* GreaseMonkey: Aiden enjoys messing with machines and has a part time job as a mechanic.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: Aiden is blonde and a genuinely nice guy.
* InnocentBigot: Aiden does have some ‘issues’ with LGBTQ people and Muslims, but it comes more from a lack of awareness and knowledge than hatred. He quickly works on trying to gain awareness when it isolates him from his two closest friends.
* InnocentBlueEyes: As one of the youngest contestants, Aiden is naive yet has blue eyes.
* LovableJock: Aiden is an avid fan and player of baseball and a rather nice guy.

* NiceGuy: Aiden is polite to everyone and supportive of his teammates, such as helping Melissa give out food to the homeless.
* PatrioticFervor: Aiden admits America had and still has issues and doesn’t hate foreigners but still loves America. Enough to cry at the sight of all of Washington D.C.'s monuments. Everyday.
* PoliticallyIncorrectHero: Aiden at first has issues with Muslim people because but is a nice, well-meaning guy. He ultimately tries to gain a better understanding of both Muslims and gay people, as his issues are from both personal problems and a lack of awareness.
* ScoutOut: Aiden’s bio indicates he’s a member of the Boy Scouts.
* ShipTease: Aiden and Melissa seem attracted to each other.
* TragicBigot: His mother’s death is part of the reason he has issues with Muslims, as she was killed by Islamic extremists.

!!Bethany
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bethany_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:60:The All Star]]

* BrokenAce: Bethany is a physically strong player, tall and athletic, and a pleasant person to be around into the bargain, but she also beats herself up when she loses because she feels intense pressure to measure up to the standards of her wildly successful family.
* ChekhovsHobby: Bethany’s main sport is shot put; guess what her trial revolves around? The first two don’t count.
* CompetitionFreak: Bethany enjoys and is excited for competition. Her family is implied to be highly competitive.
* DecoyProtagonist: Bethany gets a fair amount of focus when we meet the contestants and WordOfGod says her biography was meant to seem like she would be the main character. She’s the first contestant eliminated.
* HiddenDepths: Bethany is actually more insecure than the confident jock she appears to be.
* HugeSchoolgirl: Bethany is the tallest contestant on the show yet still in high school.
* LovableJock: Bethany is pretty nice and kind to everyone while also being a basketball and track star.
* NonGameplayElimination: As a reward for winning the first challenge, the Fireworks got to vote off someone from the Eagles. They chose Bethany.
* NumerologicalMotif: The number one is a recurring motif for Bethany; Bethany’s jersey is numbered one and she’s the first contestant we meet. She’s also first person to go home.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Xidorn is a shorter guy and Bethany while Bethany is the tallest character on the show.
* ParentalIssues: Bethany is implied to have some with her parents and their high expectations of her.
* RedIsHeroic: Bethany’s signature color is red, while she herself is friendly, kind and ready for a competition. It contributes to her false protagonist image.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Ironically she's the only good person in the Good Guy’s Alliance; Vance is a jerk while Pascal and Kalino are villains. Bethany is the most reluctant to join and only does after being convinced it’s for good.
* TwentiesBobHaircut: Her hair is styled in a bob cut.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Downplayed. Despite being voted off first, Bethany does get fair screen time in three episodes and we found out some about her past life.

!!Cynthia
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cynthia_for_rhonda_4.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Sociopath]]
* AmbiguouslyEvil: While Cynthia hasn’t done anything evil to anyone, her eerie and violent nature is frightening…
* BadPeopleAbuseAnimals: Cynthia has chopped off snake's head with a knife and massacred fish with a chainsaw, and is feared and scary. Subverted in that despite abusing animals and seeming bad, she hasn't done anything bad to any person. She's actually a close friend to Melissa and a supportive girlfriend to Weston.
* BewareTheQuietOnes: Cynthia hardly speaks and doesn't even speak till the third episode. She's still threatening even when not speaking.
* ChainsawGood: Cynthia carries a chainsaw in her backpack and her talent is described as ‘chainsaw wielding’.
* CreepyChild: Cynthia has a somewhat young appearance to her yet rarely speaks, never blinks and carries knives on her.
* CreepyMonotone: She speaks in with no emotion, creeping everyone out.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Cynthia has white hair and virtually all-white eyes to emphasized her macabre and uncanny nature.

* FluffyTheTerrible: Cynthia isn’t really scary name, but that doesn’t stop the mere mention of it to freak everyone out.
* KillerRabbit: Cynthia seems nonthreatening, looking like an ordinary at first. Even when you notice her eerie appearance, she is still a short teenage girl. A short teenage girl who can wields knives.
* LikeFatherUnlikeSon: Cynthia's mother shows up last minute at the loved ones visit and is...is cheery, kind and, always smiling. She even sings. Cynthia's mom seems more like [[NiceGirl Melissa]] than her actual daughter.
* ObviouslyEvil: Subverted; Cynthia is very creepy, deadly and many expect the worst out of her...yet she never does anything evil and acts as a good friend to Melissa and Weston.
* OddFriendship: Cynthia is silent, violent and creepy while Melissa is friendly, cheery and kindhearted. Yet Melissa genuinely considers Cynthia her best friend and Cynthia does seem to genuinely like and care for Melissa.
* PintsizedPowerhouse: Cynthia tends to act as the muscle or powerhouse for the Molting Eagles, using her skills with knifes and chainsaws instead of raw muscle. She fights off most the Invaders in the alien invasion challenge, and the only one who can 'catch' the fish in the seven deadliest fish challenge...by slicing them with a chainsaw.
* PsychoKnifeNut: Cynthia carries and constantly sharpens knives. She even uses them to cut open a snake and later a robot.
* SchoolUniformsAreTheNewBlack: Cynthia’s outfit is described as like a school uniform despite the story taking place in summer.
* TheStoic: Cynthia hasn’t smiled…or shown any emotion.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: Cynthia’s hair is white despite her young age, and while not a villain she’s not exactly nice...

!!Diamonique
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/diamonique_for_rhonda.png]]

* BrilliantButLazy: Diamonique’s psychiatrist thinks she could get a career in the field of science if she applied herself, but Diamonique doesn’t care to.
* ChildhoodBrainDamage: It's implied her treatment in foster care during her early childhood before being adopted is the cause of Diamonique’s varying intelligence and memory issues.

* FaceHeelTurn: After returning at the merge Diamonique acts noticeably eviler, voting off Cynthia despite being alliance members and friends because it will benefit her.
* TheFashionista: Implied, given Diamonique's trendy outfit and her shopping before arriving to the show.
* GenreSavvy: Diamonique guesses the Fireworks won’t target her or Frannie because of their [[PluckyComicRelief silly nature]]. She also says for that same reason, their own team may vote them off.
* HiddenDepths: Diamonique appears to be a spoiled rich ditz, but is actually more aware and has high intelligence.

* WeHardlyKnewYou: Downplayed. Despite being the second out, Diamonique gets a fair amount of screentime and we know more about her backstory. Subverted when she returns at the merge.

!!Frannie
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/frannie_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Circus Act]]
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and Diamonique are both ditzy, guy crazy but also concerned with their fate in the game. Similarly, Frannie and Kalino are both jokesters with a similar love of video games and references.
* CartoonJuggling: One of Frannie’s talents is juggling, naturally being a clown.
* CircusBrat: Frannie was [[TheShowMustGoOn born during a circus performance]] and has lived with the circus her whole life.

* TheDitz: Frannie has her moments, such as accidentally electrocuting herself.
* {{Expy}}: Frannie bares many resemblances to a character from the author's previous work named Julie who is herself based on the [[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama canon]] character of Izzy, making Frannie the {{Expy}} of an {{Expy}}.
* FourthWallObserver: Frannie seems to be the only contestant aware she's in a fanfiction and pokes fun of the nature of the work.
* TheFreakshow: According to her bio, Frannie’s circus has a freak show of strange carnies, but they’re pretty nice.
* GirlsWithMustaches: Frannie’s mother is a bearded lady. Frannie wears a fake mustache as well.
* HiddenDepths: While Frannie seems to be just comic relief, she is actually aware of how people perceive her as fodder, and very concerned about the future of her circus and its fate if she fails at the show.

!!Hayden
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haydenforrhonda_1.png]]
[[caption-width-right:73:The Big Brother]]

* BigBrotherMentor: Acts as a mentor and big brother to Aiden and tries to with the rest of his team.
* TheLeader: Acts as the leader for the Molting Eagles during the first challenge and continues the role for future challengers. Kalino uses this to put the blame on Hayden for losing the challenge.
* NotSoAboveItAll: There are instances where he can be irrational, such as being overly excited for alien hunting or be overly protective.
* OddFriendship: With Jenny. While Hayden is a character who often acts much older than his age, Jenny acts much more childish than someone her age. Despite this, Jenny and Hayden get along well enough, Jenny clearly favoring him out of the newbies.
* OlderAndWiser: Because he's the oldest contestant, he believes himself to be wiser. Many of the other contestants debate this though.
* OnlySaneMan: Tends to be a voice of reason in regards to his wackier teammates.
* TheRival: Vance and Hayden form a rivalry early on after butting heads during the water skiing challenge. Hayden finds Vance to be a jerk, while Vance doesn't appreciate being bossed around. It culminates in pushing for the other to be eliminated.
* TheShrink: Hayden’s intended major is psychology, and often applies what he learns to his life. In one instance, Hayden does mental evaluations of his teammates to see the psychological effects of the show on teens.
* StraightGay: Hayden’s a pretty average and masculine guy. He also is in a serious relationship with his boyfriend. Has some elements of ManlyGay as well, given his interest hunting.
* StudentCouncilPresident: Hayden was president of his high school before graduating.
* TokenAdult: As the only contestant stated to be eighteen and have graduated high school, Hayden believes himself to be the only adult among his peers. However he’s close in age to all of the cast and while technically an adult is still young. Many of his fellow contestants don't seem him as an adult.

!!Kalino
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kalino4rhonda.png]]

* EyesAlwaysShut: Is described and drawn with this style of eyes. We've yet to see his pupils.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Kalino has this dynamic with his older sister. Kalino doesn’t fit the usual naïve nature of the foolish sibling however.

* TheHedonist: Kalino’s seems to have elements of this philosophy, believing people should focus what they enjoy.
* KnightOfCerebus: The story's early chapters are dominated by over-the-top comedy, in which Kalino participates as much as anyone; but when he [[TheBigBadShuffle eventually emerges]] as the main antagonist, the story assumes a more dramatic tone, as does Kalino himself.
* MellowFellow: He's rather calm fellow who personally doesn't believe in getting worked up.
* MistakenNationality: While not nationality, Frannie does assume Kalino’s from Hawaii. He’s from Nebraska.

* TheSlacker: His label and overall character; he enjoys taking naps and doesn't try too hard in anything.

* SurferDude: Has the appearance and speech pattern of a surfer dude. Mentions going surfing.

!!Melissa
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/melissa_for_rhonda.png]]

* AchillesHeel: Melissa has a very weak stomach, which costs her a few challenges that require eating disgusting foods.
* AllLovingHero: Melissa is kind and thoughtful to everyone. Even Cynthia. Heck she even feels sympathy for ‘aliens’ that are trying to kidnap her.

* BlitheSpirit: Melissa could be considered this; having no idea she joined a reality show and not acting very competitive.
* BreakTheCutie: Played with. Several times Melissa gets depressed or stressed because the nature of reality TV goes against her kind nature, and even her sister tells her she's too nice. At the end however, she doesn't regret being nice and continues to be kind.
* ComfortFood: Played with. She finds comfort not in eating food, but making it.
* TheCutie: Melissa baked snickerdoodles for the other contestants upon her arrival and continues to be even more friendly and kind from there.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: Melissa is rather feminine and she can definitely bake.
* GirlishPigtails: Sports, short curly ones.
* GirlyGirl: Melissa is rather feminine. Though she’s not obsessed with looks as much as characters usually in this trope.

* GoodSamaritan: Melissa supports various charities to try and help as many people as possible.
* TheIdealist: Melissa thinks there is good in most everyone and everything. She even views Cynthia's destructive nature as positive and what makes Cynthia special.

* {{Nice G|uy}}irl: Her character is a bleeding heart for any charity or cause.
-->'''Melissa:''' I’m helping a orphanage of deaf children form a chorus for a fundraiser, that way they can accomplish two dreams; becoming a singer and becoming a member of a family.
* OddFriendship: With Cynthia. Melissa seems to genuinely like and think the best of Cynthia, despite Cynthia being...[[TheDreaded well]]...
* PestController: [[FriendToAllLivingThings After raising and releasing baby cockroaches]], Melissa later meets them again and their new families...who form a giant army of cockroaches that will obey her command.
* PinkMeansFeminine: Melissa’s primary color is pink and she is rather feminine, enjoying baking, singing and love.

* ShipTease: With Aiden, right from their first meeting.
* SiblingYinYang: We meet Melissa's younger sister Beatrice during the loved ones visit, who is cynical and gothic in contrast to Melissa's optimistic and peppy attitude.
* SickeninglySweethearts: Once she and Aiden start dating, they have this sort of dynamic going on. Melissa more so, with the pet names she gives to Aiden, like "sweet boobear" or "shmoopy puppykins".
* SupremeChef: Or at least baker; everyone seems to enjoy Melissa’s baked goods.
* SweetTooth: Melissa loves making sweets and is only seen baking pastries.
* TheWorldIsJustAwesome: Melissa tends to think the best of the world.

!!Vance

* BigEater: He devours a lot of Melissa’s sweets.
* ButtMonkey: Has moments of bad things happening to him, like leaning against wet paint or losing the fighting challenge.
* {{Cowboy}}: Vance works at a rodeo, but hasn’t lived the cowboy life. He pretends he is cowboy though and tries to invoke the image, having a cowboy hat and entering on a horse.
* FieryRedhead: Vance is a pretty passionate guy and has the red hair to match.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Vance doesn’t always realize how he comes across to others and how it offends them.

* LiteralMinded: When there is fear of a serial killer being in the hotel, Lita is concerned about being murdered. Vance is concerned about their breakfast being in danger.
* PaperTiger: In theory, Vance seems like a tough guy whose strength would come in handy, but he merely got lucky in the only challenge he really helped his team win.
* TheRival: Forms one with Hayden after butting heads during a challenge. Hayden doesn't care for Vance's rude behavior, while Vance doesn't appreciate being bossed around.
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Vance has red hair, green eyes and is a contestant so he qualifies.
* WhiteStallion: Rides in on a white horse.

!!Weston
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/weston_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Younger Twin]]
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: While not that much younger, Weston is [[ManipulativeEditing convinced]] Easton seems him as this and in some respects can be viewed as this to Easton.
* BigBrotherWorship: Weston clearly thinks highly of his brother and follows his lead...until they have a falling out.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Weston is not the smartest, but after marathoning enough detective shows he [[GenreSavvy understands how they work well enough]] to be a competent detective.
* TheDitz: Weston is not the brightest crayon in the box.
* {{Fanboy}}: Of horror movies and movie monsters. It leads to him bonding with Xidorn and comes into play in a few challenges.
* InformedAbility: Weston is supposedly a great player on his school’s track team but gets beaten by Tessa in a race offscreen, which makes that fact come off as false.
* ObliviousYoungerSibling: While not that younger, Weston isn’t as aware of how he comes off, how Easton feels or how his tagging along with Easton might hurt him in the game.
* OppositesAttract: Weston is a friendly, ditzy, fun loving guy. Yet he ends up falling for with [[TheDreaded Cynthia]].
* RescueRomance: A gender flipped version of the usual variation. Cynthia saves Weston from the invading alien, and as she murders it, Weston falls in love with her.
* ScarsAreForever: Weston has various scars over his body, from incidents he gets into from exploring and his hyperactive nature.
* ShipTease: With Cynthia. God help his soul...

!!Xidorn
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/xidorn_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Straight Shooter]]
* AscendedFanboy: Out of all the newcomers, Xidorn is the most likely to recall the original show and share information about it. He correctly predicts a few challenges as tributes based on his knowledge of the show.
* AsianAndNerdy: Xidorn is of Vietnamese descent and a rather proud nerd, with an enjoyment of sci-fi shows, playing french horn and movie trivia. Unlike other versions of this trope, its not explicit that Xidorn is a good student or not.
* BrutalHonesty: Has moments of this, such as when he told his teacher she was a witch when asking what he thought.
* CatchPhrase: “To be honest…” which usually says before admitting something true.
* {{Fanboy}}: A fan of several directors, such as Guillermo Del Toro, Quentin Tarantino and Cornelius Puckerschmidt.
* {{Foil}}: To Seraphina. Both enjoy horror movies and are honest people, but Seraphina is BrutallyHonest while Xidorn WillNotTellALie. Seraphina is also TheCynic and PragmaticHero while Xidorn is TheIdealist and IdealHero.

[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/easton_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Older Twin]]
* BlackAndNerdy: Given he’s a mathlete, though he’s also an athlete and attractive.
* CoordinatedClothes: Easton and Weston seem to have this as their outfits are near identical, with only the colors reversed.
* TheDividual: Easton and Weston come across at this at first, but it becomes apparent this isn’t necessarily true. Deconstructed, in that Easton expresses the sentiment that because they are twins, people view them as this.
* {{Fanboy}}: He and Weston are big fans of horror movies and movie monsters.
* FinishingEachOthersSentences: Easton and Weston have a tendency to do this.
* {{Foil}}: With Weston. Both seem similar at first, being identical twins. Easton is intelligent, seeks independence and wants more than his small town. Weston is not as bright, wants to always be with his brother and doesn't like change.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Easton views his and Weston’s relationship as this, as their parents encourage Easton to watch out for his brother. It’s what their labels seem to imply.
* GoodWithNumbers: Easton’s very talented in mathematics.
* HiddenDepths: Easton isn’t actually just two people in one with his brother.
* PolarOppositeTwins: Not as notable at first, but it becomes aware that Easton is highly intelligent while Weston is...not. Weston wants to be TheDividual with Easton while Easton seeks independence.
* SiblingRivalry: Develops this with Weston after his statements are taken out of context.
* SingleMindedTwins: Subverted. They seem to be this at first, but more differences are revealed as the story goes on.
* SmallTownBoredom: Easton wants to explore more of the world outside his hometown, which is why he applied to the show.
* StraightMan: Acts this way towards his brother’s wackier ideas and to some of his crazier teammates.
* ThemeTwinNaming: Their names are based on opposite directions (east, west) and end the same. Counts as a MeaningfulName as it hints at how their opposites.
* TwinDesynch: Somewhat, as we see more of the twins as individuals when they separate.
* TheUnfavourite: Believes himself to be this, as Weston gets more attention despite Easton getting better grades and working to watch over his brother.

!!Griswold
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/griswold_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Lineman]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Griswold is generally friendly guy, but killed the fake invaders during the challenge.
* BigEater: Eats a lot to keep up his body weight.
* BigFun: Griswold is huge but loves a good party.
* TheBigGuy: As a linebacker he’s this for his team. On the show, Griswold is the second tallest contestant, tallest male and can function as this in a team challenge.
* BigManOnCampus: Griswold’s appearance match the image of a popular guy in high school, and Griswold is an athlete and well liked by most everyone.
* CannotTalkToWomen: While he can talk to girls fine as friends, when flirting he stumbles. A lot.
* ChekhovsHobby: Griswold’s bio mentions his talent as weight lifting. Guess who wins the weightlifting challenge?
* {{Fanboy}}: Not as much as Pascal, but his school has a tradition of players joining reality shows, so he has a fair amount of knowledge of the shows, including Pascal's career.
* FratBro: Griswold is a {{DownplayedTrope mild example]]. He loves to party and is keenly interested in sports, but he's much nicer example than the typical example.
* {{Hunk}}: Griswold is attractive, muscular and masculine. Lita certainly noticed.
* IGotBigger: Had a huge growth spurt between middle school and high school and worked out a ton to get even bigger.
* TheLeader: Elected the leader of the Fizzled Fireworks during the capture the flag challenge. Griswold is surprised, considering in football his job is TheBigGuy. Considering his team wins the challenge, seems they made the right choice.
* LovableJock: Friendly and popular with his teammates. Also a [[{{Pun}} big fan and player]] of football.
* MeaningfulName: ''Gris''wold sounds like ''griz''zly bear, fitting Griswold's brown hair, big size and teddy bear like nature.
* MuscleAngst: It’s implied Griswold still feels like he’s a scrawny kid and or is worried about muscle loss.
* MusclesAreMeaningful: Griswold muscles tend to come in handy for challenges and his stronger muscles are why he wins the weightlifting challenge against Aiden.
* NiceGuy: Griswold is shown to be pretty nice to everyone, even to [[{{Jerkass}} Tessa]].
* RealMenWearPink: Griswold jokes about wearing a prom dress for spirit week, but he is perfectly confident in his masculinity.
* ShipTease: With Lita. Griswold's clearly he attracted to her, and eventually works up the courage to talk to her. Since he and Lita have broken up, it seems he and Riley may have a ship-tease...
* ShoutOut: His football, the Bulldogs, is a reference to a previous character from the author’s previously attempted Total Drama fanfiction.
* TeamSpirit: As being part of a football team, Griswold is big on this and makes a big deal about it in regards to the Fizzled Fireworks.
* TinySchoolBoy: Was very puny and small in middle school...[[TheBigGuy not so much in high school]].

!!Ignacio
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ignacio_model_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:Mr. Fanservice]]
[[caption-width-right:125:[[labelnote:Click here to see Ignacio's actual appearance ]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ignacio_now_for_rhonda_1.png[[/labelnote]]]]

* BlessedWithSuck: Ignacio's shyness makes his extreme beauty--and the attention it brings him--very much a double-edged sword for him.
* CannotTalkToWomen: Ignacio already is shy, but easily loses the ability to speak coherently when a girl flirts with him or
* CarpetOfVirility: While clean shaven as a model, when Ignacio arrives he's extremely hair, especially his body.
* DistaffCounterpart: He and Lita serve as this for each other, being Mr. and Ms. Fanservice.
* EvenTheGuysWantHim: Everyone finds him attractive, including male contestants and staff.
* {{Expy}}: WordOfGod confirms Ignacio’s role as Mr. Fanservice was based on [[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Justin and Alejandro]] and the discussion of the character before he arrived was to imply he'd be like two characters. Subverted, as Ignacio as a quite the opposite personality than the usual Mr. Fanservice.
* EyeCandy: Was cast on the show to be a hot guy people can look at, and what he reluctantly ends up fulfilling most of the time.
* FanserviceModel: Ignacio is specifically an underwear model, so he is almost always showing skin in his shoots. Not that anyone is complaining.
* GadgeteerGenius: During the snow fort challenge, Ignacio is able [[MacGyvering to use trash]] to create a snowball making and firing machine. He's also able to use mirrors to direct the sun's rays and melt the opposing team's snow fort.
* HiredForTheirLooks: The show worked with a modeling agency to find someone to be eye candy for the show. It’s implied the show didn’t do any research on Ignacio’s personality and simply cast him because he is so attractive.
* HumbleGoal: Despite being an extremely successful model, all Ignacio really wants to do is be a science teacher.
* {{Hunk}}: Muscular and attractive, as everyone on the show has noticed.
* LatinLover: While not into flirting, Ignacio is latino and found incredibly attractive.
* MrFanservice: Ignacio was cast to be the male eye candy, and is specifically referred to as Mr. Fanservice.
* ParalyzingFearOfSexuality: Ignacio admits that why he gets so uncomfortable when he flirts or ends up in compromising situations, is because he is attracted to other people, but doesn't want to be viewed as a pervert as people expect of him.
* TheQuietOne: Being shy, Ignacio doesn’t talk a lot until he gets to know someone better.
* ReluctantFanserviceGuy: Ignacio often ends up wearing fewer (or no) clothes or in compromising situations (such as seeing Riley shirtless) despite not wanting to.
* RunningGag: Ignacio constantly ending up shirtless or nude, either to help his team win a challenge or by some accident.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Ignacio has a habit of using more complicated words.
-->'''Ignacio:''' But I was continuously perplexed by the biologically unfeasible physiology of these ‘invaders’ and couldn’t immerse myself into the work.
* ShipTease: Ignacio is quite clearly attracted to Lita's physical appearance. The two have close moments, bonding over both coming from poor homes. Igancio has also quite a few moments with Ness as well...
* ShrinkingViolet: Ignacio is extremely embarrassed and nervous around people. Unfortunately, he gets a lot of attention.
* SoBeautifulItsACurse: Ignacio’s great looks bring him a great deal of attention, which he doesn't really want because he's quite shy.
* TeenGenius: Ignacio is a teenager but is rather intellectual, having an interest in science and being able to create a few plans to help his team when challenges, such as building a snowball firing machine.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Its implied that Ignacio is afraid or really doesn't like snakes, given his reaction to snakes used in the courage trial.

!!Jasper
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jasper_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:Some Nobody]]
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Jasper's older brother is implied to be better than him at everything. That's not an especially high bar, though, because Jasper is average in every way.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Jasper gives the "visit with loved ones" reward to Lita because she was the only one of his teammates to not vote him off, and the only person to remember his name when he returned. It's implied he voted for Cynthia just because Lita was afraid of her.
* CursedWithAwesome:
** While there are more disadvantages to being so average, it's implied Jasper wins the eating challenge precisely because his stomach is of average strength.
** During the torture challenge, Jasper shoves his hand--covered in honey, no less--down a fire ant hill and doesn't get bitten because he's so invisible.
* DownerEnding: Jasper is voted off unceremoniously, but returns and works hard to make it to the finale...to just lose. Worse, it seems he's gone back to being forgotten. Overall, he did win a lot of challenges, defeat his brother and make friends so it may [[BittersweetEnding not be that bad]], but the moment is played as sad.
* DidNotGetTheGirl: By the finale, it's clear Jasper and Lita have some feelings for each other. While there is the [[ShipTease implication]] they could get together, they ultimately don't.
* ForgettableCharacter: In-universe, Jasper is lucky if people remember him well enough to call him the wrong name. People tend to mistake him for an intern because they forget he's competing on the show.
* TheGenericGuy: Amid all the zany characters the author is known for, Jasper is [[RidiculouslyAverageGuy ordinary in every conceivable way]].
* TheNondescript: None of his teammates (or staff) can remember who Jasper is. When every character is introduced, they get a description of their appearance. Jasper's is very thin on detail because not even the narrator can remember anything about him.
-->He was um...there. Had some luggage and brown hair or something. He wore some shoes, and pants and a shirt with some stripes I think.
* OnlyFriend: While "friend" might be stretching it, Lita is the only person who warns Jasper about his impending elimination and doesn’t vote against him. Upon his return, she's the only one to remember him and is willing to vote for whatever he thinks Lita wants. [[ShipTease though it maybe for another reason...]].
* OutOfFocus: Jasper doesn’t even get to finish a confessional. During the sleeping challenge, he is not even mentioned. Subverted when he returns however. He manages to stay in the competition long enough he has to get focus.
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: Jasper's defining trait is that everything about him is utterly unremarkable, and even the narrator can't remember his name. His record in the challenges is neither particularly good nor particularly bad.
* SecondPlaceIsForLosers: Jasper puts a lot of emphasis on winning...and just falls short. The next moments are showing just how depressed he is at that.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Jasper receives limited focus and is quickly [[VotedOffTheIsland eliminated]]. The trope is subverted when he unaccountably returns to the game at the midpoint, after which some people [[RunningGag actually start remembering who he is]].

!!Lita
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lita_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Knockout]]
* ActionGirl: As Vance finds out the hard way, Lita is a very skilled fighter.
* ArchEnemy: With Tessa. Tessa assumes because Lita is MsFanservice, she’s also the AlphaBitch, which leads to them having a big conflict.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: With Ness and Seraphina, her roommates and best friends over the show. She's the Brawn, being more impulsive, athletic, and always ready to get into a fight.
* BerserkButton: In her own words, “I cannot stand people who think they’re so great they can treat others badly.” Talking about her family seems to be another one.
* BoxingBattler: Lita is a trained boxer and has a mean right hook.
* ChekhovsHobby: Lita’s talent is listed as boxing, and she nearly breaks a bus seat with her fist during the bus ride. Guess who competes in the fighting challenge?
* CuteBruiser: Lita is very attractive. Doesn't mean she's not a boxer who routinely delivers brutal beatdowns.
* {{Expy}}: Lita has reminded some readers of [[WesternAnimation/TotalDrama Leshawna]], given her confident and tough personality and both being from the streets. WordOfGod confirms the allusion was intentional, along with taking cues from [[Manga/SailorMoon Sailor Jupiter]], who in the dub was named Lita.
* FormerlyFat: During the game show challenge Jenny hosts, Jenny reveals that one Fizzled Firework use to be really obese as a child. Given her embarrassed reaction, its clear this was Lita.
* FriendlessBackground: Lita admits to never having a sleepover or girl's day out, implying this.
* HairTriggerTemper: Though she's aware of her temper and trying to curb, she still can get riled up rather easy and doesn't direct that anger positively.
* InLoveWithLove: Lita really wants a relationship, already having gone through several. After breaking up with Griswold, she admits she didn't love him but stayed in the relationship hoping it would work anyway.
* LethalChef: Lita ends up acting as a chef during a trust challenge, where Griswold has to trust she will prepare the soup well. She doesn't. On the one hand it was made of deadly fish. On the other hand, she tried to use an egg beater for it and looked for jelly in a jellyfish.
* LookingForLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: Lita has gone through several boyfriends, and has been dumped by all of them. One even turned out to be a married man.
* MarshmallowHell: Given Lita is one of the taller contestants, and the bustiest contestant, its implied she often causes this when she hugs others. A notable example is when she hugs [[ParalyzingFearOfSexuality Ignacio]] after they win a round in the mud wrestling challenge...forgetting her top just fell off.
* MsFanservice: The narration outright says she is this.
* {{Pun}}: Lita's label 'The Knockout' is both a play on her skills as a boxer and her appearance.
* RomanticRunnerUp: Despite being the hottest girl, Griswold and Ignacio realize they [[NoSparks don't really love her]] and turn down Lita. Both are implied to like someone else, with Griswold eventually hooking up with Riley and Ignacio seeming to be interested in Ness...
* SassyBlackWoman: She can get sassy when she’s angry.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: Lita has a noted to be stylish scarf.
* ScaryBlackWoman: She’s not that scary, unless you make her mad.
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: While Lita maybe unaware of just how attractive she is, she is very proud of her body. After accidentally flashing her chest in the tag-team mud wrestling challenge, she didn't care at all.
* ShipperOnDeck: She supports Ness in her crush on Pascal and Seraphina with her relationship with Xidorn.
* ShipTease: She might have the most out of any character, with many of the other male competitors finding her attractive. Her primary ship teases are with Griswold, Jasper, and Ignacio, having moments of flirting or bonding with each. Her close friendship with female members has even caused shipping...
* ShoutOut: The [[WordOfGod author has stated]] that Lita's color scheme is based on Chelsey's in a fellow ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' fanfiction, ''Total Drama Revolution''.
* StatuesqueStunner: Lita is described as very tall, but is still MsFanservice.
* TeamMom: Can act like a mom to her roommates Seraphina and Ness. Can lead to MamaBear or MyBelovedSmother territory.
* ThinksLikeARomanceNovel: Lita believes she’ll find her true love on the show, as she has heard happens to other contestants on these types of shows. She always views love as very powerful and special. Is overjoyed when she finds some romance.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Has a big love of cheese fries.
* UnstoppableRage: Lita’s temper causes her to get violent quickly, and can do a lot of damage.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Lita has a fear of serial killers. Which makes her very uncomfortable at the hotel built by a serial killer...and around Cnythia.

!!Ness
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ness_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Jinx]]
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents: Ness' two dads embarrass her with their arrival during the loved ones visit, revealing she used to pee herself...while on national television.
* AnimalsHateHer: Animals will attack her for no reason, some even as she's trying to help them, like a '''caterpillar'''.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: With Lita and Seraphina. While more cute than hot, Ness is the Beauty of the trio for serving as TheHeart.
* BirthdayHater: Ness doesn't like to celebrate her birthday because even worse things happen to her than usual. She tries to keep a secret so her roommates won't try to celebrate it.
* BornUnlucky: Is labeled as a jinx, and lives up to the name with the amount of bad things that happen to her.
* ButtMonkey: One of the biggest ones, alongside Rhonda. In the high wire challenge she had her wire snap, crows attack her, paper airplanes fly in her eye, an air conditioner fall on her and a gorilla kidnap her. And that’s just one challenge!
* CelebCrush: Ness has always found Pascal dreamy and his music inspirational. Luckily (or not) he’s on the show.
* ChildhoodFriendRomance: Ness had a crush for her older next door neighbor. It ended pretty badly.
* ConeOfShame: Ness has to wear a cone around her neck after her allergic reaction.
* CovertPervert: Ness is sweet and often treated like she's very innocent, but tends to take notice of fanservice. When the guys go streaking, the other girls react with disgust or friendly teasing. Ness however...
-->'''Ness:''' If you ever question there's a higher power, this is proof.
* CursedWithAwesome: While Ness’ bad luck causes her a lot of problems and pain, it has aided her in winning the Awake-a-thon and the interpretative dance challenge.
* FriendlessBackground: Her only friend was an older friend from childhood...which ended awkwardly. Ness has never had a sleepover or girl’s day out or even female friends before the show.
* TheHeart: Sometimes acts as a moral voice of reason between her friends and teammates, such as when they won the power to vote someone off. [[PowerTrio With her roomies]] she's the least aggressive and they tend to be very concerned over her.
* {{Nice G|uy}}irl: Ness is kind, supportive, and rather upbeat...despite her terrible misfortune.
* PlotAllergy: Ness ends up having a severe allergic reaction to Melissa’s cupcakes. It ends up helping her win the challenge.
* PluckyGirl: Despite all the bad things that happen to her, Ness continues to keep trying.
* RunningGag: Ness gets injured or humiliated every episode.
* ShipTease:
** With Pascal, who she is not subtle up crushing on. It doesn't end well...
** During the merge she gets teased pretty hard with Ignacio, including an almost kiss...
* ShrinkingViolet: Ness has shades of this trope, being very embarrassed at her bad luck and quiet around others, especially [[{{Hunk}} Pascal]].
* SingleGirlSeeksMostPopularGuy: Ness has a tendency to fall for attractive, successful guys. She notably crushes on two musicians and teen idols. She does eventually fall for and start dating [[MrFanservice Ignacio]], but her feelings for him have nothing to do with his popularity.
* SmoochOfVictory: What's one of the first things Ness does after winning? Make out with her new boyfriend.
* StacysMom: Ness’ childhood friend found her dad quite attractive...[[MayDecemberRomance and the feelings were returned]].
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Fried clams. She's also the only person who seems to actually like [[StockYuck black licorice]].
* UnluckilyLucky: While Ness' bad luck gets her into bad or even dangerous predicaments, causing a huge fire during a dancing challenge, Ness manages to survive these events unharmed for the most part. In the dancing challenge, the fire ended up leading to her winning.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Ness is terrified of scarabs after a bad field trip to the zoo. Naturally they attack her in the first challenge.

!!Pascal
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pascal_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Pop Star]]
* AlwaysSecondBest: Pascal has never won a strategy based reality show, only going so far as coming in second in another show.
* ArchEnemy:
** He hates a contestant from a former reality show appearance, Amanda Picklestein, for beating him the finale.
** On ''Total Drama Genesis'', Pascal considers Seraphina his biggest threat and schemes to bring her down...while Seraphina [[UnknownRival isn't aware and isn't trying too hard at the game.]] However she does eventually wise up to who he is...
* BeautyIsBad: Pascal is found to be quite attractive, yet he's also a huge liar and manipulator.
* BigBadWannabe: Pascal initially seems to be the main antagonist, himself believing he's the person to beat because he's a reality show veteran. However Pascal fails to predict the show and his fellow contestants right most of the time. He only causes a few eliminations, including his own and is eliminated before the merge.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Pascal acts like a nice guy and is known for spreading a message of positivity, yet lies and manipulates to try and win the game.
* CatchPhrase: Two; “Believe to achieve!” and “Yippe Skippy!”
* ChekhovsSkill: Pascal is a ‘showjumper’, term for someone who competes on lots of reality shows. He specifically mentions saving his team by winning a puzzle challenge. Guess who wins the puzzle challenge? [[note]] Subverted actually. Pascal loses to [[TheDitz Diamonique]] in the puzzle challenge. [[/note]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When Kalino suggests that Pascal could date someone to avoid getting votes, Pascal refuses, as he fines using someone's feelings like that too much.
* {{Expy}}: He’s based of Pappa Rappa. No, really.
* {{Fanboy}}: Pascal was a huge fan of the original Total Drama, which prompted him to become a showjumper.
* {{Foil}}: WordOfGod confirms Pascal was meant to be a foil to two other characters:
** To Seraphina. While she is cynical and appears anti-social, she ends up becoming a friend to many and a good person. Yet while Pascal is an optimist and acts nice, he's trying to manipulate everyone to win the game.
** To Kalino. Both are villains, Pascal is energetic, over the top and is focused on the endgame while Kalino is mellow, subtler in his strategic moves and goes with the flow.
* GenreSavvy: Pascal’s been on reality shows before and knows how to play them. He makes an alliance right off the bad.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: Pascal's scheming to gain power on his team ends up causing a tied vote. While Pascal is aware of the possibility happening, he believes the tiebreaker wont affect him. Instead the tiebreaker ends up randomly eliminating him.
** Made worse in that Pascal could have avoided the tiebreaker in the revote, if he kept his promise to Ness and didn't switch his vote to her.
* {{Hunk}}: Pascal is attractive, gaining attention from Ness. Lita points out he has 'dancer abs'.
* IdolSinger: His musical persona has shades of this, given the upbeat message of songs.
* MoralityPet: Ness is one for Pascal, being someone he actually considers and friend and doesn't want to hurt, not wanting to use her feelings to get himself farther in the game. Yet, Pascal does end up using her as a pawn and voting her off.
* ObliviousToLove: Pascal hasn't picked up on Ness' huge crush, despite some of her [[FreudianSlip obvious slip ups]]. The same thing happens with the arrival of Mandy Picklestein.
* SugaryMalice: Encourages everyone to believe and talks in a very chipper tone, but only to gain their trust. Even when being threatening he talks sugary.
-->'''Pascal:''' Oh driver, could you pretty, pretty, please run those children off the road? Please, with cinnamon and love on top?
* WrongGenreSavvy: Despite having a great deal of experience on reality shows in general and elimination games in particular, Pascal makes a series of very basic mistakes:
** He forges a power alliance before teams are selected, and all his allies wound up on the other team.
** He choose Tessa as the perfect goat to take to the finals with him because she is unlikable, but she is so unlikable that she gets voted off quickly.
** He expects Zipporah to get deep into the game, despite the fact she hardly interacts with her team and Pascal doesn't even know her name, because she is a Goth and being fearsome elimination game players is what Goths supposedly do. Pascal is shocked when Zipporah is voted off midway through the team phase.
** He manipulates his team into splitting the votes between Easton and Ness, as a scheme to form a power alliance, but that endangers his only ally Ness. He believes he can convince Ignacio to vote Easton. He fails.
** As a result of Pascal's vote splitting scheme, a tie in the votes occurs. Pascal believes that a tie causes the bottom two to compete in a tiebreaker challenge, citing previous seasons as an example. Instead, its a revote that fails and leads to Pascal being randomly eliminated.

!!Riley
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/riley_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Bro]]
* ActionGirl: As shown in the alien hunting challenge.
* AllLovingHero: Riley is friendly with everyone, even forging a friendship with [[{{Jerkass}} Tessa]] and possibly [[EmoTeen Zipporah]].
* BirdsOfAFeather: Riley and Griswold; both are athletes, love to party down to earth, and extremely nice.
* CatchPhrase: Riley usually calls someone or something some variation of bro once per chapter.
* CoolBoard: Riley arrives on a skateboard and is an avid skater.
* TheDitz: Not as extreme as some of the other newcomers, but she has her moments, like forgetting to do the maze challenge, dancing with a mounted dead head on and not realizing her own bad driving.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: So far it seems no matter what Riley drives, she drives insanely. She's admitted to crashing a moped, slings Zipporah around on a jet ski, and while stirring toboggan on wheels she hits an old lady, a baby and [[ButtMonkey Rhonda]].
-->'''Riley:''' NO HANDS!
* ExtremeOmnivore: Riley has no trouble eating most foods, especially spicy foods, able to eat ghost peppers without a sweat. She even enjoys dipping chocolate scorpions in expired coffee.
* HiddenDepths: Riley may seem like a silly, typical bro, but she has grown up without parents and living a lower class life with her brothers. She often has life advice for her teammates and seems to be one of the most confident and happily adjusted contestants.
* {{Gasshole}}: Riley wins a burping contest, by burping so strong she forms a high note and shatters glass.
* IHaveBrothers: The youngest and only sister to eight other brothers.
* ImpossiblyTackyClothes: Riley’s clothes are all from a thrift shop. It shows.
* TheLadette: Riley’s character in a nutshell; a woman with the personality of a frat boy.
* LifeOfTheParty: Riley enjoys throwing a party and always has a good time. She's the only contestant whose always enjoying herself, even in the life-threatening challenges. [[ThrillSeeker Especially the life-threatening challenges]].
* MellowFellow: She's rather chill and laid back; notably she's the only one who isn't angry with Tessa as much as feels bad for her.
* TheNicknamer: Riley has given an AffectionateNickname to almost all of her fellow Fireworks, burritos, and even a shark.
* OddFriendship:
** The kind and fun loving Riley has managed to strike up a friendship with Toby, the not caring DeadpanSnarker, who as co-host is suppose to torture her.
** During the merge Riley, chill and well liked, becomes close with Tessa, who is known for being pedantic and hated. Though Tessa is becoming a better person.
* ParentalAbandonment: Her parents died when Riley was one. This is why her eight brothers [[PromotionToParent raised her]].
* ShamelessFanserviceGirl: The quasi-punkish Riley might seem at first an unlikely candidate for gratuitously titillating the audience, but she is reasonably attractive and has little modesty.
* ShoutOut: Riley’s clothes are a reference to Macklemore’s Thrift Shop.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Riley has a fear of peacocks after a childhood incident. Naturally, she has to steal three feathers from a one-eyed, angry peacock during a challenge. Twice.

!!Seraphina
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seraphina_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Psychic]]
* AntiHero: Seraphina is anti-social and cynical and not above playing the social game to stay in longer. However she does seem to care for her new friends and aid them and is certainly against [[{{Jerkass}} Tessa]].
* ArchEnemy: with Tessa. Tessa makes it clear she disapproves of Tessa’s behavior and Seraphina makes it clear she doesn’t care. Tessa mistreats Seraphina for this reason.
* BeautyBrainsAndBrawn: With Lita and Ness. She's the Brains, being the most strategic and on occasion acting like TheTrickster.
* BrokenBird: Seraphina was an idealistic child who wanted to use her powers to see the future to help others. That didn’t go so well however, which is why she’s cynical.
* TheCynic: Seraphina does not have a high opinion of people or life.
* DeadpanSnarker: Seraphina is fond of snarking.
* {{Foil}}: To Xidorn. Both enjoy horror movies and are honest people, but Seraphina is BrutallyHonest while Xidorn WillNotTellALie. Seraphina is also TheCynic and PragmaticHero while Xidorn is TheIdealist and IdealHero.
* FortuneTeller: Seraphina has elements of this and was one in the past.
* FriendlessBackground: Seraphina admits to not having any friends. She doesn’t seem to mind this however.
* GuileHero: Seraphina wins the social challenge through her talking.
* TheInsomniac: Seraphina is often up late at night and admits to having insomnia, which aids her in the Awake-a-thon. Its implied to be linked to her psychic powers.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Seraphina is anti-social and cynical, but she is there for people who support her.
* LonerTurnedFriend: Seraphina was a bit of a loner but ends up becoming friends with Lita, Ness, Griswold, Xidorn and others.
* MySignificanceSenseIsTingling: How Seraphina’s visions usually manifest. Justified because she has little control of her powers.
* NotAMorningPerson: Seraphina sleeps in, due to not being able to fall asleep at night.
* ThePiratesWhoDontDoAnything: Seraphina’s label is the psychic, yet she doesn’t seem to do many ‘psychic’ things. Justified in that show identifies Seraphina as a psychic, which Seraphina doesn’t make a big deal about, mostly because she doesn’t like her psychic powers. Subverted soon though, which she starts using them.
* PurpleIsPowerful: No one else in the cast has anything like Seraphina's psychic abilities, and her largely lavender ensemble emphasizes this uniqueness on a meta level.
* PowerIncontinence: She has no knowledge of [[HowDoIShootWeb how to use her psychic powers]] and still doesn’t have full control of her powers.
-->'''Seraphina:''' My powers don’t come with a user manual.
* PragmaticHero: Seraphina is willing to lie to win a challenge and vote off Jasper if it leads to her and her friends getting better in the game. Despite this, she is ultimately concerned for her friends and their well being.
* ScrewDestiny: Seraphina admits that her visions are a possibility but not set in stone.
* {{Seers}}: Seraphina’s main psychic ability seems to be seeing the possible future.
* ShipTease: With Xidorn. The two eventually become a couple.
* ShoutOut: Her t-shirt is a line from a song by Marina and The Diamonds.
* SirSwearsALot: Seraphina swears the most out of the contestants.
* TheSlacker: Though not as obvious as Kalino, Seraphina joined the show to avoid her getting a job.
* TheSvengali: Seraphina’s mother used her daughter’s psychic powers to make money, not caring for Seraphina's own ideas or wants.
* TarotMotifs: Seraphina uses tarot cards, mostly from the Major Arcana. She uses them to tell fortunes for her teammates, that seem to [[{{Foreshadowing}} imply something about what they'll deal with on the show...]]

!!Tessa
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tessaforrhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Big Shot]]
* TheAce: Tessa is skilled at challenges, winning the racing challenge against an actual track star, coming in third on her team in the Awake-a-thon and being a skilled ice skater. She's also graduated high school alread.
* ArchEnemy: With Lita. Tessa assumes because Lita is MsFanservice, she’s also the AlphaBitch, which leads to them having a big conflict. To a lesser extent, Tessa has this with a Seraphina as well, disbelieving in the girl's psychic abilities as lies and eventually seeing her as one of lita's lackeys.
* ArcWords: For her character arc, the phrase “The pot calling the kettle black.” These words are used to refer to her hypocritical attitude. When Tessa uses these words herself, she cringes at the realization she’s being hypocritical.
* BigBadWannabe: Tessa says she’s going to take everyone down one by one…yet she fails to gain any power because she alienates everyone and is eliminated second from her team.
* ButtMonkey: Since returning at the merge, Tessa hasn't had it so good. Some of her misfortunate is PlayedForLaughs, such as getting skunked or being hit in the head with a cup of coffee.
* DeadpanSnarker: She has her share of snarky comments, particularly towards her ditzy competitors.
* DeadStarWalking: In-universe. Tessa is famous at the moment for winning at the Olympics and her controversy in the media, so her appearance is a big deal. She’s fourth out.
* HatedByAll: Once everyone finds out how mean she is, no one really likes her.
* HeelFaceTurn: Tessa also becomes friendlier with everyone after the alien challenge...until she snaps at Lita. Returning during the merge, she tries to make a more genuine attempt after realizing how she came across.
* FreudianExcuse: Tessa had a rough childhood and was bullied for being different. This leads her to view a lot of genuinely nice people as jerks because they seem popular.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: While not a friend, she is a teammate nobody really cares for. This trope is subverted however, in that they get rid of her pretty quickly when it is clear she won’t change.
* HolierThanThou: Has this attitude towards some of the other contestants.
* {{Hypocrite}}: The things Tessa calls people out on could apply to her as well. The biggest example is her hatred of bullies, when she bullies the other contestants quite frequently.
* IgnoredEpiphany: Tessa spends the alien challenge bonding with Riley and learning her teammates aren’t as bad as she thought and could be wrong…only to insult Lita and revert to her old mindset and trying to eliminate others.
* {{Jerkass}}: Tessa is rude and mean to just about everyone.
** JerkWithAHeartOfGold: After returning during the merge, Tessa mellows out and works to correct her past mistakes. She's still highly competitive, stubborn, and occasionally rude, but is a lot kinder than before.
* KarmaHoudini: Subverted. Tessa is not eliminated at first, but when she fails to be a nicer person is gotten rid of the next opportunity. WordOfGod says Tessa was a parody of AlphaBitch or Jerkass style characters in reality shows that treat everyone awfully yet make it far.
* LonersAreFreaks: Tessa believes people view her as this and somewhat shares this mentality, viewing outsiders as ostracized for not selling out.
* ObliviouslyEvil: Tessa is honestly not aware of how she comes off.
* OnlyFriend: Tessa mentions another Olympic ice skater she is a friend of. We later meet this friend, Ashley, during the merge. Tessa confirms Ashley is her only friend...until Ashley ends their friendship because Tessa is bad publicity. However, Riley ends up being this afterwards.
* ReformedButRejected: Tessa tries to apologize for her actions and call out the real villain, but is rejected for being a bully previously.
* TheScapegoat: Pascal forms an alliance with her because he thinks she’d serve as this in the final two.
* TookALevelInKindness: Upon returning, Tessa tries to act like a better person. She tries to aplogize and even saves Lita in a challenge. This is a lot different from the girl who wouldn't share her seat on the bus.
* SourPrudes: She thinks little of violence or fighting and [[SlutShaming shames]] Lita.

!!Zipporah
[[quoteright:100:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zipporah_for_rhonda.png]]
[[caption-width-right:100:The Token Goth]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Ninety percent of Zipporah’s comments are sarcastic remarks. Part of the reason her team votes her off is because they felt she was rather rude and negative, which the team didn't want.
* EmoTeen: Zipporah acts rather 'emo' despite being a goth; she acts rather whiny and self-important, even though its implied her life is just fine.
* {{Expy}}: Many readers have noticed similarities between Zipporah and the Goths in Ridonculous Race. WordOfGod states Zipporah was thought of before RR aired however.
* {{Goth}}: An extremely stereotypical goth; wears all black, loves creepy things and hates society.
* {{Hipster}}: She detests society for its 'mainstream' views, like a hipster.
* LonersAreFreaks: Zipporah has strange interests, though she has friends back home and is a loner by choice on the show. This ends up causing her teammates to vote her off, as they didn't want to vote off a friend and no one was particularly close to Zipporah.
* NightmareFetishist: Zipporah sheds a single tear at seeing the [[HellHotel Pentagram Hotel]] and hearing it's history. She's quite annoyed to hear it's becoming a tourist attraction.
* RecurringElement: Zipporah is a parody on how many Total Drama fanfictions frequently have a goth contestant, being the 'token' goth for this season. [[{{Deconstruction}} Unlike other goth contestants, she doesn't fare as well in the show due to her negative attitude.]]
* StrawNihilist: Thinks society is over run with mainstream people, like her parents, and sucks because of it.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Despite being the fifth voted out, Zipporah rarely interacted with others, so little was know about her. This ends up being a factor in her team's decision to vote her off.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:The Hosts]]
!!Rhonda
* AuthorAvatar: Played with. While Rhonda is partially based off the author, she's actually very abused and comically humiliated unlike most examples.
* ButtMonkey: One of the most abused characters along with Ness, Rhonda suffers incidents and gets picked on quite frequently by the contestants or her own co-hosts.
* BigBadWannabe: On paper, Rhonda could be the main villain, as she does have the ability to torture the contestants to a degree with challenges and twists, but she isn't given a lot of respect by the contestants or her own subordinates. And while having some power as host, she is limited by the higher ups.
* HollywoodUgly: Rhonda is not hideous or even that bad looking, but is called frumpy often and thus unattractive by Hollywood standards.
* MysteriousPast: Rhonda's actual past is unclear, having had unsuccessful career before becoming a host. But who she is before that and why she of all people got the job is unclear...
* NotSoAboveItAll: Rhonda can get as silly or petty as other characters when provoked.
* StraightMan: She acts as the more normal person compared to her more childish co-hosts and the colorful contestants.
* ThatManIsDead: Rhonda has appeared on many reality shows (faring poorly, for the most part) under various assumed names, with "Rhonda" as her latest alias. When Vance learns some of this and inquires, Rhonda tells him she regards her current persona as permanent.
--> '''Rhonda:''' Who I was before is basically dead; I am Rhonda now.
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Rhonda finds herself forced between becoming a SellOut and using ManipulativeEditing or holding to her principles and face cancelation and the shame of failing. Selling out means using the contestants as stepping stones for ratings.
* TokenGoodTeammate: While not a saint, compared to Jenny's self-centered views and Toby's complete indifference, she's the nicest host of the trio.
* TookALevelInJerkass: As the show continues to struggle with its budget and the ratings, Rhonda becomes more unhinged and enjoys torturing the contestants and trying to manipulate them for drama.
* VagueAge: Rhonda's age is never explicitly stated, but is described as rather young looking. But she is implied to be older than the contestants (who are roughly sixteen), and has some history of a failed career.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Jenny and Toby make fun of Rhonda pretty frequently, yet somehow they're still friends and work together.

!!Jenny and Toby
* AmbiguouslyBi: Toby does have a picture of Ignacio and seems very attracted to him, but is just as mesmerized when Lita's bikini top falls off. His sexuality is not outright confirmed.
* AdventureDuo: Inverted. Jenny and Toby are stated to be adventurers and get into crazy hijinks around the world. But Jenny has the personality the sidekick would usually have of the duo and vice-versa with Toby.
* AttentionWhore: Jenny is rather [[RageAgainstTheAuthor angry]] at the author for not giving her more screen-time and believes herself to be the main character.
* CatchPhrase: Jenny constantly shouts "YOUR MOM!" enough that it counts.
* TheCorrupter: Jenny has been persuading Rhonda to manipulate the contestants and shared suggestions for ways to torture them, slowing making the hostess a worse person and lose her morals.
* DeadpanSnarker: Toby uses a lot of sarcasm, often at the expense of Jenny, who [[SarcasmBlind doesn't get it]].
* TheDividual: While Jenny and Toby are almost opposite in appearance and personality traits, the two are rarely seen without the other, are introduced together, share the role of co-hosts and Rhonda's mostly useless allies.
* FourthWallObserver: Jenny is aware she is in a fanfiction, and uses that awareness [[RageAgainstTheAuthor to complain about the quality of the story]]. Like Jenny, Toby is aware he is in a fictional story, though points it out less often then Jenny.
* FieryRedhead: Jenny has strawberry blonde hair and is rather passionate, usually when insulting someone.
* GadgeteerGenius: Toby manages to turn a street of Washington into a winter wonderland during June, building snow snow machines [[{{MacGyvering}} out of wood chippers and paper clips]]. He ends up making lots of gadgets necessary for
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Jenny is described as rather short while Toby is described as tall, albeit not as obvious due to his slouching.
* HypercompetentSidekick: Jenny often introduces Toby as her sidekick, and the two are almost always together. But it is clear that Toby is the more intelligent of the two, though Jenny is more vocal and active.
* ManChild: Despite being a young adult, Jenny acts very immature and often uses child-like reasoning. She also enjoys skipping and making up songs.
* MoralityPet: Jenny favors Hayden the most out of the contestants, being less mean to him and usually tries to give him special treatment. Toby meanwhile favors Riley, who's kind to him and thinks all his gadgets are cool.
* OddFriendship: Jenny and Hayden. While Hayden is a character who often acts much older than his age, Jenny acts much more childish than someone her age. Despite this, Jenny and Hayden get along well enough, Jenny clearly favoring him out of the newbies.
* RedheadInGreen: Jenny's outfit is primarily green and one of the few characters with red hair.
* RedOniBlueOni: With Toby. Jenny is the red oni, being much more passionate, outspoken, and aggressive, in contrast to Toby's unemotional, quiet, cynical indifference.
* SarcasmBlind: Jenny is a frequent target of Toby's sarcasm, but she doesn't get it he's insulting her.
* TheSlacker: Toby is very annoyed at having to do any work and tries to avoid it when possible.
* StoppedCaring: Toby has no cares about anything related to the show, even though it could cost them all their careers
* VagueAge: All three of the hosts' exact age is unclear. Its said that all the hosts seem close in age, and Rhonda is described as looking rather young. Its also implied that Jenny and Toby are older than the contestants (who are roughly sixteen years)
* WithFriendsLikeThese: Jenny seems to have no respect for her friends Rhonda and Toby. She usually finds ways to bug Rhonda and belittles Toby, though Toby also belittles her.
