Their retaliation for Shelly trying to run down Ali is pretty tame by comparison, though it's implied they were going to burn down the barn had Jason not gotten involved. They come off more as goofballs than anything and clearly enjoy each other's company. Finally Ali comes to Chris' rescue in the climax of the film. Whether these guys are genuinely bad news or just miscreants is pretty up in the air.
