes to hide in the shadows, but he's more than willing to team up with both Zipzapzop and Squidward.
* MonsterInTheIce: [[spoiler:How Sin dies. After attempting to avenge Chad being killed by Glacia's Walrein, he dies the same way, only this time through [[OneHitKill Sheer Cold]] instead of Blizzard.]]
* ShutUpKirk: On Victory Road, Wally tries one last time to show Jaiden how powerful he's become, but Sin shuts him up by using Shadow Ball.
* StunnedSilence: Is absolutely taken aback when he sees [[spoiler:Zipzapzop dying for his sake]].

!!Blubby the Spheal-->Sealeo-->Walrein
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bd016e79_68fb_471a_bb60_24c20c8b4cad.png]]

* EleventhHourRanger: Blubby is the last Pokémon that Jaiden catches, finding her after beating the Lilycove Gym and grinding levels for Sperky.
* AllAnimalsAreDogs: Despite Walrein being the equivalent of a walrus, Blubby acts a lot like a house dog, panting and wagging her fin like a tail.
* GirlsWithMoustaches: She's a female, but because Walrein is design after a walrus, Blubby appears to have a moustache.
* MightyGlacier: Being an Ice-type aside, she can hit real hard and has tons of Defense, but her Speed leaves a lot to be desired.
* ReplacementGoldfish: Ends up replacing Squidward the Tentacruel as Jaiden's Water-type Pokémon [[spoiler:after Squidward dies to Maxie's Crobat]].
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: After [[spoiler:losing Chad and Sin to Glacia]], Blubby decimates Drake's team like it was nothing.
* SacrificialLion: [[spoiler:When Gary comes back for revenge, Blubby is only able to take two hits from him before going down, weakening him enough for Teriyaki to come in and finish the job.]]
* WarmHeartedWalrus: She's the ''Pokémon'' equivalent of a walrus and one of Jaiden's most loyal members, always having a goofy smile on her face when in Jaiden's presence.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:''Pokémon Platinum'' Nuzlocke Team]]
!!Turt the Turtwig-->Grotle-->Torterra

* GoneHorriblyRight: Jaiden attempts to catch a Gible in Wayward Cave, but Turt accidentally kills it by getting a Critical Hit with Bite. Even after catching Flakes later down the line, she still hasn't let it go, and Turt still feels guilty over it.
* GrievousHarmWithABody: When he was a Turtwig, Jaiden would constantly use him like a hammer to defeat her opponents.
* KillItWithFire: [[spoiler:In the Distortion Timeline, Turt is killed by Fire specialist Flint alongside Shrimp and See.]]
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:In the Champion Timeline, he, See, Flakes, Kronk, and Milk are the only starring party members who survive.]]

* ChekhovsGunman: [[invoked]]Similarly to Zipzapzop in the ''Pokémon Ruby'' Nuzlocke, Flakes manages to outspeed [[ThatOneBoss Cynthia's Garchomp]], when it seemed like he should've been outsped by it, but unlike in the ''Ruby'' Nuzlocke, where Jaiden doesn't consider the possibility of increased HP [=EVs=] from grinding Marills, she realizes that grinding Ponytas likely contributed to increased Speed [=EVs=].
* MirrorBoss: [[invoked]]In [[spoiler:the Champion Timeline]], Flakes goes toe-to-toe with [[ThatOneBoss Cynthia's Garchomp]], and winds up the victor thanks to increased Speed [=EVs=].

* FailedASpotCheck: Jaiden doesn't pay attention to an Ambipom using Screech on Franklin to lower his defenses, [[spoiler:leading to him getting killed by Double Hit.]]
* TheHero: Of the Team Rocket arc. After scaling up the entirety of the Goldenrod Radio Tower, Franklin is the one who delivers the finishing blow to [[BigBad Archer]].
* IconicItem: Flowers, seemingly the same kind that Chad was picking back in ''Ruby'', as Jaiden is shown in a flashback making a flower crown for him. [[spoiler:His grave is also given a single flower in commemoration.]]
* TheLeader: Is viewed as the de facto leader of Jaiden's team, providing much of the backbone.
* MyNewGiftIsLame: Whereas Jacob is presented with either a Torterra, Tentacruel, or Ludicolo as his Starter, Jaiden is presented with [[ComMons Wynaut, Mankey, and Ariados]]. She picks Mankey because it's the least-bad option.
* WeNamedTheMonkeyJack: He's named after ''Literature/{{Franklin}}'', since Jacob's Starter is a Torterra.

* InconsistentSpelling: Jaiden intended to name him "Michael", but both she and Jacob misspell it, landing on "Micheal".
* SacrificialLamb: [[spoiler:How he dies. When realizing that only Plapp could stand a chance against Chuck's Froslass and needs to be healed up, Jaiden sends out Micheal as death fodder, and he dies to a Critical Hit from Froslass' Ominous Wind.]]

* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: B'Drodo ''did'' end up evolving into a Croconaw, but this is only seen through a FlyingFace during Jaiden's switching proposition.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Jaiden offers to switch out B'Drodo with Plapp, so that Jacob exchanges his Beedrill for a Flaaffy, to which he agrees on, and B'Drodo is never used again.

!!Plapp the Piplup-->Prinplup-->Empoleon

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:How he dies. He Surfs Lance's Bastiodon, but this gives Bastiodon the prime opportunity to counter with Metal Burst, killing Plapp instantly.]]
* VictoryByEndurance: How Plapp won most of his battles as a Prinplup, with Jaiden heal-stalling until the opponents inevitably go down, particularly against Morty's Lugia and Chuck's Froslass.

!!Dilydoo the Cradily
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fc722aff_a8af_4a24_b8b0_5ff9d22290ca.png]]

* AlmightyJanitor: He was originally meant to be used as [[SacrificialLamb death fodder]], but ends up being TheHero who manages to defeat [[FinalBoss Lance]], and even manages to defeat Lance's [[OlympusMons Palkia]] on his own.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Initially, Jaiden never gave Dilydoo a chance, seeing him as [[SacrificialLamb death fodder]] that she accidentally never used, but upon bringing him into the Elite Four, he kills [[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu Lance's Palkia]] and defeats his [[MightyGlacier Azumarill]], securing Jaiden the win.
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: After Jaiden realizes that she's almost [[ThisIsGonnaSuck boned]] against Lance's Palkia, she sends out Dilydoo out of desperation, and via [[VictoryByEndurance endurance]], he knocks out Palkia [[AlmightyJanitor on his own]].
* {{Foil}}: To Gary the Armaldo. With Cradily and Armaldo being the Hoenn Fossil Pokémon, Gary was the FinalBoss of the ''Ruby'' Nuzlocke after [[FaceHeelTurn defecting]] from Jaiden's team to Steven Stone's team, whereas Dilydoo was the one who ''defeated'' Lance in the ''[=SoulSilver=]'' Nuzlocke and crowned Jaiden as Champion.
* TheHero: The one who ultimately defeats Lance and crowns Jaiden as Champion.
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:He and Barel are the only two starring party members to survive the Nuzlocke.]]
* WimpFight: His fight against Lance's Azumarill lasts 10 minutes, with the two futilely slapping each other.

* CollateralDamage: [[spoiler:How he dies. Jacob [[FailedASpotCheck doesn't pay attention]] to his fight against a Team Rocket Grunt because he's [[TheSnackIsMoreInteresting eating a chicken sandwich]], causing his Pupitar to die to a Golem's Earthquake, which takes Obamatar with it.]]
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: His Snow Warning ability causes Chuck's Froslass to activate her Snow Cloak ability, causing her to become twice as hard to hit.
* TakeThatKiss: Receives one from Chuck's Froslass, causing him to turn around in confusion.

!!Shuckie the Mewtwo

* EleventhHourRanger: Initially gets boxed because Jacob's Victreebel is the same type as his Torterra, but is eventually brought on to fight the Elite Four [[spoiler:following the death of Darphel]].
* OlympusMons: Is the first one Jaiden receives after Jacob had already encountered a whole bunch to that point.
* TheWorfEffect: [[spoiler:How he dies. Jaiden sends him out to deal with Lance's Palkia because the rest of her team is ill-prepared for it, but it dies turn 1 to a Critical Hit from Spacial Rend.]]

!!Darphel the Charmeleon-->Charizard

* TheBigGuy: Jaiden treats him as her signature Flier, as well as being a vital asset in the Team Rocket HQ.
* CounterAttack: [[spoiler:How he dies. Jan's Hitmontop uses Counter against Darphel's Fly, taking him out in a single hit.]]
* ImpromptuCampfireCookout: He uses his Flamethrower to roast marshmallows for Jaiden, Jacob, and Jacob's Donphan.
* TemptingFate: Jaiden tells Jan, who had [[PaperTiger been a pushover]] up until that point, that, "This is your last chance to kill one of our Pokémon, Jan." [[spoiler:He kills Darphel.]]

!!Barel the Nidoran♀-->Nidorina-->Nidoqueen

* BehemothBattle: Gets into one with Lance's Snorlax, who keeps spamming Giga Impact. Barel wins, but not by much.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: After [[spoiler:Plapp is killed by Lance's Bastiodon]], Barel comes out and kills Bastiodon using Revenge, with murder in her eyes.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: When Lance sends out his Azumarill, Barel looks visibly scared by it, only to then run away and let Dilydoo do the work.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: She ends up being the only female Pokémon on Jaiden's ''[=SoulSilver=]'' team, compared to a third of her ''Ruby'' team being girls, and half of her ''Platinum'' team being girls.
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:She and Dilydoo are the only two starring party members to survive the Nuzlocke.]]

!!Dodei the Entei

* EleventhHourRanger: As soon as Jaiden and Jacob are preparing to go to Victory Road, Dodei bursts out of the water in New Bark Town, and Jaiden catches him in a Master Ball.
* CollateralDamage: [[spoiler:How he dies. Karen's Machamp uses Cross Chop on Jacob's Dodrio, and combined with its No Guard ability and a Critical Hit, Dodrio is killed, which takes Dodei with it.]]
* OlympusMons: Is the second and final one Jaiden receives after Shuckie the Mewtwo.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:He's caught right before fighting the Elite Four, and once getting to the Elite Four, he's the first of Jaiden's Pokémon to be killed on her final team. His gravestone even says, "That was quick".]]

[[folder:''Dungeons & Dragons'' Characters]]
!!Zoot
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5810.png]]

A Dragonborn who accompanies Paul, Tholomew, and Luap on their personal journies. Played by Jaiden.
----
* AcidAttack: Their primary method of attack is Acid Splash, which they fire as a BreathWeapon from their mouth.
* ArmedWithPepperSpray: Their go-to physical weapon is Mace, a bottle of pepper spray.
* BreathWeapon: All blasts of Acid Splash are fired from their mouth.
* DraconicHumanoid: Being a Dragonborn, they're draconic in nature with a very humanlike body.
* EmotionBomb: Casting Depression causes Zoot to lock Mark into a state of complete despair.
* NominalHero: It's made clear that Zoot has no heroic aspirations, and is mainly just along for the ride.
* ShapeshiftingSeducer: By using Disguise Self, they're able to transform themself into Mark's ex-wife, Ella, to get close to him.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: They're able to speak to animals by using a spell that's needlessly destructive in the process. Oddly, this spell doesn't work on Goblins.
** Goblins aren't classified as animals in D&D but as humanoid monsters which is why it doesn't work.

!!Paul
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5811.png]]

The assistant manager at Ye Olde Mart o' Wal, who's looking to take out his upper manager, Mark, to allow for upward mobility. Played by WebVideo/{{Alpharad}}.
----
* AerithAndBob: In a world filled with people whose names are fictitious-sounding, his name is just... Paul.
* BadassNormal: Unlike Zoot and Tholomew, he doesn't have any magical abilities, but he's an absolute master with a greataxe, even after it's peeled in half.
* BigOlEyebrows
* EarnYourHappyEnding: [[spoiler:Manages to defeat Mark and is able to reunite with his long lost son.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: He's the only one who's appalled by Zoot playing with Mark's emotions just so they can get a cheap shot on him.
* {{Expy}}: Of Larry from ''VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet''.
* TheGenericGuy: He's the most basic person out of all the party members, which makes him stick out in a HighFantasy setting. His animated look is even pretty blatantly based on fellow so-generic-it's-hilarious guy [[Characters/PokemonScarletAndVioletPaldeaCharacters Larry]].
* IronButtmonkey: Besides Luap, Paul takes the brunt of the slapstick through the session, with him getting pepper sprayed, turned into a zebra, and stabbed in the leg by the Peeler. Despite this, he keeps getting back up and never complains.
* OnlySaneMan: He comes off as this, to the point of being the only one who doesn't laugh at Zoot toying with Mark's emotions to hit him with acid.
* PreAsskickingOneLiner
-->'''Paul:''' Looks like the manager position just opened up.
* SpeaksFluentAnimal: He's the only one of the group who's able to communicate with Goblins.
* TheStoic: He rarely ever changes his expression from a dull, uninterested grimace. Even getting pepper sprayed or transformed into a zebra doesn't shake him. And according to LetsPlay/{{Slimecicle}}, this also extended to Jacob, who was ''so'' in-character during the whole session, Slime was legitimately worried he wasn't having fun (he was; he's just too good at acting).
* TokenHuman: While Zoot is a Dragonborn and Tholomew is a Tabaxi, Paul is the only party member who's explicitly human.

!!Tholomew
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5812.png]]

A [[TheParanoiac paranoid]] Tabaxi who believes they're stuck in a GroundhogDayLoop, and looks to take out their neighbor, Thompson, to free themself. Played by [[https://m.youtube.com/c/Ranboo Ranboo]].
----
* BigGood: While the session is from Zoot's perspective, they're the de facto leader of the group who unites them under a root cause.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: PlayedForLaughs. They appear to be friendly enough, but the ending all but implies that they mistreated Thompson for petty, disproportionate slights whilst acting like the victim themself.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Temporarily, thanks to the clay crown attaching itself to their head. They're freed when Paul knocks the crown off their head.
* CatFolk: As Tabaxi are humanoid, sentient cats, they're this by default.
* CombatMedic: In addition to their fighting capabilities, they're also the group's designated healer, healing up Luap after he's taken a beating in trying to get the wand.
* FelonyMisdemeanor: Their reasons for hating Thompson essentially amount to this.
-->'''Tholomew:''' This is for everything! The [[UngratefulBastard low tax return]], the [[DramaticIrony restraining order]]; for [[FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence moving in next to me]]! YOU'RE MY PERSONAL HELL!
* MaliciousSlander: They're stated to have spread multiple false rumors about Thompson, which led to his wife divorcing him.
* MusicalAssassin: They use a pair of bongos and a bagpipe as their means of attack, using them to cast Shockwave.
* TheParanoiac: Their defining personality trait is that they're a NervousWreck, constantly believing Thompson is out to get them, and being overly observant of everyone and everything around them.
* SelfServingMemory: Nothing they say about Thompson is true; they're all fabrications so they can have an excuse to take him out.

!!Luap/[[spoiler:Paul Jr.]]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5814.png[softreturn]Paul Jr.[[/labelnote]]]]

A human who was [[ForcedTransformation cursed into becoming a sheep]], and joins the group in the hopes of turning back into a human.
----
* AccidentalMisnaming: His name is Luap, but Zoot keeps mispronouncing it as "Lop".
* TheChewToy: He's battered and bruised while trying to get his hands on the wand to turn him back.
* LukeYouAreMyFather: [[spoiler:He's actually Paul's missing son, Paul Jr., which the former doesn't know about until he's transformed back.]]
* SdrawkcabName: [[spoiler:Luap isn't his actual name; it's spelt backwards to obfuscate the fact that he's Paul Jr.]]
* TeamPet: He shares this role with Paul Jr., before ultimately taking it after Paul Jr. [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse disappears from the plot]].
* YouthfulFreckles: [[spoiler:As Paul Jr., he has freckles on his face to denote the fact that he's 6 years old.]]

!!Paul Jr.
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5815.png]]

Zoot's pet turtle who was named by Paul.
----
* AdviceBackfire: They try to have Zoot guess "turtle" as the answer to the Riddle Door's riddle, even when Paul and Tholomew have already determined that the answer is "worm".
* ReplacementGoldfish: [[spoiler:Turns out Paul ''isn't'' a GiverOfLameNames; they're named Paul Jr. in memoriam of Paul's missing son.]]
* TeamPet: Originally shared this role with Luap, before disappearing from the story altogether.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: After the fight with the clay monsters, Paul Jr. unceremoniously disappears from the plot.

!!Mark Thompson
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5816.png]]

Tholomew's neighbor and the manager of Ye Olde Mart o' Wal, who's become a Dark Mage to exact revenge on Tholomew for ruining his life.
----
* AndIMustScream: Implied -- his ultimate fate is to be turned into a worm and placed in a jar by Paul, and the wand disintigrating after the adventure's done makes it unlikely for him to be changed back. His reaction to Paul firing him implies that he still retains his human mind in this form, though it's unclear if he can still talk or not.
* BaldOfEvil: His hair is noticeably thinning, and he's the main villain of the story.
* BigBad: Being Paul and Tholomew's ArchEnemy and being the final obstacle of the session, he serves the role of the villain.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: Despite remembering everything about his beef with Tholomew, he doesn't understand what he did that caused Paul to antagonize him.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: What keeps him from being an AntiVillain despite all Tholomew did to him is that he horribly mismanages Ye Olde Mart o' Wal, which caused Paul's life to be even more miserable than it already is.
* DefeatByTransformation: He's defeated when Tholomew transforms him into a worm.
* FatBastard: He's got a pronounced beer belly, and is the BigBad.
* ForcedTransformation: He's ultimately defeated by Tholomew using the wand to transform him into a worm.
* IfICantHaveYou: Says this near-verbatim about the wand after Zoot uses Acid Splash on him.
* {{Invisibility}}: He's able to cast Invisibility to make him impossible to spot.
* KilledMidSentence: Downplayed as he doesn't actually die, but he transforms into [[RunningGag a worm]] (implicitly with his identity and memories intact, given his reaction to Paul firing him) in the middle of asking [[MemeticMutation "Would you still let me be your manager, even if I was a-"]][[invoked]]
* TragicVillain: Tholomew spreading false rumors about him due to their rampant paranoia caused his wife and child to leave him, which turned him into the corrupt manager he is now. Zoot disguising themself as Ella nearly causes him to have a change of heart.
* TwoAliasesOneCharacter: Paul knows him by his {{first name|basis}}, Mark, while Tholomew knows him by his {{last name|basis}}, Thompson. The two people they're searching for turn out to be the same guy.

!!The Dungeon Master
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5817.png]]

The god of the world who leaves fate up to the roll of a d20. Played by LetsPlay/{{Slimecicle}}.
----
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Even he found Zoot toying with Mark's emotions to Acid Splash him to be hilarious.
* GameMaster: Being the Dungeon Master, he's naturally the one overseeing the world created in the game.
* TheGodsMustBeLazy: Despite being the god of the world, he doesn't cause any sort of divine intervention beyond controlling fate via a d20.
* TheMaker: He's described as being essentially the god of the world seen in the game.
* SlimeGirl: A rare male example. He's depicted as a green slime creature taking a humanoid shape. Obviously a pun on Slimecicle's moniker.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He's rather irrelevant to the plot, but everything that happens in the game is by his command and the rolling of his d20.

[[folder:Guests]]
!!Jordan Comeaux ([=ThePivotsXXD=]) & Kelsey ([=AntiDarkHeart=])
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/b559a7c6_dc75_4cd2_bb39_fa37747aa69c.png]]
[[caption-width-right:350:Jordan (L) and Kelsey (R)]]

* AccidentalMisnaming: When setting up Ari's birthday party, Jaiden accidentally refers to Kelsey as "Gelsey", with her on-screen name being changed to reflect it.
* AmbiguousGenderIdentity: {{Invoked|Trope}} with Kelsey. She goes by any pronouns, so her design in Jaiden's videos is intentionally made androgynous.
* {{Animal Lover}}s: Not as pronounced as Jaiden, but they, too, own a conure named Baby Jim, who ended up becoming Ari's best friend.
* {{Best Friend}}s: The two of them are Jaiden's best friends and directly appear the most in stories out of all her friends.
* BizarreTasteInFood: Her experience with Baby Jim has apparently caused Kelsey to be a taster of bird food, as she's willing to try out a piece of Ari's bird cake. [[ItTastesLikeFeet ...She doesn't like it.]]
* CreatorCameo: Jordan is one of Jaiden's animators, so whenever he appears in a video, he qualifies as such.
* CuteClumsyGirl: Kelsey is somewhat accident-prone, as shown by her accidentally causing bag of confetti to explode from [[WithCatlikeTread trying to gently open it]], and not knowing how to properly blow a party blower.
* IHaveManyNames: Kelsey also goes by the name of Chase, but Jaiden always refers to her by the name Kelsey.
* SavvyGuyEnergeticGirl: {{Inverted|Trope}}. Jordan is the much more bombastic of the two, with Kelsey being more reserved and analytical.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Jordan and Kelsey are almost never seen without one another in stories.

!!James Rallison (WebAnimation/TheOdd1sOut)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beecb2eb_2499_4b11_accd_936b75ccb4ce.png]]

* ArtShift: Any animation of James done on Jaiden's channel is specifically drawn in his art style, which is similar to hers, but not exact.
* ColdHam: Compared to his own channel, where he's a full-blown LargeHam, he makes his trademark over-the-top quips in a much more relaxed tone.
* DeadpanSnarker: Not necessarily to Jaiden herself, but has a tendency of {{MST}}ing her old childhood videos.
* {{Seinfeldian Conversation}}s: Most of his conversations with Jaiden are very low-key and tangential.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: He had nominated Jaiden for the 7 Day Vegan Challenge and offered to help her come up with strategies, which led to Jaiden fully embracing veganism after the fact.

!!Carson King ([=CallMeCarson=])
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2ab8cad0_e224_4c67_be87_32a65b73906c.png]]

* DissonantSerenity: Being [[KillItWithFire set on fire]] doesn't do anything to keep him from running away from oncoming arrows.
-->'''Jaiden:''' You're on fire.\
'''Carson:''' [[MajorInjuryUnderreaction Don't talk about it.]]
* TheMainCharactersDoEverything: Their collab was meant to help Jaiden beat ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'', but Carson did almost all of the heavy lifting, which Jaiden {{lampshade|hanging}}s repeatedly. Her trophy at the end of the video spells it out perfectly.
-->'''I BEAT MINECRAFT'''
--->'''but Carson did all the work'''
* MetaphorIsMyMiddleName: He claims that "Careful" is his middle name. ...Which [[BadLiar isn't true]] in the [[LeeroyJenkins slightest]].
* NoSenseOfDirection: Until Jaiden found it by complete accident, Carson got completely lost searching for the Warped Forest.
* PutOnABusToHell: Following some real-life scandals, Carson was phased out of Jaiden's videos, and [[DistancedFromCurrentEvents their collab was delisted]].[[invoked]]
* ThatCameOutWrong: Carson tries to keep Jaiden from falling into a lava pit, suggesting she should [[StayInTheKitchen go cook something]]. He [[ExplainExplainOhCrap immediately realizes]] the implications of what he just said, but when Jaiden suggests a reckless plan and he [[LampshadeHanging calls her out on it]], she says that she's gonna [[IronicEcho go cook something]].
* TricksterMentor: He offered to help Jaiden beat ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'', but in true Carson fashion, he also took the opportunity to [[TheGadfly mess with her]]; notably by [[TeeteringOnTheEdge shoving her into a ravine]].
-->'''Carson:''' [[BlatantLies It was an accident.]]

!!Jacob Rabon IV (WebVideo/{{Alpharad}})
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/37824194_6f98_461b_865a_56cb2e69df96.png]]

* AdaptationalNiceGuy: Jacob is nowhere near as much of an UnsympatheticComedyProtagonist as he is on his own channel, usually being a good friend to Jaiden who happens to be a bit reckless.
* AscendedExtra: Went from a semi-recurring cameo in a few of Jaiden's videos, to the deuteragonist of the [=SoulLink=] Nuzlocke video, to her real-life roommate.
* BlackHoleSue: PlayedForLaughs. Jacob's BornLucky status is represented through everyone in Johto (besides Jaiden) bending over backwards for him, be it Professor Elm showing favoritism for him with the starter selection, a security guard handing him an {{Olympus Mon|s}} in the form of Regigigas, Chuck handing him a lollipop before going to town on Jaiden, his various Legendary captures immediately growing attached to him, Lance giving him regal attire when he becomes Champion, so on and so forth. Any misfortune that happens to Jacob is his own fault (ex. accidentally killing three Pokémon in a row or being distracted by a chicken sandwich) rather than fate taking the piss out of him. {{Lampshade|Hanging}}d by Jaiden multiple times.[[invoked]]
-->'''Jaiden:''' Jacob had no trouble at all, because he's Jacob.
* BornLucky: Carrying over from his own channel, Jacob has a tendency to get ''extremely'' lucky, especially when compared to [[BornUnlucky Jaiden]]. Of note, he caught a grand total of ''five'' OlympusMons, had three fully-evolved Pokémon as starter choices, and got much easier randomized boss fights.
* ButtMonkey: By the end of ''Mario But I'm Blindfolded'', Jacob is left mentally exhausted from guiding Jaiden around haplessly all day.
-->'''Jaiden:''' I had a great time playing my favorite video game. Did ''you'' have fun?\
'''Jacob:''' ...
* CollateralDamage: With the exception of [[spoiler:Obamatar and Dodei]], all his Pokémon that die in the [=SoulLink=] Nuzlocke do so because their counterparts on Jaiden's team perished.
* {{Crossdresser}}: Just like on his own channel, Jacob has a tendency of crossdressing. Here, he dresses himself as Lyra, the female PlayerCharacter from ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver HeartGold & SoulSilver]]''.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Jacob is rather infamously reckless in ''Pokémon'' on his own channel, and this resulted in him killing ''five'' very good encounters and [[spoiler:directly led to Obamatar the Pupitar's death]]. Come the Champion fight however, and he managed to power through a very powerful gauntlet of Pokémon ([[MyFriendsAndZoidberg as well as a Ledian and Plusle]]) with a team consisting of just four ComMons. Without losing any of them, and all in the time it took Jaiden to defeat three Pokemon, no less.
* {{Irony}}: Out of the five OlympusMons Jacob caught, he got to use ''none'' of them while [[ThrowTheDogABone Jaiden brought two]] to the Elite Four. Better yet, his own Elite Four team consisted of primarily ComMons.
* PlatonicLifePartners: Jaiden refers to him as her "best buddy" in the video where they went to Japan and it certainly shows in their interactions throughout the video.
* RunningGag: Jacob finding far, ''far'' better encounters than Jaiden... which he then accidentally kills.
* TheSnackIsMoreInteresting: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}. Jacob doesn't pay attention to his fight in the Goldenrod Radio Tower because he's busy eating a chicken sandwich, which causes [[spoiler:Obamatar, his Pupitar, to get killed by a Golem's Earthquake, resulting in Jaiden's Abomasnow getting killed, too]]. The [[spoiler:gravestone]] says it all.
-->'''Sorry I got distracted by chicken sandwich, friend :('''
* SpannerInTheWorks: When Jaiden was speedrunning ''VideoGame/RhythmHeaven'', Jordan and Kelsey offered to mute themselves to let her focus, only for Jacob to join the Discord call completely unannounced and nearly cost Jaiden the run by inadvertently distracting her.

!!Jan (Pokémon Challenges)
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0634dd7b_ebf9_49dd_8739_f45dfea55f2e.png]]

* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Jan's reaction to being depicted as TheRival was a combination of laughter and being flattered.
* AdaptationalJerkass: On his own channel, Jan at his worst only really veers into InsufferableGenius territory. Jan as the rival to Jaiden and Jacob is depicted as far more cruel and petty, [[spoiler:going as far as to kill one of their Pokémon himself]].
-->'''Jan:''' [[LampshadeHanging ...Why am I so mean?]]
* AffectionateParody: Jan, who had been making critiques of their Nuzlockes, provided the name for the rival in the [=SoulLink=] Nuzlocke, with Jaiden making it clear that she had no intention of offending him with it. Jan himself reacted to the video later and found it ActuallyPrettyFunny (with his one quibble being that Jaiden mispronounced his name, which Jaiden apologized for in the comments of his reaction).
* TheDreaded: Was chosen as the rival in the [=SoulLink=] video specifically because both Jaiden and Jacob were on the receiving end of his critiques in the past. The two spend the entire remainder of the video fearing his wrath any time they make a mistake.
* {{Foil}}: To Jacob. While Jacob is happy to coast by on his BornLucky status and falls on the "performer" side of the TechnicianVersusPerformer dichotomy, Jan [[ChallengeSeeker prefers to challenge himself as much as possible]] and is very much a "technician". The two have gone on to become [[SitcomArchNemesis self proclaimed rivals]] and [[FriendlyRivalry give each other advice]] on how to become better Nuzlockers and YouTubers respectively. Hilariously, these differences cause him, Jaiden, and Jacob to shuffle roles during his [=SoulLink=] with Jaiden where she coasted through White 2, Jan suffered through an extra hard ROM Hack of Black 2, and Jacob didn't participate but was feared for his inevitable mocking reaction.
* PaperTiger: Jaiden and Jacob are absolutely ''scared'' of Jan wiping out their entire team, especially in the Burned Tower where he has a [[OlympusMons Mew]], but he ends up being a pushover in ''every'' battle they face him in. [[spoiler:{{Subverted}} in his last appearance, where he manages to kill their Charizard-Donphan pair.]]
* RageBreakingPoint: After Jaiden taunts him one too many times, one of his eyes flashes open in sheer rage before [[spoiler: he kills her Charizard.]]
* ScaryShinyGlasses: A couple times in his IRL caricature, but {{averted|trope}} with his rival design.
* TeamRocketWins: Despite him losing every fight he has with Jaiden and Jacob, Jan ''does'' manage to get one small victory by [[spoiler:knocking out their Darphels with {{Counter|Attack}}, which, [[ContrivedCoincidence fittingly enough]], Jan in his reaction mentions is one of the scariest moves to encounter in a Nuzlocke]].
