[[folder:In General]]
* AlwaysChaoticEvil:
** Many races hate them for being flying greedy butchers, but the Changelings in particular see them as their racial archnemesis because of [[ItsPersonal what they did to their homeland at the dawn of their people and nearly pushing them into extinction]]. The Changeling Summer Court in particular sees nothing wrong with simply [[LackOfEmpathy killing them all]] in revenge, which they nearly succeeded in the [[FinalSolution Time of Broken Scales]]. However, this is ultimately subverted, as dragons are no more inherently evil than any species and a great many of them are benevolent and good. This unfortunately means such benevolent dragons frequently get subjected to FantasticRacism.
** Also subverted with dragons who identify as Children of Tiamat. While initially many of them seem to be malevolent, it's eventually shown many of them focus on directing their instincts towards constructive ends rather than destruction.
* ArchEnemy: On a racial level, Changelingkind. Yes, they may have rivalries between each other and with, say, the Giantkinds of Equus, but nobody [[ItsPersonal made it as personal]] as the Changelings did, during the [[FinalSolution Time of Broken Scales]] when they tried to kill off all dragons and ''nearly did the job''. However, this is a case of [[CreateYourOwnVillain creating their own worst archenemy]] as it was [[ItsPersonal Dragons burning down their homeland]] and [[ThisIsUnforgivable nearly pushing them to extinction at the dawn of their people]] -- traumatizing them and making them bear an aeons-long grudge -- that led the Summer Court Changelings to try and wipe them all out in revenge. Only time will tell how Ember and Thorax's friendship with each other and the Xestobium, Apterus and Toxikon Crises would help to end this ViciousCycle of vindictive conflict.
* ArmorIsUseless: Subverted and Deconstructed HARD. Dragonkind's arrogance in their scales' durability and physical superiority had led many of them to disregard armor, believing that donning them is 'Undragonlike'. Advancements in technology/magic among non-Dragons and [[DeathWorld even some of the more dangerous creatures and natural hazards on Equus by themselves]] demonstrates the folly of such a belief, and those who fly around naked and putting all their confidence in their scales often ends up getting killed by increasing number of things which could blast through said scaled armor.
** A band of Dragons from a rival Dragonflight derided and disrespected Dragon Lord Ember over her use of armour, implying she is a 'wuss' for it. Ember chastise their stupidity and told them to fly through a canyon inhabited by a pack of territorial rock-flinging 'Sharp-Eye Slingtails' naked [[SchmuckBait if they feel so confident about it]]. Taking this as a challenge, [[TooDumbToLive they promptly did so]], and were never seen [[KilledOffScreen nor heard from again]].
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: Deconstructed. Many Dragons prefer brute strength and power over intelligence and skill, and look down on [[FantasticSlurs 'Tinies']] for this reason. Any Dragon who doesn't follow social norms are [[NoTrueScotsman seen and derided as 'fake']]. It's implied this mentality was largely nurtured by Queen Tiamat, their mother goddess, who is the strongest Ryujin goddess and Dragonkind's instincts incarnate (ironically, Tiamat is not opposed to her children choosing to be good). However, it's this mindset that caused a huge majority of Dragons to become greedy, arrogant, and cruel, pillaging and destroying 'Tiny' civilizations because they can. This not only earned the hatred of their victims (which consists of ''almost every single non-Dragon race'' on the planet), but also made them prime targets for attempted genocide by others, as prominently shown in the 'Time of Broken Scales' event. As the 'Time of Trials' continues, Dragons like Ember are starting to realize that strength and power alone won't cut it, and become more progressive and tolerant as a result, while wicked/traditionalist Dragons often end up humiliated and/or killed by the world they once terrorized.
* BreathWeapon: As per standard for being dragons. However, the number of possible varieties depends on the individual. It is [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/869177535/4904426185 revealed]] that this aspect was just the ''basics'' of harnessing their elemental powers, as Pyro II can fully manipulate his flames to his liking. Most dragons simply ''chose'' not to.
* BrilliantButLazy:
** As shown with 'Free Dragon' settlements like Cobbletown, Dragontown, and Angel Vale, Dragons ''are'' capable of forming civilizations and creating technology/magic of their own... it's just that many of them prefer to sit on their treasure hoards and let their raw strength and power do the talking. It's deconstructed as Dragonkind's untamed greed and AppealToForce mindset makes them [[EvilReactionary reactionary]] to all forms of progress, leaving themselves vulnerable to both advanced non-Dragon races and even progressive Dragons. Many characters in-universe both lament and condemn Dragonkind for wasting their own potential, and as various Codex entries show, those Dragons who stubbornly cling to the old ways often pay with their lives.
** It's noted by many that the creations of Cobbletown and Angel Vale show just how brilliant dragons can ''actually'' be if they apply themselves. Cobbletown's firecrafters are incredibly helpful and successful, while Angel Vale's Draconic Generators are incredibly efficient and effective, and both are something only dragons could've made. It's pointed out that dragons could've ''always'' made these things, but most are too complacent to do so.
* CantCatchUp: Dragons naturally become more powerful as they age...but that's about the only method most dragons use to grow in strength. This becomes a problem for traditionalist dragons as tinies gain new technologies and weapons and progressive dragons do both that and actively seek out the means to get stronger, as the passive power increase with age simply can't compete.
* DelightfulDragon: Notably, dragons worshipping Bahamut or Arcaniss tend to be this, as both advocate for nobility and wisdom among their subjects.
* DumbassNoMore: Dragons have a reputation for being dumb brutes, and prior to the Time of Broken Scales, that was mostly true. However, as time went on many dragons began to realize that their raw power simply wasn't good enough and began to learn and catch up with other races in terms of intelligence. This took many off guard and is noted as having made those dragons who took that route both much more [[DelightfulDragon reasonable and easy to get along with]] (as even the evil ones learned [[PragmaticVillainy pragmatism]]), but is just [[GeniusBruiser a massive upgrade in general.]]
* ExoticExtendedMarriage: It's noted that polyamory is considered perfectly acceptable by dragons, though some, such as Dragon Lord Pyro II prefer to have one mate and mate for life.
* {{Foil}}: To the Changelings. As quoted from WordOfGod:
-->"I think this has to do with the fact that when I looked at them, I found that they are complete antitheses of one another; the Changelings are weak individually, hideous to look at and are dependent on harvesting love from others, and even in canon seems in possession of a culture which emphasizes on guile, secrecy, and sacrificing for the greater good. The Dragons by contrast are strong, aggressive and greedy to a fault, and even in-universe had a culture that emphasizes on might make right, brawn over brains, prideful individualism and wealth who never had to fight for their survival. I found that when put together, both of them are not exactly very compatible and even mutually exclusive."
* FantasticRacism:
** Malevolent dragons tend to look down on other species as inferior.
** Benevolent dragons unfortunately can be subjected to this, as due to the actions of malevolent ones some see ''all'' dragons as AlwaysChaoticEvil, even though those dragons hate their malevolent counterparts as much as everyone else.
* GoodIsImpotent: {{Inverted}}: It's gradually become apparent the malevolent dragons who hold fast to their superiority and right to pillage and ravage other species are losing ground, while the [[DelightfulDragon benevolent ones]] who have befriended other species and work along side them are gaining it. Thus it's the ''good'' dragons who are generally superior, as their willingness to learn and work with others gives them a critical edge over their malevolent, largely stagnant counterparts. While there ''are'' exceptions, even those exceptions tend to be more pragmatic and less evil than their brutish, country ravaging counterparts.
* {{Greed}}: A prominent trait of Dragonkind. They are mostly a materially-obsessed race, and will do anything to increase the size of their hoards. This led to the 'Burning of Amorea', where a group of dragons burned and pillaged the Changelings' homeland to seize its riches for themselves. This caused the Changelings to develop a deep hatred for Dragonkind. It's noted, however, this isn't necessarily a purely ''bad'' thing, as heroic dragons still possess it, they just channel it into drive and turn it into a form of ''love'' rather than just the sin.
* IKnowYourTrueName: A [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/898458204/4956072511 drabble]] reveals the names we know dragons by are not their only names, as they have a True Name in Draconic and a second one for nondragons to call them. Knowing their True Name doesn't give one power over them, but only fellow dragons and extremely trusted and close friends and allies among nondragons are permitted to call them by it. Otherwise it's a cultural BerserkButton.
* ImmortalProcreationClause: Due to their lifespans reaching in the millennia, they have a very low reproductive rate. For example, the Avalar Dragonflight, where Pyro II, Cinder I and Eimuria originate from, only has its mating season once every ''twelve'' years. Deconstructed in that the setting's high probability of conflict means that a few prolonged conflicts can wipe out entire generations, as shown with Valefor's attack on the temple and the Dark Dragon War leaving some groups critically endangered.
* MagicalSpeciesTransformation: Deconstructed. Arcaniss sadly [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/846937883/4968202614 noted]] that due to the stigma among Dragons against using brains over brawns and against arcanic sorcery over brute strength, many scholarly and sorcerous Dragons would elect to permanently change to other species when the chance presents itself to learn and practice magic among other races and civilizations with well-developed magical schools and lores which would appreciate them and their contributions rather than stick around a bunch of intellectually deprived and magically crude collection of meatheads who would bully and ostrasized them for it, leading to a brain/talent-drain which further reinforced the stagnation of Dragonkind.
* MedievalStasis:
** The 'Desolation Cycle' theory holds Dragonkind responsible as one of the biggest causes of this trope in Equus, as every time certain civilizations reach a level of advancement and sophistication -- and with it, wealth and prosperity -- the Dragons become attracted to them out of greed, eventually gathering in such numbers they would ravage them and everyone else in rapine and slaughter and force everyone to start from scratch. It is heavily implied to be at least partially true; the Second Age Atomic/Information Era technological civilizations reached those heights and beyond in a time when Dragons and other magical/fantastical races and powers retreated into isolation from Equus proper. When Dragonkind's numbers are decimated by the Summer Court Changelings during the '[[FinalSolution Time of Broken Scales]]' 5,000 years before present-day Equestria, the world managed to advance to an industrial era. Needless to say, a ''lot'' of non-Draconic races and [[DefectorFromDecadence even some of their own kind]] felt there is enough evidence for this to be true and [[YouMonster resented Dragonkind for it]].
** Dragonkind's [[AntiIntellectualism preference for Brawn over Brains]] and [[WeHaveBecomeComplacent general complacence]] in their power have led them to remain stuck in one themselves. It's worse, in fact, since all things considered they're effectively at a ''Stone Age''-level of advancement, Bronze Age at best. Needless to say, many people, even some of their own kind like Dr Toxikon, despises this fact, and the fact that [[YouMonster they keep screwing every other races over]] by [[{{Greed}} plundering them]] [[ItsAllAboutMe for their hoards]] and make sure [[ViciousCycle they also stay stuck in stasis forever]]. Unless they change, the Summer Court Changelings' [[FinalSolution idea for them]] might just be the best thing to happen for everybody else.
** This actually blows up in the faces of many of the more malevolent dragons, as it's shown that dragons who avert this trope tend to completely outclass the ones that stick to it. Even the malevolent dragons who avert this tend to be much more dangerous as a result.
* MonstrousCannibalism: Dragons eating each other is rather commonplace, [[JustifiedTrope particularly as they get bigger and the usual diet of cities and kingdoms are no longer enough to sustain their mountain-sized bodies]]. Tiamat herself once ate a ''dozen dragonflights'' in a single sitting and Urania uses this method to deal with hostile members of her Dragonflight and family along with failed underlings.
* NoTrueScotsman: Deconstructed and played for drama. Wicked and/or traditionalist Dragons look down on other Dragons who choose to associate with 'Tinies' and embrace progress, though part of it is motivated by envy towards their ability to amass greater treasure hoards. Sadly, things often get heated to the point where the progressive Dragons find themselves and the 'Tinies' they befriended attacked by wicked/traditionalist Dragonflights who want to murder them all and pillage their wealth for themselves. Fortunately, the advancements and alliances made ensures the progressive Dragons are both protected and capable enough to fight back against their detractors, as well as their would-be killers.
* PoorPredictableRock: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/899781878/4960122231 Discussed]] by Changeling King Lasius Lyonesse, who points out Dragonkind has been on both ends of this:
** On one hoof, dragons reliance on their sheer power means they don't bother to try and adapt to their tactics and thus are extremely predictable. This is why tried and true dragonslaying tactics can ''exist'' in the first place, as most species will come up with a countermeasure or response to such tactics being discovered and used against them, and thus [[ItOnlyWorksOnce they tend not to work more than a couple of times.]]
** On the other hoof, Lasius notes a 'new breed of dragon' has begun to grow in prominence that has learned from the past, and thus ''is'' willing to grow, learn, advance, and even work with other species in mutual friendships. As other species have grown complacent in their time tested dragonslaying tactics, such dragons can completely flip the script and exploit ''their'' predictability to either take advantage of the tactics failing or [[HoistByHisOwnPetard turn them against them entirely]]. As such, he notes the era of tried and true dragonslaying tactics being possible to ''exist'' is [[NothingIsTheSameAnymore coming to an end.]]
* ShockingDefeatLegacy:
** The 'Time of Broken Scales', when the Changeling Summer Court tried to wipe them out in revenge for the '[[ThisIsUnforgivable Burning of Amorea]]' and '''''[[DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu NEARLY DID THE JOB]]'''''. It led to a complete reorganization of Draconic society that had not changed for countless thousands of years, including a switch from a Clan-based system ruled by Patriarchs/Matriarchs to a more meritocratic 'Dragon Lords' system where any Dragon worthy enough could become rulers of their Dragonflights. Subverted in that character-wise, it still wasn't enough to change who they essentially are, which took until the Dragon/Changeling Crises and later conflicts to begin showing signs of change.
** However, there ''were'' dragons who began to see the writing on the wall and began to grow and change, with Ember and several Free Dragon civilizations being the most obvious. These groups proceeded to start ''dishing out'' shocking defeats to the traditionalist Dragonflights as conflicts begin between them, showing that gradually, dragonkind's dependence on their natural power can't compete with those who actively try to better themselves.
* SoLastSeason:
** Dragons used to be one of the most dreaded, implacable beings on Equus...but in the modern day, technology and magic has progressed in 'tiny' races to the point their natural strength and raw power is beginning to not be able to stack up anymore. While many dragons, such as Dragon Lord Ember and the Free Dragon civilizations of Dragon Town, Cobbletown, and Angel Vale, realized this and have taken to making peace with smaller races, adapting or inventing their own technologies, wearing armor, and actively training to become stronger, traditionalist dragonflights who remain stuck in their ways are finding themselves being outpaced as their natural power growth with age can't keep up.
** Those dragons who ''are'' advancing and growing, however, flip the script and invoke this on traditional dragonslaying tactics, as they not only know of them, but are smart enough to figure out countermeasures or even [[HoistByHisOwnPetard make them backfire]].
* StrongAndSkilled: Some dragon groups, mostly Free Dragons but also some entire dragonflights, have dropped their egotistical reliance on their sheer strength, instead training to learn how to actually fight. It's noted these dragons tend to be ''far'' more dangerous than their unskilled counterparts. Such dragons also tend to actually bother training their bodies to get stronger, as opposed to being complacent with their natural strength, and thus are naturally much stronger than their unskilled counterparts.
* StrongerWithAge: By default, the older a dragon becomes, the stronger it gets, eventually becoming {{Kaiju}}. However, this isn't a hard and fast rule, as it's shown a younger dragon who has actually devoted time to ''actively'' getting stronger (be it by actually making use of technology, honing their skills, or actively training to become stronger) can match or outclass a much older dragon who relies entirely on getting stronger passively through growth.
* UnskilledButStrong: Most dragons are so proud of their sheer brute strength that they never bother to learn how to actually ''fight''. While this makes them dangerous to anything weaker than themselves or other dragons of comparable skill, [[CurbstompBattle things do not go well]] when facing someone equal or greater in power but far more skilled. This also includes training their bodies to actually get any stronger, as most dragons think their base level of strength is enough.
* VanHelsingHateCrimes: Sadly, due to the more malevolent dragons, there are cases of genuinely good, benevolent dragons have been persecuted or killed when they've done absolutely nothing wrong.
* WeHaveBecomeComplacent:
** A serious problem they have: they're so secure in their own strength and power that they have largely stagnated. Dr. Toxikon saw this coming and tried to do something about it, but only a few like Ember and Mina listened. Ember is trying to do something about it, but it's an uphill battle. This means dragons who avert this trope end up becoming far stronger than the ones who hold tight to their ego.
** This also applies on a physical level, as most dragons are so certain of their natural strength the idea of training to get any stronger never occurs to them. As dragons like Ember and Tere show, they can get a ''lot'' stronger if they actually put in the effort.
* YouMonster: A lot of non-Dragon races and people hate Dragonkind for all the times they had ravaged their lands and killed their people in rapine and slaughter. Some like the Summer Court Changelings eventually took their hatred to [[GuiltFreeExterminationWar truly]] [[FinalSolution genocidal levels]]. {{Deconstructed}} in that not ''all'' dragons are evil and thus this becomes FantasticRacism towards benevolent dragons who don't deserve it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dragon Lords]]
* BagOfSpilling: Subverted. Worthy Dragon Lords who either abdicated or retired still keep their powers and Regalia. It acts as an incentive for them to stay worthy.
* TheChosenMany: Among the Dragon Lords, there are those who were deemed worthy by Prince Arcaniss due to not repeating the same mistakes and vices that befell most other dragons. As such, they were given the full power of the Scepters and their personal Dragon Lord/Scepter Regalia. Known Dragon Lords that are worthy include present-day Spike, Ex-Dragon Lord Torch, his daughter Dragon Lord Ember of the Equestrian Dragonflight, Dragon Lord Pyro II and consort Cinder of the Skyland Dragonflight, to name a few.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: Worthy Dragon Lords have the power of gods despite being 100% mortal when wielding their Dragon Lord Regalia. The Regalias work with their own storage of Primordial Quintessence which can be recharged with the Scepters. Subverted if the Dragon in question is already SemiDivine or divine. Instead they now have two stocks of Primordial Quintessence, one in their own bodies and the other in their Regalia.
* EnergyAbsorption: Spike reinvents the Zero Point Breakthrough to have it be able to absorb enemy dragonfire and make it his own instead. In turn, this version became a whole new technique to learn as a result.
* AnIcePerson: Zero Point Breakthrough: First edition. Invented by Arcaniss, it traps a foe in permanent ice by turning their own dragon fire against them.
* LargeAndInCharge: Sometimes but not always, with the larger ones ranging Dragon Lord Ember's father Torch who is just somewhat bigger than average Dragons, to demigod Dragon Lords such as Dragon Lord Pyro II and his consort Lady Cinder whose true sizes rivals ''small mountains''. Of course, as Dragon Lord Ember shows, size and strength are not mandatory/necessary requirements for the job.
* PlayingWithFire: They are able to blast dragonfire and Primordial Quintessence out of their Regalia rather than just their mouth.
* SheIsTheKing: As the title is unisex, a "Dragon Lord" can be either male or female.
* SpiritAdvisor: They can call upon the assistance of the past Dragon Lords of their flight with the power of stored "time". As clarified the summoned lords aren't actually there, but a copy that is based of their experiences and life hence the term "time". This system is to prevent the dead from being disturbed in their afterlife and cause minimal disruption to the living who might be busy with something else while ensuring that they are available 24/7. Also, it's locked to the Scepter's previous wielders. For example, Ember cannot contact Cinder's father as they are of different flights. Merging of flights via marriage or some other method can expand the summon list.
* SummonToHand: Dragon Lord Regalias can be called at will. It can be either teleported instantly or called over vast distances in case of anti-teleportation wards.
* SupernaturalElite: They are Dragon Lords before being judged for worthiness through their Dragon Lord Scepter. Subverted if the Dragon Lord in question abdicated, retired or is just simply unworthy.
* YourSoulIsMine: Dragon Lords are granted the power to devour the souls of wicked dragons as the most severe punishment they're able to inflict. It's highly regulated, however, and any Dragon Lord found abusing it is instantly stripped of their title, and subject to potentially violating Primeval Law.

!!Equestrian Dragonflight

[[folder:General]]
* CurbstompBattle: Inflicted a brutal and bloody one upon the traditionalist and martial [REDACTED] Dragonflight in the '[[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/870667629/4905498906 Battle of Spire Cliffs]]' with the aid of one of the Avalar Dragonflights [[spoiler:and Dragon Lord Urania's Dragonflight]], even worse than the battle at Manehattan where they defeated Dragon Lord Menhit's Dragonflight from Griffonnia with the aid of Equestria's heroes and armed forces as well as King Thorax's purified Changelings. Thanks to embracing the use of powerful weapons from non-Dragon races (most notably '[[{{BFG}} Blastfire Firearms]]' used by the [[OurGiantsAreDifferent Mountain Dogs]]) and deploying cunning strategy, they killed the enemy Dragon Lord and massacred Dragonflight's warriors, routing them so utterly and thoroughly it was ''[[ShockingDefeatLegacy completely broken]]'' as a military power, leaving the [REDACTED] Dragonflight itself so weakened in the aftermath it effectively ''[[CessationOfExistence ceased to exist]]'' within a year as a SuccessionCrisis and attacks by other opportunistic Dragonflights and non-Dragon adversaries ultimately led to it being cut up and absorbed by its Draconic rivals.
* FirearmsAreRevolutionary: As a demonstration of their willingness to learn from and use technology like other races, when they found themselves outclassed by a militant rival Dragonflight's army of old-school warrior Dragons who declared war on them [[EvilReactionary for being a threat to 'True Dragons'' way of life]], the Equestrian Dragonflight evened the odds by procuring '[[{{BFG}} Blastfire Firearms]]' scaled to their size from the [[OurGiantsAreDifferent Mountain Dogs]] and [[TeachMeHowToFight drilled for months with them]]. In the subsequent [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/870667629/4905498906 battle]] at Spire Cliffs, they completely ''[[CurbstompBattle massacred]]'' the enemy flight with volley fire, killing their Dragon Lord and breaking its power so thoroughly it was cut up and absorbed by their rivals within a year.
--> '''Prince Pharynx:''' Impressive... most impressive. What the Hells happened here?
--> '''Dragon Lord Ember:''' ''[[BondOneLiner Volley fire]]''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dragon Lord Ember]]
The new Dragon Lord of the Equestrian Dragonflight, young Ember seemed destined to have an interesting reign before her as she struggles with living up to the strong and powerful leader expected of a Dragon Lord (like her father Torch before her), and also to lead with a progressive, forward-looking wisdom that she desired the rest of Dragonkind to emulate. While her 'unconventional' style makes her somewhat controversial among her kind, with her capable leadership in several recent crisis, she is gradually earning both respect and admiration from her kind on top of increasing worldwide fame - which may be just what she needs to truly kick-start her career.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: While she's already quite badass in canon, here she is involved in a war (The Storm King Crisis) and helped avert catastrophe in two story arcs, the "Revenge of Apertus" arc and the "Dr. Toxikon" arc, demonstrating potential to achieve far greater things that [[TheChosenOne some would like to see realized in full]]. She is also a proficient sword fighter and unlocks her Dragon Lord Regelia, making her even stronger. It's eventually revealed that due to training herself in both skill and strength, she's considerably stronger than a normal dragon her age would be.
* AmazonianBeauty: It's noted that despite her more lithe body type, she's actually extremely well muscled due to actually bothering to train her body, just with a more 'martial artist' body type.
* AntiMagic: Her Element of Free Will gives her both immunity to mind control magic and the ability to break it on others.
* ArmorIsUseless: '''Subverted'''. She wears armor in combat to withstand blows that would have normally killed an unarmoured dragon at her age and size.
** When a band of Dragons from a rival Dragonflight derided and disrespected Dragon Lord Ember over her use of armour, implying she is a 'wuss' for it. Ember [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/869178368/4917347573 chastise]] them for their stupidity and told them to fly through a canyon inhabited by a pack of territorial rock-flinging 'Sharp-Eye Slingtails' naked [[SchmuckBait if they feel so confident about it]]. Taking this as a challenge, [[TooDumbToLive they promptly did so]], [[ForegoneConclusion and were never seen]] [[KilledOffScreen nor heard from again]]. It is left ambiguous whether [[GuileHero if she was actually baiting them to fly to their self-induced demise]], or if she was just raising an example as to why not wearing armor against threats such as those incredibly accurate Slingtails is a ''very'' bad idea and they just mistook her words as a challenge.
--> '''Dragon Lord Ember:''' 'Armour is for wusses?' [[SchmuckBait You try and fly into that valley of rock-throwing Sharp-Eye Slingtails naked]] and tell that to my face!
* BrokenPedestal: Towards Dr. Toxikon, a dragon she used to revere, until she discovered his plans to commit genocide against every dragon and changeling that were unwilling to move past their racial hatred.
* TheChosenOne:
** Luminiferous seems to have singled her out for great things, empowering her twice now to do great deeds. Part of it might be because she's one of the few dragons to let go of their kind's racial feud with the Changelings to befriend Thorax.
** For her actions and ideals, she was deemed worthy of the full power of the Bloodstone Scepter and her personal Dragon Lord/Scepter Regalia, the ''Bolverk Gram'', or ''Crimson Flash'' in Equestrian Ponish, which allows Ember to take after her father Torch and wield her own ornate sword, albeit with a red tint.
** Discord also chooses her to be the Bearer of the Element of Free Will, one of his Elements of Chaos.
* CoolSword:
** Wields the ''Bolverk Gram'', or ''Crimson Flash'' in Equestrian Ponish, a {{BFS}} with a red tint as big as she is like her father Torch.
** She's given a Star Steel Shift Weapon called ''Fires of Friendship'' which starts as a single handed sword (that shoots lasers) before transforming into a pair of swords and finally into a buster sword. It's also electrified. It's not as strong as ''Bolverk Gram'', but let's it use her for situations that don't call for her strongest weapon.
* CurbstompBattle: [[spoiler:Once she pulls out ''Bolverk Gram'', her fight with Menhit is over. The realization that Ember could've done this at any time and hadn't needed a divine weapon to beat her [[BreakTheHaughty shatters Menhit's ego]]]]
* DavidVsGoliath: Fights Dragon Lord Menhit, a fully grown fire dragon, during the Griffonnian Dragon Incursion. Despite being minuscule in comparison, she ultimately wins due to superior armor, weapons, and intelligence.
* {{Determinator}}: Goes into the FinalBattle with Dr. Toxikon with multiple broken bones.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: Pyro II warned her she wasn't ready to control a Dark Form, but Ember couldn't wait and underwent the ritual anyway. She never considered Pyro II might be right (as he's speaking from experience), and ends up paying for it when she can't control Dark Ember.
* {{Forgiveness}}: She's one of the few dragons who has let go of the blood feud with the Changelings. After Dr. Toxikon's defeat, she forgives Blackrose and Blackthorn for the entire mess to their faces, including Blackthorn specifically for the [[FinalSolution Time of Broken Scales]]. It is revealed later on that doing so was what deemed her worthy of her Regalia, ''Bolverk Gram''.
* GeniusBruiser: Just like in canon. Unlike most of her people, who value strength over intelligence and skill, she uses intelligence so she could apply her strength wisely, on top of actually bothering to train up her body to be even stronger. This is why she became such a good Dragon Lord, and partially why she was successful against stronger and more cunning enemies.
* IAmNotLeftHanded: [[spoiler:Fights Menhit without using ''Bolverk Gram'', despite having had it since forgiving the Changelings, instead only using the Shift Weapon Twilight gave her despite the fact she'd have demolished Menhit with the divine weapon. As Ember points out, she had a point to prove to Dragonkind about needing to accept help to grow, and while she only unlocked ''Bolverk Gram'' due to making those friendships, most Dragons wouldn't understand that. When Menhit is a SoreLoser and tries to attack her after being spared, she instantly uses ''Bolverk Gram'' to grievously wound Menhit force her to concede.]]
* IKnowYourTrueName: She's revealed to have let Thorax know and call her by her True Name, something only extremely close friends and trusted allies among nondragons are permitted to do, which he reciprocated by allowing her to know ''his''. Her True Name is revealed to be Yolkiinjun (roughly translating to Fire Born Ruler).
* ImmuneToMindControl: The Element of Free Will Discord entrusts to her renders her immune to mind control and able to break it on others.
* InterspeciesFriendship: She managed to befriend Thorax, a Royal Changeling. It would later play in their favor as they worked together to fight Apertus, and later Dr. Toxikon.
* InterspeciesRomance: It's implied she and Thorax's have romantic feelings for one another, but CannotSpitItOut. This remains the case even several decades in the future.
* {{Irony}}: Her father forbade her from participating in [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS6E5GauntletOfFire the Gauntlet of Fire]] because he thought she was too small to compete. Luminiferous would use his powers on her and discover she actually has the potential to grow even larger than him in a couple centuries or so.
* KirkSummation: In a final attempt to stop her mentor from allowing his bomb to detonate, Ember questions if ''this'' is really what he wants to be remembered for? [[spoiler:[[HeelRealization It works.]]]]
--> ''[[YouCouldHaveUsedYourPowersForGood "...How many more lives could you have saved if you'd put this much effort into helping the world?]] To actually teaching other whelps like you did me? Heck, teaching GRUBS! The School of Friendship asked me to get you as a teacher! That little Changeling buddy of Smoulder read all your books and idealized you! I get it, Blackthorn is a flankhole! He is PROUD of being a flankhole! ...But if you let him turn you into this, if this is how you die...you let him win. Because the drake you are would have died... If you really want to win, be the better drake and don't let him make you a monster...[[ArmorPiercingQuestion Do you want that to be how you're remembered? As just a monster?"]]''
* LargeAndInCharge: When Luminiferous empowered Ember and Thorax to fight Apertus, Ember became a large dragon that dwarfed even her gigantic father, Torch. It showed what she could become with a couple hundred years or more down the line.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: Her father Torch was actually a worthy Dragon Lord and was responsible for her overall upbringing. While Torch is credited as the one who raised her right, she is already more open-minded before which made teaching her possible in the first place.
* LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe: Wields the other half of the ''Fires of Friendship'' weapon set which is a shield that is made of similar materials. She can only use it when the sword is one handed, as it's other modes, a pair of larger swords and a buster sword, require the usage of both hands.
* MorphWeapon: She's given a Shift Weapon called ''Fires of Friendship'' by Twilight as a solidarity gift, which can transform from a one handed sword to a pair of larger swords and then finally into a buster sword. [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/841979331/4844371055 It also comes with a shield that is of similar make that is also capable of firing Star Beams]]. [[KnightlySwordAndShield It is actually a sword and shield set]]. Because the MorphWeapon properties only apply to the sword, the shield is often overlooked.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/1013740642/5121901606 Ember challenged her friend Invierna to a battle for dominence]] after Invierna made it clear that, friend or not, she would never submit to Ember, leading to Dark Ember nearly killing Invierna in the fight. Ember managed to regain control, but conceeded out of guilt and is left frantically trying to apologize, being left with guilt after Invierna responds by banishing her from her kingdom.
* PersonaNonGrata: After she rashly challenged her friend Queen Invierna to a battle for dominence between Dragon Lords, her frustration and anger that Invierna was about to win results in [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Dark Ember]] nearly killing Invierna. Feeling betrayed by someone she thought was her friend, Invierna banishes Ember from Tierra Helada and tells her to never speak to her again.
* PintSizedPowerhouse: She's fairly small by dragon standards due to being very young comparably speaking, but she also trained considerably to the point of being completely ripped, just with compact muscle rather than bulky ones. As such, she's far stronger than a dragon her size is naturally, and combined with her power boost from being a Dragon Lord, she can compete with full grown dragons much older than herself and win.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Due to dragon aging, she's still a teenager several decades in the future.
* TheseHandsHaveKilled: Dragon Lord Ember was forced to kill an enemy Dragon Lord at the end of the '[[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/870667629/4905498906 Battle of Spire Cliffs]]' something which the description noted 'deeply affected her'. Given her status as a Dragon Lord and one with [[WideEyedIdealist ambitious dreams for reforming Dragonkind]], this is likely the first time she realize what burden her [[TheChainsOfCommanding office and authority entails]] and the [[NecessarilyEvil potential]] [[WasItReallyWorthIt costs]] [[IDidWhatIHadToDo and]] [[TheNeedsOfTheMany sacrifices]] she would have to put up with or incur in order to make her dreams to shape Dragonkind's future a reality.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Ember as Dragon Lord became much more involved in the grand scheme of things; she participated in the war against the Storm Empire, and helped avert catastrophe in the Apertus and Toxikon Crises alongside Thorax.
* TheSacredDarkness: She would receive training from Pyro I to master her own dark form.
* ShipTease: There have been several of these between her and Thorax, though it's confirmed that even several decades in the future they still haven't actually hooked up.
* ShockAndAwe: Courtesy of her Shift Weapon, ''Fires of Friendship''.
-->''"Electricity?!" Menhit asked in disbelief.''\
''"What? Why would I have a fire weapon when I already got one?!" Ember roared, breathing fire in her eyes.''
* SickAndWrong: Her reaction to seeing Behemoth eating a group of rogue dragons.
-->''“Okay, there’s just something wrong with Ponies eating Dragons instead of the other way around. Even if he is a Giant Alicorn…”''
* StrongAndSkilled: Like her father, Ember believes power alone is meaningless and is an incredibly skilled fighter. In addition, she actually bothers to train up her body and become physically stronger, something most dragons won't do. As a result, she's ''far'' more powerful than a normal dragon her age would be, even a Dragon Lord. Note, she was able to fight and defeat a ''full grown'' Dragon Lord in single combat [[spoiler:while holding back to prove a point.]]
* StrongerThanTheyLook: Justified: she looks rather lithe and lean in build, but that's because she's trained herself for a compact, martial artist-type build. She's actually completely ripped on closer inspection. As such she's ''much'' stronger than she looks like she would be, enough Tere had no doubt at all she'd have [[CurbstompBattle demolished an Earth Dragon slightly older than her]] even without her Dragon Lord power up.
* WasItReallyWorthIt: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/909949548/5122084283 After her rashly challenging her friend Queen Invierna, the Indomitable Storm]] to a challenge for dominance nearly gets Invierna killed by [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Dark Ember]] (resulting in Invierna banishing Ember from her kingdom and wanting nothing to do with her), Tere sarcastically tells her he hopes the power she'd been so impatient to get despite Pyro II's warnings was worth it. Ember can't respond.
--> '''Tere''': So, that was the power you were so impatient to get?
--> '''Ember''': I...Tere.
--> '''Tere''': I hope it was worth it.
* YouAreNotReady: Pyro II had warned her that she wasn't ready to obtain the [[SuperPoweredEvilSide Dark Form]], due to how hard it is to control. Ember didn't listen and obtained it anyway. Unfortunately, Pyro II was correct and the end result, Dark Ember, would prove too much for Ember to control.
* YourSoulIsMine: As a Dragon Lord, she's granted the power to do this to wicked dragons. She showcases this to punish the Dragon Town Slasher [[spoiler:Tirsan]] for their crimes.

[[folder:Dark Ember]]
First introduced in a [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/930826834/5072021184 Drabble]], Dark Ember is the Dark Form of Dragon Lord Ember, her own shadow made manifest when Ember sought to have one awakened in herself to help her realise her dream and protect herself from enemies who could take control of her through her inner darkness. However in her haste and hubris, she underestimated her own ability to control Dark Ember, leading to her (at least initially) becoming her EnemyWithin.
----
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: As Pyro II himself [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/930826834/5072021057 warned]], to master the Dark Form requires one to have the strength, will and character to accept ones' own inner darkness, oneself at its worst, and embrace it, and cautioned Ember that failure to do so effectively would lead to complications. Dark Ember is what happened when Ember unfortunately overestimated herself. This is especially true when Dark Ember nearly kills her friend Invierna in a challenge.
* DespotismJustifiesTheMeans: She declares she will do what Ember cannot do to realise her dream of progressing Dragonkind, even if she had to take over as a tyrant and fulfill one of Ember's worst fears about what she could potentially become.
* EnemyWithin: Served as this to Ember when she initially failed to properly control her darkness, often threatening to take control of her and seeking to be her own drake and make her own conquests.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: Dark Ember was born from Ember's attempt to gain a Dark Form as a SuperMode, but she overestimated her ability to control it. The end result was Dark Ember being a SuperpoweredEvilSide.
* TheHeartless: She's Ember's dark side, everything about herself she's scared to face and her negative emotions made manifest. They're the same being, but
* SuperpoweredEvilSide: What Dark Ember is for Ember, not only being her dark side but also much stronger and more dangerous. Justified in that the Dark Form mode was meant to give the user a massive power boost on top of mental/spiritual protection from malign influences.

Ex-Dragon Lord of the Equestrian Dragonflight, Torch, the Radiant Emerald Saber (His entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Heroes-and-Villains-11-803914054 here]]) is one of the few dragons that became worthy as he understood the value of combining brains and brawn while offering to aid Celestia in the Equestrian Civil War with no strings attached. He also shares a friendly rivalry with the Pillar of Bravery, Flash Magnus.
----
* BatmanGambit: Capitalises on Ember's own stubbornness that drakinas can be big and strong when dissuading her to not compete in the Gauntlet of Fire, ensuring that she would compete.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: He is impressed by the Royal Legion's discipline and skill and wants to get some pointers for his flight but establishing a proper dialogue is impossible due the Royal Legion having a "flee on sight" protocol for adult dragons. Because of this, he resorted to kidnapping a nearby patrol which happened to have Flash Magnus in it, resulting in him and his wife Blaze being the dragons outwitted by Flash Magnus in his legend.
* CoolSword: ''Gallan-Sharl'' or ''Azure Prominence'' in Equestrian Ponish. Created by the Bloodstone Scepter and tempered to perfection in the heart of the Flamecano, the ''Gallan-Sharl'' is a [[{{BFS}} massive sword that is as tall Torch himself]] with it's hilt 3 times as wide as his own hand and the blade itself gradually descended in wideness until it's point like the shape of an actual torch. It's blade has a clean edge while the middle is decorated with a pillar of blue flame.
* CurbStompBattle:
** Due to his way of thinking, [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Tales-of-Equestria-Stories-5-857505355 his combat skill threw Cinder for a loop]] back when she was the "Terror of the Skies" who was effortlessly hunting down Dragon Lords. She threw all of her powers at him and was surprised that he wasn't even remotely fazed and is wielding a tool. Once Torch was made remotely serious, he defeated her in a single sword strike that levelled the mountain behind her. The only reason why she was still even alive is that she dived into her shadow out of raw instinct at the last moment, otherwise she would have been cut in half from head to toe.
** Dragon Lord Menhit tried to claim Equestria for herself. Torch demolished her so badly she didn't dare try again until after he had to abdicate his throne as Dragon Lord.
* DramaPreservingHandicap: His size. In recent times, crises have a tendency to pop up in crowded areas, meaning that he can't swing his sword as he liked without causing collateral damage. This also renders him unable to help when the Storm King attacked Equestria as all it takes is a single Obsidian Orb to put him out of commission with his size making it nearly impossible to evade.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfHeroesTrailsOfColdSteel Victor S. Arseid]], if the name of his sword didn't give it away.
* GeniusBruiser: While not to the extent as his daughter Ember, he still fights with brains and skill. The same applies to his sword-fighting.
* HeroesFrontierStep: While not as bad as most other dragons, he still never did anything notable that would make him stick out from most other dragons. Even his kidnapping of Flash Magnus' patrol was simply for pointers on how to make his flight more skilled and strong, not an attempt at dialogue and diplomacy. However, a few days after Nightmare Moon's banishment, a desperate Celestia was pleading to him for his aid to help reunite and restore order to an Equestria undergoing a CivilWar. His decision to help her with no strings attached deemed him worthy.
* MentorArchetype:
** Taught Ember everything she knew about being a "noble" and "worthy" dragon, making her the dragon she is today.
** Started a school to teach the way of the sword to dragons as a whole. It had practically no students until Ember's fame made the very idea of wielding weapons with skill credible.
* OneHandedZweihander: He is skilled enough to wield his {{BFS}} with one hand.
* PrecursorHero: Fought alongside Celestia and the Queen of the Hippogriffs in the Equestrian Civil War.
* RedBaron: The 'Radiant Emerald Saber'.
* WorldsStrongestMan: He's implied to be one of the most powerful mortal dragons alive. It's noted he was the only dragon who stood a chance against Cinder in her corrupted adult form on the ''continent'' until Pyro II reached his true potential. When Pyro III asked Cinder in present day whether she can crush Torch now as she is much stronger than before, she estimates that a rematch could still go either way.
* WorthyOpponent:
** Flash Magnus. Torch hopes to have a sequel to the legend when hearing about his return.
** Implied with Valefor. When Torch defeated Cinder, Valefor actually lightened her punishment when he found out that he was the one who beat her.

!!Avalar Dragonflight(s)

[[folder:In General]]
* HumanSubspecies: Well, dragon subspecies. Avalar Dragons differ from their relatives in several ways, most notably of which is being quadrupedal at birth and remaining such their entire life, instead of beginning bipedal and becoming quadrupeds when they grow older.
* MagicKnight: It's noted that Avalar Dragons are more skilled in their racial magics than their relatives. As such, Pyro II became [[MentorArchetype The Mentor]] to Ember in magic.

Dragon Lord Pyro II (his old entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Heroes-and-Villains-7-795137585 here]]; his new entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-57-871322352 here]]) is a demi-Ryujin god of Restoration, Elements, and Fate, and is the father of Pyro III and one of Ember's benevolent allies.
----
* TheAce: He and his mate are Avalar/Skyland's undisputed greatest heroes who succeeded in saving the entire world. It's noted that he and Cinder I are the only beings in Skyland who could stand up to Stormswirl (a warlock considered in the same league of power as [[EldritchAbomination Queen Dark Crystal]]) in a head on fight.
* AdaptationalBadass: While roughly on part with his canon self as a child, he's now fully grown and far stronger, on top of fully grown MLP dragons being far larger and stronger than Legends dragons (which incidentally means when he fought both Cinder and Valefor, they were fully grown {{Kaiju}} while he was still relatively tiny). A more minor example: in canon Spyro and Cynder were only able to knock Malefor down to where the Ancestors could seal him, whereas here Pyro II and Cinder killed him themselves [[spoiler:with a small nudge from the Grand Primevals' Parent, and even then it was just a recharge rather than an empowering]]. He also eventually mastered his Dark Form, something Legends Spyro never did.
* AllLovingHero: He refuses to give up on someone who he still views as redeemable, with his wife Cinder as a key example. This notably extends to the Changelings as well, as he has never shown racism or evil towards them.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He's a [[SemiDivine demi-Ryujin god]] who embodies Restoration, Elements, and Fate.
* AttendingYourOwnFuneral: Everyone believed he and Cinder I died saving the world (to be fair, he kinda ''did'') and it took them several weeks to get home. They arrived ''during'' their memorial service, much to everyone's shock.
* BackFromTheDead: Overclocking his powers to reverse and undo Valefor's cataclysm actually ''did'' kill him and he was dead for a few moments before he was brought back [[spoiler:by the Grand Primevals' parent.]]
* BerserkButton: Due to being raised by a family of them, harming Breezies or abusing them is one of the easiest ways to enrage him, to the point his Dragon Lord subjects refuse to even touch them out of fear of his wrath.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Pyro II is a noble, heroic Dragon after Prince Arcaniss' own, but even he have limits to his nobility. When his wrath is unleashed, especially now that he is an adult and very experienced Dragon Lord, few things can stand against a Dragon [[SemiDivine demigod son]] of [[TheDreaded Yamato-No]][[GodOfEvil -Orochi]] [[LargeAndInCharge the size]] of a [[{{Kaiju}} small mountain]] with [[PersonOfMassDestruction the strength to match]], as well as a [[MagicKnight seasoned warrior with command over powerful elemental magic]] and thousands of years of growth and training to hone his skills.
** During the 'Storm King Crisis', Pyro II and Lady Cinder led the Avalar Dragonflights and other Skylanders to battle against invading Storm Empire forces, backed up by a renegade Dragonflight, with Pyro II leading a force of Avalar Dragons and allies to take with one fleet/army while his consort and other Avalar leaders and forces deal with the other two. While Pyro II held back most of his might battling the fleet/army (still more than enough to stalemate and than pushing them back), he found himself increasingly infuriated by the atrocities the Storm Empire forces committed, whether seeing them in action or discovering the aftermath, which would culminate in him learning their Yeti warlord [[BerserkButton captured a group of Dragonfly Breezies as 'Trophy Thralls']] and [[DeadGuyOnDisplay intend to frame them like a Butterfly collection when he have the chance]]. Now [[RageBreakingPoint pissed off beyond reason]], after [[HeroOfAnotherStory his son rescued the Breezies]] and [[SlaveLiberation liberated most of the thralls]] attached to that fleet, Pyro II would upon encountering their main force based and mustering in Shattered Vale tell his forces to hang back, then [[OneWingedAngel assumed his true size and power as a Dragon demigod]] and later on his '[[SuperpoweredEvilSide Dark Form]]' on top of it. The [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 resulting engagement]] isn't so much a battle as it is [[CurbstompBattle a massacre]], with the entire Storm fleet and army of warriors [[NoSell unable to do any meaningful damage against the demigod Dragon Lord]] with all their arsenal as [[ImplacableMan he]] [[TheJuggernaut tore]] [[OneManArmy his way]] through them with dragonfire, elemental powers and his own bare claws and jaws. Virtually all of the Miche, Yeti and renegade Dragon who somehow escaped death by crushing, incineration and magic would be EatenAlive by him, including their commander. His son Pyro III, watching the hour-long spectacle with his forces, would remark later on this was both one of the most awesome and terrifying things he had ever seen, and the destruction of that fleet with the other two effectively ended the Storm Empire's attempt to invade Avalar.
* BigEater: As a Dragon demigod, his appetite is enormous, and at his present true size he's big enough to deal with a lot of trouble (and [[AssholeVictims trouble-makers]]) by [[EatingSolvesEverything eating]] [[EatingTheEnemy them]]. This is standard as to Dragons, though given his nobility he mostly just [[CagedInsideAMonster imprisons them]] [[SealedEvilInACan in there]] and selectively digests the absolute worst of the lot.
--> '''Pyro II:''' [Picking his teeth after eating a camp of Griffon pirates/slavers] [[EatenAlive Hmm...]] [[TastesLikeChicken Tastes]] [[{{Pun}} like]] [[DeadpanSnarker chicken]].
** During the 'Storm King Crisis', he ended up eating nearly an entire fleet and army from the Storm Empire after [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 decimating them]] [[OneManArmy by himself]] in a decisive battle, sending ''tens of thousands'' of Miche and Yetis, as well as hundreds of Dragons of a renegade Dragonflight allied with the Storm Empire, all down his gullet. Granted, he was ''really'' [[UnstoppableRage pissed off]] at the time, and they [[AssholeVictim asked for it]]. He did let some of those he ate back out as promised after the war, with the rest remaining stuck in his innards or even digested for their unrepentant ways.
* BigGood: He's this for Avalar, being a Legends Spyro who lived up to his full potential. Notably, his writer has confirmed while there ''are'' other Dragonflights and Dragon Lords in Avalar besides Pyro II's, [[JustTheFirstCitizen he's unofficially their leader]].
* BiggerOnTheInside: Standard as to Dragons, especially divines and demi-divines, Pyro II has much more room inside his belly than even his already gigantic appearance suggests, which prove convenient for it to serve as a prison for many wayward Dragons and evildoers he dealt with, like that [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 whole fleet/army]] worth of Storm Empire forces during the 'Storm King Crisis'
* CagedInsideAMonster: Less horrible on account of being a noble and heroic Dragon, but presently as Dragon Lord many crimes or enemies Pyro II handles are punished/dealt with by him eating and imprisoning them inside his innards.
* CasualKink: After realizing how much repressing her sadism and her self-loathing over it is hurting Cinder I, he helps her get through her issues with it and offers to let her 'play rough' with him. It's noted Pyro II isn't a masochist, but he is [[NighInvulnerable durable enough]] to let Cinder I fantasize and do things to him that would hurt a normal dragon but doesn't even tickle him.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Pyro II is noted to have this and put a lot of pressure on himself to be a good hero.
* ContrivedCoincidence: His adoptive family decides to name him after his ancestor despite being unaware of his lineage. His revised bio explains they were aware of the original Pyro and his legends, even if they didn't know they were related.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He's gained control over his Dark Form, causing it to change from a SuperPoweredEvilSide to a straight up SuperMode.
* DefusingTheTykeBomb: He unknowingly did this to Cinder. He rescued her and proceeded to treat her like any other person, resulting in her realizing how awful her raising and how she ended up really way, and thus make a HeelFaceTurn.
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: After his HeroicSacrifice, this happens with him and Cinder, though he's already dead when she caught him. Thankfully, he gets better.
* DisappointedByTheMotive: His overall response to Valefor's plan of unleashing a cataclysm that will turn the Cycle anew, for motives and reasons that remain unclear. Subverted when he eventually ''does'' learn, though it did provided a few laughs before the reveal.
-->'''Pyro II''': Honestly, it made no ''[[InsaneTrollLogic thrice-damned sense]]'' whatsoever.
* ElementalPowers: Being a Mana Drake gives him access to magic which can enchant his flames with various elemental powers.
* {{Expy}}: Of ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfSpyro'' Spyro, though in his case, he takes after Spyro from ''Legend of Spyro'''s Classic era.
* FamedInStory: He and his wife are Avalar's greatest heroes, renown and admired by all within them. Even outside of Avalar, he's highly respected for having saved the entire world.
* FamousAncestor: His predecessor, Pyro is a dragon who saved the dragons of his homeland from a wicked troll warlock in his youth and continued to face terrible villains in defense of the Dragonlands throughout his life in the First Age. His father is also the infamous Yamata no Orochi.
* GiganticAdultsTinyBabies: Receive this as both a young KidHero and an adult Dragon Lord as per Draconic standards, more so than in "Legends of Spyro" given the size differences between young and adult Dragons in MLP and in the Codexverse compare to the original trilogy.
** Owing to their adult demigod statuses (real or artificial), both Valefor and Cinder, Terror of the Skies dwarfed Pyro II back when he was just a young drake. As in, in their true forms, they are literally ''size of small mountains'', and even in their 'mortal' adult forms would still had dwarfed Pyro II at 50 ft or more.
** NOW that he's a mature adult demigod himself along with his mate Lady Cinder, the Obsidian Queen, Dragon Lord Pyro II's 'default' form in itself rivals Dragon Lord Ember's father Torch and Sergio the Fire Wyrm in size, while his true form is also size of a small mountain - ''even bigger'' if he shifts into his 'Dark Form' - compare to his son Pyro III, who is now around his age back when he and Cinder killed Valefor and saved the world. Other fully-grown mortal Dragon Lords could fit into the palm of his claws and aren't even as big as one of his ''smaller teeth'', to say nothing of Pyro III, who is likely mite-sized in proportion to him and his mother Cinder.
* HeroicRROD: He overclocked his powers to reverse Valefor's cataclysm and save the world. However, doing so required ''far'' more divine power than his body could possibly have had, and thus uses his life force and even stresses his soul to the point it fractures. This actually kills him for a few moments before [[spoiler:the Grand Primevals' parent]] brought him BackFromTheDead.
* HeroicSacrifice: Overclocking his power to the degree he did to save the world from Valefor's cataclysm actually ''did'' kill him and could've even destroyed his soul. He's only still around because he was brought BackFromTheDead [[spoiler:by the Grand Primevals' parent as a reward for his actions.]]
* ImmuneToFate: His domain of fate makes him this, as he's able to guide it, not the other way around. Notably, this includes being able to straight up NoSell Ragnarokkr and Surtr's doom curses.
* {{Kaiju}}: As a Dragon, he is this by default, with his 'normal' size being around that of Torch, Ember's father. Factoring in his Draconic demigod status (being a spawn of Orochi himself), his true demigod size is that of a ''small mountain'' (I.e. somewhere below 1,000 meters in height), making him this to even mortal Dragons. And ''then'' there's his '[[SuperPoweredEvilSide Dark Form]]', which further increases his enormity on a scale similar to Spike when he experienced his '[[SuperPoweredEvilSide Greed Growth]]'. Pyro II had milk this for all its worth by assuming his true form and holding up rival Dragon Lords or other belligerent parties in the palm of his gigantic claws to his grinning face, which is often enough to make them [[OhCrap reconsider]] [[BringMeMyBrownPants their]] [[BreakTheHaughty hostility]] upon realizing they are ''insects'' to him and allowing him to resolve conflicts peacefully.
* KidHeroAllGrownUp: He was a young kid when he defeated Cinder and barely a teen when they beat Valefor. Now thousands of years later, he's a fully grown draconic Demi-God and BigGood of Avalar, as well as it's undisputed most powerful hero alongside his mate Cinder.
* LargeAndInCharge: Now fully-grown, as a Dragon he is this by default, making him this trope with his Dragon Lordship. His Demigod status and the fact like the Giant races Dragon divines are, at minimum, as large to their mortal children/subjects/worshippers as normal Dragons are to Ponies and other non-Dragon races, meaning he is actually much larger than even the Dragon baseline. His default form rivals Ex-Dragon Lord Torch and even great Fire Wyrm Sergio mentioned in Chrysalis' comic backstory in size, but in reality he's size of ''small mountains'' at his true Demigod size - and even BIGGER when assuming his Dark Form - only dwarfed by his mate Lady Cinder, who is big even by Dragon demigod standards. This proved convenient for Pyro II in deterring conflicts with others like rival Dragonflights and ending disputes without bloodshed, as many mortal Dragon Lords find themselves reconsidering their belligerence when they are brought up to his grinning face in the palm of his gigantic claws, realizing that they are only as small as ''Breezies'' at most compared to his ginormous true form.
* LegacyCharacter: There have been three Pyros: the first who lived in the First Age, this one, and his son with Cinder, Pyro III. All three are competent, effective heroes.
* LikeFatherUnlikeSon: His father is ''Yamata no Orochi'', but Pyro is TheCape whereas his father is a tyrannical monster.
* MentorArchetype: He is revealed to be one to Ember regrading pyrokinesis in a [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/869177535/4904426185 drabble]].
* MuggingTheMonster: Two thugs [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4917362626 once attempted to mug him]] despite knowing ''exactly'' who he is. Predictably, [[CurbStompBattle he ended up putting them in the hospital]].

'''Pyro II:''' And a demi-god.\
'''Thug:''' Yeah, well there's two of us and only one of you!"\
'''Pyro II:''' "..."
* MultipleHeadCase: {{Defied}}: despite being the son of the eight-headed Yamata-no-Orochi, Pyro only has one head. He [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905645998 reveals]] this is because he ''could'' grow more heads, but it'd take a lot of effort, time, and pain he doesn't want to deal with, even if it'd make him stronger. That and it's implied this trope is at play and he'd have to deal with the other heads having personalities, and it can't be reversed.
* MundaneUtility: As a demi-god, he's absurdly durable and things that'd kill a normal dragon don't even tickle him. He exploits this to allow Cinder I to 'play rough' with him during their sex life so she can express her sadism in a healthy way and stop hurting herself over it, as she can do things that'd harm other dragons but does nothing to him.
* NoSell:
** [[WindsOfDestinyChange Fate-altering curses]] just plain don't work on him. This includes ones from deities as powerful as Ragnarokrr and Surtr.
** As it turns out, [[spoiler:Stormswirl's light drain power doesn't work on him, as he can just block it by going into his Dark Form, since Stormswirl can't drain light from darkness. He notes even if he ''could'' steal Pyro II's light, because Pyro II has mastered his Dark Form, his darkness would just fight him anyway rather than work for him.]]
* OneManArmy:
** He is this by default, having defeated many of the forces of Valefor along with his powerful lieutenants and allies with no one else but Cinder later on at his side. Even today, his power as a fully-grown Dragon demigod, mastery of elemental magic, and millennia of experience as a seasoned heroic warrior, serve to make him this even by Dragon standards.
** During the 'Storm King Crisis', he would ultimately [[CurbstompBattle crush an entire invading Storm Empire fleet and army]] by himself, decimating them in his true size and power in a [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 decisive battle]] at Shattered Vale and devouring nearly all the Miche, Yeti and renegade Dragons along with their airships and fortresses who escaped death at his claws, jaws, Dragonfire and magic.
* OnlySaneMan: He's noted as being the most level headed and mature of the three Pyros.
* PapaWolf: He's this to his kids. Finding out one of the dragons Stormswirl, the Light Drinker corrupted was his son was one of the things that prompted him and Cinder I to confront the evil warlock personally.
* PintSizedKid: Used to be this compare to Valefor and pre-purified Cinder, albeit makes up for it by being a PintSizedPowerhouse. NOW the situation is reversed now that he's an adult with his son Pyro III, while he amplifies Dragonkind's age-size disparity thanks to his demigod heritage in his true size and power.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Able to turn his Primordial Quintessence into an immensely devastating breath of purple energy. He's also got purple scales.
* RaisedByWolves: Just like the source material, he would be adopted by dragonflies. In here, it is dragonfly breezies. It's because of this that he developed a BerserkButton towards people harming Breezies, since mistreating them would be a ''massive'' disservice to the very race that raised him. It's also noted he had to learn to use draconic terminology rather equine after discovering what he really is.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: In canon, the three Spyro incarnations aren't even in the same universe, let alone related. Here he's the descendant of the original Spyro analog and father of the Skylanders' version of Spyro analog. He's also the spawn of Yamata no Orochi.
* TheSacredDarkness: What his Dark Form is now, representing his acceptance of his inner darkness and becoming whole. As such it's gone from a SuperpoweredEvilSide to a straight up SuperMode. [[spoiler:This proves to be a major reason he can fight Stormswirl, the Light Drinker, as it effectively negates Stormswirl's light absorption powers and forces him into an actual ''fight''.]]
* SapientEatSapient: [[BlueAndOrangeMorality Like many Dragons]], he has at some point lost compulsion against eating smaller sapients or [[MonstrousCannibalism even fellow Dragons]], though his nobility meant he only restricts it to genuinely evil and villainous, and even then only digests the absolute worst, while keeping the rest [[CagedInsideAMonster imprisoned]] [[SealedEvilInACan inside]] [[BiggerOnTheInside his]] [[StomachOfHolding belly]].
* SemiDivine: A dark example. While he descended from Pyro, he is also spawned from Orochi, making him a draconic Demi-God. Valefor uses this fact to psychologically crush him while briefly repossessing Cinder. Thankfully, both of them snapped out of it and stopped him from unleashing a cataclysm that would had made the Cycle turn anew.
* SinsOfOurFathers: Valefor preyed upon this idea with his BreakingLecture to Pyro, pointing out that as the son of Yamata no Orochi, he's destined to bring darkness and desolation to the world, just like Valefor, and this is a fate he's locked into by blood. It nearly worked, combined with everything else he'd been through, but Cinder breaks not only herself out of Valefor's control, but helps snap Pyro out of it.
* SizeShifter: Owing to being a Dragon demigod, his true size is enormous enough that he must adjust his form's true magnitude in order to fit in without causing enormous damage. After mastering certain Draconic magics of the Avalar Dragonflights, he can shrink to a default size where he is around the same size as Torch, the Radiant Emerald Saber or Sergio, the great Fire Wyrm of the west. When necessary, he assumes his true form, which is the size of ''small mountains''. He can grow ''even bigger'' than that after mastering his '[[SuperPoweredEvilSide Dark Form]]', which induces a state of enlargement similar to the one Spike experienced (which, to put into perspective, turned Spike from a baby Dragon 1 foot tall to a monstrous version of his [[{{Kaiju}} adult Dragon form]] at least 50 feet in height).
* StomachOfHolding: Being a Dragon and a powerful demigod at that, his innards are big enough to serve as prisons for many villains and renegades.
** During the 'Storm King Crisis', Pyro II - pissed off at the Storm Empire's atrocities in Avalar - assumed his true size and form, and ate nearly the entire Storm Empire fleet/army he was fighting and a [[MonstrousCannibalism renegade Dragonflight]] which supported them after [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 crushing them by himself]] in the decisive '[[CurbstompBattle Battle]]' of Shattered Vale. He did accept some of their numbers' surrenders, perhaps hoping to escape the fate of their comrades - but unfortunately for them, he holds prisoners of war in the same places as many other evil beings, so he ends up eating them anyway.
* SuperPoweredEvilSide: Has a dark form due to being exposed to Valefor's tainted essence. It enhances his power but renders him completely berserk. However, after centuries [[SuperMode he eventually gained control over his darker side and can control himself now]], though he is still more aggressive and brutal.
* TheOnlyOne: It's stressed he and Cinder I are the only ones in Avalar that can fight Stormswirl, the Light Drinker head on and have a chance at winning. This isn't purely because of sheer power and skill (though that's part of it), however, but because [[spoiler:their Dark Forms completely negate his light absorption power.]] Master Aeon ''might'' be powerful enough (though Stormswirl has gotten stronger since they last fought due to absorbed light), but he's also got emotional baggage from them being [[CainAndAbel twin brothers]], something Pyro II and Cinder I lack.
* VictorySex: Implied: after defeating Stormswirl once and for all [[spoiler:and saving their long lost children]], he and Cinder I tell Pyro III to [[spoiler:get to know his siblings]] while they deal with things in private, which Pyro III soon realizes ([[BrainBleach to his dismay]]) what the private things are. Justified, as the trauma of their children's fate was why they hadn't had any children since and they want to now that it's Year of the Dragon (and thus mating season for Avalar Dragons) after the catharsis of beating him once and for all [[spoiler:while also saving all their lost children]].
* VillainousLineage: His father was Yamata no Orochi, the eight-headed Demon King. This revelation nearly broke him when Valefor told him, but thanks to Cinder he overcame it.
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: His job has a tendency to keep him away from raising his son, much to his dismay.
* WillfullyWeak: He's incredibly powerful and explicitly one of the two most powerful heroes in Avalar, but he hasn't ascended from Demi-God to full god yet. He's implied this is a conscious choice because he wants to remain Dragon Lord to the end of his term, and becoming a full god would disqualify him.
* WindsOfDestinyChange: This is how his domain of Fate works: he guides fate and thus can change its path with his actions, if not reject and reroute it. Notably, by overclocking his power to an absurd (and ''fatal'' degree, even if he was brought BackFromTheDead) degree, he managed to change the fate of the ''entire planet'' to reverse Valefor's cataclysm. This also makes him immune to curses effecting fate, such as Ragnarokkr or Surtr's doom curses.

Lady Cinder I (her old entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Heroes-and-Villains-10-802103561 here]]; her new entries [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-57-871322352 here]]) is the demi-Ryujin goddess of Redemption, Freedom, Darkness, and Fear (previously Ruin, Malice, Darkness, and Fear), and is the beloved wife of Dragon Lord Pyro II.\

Lady Cinder I, or Cinder, is formerly the adopted daughter/minion of Valefor, who was born and raised (and abused and corrupted) to be his most powerful and terrifying agent in carrying out his plans for conquest and destruction. However, battle and interaction with Pyro II, who saw through her brainwashing and corruption and reached out into the redeemable person beneath her exterior, eventually making her see Valefor for who he truly is and turning against him. Even so, the mark of her former loyalties remain and haunt her to this day, but nevertheless she is now a firmly heroic drakaina and love of the one who saved her, respected and feared for putting her might as an artificial demigod dragoness for her family and the cause of good.
----
* AbsurdlySharpClaws: Possesses wing-claws and a tail of 'organic metal' which could cut through a lot of things and make her a terrifying close-quarters combatant when combined with her might as an artificial demigoddess. Putting them on involved a lot of surgery courtesy of Valefor and his minions, which Cinder recalled to be 'an agonizing process'.
* TheAce: Back when she was evil, she was likely the most powerful creature in Avalar while her master Valefor was sealed. She and her husband are now noted as being the two strongest heroes in all of Avalar/Skylands.
* AdaptationalBadass: While roughly on part with her canon self as a child, she's now fully grown and far stronger, on top of fully grown MLP dragons being far larger and stronger than Legends dragons (which incidentally means when she fought Valefor, he was fully grown {{Kaiju}} while she was still relatively tiny and her evil adult self was far larger and stronger than in canon). A more minor example: in canon Spyro and Cynder were only able to knock Malefor down to where the Ancestors could seal him, whereas here she and Pyro II killed him outright [[spoiler:with a small nudge from the Grand Primevals' Parent, and even then it was just a recharge rather than an empowering]].
* AdaptationalVillainy: Minor example: In canon, Cynder was brainwashed and thus when purified instantly turned good. Here, Cinder was genuinely evil due to being raised as such and initially faked a HeelFaceTurn with intent to backstab Spyro and rejoin her 'father.' However, being treated with kindness and love for the first time in her life caused her to make a HeelFaceTurn for real.
* AndIMustScream:
** Suffered this from Valefor when he possessed her to fight Pyro II during their last confrontation. Luckily, thanks to Pyro II and [[HeroicWillpower her own willpower]], she managed to break free from it.
** Can inflict one through her powers over shadow by absorbing her enemies into her own shadow, a logical extension of her own ability to dive in and out and travel as a shadow that she developed. Apparently she can keep them in there as long as she like, draining them for extra strength/vitality with her enemies unable to escape.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: After they defeating Valefor and Pyro II realizing that he is the only one who can stop his cataclysm, which is likely going to entail a HeroicSacrifice, she chooses to stay with him and tells him she loves him, which he returns. Even more heartbreaking than in canon, as Pyro actually ''does'' die in the process and she spends several moments crying over his body before he's brought BackFromTheDead.
* TheAssimilator: Had learnt how to absorb her foes into her shadow and their essence into herself through [[CastingAShadow her powers]], draining [[ManaDrain strength]] and [[LifeDrain vitality]] from those she absorbed. It's potentially reversible - That is, [[AndIMustScream assuming she EVER lets them go]].
* BadPowersBadPeople: Originally, she was a demigoddess who embodied things like Ruin, Malice, Darkness, and Fear, and it stemmed from the horrific modifications Valefor gave her in order to turn into his living weapon. And because of her utterly cruel and abusive upbringing, she became genuinely evil even after joining Pyro II's side... until his kindness touched her enough that she later pulled a genuine HeelFaceTurn upon realizing the monster Valefor truly is.
* BadPowersGoodPeople: Post-HeelFaceTurn, she gained 'good' domains like Redemption and Freedom, but still kept her Darkness and Fear domains from her time as was Valefor's minion/weapon. It represents how, despite being irrevocably changed in many ways, she made a choice to turn good and become a beloved heroine and ruling Draconic matriarch.
* BattleCouple: She and Pyro II are this, after she admitted to being in love with him after defeating Valefor.
* BecomingTheMask: After being purified, she was actually still loyal to Valefor and intended to backstab Pyro. However, while pretending to have fully changed, she was treated with genuine kindness and compassion, which gradually caused her to change for real. When she attempts to kill Pyro in his sleep, she finds she can't do it and, during a conversation with him, has an actual HeelRealization.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: She is genuinely reformed, long since redeemed, and firmly on the side of good. But she still retains a ruthless streak from her villainous/antiheroic past that she reserve for any villain who crosses her, and is noted to still be far more deadly and less merciful than her more noble and heroic husband.
** Owing to completely sympathizing with poor Apterus' tragic life, she claimed that she would had killed her kidnapper herself had Apterus not beat her to him. That Changeling King's father Emperor Blackthorn [[IHaveNoSon approves]] and [[VillainRespect expects her more than capable of doing so]].
** When a renegade group of 'Winter Court' Changelings, for reasons unknown ([[spoiler:heavily implied to be actually disavowed Summer Court Changeling assassins]]), made an attempt to kill her husband, Cinder went ''ballistic''. What followed was a terrible slaughter as she personally [[EatenAlive ate half of the hundreds of renegade Changelings alive]], while the other half was [[KillItWithFire incinerated]], [[PoisonousPerson poisoned]], [[BlowYouAway blown away]], [[TheAssimilator absorbed into]] [[CastingAShadow her shadow]] ([[AndIMustScream presumably forever]]), and [[DrivenToMadness driven mad with fear]] (not clarified whether [[SupernaturalFearInducer using her powers]] or just from [[TheDreaded sheer horror]]). Either way, it's clear that you [[BerserkButton do NOT mess with her loved ones]].
** When Stormswirl (who she has a ''very'' [[ItsPersonal personal grudge against]] for corrupting several generations of her children and forcing them to be banished, as well as just corrupted her youngest) returns, she asks Aeon what Stormswirl expects them to do to him if they catch him, because she wants to do something ''worse'', and [[{{Sadist}} will enjoy every second of it]].
* BerserkButton:
** Do NOT hurt her husband Pyro II or her other friends and family. ''She'' '''''will''''' ''make you'' '''''suffer'''''.
** Do not do anything like resembling the horrific abuse she went through thanks to Valefor in her youth. Had not for Apterus beating her to it, she would had found and kill that Changeling King who kidnapped and abused Apterus herself after hearing about what he did.
** [[spoiler:Valefor]], who turned out to be [[spoiler:OnlyMostlyDead, but damned and trapped in a Hell-Realm]], pushed her BerserkButton HARD when he revealed to her as an Undead spirit projection that [[spoiler:he [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil conceived]] another [[ChildByRape daughter]] - Cinder II - and actually treated her more kindly than he ever did with Cinder I partly out of spite for his former weapon]]. To say Cinder I [[UnstoppableRage reacted badly]] would be a massive understatement.
* BerserkerTears: When she goes ballistic on Valefor during the final battle with him, she's crying the entire time due to letting out her entire life's worth of suffering he'd inflicted on her out on him.
* BigSisterInstinct:
** Developed this with Eimuria, who due to being as child-like as she was and having HeroWorship of her and Pyro II, Cinder I found endearing, despite getting aggravated with her crush on Pyro. It's to the point her being kidnapped after Cyros tricked her into breaking her heart caused her Dark Form to trigger.
** She develops this with Cinder II, seeing her as herself if she'd never suffered as much or been the Terror of the Skies. As such, she wants to make sure what happened to her doesn't happen to the second Cinder.
* BioAugmentation: A fantasy variant. To make her into his ultimate weapon, young Cinder was subjected to 'agonizing' surgery to make her more deadly, and then had Valefor's Primordial Quintessence (he's a demigod) and malevolence forcefully assimilated into her, turning her into an incredibly powerful artificial Draconic demigoddess.
* BlowYouAway: She was originally a wind dragoness until Valefor corrupted her for his own purposes, and still retains power over wind, allowing her to blow her enemies away with gusts of powerful vortexes.
* BodyHorror: Her BioAugmentation into an artificial demigoddess and SuperSoldier involved a lot of this. Her metal blades being put in alone involved having her original bone ones ''ripped out'' and the new ones put in while they were still red hot. Her transformation into her corrupted adult form was also extremely agonizing, with her body practically ripping itself apart and rebuilding itself.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Several times by her own abusive adopted father/master Valefor. She broke free of this thanks to Pyro II and her own will.
* BreathWeapon: On top of normal dragonfire, she could infuse her other powers into it for various effects, including a powerful '[[CastingAShadow Shadow Fire]]' breath and a purple breath attack that's distinctive of Draconic divines and demigods.
* BrokenBird: Explicitly calls herself a 'Broken Soul' after all the [[DarkAndTroubledPast abuses and traumas she went through thanks to Valefor]]. While she's more readjusted now, she's still haunted and deeply affected by her past.
* CallingTheOldManOut: Gave an EPIC TheReasonYouSuckSpeech to her adoptive 'father'/master Valefor for her torturous childhood/whelphood and using her as little more than a tool to his ends, claiming the (recently deceased) Dragon Lord who adopted and loved her like his own daughter is a better father than he ever was or would be. All the while beating the absolute living crap out of Valefor after kicking his influence out of her head, unlocking the ability to generate her own Primordial Quintessence and become a demigoddess once more.
* CastingAShadow: She has powers over shadows as part of her power-set. She could [[ShadowWalker jump into her own shadow and travel through it]], and also combine it with other powers such as breathing 'Shadow Fire'. She had also learnt how to absorb things into her shadow and even assimilate them through it, which she used for things like [[MundaneUtility carrying her belongings]]... or [[AndIMustScream trapping]] her enemies into it/herself.
* CasualKink: While she felt a lot of self-loathing over her {{Sadis|t}}m, those around her turned out to be a lot more accepting than she expected. This includes Pyro II being willing to [[SafeSaneAndConsensual let her 'play rough']] with him, even if he's not into it himself. This is entirely healthy and her being better off than she previously was.
* ColdBloodedTorture: Subjected to this by Valefor, her adoptive, [[AbusiveParents abusive]] 'father'/master during her augmentation into his most powerful minion/weapon. Given Valefor's twisted and bitterly evil character, Cinder speculated that this is as much due to Valefor doing it ForTheEvulz as it is incidentally to the augmentation process.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Thanks to [[AbusiveParent Valefor]], she has nothing resembling a normal whelphood and was practically raised, trained and modified (horribly) from birth to be a living weapon he would use to further his schemes, all experiences of which were quite brutal and painful.
* DarkIsEvil: She was this back when she was the Terror of the Skies, being a gigantic black dragon with shadow and other 'evil' powers, including a domain of Darkness.
* DarkIsNotEvil: After her HeelFaceTurn, her appearance and powers haven't changed, rather she just uses them for good. Her Dark Form, formally a SuperpoweredEvilSide, became this after she accepted her inner darkness as part of her rather than tried to restrain and deny it. Notably, Darkness is still one of her domains as a draconic Demi-God and one of two she kept from her evil days.
* DiedInYourArmsTonight: She catches Spyro after he saved the world, only to find doing so [[HeroicSacrifice killed him]]. She then quietly weeps over him as she [[DespairEventHorizon waits for the apparently inevitable end]]. Subverted in that [[spoiler:the Grand Primevals' Parent]] brings him BackFromTheDead, at which point she hugs him tight.
* TheDreaded:
** Back when she was a [[SuperSoldier living weapon]], [[{{Tykebomb}} born and raised]] to serve Valefor, she was known as the 'Terror of the Skies' owing to her incredible supernaturally-empowered might, [[OneManArmy which allowed her to practically wipe the floor]] [[TheWorfEffect with not one but MANY Dragon Lords]] and further her master's plans with the artifacts she took from them.
** Many Changeling Kings in the Summer Court are considering moving against Dragon Lord Pyro II as he was becoming a threat to their schemes, but some refrain from doing so because they know Lady Cinder would protect him, and they also know that she would be far less merciful and far more deadly than her husband if they catch her ire.
** Inverted when comes to Valefor. After everything he's done to her and Pyro and how dangerous he is, she is ''terrified'' of Valefor to the point of having a HeroicBSOD when she realizes the Dark Ages Alliance is planning to bring him BackFromTheDead. She's still willing to fight him, but she's certainly ''scared''.
* DisappointedByTheMotive: Partially-Subverted. While she is just as clueless as everyone else to the ''exact'' motives behind Valefor's world-conquering/ending desires, her past of being (horrifically) raised by Valefor and thus 'understands' him better any-drake ever had gave her some insights on Valefor for speculation, her theories ranging from Valefor personally believing it was BecauseDestinySaysSo, [[DystopiaJustifiesTheMeans wanting to rise and rule over the ashes of what remains]], being an AbsoluteXenophobe who [[FeelingOppressedByTheirExistence hates everything that's not him]], to simply being [[AxCrazy so mad and twisted in his evil]] he can't find joy in anything else [[{{Sadist}} except in the pain]] and [[OmnicidalManiac destruction of others]]. She turns out to be right.
-->'''Cinder''': "Valefor...was insane. I've BEEN insane, and it's easy to rationalize the irrational when you're not sane. But... I think Valefor had fallen so far into evil and become so bitter that [[ForTheEvulz he could only find joy in causing suffering and destruction]]. I think that's why he raised me as he did, because even trying to raise a loyal weapon, he could only find pleasure in pain. And that's how I was when I was the Terror of the Skies. I could only feel happy when I was hurting someone...I STILL feel this rush of joy when I hurt someone - and I hate myself for it - but unlike me, Valefor made HIMSELF that way. Still, despite everything? I can't help but feel sorry for him after experiencing what it's like to find joy in something else."
* EatenAlive: Once personally devoured hundreds of rogue Changelings alive [[TooDumbToLive for attempting to kill]] [[BerserkButton her husband Pyro II]]. Given she's a Dragon, that's [[BigEater more or less expected]]. Can also 'devour' those who she [[AndIMustScream absorbs into her shadow]] by gradually assimilating their essence into herself until nothing remains.
* EvilOverlord: As Valefor was still SealedEvilInACan, back when she was the Terror of the Skies, Cinder was for all intents and purposes the ruler of Avalar after defeating and capturing all but one of its Dragon Lords. She would rule it with an iron claw until Pyro II eventually defeated and purified her.
* {{Expy}}: She's based on the first Cynder from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfSpyro'', except here, she's an adult Ryujin demigoddess with extra traits.
* FamedInStory: She and Pyro II are renowned as Avalar's greatest heroes, admired by all. Even outside of it, she's greatly admired for having helped save the world.
* GoodParents: Despite her utterly horrific past, she loves the children she sired with her husband Pyro II, showing them her warm and caring side that she normally doesn't show to others. This is mostly because she understood what it was like to have a loveless, horrible whelphood and does not want her children to suffer the same as she had.
* HeelFaceTurn: It took a lot of effort and time, and she even only pretended to be 'reformed' in order to get at Pyro and aid her master at an opportune time, but eventually the experience of being treated so kindly and with love by Pyro and others, especially a Dragon Lord who all-but-adopted her as his own daughter, she come to realize what her 'father'/master Valefor really was and turn on him for real.
* HeelRealization: She had hers when she was preparing to try and kill Pyro in his sleep, but couldn't bring herself to do it after getting to know and becoming friends with her. Her following talk with him causes her to realize how unnatural and horrible she'd been treated and that Valefor no longer deserves her loyalty, resulting in her breaking down crying.
* HeroicBSOD: Goes into a PTSD attack when she realizes that the Dark Ages Alliance is about to resurrect Valefor, who she's understandably terrified of.
* HumanWeapon: Well, 'Dragon Weapon', but Valefor had her modified and altered into his ultimate weapon and an artificial Demi-Goddess. However, it's noted while she was loyal to her 'father,' Valefor saw her less of a loyal heir and more of a living WeaponOfMassDestruction to sic on his enemies. It wasn't until her defeat by Pyro and purification that anyone actually treated her as a ''person''.
* IceQueen: Noted to be cold and distant due to her dark and troubled past, but is capable of showing warmth and closeness to those she loves.
* {{Intangibility}}: She can turn into living darkness and allow attacks to just pass through her. This allows her to counter Stormswirl's own version, as they can touch one another in that form.
* InUniverseCatharsis: Going berserk on Valefor and giving him a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech didn't really hurt him, and she knew it wouldn't, but she needed the emotional release of her entire life's worth of pain on him. This leaves her ready to team with Pyro II to take him down for real.
* ItsPersonal:
** She loathes Valefor for making her childhood a living nightmare and everything else he's done to her family. This includes assisting Stormswirl in corrupting several ''[[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4907406271 generations]]'' of her children, forcing Aeon to banish them.
** Stormswirl is probably the only other being she despises as much as Valefor for corrupting several generations of her children and forcing Aeon to banish them to protect the Core of Light. Needless to say, when he escapes his prison she and Pyro II [[RoaringRampageOfRevenge are very keen on defeating him once and for all]].
* TheJuggernaut: As the Terror of the Skies, it's noted she steamrolled practically everything in her path, with the only two defeats she's known to have suffered being against Torch and then against Pyro II in their final fight. It's implied she's grown back into this as an adult, if not become stronger, and she's one of the few beings the Summer Court is wary of.
* LargeAndInCharge: Like her husband, she's a demigoddess and thus is larger than mortal dragons now that she matured into adulthood. Normally, she appears in a form which rivals Ex-Dragon Lord Torch and even great Fire Wyrm Sergio mentioned in Chrysalis' comic backstory in size - in reality, her Draconic demigoddess status meant she is size of ''small mountains'' (i.e. everything near or below the 1000 meters mark) at her true, maximum size. It's noted though she's big even by Dragon demigod standards, [[TinyGuyHugeGirl dwarfing even her husband Spyro]], making her likely the largest Dragon of the Avalar Dragonflight they co-rule.
* LifeDrain: Related to her other powers, she had relatively recently developed a way to do these, having been forced to assimilate Valefor's Primordial Quintessence and malevolence into herself in the past and thus have past experience/precedent. This requires her to absorb her enemies into herself through her shadow, and either [[AndIMustScream keep them alive in there forever]] for a slow-and-steady drain, or just keep going until nothing remains, functionally [[EatenAlive eating them alive]] or [[TheAssimilator assimilating them]].
* MamaBear: She's very protective towards her children, and messing with her family is an easy way to invite death. Part of this is due to how horrifically she was treated by Valefor as a child. Stormswirl [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4907761724 corrupting her son, Pyro III, was what prompted her and Pyro II to confront the warlock directly]]. It later turns out he already did it to ''several'' generations of her and Pyro II's children, meaning she has [[ItsPersonal every reason to utterly despise him.]] It is noted that upon learning what happened to Pyro III, she permeated so much rage and hatred that [[EmotionEater Changelings]] miles away felt sick despite [[TranquilFury never raising her tone throughout the conversation]].
* MeatgrinderSurgery: Her 'organic metal' claws, among other enhancements, were the result of this, and as Cinder recalls it was nightmarishly agonizing. While only implied in her original entry, her expanded and updated one shows this involved [[TheDragon Maul]] ''ripping'' out the bone blades she was born with and the new ones being put in while still red hot, with her conscious the entire time.
* MonsterProgenitor: Her unique traits are being passed onto her offsprings with Pyro II and has potential of eventually develop into a new species/race of Dragon. This caught the attention of the Draconic Parent Deities Bahamut and Tiamat and slated her for [[GodInHumanForm potential apotheosis into true godhood]].
* NighInvulnerability: Divines are by nature extremely hard to damage, but Cinder's domains make her even more difficult to damage even by their standards, as she can simply turn intangible to phase through attacks. Even if she ''is'' damaged, her pain tolerance is so high she's likely to just [[NoSell shrug it off.]]
* NoSell:
** [[spoiler:Stormswirl's light absorption power has no effect on her in her Dark Form, as he can't drain light from darkness. Pyro II, however, implies that even if he ''did'' manage to steal their light, it ''still'' wouldn't work because they've mastered their darkness and accepted it as part of them, meaning said darkness would keep fighting him anyway.]]
** [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/897831515/4963231204 A group of Talon Bàisian dragon hunters]] manage to land a volly of Pyropenetrator rounds (made ''specifically'' to kill dragons and being very good at it) into her. While it damaged her, she just shrugs it off without any issue due to a combination of [[SuperToughness demi-goddess durability]] and simply because what Valefor did to turn her into a SuperSoldier was so agonizingly painful it makes such wounds ''tickle''.
* NoSocialSkills: As a result of not having a proper whelphood, she has reduced social skills and relies on her more charismatic husband for social and diplomatic occasions.
* OddFriendship: She and Fluttershy/Queen Gaia are very close friends, despite being a mountain sized dragon demi-goddess with sadistic tendencies and a shy, timid little pegasus who wouldn't hurt a fly and is afraid of dragons.
* OhCrap: Has a ''major'' one when she learns Mistletoe Dreamer is about to resurrect Valefor.
* OneManArmy: Like her husband, she was this both as Valefor's minion and later as Pyro II's ally and eventual consort. Thanks to being an artificial demigoddess and trained to be a living weapon, she wiped the floor with many Dragon Lords - some of the most powerful and capable mortal Dragons - and even after her HeelFaceTurn could still lay down the hurt with her might. Just ask the renegade swarm of Unseelie Changelings she [[CurbstompBattle curbstomped]] when they tried to assassinate her husband.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: Cinder is usually composed, confident, and able to be terrifying when she wants to be...but due to her past with him and knowing just how dangerous he is, she's very afraid of Valefor. The very prospect of him being resurrected causes her to have a PTSD attack and be genuinely terrified of the prospect of facing him again.
* PoisonousPerson: Her inspiration, Cynder, has an affinity for poison, and it is established that Smog Dragons, who are poison-affiliated, are one of the many known Dragon species/subspecies. As such, having many natural traits of other Dragons she has in fact an ability to poison her enemies.
* PostVictoryCollapse: After she flies Pyro out of the core and all the way back to the surface, she collapses with him and both are AsleepForDays.
* RedBaron: When she was still a corrupted {{Tykebomb}} minion, her might as a villainess resulted in her being called the 'Terror of the Skies'. After she had her HeelFaceTurn and became Dragon Lord Pyro II's mate, she became known as 'The Obsidian Queen'.
* TheSacredDarkness: After her HeelFaceTurn, her domain of Darkness and shadow powers took this form. Her Dark Form eventually did as well, as it now represents her acceptance of her inner darkness and herself as a whole person, allowing her to use it for good. [[spoiler:This makes her immune to Stormswirl's light absorption ability, and thus allows her to fight him head on.]]
* {{Sadist}}:
** Has self-loathing issues over the fact that she used to like hurting people, owing to how she was brought up, and even after she turned good she STILL likes hurting people. Luckily, she's now only out to hurt those of villainous disposition at the present, [[ThisIsUnforgivable especially those]] [[BerserkButton who royally]] [[UnstoppableRage pissed her off]].
** It's eventually noted that [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/947252223/5059479964 repressing her sadism]] and hating herself for it is unhealthy, as it's part of who she is. Rather, others eventually recommend her to stop hating herself for it and find other benevolent ways to express it, such as video games. It's also hinted her and Pyro II's sex life has [[SafeSaneAndConsensual changed a bit]].
* SemiDivine: An 'artificial' example, with Valefor corrupting her with his Primordial Quintessence and malevolence to turn her into the 'Terror of the Skies', a living weapon existing to do his will. She kept it after turning on Valefor, and there are hints that she has potential for true Ascension into godhood, her entry noting Tiamat and Bahumet kept an eye on her once she started passing on her other unique traits to her and Pyro II's descendants, making her on the verge of [[MonsterProgenitor creating a new race/species of Dragons]].
* SuperMode: She's long since mastered her [[SuperpoweredEvilSide Dark Form]] by accepting her dark side. As such, it no longer has any drawbacks and she can freely use it for the massive upgrade in power that comes with it.
* SupernaturalFearInducer: She possesses a screech that could drive her enemies mad with fear.
* SuperSoldier: From whelphood, she was raised and modified by Valefor to serve as his living weapon, given both his Primordial Quintessence (he's a demigod) and corrupted by his malevolence. She kept her modifications and powers even after being purged of Valefor's influence and became good, especially once she started generating her own Primordial Quintessence and became a true demigoddess herself.
* TearsOfJoy:
** She cries with joy after making it back to the surface from Equus's core with Pyro after killing Valefor and saving the world before having her PostVictoryCollapse.
** She has these again when she and Pyro II defeat Stormswirl [[spoiler:and she realizes it restored all her lost children, who hold her no ill will for it.]]
* TheOnlyOne: It's stressed her and Pyro II are the only ones in Avalar that can fight Stormswirl, the Light Drinker head on and have a chance at winning.
* TogetherInDeath: After Pyro died in a HeroicSacrifice to reverse Valefor's cataclysm, she merely cradles his body, weeping, and fully intending to die with him at the core, as there's no apparent way to survive the situation. Thankfully, [[spoiler:the Grand Primevals' parent]] had other ideas, resulting in him being brought BackFromTheDead and they survive, Subverting this.
* TranquilFury: When she initially hears Stormswirl has returned, her reaction looks like it will be UnstoppableRage. However, once she learns he's corrupted her son, she becomes deathly stoic and calm. It's noted this is scarier than her being openly furious.
* TraumaButton: Valefor ''in general''. While she beat him with Pyro II, she's still understandably got a ''lot'' of trauma regarding him and is still afraid of him. She notably has a PTSD attack when she realizes Mistletoe Dreamer is on the verge of bringing him BackFromTheDead.
* TrueCompanions: She has this relationship with Eimuria. They're best friends and consider each other as close as sisters.
* {{Tykebomb}}: Like her inspiration, Cinder was this, hatching from an egg which survive the massacre of Pyro's clan by Valefor, who then proceed to raise her in a horrific fashion to be his most capable and dangerous minion. It took a lot of effort by Pyro, others, and her own self to realize that her whelphood was completely unnatural and that her 'father' was a monster that needed to be stopped.
* UnstoppableRage: When she found out her from none other than her [[spoiler:OnlyMostlyDead [[AbusiveParent adoptive father]] Valefor that he [[RapeIsASpecialKindOfEvil conceived]] another [[ChildByRape daughter]] - Cinder II - and actually treated her more kindly than he ever did with Cinder I partly out of spite for his former weapon]], the description noted that to say Cinder I went ''absolutely berserk'' on [[spoiler:Valefor]]'s forces immediately afterwards could be considered ''"putting it mildly"''.
* VictorySex: Implied: after defeating Stormswirl once and for all [[spoiler:and saving their long lost children]], she and Pyro II tell Pyro III to [[spoiler:get to know his siblings]] while they deal with things in private, which Pyro III soon realizes ([[BrainBleach to his dismay]]) what the private things are, in part due to how Cinder I is looking at his father. Justified, as the trauma of their children's fate was why they hadn't had any children since and they want to now that it's Year of the Dragon (and thus mating season for Avalar Dragons) after the catharsis of beating him once and for all [[spoiler:while also saving all their lost children]].
* VillainousBSOD: While Pyro purifying her didn't cause her to instantly turn good here, it ''did'' remove the corruption preventing her from feeling positive emotions. This allowed her to begin feeling empathy for others and ultimately ''guilt'' for the bad things she's done.
* WillfullyWeak: As terrifying and powerful as she is, it's noted she still hasn't ascended to full godhood. Pyro II has implied this is a conscious choice on their part, as they don't intend to ascend until his term as Dragon Lord expires (as becoming a full god means he can't be Dragon Lord).

[[folder:Pyro III, the [WIP] Prince]]
\
Prince Pyro III is one of the children of Dragon Lord Pyro II and Lady Cinder, and [WIP]
----
* BigEgoHiddenDepths: While possessing a gigantic ego, Pyro III does feel [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905679966 doubts and fears]] over whether or not he would measure up to his awesome and legendary parents, implying his pride may partially be [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex a mask to hide insecurities]] he has about himself.
* BrainBleach: Has this reaction to realizing his parents are intending to have VictorySex following the defeat of Stormswirl [[spoiler:and the restoration of their lost children]] (due to wanting to have children now that their trauma is over).
--> '''Pyro III''': But you kicked Stormswirl's butt, Havok's in jail (for now), the Ruin Raiders are dealt with, and-why are you looking at dad like...oh...oh...Oh now I have an image in my head I don't want there.
* BreakTheHaughty: Discussed between his father Pyro II and Princess Twilight/Amicitia in [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905850914 one of their conversations]], with the latter noting the reasons why Pyro III has such a big ego as due to growing up knowing he is the son of two legendary heroic dragon demigods, and also already being a hero in his own right, while Pyro II was [[InterspeciesAdoption raised by humble Dragonfly Breezies]] with no knowledge of his demigod heritage (or [[ChangelingFantasy even knowing he's a Dragon]]). With this in mind, Amicitia noted having Pyro III experiencing this trope may be the only way to take his ego down a peg.
** He suffered [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4906225090 a huge example]] of this when he flunked the Skylanders Academy's graduation exam with his parents in attendance. Being judged by his peers due to them seeing his giant parents tell him off in public just made things worse.
** When he went to the Skyland Hellrealm to convince Cinder II to come back due to a misunderstanding, he [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4907406271 suffered]] a massive CurbStompBattle at the claws of Valefor, in which he only escaped due to Cinder II's aid and escaping to the living world where Valefor as a Wraith cannot tread. Until that beating, Pyro III ''genuinely'' thought he could take Valefor on.
* ChildSoldier: He participated in the defense of Avalar from an invasion by the Storm Empire during the 'Storm King Crisis', and did very well by all accounts. His actions in freeing a group of Dragonfly Breezies being held as 'Trophy Thralls' and [[SlaveLiberation freeing]] most of the serfs and [[BattleThrall vassal-troops]] of the fleet/army his father was fighting gave him the opening to [[IAmNotLeftHanded go]] [[OneWingedAngel all-out]] in the decisive '[[CurbstompBattle Battle]] [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 of Shattered Vale]]'.
* HeightAngst: PlayedForLaughs and Exaggerated - he noted that he had been teased by other young Dragons his age for not measuring up to his parents not only metaphorically but ''literally'', and noted that at least in the latter part [[JerkassHasAPoint they have a point]], considering he's currently around the size of a Pony, whereas his parents in their true forms as Draconic demigods are size of ''small mountains''. He takes solace in the fact that, as Spike the Dragon pointed out, being a demigod himself he would grow into his parents' enormity one day.
--> '''Pyro III:''' Even one of their ''smallest'' scales is bigger than the floors of my ''bedroom'' when they [[SizeShifter go back]] to [[OneWingedAngel being big]].
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Is a hero in his own right and already had adventures of his own.
** During the 'Storm King Crisis', he joined the efforts to fight the Storm Empire when some of their fleets/armies invaded the strategically important Skylands of Avalar. At one point, against his father's orders to stay put, he sneaked into the Storm Empire fleet/army his father is directly fighting to rescue hostages and even instigate a [[SlaveLiberation mass-escape among the slaves]], freeing not only a group of Dragonfly Breezies being held as 'trophy thralls', but most of the serfs and vassal-troops the Storm Empire invasion fleet/army brought with them for support, allowing his father to [[IAmNotLeftHanded cut]] [[TheGlovesComeOff loose]] later on without having to worry about collateral damage.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Despite his father telling him to stay put, he went and participated in the defence of the Skylands of Avalar during the 'Storm King Crisis', and [[KidHero did pretty well]] by all considerations, with his most notable mentioned action being sneaking into the enemy Storm fleet/army his father was fighting directly to free a group of Dragonfly Breezies and [[SlaveLiberation kick-start a mass-escape]] which freed most of the Storm forces' supporting serfs and vassal-troops, allowing his father to later go all-out in a [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/871322352/4905632683 decisive battle]] at Shattered Vale without worry for collateral damage.
* KidHero: Pyro III really is his father's son - he is around the same age as his father and mother was when they saved the world from Valefor, and is noted to have already become a hero himself and had his own adventures. Heck, [[JumpedAtTheCall he even participated in the fight]] to against the Storm Empire's invasion fleets sent to conquer Avalar during 'Storm King Crisis' despite his father telling him to stay put.
* LastOfHisKind: A familial example. Why is he an only child despite [[ElephantInTheRoom his parents living for thousands of years while Avalar dragons lay eggs every 12 years]]? Because ''most of his clutch and many of his older siblings'' have been corrupted by Stormswirl and had to be banished to another dimension by Master Aeon over the years. He himself would later would also be corrupted. Fortunately, he's saved [[spoiler:as are all his siblings]].
* OnlyChildSyndrome: Subverted. While he indeed behaves like an only child in the present, it is implied that he would grow out of it in the future due to the fact that his siblings are still alive.
** It's mentioned in the entry of [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Heroes-and-Villains-33-869177535 Electroplasm, the Krypt Keeper]] - an ally of Pyro II and Lady Cinder in Avalar - that his mother laid a clutch of eggs, meaning Pyro III likely had brothers and sisters. However, their lack of presence in his life implied that they were corrupted by Stormswirl.
** It is also revealed that he indeed had older siblings as well. But they were also corrupted by Stormswirl for several generations back, so far back he wasn't raised with them in any form.
* PintSizedKid: [[GiganticAdultsTinyBabies In comparison with his father and mother]], on account of him being a young Dragon whelpling small as Ponies, while his parents are presently fully-grown Dragon demigods whose 'normal' forms rivals the likes of ex-Dragon Lord Torch and Sergio the Fire Wyrm, and whose ''true'' forms are size of ''small mountains''.
* SemiDivine: Both his father and mother are demigods. That makes him at the very least a normal demigod like his parents are (And that certainly does make him [[SmugSuper feeling very smug about it]]).
* SmugSuper: He's the Demi-God son of Avalar/Skylands' most powerful heroes, and he knows it. He's noted as having a gigantic ego, which unnerves his father.
* WarriorPrince: He is technically a prince on account of being the son of a Dragon Lord (who is also a Dragon demigod, as is his mother), and is already a KidHero who fought evildoers in his own adventures and [[JumpedAtTheCall participated]] in at least [[ChildSoldier one war]].
* WhenYouComingHomeDad: Resents the fact that his parents are often too busy as a Dragon Lord and his consort to spend time with him, which they too regret.

* HappilyAdopted: By Pyro II and Cinder after his reformation.

----
* EleventhHourSuperpower: During the FinalBattle of the Dark Dragon War, she discovers she inherited a Wraith's [[DemonicPossession ability to possess others]]. [[spoiler:During her fight with Valefor in his soul, she ascends to a proper Demi-Goddess, and gains access to Primordial Quintessence Breath.]]
* AdaptationalAngstUpgrade: Skylanders Cynder didn't exactly have it easy, but at least her father seemed to genuinely had ''some'' care for her. In this case, Valefor only acted nice to her out of ''spite'', something she learned the hard way, on top of complications stimming from being half-wraith. She [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/981092770/5087025218 eventually has a complete emotional breakdown]] over it.
* ArchnemesisDad: After joining the Skylanders, this became her relationship with her father Valefor. [[spoiler:She plays a major role in destroying him once and for all.]]
* BadPowersGoodPeople: Being half-wraith, she has various ghostly powers such as possession, LifeDrain, turning into shadows, and creating exploding 'ghosts.' Despite this, she's a perky sweetheart who just wants to be a hero.
* BreakTheCutie: Going through a TraumaCongaLine of learning a large number of {{Awful Truth}}s about her father and herself ends up breaking her, causing her to [[HeroicBSOD have an emotional breakdown.]] She eventually recovers, fortunately.
* ChildByRape: It's implied her mother wasn't exactly Valefor's willing partner.
* CommonalityConnection: Develops a friendship with Prism Wing due to [[SingleSpecimenSpecies both being the only one of their kind]] on Equus (Cinder II being the only wraith hybrid and Prism being a silicon based alien), which comes with special needs most of their friends don't have to worry about.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Cinder II is the daughter of Valefor, an incredibly evil villain, and half wraith. She's also a good person and Skylander.
* DemonicPossession: It turns out that as a half-Wraith, she inherited the ability to possess others. She really doesn't like doing it, due to her good nature, but [[spoiler:it was vital to bringing down Valefor once and for all by allowing her to enter his soul.]]
* {{Expy}}: She's based on Cynder's ''VideoGame/{{Skylanders}}'' incarnation.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent: Her father was a wraith, making her half undead in a manner akin to a {{Dhampyr}}.
* HeinzHybrid: She's half dragon half wraith, as Malefor was one when he conceived her. However, as Valefor is also a Demi-God, this means she's also at least 1/4 god. [[spoiler:Subverted after the final battle with Valefor, as she ascended to a proper Demi-God.]]
* HellHasNewManagement: Rare heroic example: due to being Valefor's daughter, she inherited his Hell Realm after was finally KilledOffForReal. By her own admission, she's not very good at it and lets some of her fellow Undead Skylanders handle it mostly.
* HeroicBSOD: After [[TraumaCongaLine being subjected to a number of traumatic truths]] about her father and herself, she eventually [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/981092770/5087025218 has an emotional breakdown]]. It's so bad that she nearly starves herself to death refusing to use her LifeDrain and tries to rip out her metal blades in grief. She fortunately breaks out of it in time to take part in the FinalBattle with him.
--> '''Cinder II''': [Broken Sobbing] I don't even know anything anymore...I just don't want to be me anymore...
* HybridMonster: She's half-dragon/half-wraith. It's noted she's the sole known hybrid of her type in existence, and no one really knows ''how'' Valefor managed to sire one.
* LifeDrain:
** As a wraith hybrid, she has the ability to drain the life force of others with her touch. Unfortunately, she had this since she was in her mother's womb, and by the time her egg was laid, it directly resulted in her mother's death. [[HeroicBSOD She doesn't take finding this out well]]. She even refuses to use it for a time, which is dangerous to her wellbeing, as she needs it to live.
** This becomes a problem when the Darkness [[DePower takes away her powers]], as she ''can't'' feed and is in danger of starving to death.
* LikeFatherUnlikeSon: She's Valefor's biological daughter, but she's genuinely heroic, unlike her sociopathic, [[OmnicidalManiac omnicidal]] father.
* SemiDivine: Her father Valefor is a demi-god himself. However, unless her mother was one too, she's only 1/4 god. [[spoiler:While fighting Valefor in his soul, she ascends to a proper Demi-God.]]
* ShockAndAwe: One of her powers is spectral lightning as a BreathWeapon.
* SingleSpecimenSpecies: She's a dragon/wraith hybrid, something no one is even sure how Valefor ''accomplished'', as wraiths normally are physically incapable of mating with mortals, let alone having offspring. Thus she may well be the ''only'' wraith hybrid on the planet.
* ToHellAndBack: She's actually casually capable of just...going to the local Hell Realm and coming back without any consequences because she's the former princess and now ruler of it.
* TraumaCongaLine: She learns that her father was completely evil, his kindly façade while raising her was a lie, her mother was raped to concieve her, her 'organic metal' blades were artificial, her entire existence was an act of spite towards Cinder I, and finally her LifeDrain killed her mother while being born, all in a short period of time. [[BreakTheCutie She understandably doesn't handle this well.]]
* WizardNeedsFoodBadly: As a half-wraith, she needs to drain life energy every so often to feed herself. Her friends willingly allow her to consume a small, harmless amount of theirs every so often. This fact effectively puts her on a time limit when the Darkness takes her powers away, as she's at risk of starving to death if she doesn't get them back in time.

* AdaptationalBadass: She's based off the ''Fanfic/TheLegendOfSpyroANewDawn'' version of Ember, but has Dragon Lord's Regelia on top of that and is a fully grown FIM version of a dragon, and thus a {{Kaiju}}.
* AscendedFanboy: She initially started off as a huge fan of Pyro II and Cinder I, but eventually takes up responsibility as an Avalar Dragon Lord.
* CommonalityConnection: She hits it off with Rarity thanks to their love of fashion and typical love of girly things.
* DisappearedDad: When her parents found out about the attack on the temple, her father Blaze went to fight in the Dark Dragon War and was declared MIA.
* DivineRightOfKings: When there was a need to fill in a second vacant Avalar Dragon Lord seat with no successor candidates, she chose to train for it as her birthright due to being in the same generation as Pyro II and Cinder I, much to the anger of the former regent who thinks she is ill-suited for the position.
* {{Expy}}: She's this to [[VideoGame/SpyroAHerosTail Ember]], specifically to the version of her from Godzillawolf's previous story ''Fanfic/TheLegendOfSpyroANewDawn''.

* GirlyBruiser: A cute, pink dragoness with a child-like personality...who is a very powerful Dragon Lord and able to keep up with two Demi-Gods.
* HonoraryUncle: She's the godmother of nearly all of Pyro II and Cinder I's children, due to being their closest ally outside their family and Cinder II's best friend.
* NoSocialSkills: Justified. She spent ''24'' years in the wilderness in hiding with just her mother by the time she found out that Valefor is long gone. This results in many social cues flying over her head.
* NumberTwo: She's essentially this for Pyro II and Cinder I, being their most loyal ally they count on for the most important tasks they wouldn't trust to anyone else outside their family.
* OfficialCouple: She eventually marries Pyrus.
* {{Squee}}: She squeed the first time she met Pyro II and Cinder I.
* TechnicolorFire: Eimuria gains the ability to breath blue fire after being accidentally granted Phoenix powers. It's much more powerful than her normal fire, as one blast reduced a [[EliteMooks Warrior Gargoyle]] to ashes, but it takes a lot of energy to use. This is of course referencing that blue fire is hotter than red.
* TrueCompanions: She and Cinder I have this relationship, being best friends as close as sisters.

* AlienBlood: Due to her biology using liquid methane instead of water, she has yellow blood. It's also ''extremely'' cold, around -161.6°C.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: During the Stormswirl Crisis, her longtime friend Stone Splitter was dragons [[TheCorrupter who had their light stolen by Stormswirl, the Light Drinker]] and turned evil. It's noted her biology is so vastly different from anything on Equus that as a result she literally can't survive on Equus without outside help. For example, she drinks liquid methane instead of water, she has [[AlienBlood yellow blood]], and while her body is very thermally insulated, her internal body temperature is around -161.6°C.
* CameFromTheSky: She landed in the Avalar Skylands in a geode meteorite. It's presently unknown if it was her egg or some kind of extremely alien space pod.
* CantHaveSexEver: As pointed [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/869479644/4906585787 out by her writer]], due to both being a silicon-based lifeform who might not even mate in the same way as life on Equus to begin with, her internal body temp, for the liquid methane she drinks to survive to remain liquid, would need to be so cold (around -161.6°C) she'd run the risk of freezing anyone she did the deed with to death or their heat killing ''her''. Thus there's next to nothing on Equus she's physically capable of safely having sex with. She can still have ''children'' however, as her species are capable of parthenogenesis in absence of a suitable mate.
* CommonalityConnection: She develops a friendship with Cinder II due to both being the only ones of their respective species on Equus.
* GoldenSuperMode: In reference to two of her variants in the games, absorbing enough light causes her blue coloration to turn gold and her purple to turn green, powering her up and giving her an aura that buffs her allies.
* InnocentAliens: She's an alien dragon who fell from the sky, but other than being a bit vain, she wants to be a hero.
* LimitBreak: Her GoldenSuperMode can only be used if she absorbs enough energy. Notably, she's the only Beyonder whose transformation requires specific circumstances to be met, but also the only one whose transformation is a power up rather than required to properly use their powers.
* LiteralMetaphor: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/869177535/4907073438 A supervillain]] calls either her or Pyro III a 'cold blooded wretch'. Pyro III points out dragons ''are'' coldblooded, with Prism pointing out she's ''literally'' cold blooded, as her blood is -161.6°C.
* MultipleChoicePast: No one inuniverse, including her, knows exactly how or why she ended up in space and landed on Equus. Hypotheses include it simply being how her species reproduces, her egg/pod having been on a destroyed spaceship and surviving, or being the LastOfHerKind sent into space from a doomed world to preserve their species.
* NoSell: As she is a silicon based life form, poisons and toxins don't work on her.
* ProudBeauty: She's extremely beautiful and aware of that, making her rather vain. She used to be vain to an extreme, but eventually grew out of it.
* SiliconBasedLife: She's a silicon-based alien lifeform. However, certain issues with this were addressed: she explicitly uses silicone compounds rather than pure silicon (which would be much more stable and biologically possible). The issue with their respiration's biproduct being sand is also addressed: that's what her body makes her crystal shards from.
* SquishyWizard: Compared to other dragons, being made of silicon makes her more vulnerable to blunt attacks than most dragons.
* TrulySingleParent: She's too young to do so yet, but analysis of her showed her species are capable of parthenogenesis if no suitable male is present, like some real-life reptiles. Which will most likely be the case, given she's so alien it's unlikely she can properly mate with anything on Equus.

* AllOfTheOtherReindeer: She got this from both species she was born into.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: She was corrupted by Stormswirl to attack the Skylanders.
* BreakTheBadass: Being corrupted by Stormswirl, resulting in her fighting her students with intent to kill and actually killing Sunspot (who thankfully has Phoenix biology and was able to resurrect eventually), caused her to have an emotional breakdown and need to spend several months on leave to get psychological help.

* ShockAndAwe: Maelstrom's secondary attack is a "tempest cloud" that electrocutes nearby enemies.
* WingedUnicorn: Maelstrom is a half dragon, half unicorn, but for some reason has feathered wings instead of dragon ones, giving her the look of one of these.

Buzz (his entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Heroes-and-Villains-33-869177535 here]]) is a Water Dragon and Skylander cadet who just happened to have been raised by giant electric eels.
----
* ChildProdigy: Buzz was very intelligent from a young age, enough to create hid crude electric harness and figure out how to use it despite having been raised by electric eels.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: Zap is fairly well-adjusted, but Buzz has serious issues stemming from being raised by electric eels. For one, he can only speak broken ponish and has to speak during sign language (though he ''is'' fluent and good with it).
* MakingASplash: He's a Water Dragon, and thus capable of generating and manipulating water. He often uses this in conjunction with his electric harness.
* OfficialCouple: He's dating his fellow Skylander Sonar.
* OneHeroHoldTheWeaksauce: Water Dragons are normally vulnerable to electricity as a major weakness. Due to growing up surrounded by electric eels, he's highly resistant instead and even able to channel and use it to his advantage.
* PokemonSpeak: {{Justified}}: when she first met him, all Buzz could say is 'Buzz' and didn't have an actual name, so Sonar started calling him Buzz. He can speak other things now, but not very well.
* RaisedByWolves: He was raised by electric eels. Unlike canon, it this is {{Deconstructed}}, as it left him with serious social and communication issues, requiring a ''lot'' of work to get him re-civilized. The Electric Eels were relocated to an aquarium in his dorm room, and he still speaks and communicates with them as family.
* ShockAndAwe: He created a harness that allows him to channel and use electricity to emulate his giant electric eel family. This is notable, as Water Dragons are normally [[ElementalRockPaperScissors vulnerable to electricity]], but his raising caused him to become highly resistant and able to use it to his advantage.
* UsefulNotes/SignedLanguage: Learning to speak ponish is rather difficult for him, so he learned sign language and is significantly better at it.
* WildChild: He was raised by giant, somewhat more intelligent electric eels, and as a result acted like one when Sonar found him. He couldn't speak, only mimic his adopted family's electrical crackling. Fortunately, Aeon was smart enough to handle the situation ''very'' carefully rather than simply plucking him from the wild and dropping him in civilization, and re-civilized him slowly enough that it didn't harm him. This was helped by the fact he was very intelligent naturally.
* YouNoTakeCandle: His common is very broken and stilted most of the time, due to having not learned to speak until his late teens and the language he ''did'' know ('giant electric eel') not matching up very well. He's much more articulate with sign language, as it's more comparable to how electric eels speak to each other.

Ember ''immediately'' pulls out ''Bolverk Gram'' and slashes across her entire face, leaving a lifelong scar.]]
* VillainForgotToLevelGrind: She's a fully grown dragon and leads a much larger flight than Ember has. However, she was also one of the dragons who had learned nothing from recent events and thus still relied on her and her flight's sheer power over everything. Unfortunately, Ember and Equestria's dragons were willing to work together with the Principalities and meet her with a united front, and thus they didn't even make it ashore.
* VillainRespect: At the end of her incursion, she grudgingly respects the upstart 'Pony-loving' Lord Ember, having been soundly defeated by her, and is last heard starting to learn things herself...
[[/folder]]

!!Cobbletown Dragonflight
Hailing from the cosmopolitan kingdom of Cobbletown, the Cobbletown Dragonflight is unusual in that due to Cobbletown's history, they are not only willing peacefully coexist with 'Tinies', but are more than happy to help them out of the goodness of their heart (with material profit being a happy incidental bonus). This had led to other Dragonflights ostracizing them for being 'Fake Dragons' due to their refusal to indulge in their kind's stereotypical barbarically-violent greedy natures, but they had largely ignored them, with the approval and backing of more benevolent and heroic Dragonflights as well as Draconic deities.
----
[[folder:General]]
* DelightfulDragon: The Cobbletown Dragonflight generally consists of benevolent and good-natured mortal Dragons who decided to follow their [[DeityOfHumanOrigin Ascendant]] peers' example and coexist with 'Tinies' peacefully. Naturally, their beliefs in friendship, altruism, and coexistence puts them at odds with more bigoted, traditionalist, and xenophobic Dragons who look down on them for being 'fake', an issue that would come to its head during the 'Draconic Reformation'.
* KarmicJackpot: Unlike most Dragonflights, who take cruel pleasure in burning and pillaging 'Tinies' out of greed and pride, the Cobbletown Dragonflight only seeks to peacefully coexist with 'Tinies', with monetary gain being a happy incidental bonus. This not only nets them lots of both Dragon and non-Dragon allies, but also puts them on the winning side of the 'Draconic Reformation' since they want nothing to do with their kind's bigotry.
* NoTrueScotsman: Many Dragons see the Cobbletown Dragonflight as 'fake', both for its members' refusal to raze and pillage non-Dragon 'Tiny' civilizations, and their willingness to coexist with 'Tiny' races peacefully. These sentiments are largely ignored by the Cobbletown Dragons themselves, who have long freed themselves of their people's bigotry, though it's becoming an increasing issue as the 'Draconic Reformation' era intensified and more wicked/traditionalist Dragons try to conquer their flight and pillage Cobbletown out of greed and spite.
* TallPoppySyndrome: The Dragonflight is on the receiving end of much envy from other Dragons over their ability to amass as much if not even greater wealth for their hoards than they do, due to their willingness to help and work with the 'Tinies' for mutual benefit giving them more avenues to profit than good old-fashioned Draconic rampages and ravagery. This led to other Dragons often trying to raze and plunder Cobbletown, as much out of spite as it is out of greed.

[[folder:General]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Dragon Lord Infernius, the Dominating Fire]]
First mentioned in a Drabble [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/857612387/4882892030 here]], Infernius is a vicious and ambitious Dragon Lord who believed Dragons had spent too much time in isolation and stagnation and let the other races grow too much. To avert this, Infernius would seek to re-forge Dragonkind into a much more united and militarized race, becoming threat to Dragon Lord Ember and her dream with his rival vision for Dragonkind's future.
----
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: He views Ember's attempts at making peace with other races as her being "infected" by "lesser ponies".
* ANaziByAnyOtherName: His Infernus Dominion is officially classified as an Autorist kingdom, and his worldview basically makes him and his flight Autorists among Dragons.
* TheRightOfASuperiorSpecies: Says as much in his speech, believing dragons have the inherent right to rule over all other species.
* WeHaveBecomeComplacent: Realises that dragons have become far too reliant on their rep to live up to it and sees to strengthen his race so they aren't defeated by "lesser races".
* VirtueIsWeakness: Despite agreeing with Ember in that Dragonkind need to advance, Infernius is disappointed and disgusted by Ember's dream of coexisting with other non-Dragon races in 'Harmony' and offering and accepting 'Forgiveness' for past wrongs between Dragons and non-Dragons, which is anathema to his views that Dragons should and must dominate non-Dragons and led him to believe she had been tainted by Equestrian Ponykind.

[[folder:Dragon Lord Urania]]
First appearing in a [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/930826834/5026379736 drabble]], Urania is an unscrupulous, avaricious and villainous but also clever, pragmatic and forward-thinking Dragon Lord (and corporate magnate) hailing from Dragon Lands near the Tauren Peninsula who knows the time for change is coming for Dragonkind and wishes to have a controlling interest in where it goes for her own benefit. Because of this, she had thrown her lot with Dragon Lord Ember in a secret alliance agreement, becoming one of her earliest major supporters among Dragon Lords for Ember's ideals and plans for the future of Dragonkind, even while she goes about satiating her own villainous wants and ambitions with other unrelated schemes and plans.
----
* AmbitionIsEvil: Wants a huge stake in the future of Dragonkind, both because she sees no future in the old ways of the Dragons and sees Ember's golden dream as the way forward for her to survive the coming upheavals and prosper in the new Draconic order to follow.
* AffablyEvil: On one claw, she seem to genuinely respect Ember, wants to work with her and bring Dragonkind to a new future out of rational self-interest. On the other claw, she's a villainous character who exploited whole lands out of greed and cannibalizes even her own kin out of gluttony.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Downplayed, in that she openly admits to being villainous by many beings' standards, but is still friendly to heroic figures and willing to work with them so long as it benefits her and they don't step on each others' tails.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: When Ember noted her unscrupulous, villainous nature, Urania pointed out that for Ember's ambitions to succeed, she would have to be pragmatic when needed to and cannot afford to turn down aid over moral qualms. [[VillainHasAPoint Ember would concede she has a point]].
--> '''Urania:''' Are you really going to turn me down out of some [[SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids moralizing sentiment]] you picked up from your Pony friends?
* AtLeastIAdmitIt: Openly admits her villainous conduct to Ember in their secret meeting. She points out though that many of her actions [[BlueAndOrangeMorality are considered acceptable]] among Dragons, so at least by their own cultural standards she is not a villain, or particularly villainous.
* BadBoss: She doesn't hesitate to get rid of her own employees and underlings in her business and her Dragonflight for perceived slights and failures. ''[[SapientEatSapient By]] [[IAmAHumanitarian eating]] [[VillainousGlutton them]]''.
* BigBad: For other heroic beings and factions, [[VillainOfAnotherStory though it's only implied so far]]. She used her capacity as a CorruptCorporateExecutive and an EvilOverlord to set up a '[[NebulousEvilOrganisation board of investors]]' consisting of fellow powerful [[EvilOverlord overlords and villains]], which invests in the ventures of other evil overlords and villains for more profit as well as help distract and keep other heroic champions and adventurers off their collective backs. [[spoiler:Her later rise to power as one of the most dangerous Draconic villains on Equus and eventually beyond was apparently facilitated with the patronage and support of even greater beings and forces of evil such as Temnobog, Blackthorn, Iniquitous, the Tyrannos Pantheon and a certain dark goddess named Ishtarmat]].
* BigEater: Given, since she's a Dragon, and admits to also being a Foodie, although her gluttony takes this [[VillainousGlutton in]] [[SapientEatSapient rather]] [[IAmAHumanitarian unsettling]] [[MonstrousCannibalism directions]].
* ControlFreak: While she doesn't care how she gets what she wants, she wants it to be done in an orderly and efficient manner. In this regard her evil is decidedly that of a 'Lawful Evil' variety.
* CardCarryingVillain: Possibly, if her being the head of a '[[NebulousEvilOrganisation Evil Board of Villains]]' is taken literally, although she's probably nicknaming it in a sarcastic capacity.
* CorruptCorporateExecutive: Is a business magnate and believes herself to be one of if not THE first business-dragon in the Fourth Age. She also casually admits that her company and Dragonflight exploits the heck out of everything and everywhere they control. She's wealthy enough to become head of a 'board of investors' with other villains investing in the ventures of other villains and overlords.
* CorporateDragon: Is a female Dragon Lord who also happen to be a CorruptCorporateExecutive, and is stated to be among the first in the Fourth Age.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Implied from what little we know of her so far. She ate members of her own family at one point and is jaded by the old ways of Dragonkind after failing miserably trying to live up to them before she became a CorruptCorporateExecutive and a Dragon Lord.
* DramaticIrony: Dragon Lord Urania's alliance with Dragon Lord Ember was held a secret and was not brought to light until well after Dragon Lord Ember's rise to power. While Urania's forces and involvement in some of Dragon Lord Ember's struggles were spotted and speculated upon, no one seriously considered the possibility that they are working together behind the scenes, and such a suggestion is largely disregarded whenever brought up, best exemplified in the '[[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/870667629/4905498906 Battle of Spire Cliffs]]' drabble, where many wondered if Ember hired mercenaries from Urania's flight to bolster her and her allies' numbers, while rumours suggesting that the unscrupulous business-dragoness may have secretly aided Ember further by negotiating a deal for heavy weapons from a Mountain Dog Underhold was 'near-completely dismissed'.
* EnemyMine: Part of the reason the openly villainous Dragon Lord Urania teamed up with the more heroic and honourable Dragon Lord Ember: They have mutual enemies and opposition to their ambitions from the rest of the '[[EvilReactionary Old Guard]]' among Dragon Lords and Dragonkind who looked down on them for not acting like 'True' Dragons. This is kept in secret so to keep their mutual claws clean from associating with each other, but their mutual aid and advice proved instrumental to each others' respective rise to power.
* EvilOverlord: Can be considered one among Dragon Lords, given her unscrupulous and villainous disposition, although she does note some of the villainous things she does are actually [[BlueAndOrangeMorality considered normal]] and common among Dragons.
* EvilVirtues: While unscrupulous, avaricious, gluttonous and ambitious in nature, she's also stated and shown to be strong-willed, tough, clever, long-sighted and pragmatic.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[Characters/OKKOLetsBeHeroesOtherVillains Cosma]] from ''[[WesternAnimation/OKKOLetsBeHeroes OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes]]''
* {{Foil}}:
** To Dragon Lord Ember. Both are forward-thinking, clever, strong-willed and ambitious young Dragon Lords who wishes to bring Dragonkind into the future with new ways and new ideas. But while Ember is a benevolent visionary who's doing this for the good of all Dragonkind, Urania is mostly in it for her own benefits and ends (and not being dragged down with old ways that she knows are doomed).
** To Ivory Towers. Both are respectively a CorruptCorporateExecutive and an EvilOverlord where they lorded over. Both are selfish, ambitious and ruthless villains molded by past tragedies and setbacks into the terrible beings they are today. Both also turned on their own families and [[BadBoss sacrificed/punished their employees for failure]]. However, Urania is more [[PragmaticVillainy pragmatic]] and AffablyEvil than Ivory Towers, willing to even work with the good guys and ''not'' betray them impulsively for long-term profit. Ivory Towers' family were completely innocent and her sacrifice of them to summon Demons for power is considered an unforgivable crime, whereas Urania, at least by her own insistence, had some sort of excuse in that her own family were terrible and that they were 'asking for it' when she ate them. Ivory Towers' ambition completely revolves around her own benefit, at the expense of everyone else, while Urania had somewhat grander ambitions for Dragonkind, even if it is still rooted in her own self-benefit. Ivory Towers was eventually overthrown, in part due to her self-destructive greed, while Urania held onto her seat and would continue to rise to power, in spite of her own innate greed.
* GoodNeedsEvil: Her proposition to Ember carries a vibe of this. She noted that Ember's career is still quite nascent and she would need all the help she can get, meaning that she cannot afford to turn down support from the likes of Urania, who is implied to have substantial amount of resources and influence. Ember would concede to this point, and Urania promises their secret alliance would be like that of Temnobog and Belyolen.
* GoodOldWays: Subverted hard. Urania looks down upon the old, traditional and barbaric ways of 'True' Dragons and sees them as outdated. She had tried doing those in the past and failing miserably to get ahead - but when she turned to new 'civilized' ways of the non-Dragon races (by becoming a CorruptCorporateExecutive), she managed to acquire wealth and power beyond her wildest dreams. This is the reason why [[VillainRespect she apparently respected]] Dragon Lord Ember for trying to move Dragonkind away from them, seeing her as 'the future' of Dragonkind and is even willing to support Ember's ambition so that it would benefit her own.
* {{Greed}}: A lot of villainous things she commits is mostly for the sake of getting more wealth, as expected of a Dragon. What is notable in her case is that unlike her peers, who prefers the 'GoodOldWays' of pillaging and plundering other lands and kingdoms or [[NoHonorAmongThieves from each other]], she's differently unscrupulous and more unconventional in her methods, willing to do so by using the 'civilized' ways of non-Dragon races by being a CorruptCorporateExecutive.
* TheHedonist: She openly admits that her main interests are eating and getting money and allies with Ember because it is her best chance to do both.
* HiredGuns: Suggested to provide these, as some Dragons spotted among the forces aligned with the Equestrian Dragonflight during the '[[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/870667629/4905498906 Battle of Spire Cliffs]]' are noted to appear more like mercenaries than warriors, leading to speculation that Ember had hired some of her dragons to briefly bolster her and her allies further. The possibility that it may also be because Urania is actually fully allied in secret with Ember and the Equestrian Dragonflight [[DramaticIrony are near-completely dismissed]].
* IAmAHumanitarian: Doesn't see anything wrong with eating her own kind, [[BlueAndOrangeMorality which isn't exactly considered abnormal]] [[BigEater among Dragonkind]]. What is notable though she extends this to [[MonstrousCannibalism her own family and members of the Dragonflight]] she lords over, though she insisted those she ate [[AssholeVictim had it coming]].
* IGaveMyWord: Implied. She promised she would make her alliance with Ember worthwhile from her end (so long as she benefits), and from the description it's reflected that Urania's aid did proved very important and beneficial to Ember's rise to power and the achievement of her ambitions. Helps that Dragon Lord Ember from her conversations with Urania did showed that she intends to be very careful with what allies she makes and how she utilize them, meaning that Ember did made sure that Urania have no reason to break her word.
* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Actively villainous and [[AtLeastIAdmitIt openly admits it to Ember]], but points out she still comes off as better than the barbaric despoilers of civilizations many among Dragonkind embrace and revel in. Also, she seem genuine in her respect and support for Dragon Lord Ember and would keep to her word and agreements with Ember so long as her ambitions supports her own.
* MonstrousCannibalism: Like many villainous beings in the Codexverse with a gluttonous impulse have a habit of doing. She openly admitted to eating most of her family as well as members of her own flight, though it's downplayed owing to her nature as Dragons practice cannibalism as well, and if her own words are to be believed, many of them '[[AssholeVictim were asking]] [[PayEvilUntoEvil for it]]'.
* NebulousEvilOrganisation: Heads a 'board of investors' type, even nicknaming it her '[[CardCarryingVillain Evil Board of Villains]]', though probably in a sarcastic capacity.
* NecessarilyEvil: She pointed out to Ember in her introductory Drabble that she cannot afford to turn down any help in the face of the odds she and like-minded Dragons face to reform Dragonkind as the trials and tribulations of the 'Draconic Reformation' unfold. That, and she's not that particularly evil by Dragonkind's BlueAndOrangeMorality.
* NotSoDifferentRemark: When Ember raises the fact that she is not known for being a paragon of virtue, she admits she's right, but proceeds to point out a lot of Dragons do what she does as well, considers them ''[[BlueAndOrangeMorality normal]]'' and [[BlueAndOrangeMorality even respectable]]. And compared to those 'traditionalists' who actively fly around burning and pillaging kingdoms for plunder [[ForTheEvulz and kicks]], [[ALighterShadeOfBlack she still comes off as a saint]]. Which may be why not many among Dragonkind is actively opposing her, beyond criticizing her ways as 'Un-Dragonlike'.
* PragmaticVillainy: She doesn't care how she gets what she wants, so long as it gets her what she wants with as little wildness and fuss as possible, which was the reason she turned away from the 'GoodOldWays' of 'True Dragons' and became a CorruptCorporateExecutive. Also the reason why she threw her lot with Dragon Lord Ember, as she knows Ember and her ways the future of Dragonkind and not only do not want to get in her way, but also want a stake in it [[AmbitionIsEvil to put herself into a powerful, influential position in the new Draconic order to come]], willing to support the more heroic and honourable Ember so long as it benefits her.
* RepressiveButEfficient: Implied, as she mentioned how she doesn't care about how it's done to get what she wants so long as it's done in an orderly and efficient manner.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Is literally mentioned in one Drabble so far, but the addendum noted that her power, wealth, influence, advice and support proved to be quite instrumental to Dragon Lord Ember's later rise to power among Dragonkind.
* TokenEvilTeammate: Explicitly noted to have become one among Dragon Lord Ember's allies, albeit this was done in secret. Her wealth, power, influence and assistance apparently went a long way in facilitating Ember's rise to power among Dragonkind, too.
* VillainHasAPoint: Believing Ember is squeamish about making an alliance with a villainous drakina like her, Urania pointed out that as the likes of Dragon Lord Menhit demonstrated, Ember's progressive ideals have a lot of [[EvilReactionary near-systemic opposition]] among the Dragons and that she would need all the help she can get, including those from the likes of Urania, for the reforms she wished to implement to have any chance of succeeding. [[{{Touche}} Ember concedes she has a point]], but noted she had other reasons behind her hesitation.
* VillainousGlutton: Her other notable vice/sin besides Greed. She loves trying new delicacies, and had casually admitted to eating a lot of people for one reason or another, though it's somewhat justified by the fact being a [[SapientEatSapient sapient-eating]] BigEater is a given as a Dragon.
* VillainOfAnotherStory: Urania is openly villainous, serving as the BigBad of other heroes and villains, but none of it is shown thus far.
* VillainRespect: Seems to legitimately respect Ember for being one of the few 'clever' Dragons around who can see where the winds of change are blowing and are even actively trying to facilitate it. Of course, owing to her villainous disposition, [[AmbiguouslyEvil she could just as well be trying to get on Ember's good side]] and [[ManipulativeBastard ride on her contrails for her own rise to power]].
* YouHaveFailedMe: As a reminder that she is a villain despite being AffablyEvil and later a TokenEvilTeammate among Dragon Lord Ember's allies, she does not tolerate failures or slights from her employees and Dragonflight and [[MonstrousCannibalism would readily]] [[IAmAHumanitarian add them]] [[BigEater to her appetite]] or sacrifice them for her own gain.

[[folder:General]]

* {{Expy}}: While not one to one, they're collectively based off the [[WebVideo/CriticalRoleCampaignOne Chroma Conclave]], being four powerful, Ancient Dragons united in conquest.
* {{Kaiju}}: All four of them are at least Ancient tier dragons, and thus kaiju in their own right. Vesuvius takes this a step further by being a Great Wyrm.

Vesuvius (introduced in [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/904477912/5034573675 this drabble]]) is a Great Wyrm and leader of the Claws of Conquest.

----

* {{Expy}}: He's based on Thordak, being a massive, powerful Red Dragon.
* LargeAndInCharge: He's a Great Wyrm, making him the largest and strongest of the four by a huge margin.

Tambora (introduced in [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/909949548/5034683350 this drabble]]) a an Ancient Green Dragon and one of the Claws of Conquest.

----

* {{Expy}}: She's based on Raishan, being an ancient, powerful, and intelligent Green Dragon.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Tambora discovered the lost dragon art of shapeshifting into smaller, nondragon form that the brutes of their species attempted to stamp out. She uses it to good effect by shapeshifting into tiny form to sneak into places to either spy or smuggle her gigantic, true Ancient Green Dragon form into places it otherwise could not get.

!Free Dragons
Similar to the Changelings of the Autumn Court, Free Dragons are collectively Dragons who do live under or outright reject the Dragon Lord system for one reason or another, and thus live free and independent from their influence. They range from exiles and renegades to immigrants and rebels, and can come from individualistic "lone wolves" to whole communities and nations in size, like Dragontown in Fillydelphia and Cobbletown in Terra Equus.
----
[[folder:General]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: They generally get along much better with non-Dragons, but are more than capable of defending themselves from the likes of Gaelist anti-Dragon fanatics of Talon Bais as well as their own kind from the traditional Dragonflights.
* DefectorFromDecadence: Many Free Dragons do not approve of the toxic culture and ways of their fellow Dragonflight dragons and had opted out as an act of rebellion.

* BequeathedPower: [[spoiler:Liebe's dying act of transferring his entire magic core to her grants her supercharged Griffon magic and gives her the edge needed to defeat General Getriebe.]]
* GroinAttack: PlayedForDrama: during her and Liebe's fight with Letzte Stunde, she takes crushing, electrified tail whip to the groin from the mecha hard enough to lift her off the ground. The blow leaves her writhing in agony, which would've allowed Getriebe to land the killing blow on her
* MakeThemRot: As a Topax Dragon, she possesses the elemental power of decay.
* ShockAndAwe: [[spoiler:Liebe giving her his entire magic core as he dies alters her so she can utilize supercharged Griffon weather magic, mostly lightning due to that being what Liebe was talented in.]]

!The Protodragons
Dragonkind's {{Psycho Prototype}}s created in ancient times from Tiamat as her first attempt to create her own species, led by Glaurung, the Ashen Devastation and his brother Ancalagon, the Primal Inferno. They would prove completely uncontrollable and threaten to destroy all life on Equus, forcing Tiamat to team up with Bahamut and other gods defeat them, destroying most of them and sealing their divine progenitors away. Unfortunately, at the end of the Draconic Reformations, they were finally unleashed.
----

[[folder:General]]
* AncientEvil: Glaurung and Ancalagon are both Primeval deities, and thus millions of years old and predating known history by aeons.
* DraconicAbomination: Unlike their 'successor' species, Glaurung and Ancalagon are Tiamat's PQ cast and molded into form, and thus are closer to eldritch horrors shaped like dragons than flesh and blood creatures. To a lesser degree this applies to their spawn.
* TheDreaded: The Heralds of Extinction and the Protodragons are so feared that even Tiamat is terrified of her creations, and Emperor Blackthorn considers them such a threat he willingly accepts an EnemyMine with Tiamat and Bahamut to stop them when they're unearthed.
* DugTooDeep: A desperate Dragon Lord and his flight dug deep into Draconia's surface looking for an edge, as the old guard of dragons were losing ground to the new ones. In doing so, they accidentally set the Heralds of Extinction and their spawn free.
* FlawedPrototype: As her first go at creating a species, the Protodragons aren't as refined as Tiamat's later creations. In particular, they lack a proper 'cooling system' for their fire breath and thus have to manually cool down, typically by dousing themselves in water.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: The Heralds of Extinction and their spawn are capable of destroying all life on Equus if not stopped. To highlight just ''how powerful'' they are: [[https://www.deviantart.com/comments/1/869479644/4961431642 two of their Avatars and a horde of Protodragons]] attacked ''Malregnar'' and managed to force them to mobilize their ''full force'' into repelling the invasion. Vicearch Iniquitous had to ''[[GodzillaThreshold personally]]'' intervene, unleashing her pet and familiar (A ''mountain-sized BeastOfTheApocalypse'' in their true form and glory) to take on the Heralds' avatars, and it took ''days'' of battle which levelled a province and casting a magical WMD spell capable of destroying an entire kingdom as a CoupDeGrace to finally win.
* PsychoPrototype: They're Tiamat's first attempt at creating her own species. Unfortunately, as she lacked Bahamut's balance and was so inexperienced, they ended up being raging psychopaths who would've destroyed all life on Equus if not stopped.
* SealedEvilInACan: After their Protodragon spawn were destroyed, Glaurung and Ancalagon were sealed deep under Draconia for eons. Unfortunately, a desperate Dragon Lord and his Flight [[DugTooDeep accidentally unearth them]] at the end of the Draconic Reformations.
* SnowballingThreat: The protodragons were a swarm of destructive, relentlessly aggressive monsters that rampaged through the world, breeding in ever-greater numbers and rendering everything they came across into ash and rubble. By the time that Tiamat and Bahamut brought them to battle, the progeny of the original pair covered the skies and had to be entirely exterminated to prevent a repeat crisis.
* SuperPrototype: As a whole, Protodragons are much stronger than their successor species, due to Tiamat having made them with that explicitly in mind. The Heralds of Extinction are comparable to Tiamat and Bahamut in power. Unfortunately for everyone, they're also super destructive, instinct driven beasts that could destroy all life on Equus if they're allowed to thrive.

Glaurung (his entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-55-861846716 here]]) is the ancient Ryujin of Greed, Domination, and Devastation, and was part of Tiamat's failed first attempts to create the Dragon race.
----
* AncientEvil: The first dragon created by Tiamat ''period'', and one of the most monstrous and evil.
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He's a Ryujin god who embodies Greed, Domination, and Devastation.
* {{Expy}}: Of Glaurung, the Father of Dragons from J.R.R. Tolkein's ''Literature/TheSilmarillion'', who was a creation of Morgoth. They even share the same names.
* OmnicidalManiac: As Glaurung is Dragonkind's pure unfiltered greed and desire for domination incarnate, his only concern are those things and he's completely willing to wipe out all life on Equus to get it.
* PsychoPrototype: He was Tiamat's first attempt at creating dragons, but due to lacking Bahamut's balance, Glaurung is pure, unfiltered greed and desire for domination. As a result, he and his brethren nearly destroyed the world and had to be sealed away to save it.
* SuperPrototype: Tiamat made him with power in mind, and thus he and his brother are in the same tier of power as she is and the Protodragons nearly wiped out all life on Equus.
* VillainousIncest: He and Ancalagon, despite being siblings, bred after Ancalagon shifted his sex to female in order to produce the protodragon species.

Ancalagon (his entry [[https://www.deviantart.com/brutalityinc/art/Codex-Equestria-Deities-and-Divines-Part-64-897831515 here]]) is Tiamat's second born creation and a protodragon who nearly wiped out all life on Equus alongside his brother and their spawn.
----
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: He's a Ryujin god who embodies Pride, Instinct, and Power.
* DumbMuscle: While exceptionally strong and resilient, Ancalagon is a primal, instinct-driven brute barely above animal intellect.
* {{Hermaphrodite}}: Ancalagon is a sequential hermaphrodite, capable of changing his physical sex in response to environmental conditions. This is how the protodragon race got started -- since he and Glaurung were both male, Ancalagon became female and they bred to produce the rest of the species.
* {{Pride}}: Ancalagon is personification of draconic arrogance, superiority and self-obsession. He gains literal strength from his sense of pride, can invoke this emotion in others to render them incautious and prone to mistakes, and flies into terrible rages when he feels that his superiority is called into question.
* VillainousIncest: He and Glaurung, despite being siblings, bred after Ancalagon shifted his sex to female in order to produce the protodragon species.
