[[caption-width-right:1000:Brad Wong as he appears in ''Dead or Alive 6'']]
->''Want a drink?''

->'''Origin:''' China
->'''Fighting style:''' Zui Quan (drunken kung-fu)
->'''Voiced by:''' [[note]]Yukimasa Kishino (JP, ''3-4''), Creator/UnshoIshizuka (JP, ''Dimensions'' - ''6''), Creator/GrantGeorge (EN) Played by: Creator/SongLin (Film/DOADeadOrAlive)[[/note]]

----

->A master of the Zui Quan style. He has been on the quest for the legendary drink known as "Genra" for years. He often hangs around with Eliot and teaches him about the world.

------
* AesopAmnesia: Judging from the way his third game-ending depicted him abandoning the bottle, his sudden return to full-on alcoholism in the fourth game is rather disheartening.
* TheAlcoholic
* BadassBack: Much of his style involves this.
* ButtMonkey: While he also made Eliot into this in ''5'', he also shares a lot of ButtMonkey moments -- being missed out in his drink order by Mila, tripping on [[LethalJokeCharacter Zack]] and was beaten by him of all people...
* ConfusionFu: His move set is pretty unpredictable.
* ContrivedCoincidence: His master sent him on a hunt for the legendary wine "Genra" three years prior to his entrance into the series. After his hunt leads him to the third game's FinalBoss, he gives up the hunt as a lost cause. The question of [[AmbiguousSituation whether or not his master knew the character Genra]] has gone unexamined.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Yes, he's a drunken boxer. Yes, he seems to be drunk (or at least acting like it) a fair amount of the time. But he's also fought Hayate well enough to get the ninja's respect.
* DirtyOldMan: He isn't too old at 32, but his actions towards the teenage females (i.e. Ayane and Kokoro) of the cast squarely put him into this trope. The ''[=DOA5=]'' artbook calls him a "sketchy old drunk who's a bad influence on the youth".
* DrunkenBoxing: His fighting style.
* DrunkenMaster: A zui quan master and an alcoholic.
* FullNameBasis
* HiddenDepths: Despite his alcoholism and lecherous behavior, he also possesses fairly keen insight into other people (at least regarding Gen Fu) and plays the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erhu Erhu]] with some skill.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: Seems to have this with Eliot.
* MrFanservice: Thanks to [[https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/deadoralive/images/a/ac/C_080_25.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160215015319 Valentine's Day DLC]].
* SatelliteCharacter: His master, who sent him on the journey for the legendary wine "Genra", and who has yet to be seen since the third game.
* ShipperOnDeck: During the China leg of Ayane's story in ''[=DOA5=]'', she happens upon Brad clumsily trying to play wingman for Eliot by literally pushing him into a romantic encounter... with ''her''. When Eliot proves awkward and unwilling, Brad quite literally takes matters into his own hands to show him how it's done. This does accidentally get Eliot to talk to Ayane when the young man has to save Brad from getting his head taken off by her slap.
* StatusQuoIsGod: His ending in ''3'' features him throwing away his calabash (where he keeps his alcohol), suggesting he's struggling with it, but he's still the same drunkard in ''4'' and on.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Eliot in ''5'''s story.
* WarriorPoet: Again, he plays the Erhu.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: He's only 32 as of ''5'', but his white hair and washed-out complexion makes him look at least ten years older.

[[folder:Christie]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/christie_4.png]]
[[caption-width-right:1000:Christie as she appears in ''Dead or Alive 6'']]

->'''Origin:''' England
->'''Fighting style:''' She Quan
->'''Voiced by:''' [[note]]Creator/KotonoMitsuishi (JP), Creator/AprilStewart (EN, ''Xtreme 2-Dimensions''), Creator/LauraBailey (EN, ''5''), Unknown (EN, ''6'') Played by: Music/HollyValance (Film/DOADeadOrAlive)[[/note]]

----

->A professional assassin and She Quan martial artist, Christie is a cold-blooded woman with a sadistic streak. Victor Donovan hired Christie to kill Helena Douglas, and she was responsible for the death of Helena’s mother, Maria. Ever since that incident, she continues to stalk Helena throughout the series.

------
* AdaptationalHeroism: In the movie, she's a lot nicer and has nothing to do with Donovan's scheming.
* AnimalMotifs: Snakes, based on her fighting style, the "Snake Fist". She also has the sneakiness and sinister nature associated with snakes.
* AnimalThemedFightingStyle: She uses Snake Kung Fu.
* AxCrazy: Has a knack for psychologically scarring and ruining lives of innocent people and feels nothing from it but pleasure.
-->'''Christie:''' I am Death. I shred your soul to ribbons.
* BattleButler: To Helena in 3. It's revealed that she's actually an assassin sent by Donovan to kill her.
* BecauseImGoodAtIt: She loves her job, but doesn't care much for her employers, Donovan included. In fact, by ''[=DOA4=]'' she even offers to give Donovan up to him.
%%* CombatStilettos
* CoDragons: As of ''5'', Christie shares this role with Donovan's son, Rig.
* CoolShades: The pair of glasses she can wear in ''[=DOA5=]''.
%%* DarkActionGirl
* DissonantLaughter: When Helena finds out Christie's made a hit on someone close to her, that poor soul feels justifiably shocked and upset, but Christie finds it eerily ''hilarious.''
* TheDragon: She carries out tasks and hits for Donovan. In ''Dimensions'' it is shown that she is very involved in decision making, and seems to be his closest ally.
* DrinkBasedCharacterization: Tomato juice, fitting her AxCrazy nature.
* EvilBrit: Of all the FemmeFatale Brits in gaming ([[Franchise/StreetFighter Cammy]], [[VideoGame/SoulSeries Ivy]], [[Franchise/TombRaider Lara]] etc), Christie is easily the most [[ObviouslyEvil malevolent]].
* EvilGloating: One of her victory quotes in ''5'' is to laugh and say "That was ''awful''."
* EvilLaugh: While she's usually no-nonsense, she cracks up after gloating to Helena about killing her mother.
* FalseFriend: Assigned by Donovan to be Helena's BattleButler so she can 'keep an eye on her'. Helena seemed to be handling her mother's death better when it happened than she was leading up to the time when Christie revealed that she was the one who actually killed her.
* FemmeFatale: As evidenced in her ''DOA4'' ending.
* GorgeousGaijin: She's tall, seductive, and sports a haughty RP English accent. Also, besides Kasumi's clone, she is the first unhacked character who has appeared nude (twice, as a matter of fact: First was in the ending to her scenario in ''Dead or Alive 3'' where she is seen showering, and the second was in the opening of ''Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball'' where she dives off a cliff at night to skinnydip.)
* HotterAndSexier: When her Stripperific outfit from ''4'' returns with SideBoob in ''6.''
* InNameOnly: TheMovie portrays her as a ClassyCatBurglar.
* LadyOfWar: A cold and calculating English assassin who fights with snake-style kung fu and uses quick, precise strikes.
* LightIsNotGood: Her assassin outfits are mostly white and she has white hair.
* MagicSkirt: Inverted. Her ''DOA 4'' standard costume has only an undone jacket for a top, and yet it remains perfectly in place the whole time.
* MiniDressOfPower: One of her costumes in ''5''.
* MoralityPet: Eliot loosely seems to be this to her, as she openly likes him (as an elder who finds someone younger cute but not in a romantic sense). This doesn't mean she is specifically nice to him and openly teases him such as the milk cutscene in 5.
* MrsRobinson: She acts ''very'' seductively towards Eliot (the youngest of the male characters) whenever they meet, most notably when she teases him with her "milk" in DOA5. Keep in mind that in DOA4, Eliot was ''16.''
* NavelDeepNeckline: Her default costume in ''[=DOA4=]'' involves a short [[HellBentForLeather leather jacket]] that's open to the navel--revealing she's not wearing ''[[VaporWear anything]]'' underneath it, yet the jacket somehow covers her breasts. Her trademark costume is a white and green leather catsuit. At least it's not neon pink.
* NoSocialSkills: DependingOnTheWriter. Due to being an assassin hardened by her job, she has a hard time in regular conversation. For instance, when Lisa cheerfully introduces herself in ''Xtreme'', Christie's response is, "..." On the other hand, she socializes, teases, and flirts quite well whenever she feels like it.
* TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou: In ''[=DOA4=]'', Christie develops a fascination with murdering Helena and refuses to allow anyone else the privilege. Later games don't make as much to-do about it.
* PantheraAwesome: She keeps a ''panther'' at home.
* PsychoForHire: Downplayed. While technically mercenary, by and large she's a consistent employee of Victor Donovan's.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: With Tina and Lisa, one of the most sexually unreserved characters in the franchise.
* ShoutOut:
** Very similar to a certain other {{Fanservice}}y, platinum-haired, {{stripperiffic}}, [[http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa92/BrazilGameMaster/Soul%20Calibur/IvyArtSC4.jpg English lady....]]
** Her formal outfit makes her look very similar to King from ''VideoGame/ArtOfFighting''/''VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters'', particularly when she wears it in purple.
* SideBoob: Her Stripperific costume features this in ''6'', albeit covered in mesh.
* SpyCatsuit: A white and dark grey one from ''[=DOA3=]'' on, plus a new white, black and red in ''[=DOA5=]''. Both displaying a NavelDeepNeckline.
* StatuesqueStunner: She's the tallest woman in the game at 5'10".
* {{Stripperiffic}}: Christie has some of the most revealing outfits, both playable and cutscene-only. In fact, she takes on the job as a stripper in order to take out a target in ''DOA4''. [[https://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/deadoralive/images/d/d3/DOA5_Christie_Special3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130428154933 The costume is indeed Stripperiffic in every sense of the word]]. When the getup returns in ''6'', it features SideBoob covered in mesh!
* YouKilledMyMother: In ''Dead Or Alive 4'', it was revealed that Christie was the one who killed Helena's mother during an Opera showing. The kicker? Helena's mom wasn't even the target, [[WouldHurtAChild Helena herself]] was; her mom caught sight at the last minute and shielded her from the bullet.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Her hair is very light, and she's a ruthless assassin.

[[folder:Hitomi]]
[[quoteright:1000:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hitomi_9.png]]
[[caption-width-right:1000:Hitomi as she appears in ''Dead or Alive 6'']]
->''Good luck!''

->'''Origin:''' Germany
->'''Fighting style:''' Karate
->'''Voiced by:''' [[note]]Creator/YuiHorie (JP), Creator/HyndenWalch (EN, ''Xtreme 2''), Creator/EdenRiegel (EN, ''Dimensions''-current) Played by: Music/HungLin (Film/DOADeadOrAlive)[[/note]]

----

->A high school student with a black belt in karate, Hitomi debuted in ''Dead or Alive 3'', replacing Ein as the regular karate martial artist in the character roster. Half-German and half-Japanese, Hitomi has been practicing the art of karate under her father's tutelage since she was a child. She finds the amnesiac Hayate in the German Black Forest and takes him home to help him. There, both practice karate together, which create a dear friendship between the two. She enters the 3rd Dead or Alive Tournament to prove her skills to her father, but later he becomes severely ill, so she enters again to win the prize and save her family's dojo.

->Hitomi enters the 5th tournament, trying to 'meet' with Ein once again, but eventually accepts that he's always Hayate. At the very least, she becomes the runner up of the tournament, the last opponent defeated by Jann Lee.

------
* ActionGirl: She was introduced as the daughter of a Karate instructor in her debut appearance and has since gone on to become a treasure hunter by [=DOA6=].
* AnimalMotifs: Several of her outfits and GoofyPrintUnderwear have teddy bears on them.
* BadassAdorable: Once called ''The Fist of Innocence,'' she's a cheerful and spirited girl who deals nasty blows when she's deadly serious.
* BettyAndVeronica: The Betty to Lei Fang's Veronica, albiet with [[DownplayedTrope no concrete Archie between them]]. Hitomi's more common, workaday upbringing and kinder, more humble sensibilities play off of Lei Fang's chic fashions, impressive pedigree and more haughty personality.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Hitomi's an absolute sweetheart and stays upbeat and kind even at the worst of times. Even so, never be cruel to animals in her presence, or she'll ''really'' make you regret it.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and Lei Fang are a pair of [[GenkiGirl fun-loving teens]] and fellow martial artists. By [=DOA6=], they've even become [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-TWZy_lRow travelling companions]] in search of lost treasure.
* BreakoutCharacter: To the point that she was revealed to be playable in ''[=DOA5=]'' before Kasumi. Also worthy of note is she was [[EarlyBirdCameo back-ported]] to the UpdatedRerelease of ''Dead or Alive 2'' in ''Dead or Alive: Ultimate'' for no other reason than people liked her (none of the other ''[=DOA3=]'' newcomers joined her).
* ButNotTooForeign: She's part-Japanese and part-German, hailing from the latter country.
* CatFight: In ''[=DOA4=]'' she fights against Lei Fang... over a freaking cabbage!
* CharacterDevelopment: When she first debuted in ''[=DOA3=]'', Hitomi had a serious, dramatic personality to her with a no-nonsense approach to things. However, come ''Xtreme'', shes loosened up and [[TookALevelInKindness becomes a lot warmer and more friendly]]. From ''[=DOA4=]'' onwards, she's [[GenkiGirl carefree and energetic]], much like her new bestie Leifang.
* ChestInsignia: A fair few of Hitomi's casual outfits share the same emblem of a soaring bird.
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: Jann Lee saves Hitomi in ''4'' from being eaten by a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Her response? Indignant disgust that he beat up a "cute" dinosaur, regardless of the consequences of if he hadn't. It starts a fight.
* CoyGirlishFlirtPose: Does this with Eliot twice, to psych him out and hinting that she has some attraction to him. This also serves to show that Hitomi’s character model is a good amount taller than Eliot’s, since she has to bend down for their heads to be level, [[NotDrawnToScale despite Hitomi being statistically shorter at 160 cm]] while Eliot is 168 cm.
* CuteBruiser: Has a notably more aggressive fighting style than the other girls, except Tina and (later) Mila and Rachel. She can be considered a faster -- albeit slightly weaker -- successor to Ein.
* DistaffCounterpart: From [[Characters/DeadOrAlive2 Ein]].
* DoYouWantToHaggle: In ''4'', she happens across a shop with a cabbage she'd love to buy but can't afford; Lei Fang happens along, cuts Hitomi off, and buys the cabbage for the full price while the latter is still haggling with the owner. Hitomi does ''not'' appreciate it.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: When Hitomi first appeared in ''[=DOA3=]'', she originally had a much more serious and pragmatic demeanour, almost entirely the opposite of her much more chipper, friendly and carefree self that was established not long after.
* FanServiceWithASmile: With her German waitress costume.
* {{Foil}}: To Lei Fang.
* FriendlyRivalry: With Lei Fang. The two ''never'' miss an opportunity to test each other skills; even during a ''treasure hunt'' in ''[=DOA6=]'' events!
* GenderFlip: In the live action movie, Hitomi is listed as being defeated in one of the tournament rounds. Since the other three defeated fighters (Jann Lee, Brad Wong, and Eliot) were all identified, the only one left who could be Hitomi is a guy in a yellow jumpsuit. But then things get odd when a female fighter cameos that actually ''does'' have her usual appearance.
* GenkiGirl: She's sweet, upbeat, and optimistic.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Lei Fang as of ''5''. Though, given their interactions in the Xtreme side-series, the "hetero" part is debatable.
* HiddenDepths: Hitomi actually ''chooses'' to go to Zack Island for the third time in ''Xtreme 3'', in order to take a much-needed vacation before the next tournament as well as clear up her lingering crush on Hayate. A stark contrast to the previous two times where she was tricked into coming.
%%* HotBlooded
* IconicSequelCharacter: Since her debut Hitomi has become a centerpiece of the series, even though she's only been around since ''[=DOA3=]''. Her storyline involvement is typically minimal (at best she has a loose connection to Hayate) but still gets a lot of promotion and attention from the developers.
* InnocentBlueEyes: She's got big, expressive blue eyes that show [[NiceGirl her kind-hearted nature]].
* JapanesePoliteness: Very much so, which is ironic since she isn't fully Japanese.
* JustFriends: ''Dimensions'' implies Hitomi had a crush on Hayate, but seeing he doesn't reciprocate, she gives up on him and decide to stay friends. That being said, her intro in ''Xtreme 3'' [[ShipTease hints she might still have some feelings for him]].
* {{Kiai}}: For her stronger attacks.
* LightningBruiser: She was created to be basically a faster, albeit weaker version of Ein. However, her strength and defense are still more than decent.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: She has a slim build and is rather short. Still, being a ''karateka'' -- and based on Ein's style, at that -- means her blows still have a big component of brute force. And yes, she still can send an opponent to the far side of the ring with one big hit.
* NiceGirl: She's a sweet-natured and kind-hearted girl who's warm and friendly to everyone, even the likes of hardened {{tsundere}}s like Ayane, and ''ruthless assassins'' like Christie.
* NotEvenBotheringWithTheAccent: She doesn't sound even slightly German.
* OddFriendship: With Jann Lee, the result of their encounter in ''[=DOA3=]'' was completely unexpected; Jann Lee, who was being disrespectful to his closest peers (Ryu and Lei Fang) till the third tournament, bonded with Hitomi quite well, their mutual understanding of martial arts was the bridge for this friendship.
* PlatonicLifePartners: With Zack, surprisingly enough. Both of them are official tag partners in both ''3'' and ''5''.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: Her school uniform costume in ''Dimensions''.
* TheRival: To Lei Fang, though on a friendly level.
* SailorFuku: One of her costumes. An interesting case considering that, even though her mother is Japanese, she was born and raised in Germany, and her looks are more Western than Asian.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: During the beginning of her ending movie for the fourth game, she opens the curtains to her room and dances around for a bit... while nude from a shower.
* ShipTease:
** With Hayate/Ein. ''[=DOA5=]'' and its myriad upgrades and DLC have fun with it, providing them with several matching costumes, including the Halloween 2016 DLC, which gives Hitomi and Ein each a costume from the Dead Bride & Dead Husband fan costume design.
** With Eliot, particularly in [=DOA5=] when she greets him by playfully growling at him before their sparring match.
** The ''DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball'' series adds plenty between her and Lei Fang. Such as one intro showing them [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-9MEbDCJCM sharing an ice cream cone]], that's deliberately framed to make it look like they're about to kiss. They also have high affinity with each other right from the start.
* SpiritedCompetitor: Her defining character trait is her passion for Karate, which is why her "white dogi & headband" ensemble is usually her default costume.
* StarvingStudent: She has to work as a waitress to get by. It gets worse during the 4th tournament, when she must help her family during her father's illness.
* SupremeChef: Her ending in ''[=DOA4=]'' depicts her putting on quite the show in making herself salad and an omelet, until a ring at the doorbell [[TheKlutz makes her trip over herself]].
* TankTopTomboy: Besides her karate dogi and headband, Hitomi's other most iconic outfit is a tight, [[BareMidriffsAreFeminine midriff-baring]] white top and jeans, nicely showing off her athletic figure and tomboyish nature.
* TomboyishPonytail: As an alternate hairstyle.
* TooDumbToLive: In ''Dead or Alive 4'', she admonishes Jann Lee for being cruel to a T-Rex that would have eaten her alive had no one intervened. She also was the only one of the girls who fell for the exact same trick twice in ''Dead or Alive Xtreme 2'', though she gets better about it in ''Xtreme 3''.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachertorte Sachertorte]], a rich multi-layered chocolate and apricot jam cake from Austria. ''[=DOA4=]'' indicates she also has a thing for cabbage and omelets.
* ViolenceIsDisturbing: Downplayed. Her main bone of contention with Jann Lee is that [[EveryoneHasStandards he tends to be too brutal with his opponents]], despite being a spirited ''karateka'' herself.
* WolverinePublicity: The marketing material of ''[=DOA3=]'' focused mostly on her, especially in Japan.

[[folder:Genra / Omega]]
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/genra_omega_5186.png]]
[[caption-width-right:250:Genra/Omega as he appears in ''Dead or Alive Dimensions'']]
->''I, Genra, have a request: that young Ayane be moved to the Hajinmon village immediately. Further, I ask that she be reassigned to join me in my duties - providing support to the Mugen-Tenshin Clan from the shadows.''

->'''Origin:''' Japan
->'''Fighting style:''' Mugen Tenshin-style ninjutsu
->'''Voiced by:''' [[note]]Osamu Saka (JP), Andrew Kishino (EN, Dimensions)[[/note]]

----

->The former master of the Hajin Mon Sect of the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan and Ayane's foster father, who first appeared in Dead or Alive 3 as the super-human weapon Omega. After Ayane was given away by her mother Ayame at birth, Genra took the girl in and became her father and master, teaching her Hajin Mon Style Ninjutsu. Before the third Dead or Alive Tournament, he gave himself to the Dead or Alive Tournament Executive Committee and let himself be experimented on, turning him into a heartless weapon of destruction.

------
* CallingYourAttacks: This actually works to your advantage if you know how to fight him. The secret to winning the BossBattle is to ''listen'' when he calls out his three types of ranged attacks so that you can prepare to counter them. You block the shockwave, crouch under the fire blast, and sidestep the lightning.
* EvilAllAlong: ''Dimensions'' reveals him to be a manipulative and power-hungry man, willing to do anything to get revenge for playing second-fiddle to the main branch of the clan, and that his loyalty and honor are just a facade to hide it. [=DOATEC=] didn't kidnap him for their experiments; he went right to them and ''let'' them do it.
* FinalBoss: In ''[=DOA3=]''.
* ParentalSubstitute: To Ayane.
* PromotedToPlayable: ''DOA Dimensions'' is his first and so far, only playable appearance.
* {{Retcon}}: In the original ''[=DOA3=]'', Genra was kidnapped by DOATEC and turned into the superhuman Omega against his will. Ayane was determined to be the one to end the man who raised her, ultimately defeating him and winning the tournament, with his death leading to the attack on DOATEC. In ''Dimensions'', Genra reveals himself to be a [[EvilAllAlong traitor that summoned Bankotsubo into the human world, manipulated Ayane and allowed himself to be transformed into Omega to take revenge on the main branch of the clan]]. It also took the combined efforts of Ayane, Hayate, and [[BigDamnHeroes Hayabusa]] to take him down.
* SpinToDeflectStuff: He can knock his opponents over by spinning his [[DoubleWeapon double-bladed]] [[LaserBlade energy sword]].
[[/folder]]
