!Young Heroes

!!Edge a.k.a. Jacob Rodrigo
* BadassBookworm: He writes essays as a ''hobby''. Wally is horrified when he learns it.
* BadPowersGoodPeople: He can cut anything and manipulate anyone, the perfect recipe for a killer, yet Edge strives to be a hero.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: [[spoiler: The Team and League think he has this, as the son of an AxeCrazy SerialKiller. He's not so sure himself about it not being true.]]
* DeathOfPersonality: [[spoiler: Attempts this after the Slaughterhouse arc, asking Nabuu to take his body and wipe out his mind out of guilt for what he unintentionally put his teammates through.]]
* FakingAmnesia: His cover story when he has to explain his circumstances to the League. [[spoiler: It ''could'' be a subversion.]]
* FatalFlaw: His [[HeroicSelfDeprecation self loathing]]. Jacob has a low opinion of himself and is constantly worried that he isn’t a good person at heart. He’s constantly judging himself and whenever he feels like he’s done something unforgivable he tends to become unstable and automatically assume the absolute worst about himself. This has lead him to make several poor choices such as [[spoiler: trying to get Nabuu to erase his mind after traumatizing his teammates in the Slaughterhouse arc]] or [[spoiler: making a deal with the League of Shadows after killing the Joker because he feels the Justice League will leave him in Belle Reve for what he’s done.]]
* FishOutOfWater: Downplayed but there is minor differences in the Justiceverse's lifestyle compared to what he knew in his home dimension. PlayedForLaughs when he asks for Coke, which Artemis misinterprets as him wanting to do drugs.
* {{Foil}}: Just like Taylor Hebert, he's saddled with a very morally-iffy superpower, can be ''extremely'' pragmatic and desperately strives to be a true hero while constantly berating himself. Bonus point for meeting a genuine hero right after stopping a villain and making a deal with him.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: As Batman explained it to the League, Edge has the potential to become a truly successful assassin - he has the cunning and skills for it.
* GoodIsNotSoft: He shreds a werewolf to ribbons to protect Dr Roquette on his first mission and only stops Artemis when she tries to kill her father because they are in public and need to maintain a good PR, later promising he would help her hide the body.
* TheHeart: Since his power allows him to manipulate anyone, he uses it to create and reinforce the bonds between his teammates.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: He may not be a psychopath but he still refuses to consider himself a good person and hopes the League's genuine heroism will end up influencing him.
* InTheBlood: His biggest fear, [[spoiler: which would lead him to become Jack Slash Mk 2.]]
* InformedJudaism: He told the Kaddish for a funeral but is otherwise a self-professed atheist.
* MundaneUtility: Exercising his cutting power in the kitchen certainly is this.
* NayTheist: Yes, he's now stuck in a dimension full of aliens and magic entities and genuine deities. He's still an atheist.
%%* NiceGuy
* ShipperOnDeck: A big supporter of Super Martian.
* TheSocialExpert: Flawlessly switches from awkward nerd to smooth-talking mentor or ruthless opponent according the need of the moment.
* VagueAge: He settled on twenty-two years old since he ''is'' legal but doesn't look like it.
* WillingChanneler: He gave himself to Nabu as a host, twice.

!!Artemis
* BerserkButton: She outright blows her top at Wally when the speedster declares [[spoiler: Edge cannot be trusted because of his supervillain father.]] It hit quite uncomfortably close to home, after all.
* DefrostingIceQueen: She starts antagonistic towards Edge, thinking he's constantly mocking her and wanting to put him in his place. [[spoiler: Comes the Slaughterhouse arc and her entire position towards him does a full 180.]]
* GoodIsNotNice: Very much abrasive and has no problems about killing a criminal, even if he's her father. ''Especially'' if he's her father.
%%* JerkWithAHeartOfGold
%%* NotSoDifferentRemark: From Edge. [[spoiler: She too struggles with the fact she's related to a villain and desesperately wants to rise above daddy's reputation and be a true hero.]]
* StunnedSilence: Her reaction when Wally blurts the team thinks she's actually Green Arrow's daughter.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Basically the effect when Kid Flash confesses the Team's theory about Green Arrow being her dad - if they can believe she's related to a ''hero'' then she ''has'' to have some heroic qualities.
* YouAreNotAlone: [[spoiler: Every negative thought Edge has about being a monster's offspring, she already had, and as such is well placed to support him when he crumbles.]]

!!Miss Martian a.k.a. M'gann
* ChildOfTwoWorlds: She really wants to fit in Terran culture but she can't help drawing comparisons with Mars.
* CutenessProximity: Edge's psychic babble reminds her of a toddler trying to broadcast their first words. Edge feels a bit emasculated when she gushes over how adorable it is.
* FantasticRacism: The sorcerer-priests from Mars preached White Martians were inherently wrong due to [[OurSoulsAreDifferent incomplete souls]]. She assures Aqualad and Edge it's okay because they don't preach anymore and [[BlatantLies she's Green]] but she's quite uneasy and stiff when talking about it.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: The GirlyGirl to Artemis's tomboy and the designated cook for the team.
%%* MindManipulation

!!Robin a.k.a. Dick Grayson
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: He wanted to become the second Batman. [[spoiler: In the Slaughterhouse Nine Arc, losing his adoptive father throws him on the path to revenge, just like Bruce Wayne was driven to vigilantism by his parents' murder.]]
* BreakTheCutie: Brutally shaken by [[spoiler: the Slaughterhouse Nine event]], he tearfully admits to Batman it changed his outlook upon superheroism. And learning about [[CrapsackWorld Earth Bet]] doesn't help.
* TheGadfly: He ought to be called the Troll Wonder, seriously.
* SecretKeeper: He perfectly knew who Artemis' father was and visibly panicked when Edge revealed he knew too... [[EntertaininglyWrong that she was Green Arrow's daughter.]]
* ShelteredAristocrat: Not only he was adopted by a billionaire, he's quite naive about how dirty heroics can be, which means he's very much shocked and disgusted by [[spoiler: Edge's decisions as a leader in the Slaughterhouse Arc]] and [[CrapsackWorld Earth Bet's general condition]].
* TraumaCongaLine: [[spoiler: Not only Batman was killed by the Slaughterhouse Nine in the relevant arc, Alfred also was attacked and left to die - losing his family ''again'' led him to briefly adopt the "Crimson Avenger" persona.]]
* WideEyedIdealist: Starts with shades of this, but circumstances force him to drop most of it.

!!Superboy a.k.a. Connor a.k.a. Kon-El
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: He really starts to defrost towards Edge when the other boy calls him "Connor" while undercover - it was for the mission's sake, but it was the first time someone called Superboy by a ''human'' name.
* BigBrotherMentor: Decides to assume this role after [[spoiler: learning that Lt Marvel is actually a disabled kid]].
* ClonesArePeopleToo: Very much angsts about his condition, and his "father" Superman being quite deadbeat in the parenting department doesn't help.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's struggling with pride and temper issues, but when chips come down you will be remembered his genetic template is ''[[TheCape Superman]]''.
* MindOverMatter: His tactile telekinesis. [[spoiler: He can ''broadcast'' his strength and will upon his surroundings, and this since after almost seeing a depowered Lt Marvel drowning in front of him.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: He was very hostile and envious towards Lieutenant Marvel for being a good-looking, FlyingBrick NiceGuy apparently interested in M'gann. He feels like crap when Freddy is de-transformed in front of him, revealing himself as a wheelchair-bound elementary school student. [[spoiler: This plus the kid being about to drown leads Superboy to ''trigger''.]]
* ShipTease: With M'gann, something their teammates are ''extremely'' enthusiastic about. They later make it official.
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: [[spoiler: In pure ''Worm'' style, he unlocks [[MindOverMatter tactile telekinesis]] in a highly stressfull situation involving a JerkassRealization and someone's life being endangered.]]

!!Kid Flash a.k.a. Wally West
* FieryRedhead: Definitely energetic and opiniated.
* LooseLips: Blurts out in front of Artemis that the Team knows Green Arrow isn't her uncle, right after being asked to keep mum about it. A chance for him that he explained and excused himself before being strangled.
* TheNicknamer: Oh, yes. Calling his teammates Megalicious and Edgelord is the least of this.
* SinsOfOurFathers: [[spoiler: Bluntly declares Edge is untrustworthy because he didn't confess his dad was a murderhobo.]]

!!Aqualad
* TheComicallySerious: It's very difficult to realize he's a DeadpanSnarker since his humor is Sahara-level of dryness.
* TheStoic: Extremely so.

!!Lieutenant Marvel a.k.a. Freddy
* AffectionateNickname: El-tee, the phonetic pronunciation of his title being abbreviated.
* AngstWhatAngst: Noticeably the ''only'' one in the Team to be unaffected by PTSD after [[spoiler: the Slaughterhouse Nine Arc]]. Batman speculates his powers protected him from the aftershocks.
* BadassAdorable: A magic-empowered kid who is just as sweet and enthusiastic you would expect from someone his age being able to live his dream to be a superhero.
* HandicappedBadass: Downplayed, Lieutenant Marvel is perfectly healthy but his SecretIdentity Freddy is wheelchair-bound, which means his legs are weak and atrophied.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: A prerequisite for the Marvel family.
* OlderAlterEgo: Downplayed; his superpowered form is teenaged, but Freddy himself is only an elementary school student.

!Heroes

!!Batman
* {{Foil}}: Compare with Armsmaster, who also uses lots of cool gadgets to fight crime, is very experienced in heroism and extremely no-nonsense, and was responsible for dragging a superpowered youth on the cape scene right after witnessing them taking a villain down. However, Batman is a ''lot'' much nicer and successful in keeping his impromptu ward on the right path.
* ParentalSubstitute: Very much for Robin. There's also hints of this with Edge, as he manages to make the youth feel like a little boy again when grounding him.
* PragmaticHero: His reasons for recruiting Edge are two-fold. First of all, Edge will not be deterred from the heroic path, and inducing him in the young team reduces the odds of him dying in a back alley without support. Second, Batman can watch a potential asset and ensure he won't be a foe in the future.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: First points Edge could try to become anything other than a superhero, but accepts to train the kid after seeing he's not going to stop chasing after his dream.
* SinsOfOurFathers: Does ''not'' believe in it. [[spoiler: After the Slaughterhouse arc, he decides to consider Edge as his own man, not as Jack Slash's offspring.]]
* SoProudOfYou: When a sobbing Robin confesses he doesn't want to become a second Batman, his mentor tells him such a decision makes him very happy. Because Robin shouldn't try to be Batman Lite, he should try to be ''Robin''.
* TerrorHero: Their first meeting ends with Edge fainting. The second is not much better.

!!Doctor Fate
* AdaptationalHeroism: He's less of a jackass here, probably because he was promised a willing host.
* AffirmativeActionLegacy: Khalid - the second Doctor Fate appearing in the story - is from Arabic descent.
* EveryoneHasStandards: In spite of his longing for a host, he's downright uneasy with Edge's second merging with him since [[spoiler: the youth asks him to wipe his conciousness from existence and keep his body forever.]]
* LegacyCharacter: Doctor Fate is a mantle, with Nabu's host changing.
* MarriedToTheJob: Nelson wore the Helmet several days in a row when circumstances were pressing enough. This and his love for his wife led him to retire.
* PassingTheTorch: Edge promised Nabu he would find someone worthy of the Helmet to replace Nelson. He chose Khalid.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Ready to listen when Edge swears to find a successor to Nelson and later exposes his idea to do so.

!!Green Arrow
* FamilyRelationshipSwitcheroo: When you're known as a shameless player and claims a teenage girl as your niece in spite of your lack of siblings, people are going to ''talk''.
* OpenMouthInsertFoot: A sad combination of this and Red Arrow's explosive temper ensures their relation's straining.
* ReallyGetsAround: It didn't help his case when he introduced Artemis as his "niece", leading Edge to wrongly conclude she was his daughter.

!Civilians

!!Serling Roquette
* AscendedExtra: She becomes Edge's girlfriend after her canon apparition, meaning she stays involved with the story.
* NerdsAreSexy: Well, Edge certainly thinks it.

!!Antonin Vesela
* MotherlyScientist: He's quite amiable towards Edge when the youth willingly becomes a guinea pig at Star Labs.
* SmartPeoplePlayChess: And a Slavic to boot, so he's pratically unbeatable.
* YouNoTakeCandle: Due to him being Vlatavan, his speech is a little bit jumbled.

!!Alfred Pennyworth
* NotSoAboveItAll: Fighting crime one breakfast at the time, this is '''Butlerman'''!
* PaperThinDisguise: Only a domino mask when he decides to be Butlerman.
* ParentalSubstitute: A vibe of this towards Robin.
* ServileSnarker: He wouldn't be Alfred without the snark and the poise.
