!!Gadget Boy
--> Voiced by: Don Adams

* AdorablyPrecociousChild: He often acts mature and has a large vocabulary even though he's just a child.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: Thanks to NegativeContinuity, it's frequently contradicted whether Gadget Boy is a cyborg or a robot.
* BadassAdorable: Gadget Boy can be this when he manages to stop Spydra's minions via competence.
* CatchPhrase: "Zowsers-bowsers" and "Knowledge is power".
* IdiotHero: He means well, but he's also extremely gullible and dim-witted.
* NoNameGiven: Gadget Boy is all he is ever addressed as.
* VagueAge: He is implied to be a toddler in the first episode, but the rest of the series suggests that he may be older.

!!Agent Heather
--> Voiced by: Creator/TaraStrong

* DeadpanSnarker: In the Adventures in History season, she tends to make dry remarks about the mistakes made by the historical figures she runs into.
* HartmanHips: She's very bottom heavy.
* HyperCompetentSidekick: She is the one who saves the day because of Gadget Boy being a dimwit.
* OnlyOneName: Her last name is never revealed.

!!G-9
--> Voiced by: Creator/MauriceLaMarche

* DoAnythingRobot: He can change himself into anything.
* RobotDog: He's a robotic dog.
* TheUnintelligible: He is only able to communicate by making strange noises. As a result, Gadget Boy frequently misunderstands him.
** IntelligibleUnintelligible: Agent Heather, however, understands him just fine.

!!Chief Strombolli
--> Voiced by: Maurice [=LaMarche=]

* ButtMonkey: Even without Gadget Boy unknowingly giving him misery, he just can't go 30 seconds without suffering a misfortune.
* ComedicUnderwearExposure: A running gag has him losing his pants as the result of an explosion, revealing his underwear.
* DaChief: He occasionally loses his patience with Gadget Boy's bumbling.
* MrExposition: Like Chief Quimby before him, his main role is to explain to Gadget Boy what Spydra is up to.

!!Myron Dabble
--> Voiced by: Maurice [=LaMarche=]

* AllLoveIsUnrequited: He has a crush on Agent Heather, but she is either unaware of his affections or is blatantly annoyed by them.
* ChildProdigy: He once mentioned that he graduated from college when he was seven years old.
* FunnyForeigner: Subverted. He at first appears to be a Swiss inventor, but the episode "Back to the Vulture" revealed that he was born in Cleveland and that he talks with a Swiss accent because he moved to the Swiss Alps when he was young.
* MadScientist: He's not exactly insane, but his inventions can be pretty odd.

!!Spydra
--> Voiced by: Louise Vallance

* AddedAlliterativeAppeal: She always insults her minions using alliterations.
* AmbiguouslyHuman: With her six arms and concealed hideous face, one has to wonder what she really is.
* BadBoss: She constantly abuses Boris the Vulture and her henchmen Mulch and Hummus. She doesn't even bother to try telling Mulch and Hummus apart in spite of both of them having slight differences in appearance and having completely different voices.
* BaldOfEvil: She is seen maskless from behind in "Gadget Boy and the Great Race", during which she has no hair visible.
* BigBad: She's the main villain.
* Butterface: A particularly extreme example. Her body is very curvaceous, while her unseen face is apparently hideous enough to turn people into stone.
* CatchPhrase: "I'll get you yet, Gadget Boy!"
* DelusionsOfBeauty: She calls herself supremely beautiful, but the only characters who seem to sincerely agree are the spider aliens from "The Day the Gadget Boy Stood Still", who while apologizing at the end mention that they were too seduced by her beauty to think straight.
* EnfantTerrible: She wasn't any better when she was younger. A flashback in "A Gadget Boy Christmas All Around the World" shows that she was mean to Boris even when they were kids and footage of her when she was a baby shown in "Pirate of the Airwaves" shows her stealing the other babies' bottles.
* EvilLaugh: She constantly cackles and even does so in the show's opening.
* TheFaceless: Spydra's face is always concealed by a facemask. The reason is because her face is so hideous that seeing it will turn you into stone. Her face is always obscured by foreground objects or a DiscretionShot, but if "Gadget Boy and the Great Race" is anything to go by, she apparently has pale skin and is bald.
* TheGrinch: The ChristmasEpisode of Adventures in History had her attempt to alter the histories of major Christmas traditions in order to eliminate the holiday entirely.
* Jerkass: She constantly insults her goons and is rude to every civilian she encounters.
* LargeHam: She always speaks loudly and dramatically.
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: She has six arms.
* MysteriousPast: Very little is revealed about her origins. Flashbacks to her childhood show her already having six arms, even as a baby.
* Narcissist: Though her real face is ugly, she believes herself to be very beautiful.
* NoIndoorVoice: She always screams her dialogue.

!!Boris the Vulture
--> Voiced by: Maurice [=LaMarche=]

* ButtMonkey: Is always abused by Spydra.
* DeadpanSnarker: He sometimes makes remarks about Spydra's nasty attitude and egotistical tendencies.
* FurIsClothing: One episode had him wearing a pair of boxer shorts underneath his feathers.
* LameRhymeDodge: He frequently insults Spydra behind her back, and tends to say something that vaguely sounds like his insult to cover it up when she glowers at him.
* PsychopathicManchild: He is sometimes shown having childish interests, like watching a parody of Barney the Dinosaur.
* VileVulture: He is a vulture who is Spydra's sidekick.
* VillainousGlutton: He frequently complains about never getting a decent meal, but when he does eat, he is shown to have a rather voracious appetite, especially in the episode "Boris for President".

!!Mulch and Hummus
--> Voiced by: Maurice [=LaMarche=]

* BaldOfEvil: Neither of them have any hair.
* CatchPhrase: Hummus frequently says "Next time, I..." whenever he is upset about Mulch having the better disguise/weapon/whatever.
* CreepyTwins: They're nearly identical, though Hummus has a slightly bigger nose and a larger bottom lip, as well as both twins having notably different voices.
* DumbMuscle: They serve as Spydra's brawn and are complete nitwits.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Hummus' voice appears to be based on that of Peter Lorre.
* PaperThinDisguise: They would wear one in almost every episode. In the Adventures in History season, their disguises became more blatantly conspicuous because they had a tendency to wear costumes that were not appropriate for the time and place.
