!! Universe 9 (第9宇宙, ''Dai kyū Uchū'') / The Improvised Universe (姑息の宇宙, ''Kosoku no Uchū'')
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/u9.png]]
Universe 9 is the home of the Trio of Danger, a trio of fighters that were rivals against Universe 7 in the exhibition matches before the Tournament of Power. This universe is handled by the God of Destruction Sidra, and the Supreme Kai Roh. They form a twin Universe with [[Characters/DragonBallUniverse4 Universe 4]].

In the multiverse ranking, they are the worst handled universe out of all twelve. They are even known as "the improvised universe" due to this. The symbol of Universe 9 is [[MalevolentMugShot the face]] of TheLeader of its team in the Tournament of Power: Bergamo the Crusher.

----
* AdaptedOut: In the anime, the Exhibition matches were between Universe 7 (Goku, Gohan, and Majin Buu) with the Trio of Danger. In the manga, however, the Trio weren't adapted for the Exhibition match, since the Gods of Destruction are the ones who fight during said matches. The manga does gives Sidra the opportunity to show how he fights, so that's not too bad.
* ActionSurvivor: Pretty much how to survive in this universe, as the Trio of Danger acknowledge. No wonder they're a bit [[SmugSuper haughty.]]
* AdaptationalWimp: Everyone is weaker in the manga, and they have a less climatic show-off. Roselle and Comfrey however get to show more of their skills.
* BittersweetEnding: [[spoiler: While Universe 9 ends up being revived alongside the other erased universes, the last shot we see of them is standing on a shattered cliff with the embers of a fire swirling through the air. Practically all the characters have sad or neutral faces (except Sorrel); compare to most other universes, whose resurrected fighters are shown quite happy at this turn of events. Yes, everyone in Universe 9 is alive again... but their universe is still a "steaming trash heap," to use Bergamo's words.]]
* BreakTheHaughty: During the Tournament of Power, the universe 9 fighters and their Supreme Kai have a pretty high opinion of themselves and think they can't lose. [[spoiler: Of course, this doesn't stop them from being the first to lose.]]
* CessationOfExistence: [[spoiler:Their fighters, gods, and entire universe are erased from existence when they lose the tournament.]]
* CrapsackWorld: Implied with them having the lowest mortal level and negative reputation. It is quite telling that once some inhabitants discovered the universe was in danger of getting destroyed by the Omni-King, they started a planet riot. The Trio of Danger outright acknowledge how crappy their universe is, and credit their teamwork for allowing them to survive in it.
** The mortal level of Universe 9 is 1.86, almost the half of Universe 7, which has 3.18. This means either of two things: the universe is either severely underpopulated by intelligent life, or -- equally likely due to Sidra's indecisiveness -- ''over''-populated, with too many weak races dragging the universal average down.
* DeaderThanDead: [[spoiler:After all of their fighters are eliminated, the Zenos promptly annihilate everyone aside from Mohito. The assassins they sent to Universe 7 may have been erased as well, considering how when Universe 10 gets erased, even objects from the universe are erased as well. Averted as they come back to life after the Tournament of Power thanks to Android 17.]]
* ADeathInTheLimelight: [[spoiler:In the first two episodes of the Tournament of Power, Team Universe 9 are a particularly aggressive and active force to be reckoned with, with the second episode in particular completely focusing on them as the antagonists. Said second episode also sees every single one of them eliminated over a few relatively small slip-ups. In the manga, only the second chapter focuses on them, but they're still eliminated rather quickly.]]
* {{Foil}}:
** To Universe 4, their twin universe. In terms of Supreme Kais, both are very prideful and cocky, yet Roh [[AdaptationalJerkass (in the anime at least]]) is a prideful jerkass, while Kuru is much less unpleasant. Quitela is also the more unpleasant God of Destruction as compared to Sidra, who resorts to dirty tricks. Both also had similar methods of sending groups of fighters to Universe 7, but while Roh sent 8 of their fighters against Goku and Vegeta (the other two got taken care of by different fighters at the same instance), Universe 4 sent them in groups of 2-3 so they would last generally longer as opposed to getting erased on the spot like Universe 9 did. Plus, Universe 4 focuses on deceit and trickery (with the exception of three warriors), while Universe 9's warriors are more outright brute and rough, with even the Trio de Danger talking about their universe's conditions at one point.
** Their population is that of Universe 2's general population. Both of their groups found out that their universes were on the line when the Tournament of Power came to be. When citizens from Universe 9 found out their universe was at stake, what did they do? A lot of them riotted and ransacked their home planets hoping that they'd escape from their universe. This is a huge contrast from Universe 2's, who knew that their universe was on the line in the tournament, and even advertised their fighters during Ribrianne's initial scene. Universe 2 was also hopeful the whole way through, [[spoiler:even going out with a smile after Universe 2 was finally defeated]], while [[spoiler:Universe 9 ... it's implied that there were more riots based on shots that showed when Universe 9 got erased]].
* ICantSenseTheirPresence: Shin, the Supreme Kai of Universe 7, basically says this word for word about [[spoiler:Universe 9's Gods Ro; and Sidra after Universe 9 as a whole is erased.]] Cue Whis responding to Shin's remark with...
--> '''Whis:''' [[spoiler:Of course, to be erased is to become nothing.]]
* {{Irony}}: Their Supreme Kai acts like a Destroyer and their Destroyer acts like a Supreme Kai. U9 would be better off if Roh was the God of Destruction and Sidra the God of Creation. As it stands, they are the worst universe of the 12.
* MassOhCrap: [[spoiler:Everyone is terrified when their universe is about to be wiped out, except the unconscious Trio of Danger, [[FaceDeathWithDignity Sidra]] and [[SoleSurvivor Mohito]].]]
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: While Sidra is indecisive and Mohito is callous, both are extremely pissed when they stumble on a planet that is in full revolt after they learned that the universe was going to be erased. Desperate and bloodthirsty people start murdering everyone in a large city and try to find a way to escape to a different universe since they realize that their warriors are weak. Sidra ''erases'' the whole city and everyone in it a la Sodom and Gomarrah making it the biggest use of Hakai in the entire series. Mohito even smiles about the erasure. It's hard not to sympathize with the guy when he is unsurprised/pleased (depending if you read the manga or watch the anime respectively) when his universe gets erased.
* OvershadowedByAwesome:
** Poor Universe 9 gets hit by this hard. Much like Universe 6, the Trio of Danger are very strong with Lavender and Bergamo particularly having unique abilities that can disable or match the strongest fighters in Universe 7. However, the power difference with Buu, Gohan and Goku is just too much for them to overcome. Lavender did the best out of the three by getting a tie match with Gohan, while Basil scored some points by drawing first blood in the actual tournament. Heck, the other fighters proved to have no gripes with working with each-other and prove to be exceptional at teamwork until their pride gets in the way.
** As a group, they are all very formidable and dangerous opponents. Their strategy, especially in the manga (where they had no grudge against Universe 7), is to overwhelm and outnumber various opponents in a way to put them in a huge disadvantage. Said opponents have to be careful whether to use all of their energy against them or not, especially when conserving for the rest of the tournament. They even gave Gohan and Piccolo (manga)/Vegeta and Goku (anime) trouble at first, but they can get easily mowed down if their sync (anime) is broken or if a fighter chooses to go all out against them (Frost). It comes to say when Piccolo finally faces Bergamo himself, the Namekian beats him offscreen.
* OutOfFocus: None of the fighters appear in the 9th ending, which includes even Rylibeu from [[Characters/DragonBallUniverse10 Universe 10]] who was the first to be thrown out. [[spoiler:Take a wild guess as to why...]]
* RageBreakingPoint: Roh loves the idea of being tough, Sidra is reluctant to destroy things, and Mohito is dispassionate. Upon seeing an entire planet riot and a city being destroyed when told about the Tournament of power, Roh watches it in bug eyed rage, Mohito is gritting his teeth and shaking, and Sidra obliterates the entire city with a Hakai without a second thought.
* SacrificialLamb: Was introduced in much the same way as every other universe, but [[spoiler:ultimately they are there to show the Zenos were serious about the threat of erasing losing universes.]] Universe 1's Supreme Kai lampshades this. The manga also designates them as the first erased Universe as well.
--> '''Anato''': Universe 9's erasure... was a necessary sacrifice. The universes that would have been arbitrarily erased by Zeno were given a chance to survive thanks to Son Goku. But, once defeated, they must be erased to balance the levels of all universes. That is the purpose of this Tournament of Power.
* SelfFulfillingProphecy: Quitela told Sidra that Universe 7's team would go after them first to eliminate them. Because of his lies, they end up going after Universe 7's team and end up eliminated first themselves.
* ThemeNaming: All the fighters are named after herbs, either edible or medicinal. Given this is also Universe 4's naming theme, it serves to show just how lazy Universe 9 is. Adding to that, all of their names are taken directly from the plant and not hidden behind anagrams or puns. (Most blatant with Ganos and Oregano, who are both named after the same herb.)
* ThrowTheDogABone: While they are the weakest of the twelve universes, they have the honor of drawing first blood in the Tournament of Power thanks to Basil.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Sorel and Hop are the only female members of the entire universal team.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: They have a serious case of this, since they think Universe 7's fighters will be a total pushover in the exhibition match and later thinking Frieza could be easily destroyed with the power of a God of Destruction.
* VillainousValor: [[spoiler:They're more a bunch of smug supers than actual villains, but it's hard not to find yourself rooting for the team when their chances of victory are slim. In fact, they're the first universe to be wiped out, effectively making their efforts a last stand.]]
* WorldOfFunnyAnimals: Much of the population of Universe 9 are anthropomorphic animals, with the Trio of Danger and the assassins sent to go after Frieza being canine-like. The Trio of Danger is more wolflike, while the assassins are more doglike. With the exception of Oregano and [[WhenTreesAttack Hyssop]], all the fighters for the Tournament of Power are anthropomorphic animals. This even shows up on the sigil for their universe on Zeno's [=godPad=], which is a stylized wolf's head.

->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Yasuhiro Mamiya
->'''Voiced by (English):''' Greg Dulcie
->'''Voiced by (Latin American Spanish):''' Alejandro Villeli

Sidra is the God of Destruction of the ninth universe. Very indecisive and has a hard time motivating himself to destroy any planets, and sometimes get depressed over it.

He was designed by Creator/AkiraToriyama.
----

* BarrierWarrior: Of all of the Gods of Destruction, he specializes in barriers.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: He doesn't talk much since Ro; [[SmallNameBigEgo tends to do all the talking]]. However, he is still a God of Destruction, and when he does lose his patience, he 'Destroys' an entire city without a thought. He is also okay with letting [[spoiler: Frieza join his team, despite [[EveryoneHasStandards Roh]] being vehemently against it since Frieza is not only a villain, but he's a traitor to his own universe]].
* TheDitherer: His indecisiveness is what leads to Universe 9 to having the lowest mortal ranking among all universes.
* EdibleThemeNaming: Like the other Gods of Destruction, his name is a play on a drink. His name is the Spanish word for '''cider'''.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His first appearance in the manga clearly demonstrates his indecisiveness where upon encountering a crapsack planet and calculating that it has no chance of recovering, his response is to destroy it...but not before double checking his calculations just to make sure.
* EveryoneHasStandards: Feels Roh giving Basil PowerUpFood and Basil's brutality, as a result, is a bit much. However, [[spoiler:he's not above sabotaging Universe 7 with Roh, although it's more due to manipulation from Quitela. He's also not above recruiting [[TheSociopath Frieza]] onto his team if he thinks it will grant him an advantage.]]
* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler:When Universe 9 and all its inhabitants are erased, he calmly accepts his demise while everyone else that is still conscious reacts in abject terror.]]
* {{Foil}}: He is one to Beerus. Sidra is cold and calculating, only destroying planets that he extensively researches and concludes are beyond saving. However, he is also very undecisive, wasting time double checking his work instead of acting. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that his calculations are hinted to always be correct the first time around. Beerus on the other hand is very decisive when he destroys planets, but he usually destroys them for incredibly petty reasons and on a whim. Both of them are a big part of why their respective universes are so terrible.
* GreenEyedMonster: A lot of his animosity towards Goku seems more like jealousy that he's close to Zeno. Beating up his best fighter probably didn't help those feelings either.
* ManlyFacialHair: Has a pretty epic beard, befitting his theme, and is a God of Destruction, and thus one of the strongest beings in his universe. Of course, his indecisiveness makes him one of the least competent Gods of Destruction, making this sort of downplayed.
* NiceGuy: He comes off as this compared to the other Gods of Destruction since he hates destroying and feels bad when he does cause destruction. However, this is shown to be a bad trait. As a DestroyerDeity, it is necessary to destroy to bring balance to the universe and gods like Iwen, Arack, Liquiir, and Geene show how this can be done in an efficient manner.
* OneHitKill: Like Beerus, he can use the ''Destroy'' technique to atomize anything with just a word and a hand gesture. In his case, he's shown using it to destroy an ''entire city''.
* OurDwarvesAreAllTheSame: Is modeled after a dwarf. Given Beerus evokes imagery of [[Myth/EgyptianMythology Bast and Anubis]], Sidra also brings to mind Bes.
* TokenGoodTeammate: {{Deconstructed|Trope}}: He is a God of Destruction, but his [[AllThereInTheManual character profile]] indicates that he can hardly destroy anything due to his indecisive personality. He also doesn't seem to have the smug attitude of [[SmugSnake Ro;]] or the [[ArrogantKungFuGuy Trio de Dangers.]] During the Tournament of Power, he doesn't scold any of his fighters once they lost, with the exception of Roselle for throwing himself out of the ring, in contrast with both Rumsshi and Quitela. However, his indecisive personality and the guidance of a rotten Supreme Kai like Roh has led Universe 9 to have the lowest mortal level.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: [[spoiler:He thought the amount of Energy of Destruction he gave his assassin was sufficient to destroy Frieza. It wasn't.]]
* UnwittingPawn: He's tricked by Quitela into assassinating Frieza with the lie that Universe 7 was planning on eliminating his universe first in the tournament. Quitela has Sidra use assassins to hide his involvement, but the true intent is to have Sidra be the one to act in the first place. If Zeno gets wind of the attempt, Sidra will take the fall and Quitela can deny any part in it.

->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Creator/HikaruMidorikawa
->'''Voiced by (English):''' Creator/HowardWang
->'''Voiced by (Latin American Spanish):''' Moisés Iván Mora

The angel serving Sidra. Exasperated by his loser God of Destruction and Supreme Kai.
----
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Gives an uncomfortable smirk [[spoiler:when Universe 9 is wiped out, although it could just simply be that he doesn't have to deal with the incompetence of Roh and Sidra anymore]]. He then shrugs while keeping that expression of his.
--> '''Mohito:''' Oh well. I guess, as liaison to Universe 9, that means [[spoiler:I'm the first out]]. ''[shrugs]'' Well, I suppose that's to be expected.
* CantLiveWithoutYou: Notably {{averted|Trope}}. Angels will "stop functioning" once their attendee God of Destruction is killed. [[spoiler:When Sidra got erased, Mohito was just fine, at least in the World of the Void where the tournament is taking place.]]
* DullSurprise: Is said to "look at things very dispassionately". All he does is smile during the Exhibition matches between Universe 9 and 7, and he never says anything. That said, he does show genuine shock after seeing Super Saiyan Blue for the first time, and grunts in irritation after seeing a planet revolt. [[spoiler:Even his words after his universe's erasure are given in a monotone voice, like he doesn't even care. Though it's probable that he saw it coming since he dealt with Sidra and Roh's incompetence for literal ages.]]
* EdibleThemeNaming: His name is a one letter off spelling of the cocktail, ''Mojito''.
* InformedAttribute: He is supposed to be very smart, but never shows it. Though that could indicate that he's just smarter than the other inhabitants of Universe 9, since he knows their [[spoiler: attempts to sabotage Universe 7 are poorly thought out and doomed to fail.]]
* PsychoticSmirk: [[spoiler:He gives a small smile to himself after Universe 9 is wiped out.]]
* NotSoStoic: Literally starts shaking in rage when a city ends up in full revolt and he takes grim satisfaction [[spoiler:from it and, eventually, his universe being destroyed.]] It's hinted that he's so stoic because he just knows after billions of years that his universe is just hopeless and just disappoints him constantly.
* TheQuietOne: He is not a man of words. He didn't say a word during the exhibition matches between Universe 9 and 7. Even Marcarita said something during Toppo fight with Goku. During the planetary revolt, he only asked why it was in that state, and only waited until Sidra destroyed the city to move on.
* SilentSnarker: {{Downplayed|Trope}}, [[TheQuietOne as he can still talk]], but during the conversation between Roh and Sidra were having to stop Universe 7 from reviving Frieza for the Tournament of Power, he simply smiles, as if he knows their plan will amount to nothing.
* SoleSurvivor: [[spoiler:He is the only character associated with Universe 9 who is not killed by the Zeno-samas. He comes off as rather pleased by this turn of events (in the anime). He sighs in the manga instead.]]
* SurroundedByIdiots: Never said explicitly, but it's clear that he feels upset and mad before each act of incompetence of the members of his Universe and Sidra.
* TranquilFury: The incompetence of his team leads to the population of a planet revolting when they discovered the universe was going to be erased, and all he does is grunt in annoyance. The Trio de Dangers immediately apologize to him.
* VisibleSigh: In the manga, he just sighs after his universe is erased as opposed to smiling.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Roh]]
!!'''Roh (ロウ)'''
[[quoteright:230:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img04.png]]

->'''Voiced by (Japanese):''' Creator/YasunoriMasutani

->'''Voiced by (Latin American Spanish):''' Jorge Ornelas

The Supreme Kai of Universe 9.
----
* AccidentalHero: His decision against recruiting Frieza indirectly saves the entire multiverse.
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: His universe may be a hellhole in both the manga and the anime, but he's far more of a jerkass in the anime as compared to the manga. In the manga, he's actually concerned about the life of several failing planets and agrees to let them get destroyed if they're far from saving.
* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:He's a total jerk, but it's hard not to pity him when he and his entire universe are wiped out and all he can do is be completely terrified.]]
* AssholeVictim: Considered one of the most jerkass gods and [[spoiler:his future counterpart was strongly implied to have died along with the other Supreme Kais as a part of Goku Black's genocidal rampage to eliminate all opposition from all of the other gods. And then his universe becomes the first to be wiped out.]]
* CantLiveWithoutYou: His life is tied to Sidra's and thus he'll die if Sidra does.
* CardCarryingVillain: Outright calls his universe, and himself by extension, "treacherous".
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Said indirectly by [[spoiler:Goku Black]]. He is a spiteful, rude, jerkass who belittles everyone around him, but not even he would have approved of Project Zero Mortals. This is why [[spoiler: Goku Black killed his future counterpart along with the other gods]]. He is also disgusted when he looks up [[spoiler: Frieza]] on Godtube and sees that he blows up planets willy-nilly. While he does want to take out Universe 7, he is also shocked by how much of a scumbag [[spoiler: Frieza]] is.
** When Frieza tries [[spoiler:to get himself recruited into Universe 9's team, Ro; is against it because Frieza is appalling even by their standards]]. To Ro; [[spoiler: Frieza is not only an unrepentant evil villain, he's a traitor to his own universe]].
---> '''Roh:''' Our universe may have [[CrapsackWorld a well-earned reputation for depravity]], but [[AxCrazy that lunatic]] is too much even for us! He's a psychopath [[LackOfEmpathy who doesn't care]] if his own universe gets destroyed!
* GiverOfLameNames: He announces all the nicknames and such for his universe's fighters and their attacks. Everyone from the Grand Minister on down finds them tacky. Roh may not be the one who actually named them, but he gets the mockery all the same since he sees nothing wrong with bragging about them.
* GoodCannotComprehendEvil: While it's a bit of a stretch to consider him "good," Roh expresses the belief that even the most heinous of people [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes have someone or something they hold dear and wish to protect]], and is genuinely shocked that [[spoiler: [[TheSociopath Frieza]]]] literally doesn't care about anyone or anything but [[ItsAllAboutMe himself]], to the extent he's willing to betray all of Universe 7 for his own benefit.
-->'''Ro''': How could you? Even the most despicable of villains has something which they hold dear and wish to protect! A loved one? Cherished memories? A precious place from one's childhood, even?\
[[spoiler:'''Frieza''']]: Excuse me, my good man: I simply do ''not'' understand what it is that you are prattling about.
* GoodColorsEvilColors: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. While not exactly evil, Roh is a complete jackass for a Supreme Kai, and like Zamasu, has green skin with purple clothes. Unlike Zamasu, who has gray eyes, Roh has purple eyes, which help him to stand out among all the other Supreme Kais, who have black eyes.
* {{Greed}}: Pretty much his first line in the series is asking what the reward is for winning in the exhibition matches. See the words ''exhibition'', yet he seems genuinely annoyed when told there's no prize.
* JerkassGods: He is a rotten fruit, being an utter asshole to Basil when he's not doing well in his fight and constantly mocking U7. He's totally fine with Lavender wanting to try to kill Gohan in their match.
* LargeHam: All over the place during the Zeno Expo and the Tournament of Power, whether he's announcing the names of his fighters' techniques or berating other Universes or their fighters. [[spoiler:Or even reaching his hand out to Zeno's direction right before being erased from existence, while calling for him.]]
* SmallNameBigEgo: He is the God of Creation of Universe 9, so he is an important person. At the same time, he likes to brag and belittle those around him, saying how U9 is the best universe with the strongest fighters. He gets a rude wake up call when the Grand Minister reveals that U9 has the lowest mortal rating of all the 12 universes.
* SmugSnake: According to the [[AllThereInTheManual character profiles]], he tends to make fun of the other universes. [[EstablishingCharacterMoment The first action he does when we first see him is to arrogantly smile along the Trio of Danger]]. Buu wipes said smile off his face fairly quickly. [[spoiler:It becomes very apparent how smug he is when it's revealed in episode 80 that Universe 9 is considered the ''worst handled'' of the current twelve universes.]]
* TheSocialDarwinist: In his words, "Universe 9 is not a place for losers". [[spoiler:Considering that Universe 9 has the lowest mortal level and is the first universe to be eliminated, Roh was very, VERY wrong.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: In contrast to [[TokenGoodTeammate Sidra]], he's a Supreme Kai who happens to be a gigantic, underhanded, spiteful {{Jerkass}}. Kibito and Beerus both note that his behavior is very unbecoming for a Supreme Kai. That said, he isn't really 'evil', just extremely petty. As [[spoiler: Goku Black]] notes, [[EveryoneHasStandards not even he]] would've approved of his Zero Mortals Plan, which is why [[spoiler: he needed to kill him in the future timeline]].
* UnderestimatingBadassery: He seems to be really cocky when it comes to other universes, especially when seeing Majin Buu and thinking of him as some simple chew toy. He's taken down a peg when his universe is assessed to be the weakest, averaging a level about half that of Universe 7 (which is second-last). His arrogance proves to be his downfall in the actual tournament, as his poor strategy to have all of his universe's fighters bumrush Goku and Vegeta, two of the strongest competitors, results in Universe 9's embarrassingly early erasure. It's worse when you consider that he had already witnessed Goku's incredible power firsthand in the Zeno Expo.
* UndignifiedDeath: His last act before his erasure is to break down and scream to Zeno for mercy. Compared to all the other universes who faced their erasure with dignity, Roh's death comes off as pathetic and hardly has dignity for it.

!!Trio of Danger

[[folder:General]]
!!Trio of Danger(トリオ・デ・デンジャーズ, ''Torio de denjāzu'')
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trio_de_dangers.png]]

-->'''Roh:''' These three warriors are the meanest and most powerful in the entire 9th Universe! And that's why we've named them... ''the TRIO OF DANGER!''

Universe 9's strongest warriors, a group of wolfman brothers.
----
* AdaptationalWimp: In the anime, Basil and Lavender can trade blows with Super Saiyan Vegeta/Goku individually and as a team pressure one into transforming beyond basic Super Saiyan, while Bergamo eventually powers up to that point that he can fight ''Super Saiyan Blue Goku'' for a little bit. A drugged Basil can also make Buu exert a little bit of effort despite being a lot weaker, something Majin Vegeta couldn't manage. In the manga, all three are weaker than Piccolo (who is little more than a fly compared to the Super Saiyans at this point, much less Blue), with Bergamo losing to him in an off-screen CurbStompBattle.
* BadassCrew: The Trio of Danger is composed of the best of the best of what their universe can offer. [[spoiler:This really doesn't amount to much. They do a decent job while Vegeta and Goku are in their base forms, but once the two Saiyans activate their Super Saiyan forms, it's quickly over.]]
* BadassFamily: The Trio of Danger, who are all brothers, are strong enough to give a decent fight against the Universe 7 fighters in the exhibition matches. Bergamo admits that the reason they became the strongest of Universe 9 was because they worked together to defeat opponents none could defeat alone.
* BeamOWar: They pit their Triangle Danger Beam against Goku and Vegeta's Final Kamehameha in the Tournament of Power. As one might expect, they fail miserably, [[spoiler:and it's the final blow that costs their universe the tournament and its existence]].
* BigBrotherWorship: While the Trio in general have affection for each other, Lavender and Basil clearly look up to Bergamo, the oldest (and literally biggest in both height and muscle mass) of the three. They're moved to tears when he gives a speech turning all the universes against Goku, and when Bergamo finally loses his match against Goku, they both jump down to the stage to help him up. He also serves as the group's leader, reinforcing how much they look up to him.
* TheCameo: The Trio appear as illusions cast by Universe 4 fighter Shantza in episode 119.
--> '''Fake Bergamo:''' Prepare yourselves! We've returned from beyond this realm to have our revenge on you!
* ChromaticArrangement: The Trio of Danger is composed of the siblings Bergamo (blue), Lavenda (yellow) and Basil (red).
* CombatPragmatist: By Bergamo's own admission, they weren't always the strongest warriors of their universe. However, by fighting as a team, they were able to overwhelm opponents none of them could beat alone.
* CombinationAttack: The Danger Triangle, where they surround their opponent in a triangle formation and rapidly switch places. Since their ki can't be sensed, keeping track of all of them is pretty difficult, even for someone like Goku. They can even utilize the energy from this attack into the trope below.
* CombinedEnergyAttack: The Triangle Danger Beam, which has all three brothers fire ki blasts at once. It's notably the only time Basil uses his hands.
* DefiantToTheEnd: [[spoiler:They're the last members of Universe 9 to remain in the ring, and despite having their backs quite literally at the edge they give everything they've got to take down Goku and Vegeta with their final CombinedEnergyAttack. It sadly doesn't change the outcome, but points for trying. In the manga, this is averted. They [[KnowWhenToFoldEm attempt to retreat after getting overwhelmed]] by Frost's spree, but they get knocked out by Universe 7 anyways.]]
* DemotedToExtra: Does not appear in the manga version of the Zeno Expo match where instead the match was an all out battle between the Gods Of Destruction before it's replaced by Goku vs. Top.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Bergamo is the responsible sibling in numerous cases versus his two younger brothers. He addresses Universe 9's Gods respectfully, while Basil and Lavender are rude to them. Bergamo is good at keeping his cool in combat, while Basil and Lavender both become psychotic (to different degrees) when they fight. During the Zeno Expo, while Basil and Lavender sought self-gratification (whether demonstrating their own strength or killing their opponent, respectively) in their matches, Bergamo made a noble appeal to Zeno to revoke the universe erasure rule if he managed to defeat Goku [[spoiler:(he didn't, of course)]] in his match.
* ICantSenseTheirPresence: The Trio de Dangers' ki cannot be sensed, even when they are exerting their powers. Gohan figures out how to get around this by bouncing his own ki off Lavenda's body like sonar or radar.
* KilledOffScreen: [[spoiler:Technically, as in the scene where all of Universe 9's fighters are erased and disappear, the Trio of Danger are hidden from view. They had fallen onto the floor of the observation stage and so were hidden from view by the railing. We know they were erased too because we saw the flashing white light surround them that surrounded everyone else who disappeared a few seconds later.]]
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: In the manga, [[spoiler:after seeing the rest of Team Universe 9 getting screwed by Frost, they attempt to retreat. Gohan and Piccolo however end up facing them, and Frieza manages to finish the wolves off]].
* MoralMyopia: The Trio of Danger show great care for each other and (particularly Bergamo) fault Goku for his role in putting entire universes at risk, but turn a blind eye to Lavender's homicidal tendencies and powers; Bergamo goes so far as to encourage Lavender to kill his opponent. Basil isn't as overtly homicidal as Lavender, but becomes noticeably unhinged while in battle, indicating he might not exactly be averse to killing either. The double standard is possibly justified given killed people still exist in the afterlife, while Erased people cease to exist completely.
* NonhumansLackAttributes: All three brothers are shirtless, but no nipples are visible. While possibly justified in being covered in fur, the trope comes out in full force with Basil, who doesn't wear anything covering his lower body and still has nothing visible down there.
* LastStand: The last of Universe 9's warriors who face up against Goku and Vegeta. They put up a really good fight, even using the Danger Beam as a last effort attack to take out Goku and Vegeta, but Goku and Vegeta counter this relatively easily, knocking them out and [[spoiler:leading to their universe to being erased]]. In the manga, [[spoiler:they are the LastStand as well, but their showdown is more anticlimactic]].
* SiblingTeam: As previously mentioned, they are a group of warrior brothers.
* SlainInTheirSleep: [[spoiler:After being defeated by Goku and Vegeta, they land in the bleachers, but are blissfully unconscious when Zeno erases them - and their whole Universe - from existence moments later.]]
* ThemeNaming: The Trio de Dangers are named after spices you put on tea.

A Universe 9 warrior from an anthropomorphic wolf race, and the youngest member of the Trio of Danger participating in Zeno's Tournament of Power preliminary round. He is the first opponent overall, facing off against Majin Buu.
----
* AdaptationExpansion: He gets a ''lot'' more focus in the anime than the manga, even compared to other minor tournament characters. In particular, his below-mentioned Day In The Limelight and his extended episode-long fight with Buu.
* ADayInTheLimelight: The first episode of the Tournament of Power is this for Basil. He works with Hit to cripple a spinning Narirama that threatens to dominate the stage by knocking everyone out of bounds. He dodges every blast Lilibeu throws at him only to knock her out of the stage, scoring the first ringout of the whole Tournament. He comes close to scoring a second knockout as well (this time around, Napapa is strong enough to throw Basil's energy attacks out of bounds and avoid being knocked out himself). Basil's fist is even seen trading blows with another (very powerful) fighter's in the opening combat montage. At the end of the episode, he and his brothers are seen surrounding Goku, the main character of the whole series. [[spoiler: Understandably, it seems the whole purpose of Basil's huge amount of screentime was to make his - and his entire universe's - erasure from existence in the next episode all the more shocking.]] In the manga, [[spoiler:this role is given to Frost from Universe 6 instead, who has an increasingly high knockout count compared to the anime, and lasts as long as the Universe 9 threat]].
* AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal: A notable one among the Trio of Danger, since he doesn't wear anything outside a cloak, gloves and boots. You can now compare him with a [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog Sonic character]] when it comes to the clothing department.
* BadassArmfold: Since he mostly uses his [[ExtremityExtremist feet]] in combat, Basil spends most of the first part of the fight against Buu with his arms folded in front of his chest, completing the smug look he has going for him. He stops around the time he realizes that his attacks really aren't doing much more than inconveniencing Buu.
* BloodKnight: Outside of battle, Basil seems like a fairly cool dude, even almost innocent at times based on his expressions (especially in comparison to his brothers'). Once in battle, though, he dishes out kicks and energy balls like there's no tomorrow, generally with plenty of cackling and gloating. Blood Knight tendencies come out full swing when the Tournament of Power starts, as he eagerly picks a fight with just about anyone he can find, even scoring the first ring out of the Tournament; this is a stark contrast to more powerful fighters like Jiren and Hit, who sit back and largely provide support for their teams and (in the case of Hit) don't fight anyone who isn't fairly weak to begin with.
* CallingYourAttacks:
** ''Shining Blaster!'', A set of spheres of energy released from his feet.
** ''Wolfgang pressure!'', a similar technique, a barrage of energy bullets released from his feet. Only used on his PowerUpFood state.
* CurbstompCushion: While Buu is overall superior, both in terms of power and his ability to regenerate from normally fatal injuries, Basil still manages to put up a good fight and even gets Buu on the defensive once he eats his PowerUpFood. His problem is that he lacks the stamina to keep it up, and failed to realize that Buu wasn't really taking the fight serious for a good while.
* DangerousForbiddenTechnique: Basil's PowerUpFood makes him much stronger, but when it wears off his muscles seize and he faints, similar to Goku's use of the Kaioken/Super Saiyan Blue combo.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Appears briefly in the ''Limit Break x Survivor'' opening along the Universe 6 fighters before his appearance on the show.
* EnemyMine: Worked together with Hit to disable Narirama's arms at the start of the Tournament of Power. Basil disabled the right arm while Hit disabled the left.
* ExtremityExtremist: According to the character profiles, he is a fast and agile warrior who specializes in footwork. When we finally see him, he starts off by kicking Buu repeatedly. He is so good at this he can reflect and launch Ki attacks with just his feet. [[spoiler: However, he is by no means limited to just his legs. Besides using his hands to participate in the Triangle Danger Beam with his brothers, he uses his legs and arms ''simultaneously'' against Napapa in the Tournament, and this is more than enough to let Basil almost eliminate the latter if not for Napapa using his size and sumo tactics to stop himself just as he reaches the edge.]]
* HourOfPower: Basil's PowerUpFood gives him a considerable power boost, but wears off after a few minutes and leaves him completely drained, causing him to fall unconscious (though Buu's attack may have aided in that).
* OhCrap: His reaction when Buu not only tanks one of his strongest attacks but doesn't even ''notice'' the gaping hole blown in his stomach and then regenerates it.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: A red anthropomorphic wolf with a cloak, and one of his universe strongest fighters.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: While he is little more than a fly compared to his opponent at the exhibition match, he ''is'' the second strongest mortal in all of Universe 9.[[note]]The Trio of Danger in general are stated to be the three strongest guys in their universe. Basil is said to be weaker than Bergamo, but how he compares to Lavender is left ambiguous in the anime. The manga confirms that he's stronger than Lavender in a convenient sequence where the whole U9 team is hit by one of Frost's blasts. Lavender is on the ground, while Basil and Bergamo are still standing.[[/note]] He quickly proves this in the ([[AdaptationExpansion anime version of]]) the actual tournament, starting with drawing first blood and knocking Lilibeu off the stage.
* PowerUpFood: Roh tosses him some kind of fruit which causes him to bulk up considerably. It puts him on about even footing with Majin Buu when before Buu was capable of utterly manhandling him, but he suffers in stamina and collapses after a few minutes of sustained fighting.
* SmugSuper: Acts very confident and smug throughout his fight with Buu. To be fair, he's legitimately powerful, something Buu acknowledges (we later see him trading blows with Super Saiyan Vegeta on somewhat even terms), but Buu is stronger still.
* ThemeNaming: Basil is Japanese for a type of herb. The Trio of Danger is named after spices you put on tea.

----
* AxCrazy: He's ''very'' excited to find out anything goes, proclaiming how he's going to kill his opponent, in this case being Gohan, with constant maniacal laughter.
* BarefootCartoonAnimal: Contrary to his brothers, Lavender is barefoot, fighting on digitigrade paws rather than wear any footwear.
* BeamOWar: Briefly gets into one with Gohan during their fight. He wins due to his poison weakening Gohan during the struggle.
* CombatPragmatist: He's willing to poison and blind Gohan to gain the advantage, since it's not against the rules in the exhibition match.
* EnemyMine: Leads an attack on Gohan's group along one of his comrades, two Universe 4 fighters and Botamo from Universe 6 during the Tournament of Power.
--> '''Lavender:''' We meet again, Saiyan... Only this time, it isn't gonna end in a draw!
* ExplainingYourPowerToTheEnemy: Not by him, but by Roh who tells everyone how Lavenda's poison works and how Gohan will slowly rot if he doesn't surrender.
* TheHyena: He laughs to himself when Bergamo confirms he can kill his opponent, and cackles like an absolute maniac during his and Gohan's PummelDuel.
* ItOnlyWorksOnce: By the Tournament of Power, Goku and Gohan have devised a countermeasure to his poison, cloaking themselves in a ki barrier to block it. Vegeta is able to copy this when his turn comes to fight Lavender.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: A yellow anthropomorphic wolf wearing short pants with suspenders, and one of his universe strongest fighters.
* PoisonousPerson: He can breathe a deadly poison which slowly rots the body from the point of contact.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Both his ki and his poison are purple, and he's considered both one of Universe 9's best and capable of going toe-to-toe with Super Saiyan Gohan, albeit blinded and weakened by poison.
* ThemeNaming: A pun on ラベンダー/rabendā, a culinary herb.

A Universe 9 warrior from an anthropomorphic wolf race, and a member of the Trio of Danger participating in Zeno's Tournament of Power preliminary round. He is Son Goku's opponent.
----
* AintTooProudToBeg: In the manga [[spoiler:after he is defeated by Piccolo and realizes he is the last member of Univere 9 still in the tournament, he begs Piccolo not to throw him off, stating it would erase his universe and that maybe they can find a way so nobody gets erased. Piccolo hesitates upon hearing this, but Frieza comes in and eliminates Bergamo anyway, thus dooming Universe 9]].
* BadassBoast: After losing the Zeno Expo to Goku he swears that Universe 7 will be the first universe erased during the tournament and he'll make sure that no matter what Universe 9 survives and isn't erased. [[spoiler:Unfortunately he failed to live up to his words. Not only is Universe 9 erased, they are the first universe to be eliminated from the tournament, they lost very early on, and every fighter was eliminated by a fighter from Universe 7.]]
* BeamOWar: The climax of his fight with Goku involves him in his [[{{Kaiju}} giant form]] facing off against Super Saiyan Blue/Kaioken Goku's Kamehameha. He almost powers through, but is ultimately overwhelmed and defeated.
* BlatantLies: In an attempt to alienate Goku from the observing gods, he claims that without Goku's intervention they would have continued to live in peace, even though they were just told by the Grand Minister that Zeno was already going to [[spoiler:destroy the seven weakest universes before Goku reminded him of the tournament]].
* CallingYourAttacks: ''Wolfgang Penetrator!''
* CurbStompCushion: While Goku far outclasses him in raw power, Bergamo is still able to put up a decent fight and even pushes Goku on the defensive once his [[MakeMyMonsterGrow size-shifting abilities]] come into play, landing several hits that clearly hurt Goku even in his Super Saiyan form. He's only completely outmatched once Goku brings out Super Saiyan Blue/Kaioken combo, and even then his final ki attack almost powers through the Kamehameha Goku fires at him.
* EnergyAbsorption: He's able to absorb the energy of any attack that hits him and convert it into size and power, i.e. a practical application of 'negative feedback'. He can grow to giant proportions through this method, but there's a limit to how much he can absorb.
* ExplainingYourPowerToTheEnemy: In his fight against Goku, he takes the time to explain how his ability works and how he grows stronger the more he's hit. Although, Roh is the one who gives most of the details and it didn't really matter since Goku was able to figure out how Bergamo's power worked without being told and even lampshade how unoriginal it was.
* ForgotAboutHisPowers: He doesn't use his EnergyAbsorption during the proper tournament, as seen when Goku scores several direct hits with no consequence. This might be a matter of practicality, given his CombinationAttack with his brothers and how Goku had already demonstrated its weaknesses in their last fight, but ultimately Goku only makes a passing remark about the ability before the fight and no one comments on it after.
* HandwrapsOfAwesome: Wears them on his arms.
* JerkassHasAPoint: After being defeated by Goku, he calls the latter out for not caring about the state of the multiverse and the fact that the other gods will hate him because of this. While he himself isn't a saint, he brings up a very good point about Goku, especially considering Goku's nonchalant reaction to the other universes being erased.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While certainly mean and temperamental sometimes, he truly cares about the well-being of his universe, as after he mouths off to everyone about how Goku screwed up, he pleads with Zeno to spare the universes should he win. He also seems to hold his brothers in high regard, as they help him up after he's defeated.
* {{Kaiju}}: As he gets bigger, he definitely begins to resemble one given the fact he's an anthropomorphic wolf.
* TheLeader: He is this to the Trio of Danger, though it probably helps that he's the eldest brother.
* LogicalWeakness: In his giant form, it's easier for his smaller opponents to hide in his blind spots. [[SquareCubeLaw He also seems to be slower from swinging all that bulk around.]]
* ManipulativeBastard: A very smooth talker for a wolf-man, able to quickly make Goku out to be the bad guy concerning the Tournament of Power and manages to get Zeno's attention.
* MetaphoricallyTrue: He claims that if Goku hadn't reminded Zeno of the tournament, they would have continued to live their lives in peace. While only said to alienate Goku from the observing gods, he's ''technically'' right, in that if Goku hadn't reminded Zeno of the Tournament they would have been none the wiser when they inevitably got erased. In addition, given the multiverse still existed in the future, it's entirely possible Zeno's eventual erasure of the universes would be far, far, far in the future, rather than around the time of the Tournament of Power.
* OnlySaneMan: Seems to be this for Trio of Danger, compared to Lavender's AxCrazy nature and Basil's SmugSuper attitude. He is the only one who seems to fully realize they may have underestimated Universe 7, though it probably helps that he had a front-row seat to watching both Basil and Lavenda be defeated by the very opponents they laughed off as weak.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: A blue anthropomorphic wolf with handwraps and a red scarf, and one of his universe strongest fighters.
* PhlebotinumOverload: Goku beats him by using the Super Saiyan Blue/Kaioken combo to hit him with a massive amount of power all at once, dropping him back to normal size from the giant size he had grown to.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Gives Goku one after he's defeated, calling him out for treating the tournament like a game despite ''knowing'' what's at stake and falsely accusing him of condemning trillions of innocent lives to oblivion. Goku's response was to [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu tell all the gods to come at him with their best fighters and he will beat them]].
--> '''Bergamo:''' Everyone here thinks of you as a villain now. You just can't wait to see whole universes destroyed, can you? Well, since that's the case, I'll do everything to make sure your vile universe is the first to go! Every fighter here will be coming for you! You're getting obliterated, 7th Universe! The 9th isn't going anywhere! We'll win this thing, you'll see!
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Wears a red scarf, and is one of the best fighters of his universe.
* SizeShifter: He's able to grow larger by absorbing energy.
* SmugSuper: Before fighting Goku, he proudly declares that he's stronger than the Saiyan. While very likely the strongest of his ''siblings'' and capable of giving Goku a surprisingly hard time, by the end of the fight it's clear that claim was very false.
* SoLastSeason: He's the WorldsStrongestMan of his universe, but in the manga is no match for Piccolo, let alone any of the main cast's heavy hitters, making him weaker than Cell. In the anime, he's a lot stronger, even briefly matching Kaio-Ken Super Saiyan Blue Goku with help from his energy absorption, but his default power is still not enough that he can overwhelm Super Saiyan Goku without help from his brothers (his reaction to Basi's fight with Buu also heavily implies his level is below Buu's too), making him still very weak relative to the protagonists. This serves to illustrate how ridiculously powerful the protagonists are, that even the strongest being in an entire universe is fodder compared to their second- and third-stringers.
* ThemeNaming: Named after a pun on bergamot (in Japanese ベルガモット, ''berugamotto''), a type of orange used to flavor tea and whatnot.
* VillainousValor: "Villain" might be stretching it (he's more an [[SmugSuper arrogant]] {{Jerkass}} than anything), but despite facing down Goku's Super Saiyan Blue/Kaioken combo (the very same combo that even ''Beerus'' himself was shown to be a little fearful of), Bergamo refuses to surrender and fires off one final giant ki blast to counter Goku's Kamehameha after briefly ''blocking'' it, nearly powering through before Goku overwhelms his final attack and him.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Doesn't wear a shirt, similar to another werewolf character in another of [[Creator/ToeiAnimation Toei]] [[Anime/DigimonAdventure works.]]
* WhatTheHellHero: To Goku, calling him out for dooming the universes to crave his [[BloodKnight Saiyan bloodlust]]. See the quote above.
* WorldsStrongestMan: He is the most powerful of the Trio of Danger, said to be U9's strongest warriors. How strong he is relative to the rest of the cast depends on the medium. In the manga he's a lot weaker than Piccolo. In the anime, his EnergyAbsorption allows him to grow stronger the more his opponent hits him, and brings him to ridiculous heights. He's even tough enough once he's powered up to briefly match against Goku's Super Saiyan Blue/Kaioken combo. Keyword here being "briefly".
* WorthyOpponent: Upon seeing Gohan fight Lavender on equal footing (despite being blinded and poisoned), notes that Gohan is "an opponent truly worth fighting".
* YourSizeMayVary: While he's obviously a SizeShifter, once he starts growing, his size sometimes shifts noticeably between shots despite his power not being activated.

A catlike female warrior for Universe 9.
----
* AxCrazy: She seems to be very enthusiastic about cutting Vegeta's face off. It's quite telling both she and Lavender start to laugh like crazy together while attacking Vegeta.
--> '''Hop:''' Go on! Say it! Say "''please, lop my pretty face!''"
* ActionGirl: A female warrior for universe 9.
* TheCameo: An illusion of her is summoned by Universe 4 fighter Shantza during episode 119.

* CatGirl: A female humanoid with feline attributes.
* CombatSadomasochist: Takes delight in the thought of slicing Vegeta's "pretty face".
* CombatStilettos: Wears heels in her fight, and while initially overpowering Vegeta, she's pretty fast with them.
* FragileSpeedster: She dodges several ki blasts that base form Vegeta throws at her easily. A single punch from base form Vegeta sends her flying at high speed.
* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: Has a tiny waist with a decent bust and wide hips.
* ThemeNaming: Her name is derived from the plant Humulus lupulus, also known as the Hop.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Lavenda, due to both being AxCrazy. She's even [[spoiler:mortified when she accidentally slashes him.]]
* WolverineClaws: Her left hand has much longer claws which she uses for slashing attacks. Her claws can even extend themselves to extreme levels, as shown in the manga where she saves Roselle from a knockout.

An amphibian-looking fighter from Universe 9.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: In the anime, Comfrey didn't have any fight scenes. In the manga, he is a competent fighter that gives Frost a decent fight before being defeated.
* TheBrute: In the manga, he takes Chappil's role as the durable fighter of the team.
* EnemyMine: Joins Lavender, two Universe 4 fighters and Botamo from Universe 6 in order to corner Gohan's group during the Tournament of Power.
* FlatCharacter: While its true many fighters on the Tournament of Power are cannon fodder, many of them receive some personality trait or a backstory on supplementary material. Comfrey, however, doesn't get any of it.
* ThemeNaming: His name is a pun on comfrey (also comphrey), which is a common name for plants in the genus Symphytum.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Doesn't wear a shirt.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler: He is defeated along with the rest of his universe during the first minutes of the match, making the Omni-Kings erase him. He didn't get to do much onscreen in the Tournament before this.]] Not even the Toei website cared to explain more about him, just saying how he got defeated. In the manga, he fights Obni, a competent fighter in the anime adaptation. Additionally, he's somewhat durable against Frost, forcing Frost to actually put some effort into knocking him out of the arena.

A metallic looking lizard warrior from Universe 9.
----
* AdaptationalWimp: His skin is unbreakable in the anime, only Goku in his Super Saiyan transformation was capable of hurting him. In the manga, it appears he doesn't have any SuperToughness, as he is easily beaten by Frost.
* BreathWeapon: He's able to shoot a fireball from his mouth.
* EdibleThemeNaming: Named after chervil, also known as French parsley.
* ImplacableMan: His toughness allows him to be this for physical attacks. Against ki attacks, however...
* InSeriesNickname: "Iron Skin Battler".

* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Despite being a lizard man, he's quite akin to a dragon.

A demonic looking bat fighter from universe 9.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: The manga equivalent of the Universe 9 showdown actually shows him being formidable, giving Piccolo trouble.
* {{Flight}}: His wings allow him natural flight in the otherwise flight-prohibited tournament. [[spoiler:Frieza shoots a hole through his wing to ground him, and then decides to make him "[[ColdBloodedTorture his plaything]]".]]
* OhCrap: When it hits him that, when jumping off the stage on purpose to escape from Frieza, he's just eliminated himself, he panics.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: His third eye. Then again, he's not so threatening when [[spoiler:Frieza gets to him]]. He's more of a threat in the manga though.
* ScrewThisImOutOfHere: Faced with the possibility of [[spoiler:Frieza torturing him for fun]], he jumps off the stage on purpose to escape, realizing too late what he's just done.
* ThemeNaming: Named after the plant Roselle, a species of Hibiscus probably native to West Africa.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Keeping with what appears to be tradition among Universe 9 fighters, he doesn't wear any clothes outside of his pants.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: [[spoiler:Frieza tortures him for a good while, which so terrifies him that he rings himself out to escape it. He doesn't even get to show off his abilities, as Frieza shot him down before he could even attack. Then he was erased with his universe.]] In the manga, this is averted, as he legitimately gives Piccolo some trouble.
* WingedHumanoid: A humanoid bat with a third eye on his forehead, he uses his wings to fly in the Tournament of Power.

An assassin hired by Sidra and Roh to kill Frieza and Goku.
----
* NoNameGiven: His name is never revealed.
* OneHitKill: He had the ability granted by Sidra to kill anyone with a single energy attack, to kill Frieza faster. [[spoiler: It didn't work.]]
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: They insist they cannot say who or what sent them but as they start to drop left and right, accidentally state that Sidra and Roh had sent them which prompts Frieza to demand an audience with Sidra and Roh to [[spoiler: try joining Universe 9 and ditch Universe 7]].
* SuicidalOverconfidence: He is shown to be incredibly nervous about being given Lord Sidra's Energy of Destruction to attack Frieza but then shown to be incredibly smug thinking he can take on Frieza. While he does show some competence in trying to use the Energy of Destruction, it backfires when Frieza manages to escape from it and kills him for it.
* TooDumbToLive: Thinks he can take on Frieza despite all his allies being killed with energy beams, albeit his confidence was boosted by possessing some of Sidra's [[OneHitKill Energy of Destruction]]. Same applies for his allies thinking they can take on Frieza despite each other being killed in one hit, and they ''don't'' have that excuse. Instead of going back to Universe 9, they keep trying to fight Frieza and Goku.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Doesn't wear a shirt.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: He serves the narrative purpose of showing how much stronger Frieza became in Hell.
