It wasn't until Dalton was murdered by one of his salt wives and Lord Jason's widow took matters into her own hands and sent troops in against the ironborn that matters were resolved, and Tyland was dead by that point.

Ironically, Aegon III considered him a friend and true councillor and even [[DuetotheDead held his hand when he died of Winter Fever]].

The fact he'd been the biggest advocate of killing the young Aegon was the reason why many former Black lords hated Tyland during his tenure as Hand.
