[[folder:Lloyd Frontera]]
!!Lloyd Frontera (Kim Suho)

A young Korean man who served in the army, and has a knack for construction. When he's off-work, Suho would spend his free time reading up on the web novel, "Knight of Blood and Iron." One day, a strange event happens where Suho is suddenly transported into the fantasy world of "Knight of Blood and Iron," where his mind has taken over the body of the drunkard and no-good baron's son, Lloyd Frontera.

With the help provided from the System that sent him off to the fantasy world, Suho as Lloyd uses his background in modern construction to go about creating a new life for himself. Lloyd does this alongside Javier Asrahan, the protagonist of the novel's story who's been assigned to serve as Lloyd's escort. However, the original Lloyd's awful antics has left Javier with a bad impression of him, which everyone else shares. Thus, along with building up his new life, Lloyd has to also go about repairing his reputation. He does this mostly through his construction projects that provide better lives for the people, but he also learns how to properly fight, gaining a reputation as someone who fights with a shovel. The System also provides him with a group of familiars that support him at every turn, whether it be for construction or battle.
----
* TheAce: Lloyd goes from a SpoiledBrat to the most outstanding estate developer who is hailed as a UniversallyBelovedLeader by his people. Queen Alicia views Lloyd as the most competent citizen of the kingdom and often commissions him for important projects.
* AchievementsInIgnorance: [[spoiler:Lloyd accidentally gives himself a Manaheart when he uses a Triple Mana Burst after being given a concussion in the midst of his battle with the Gigatitan.]]
* ActuallyThatsMyAssistant: When a number of noblemen's daughters come to court him, many of them mistake Javier for him due to Javier's good looks and general aura of nobility.
* AxCrazy: He had [[TheDreaded a bit of a reputation]] for this as the spoiled hooligan Lloyd Frontera who would destroy property and assault the people of his estate in a drunken rage. Downplayed once Kim Suho takes over Lloyd's body. His violent rage is a truly a thing to behold but there's always a method behind the madness of what looks like psychotic, unrestrained force.
* BadassLongcoat: A brown longcoat that may not be too flashy, but it certainly adds to his presence as a rough-mannered yet competent leader and even billows dramatically in the wind
* BadBoss:
** ''Specifically'' with [[AssholeVictim Tordes]], the ConMan who originally put the Frontera estate into debt and lead to the entire place's downfall, Arcos and Marbella's suicide, and Julian's homelessness and eventual death on the streets. He turns him into a debt slave who has to work off the money he defrauded the family (amounting to 520 years of hard labour) with his only other option being [[JoinOrDie taken to court for summary execution for his crimes]].On going through Lupellan's belongings, Lloyd finds a book of dark magic that apparently gives him an idea to help the estate...only to rush straight to Tordes toiling away in the mines to give him the [[SarcasmMode good news]] -- the book contained a spell that lets him turn a dead body into a controllable corpse, so Tordes can keep working for the Fronteras for the whole 520 years!
-->'''Lloyd''': Hey. Am I the only one excited about this? [[DeathGlare Smile.]]\
''Tordes forces a warbling smile through his BrokenTears''.\
'''The System:''' The ruler of the underworld is [[EvenEvilHasStandards impressed]] by you and would like to offer you a position.
** Later on, when building an underground waterway in the desert, Lloyd explains that the final blow to break open the underground water vein was usually a death sentence, traditionally performed as a HeroicSacrifice by the oldest member of the workforce to allow their loved ones and community to survive whilst they were drowned by the rushing waters. To that end, he "volunteers" Tordes to be the one to make the sacrificial play...except by this point, Lloyd has gained [[spoiler:30 undead skeleton workers]] from the fallout of Namaran, whom could easily do the job without risking anything and actually ''fetched Tordes to bring him to the site''. Understandably, he calls Lloyd out on needlessly asking him to die whilst Lloyd considers it a noble act that would make something worthwhile of Tordes' worthless life. When one of said workers does end up doing the deed, Lloyd is clearly [[HeroicComedicSociopath still dissatisfied by Tordes' non-compliance]].
** Later on, when visiting [[spoiler:actual, literal Hell and needing to utilise the local demon population for a construction project]], Lloyd embraces this full-force, making full use of his NightmareFace and {{Jerkass}} capabilities to bully and berate his workforce into getting the job done, aided by physical beatings by himself or Javier as needed. Due to the [[BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad standards of that particular race]], it flips around to being a BenevolentBoss for them, as they're left in awe at how much of a colossal scumbag he is to them, and willingly follow him for more abusive working conditions.
* BenevolentBoss: For all of his love of money and profit, Lloyd is consistently this. He repeatedly shouts at all of his workers to put their safety first, evacuates them from a digging project at the first sign of danger, and ensures they all have break times and overtime pay. When he proposes raising taxes, he ensures that it's never beyond his people's ability to pay and raises wages proportionately with the region's growing prosperity. It gets to the point that when Lloyd is on the verge of going into debt to construct a new sewer system, all of Frontera rises up and offers to work for him for free to help finish the project. He responds by telling them all to shut up and drafting work contracts so each and every one of them gets paid.
* BrainsAndBrawn: He's the brains to Javier's brawn. While Javier is by no means stupid, he doesn't have Lloyd's encyclopedic knowledge of modern civil engineering, which is needed to turn the Fronteras' fortunes around. What Javier does have is enormous talent as a swordsman and an incredibly sturdy physique, which is useful both as a bodyguard to Lloyd and for performing hard labor.
* BrainyBrunette: In contrast to Javier's shining silver hair, Lloyd's hair is a mundane brown. Given that he brings knowledge of civil engineering from a civilization centuries ahead of the setting of the novel, he appears to be practically a magician to the people of the setting.
* BitchSlap: Delivers brutal ones to each of Julian's bullies, starting with one that [[NotHyperbole literally]] wipes the floor with Diego.
* BrilliantButLazy:
** Lloyd's dream is to [[IdleRich live as a rich bum]] living off his income from taxes paid to his family estate and royalties from his construction projects. To this end, he uses his knowledge of modern construction techniques in hopes of raking in enough money to never have to work again. Unfortunately, his penchant for excellence only ratchets up demand for his services, keeping him perpetually busy.
** [[ExploitedTrope Alicia knows this]] and volunteers him as Magentano's diplomat solely because he's so lazy that [[LaboriousLaziness he'll do something miraculous just to get back to being a bum]].
* BullyHunter: While Lloyd initially has little attachment to Julian because of how minor of a character Julian was in the book, he jumps to Julian's defense after realizing that he's being attacked by the son of Viscount Lacona. He then proceeds to assault all of Julian's bullies to put the fear of death into them before having Alicia's inquisitors expose the corruption the noble courts and the academy via their Confession spell.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Lloyd is... quirky to work with, his methods aren't quite what most would expect and his personality definitely takes a bit to get used to. But he is extremely talented in construction and gets the job done at almost any cost.
* CloseToHome:
** As selfish as he is, Lloyd cannot bear to see the poor and hungry suffer because he spent his last days as Suho Kim just barely scraping by. When he finishes his insulated, heated apartment complex for the refugees flooding into Frontera territory, the first people allowed in are the women, children, and elderly. When these same people offer to work for him for free as thanks for saving for their lives, he tells them all to shut up and starts drafting equitable working contracts for all of them.
** After being shanghaied into becoming Magentano's representative in Asfahan, Lloyd's party is given the "padashar", an amulet that would let them purchase anything in Asfahan on the sultan's tab in an attempt to humiliate the delegation by making them into beggars. Lloyd promptly and shamelessly goes on a spending spree with it. But before he does, he buys out the most expensive inn in the entire country and signs away the rights to a homeless orphan struggling to make ends meet, giving her a home and a business that will keep her comfortable for the rest of her days.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: He definitely seems pretty manic and weird to others with his loud demeanor, the strange faces he often makes, his modern sensibilities, and especially his System-based abilities that usually only he can see. Even beyond that, he has his moments. One of the first times we see the man finally take a break and relax, he's playing chess with himself while pretending to be two different people while shouting in frustration when he's losing. Against himself. When Javier tries to question this, Lloyd's face simply fills with sheer unhinged glee over not having to do any work for once.
* CombatPragmatist: Nearly every fight he's in, Lloyd uses some kind of dirty trick or field advantage to get one up on his opponent.
* ConvenientlyOrphaned: Suho had no friends, family, or loved ones left before taking on the role of Lloyd. As a result, he has no attachments to his former life and adapts to being Lloyd very quickly.
* TheCorruptor: Parodied. Everyone except for Javier and the orcs gradually start adopting Lloyd's AntiHero tendencies.
* CrocodileTears: While talking to the Forest Elves about their recent famine and how terribly their families must be starving, Lloyd starts to cry tears of sympathy. However he's pretty clearly just trying to manipulate the Elves and it's also greatly undermined by his insincere SlasherSmile.
* DissonantSerenity: After beating the daylights out of Diego, Viscount Lacona's son, Lloyd tells Julian not to worry, as Diego can't bully Julian if Diego is dead. Julian is utterly disturbed that Lloyd can say this with such a bright, happy expression.
* DreadfulMusician:
** Lloyd's singing is so awful that even Suho's loving parents asked him to never, ever sing. His music teacher hurled a pipe organ at him for trying to sing during lessons while a priest declared him a demon for trying to sing along at church.
** Lloyd's singing is so awful that it gets utilised in a life-or-death fight against [[spoiler:a demon of Hell more powerful than any swordmaster]], who recoils in agony from listening to his voice. Even Javier covers his ears in aura to block out the sound of Lloyd's singing voice despite needing every second he can to attack their foe. The news of his utterly horrific singing voice eventually [[spoiler:makes its way around the entirety of Hell itself, whose demonic population's [[BadIsGoodAndGoodIsBad standards]] mean they sincerely consider Lloyd "Hell's Greatest Musician", and treat him visiting the place for a job like a rock star visiting to perform a concert]].
** When told that the only way to reach the Mermaid kingdom is to have them determine if he's a friend of foe by singing, both Javier and Lloyd think it's a bust from the get-go, only being convinced to try it when the sea captain tells them the tale of how he met and was rescued by the mermaids. Since he'd fallen overboard at sea at the time, [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome his singing was understandably terrible from his lack of composure and struggling to keep his head above water]], but despite that, the mermaids still helped him because they didn't pay attention to rhyme or tone, but how true the singer's sincerity is. Lloyd does indeed give it a go, and it appears to be working... [[spoiler:[[BaitAndSwitch only for blood to burst from the listeners' ears]] and them to attack en masse at the "Declaration of War". When Lloyd confronts the captain over this, he punches Lloyd in the face for "reciting some curse" instead of singing, causing Lloyd to break down in tears]].
** As part of his agreement with [[spoiler:the Dragon King]], Lloyd wakes him up from his [[{{Sleepyhead}} perpetual sleepiness]] early each morning to call his wife via singing. Said being is practically powerful enough to be the WorldsStrongestMan, even compared to Javier's full potential, yet on experiencing Lloyd's singing, they experience actual terror when jolted awake.
* EqualOpportunityEvil: {{Inverted|Trope}}, seeing as how [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold he's not technically evil despite what appearances may suggest]]. Lloyd will employ just about anyone, regardless of their age, gender or even species, as long as they have the kind of skills/resources that are necessary for construction work.
* FaceOfAThug: Normally his face is pretty average but he is prone to making absolutely demonic and villainous expressions. It's so bad that [[spoiler:a being from Hell called his face scary and asked him if he was from Hell]]. Despite all that, he's quite a bit more selfless than even he himself realizes.
* FingerTenting: Prone to doing this [[BreadEggsBreadedEggs when scheming, or during negotiations, or when scheming during negotiations.]]
* GoalInLife: His goal is to become someone who can live a [[IdleRich rich]], [[LazyBum lazy]] and peaceful life until dying of old age. Given all the dangers of the "Knight of Blood and Iron" fantasy world he was transported to, Suho knows that it will take a lot of work to reach such a goal.
* GotVolunteered: Alicia selects Lloyd to be her delegate to Asfahan. Not because he's especially diplomatic or a particularly good representative of Magentano, but because he has a track record of coming up with miraculous solutions to an issue because he's so desperate to get out of work.
* HardWorkHardlyWorks: In his past life as Suho, he tried desperately to work his way out of poverty, but none of his efforts amounted to anything. But armed with his new supernatural powers, Javier's help, his knowledge of the book's events, Lloyd's incredible amounts of elbow grease pay off now.
* IdeaBulb: Lloyd will have a "lightbulb" moment any time he gets an idea to fix the problem he's currently working on.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: The lengths he goes through to exploit others and punish his enemies [[AntiHero can get outright devilish]], but [[CrossesTheLineTwice he's so over-the-top about it that it's hilarious]]. That [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold he genuinely gives the people working under him better lives despite his manipulations]] and that [[AssholeVictim his enemies always deserve the treatment he gives them]] helps a lot.
* HumbleHero: Zigzagged. He genuinely doesn't think he deserves a lot of the praise and respect he gets for his helpful actions and will usually excuse it all as selfish pragmatism. A lot of it has to do with how unappreciated his work was back in Korea so he's just uncomfortable with being so beloved. That said, it won't stop him from exploiting his good reputation if it helps him make more money.
* TheHyena: Prone to going [[EvilLaugh "BWAHAHA!!" or "HAH!"]] maniacally when he's getting particularly devious or greedy. Combined with his exaggerated facial expressions in the webcomic adaptation, he often comes across as LaughingMad.
* AnIcePerson: Downplayed. He can't just conjure up ice out of nowhere which became a problem when he promised to build refrigeration for the Orc Tribe's meat. He eventually improvised a method of absorbing warm mana from collected water, cooling it into the ice that he needs.
* ImprovisationalIngenuity: Lloyd is great at coming up with plans on the fly, whether it's making modifications to a building project, figuring out a way to deal with a rampaging monster, or how to convince others to give them money. His reputation for ingenuity gets to the point that Alicia starts throwing him at every problem she can't solve, believing (rightfully so) that he'll figure something out.
* ImprovisedWeapon: Lloyd's primary weapon is a [[ShovelStrike shovel]], given his Korean background in construction. He tends to use the shovel like a sword after Javier teaches him some sword techniques, though the basis of his techniques is bayonet training from his time in the military.
* InelegantBlubbering: He's already inelegant as is, but he really doesn't hold back tears when his goals of laziness are disrupted especially when Queen Alicia is involved.
-->'''Javier''': Master Lloyd. Don't cry. You look extremely ugly when you do.
* InformedDeformity: Disregarding his frequent display of devilish faces while scheming, Lloyd's ordinary appearance looks like any other young man in the series. Nonetheless, he's been called ugly more than once and his looks are even compared to that of a plain potato, especially when contrasted with his handsome escort Javier.
* JerkassRealization: When his summoned helpers all beg him for attention, he orders them to stop bothering him while he works on a recipe for cement. But seeing their disappointed faces reminds him of his dog, the last living member of his family, and how he regretted not being more affectionate to it before it passed away. That's when he decides to shelve the experimentation and go an evening walk with them, where he sincerely apologizes for treating them like living machinery rather than living beings with their own needs.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Although outwardly his motives are always purely monetary, many of his projects are meant to make other people's lives better. On top of that he legitimately can't turn away when people are suffering. However, whenever anyone calls him out on his more altruistic moments he either denies them or gets embarrassed and tries to downplay it.
* LaboriousLaziness: In his quest to become an IdleRich LazyBum, Lloyd institutes enormously successful infrastructure projects, gives refugees lodging and jobs, and quashes corruption at home and in the imperial capital. No matter how much he'd rather kick back and relax, he always winds up finding something to devote all of his time and energy to.
* LargeHam: Lloyd is outrageously expressive when he's feeling smug ([[SmugSmiler which is often]]), fantasizing about money ([[MoneyFetish which is often]]), or angry at a setback ([[RuleOfThree which is often]]). His face contorts in [[WildTake blatantly impossible ways]] in the webcomic adaptation and he's often shouting and screaming about the money he's making (or not making).
* ManaDrain: Early on, he learns the "Asrahan Core Technique" from Javier allowing him to absorb mana from his surroundings. He specifically learned it as a means of countering Sir Neumann's "Manaheart"-powered attacks in their upcoming duel. Over time it improves from requiring physical contact to being able to absorb from anything nearby before he learns to control the direction of absorption so he doesn't accidentally destroy everything in the current vicinity.
* ManipulativeBastard: Lloyd. Constantly. He is always looking for the best way to make the best profit and he manipulates everything and everyone around him to get it. One of the most notable examples is when he introduces a sauna to the Mermaid Kingdom under the stipulation that anyone who uses it would have to help him dig for a stone that supposedly had the ability to answer any question. The mermaids initially refused, but the sauna's ability to relax their tight, tired muscles proves so enticing that they work for him without pay anyways.
* MinoredInAsskicking: He learned some swordsmanship from Javier in order to win his duel with a corrupt knight. While Lloyd will never approach Javier's level, he's still very strong in his own right from dumping his RP in mana-boosting skills [[spoiler:and even giving himself a Manaheart by throwing a Mana Burst that would have otherwise killed him]]. As a result, nobles expecting an easy duel with him [[CurbStompBattle are quickly pounded into the pavement by his shovel]]. Lloyd can easily take out the best students of the Royal Academy with little effort.
* MoneyFetish: Lloyd becomes physically ill when he starts depleting his funds for his apartment complex project... until Javier returns from the royal capital with more money, at which point Lloyd instantly recovers and jumps out of his bed with a wicked grin on his face.
-->'''Lloyd:''' Money is the [[SymbolSwearing f***ing best]]! If you think money can't buy you happiness, you just don't have enough money!
* MrFanservice: Less prominent than Javier due to fewer shirtless moments and his over-the-top facial expressions, but he still develops into a well-built PrettyBoy.
* MundaneUtility: [[spoiler:He accidentally acquires a Manaheart, which human swordsmen usually gain after years of intense training, granting them superhuman strength and endurance [[MagicKnight as well as other mystical abilities]]. His immediate thought is how much easier it will make digging quarries for future construction projects.]]
* NewLifeInAnotherWorldBonus: Lloyd has access to the System for instant powerups and the ability to summon helpful creations based on his "reputation points", which he gains for improving his relationships with "key characters" like his family, Javier, and Queen Alicia.
* NewPowersAsThePlotDemands: Lloyd develops several abilities that are well suited to whatever situation he finds himself in, but {{justified|Trope}} InUniverse as he has a system that allows him to choose what ability he wants to develop in that moment. Many times he has to come up with some arbitrary excuse like carrying around a book about summoning or just being some sort of talented genius like how Javier naturally is with swordsmanship. Eventually, Javier trusts him enough to even help him come up with excuses for the eerily convenient new abilities he learns.
* NightmareFace: PlayedForLaughs. Whenever he's feeling particularly greedy or devious, expect some combination of SlasherSmile, WideEyesAndShrunkenIrises, PsychoticSmirk, ManiacTongue, FaceFramedInShadow, or GlowingEyesOfDoom that makes everyone around him uncomfortable if not outright horrified.
* NonIdleRich: One of the recurring punchlines of the series is that Lloyd's dream is to become a [[IdleRich a noble who lives the easy life]] while his estate makes him money on its own, but the powers that be (in particular the Queen) refuse to let him live a dull, uneventful life because he's too good at what he does.
* ObfuscatingInsanity: At least some of the time, he'll act more unhinged and intimidating just to scare his enemies before snapping back to calm and dignifed the very moment he's speaking to someone respectable, as seen with his assault on Julian's bullies and subsequent conversation with the Royal Guard. [[spoiler: Later on, when he's told that the Sultan of Asfahan, Samarkand will only agree to negotiate peace and reparations with the Magentano Kingdom if Lloyd Frontera stays in Asfahan, Lloyd immediately tries to destroy a little sandworm outside of the city using the [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill most unnecessarily destructive abilities he has]] while shouting psychotically about his loyalty to Samarkand.]] The sultan then decides to allow Lloyd to leave the country, [[OhCrap realizing too late that he's just been robbed blind.]]
* ObliviousToLove: Justified. Lloyd has been rejected by countless women and often faced ridicule for his ugly looks even in his past life in South Korea as Suho Kim. Naturally, it doesn't even occur to him that someone might have a crush on him, and the person is question is none other than [[spoiler:[[TheHighQueen the Queen Regnant]] herself.]]
* PinocchioNose: Lloyd tends to make a perfectly still face devoid of inflection whenever he's hiding something or wants to change the subject, particularly when it comes to the subject of where he's getting his engineering knowledge from. It tends to make people more suspicious rather than less. The webcomic represents this as his face suddenly gaining the texture of metal. Doubles as a VisualPun as Javier describes his face as becoming [[TheShameless strangely brazen]].
* PlainJane: It's a RunningGag that Lloyd's decidedly plain appearance next to PrettyBoy Javier means that [[ActuallyThatsMyAssistant the latter is often mistaken for the former]]. Combined with Lloyd's propensity for making ridiculous sneering faces, he's called lacking in appearance in many ways. Alicia even compares him to a potato.
* ProneToTears: Particularly in the webnovel, Lloyd is prone to tearing up by all sorts of reasons, though the most common one is when he's frustrated or has been insulted so pointedly he can't give a good comeback.
* TheReliableOne: {{Deconstructed|Trope}} in Suho Kim's past life; because he once [[DoWellButNotPerfect did a job too well]] while in the military, his superiors constantly saddled him with increasingly menial work, taking his expertise for granted.
* ShipperWithAnAgenda: PlayedForLaughs. Lloyd supports his brother, Julian's marriage to [[spoiler:Princess Serajard of Asfahan]] in an attempt to escape from Alicia's authority. Julian gets married, but Lloyd doesn't achieve his intended objective as he gets called back to the Royal Palace to help Alicia not long afterwards.
* ShovelStrike: Lloyd is incredibly skilled at fighting with a shovel by using his prior bayonet training as part of his past mandatory military service in the Korean Army. He even has a passive skill that boosts his physical stats while he's using a shovel. This expertise, combined with the knowledge of swordfighting he gets from Javier, makes Lloyd a surprisingly formidable melee combatant who wields a solid iron shovel in combat.
* SummonMagic: Lloyd pretends to be someone capable of this in order to explain where the little familiars that help him out with construction came from, when in truth he used reputation points to purchase new familiars from the System. After the familiars are summoned into Lloyd's world, however, the familiars actually stick around permanently. Since the familiars are small, they tend to hide within Lloyd's clothing until the times come for him to bring them out. [[spoiler:When using the Spoiler Ending View to see the BadFuture where most of the Frontera estate died of Cholera, [[NoOntologicalInertia his Summons fade away into mana]] shortly after he passes away as well.]]
* TookALevelInBadass: [[spoiler:After nearly killing himself by accidentally using a Triple Core Mana Blast, Lloyd inadvertently unlocks his own Manaheart, a prerequisite for using advanced sword techniques.]]
* UniversallyBelovedLeader: As Lloyd's projects bring an incredible standard of living to Frontera, the people of the land go from hating his guts to worshipping the ground he walks on. His workers venerate him with cult-like reverence and treat being berated by a hologram of him as a reason to jump for joy. Lloyd himself is perplexed by this behavior and [[ComicallyMissingThePoint wonders who made them like that]], much to Javier's befuddlement.
* UnskilledButStrong: Between Javier's training him and his System, he has considerable mana like a proper knight, granting him superhuman strength and endurance among other supernatural abilities, but he isn't exactly a combat specialist.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: After Scheherazade accidentally destroys most his clothes with an aura sword while sparring with Javier, Lloyd spends the rest of his time in Asfahan wearing nothing but boots, a pair of boxers, and robes worn like a cape. [[NakedPeopleAreFunny A couple people are rather bewildered by it]], but he cheerfully comes up with an excuse every time.
* WhenHeSmiles: In the webcomic adaptation, he's shown to be capable of sincere, earnest smiles like when he sees how happy and peaceful Javier's life has become compared to how [[DoomMagnet depressing his story goes]] in the original "Knight of Blood and Iron" novel.
* WowingCthulhu: Lloyd's actions when dealing with those who have slighted him and his family are so ruthless that even the King of the Underworld is impressed and wants to meet with him personally.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Javier Asrahan]]
!!Javier Asrahan

The original protagonist of the web novel "Knight of Blood and Iron." The web novel's story has Javier go on a long and bloody revenge quest after the fall of the Frontera estate, who took Javier in as their adopted son. Before starting his revenge quest, Javier was assigned to serve as the escort who protects the eldest son, Lloyd Frontera, whom he ends up not liking due to Lloyd's awful persona and antics. However, Javier puts up with it out of loyalty to Arcos and Marbella.

In the timeline where Suho Kim takes over Lloyd's body, Javier no longer has to go on his revenge quest, and instead continues to serve as an escort despite growing suspicions that Lloyd's acting as someone completely different. While still learning to become a better sword fighter, Javier goes about supporting Lloyd with his construction projects along with teaching him how to fight. Though some of Lloyd's antics still tend to really annoy him, Javier grows to respect Lloyd after witnessing his efforts to help people all around the world.
----
* TheAce: As befitting of the original main character of that world, Javier is incredibly talented in everything he does, becoming a Sword Master in his twenties when most people only achieve that after years if not decades of training and is generally considered a prodigy. He is also very handsome and attracts many ladies.
* AdaptationalDyeJob: Javier's hair is described as silver in both the novels and the webcomic, but colored a light mint green in the comic. This is because the artist struggled to give Javier silver hair without making it look old and grey.
* AdaptationalMuscles: In the original novel, Javier is described as slim enough to easily pass for a woman when he has a wig on. In the webcomic, the [[AuthorAppeal artist's love for drawing muscles]] leads Javier to instead have a HeroicBuild, making him an AmazonianBeauty when disguised in drag.
* AttractiveBentGender: Played straight in the webnovel where he can easily pass as a young lady with a simple disguise, his slim figure allowing him to "turn into a stunner". Parodied and DoubleSubverted in the webcomic. Because of his HeroicBuild, his attempt at crossdressing ends up making him look like an AmazonianBeauty, bordering on a BrawnHilda were it not for his {{bishounen}} face. Fortunately for him, the town's male population is mostly made of [[AmazonChaser Amazon Chasers]].
* BlueIsHeroic: He usually wears a blue coat and is practically co-protagonists with Lloyd.
* ChickMagnet: Javier is extremely handsome, causing ladies to chase him.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: As someone who was rescued by Arcos' goodwill and kindness, Javier cannot stand idly by when others are in trouble. He rushes headlong into the fray to save those in need, even when he's clearly outmatched. His opinion of Lloyd improves as Lloyd's actions help the less fortunate, but falls when Lloyd is acting selfishly.
* ComicallySerious: Compared to Lloyd, Javier is quieter, calmer, and more sincere. A lot of comedy is derived from his honest and deadpan reactions to Lloyd's schemes, antics, and overall behavior.
* DemotedToExtra: In-universe. In the original novel that Suho read, Javier is the central character whose actions change the world. But due to Lloyd's actions, Javier retains his position as a guard and servant of the Fronteras and thus [[TheLancer acts as a subordinate to Lloyd]].
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Even though it is primarily Lloyd/Suho Kim's story, we still get a lot of insight into Javier's thoughts and his CharacterDevelopment as the story progresses.
* DoomMagnet: In "Knight of Blood and Iron", Javier loses everyone he loves and cherishes. The Fronteras who took him in, the love of his life, along with many of the people he swore to protect. It's said that Javier is destined to be alone [[LonelyAtTheTop because of his boundless strength]], turning his tale into a tragic adventure. Lloyd's actions prevent many of these tragic events and Javier remains at the Frontera estate as a result.
* DoubleJump: Figures out a way to move through the air quickly [[ExplosionPropulsion using successive Mana Blast]] during the fight against the Legendary Beast King Storma. Later when fighting against a Dragon, he displays a more efficient method of using mana barriers to jump off of in a split second.
* DragonInChief: [[TheLancer Heroically]] {{inverted}} and PlayedForLaughs. Due to their different rankings in the social ladder, Javier can't directly retaliate against Lloyd's antics despite being far more powerful than Lloyd will ever be. Nonetheless, Javier often menages to provoke Lloyd via a StealthInsult, leading to comical moments where Lloyd uselessly tries to physically punish Javier, only for the knight to effortlessly repel him with one hand.
* EyeTake: In the webtoon. After watching Lloyd's terrible luck with women for a long time, Javier is shocked to the core when he discovers that there is a woman romantically interested in Lloyd, and the said woman is [[spoiler:[[TheHighQueen Queen Alicia Magentano]] herself.]]
* HappilyAdopted: Was adopted off the streets by Baron Arcos Frontera as a child during a severe Winter. Despite officially working for them as a knight, he fully considers the Fronteras to be his family and their estate to be his home.
* HavingABlast: Javier can fire a magic blast from the tip of his sword by carefully channeling his mana. Lloyd convinces him to try it on a rock [[MundaneUtility to use it as impromptu dynamite]]; [[SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome the point-blank explosion burns Javier's shirt off]].
* HeroesPreferSwords: He's the hero protagonist of "Knight of Blood and Iron," and his primary means of fighting is with a sword.
* HotMenAtWork: Often participates in Lloyd's construction projects and is usually the only shirtless non-orc male at the construction site.
* IdealHero: In stark contrast to Lloyd, Javier is earnest, polite, and entirely selfless, helping those in need without a second thought.
* TheInsomniac: Javier couldn't sleep on his own due to his enhanced senses. He relies on Lloyd to get him to sleep by [[TheBore Lloyd reciting math textbooks]]. Even after Javier claims to have control of his senses to not need Lloyd anymore, he's gotten so used to being bored to sleep that he ''can't'' doze off without Lloyd's help.
* InstantExpert: Javier is noted to have enormous talent in all parts of being a swordsman, from bladework to aura manipulation to footwork. While being chased through elven territory, Javier imitates the elves' foot work to be able to traverse the forest quickly without harming a single plant. This shocks his pursuers, as he mastered a technique that usually takes 100 years to master in less than an hour.
* JerkassToOne: Javier is a ServileSnarker to Lloyd and ''only'' Lloyd. Javier rarely passes up on an opportunity to mock Lloyd directly or indirectly and has to use mana to contain his laughter when women turn their noses up at the thought of an ArrangedMarriage between Lloyd and them. To everyone else, Javier is the perfect gentleman.
* MagicKnight: His SuperStrength and NighInvulnerability are powered by mana. He can also form his mana into physical shapes and release explosive ranged blasts.
* MasterSwordsman: At the start of the series, Javier has reached the level of a High Sword Expert in his early 20s when most people spend decades of their lives trying to achieve that level of mastery. [[spoiler:And in his fight with Sir Kyle, [[TookALevelInBadass Javier becomes a Swordmaster in earnest who overpowers Kyle]].]]
* MrFanservice: The most common source of FemaleGaze in the webtoon, being a tall and handsome young man who regularly displays his chiseled physique.
* MundaneUtility: Lloyd finds plenty of ways to put his MagicKnight skills to use for construction, much to Javier's shame.
* OneManArmy: Javier is consistently shown to be capable of slaughtering monsters by the dozens, though he has his limits, such as when he's nearly overwhelmed by a swarm of wild ants due to how difficult it is to breathe in the coal mines. [[spoiler:After becoming a Swordmaster, he's considered capable of destroying a small nation on his own.]]
* PowerfulAndHelpless: Javier is an unbelievably talented swordsman and the original hero of "Knight of Blood and Iron". But for all of his strength, he lacks the business acumen or the revolutionary ideas required to dig the Fronteras out of their debt. Seeing Lloyd's accomplishments convinces Javier to protect him in earnest because Lloyd is the family's only hope of survival.
* RealMenWearPink: The most talented swordsman in the lands. Late into the night, he apparently wears fuzzy pink slippers with cat smiles on them. At certain points he's also shown snoozing with what appears to be a plushie of [[RidiculouslyCuteCritter the pink snake summon Bangul.]]
* SecretSecretKeeper: [[spoiler:Javier has long deduced that the current Lloyd Frontera is an entirely different person from the original. The only question is what "Lloyd" is and how he replaced the original Lloyd. After Suho comes clean to Javier and admits that he didn't mean to take over Lloyd's body, Javier accepts Suho's word and goes to bed, as Lloyd is clearly being sincere given his lack of a PinocchioNose.]]
* ServileSnarker: Javier is officially in the employ of the Fronteras, thus making Lloyd his superior. But Javier is so disgusted by Lloyd's obsession with money and willingness to blackmail and manipulate others for profit that he mocks Lloyd constantly on the sly.
* SourSupporter: Javier will follow Lloyd to the end of the world and face heaven and hell to protect him. He will also complain about it while finding immense, sadistic pleasure in watching Lloyd get beat up in ways that are not life-threatening.
* UndyingLoyalty:
** Javier was once a homeless vagrant after losing his parents before being taken in by Arcos, who gave him a home and a purpose. This is why he's forever loyal to Arcos and the Frontera Estate as a whole.
** Gradually develops this for Lloyd. While initially, he only begrudingly looked after Lloyd to keep him out of trouble, he finds himself moved by the lives Lloyd has improved with his skills as well as his hard working, reliable nature. He finally lets go of his resentment for Lloyd when he is acknowledged for being a true knight that he can entrust his life to. Even when offered positions that would offer much better pay and prestige, Javier turns them down without hesitation under threat of death.
** Later on, he [[AngerBornOfWorry angrily confronts]] Lloyd over once again risking his own life in what was very nearly a HeroicSacrifice for the Frontera Estate's workers if Javier hadn't saved him in the nick of time. When Lloyd insists that he will never put the lives of his own workers at risk before his own, Javier begrudgingly respects his sense of responsibility with The System confirming that Javier's respect for Lloyd has actually risen higher from this argument. The System even states that from now on, Javier would literally give his life if that's what it would take to protect Lloyd.
** In the original novel, he went on a RoaringRampageOfRevenge after discovering the treachery that led to Arcos's and Marbella's deaths.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Over time, this becomes Lloyd's and Javier's relationship. Both of them snipe at each other constantly, with Lloyd damaging Javier's pride with menial tasks and Javier struggling to hold in his laughter at Lloyd's inability to get a date. But both of them thoroughly believe in each other's abilities and hold a great deal of respect for one another.
* WorldsStrongestMan: [[spoiler:Eventually gains the status and power of a legendary "Grandmaster" when Lloyd saves him from drowning by giving him his own mana. He can now sprout wings of pure mana, every cell in his body now acts as a mana circle, and he is theorized to be capable of slaying even Gods with his abilities. At this point, the number of individuals that can pose a threat to him can be counted on one hand and none of them are actually human.]]

Lloyd's father and head of the estate.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: A couple of the Episodes of the webcomic are entirely from his perspective.
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: He and his wife, especially when Lloyd gets involved in a dangerous situation. They will fuss and worry about him until he gets flustered.
* CharacterDeath: Arcos died in the original "Knight of Blood and Iron" novel where he and Marbella committed suicide after falling for a conman's scheme resulted in them losing their land and fortune. This doesn't happen in Lloyd's timeline where Suho Kim managed to save their land, and brought the conman to justice.
* GoodIsImpotent: He's acknowledged as a good, honest man which some of his people respect. However he's so trusting that he doesn't realize he's being manipulated or exploited by his Commanding Knight until Lloyd exposes the fraud. A lot of the massive debt that the Frontera Estate has accrued at the beginning of the story is implied to be the result of Arcos simply being too easy of a mark. [[GrewASpine He mostly outgrows this over time]], even showing signs of [[GoodIsNotNice becoming more ruthless like Lloyd with regards to their enemies]].
* HappilyMarried: He and Marbella are stated to still be quite in love with each other even after all these years and both of them believe that mutual happiness and love are a necessary component to marriage, even among nobility.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: A reverse example, as Arcos starts as a rather meek and mild mannered individual but develops some of Lloyd's more vindictive personality traits. He's still gentle and loving to his people and family, but those who previously looked down on him as a pushover are surprised to find he's developed some ruthless personality traits.
* OpenMindedParent: [[spoiler:As a ParentalSubstitute to Javier, his reaction to Javier returning home while wearing [[DisguisedInDrag his "Javiella" disguise]] is to hug him. He then earnestly comforts him over how hard it must have been to hide that side of him and that there's nothing wrong with being a little different. PlayedForLaughs as Javier's only dressing that way after losing a bet with Lloyd in the midst of a fierce battle. Naturally, [[{{Troll}} Lloyd]] laughs his ass off over this whole spectacle.]]
* ParentalSubstitute: The closest that Javier has to a father figure after the death of Javier's biological family.
* ParentsAsPeople: He and his wife truly love their children, but are also willing to accept that the OG!Lloyd's behavior was nothing short of shameful.

----
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Especially when Lloyd gets involved in a dangerous situation. She even made him a pink teddy bear for him to sleep with to scare away the nightmares, much to his dismay. [[MommasBoy He did take it though]].
* CharacterDeath: Marbella died in the original "Knight of Blood and Iron" novel where she and Arcos committed suicide after falling for a conman's scheme resulted in them losing their land and fortune. This doesn't happen in Lloyd's timeline where Suho Kim managed to save their land, and brought the conman to justice.
* GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak: Always presents as a proper noble lady but she has her moments:
** She boasts about being a better horse rider than her husband.
** She doesn't hesitate to fight monsters to save her people, stabbing a huge wolf monster with a dagger in one instance and [[ChairmanOfTheBrawl smashing a dog-sized locust with a chair]] in another.
** While Arcos balks at the idea of using the corpses of countless locust monsters that Lloyd had stored, Marbella simply crouches down and starts chomping on one. She already saw that the Orcs liked eating them and after trying one herself, she found that they taste like shrimp.
* HappilyMarried: Still quite in love with her husband even after decades of marriage and raising two adult children. In fact both she and her husband believe that love is an absolute must in a marriage.
* LikeFatherLikeSon: A bit of a reverse example similar to her husband Arcos. She initially marvels at the extravagant jewelry that Lloyd purchased from Asfahan. Then she turns around to Arcos with a devious grin, laughing smugly about selling them to overly vain nobles at a hefty markup.
* ParentsAsPeople: Greatly cares for her sons' well-being, but also recognized that the OG!Lloyd was a seriously flawed SpoiledBrat.
* SilkHidingSteel: Despite of her usual gentle demeanor, she is perfectly willing to engage in combat if the situation calls for it.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Julian Frontera]]
!!Julian Frontera

Lloyd's younger brother.
----
* BigBrotherWorship: Inverted initially. Due to the original Lloyd being a remorseless BigBrotherBully, Julian hates Lloyd and wishes he would get out of his life, so he rebukes the current Lloyd when they first meet and complains that Lloyd's assault of his bullies would only make his life harder. However, Lloyd helps build up Julian's confidence by having Julian participate in the suspension bridge project. Although he's bewildered by Lloyd's sudden change in character, Julian starts looking up to Lloyd for his actions and calls himself proud to be Lloyd's brother... before both of them instantly cringe at how sappy the moment is.
* BullyMagnet: Was this at the academy due to the Frontera's not being seen as a house of any repute, making it easy for others to torment him without reprisal. Even the teachers wouldn't intervene despite knowing of it because they'd rather get cozy with the bullies' richer parents.
* ClarkKentOutfit: When Scheherazade first sees him in the webcomic sitting by the roadside in his school uniform, she remarks upon how weak he seems and imagines him as a helpless bunny rabbit. Then he offers to help push a boulder off the road, taking off his shirt to reveal the muscular physique he developed after helping Lloyd construct a suspension bridge. Amusingly, the bunny in Scheherazade's imagination now has unfitting huge muscles.
* GeekPhysique: Julian is small, skinny, and bookish. He's smart enough to attend one of the finest schools in the capital, but his diminutive stature means that he's easy for cliques to bully. It's also mentioned that he found a sword too heavy to carry, making it impossible for Javier to teach him swordsmanship to defend himself. However, Lloyd has Julian participate in the laborious suspension bridge project, helping Julian build up his muscles and his confidence [[SubvertedTrope so this won't be a problem anymore.]]
* HappilyMarried: To [[spoiler:Princess Serajard of Asfahan.]]
* KilledOffscreen: His original fate in the "Knight of Blood and Iron" novel is to unceremoniously die in a ditch after being jumped by bandits in an alleyway. Due to Lloyd cleaning up corruption in the imperial capital and at the Academy, Julian is spared and becomes his school's finest pupil. He also marries [[spoiler:Serajard, Princess of Asfahan.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: He's the same age as Javier, but baby-faced and about half of Javier's height, making Julian look like a young teenager rather than someone in his early 20s.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Julian has a short stature in contrast to his [[StatesqueStunner wife.]]
* YouRemindMeOfX: Julian reminds Lloyd of his past life as Suho, as he too was bullied by others for being impoverished despite working hard and getting good grades.

[[folder: OG!Lloyd Frontera]]
!!OG!Lloyd Frontera

The original Lloyd Frontera before he was suplanted by Kim Suho.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: The original Lloyd had pretty much nothing good about him. He's a BigBrotherBully, TheAlcoholic, a violent drunkard, and someone who did nothing to help his family or his people. It's no wonder that he was universally hated. Even his own family wanted nothing to do with him. Even after Javier has pieced together that the current Lloyd is an entirely different person, it's clear that Javier has no real love toward the original Lloyd.
* TheAlcoholic: He spent most of his time drinking, even wasting the money that was supposed to be for his education on that and in the original novel he drank himself to death.
* TheAtoner: [[spoiler: After seeing how accomplished and hard-working Suho Kim in his body is and realizing that he did nothing in life except bring others misery, he's stunned into silence. When Suho gives him a chance to finally reincarnate, he vows to do better with his new life. Before leaving, he also asks Suho to apologize to Javier for him for breaking his wooden sword as a child.]]
* BadBoss: He harassed and abused the staff working on the Frontera mansion.
* BarredFromTheAfterlife: [[spoiler:A higher power gave Kim Suho his body and kicked him out of it. As far as the afterlife bureaucracy was concerned, he was considered to be neither alive nor dead. Since it was the first time such a thing had ever happened in this world and wasn't a thing expected to happen very often in the future either, the King of Hell decided to just keep him in Hell and prevent him from reincarnating until his body dies. After some heated arguments with Suho Kim in Lloyd's body, Suho finally helps give him a chance to.]]
* BeggarWithASignboard: Not so much the signboard part, but it's said in the original "Knight of Blood and Iron" novel that OG!Lloyd became a homeless and [[TheAlcoholic drunk]] beggar after a conman's scheme destroyed his family and fortune. That doesn't happen in Lloyd's timeline where OG!Lloyd's soul is instead sent off to Hell after Suho Kim took over his body.
* BigBrotherBully: He was particularly cruel with his younger brother, physically and verbally abusing him to the point that Julian is genuinely weirded out and suspicious when Lloyd doesn't immediately insult or hit him when he goes to visit him at the Academia, as one of the last conversations they had involved OG!Lloyd throwing a glass bottle at him that shattered and nicked him on the face.
* CharacterDeath: In the original "Knight of Blood and Iron" novel, OG!Lloyd [[TheAlcoholic drank]] himself to death after he was forced to become a [[BeggarWithASignboard beggar]] due to a conman's scheme that ruined his family and caused his parents to commit suicide. That doesn't happen in Lloyd's timeline where his body is taken over by Suho Kim, and the OG!Lloyd's soul is left as a wandering spirit until he's sent off to Hell.
* FlippingTheTable: Suho pictures OG!Lloyd as the kind of person who would angrily flip a table out of rejection when it comes to being asked to perform any sort of work.
* HateSink: He has no real redeeming qualities. He never helped his parents, was a BigBrotherBully to Julian, and had no empathy for his own subjects. Lloyd spent his days doing nothing but laze around and get himself drunk at the tavern. [[spoiler:Little wonder his soul ended up in Hell after Suho takes over his body.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: Very much so. Particularly egregious because he has no real reason for it beyond a general dissatisfaction with his life, mostly related to the fact that he's a noble of a tiny barony without anything much going on.
* WalkingSpoiler: It is revealed [[spoiler:in the end that the original Lloyd Frontera reincarnated as Kim Suho, who reincarnated as Lloyd Frontera again. In other words, Kim Suho is the original Lloyd Frontera's future self, and the two souls are actually the same.]]

[[folder:Bayern]]
!!Sir Bayern

The oldest knight of the Frontera estate.
----
* ButtMonkey: Poor guy gets a ringing headache every time Lloyd schemes about all the work he plans on making Bayern do or employeeing Bayern for the next few decades after getting enough money to pay him long enough.
* CutenessProximity: His dignified demeanor disappears entirely when he's playing with some baby Mastadon monsters seperated from their mothers. When Lloyd notes that Mastadons usually become more fierce as they grow up and that raising them will undoubtedly be difficult, Bayern insists that he won't have any trouble with them simply because they are cute.
* TheEveryman: Despite being a knight, comes across as this. He is not a particularly strong fighter (especially compared to the other monster fighters in the series), is average enough in appearance for an early middle aged man, and doesn't come from a particularly noteworthy or illustrious noble lineage. However he is a hard worker and typically is the one who deals with the day to day problems of the estate.
* FlashStep: Despite lacking in combat skill, he's capable of moving "as fast as the wind" which is presumably [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower a result of all the physical work]] all Frontera estate knights perform as Lloyd's construction crew.
* HiddenDepths: As a knight, his swordsman skills are slightly below average at best, but it turns out that he actually has an incredible talent for logistics and project management. Lloyd believes that if Bayer had been born in Korea, he could have easily been the managing director of a large corporation.
* TheReliableOne: Lloyd trusts him to manage all of his projects whenever he's not around. Upon realizing how skilled he is, Lloyd realizes he needs to pay him more while also giving him more work to oversee.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Neumann]]
!!Sir Neumann

The Senior knight of the Frontera estate (prior to his exile).
----
* EvilAllAlong: While to the reader he's a StarterVillain, in the in-universe novel "Knight of Blood and Iron", Javier doesn't learn of Neumann's betrayal until well after the damage is done and [[KarmaHoudini Sir Neumann is long gone.]] With Suho Kim taking over the Hooligan Lloyd Frontera's body, Sir Neumann is the only real bad apple working on the estate which necessitates removing him early on.
* HumiliationConga: His duel with Lloyd ends with the knight losing a tooth after three nasty smacks to the face with a shovel in succession. After being declared the loser in a duel against the Frontera estate's infamous low-life, Lloyd continues [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown beating the daylights out of him,]] making sure to strike and injure every part of his body. When Baron Arcos protests this treatment of their knight, Lloyd reveals all the letters and correspondances detailing his shady dealings and the information he's been secretly selling so that con-men can drain the barony of all their money. Knowing that the Baron would be too kind to punish Neumann as he deserves, Lloyd offers to instead decide the knight's fate by [[ExactWords "dropping a vicious mouse on his head".]] If the mouse hurts him, he will be exiled and if not, he will be demoted to a foot-soldier and given a chance to repent. Naturally, he instead tosses his Summon Ppodong high into the air, has it shift into his huge 15 ft tall form, and crush the disloyal before having him exiled.
* TheMole: The only Knight of the estate to betray the Baron and run in "Knight of Blood and Iron". Turns out, he's the one who's been selling the Frontera estate's information to con-men and is part of the reason why the Barony is in debt in the first place.
* StarterVillain: The first antagonist that Lloyd personally confronts overcomes by challenging him to a duel. As a proper Sword Expert with a Mana Heart, Neumann poses a threat but with some sword and mana training from Javier and careful application of personal skills, Lloyd prevails before having the disloyal exiled.

!Lloyd's Summons

[[folder: Tropes that apply to all of them]]

Special familiars that Lloyd receives via the system's gacha function. They usually serve as improvised construction machines, but are also often serving as back up in battle, especially if Javier is not around.
----
* EarlyBirdCameo: [[FirstEpisodeSpoiler They are all shown in the very first chapter]], dozens of episode before most of them are actually summoned.
* ElementalPowers: Upon closer look, one can tell that Lloyd's four summons that he got from the System are themed around the four primary elements. Ppodong is an earth hamster that digs and throws around dirt. Bangul is a fire snake that forges hot steel beams from its poop, and shoots fire. Hamang is a water hippo that can suck up water and shoot it. Ggoming is a bird, and while it doesn't have any wind-based skills, being a bird that can fly is usually associated with the air element.
* GentleGiant: Unless they are currently engaging in combat, they are very docile in their giant forms and are easy to work with.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: Rare Heroic Example. By consuming special seeds, they can temporarily grow to outrageous size. Usually used for construction work, but is obliviously practical for battle as well.
* NewFriendEnvy: When Lloyd starts relying heavily on his new pet Bone Dragon "Draggy" [[ItMakesSenseInContext for some construction work in Hell]], all of his Summons with the exception of [[LazyBum Ggoming]] start to become resentful, obviously feeling like they've been replaced. Thankfully it's all resolved when they confront the Bone Dragon and learn that Draggy's affectionate like an overgrown puppy. They spend some time playing with him, bonding with the undead dragon very quickly.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: After Lloyd apologizes for neglecting their needs and treating them as living machinery, his relationship status with the team grows, resulting in them gaining new abilities once he invests more RP into them. Bangul gains the ability to excrete volcanic ash, allowing her to provide the last remaining ingredient needed to make Roman concrete.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: All of them are small, adorable animals in their default forms.
* SmugSmiler: They sometimes get a smug look on their faces at times when it comes to their jobs, especially when Lloyd doubts them.
* ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman: Usually summoned when Lloyd needs a surogate for a specific construction machine, but then they tend to gain additional niches.
* TrueCompanions: To the point that they are willing to go on a strike if one of their own is too exhausted or otherwise troubled from work. They also provide emotional support to each other.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ppodong]]
!!Ppodong

A hamster-like Summoned Creature and the first one that Lloyd summons.
----
* BareFistedMonk: PlayedForLaughs. He apparently knows some rather flowery martial arts techniques which he displays with gusto against a horde of zombie mastadons. Lloyd is utterly dumbfounded by all this, wondering what the hell Ppodong's been watching.
* DishingOutDirt: Usually used for digging and otherwise reshaping soil.
* TheLeader: Seemingly the default leader of Lloyd's Summoned Creatures, presumably due to being his first summon.
* RodentsOfUnusualSize: A hamster who is Lloyd's first summon and the one who showcases the gigantification ability of his fellow Summoned Creatures.
* ScareEmStraight: When Ggoming's lazy attitude and disrespect for Lloyd and Ppodong [[BewareTheNiceOnes gets too much,]] Ppodong opts to gigantify and nearly swallows Ggoming whole until he agrees to work harder from now on. At which point [[AntiHero Lloyd]] and [[UncattyResemblance Ppodong]] then share a SlasherSmile.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bangul]]
!!Bangul

A cutesy snake-like Summoned Creature. Lloyd's second summon.
----
* DungFu: Her main ability is to eat dirt, then process it into either steel or volcanic ash... and then fire them by pooping. The Volcanic Ash variant is pretty useful as a weaponized volcanic eruption but it's primary used to generate materials needed for durable Roman-style concrete.
* HoneyTrap: Lloyd exploits Bibeong's attraction to her in order to recruit him to their side but thinks she doesn't actually love him. While she never gives any indication whether or not she truly reciprocates Bibeong's feelings, she certainly doesn't hesitate to cheer him on every time he works hard for Lloyd.
* PinkMeansFeminine The sole female among Lloyd's summons and has pink skin.
* ReptilesAreAbhorrent: Inverted. Despite of being based on a snake, she is rather friendly and adorable.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Lloyd's only female Summoned Creature.
* TertiarySexualCharacteristics: Wears a cutesy bow on her head and a tiny bell on her tail and is Lloyd's sole female Summon.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Hamang]]
!!Hamang

A hippo-like Summoned Creature. Lloyd's third summon.
----
* HuggyHuggyHippos: Resembles a hippopotamus and is possibly the jolliest among Lloyd's summons.
* MakingASplash: His ability is the drink a huge amount of water in one sitting and then releasing it elsewhere. Needless to say, this makes him incredibly useful for farming. It also works as an effective attack against an incredibly dangerous swarm of giant locust monsters.
* {{Sizeshifter}}: What sets him apart from his fellow summons is that he excpilicitly can't use the red and blue seeds to change size. At first, Lloyd assumed that he wouldn't be a helpful summon and nearly dismissed him outright. At Ppodong and Bangul's insistence, he watched Hamang use his water storing abilities and realized that Hamang can still grow gigantic as his size changes based on how much water he drinks.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Ggoming]]
!!Ggoming

The last of Lloyd's summons. [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer A bird that carries a small backpack from which he shoots spiderweb.]]
----
* AwesomeBackpack: It fires spider-like web that's durable enough to be plenty useful as sturdy cables for construction work.
* BrilliantButLazy: His most notable character trait is that while effective at work, he is incredibly lazy and apathetic.
* DrearyHalfLiddedEyes: Emphasizing his bored, lackadaisical personality.
* DungFu: Can let loose a volley of bird poop as a distraction in a scuffle though he doesn't like doing it as he finds it embarassing.
* InformedSpecies: Is most similar to a long-tailed tit, yet officially called a crow-tit.
* LazyBum: The most glaring flaw that sets him apart from all of other Summoned Creatures is that he prefers to not get involved in work at all, even in a life-or-death situation.
* LostInTranslation: The above entry in InformedSpecies is seemingly caused by a very specific case of mistranslation due to numerous context-specific factors.
* ProjectileWebbing: His main weapon is the sticky web he shoots from his backpack.
* XMarksTheHero: Has an X-shaped mark on his cheek though its downplayed as his laziness initially held him back from being as helpful as the other Summons.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Bibeong]]
!!Bibeong

A giant beaver responsible for the creation of Lake Kapua. Prior to Lloyd taking him under his wing, Bibeong was known as the legendary beast King Storma.
----
* TheBigGuy: He can grow much larger than the other Summons which means he handles the most heavy-lifting. He's also pretty rambunctious and aggressive though bonding with Bangul and even Lloyd seems to have softened him up a decent bit.
* BusyBeaver: More than anything, Bibeong is fixated on repairing his dam whenever it's broken. Once he's conscripted into Lloyd's team, he effectively acts as a living crane thanks to his more robust size-increasing skills... with some sufficient motivation by Bangul that is.
* HopelessSuitor: Lloyd at least seems to think that Bibeong's attraction to Bangul is completely one-sided on his end. Initially [[SlasherSmile Lloyd revels]] at how the legendary beast is being exploited for love and will probably remain alone forever. Then Lloyd realizes that he himself is probably [[NightmareFace never going to experience love either.]] This pushes him to hug Bibeong out of sympathy which actually leads to the two sharing a tender moment.
* LoveAtFirstSight: Falls in love with Bangul the moment he sees her for the very first time.
* SixthRanger: Was NOT summoned by Lloyd like the others, but is functionally serving the same role as any of them and is even capable of using the blue and red sunflower seeds to alter his size.

[[folder:Queen Alicia Termina Magentano]]
!!Alicia Termina Magentano

The incumbent queen regnant of the Magentano kingdom, who resides in the royal capital of Magenta.
----
* BatmanGambit: Out of all the characters, she probably understands Lloyd's character, mindset, and modus operandi best. She figures that if she forces him to act as a foreign diplomat to Asfahan on behalf of Magenta, [[InelegantBlubbering he would initially throw a childish fit]]. However, [[LaboriousLaziness his desperation to return back home to live a peaceful, lazy life would then drive him to be all the more effective]] in improvising an effective plan to negotiate a splendid deal with the uncooperative neighboring kingdom. She is proven right.
* BenevolentBoss: Lloyd views Alicia as the greatest obstacle in his dream to achieve a rich, unemployed life in the countryside. Although the queen is strict and demanding towards Lloyd, she does appreciate his achievements and reward him generously. She promptly fulfils all his requests related to work, no matter how strange they sound, and provides him with all necessary resources for his projects.
* BigGood: The closest thing the story has to this, being Lloyd's superior and his main benefactor. Ironically, in the original novel's story she was part of the BigBadEnsemble.
* TheChainsOfCommanding: Alicia is always seen doing paperwork or training when she is not holding court. She is often stressed from work, which is one of the reasons she wants a competent and trustworthy person like Lloyd by her side to ease her workload.
* {{Curse}}: [[spoiler:The reason for Alicia's FaceHeelTurn in the novel was only minimally caused by trauma of betrayal. It was mostly caused by a curse embedded in the poison, designed to magnify the worst aspects of her personality.]]
* DarkAndTroubledPast: It is implied that Alicia had a happy childhood and was close to her brothers and parents. It all changed when [[spoiler:Alicia found out her [[SelfMadeOrphan brothers murdered their parents]] and were planning to [[SiblingMurder kill her]] as well to claim the throne. Alicia killed her brothers and ascended the throne, but since then she has been cold and aloof to all. It is only recently that she starts developing a soft spot for Lloyd.]]
* FaceHeelTurn: Alicia is a magnanimous, just queen who wishes the best for her people. But in the original timeline, she suffers SanitySlippage from being nearly assassinated by someone close, turning her into the "Dark Queen". [[spoiler:Lloyd and Javier foiling this attempt on her life saves her sanity and her idealism, preventing this from happening.]]
* FieryRedhead: She is a woman with red hair and a dominating presence.
* TheHighQueen: She does care for her subjects and attempts to strive to be this for them. In the novel's plot, she turned into a tyrant after she was nearly assassinated and lost her left arm in the process. At present, she is seen as a tough, no-nonsense ruler with the highest authority.
* MasterSwordsman: She's one of the two known swordmasters in the setting along with her NumberTwo, Sir Kyle.
* MsFanservice: A charismatic, red-haired StatuesqueStunner.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Although Alicia acquits herself as a dignified monarch, she enjoys teasing Lloyd and making things a bit hard for him. That said, the queen does care for Lloyd and will personally protect him from danger.
* RankScalesWithAsskicking: She is the queen and one of the strongest sword masters of the story. She sometimes leads military campaigns and does not hesitate to get into the thick of action.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: She's strict, but benevolent. In the original novel, however, a tragedy twists her into TheCaligula.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Perfectly ready to [[FrontlineGeneral personally participate in battle]] and use her political power to help the people.
* SanitySlippage: [[spoiler:Lloyd and Javier's intervention prevents her from going mad all at once, but doesn't stop it, with her slowly but surely feeling more paranoid and more ruthless, even as she tries to talk herself out of it. She is also divided between a paranoid need to kill Lloyd for the threat he poses and being desperate for his support as a LivingEmotionalCrutch.]]
* ToughLeaderFacade: Her default public image.
* {{Tsundere}}: She is strict and professional towards Lloyd, viewing him as a talented subject she wants by her side. [[spoiler:She does have a soft spot for Lloyd, which develops into a crush.]]
* WorfHadTheFlu: Her debut arc has her greatly weakened by poison, with Javier and Lloyd barely saving the day.
* TheWorseningCurseMark: [[spoiler:Her descent into villainy as the "Dark Queen" in the original novel wasn't just caused by the trauma of betrayal, it was also caused by a side-effect of the poison itself, even after she forced most of it out of her body. In the new timeline, Lloyd and Javier's intervention reduces the effects and slows them down, but does not actually stop them. Her paranoia and ruthlessness become stronger, to the point that they are starting to overtake the positive aspects of her personality. Over time, more and more of her skin withers into splotches. However, Alicia is able to overcome the poison after some advice from Lloyd.]]

!Other Nobles

[[folder:Lacona]]
!!Viscount Lacona

Viscount Lacona debuts as a minor antagonist, trying to seize the farmland that Lloyd had just revitalized. Later on he becomes the primary ButtMonkey of the story.
----
* AristocratsAreEvil: Ironically downplayed for the most part. In a world where necromancers, warlords and evil conspiracies run amok, he is one of the least evil villains, mostly focusing on generic down-to-earth goals, such as [[OpportunisticBastard securing a large swath of farmable land after someone else did the hard work of rejuvenating it]].
* ButtMonkey: Ends up being the most frequent AssholeVictim of Lloyd's shenanigans following his failure to seize the farmland.
* DastardlyWhiplash: His mustache screams 'bad guy'.
* GagNose: His large nose is almost as prominent as his mustache.
* {{Jerkass}}: Even before coming into Lloyd's life, he had a history of mocking Arcos Frontera to his face for being poor or rudely ignoring him in at parties.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: He spent years doing mostly OffScreenVillainy and was completely unimpeded until he ran into Lloyd, and has since become a borderline CosmicPlaything.
* UpperClassTwit: Downplayed. He is of average intelligence, but he was running his schemes pretty competently for most of his life, up until Lloyd came into the equation.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Diego Lacona]]
!!Diego Lacona

The son of Viscount Lacona and Julian's bully.
----
* TheBully: Relentlessly bullied Julian until Lloyd gave him a well-deserved smackdown.
* ConflictKiller: Lloyd's inability to gain Julian's trust is quickly alleviated once he learns of Diego's bullying of Julian; he subsequently delivers Diego a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown, starting by delivering him a BitchSlap that [[NotHyperbole literally]] wipes the floor with him.
* GagNose: One easy way of telling he and Viscount Lacona are related.
* GenerationXerox: He bullies Julian. His father exploits and pressures Julian's father. Both of them end up suffering from Lloyd's wrath because of it.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Lloyd makes sure that Diego suffers greatly for all the bullying he subjected Julian to. When he later comes across Julian coercing two workers on his family land into beating each other up for idle amusement otherwise their families might starve, he immediately asks if he can join in, using his own noble status to pummel Julian as fellow nobles of higher standing (the other option being having Diego fight [[MasterSwordsman Javier]], and makes sure to include this incident as an example of his behaviour whilst sending an appeal for Diego to rejoin the royal academy as a "favour" to his father.
[[/folder]]

!Asfahan
[[folder:General Tropes]]
A large country that actively participates in international affairs.
----
* FantasyCounterpartCulture: A mix of medieval Persia, India and Turkey.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Samarkand]]
The ruler of Asfahan.
----
* OutGambitted: Twice by Lloyd.
** His plan to use wild animals to weaken Magentano without actually attacking with his army backfires spectacularly when Lloyd not only repels them, but also redirects them back to where they came from.
** Lloyd spends practically the entirety of the Asfahan arc outmaneuvering and humiliating him.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Serajard]]
The daughter of Samarkand and a swordsmanship prodigy.
----
* PrettyPrincessPowerhouse: A beautiful princess with great talent in combat.
[[/folder]]

!Others
[[folder:The System]]

An enigmatic entity that oversees Kim Suho's second life as Lloyd Frontera. It is also responsible for providing Lloyd with the Summoned Creatures.
----
* AdaptationalComicRelief: Constantly makes fun of Lloyd and provides him with a banter partner in the webcomic, in contrast with the webnovel where it has no dialogue and just provides useful info.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: The system has much more personality in the webcomic than it does in the webnovel. Whereas in the webnovel the system is very impersonal and limits itself to informing Lloyd of the most basic facts, in the webcomic it turns into a character in itself, teasing and chatting with Lloyd constantly, even in moments when it has no need to show itself.
* AllPowerfulBystander:
** The powers it bestows on Lloyd via the RP system eventually allow him a degree of reality-altering powers, such as summoning his familiars despite lacking any skill with the magic, getting physically stronger whenever he wields a shovel, or [[spoiler:allowing others to see the holographic displays of his design projects in order to more efficiently construct without his oversight, and even creating holographic simulations of his NightmareFace to berate them for screwing up]]. Using this even allows Lloyd to [[InstantExpert instantly level up the circles of the Asrahan Core technique in minutes]] when it would take Javier months of training to do the same. However, it cannot aid Lloyd out with that, and requires his input and decisions on how to spend his RP without being able to influence his choices.
** [[spoiler:During the fight against the Hell Knight, it transpires that this seems to be a binding clause affecting the system in exchange for the powers and abilities it grants Lloyd. It asks an unseen presence to invoke "Article 37, Clause 1 of the messenger contract", which allows it to subvert this only once to the being it's in charge of. When said being grants permission, it advises Lloyd, using his arms and legs to grapple with the handicapped Hell Knight, to use his DreadfulMusician voice to attack the knight whilst keeping it pinned down. This physically pains the Knight long enough for Javier to help Lloyd defeat it]].
* FlashyTeleportation: How its summoning mechanic manifests itself.
* TheGenieKnowsJackNicholson: Well it definitely knows enough to understand and play off of Lloyd referencing {{Franchise/Pokemon}}.
* NonstandardSkillLearning: Grants several of these to Lloyd over the course of the story.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: It is a servant of a higher power and is occassionaly referred to as a "Messenger".
* {{Troll}}: Will mock or otherwise ridicule Lloyd anytime the chance presents itself.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Tordes]]

A ConMan who happens to be the reason the Frontera estate is in debt.
----
* ButtMonkey: After he becomes a debt slave, Lloyd occasionally takes the opportunity to make sadistic fun of him.
** In one instance, Lloyd cheerfully informs him that it won't be a problem for him to work off the debt since he will be raised as an undead after his natural lifespan is used up.
** On another occasion, Lloyd gives him the chance to work off the debt all at once... by sacrificing his life to open up an underground water channel.
* ConMan: He makes a living by cheating gullible marks. In both timelines, he set the story in motion by defrauding the incompetent Frontera head in a real estate deal.
* IndenturedServitude: He lost most of the money he stole gambling. When Lloyd manages to capture him, he gives him the choice of being executed in court or working for the Frontera territory for the next few centuries with a huge salary deduction.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Lupellan]]

A sorcerer obsessed with avenging the death of his wife and son, as well as bringing them back via necromancy.
----
* TheFarmerAndTheViper: In the original novel, despite Javier giving him a chance to start anew, Lupellan instead continued to antagonize Javier and further loses his humanity due to constant body modifications.
* FreudianExcuseIsNoExcuse: The tragic loss of his family in no way justifies any of the evil he has commited since.
* KilledOffForReal: Lloyd makes sure that Lupellan dies specifically because the events of the original novel (where Javier spared him) have shown that Lupellan is too far gone and would just continue with his madness until someone finally ends him once and for all.
* {{Necromantic}}: Practices necromancy in hopes of someday resurrecting his deceased loved ones.
