'''''Football Frontier Arc'''''
!!Someoka Ryuugo / Kevin Dragonfly
[[quoteright:142:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/someoka_5295.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Creator/YasuyukiKase (Japanese), Scott Evans and later Richard Magarey (English, original anime), Nigel Pilkington (UK English, games), Creator/KyleHebert (US English, games), Luis Alfonso Padilla (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"Raimon's fearsome goal scorer is [[BruiserWithASoftCenter really all heart.]]"''

* AdaptationalCurves: In the manga, he is drawn with a much more muscular build than in the anime.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: While his facial structures (big nose and big lower lip) and buzz-cut suggest he might be partially African, he still doesn't fully resemble one, especially when compared to actual black characters. In fact, ''GO'' made him look even less African-like, with a hairstyle which is not commonly seen on black people.
* AnimalBattleAura: [[OurDragonsAreDifferent Dragons]].
* TheBigGuy: Physically, he's one of the biggest and most muscular members, as well as one of the strongest, being the second best striker after Gouenji. Personality wise, he's [[BoisterousBruiser equally big]].
* BishonenLine: The dragon in his hissatsu techniques.
* BoisterousBruiser: He's one of the tallest and strongest members, as well as one of the most brash, loud, passionate and a really cool friend to hang out with.
* BruiserWithASoftCenter: A sad thing about those who dislike Someoka is that they don't see past his brash side. He's actually one of the more caring characters.
* CoolShades: In ''GO'', he has a pair of shades that he usually keeps on the neckline of his shirt. When he wears the shades, they add to his overall fancy look.
* CoolTeacher: In ''GO'', he acts like a mentor-figure to Nishiki, encouraging him when he felt he was weak during the time he went to participate in the Italian Pro-League. Nishiki is also happy when Someoka brings him onigiri.
* {{Determinator}}: He's one of the most hard-working characters and when he wants to improve himself, he practices until he succeeds.
* DislikesTheNewGuy: When Gouenji joined the team, Someoka was the only one who disliked him due to his jealousy on him and the fact that he didn't want to lose the ace sttiker position to somebody else. After they combine their forces and create Dragon Tornado, he starts to accept Gouenji as the ace striker, but this leads him to dislike Fubuki when he replaces Gouenji for that role, after the latter being PutOnABus. In both cases, he eventually warms up to both guys, though.
* FaceOfAThug: He looks like a thug and a bully, but he isn't one.
* FieryRedhead: He's quite hot-tempered.
* GreenEyedMonster: In the beginning, he was jealous on Gouenji due to the admiration he got from the other members, as well as his powerful shots when Someoka himself still didn't have a hissatsu.
* HeroicRROD: In season 2, he gets his leg injured when he prevents Sakuma from using a dangerous technique after Fudou already injured him in the leg. It gets worse due to overexerting it when he tries to improve his latest hissatsu until he drops to the ground and is taken out of the team to recover.
* HairTriggerTemper: Mostly in season 1, where he often gets annoyed by his teammates' antics.
* HotBlooded: He's hot-tempered and enjoys fighting.
* HotBloodedSideburns: As a Dark Emperor, he sports two long and spiky sideburns.
* ImageSong: ''Bad Boys Brothers' Blues''.
* InSeriesNickname: [[AllThereInTheManual According to his Eleven License]], his title is "The Passionate Dragon Striker".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He might be hot-tempered, sharp-tounged and competitive about the ace striker position, but he still proves to be a genuinely caring person.
* LeeroyJenkins: In the early episodes, he used to rush to try to score a goal without any strategy. This trait is prominently seen in the match against Occult, but he gets better.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Fubuki was very distraught after he was taken out of the team and started going through a SanitySlippage, mostly because he had to carry the forward position by himself and started losing himself to his other personality. When Fubuki visited Someoka in the hospital and confessed him his problems, he felt better.
* MeaningfulName: "Ryu" means dragon, a reference to his AnimalBattleAura.
* MightyGlacier: Ryuugo is the other striker, has powerful kick strength and insane amounts of stamina even for this show, but he's rather slow. Out of all the forwards on Raimon & Inazuma Japan, he's the more offensive and straight forward compared to the others who balance between strength and agility.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Dragon Crash, Dragon Tornado, Wyvern Crash and Dragon Slayer.
* PutOnABus: Because he tried to stop Sakuma's [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Koutei Penguin No. 1]], he injures his leg. Said injury gets worse due to being badly treated, combined with his desire to perfect his new hissatsu technique. Because of that, he is taken off the team and stays in the hospital for the rest of the 2nd game/season.
* RealMenCanCook: He's surprisingly a good cook in ''GO'' and has a tendency to bring food over whenever he goes to Nishiki, whose favourite food is his onigiri.
* RedOniBlueOni: The red oni to Fubuki's blue. Coincidentally, he has pink hair.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The manly man to Fubuki's Sensitive guy.
* TookALevelInKindness: He's much calmer as an adult compared to how he was as a teenager. Arguably, he starts to show his soft side more often even in the original series in later seasons.
* [[TerritorialSmurfette Territorial Striker]]: At first he has trouble accepting Gouenji and later Fubuki after the former is PutOnABus and the latter replaces the former as the ace strikers, but he warms up to both eventually.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A. Don't expect him to be facing you when he gives heartfelt advice.
-->'''Someoka'''(To Fubuki): I've been watching you this whole time waiting to leave it to you... since I hate you so much.
* WhatTheHellHero: During one practice, Handa calls him out on making a foul when he decides to get past one of the defenders by pushing him to fall on the ground.
* TheWorfEffect: As season one progresses, his hissatsu and combination hissastsu become ineffective at scoring goals, with non-forward members of his team either contributing more than him or getting injured enough to refrain from playing in the match. While this fades in season 2 thanks to Fubuki, he becomes a victim of this in the Football Frontier International: Dragon Slayer works once on it's own, and is frequently worfed until he performs a shoot chain with Hiroto and Gouenji, despite both having weaker individual shots that score better than his.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: He's a middle-schooler, but he looks like he's at least 30.

!!Handa Shin'ichi / Steve Grim
[[quoteright:213:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hndaaa_4917.png]]
-->'''Voiced By'': Creator/HiroShimono (Japanese), Creator/LucienDodge (US English, games), Gabriel Ortiz (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"He is a [[JackOfAllStats jack-of-all trades]], in other words, well balanced."''

* ADayInTheLimelight: He is given the main spotlight in a two-parter chapter from Asada's manga. The main character Gouenji only appears at the end of the second part.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown hair and brown eyes.
* DislikesTheNewGuy: Had this attitutde towards Kidou when he first joined the team, mainly because he didn't like the way he changed their usual style of playing, even though it was for the better.
* {{Dismotivation}}: He'll play soccer with everyone, sure. But that doesn't mean he has to enjoy training...
** Lampshaded in the last episode of the original series.
** HypocriticalHumour: After he proudly says that they all grew out off the days they were so unmotivated, Shourin points out that he was the least motivated back then, which he doesn't want to hear.
* IronicName: In the dub. "Grim" sounds too out of place for someone nice and [[MemeticMutation "normal"]] like him.
* JackOfAllStats: His stats are thoroughly average across the board and will remain roughly equal to each other as he levels up, unless you train a specific stat.
* LazyBum: He prefers reading over training.
* NiceGuy: He's usually kind and caring with his teammates.
* OnlySaneMan: Compared to some of the people he hangs out with, he can be considered this.
* OrdinaryMiddleSchoolStudent: While every member of Raimon can easily be considered one, it's most notably his main gimmick.
* OutOfFocus: He, along several other characters [[note]] Shishido, Shourin, Max and Kageno [[/note]], got hit with this trope the most. Despite being part of the main team, they don't have much screen time or CharacterDevelopment in the first season and they rarely appear in the second and third seasons, aside from the beginning and the ending. At least Handa is still lucky enough to make an appearance in ''GO''. The others? Not so much.
** PutOnABus: Twice. First time, they were injured to the point of staying in the hospital for the enirety of the 2nd season/game, with the bus coming back only at the very end. Second time, neither of them were selected for Inazuma Japan, so they were put on a bus once again, until the end of the series.
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: His design, personality and stats are all average.
** TheGenericGuy: His normalness is almost [[MemeticMutation memetic]].

!!Kabeyama Heigorou / Jack Wallside
[[quoteright:225:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kabeyama.jpg]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Megumi Tano (Japanese), Richard Magarey (English, original anime), Creator/KyleHebert (US English, games), Bruno Coronel (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"This bulky full back forms a [[StoneWall one-man defensive wall.]]"''

* AbsurdPhobia: As seen in episode 5, he's afraid of snails of all things.
* AdaptationalWimp: In the game, his The Wall hissatsu is very useful to stop the opposite team's forwards. In the anime, it becomes useless after a while, being frequently broken through to show how strong the enemy is.
* AfroAssKicker: His hairstyle is sort of an afro and he can be quite badass when the situation calls for it.
* BigEater: He's often seen eating a lot more than anyone in the team, whether he's eating with the others or simply having a snack. For instance, he had ten plates of noodles and would have ordered yet another had it not been for Tsunami's attempt to encourage him to create a hissatsu together, which made him lose his appetite.
* TheBigGuy: Physically, he is the most massive member and has a lot of physical strenght, as he's able to take hits others can't even when his hissatsus don't work. In terms of personality, he subverts this, for being a cowardly GentleGiant.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The big guy to Kurimatsu and Megane's little guys.
* ButtMonkey: Thanks to TheWorfEffect and because he's often a victim of Kogure's pranks.
* CoolBigBro: At least his brother considers him to be this, boasting of how his team defeated Teikoku. And proves to be when he helps his team win with the Inazuma Otoshi.
* CowardlyLion: Although he gets scared easily, he can be pretty awesome when he overcomes his fears, most prominently in the episode where he had trouble doing the Inazuma Otoshi due to his fear of heights, but after getting over it he manages to master it and help his team score.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Despite being rather goofy and childish in addition to being easily scared, he's quite capable as a player (unless he suffers from TheWorfEffect) ''and'' he's the only one from the original team besides Endou who doesn't leave the team in season 2.
* DishingOutDirt: Both "The Wall" and "The Mountain" are earth-related techniques.
* FaceYourFears: When he is assigned the task to master the Inazuma Otoshi with Gouenji, he struggles at first due to his fear of heights, which he has to overcome. He succeeds.
* GentleGiant: Despite his big size, he's very bashful and cowardly, but also nice.
* {{Gonk}}: Because of his fat and disproportionate body, big nose, big lips and weird hairstyle, his design is clearly not one of the best.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "[[GentleGiant Kind-hearted Giant]]" according to his Eleven License.
* MeaningfulName: "Kabe" means "wall" and "yama" means "mountain". His signature hissatsu is "The Wall" and later "The Mountain".
* NighttimeBathroomPhobia: In episode 24, he's scared to go to the bathroom alone at night out of fear he might see a ghost, much to Handa's annoyance.
* RhymeThemeNaming: Also a FamilyThemeNaming. In the dub, his name Jack rhymes with that of his brother, Zack.
* RollingAttack: Super Armadillo, in-game.
* RunningGag: He always has to go to a restroom when nervous.
* StoneWall: He's very strong, blocks very well ([[TheWorfEffect in the game, at least]]) and is able to take hits that send other people to hospital, which is the reason why he's one of the few characters that never leave the team at any point. However, he doesn't have any offensive moves and he's unable to move fast without getting tired.
* ThoseTwoGuys: Often seen with Kurimatsu in season 2 and 3 and with Megane when the former is PutOnABus.
* VerbalTic: Adds "-ssu" to the ends of his sentences.
* VocalDissonance: His voice is relatively high-pitched for somebody of his size.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He's initially scared of heights of any kind, which become a problem when he has to perform a hissatsu that recquires high jumping, but he manages to overcome it thanks to the others' determination.
* TheWorfEffect: Mainly "The Wall", which is very useful in the game to stop upcomming forwards, but rarely works in the anime post season 1. Slightly justified in that the series wouldn't have been about Endou if Kabeyama had blocked every shoot, and Alieas Academy starting out leauges above everyone else, but still.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: It's hard to believe he's actually one of the ''younger'' characters when he looks like he's anything but.

!!Kurimatsu Teppei / Todd Ironside
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kurimatsu_teppei.png]]
-->'''Voiced By:''' Hino Miho (Japanese), Richard Magarey (English, original anime), Ernesto Lezama (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"The team's mood-maker whose great courage makes up for his small size."''

* AdvertisedExtra: For somebody who appears in ''Outer Code'' you'd expect he would appear in the actual ''Ares'' anime and play against the protagonist's team. He doesn't.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: The little guy to Kabeyama's big guy.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Becomes Raimon's captain by the end of the series.
* TheCameo: He briefly appears at the end of episode 5 of ''Outer Code'' alongside his family.
* CheerfulChild: One of the youngest and smallest members, with a cheerful, fun-loving personality.
* DespairEventHorizon: He crosses it after The Genesis make both Endou and Kazemaru cross it and cause the latter to leave the team. He himself loses his will and leaves the team as well.
* GoofyBuckteeth: He's one of the more "comedic" characters in the main cast, and has buck teeth.
* {{Keet}}: Aside from a few moments of self-doubt or concern about his teammates, he's mostly upbeat and positive.
* MeaningfulName: "Kuri" means "chestnut". His hairstyle makes him look like one and he's shown to like chestnuts.
* MassivelyNumberedSiblings: As seen in ''Ares'', he has three younger brothers.
* PointlessBandaid: He wears a bandaid on his nose as an accessory.
* ProductPlacement: Owns a DS, and is seen playing it in the series' earliest cutscenes.
* PutOnABus: In both season 2 and 3.
** In season 2, he leaves the team on his own because The Genesis broke down both Endou and Kazemaru, which made him unable to tolerate the situation any longer and comes back at the end of the season, where him among other players that left the team become the Dark Emperors.
** In season 3, Coach Kudou takes him off the team after the match against The Empire due to being injured and gets replaced by [[TheBusCameBack Fubuki]].
* SparedByTheAdaptation: In the game, he gets badly injured by Gran in Osaka, while in the anime, he instead crosses the DespairEventHorizon and leaves the team on his own after Kazemaru did the same.
* ShortTeensTallAdults: He's noticeably shorter than his teammates, who themselves are rather short for their age, with most adults dwarfing them in size.
* ThemeNaming: Like his siblings mentioned above, his first name ends with "-pei".
* ThoseTwoGuys: Often seen with Kabeyama.
* VerbalTic: Replaces "desu" with "deyansu".

!!Shishido Sakichi / Sam Kincaid
[[quoteright:189:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shishido_5160.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Nara Tooru (Japanese), Dave Bridges (English, original anime), Creator/LucienDodge (US English, games), Eduardo Ramírez (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"He is becoming the team's key-man by developing his own pace."''

* AdaptedOut: In the manga, where he's replaced by Tamano Gorou.
* ButtMonkey: Not as much as Kabeyama or Megane, but he has his moments of misfortune and his English bio describes him as being a victim of his teammate's jokes.
* EvilRedhead: As a Dark Emperor.
* EyesOutOfSight: His eyes are always hidden by his hair.
* FunnyAfro: His first idea of a hissatsu is one involving two soccer balls in his afro. And when he creates his first proper hissatsu, [[BoisterousBruiser Someoka]] gives him friendly noogies, messing his hair in the process.
* GotVolunteered: He was the first to try Endou's idea to stop a tyre tied to a tree in episode 5 only because everybody else backed off, showing that they chose him. Instead of stopping it, he gets thrown in the air.
* HammerspaceHair: Attempts to create a hissatsu with his head, but fails. Granted, two soccer balls in one afro is still impressive.
-->''Shadow Hair!!''
* YouthfulFreckles: He has some freckles and due to being a first-year, he is one of the younger members.

!!Shourinji "Shourin" Ayumu / Tim "Timmy" Saunders
[[quoteright:277:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shourin_792.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Masako Jo (Japanese), Andrea Kwan and later Gloria Ansell (English, original anime), Angélica Villa (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"Although small bodied, he is a master of kung fu footwork."''

* AscendedFanboy: He's a fan of Manyuuji because of their martial arts skills. At the end of the second game, he becomes an honorary member.
* BadassAdorable: Justified, as he looks like a little kid who's shown to be quite capable at martial arts.
* [[spoiler: BaldOfEvil: As a Dark Emperor.]]
* FastballSpecial: In their Dark Emperor versions, he and Shishido learn a technique called Shooting Star, which involves his partner throwing him high in the air before doing a powerful kick towards the opponent.
* GlassCannon: His kicks are shown to be powerful, as seen when he frees Kabeyama who got stuck into a locker with a powerful kick, but he's rather physically weak and gets taken down rather easily, mainly seen in the matches against Zeus and Gemini Storm.
* InSeriesNickname: Usually just called Shourin. Timmy in the English dub.
* MeaningfulName: "Shourin" might be derived from "Shaolin", in refference to his martial arts skills.
* OlderThanHeLooks: Looks like he's several years younger than other characters, despite being only one year younger.
* OutOfFocus: He has a few hissatsu moves that contributes to the team, but outside of that, his personality and development aren't explored compared to the more outgoing members of the team.
* UnusualEyebrows: They kinda look like [[Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers England's.]]
* UseYourHead: Kung-Fu Head is a technique in which he shoots the ball towards the goal with his head.
* WingdingEyes: His eyes are naturally "+'s". He's not dead or dazed though.
** [[spoiler:Until he gets influenced by the Aliea Meteorite, after which he "opens" his eyes.]]

!!Matsuno "Max" Kuusuke / Maxwell "Max" Carson
[[quoteright:152:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/max_joining_the_club.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Yuuki Kodaira (Japanese), Ricardo Bautista and later Arturo Castañeda (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"Beneath his cute exterior is a multi-skilled sportsman."''

* BadassAdorable: He's described as a cute multi-talented sportsman.
* BrutalHonesty: His honesty makes him sometimes say things his teammates don't want to hear.
* CrossAttack: Cross Drive is a shoot technique which allows him to create an energy beam that looks like a cross.
* EvilRedhead: As a Dark Emperor.
* IconicItem: His trademark hat.
* InSeriesNickname: "Max", even in the dub.
* InformedAbility: His actual status in the game is forward, but he never plays that position, instead playing as a midfielder.
* InstantExpert: Well, not ''instant'', but he does catch on new sports pretty quick.
* NeverBareheaded: He is never seen without a hat with cat ears. He even has a special one for sleeping.
* JumpedAtTheCall: In the first episode, when Endou was searching for more members for the soccer club. He joined it because he wanted "to cure his boredom".
* OutOfFocus: He's part of the original Raimon with little screentime or depth to his character. This almost got subverted in season 3, but he failed to make it onto Inazuma Japan.
* ShadingColourDissonance: Despite having ginger hair, it's shaded black in the manga panels, similarly to the more dark-haired characters.

!!Kageno Jin / Jim Wraith
[[quoteright:267:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kageno_jin.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Creator/YuuichiNakamura (Japanese), Hugo Núñez (Latin American Spanish, anime)

''"The color of his eyes is a mystery thanks to his fringe."''

* AttentionWhore: He joined the soccer club becasue he wanted to be more appreciated, so he might not have had many friends before.
* TheBenchwarmer: After Domon joins the team, he gets demoted to reserve player for the rest of the first season. However, one of the Inazuma Eleven veterans, who was a reserve player himself in his youth, teaches him that he shouldn't hold back because of this.
* CastingAShadow: He knows a few shadow hissatsus in the game.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He might be gloomy and he often has a black aura, but he's still genuinely nice. Coincidentally, his name means almost the same thing.
* EyesOutOfSight: He has long V-shaped bangs which always obscure his eyes, giving him a ghostly-appearance.
* FirstNameBasis: In the video games, he is one of the few male characters (and the only one for his team) who are reffered to by their given name. Averted in the anime, where he is called by his last name, just like the other guys.
* JumpedAtTheCall: In the first episode, when Endou was looking for more members to join the soccer club, he joined it because he wanted his presence to be more visible.
* MeaningfulName: "Kage" means "shadow", something he considers himself due to failing to be noticed.
* NightmareFetishist: He is interested in dark and supernatural things, particularly ghosts.
* OutOfFocus: Just like the other members that only play for the main team in season 1. Perhaps even more so, because he spends most of the season as a reserve who's used only twice to replace an injured member, and he has one of the smallest record of matches he played of any member who joined the team.
* TheQuietOne: To the point that other characters tend to freak out when he speaks.
* RunningGag: He always scares other people when he appears out of nowhere or when they don't expect him to speak (which they never do).
* ShrinkingViolet: At least it's heavily implied, given his withdrawn and quiet nature, low self-esteem, hair covering his eyes and downright admiting at one point that he felt nervous after a simple conversation.
* SpinAttack: Coil Turn is a defense technique that involves spinning fast around the opponent in order to confuse them.
* StealthHiBye: Often comes up behind people unnoticed.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: He looks more like a young adult or someone in his late teens than a 14-years-old middle-schooler.

!!Megane Kakeru / William "Willy" Glass
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megane_4.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Nanae Katou (Japanese), David Lee [=McKinney=] (English, original anime), Alina Galindo (Latin American Spanish, original anime)

''"A highly popular student...[[SmallNameBigEgo or so he says!]]"''

* ADayInTheLimelight: Episode 9 is the only episode where he actually helps his team playing soccer instead of being a benchwarmer whose only contribution is to name techniques.
* AscendedExtra: As a result of more than half of the Season 1 Raimon players getting PutOnABus both at the start of and throughout Season 2, he ends up playing in a lot more matches in Season 2 than he did in Season 1 and gets more focus as a result, though he's still [[TheBenchwarmer always on the bench]] whenever the team has more than 11 players, save for the brief time between Tsunami joining the team and [[spoiler:Gouenji [[TheBusCameBack rejoining the team]]]], during which time [[spoiler:Fubuki is on the bench instead due to suffering from HeroicBSOD]].
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: Specializes in these kinds of hissatsu.
* BackupTwin: In the start of the 3rd season, it's revealed he has a younger (and much better in athletics) identical twin called Megane Kazuto, who ''would'' have been this if he'd been accepted into Inazuma Japan; as Kakeru moves on to become a manager.
* TheBenchwarmer: Due to being the weakest player in the Raimon team, he spends most of the matches on the bench, especially in season 1. He starts playing a bit more during the Aliea Academy Arc, since a lot of the original members are forced out of the team throughout the season.
* BerserkButton: He hates when other people name a hissatsu before him (unless he admits that it has a good name) or steal his line when he wants to explain something.
* BrainyBrunette: He has brown hair and he's quite nerdy.
* ButtMonkey: He's often not taken seriously or insulted by his teammates, especially when he tries to brag about things they know he isn't good at and fails humourously when he tries to prove them wrong. He's also the victim of many humourous gags.
* CombatCommentator: His main job is to name new techniques, sometimes in the middle of the matches, or explain various things about the game's rules and often gets upset when somebody else does so before him.
* GenreSavvy: He proves to be more of one than Shuuyou Meito when he figures out the animes which inspired them to cheat and divulges their secrets.
* HeroicSacrifice: Non-lethal, but in the match versus Shuuyou Meito he injures himself when he bounces the ball with his face to redirect it into the goal and help his team score.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: The Megane twins look almost identical, with the exception that Kakeru has blue glasses and one spike on each sides of his head, while Kazuto has purple glasses and two spikes on each side.
* JokeCharacter His stats are rather underwhelming across the board...
** LethalJokeCharacter: ..but from the second game onwards, he starts learning incredibly powerful moves like [[spoiler:''God Break'']] at high levels.
* JumpedAtTheCall: When Endou was searching for new members for the soccer club, he accepted this offer, but rather than joining it from the start, he waited until the team has only one member left so he could be "the hero who saves the team". However, he changes his mind after seeing how his teammates fell one after another because of Teikoku and from then on, he's almost always on the bench.
* MeaningfulName: "Megane Kakeru" literally means "wearing glasses" and he's the only member of the team who wears glasses.
* NerdGlasses: He wears the variant with thin and large frames, though they mainly seem large because of his small eyes.
** ScaryShinyGlasses: Used as a joke.
* NonActionGuy: Depending. Aside from the match against Shuuyou Meito, he doesn't really contribute with anything besides naming techniques in season 1, and the few times he plays aren't very good. He does play in most of the matches in season 2 (mainly as a filler spot, though), but becomes a full example of this trope in season 3 when he's demoted to manager.
* TheOneGuy: In the anime and game, he is the only manager in Inazuma Japan who is a guy.
* {{Otaku}}: He takes advantage of this when they have to play against a team of Otaku because he's able to figure out how the opponents cheated using a method they had seen in an anime.
* RunningGag: He (almost) always gets upset when somebody names a hissatsu before him.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Claims to be a soccer ace. He's really not.
* TheSmartGuy: The most analytical and technologically gifted member of the team, but doesn't have much skills in soccer compared to Kidou.
* ThemeTwinNaming: '''Ka'''keru has a twin brother named '''Ka'''zuto.
* ThisLoserIsYou: Perhaps unintentional, but surely many watchers can relate with how poor they are in sports of any sort.
* TooDumbToLive: He once fell in the ocean after going overboard in an attempt to see a coral in closer view, despite being warned not to do that and knowing well that he can't swim. Had it not been for Tsunami, he could have drowned.

''"Used to live in the USA. Behaves flippantly, but is deep-hearted."''

* AdaptedOut: He's one of the characters who don't appear in the manga adaptation.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: He's fairly dark-skinned, which isn't explained by him being Japanese and American and flashbacks show that he had this colour when he was younger.
* TheAtoner: Briefly in-game, vowing to chase Fuyukai when he plots for the Raimon Eleven to get into a bus accident.
* BadLiar: He lied as [[spoiler: TheMole and keeping the secret that Ichinose still needed surgery to Aki]]. The only reason why he never got caught in the first case was due to the team slowly becoming [[WideEyedIdealist more optimistic]] and he felt the same way, but didn't want her to be hurt.
* BecomingTheMask: At first, he joined Raimon as a spy sent from Teikoku, but joined the team for real after seeing how hard they were working.
* BrilliantButLazy: Only in his introduction as the new guy, though.
* CantCatchUp: One of the reasons why he ended up liking Raimon more than Teikoku is because he feels that he can catch up with the others, unlike with his former teammates. He also states that Endou is different from Ichinose, because unlike with the latter, who was always ahead of him, he can run and fight alongside Endou.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Ichinose, Aki, and Nishigaki.
* DemotedToExtra: He has a big role in the Football Frontier Arc because of his former role as a spy and his relationship with his childhood friends, as well as being one of the more active members on the field. In the Aliea Academy Arc, while he manages to be one of the few Season 1 Raimon players to avoid getting PutOnABus, he doesn't get as much focus besides mastering Death Zone 2, and is mostly OutOfFocus during the FFI Arc outside of the match between Inazuma Japan and Unicorn due to him playing for the latter team and is then PutOnABus afterwards.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: Mostly seen with his childhood friend Ichinose after the latter joins the team.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Samurai Defender" according to his Eleven License.
* TheMole: He was part of Teikoku until he joined Raimon as a spy.
** EvenEvilHasStandards: He quits being a spy after finding out their coach, another spy from Teikoku, plots to blow up the bus Raimon were using.
** HeelFaceTurn: Well, he wasn't really a bad guy in the first place, but apologizes for being a spy and joins the team for real.
* NewTransferStudent: He transferred from Teikoku to Raimon and joined their soccer club as a spy until BecomingTheMask. However, he goes back to America with Ichinose in the FFI arc, but they still come back for Raimon's graduation match.
* NiceGuy: He's generally a friendly and easy-going guy, which is why it didn't take long for him to enjoy his new team and pull a HeelFaceTurn.
* OddNameOut: In the first season, Domon is the only defender whose surname doesn't start with "K".
* PlayingWithFire: Volcano Cut. He roundhouses towards his target, making a wall of flames spouting out from the ground, similar to a volcanic eruption. Another notable fire hissatsu he knows is The Phoenix with Ichinose and Endou.
* PutOnABus: He and Ichinose leave the team in season 3 to play in America's national team.
* SlideAttack: Killer Slide involves him doing a slide to kick the ball away from the opponent.
* TakingTheBullet: In the match against Teikoku, he gets injured when he deflects one of the shots with his face to help Endou defend.

''"This comeback kid is known as the [[RedBaron midfield magician.]]"''

* TheAce: Especially in his debut episode, where he was on a higher level than anyone on the team, even Gouenji and Kidou. He's also known as a genius junior high player in general.
** BrokenAce: After being injured by a car, he moved away for medical treatment, and although he was able to overcome this at first, in the third season he learns that his injuries hadn't healed completely and recquires another operation, with little chance that he'll be able to play soccer again if he pushes himself too far. He tried to give his best in the match against Inazuma Japan and even scored two goals, but also tried to hide his sadness from his former teammates because he didn't want them to go easy on him.
* AdaptedOut: He is one of the characters who don't appear in Tenya Yabuno's manga.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Domon felt he was always behind, not alongside, Ichinose.
* AnimalBattleAura: Tri-Pegasus shows, well, a pegasus, and later evolves to The Phoenix, in reference to him coming back from his supposed death. Another hissatsu with an animal aura he knows is Pegasus Shot.
* AscendedExtra: He wasn't supposed to show up until the Aliea Arc, but in the anime he joins the team near the end of the first arc.
** His seiyuu was effectively confused by this. Kaji played the first game to get a grasp on Ichinose's character, only to find out he doesn't show up. He actually does show up, just in a hidden part of the game very few people bother to look for.
* BlowYouAway: Spinning Shoot. He creates a large whirlwind by spinning on his hands.
* BluntMetaphorsTrauma: Has a tendency to make mistakes in American sayings, but Aki corrects him.
* CannotSpitItOut: When he discovered he needs another surgery, he tried hiding his medical condition from most people in order to not worry them and because he really wanted to play against his former teammates. When he decided to tell Aki the truth, he hesitated, so he told her about joining a pro league team instead.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Aki, Domon, and Nishigaki.
** ChildhoodFriendRomance: Hinted to have developed into one with Aki by ''GO'' when Tenma asks her if she had received any calls from America lately.
* ChildProdigy: He was very proficient at soccer back when he was younger and played for America's junior team.
* {{Determinator}}: He didn't give up easily during Unicorn's match against Inazuma Japan, despite the fact that his injuries from his accident hadn't healed completely and won't be able to play soccer again if he pushes himself too far.
* DistressedDude: A milder example, but after being tricked by Rika to eat her 'lovey-dovey dish', she says to his teammates that he has to marry her and the only way for Raimon to take him back is through a soccer match against Osaka Gals.
* FakingTheDead: After being injured by a car when he jumped on the road to save a puppy, he moved away for medical treatment and heard that he won't be able to play soccer again, so he requested his father to tell his friends that he had died. Fortunately, his medical treatment and love for soccer helped him overcome this obstacle and visited his friends in Japan to tell them the good news.
* ForeignExchangeStudent: He transfers to Raimon from his school in America after canceling his flight due to deciding to stay there for a while. He comes back to his school in America after the FFI, but still comes back to play in Raimon's graduation match.
* FriendlyRival: Even if he was taken off the second half due to his medical condition, he claims that it was fun to play against Endou and his former teammates during Unicorn's match against Inazuma Japan.
* HeroicSacrifice: Even in saving a puppy, it counts.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Domon.
* IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy: [[spoiler:It seemed he was going to be set up as the UnluckyChildhoodFriend, and kept quiet when Aki tried to confess to Endou.]]
* ImpliedLoveInterest: According to Tenma's question if Aki had received any calls from America, he might have a romantic relationship with her in ''GO'', but it's never stated or confirmed to make it an OfficialCouple.
* InSeriesNickname: The Magician of the Field, as well as The Phoenix.
* LongDistanceRelationship: In ''GO'', Tenma asks Aki if she had received any recent calls from America, which hints to a romantic relationship between her Ichinose, who apparently still leaves in America.
* NiceGuy: He's especially nice to the girls and is shown to put their feelings above his own. Although he seems to have a crush on Aki, he doesn't show any grudge when he figures out she likes Endou and despite not liking Rika back in the way she does, he's usually patient with her and never snapped aside from a brief moment in the season 2 finale.
* PlayingWithFire: The Pheonix naturally falls under this, since it's based on the famous fire bird. He also learns Flame Dance, which involves him spinning upside down surrounded by flames.
* PosthumousCharacter: Subverted. He was just FakingTheDead.
* PutOnABus: He and Domon leave in the FFI arc to play in America's national team against Endou.
* SpinAttack: He has two hissatsu techniques that involve a spinning upside down motion: Spinning Shoot (a shoot hissatsu) and Flame Dance (a defense hissatsu).
* StepfordSmiler: When he learns he needs another operation, with a miniscule chance that he’d be able to play football ever again.

''"Under her guidance, any problem can be solved in no time at all."''

* ActionGirl: More so in the video game since her "The Tower" hissatsu often gets broken through in the anime.
* AdaptationalWimp: In the game, her The Tower hissatsu is nearly unstoppable if you train her well. In the anime, it's almost always destroyed by the enemy, along with Kabeyama's The Wall.
* AlliterativeName: '''V'''ictoria '''V'''anguard in the dub.
* BlushSticker: In-game.
* TheCaptain: Of SP Fixers. Doesn't wear a RedArmbandOfLeadership, however.
* FieryRedhead: Although the fiery part comes more from being a passionate tomboy rather than being hot-tempered.
* TheGadfly: She often makes Aki and Natsumi jealous when she becomes too close to Endou. At first she did it unintentionally, but later she starts to do it on purpose, just to see their reactions, after which she states that she was joking.
* GenkiGirl: She's very positive and upbeat, almost loving soccer as much as Endou does.
* GoroawaseNumber: The number on her Inazuma Japan jersey is 105, which can be pronounced "to-ko", like her name.
* HairColorDissonance: Her hair is supposodely red, but it often looks more like a pink.
* MeaningfulName: "To" means "tower", named after her signature hissatsu "The Tower".
* NeverBareheaded: She always wears a blue hat with yellow and white markings, even when sleeping. Averted by her adult self, who stopped wearing a hat.
* PassionateSportsGirl: She really loves soccer as much as the boys.
* RoseHairedSweetie: Her pink hair supports her cheerful and tomboyish attitude.
* ShockAndAwe: In the game, the final step of The Tower involves the lightning striking the ball to stop it. In the anime, while the lightning is still present, it's the stone tower that (sometimes) stops the ball instead.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Before Rika joined the team, she was the only female player from Raimon.
* TenderTomboyishnessFoulFemininity: Downplayed with her and Rika. They are both sporty girls, but Rika is generally more interested in feminine activities like cooking, fashion and cute guys compared to Touko (despite ironically being a richer girl). Touko is more level-headed and tends to get along well with everyone in the team, although she's not above annoying Aki and Natsumi by intentionally getting close to Endou. While Rika is not a complete meanie, she has some selfish moments, such as tricking Ichinose into marrying her (which ultimately doesn't happen) or pulling a PushedAtTheMonster on Touko and Haruna.
* ThoseTwoGirls: With Rika, particularly in season 3, where they're often watching the boys' matches and training sprees together.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The {{Tomboy}} to Rika's GirlyGirl.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Her and Rika are the only girls from Raimon.
* VitriolicBestBuds: Despite often arguing with Rika and finding her antics annoying, it's made clear they are best friends. Especially made evident when Touko became concerned about Rika when the latter was captured by the angels and wanted to save her.
* TheWorfEffect: Her The Tower hissatsu starts out pretty strong in the first episodes, but it becomes weaker later to show how strong the enemy is. At least it gets a bit better after it evolves.

* AccidentalAthlete: How he first created Senpuujin. When he accidentally tripped over, he started spinning on his hands and managed to stop Desarm's shoot.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Episode 100 is one for him and Hiroto, although they don't get any CharacterDevelopment or learn any new techniques.
* AnimeAccentAbsence: Despite being from Kyoto, he speaks regular Japanese.
* BondingOverMissingParents: With Haruna, who tells him that she understands his feeling of losing his parents since she also lost her parents in an accident. However, Kogure tells her that it's not the same case as his, since he was downright abandoned by his mother.
* BlazingInfernoHellfireSauce: One of his most recurring pranks is to pour over people's food chilli sauce which literally sets heir mouth on fire.
* BlowYouAway: Senpuujin involves creating a whirlwind by spinning fast on his hands.
* BrattyHalfPint: In his introduction, he acts rude towards his teammates in Manyuuji because he believes they're against him.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Becomes Manyuuji's captain by the end of the series.
* DevilishHairHorns: His hair is shaped into four horns, two on each side of his head, fitting his mischievous personality.
* DualModeUnit: In the second game, he's one of three characters who can use a special mechanic named Chara Change. His position stays the same, but in his normal form his default hissatsu is Senpuujin, while in his evil form it's the skill Yakubyougami.
* EvilLaugh: "Ushishishi".
* FragileSpeedster: Kogure is the fastest and most agile of the Raimon 2 and Inazuma Eleven defenders due to his martial arts and top-level ball control but he can’t take a hit outside of Senpujin and needs backup from the other defenders to mount an offensive counter attack.
* HiddenDepths: He didn't have the greatest childhood, so he gets excited over little things he hasn't experienced like plane flights and camping.
* HoistByHisOwnPetard: When he tries to prank Gouenji by putting chilli sauce in his food, he doesn't realize Gouenji already switched his plate with Kogure's, so he ends up being the one whose mouth catches fire.
* HypocriticalHumour: He gets angry when Someoka looks down on him, but he has no problem doing the same thing with other members, like Tachimukai.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: As Haruna realized, the reason why he prefers coming at his teammates who give him chores instead of letting him train, which makes him believe they don't think he's as good as them, through pranking them instead of through soccer, is because he's not confident in his own soccer. He gets over it pretty quickly with help from Haruna and his training with Furukabu.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He enjoys to mess up with people and insult them. But he can be nice if he wants and gets along well with Hiroto in episode 100.
* TheNapoleon: Very short but very rude and impulsive.
* OlderThanHeLooks: Lampshaded by Hijikata in episode 86. In his snazzy little tux, he looked like he was going to the ''Shichi-Go-San'' festival[[note]] which is a Japanese rite of passage for 3, 5, and 7 year-olds.[[/note]]
* ParentalAbandonment: His mother abandoned him at a train station when he was younger, which is what caused him to become a {{Jerkass}} who enjoys to mess up with people.
* PointyEars: He isn't inhuman, but his devil-like ears still suit his personality pretty well.
* PowerOfTrust: After being abandoned by his mother, he stopped trusting other people, even when they actually mean well, so he needs to learn this. And says he had by the end of Season 2.
* ThePrankster: He ''loves'' to prank other people. He doesn't care who the person is, but [[ButtMonkey Kabeyama and Megane]] in particular are victims of his pranks. The only one who has the slightest control over his pranks is Haruna and even she came at him once when she gave him a frog.
* RunningGag: Chili sauce in people's food, of course. And shaking hands with Haruna, only for him to give her a frog.
* SpinAttack: Senpuujin involves him spinning fast on his hands to stop an incomming ball.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: In season 2 and 3, he takes Shourin's place as the little guy skilled in martial arts. Personality-wize, however, he's a lot more childish and naughty than him.

''"An [[TheIdiotFromOsaka Osaka girl]] striker whose ability is second to none"''

* AbhorrentAdmirer: She's not unattractive – just clingy, and [[spoiler:Ichinose]] just doesn’t like her back in that way.
* ActionGirl: She's the captain and forward of an entire team of action girls.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: What makes it more confusing is that her mother is white, so either her DisappearedDad is dark-skinned or she's just heavily tanned.
* BareMidriffsAreFeminine: She's a GirlyGirlWithATomboyStreak who ties all her soccer uniforms into a knot to expose her midriff. In contrast, [[{{Tomboy}} Touko]] and the boys wear their shirts normally.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of CCC Osaka Gals.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: The girl is a scatterbrain with ideas that come right the hell out of nowhere, has numerous ShipTease fantasies that wouldn't make any sense, and is bizarre even for Endou and Touko to handle at times.
* CustomUniform: In addition to [[BareMidriffsAreFeminine lifting the soccer jersey up]], she also ties the jacket to her tracksuit around her waist.
* DamselInDistress: For a short arc in the FFI, set up to wed the Demon Lord.
* DeepSouth: In the dub, as the standard AccentAdaptation of her Osakan roots. Her last name spells it out pretty clearly.
* DisappearedDad: Her conversation with her mom when she brings Ichinose to her house for the first time reveals her father left them.
* TheIdiotFromOsaka: Rika and her team are from Osaka, but she is far from the brightest ball in the shed. She also isn't intelligent outside of soccer.
* LoveAtFirstSight: In her debut episode, she falls in love with Ichinose the moment she sees him.
* LoveFreak: She's obsessed with romance and the interactions betweenother characters that she sees as potential couples. This includes:
** She's awfully interested in Touko and Tsunami's interactions, but that ship never sets sail.
** She later becomes interested in an Endou/Fuyuka pairing when she notices the latter's concern with trying to help Endou come up with an idea for a new hissatsu. She tricks Fuyuka into following some tips that will inspire Endou which are really just tips for a date, but in the end Rika's plan backfired due to Endou [[ChasteHero knowing nothing about romance]]. In this case, she doubles as TheMatchmaker.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: Towards Ichinose, she always gets too close to him for his comfort.
* PassionateSportsGirl: The other thing is passionate about besides romance is soccer.
* PetalPower: Rose Splash. When Rika shoots the ball towards the goal, the trajectory is covered by a trail of roses.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: After buying lots of stuff from the Liocotte Island, she suggests Touko to call up the FFI Administration Committee and have them send a limousine so they'll take care of all the baggage and believes they can get away with this if they tell them that Touko is the Prime Minister's daughter. Touko isn't exactly supportive of the prospect.
* SelfProclaimedLoveInterest: Claims to be in a romantic relationship with Ichinose and introduces him to her mother as her boyfriend. Doesn't realise he's not interested in her, even when he explicitly tries to tell her that he's not her boyfriend.
* SirNotAppearingInThisTrailer: She doesn't appear at all in the "Maji de Kansha" opening.
* SmallNameBigEgo: She considers herself the best striker in the team, or as she prefers to say, "The Queen of the field". While not as bad as Megane, this is still far from the truth. When she tries to steal the ball from Gouenji during practice to prove herself, she loses it immediately. Also, Gouenji, Fubuki and Aphrodi have stronger hissatsu that score better, while Rika rarely managed to score with any of her techniques.
* SupremeChef: Makes excellent Okonomiyaki, as seen when Ichinose liked her "Lovey-Dovey-Dish". Justified, since her mother works in a restaurant.
* TenderTomboyishnessFoulFemininity: Downplayed with her and Touko.
* ThoseTwoGirls: With Touko.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: The GirlyGirl to Touko's {{Tomboy}}. She's as interested in soccer as Touko, but unlike her, she's also interested in things like love and fashion and has an overall more feminine casual outfit.

* AscendedFanboy: He was originally a big fan of Endou who aspired to be a goalkeeper and learned to do his hissatsu techniques by watching him on television. He ends up being his teammate and even fulfills his role as a goalkeeper when Endou plays as a libero.
* TheBenchwarmer: As the reserve goalkeeper of Inazuma Japan, he is the member who played the least matches in the Football Frontier International. He only played as a goalkeeper when Endou was benched at the beginning of the match against Fire Dragon and when Endou was absent during the match against The Empire. He also played as a midfielder once, against Desert Lion.
* BigBrotherMentor: Plays this role to Shinsuke when the latter assumes the goalkeeper post in ''GO''.
* ColourCodedForYourConvenience: His Majin is blue, wood elemental, contrast to Endou's earth elemental golden Majin.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Becomes Yokato's captain by the end of the series.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Legendary Successor" according to his Eleven License[[note]]Tachimukai and Tsunami are the only charactes who didn't appear in ''Ares'' or ''Orion'', but still got their own Eleven License[[/note]].
* InstantExpert: Was able to master God Hand techniques by watching Endou do them on ''television.''
* IrritationIsTheSincerestFormOfFlattery: He became a fan of Endou after watching him on television and learned his hissatsu techniques as a result. After Kogure calls him a copycat, he becomes determined to learn his own unique hissatsu.
* LethalChef: He's oblivious to the fact that his food is too spicy since he likes spicy food.
* MegaManning: He was able to copy God Hand just by watching Endou repeatedly on TV.
* PowerOfTheGodHand: He has a blue version of the God Hand.
* ShrinkingViolet: Downplayed. He's fairly shy, but not cripplingly so.
* UnaffectedBySpice: He enjoys spicy food, and actually foils one of Kogure's pranks by shrugging off the heat from a dish that Kogure had sabotaged by adding a fiery sauce to. Kogure tries the same dish and instantly regrets it.
* TheWorfEffect: His main goalkeeping hissatsu, Mugen The Hand, is often broken through and after a while it doesn't work without evolving and then the circle repeats itself. Justified, he's a first year rookie that needs to catch to the number one soccer team, aliens, and the rest of the world.

* AnimeAccentAbsence: Despite being from Okinawa, he speaks regular Japanese.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateAppearance: His hair resembles a starfish, which is appropriate given his connection to the sea.
* BigBrotherMentor: To Tachimukai in season 3, helping him master his new unique hissatsu, and to Tenma in the ''GO'' game, whom he encourages when the latter is given the role of the captain.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Oumihara. Anime only, though.
** Considering he had only been playing soccer for a day or two at that point, fanon usually considers it a joke.
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Compared to the vastness of the ocean, this is nothing (to worry about)!"
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He doesn't like carrots. Somehow, Fuyuka knew this and prepared for him carrot jelly, which he actually likes.
* GogglesDoNothing: They do while surfing, but not on the football pitch.
* GoroawaseNumber: The number on his surfboar is 273, which can be read as "tsu-na-mi", like his name.
* ImageSong: ''Bad Boys Brothers' Blues''.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Surfing Defender" according to his Eleven License[[note]]Tsunami and Tachimukai are the only charactes who didn't appear in ''Ares'' or ''Orion'', but still got their own Eleven License[[/note]].
* InformedAbility: His status as a defender is pretty much this in the anime, since he doesn't have any individual defensive techniques, only offensive. In fact, when Tachimukai wanted to learn a new [=GK=] technique and the first-years tried to help him, he ended up being more helpful than them for having stronger kicks, despite being a defender like them.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: Since he's laid-back and doesn't mind being treated oddly by others (e.g.being addressed without honorifics by the juniors), he doesn't realise when he says something offensive to others, like annoying Touko for stating soccer is easier than surfing and the managers for saying they look better than he thought when he sees them in their formal dresses.
* {{Leitmotif}}: He has a bouncy theme music that is mainly heard when he goes surfing.
* MakingASplash: He has water based hissatsus.
* MeaningfulName: Tsunami is a pun on the eponymous natural disaster, fitting his [[MakingASplash sea-related]] techniques (a few of them even contain the word "tsunami").
* MellowFellow: An easy-going guy who treats most difficult things lightly.
* MrFanservice: He has a good number of shirtless scenes, mostly in the second season, he has a nice tan and he's considered handsome by many in the fandom. It helps that he's also older than the others.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: When he was serious, his team (Oumihara) quickly came to the conclusion that he felt sick.
* PerpetualSmiler: He is usually cheerful and laid-back.
* PluckyGirl: He always takes difficult things lightly, stating that it's nothing compared to surfing.
* ShirtlessScene: He has a lot of these due to being a surfer.
* SurferDude: He's introduced as a normal surfer dude and even after he starts to play soccer all his techniques are related to the sea and usually mentions it when making comparisons. In the dub, he also has the accent, often using words like "dude".
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: He's afraid of plane flights.
** FunnyBackgroundEvent: "TAKE ME BACK TO THE OCEAAAAN...!!"

!!Yamino "Shadow" Kageto / Shadow Cimmerian
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yamino_kageto.png]]
-->'''Voiced by''': Kensuke Satou (Japanese)
''"A soldier born out of darkness. His power is overwhelming."''

* CastingAShadow: Dark Tornado. It's like Fire Tornado, but made of dark flames instead of the standard orange ones. He also learns mostly shadow hissatsu in the game.
* DarkIsNotEvil: He is mostly a decent person, despite being a gloomy goth who is a darkness-elemental.
* {{Guyliner}}: He seems to wear black eyeliner.
* InSeriesNickname: Mostly called Shadow.
* MeaningfulName: "Yami" means darkness and "Kage" means shadow. Both are related to his personality, element and the latter is also where he gets his nickname from.
* NewTransferStudent: He transferred to Raimon during the Aliea Gakuen arc. In the dub, Kidou mentions that he comes from Mikage Sennou, even though his original school is not stated in the Japanese version.
* OutOfFocus: The ''most'' out-of-focus member from Raimon, in no part due to playing for the team mostly off-screen.
* RefusalOfTheCall: He didn't join the Inazuma Caravan in season 2. It's not because he wouldn't have liked to, he just felt like his shoot wasn't ready yet.
* SpinAttack: Dark Tornado is similar in usage to Fire Tornado in that it involves a spinning in the air motion before shooting towards the goal.
* TeamMemberInTheAdaptation: In the video games, he's no more than a recurring scout character, therefore not a canon member for Raimon. In the anime, he becomes an official member in the last two seasons.

''"A very mysterious youth who went by the name "Tobi the Kicker"''

* AnimeHair: Probably has the most outrageous hairstyle in the entire original series, [[FashionDissonance including even Aliea students]]. His purple hair is shoulder-length and he sports a bird-shaped pompadour.
* AnimalMotifs: He's associated with hawks. His hair is also shaped like a bird.
* BlowYouAway: His main hissatsu Shinkuuma displaces the air in front of the kick, drawing the air and the ball into that spot. It also creates a sort of dark void which looks like a shadow.
* BullyHunter: He isn't on good terms with his rival Karasu and his gang and when they were about to harm his teammates, he stood up to the bullies and was willing to let the team go to the stadium without him. However, one of his delinquent friends' gang offers to fight them in his place.
* CastingAShadow: His main hissatsu Shinkuuma[=/=]Hollow Demon is actually a wind hissatsu, but the void it creates makes it look like a darkness hissatsu.
* CharacterTics: When insecure, he combs his hair.
%%* DeathGlare
* DelinquentHair: Sports a pompadour.
* FaceOfAThug: He might have the scary face of a delinquent, but he's still nice compared to the likes of Karasu and his gang and cares for his friends.
* IconicItem: He's never seen without his comb.
* ImageSong: ''Bad Boys Brothers' Blues''
* InSeriesNickname: Tobi the Kicker.
* JapaneseDelinquents: Before joining Inazuma Japan, he was the leader of a gang of delinquents who often got into fights and still has shades of this in the beginning.
* MeaningfulName: "Taka" means "hawk", fitting his symbol animal. In the game, he also learns the Hawk Shot technique.
* TheQuietOne: Won't talk unless you approach him first.
* RebelRelaxation: He's introduced doing this leaning against the wall pose (while combing his hair, no less).
* SupremeChef: In episode 101, he is shown to be a very good cook (although Toramaru thinks he still has to improve). [[spoiler:This leads him into taking up Hibiki's position as chef of [=RaiRaiKen=] in ''GO''.]]
* UnusualEyebrows: Not having any, that is.
* TheWatcher: In ''GO'' to an extent [[spoiler:because he does take action in trying to get Kidou to lighten Raimon's training menu.]]
* WarriorTherapist: Despite his appearance, he looks out for anyone [[AFatherToHisMen under his leadership]].

''"A fan of Gouenji's with an unknown amount of potential."''

* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: His mother is probably single, since when she became ill, Toramaru took the reins of running the restaurant, not his father.
* AnimalBattleAura: One of his his hissatsu techniques is Tiger Drive, which conjures the titular beast.
* CheerfulChild: Despite being rather shy in the beginning, he shows his true energetic personality and true strenght after revealing his past.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Both his hair and eyes are a black stylized as dark blue.
* FirstNameBasis: One of the few Japanese male characters who are called by their first name.
* MeaningfulName: "Tora" means "tiger", a reference to his AnimalBattleAura.
* MommasBoy: Non-negative example. He is very close to his mother and he does feel homesick at some point (mostly due to worrying about her health), but he's also independent for his age.
* NumberTwo: [[spoiler:He's Ishido Shuuji/Gouenji Shuuya's right-hand man]] in ''GO''.
* PurpleIsTheNewBlack: His hair is black, but it's stylized as dark blue.
* TallPoppySyndrome: Caused his teammates from gradeschool to resent him, so he started holding himself back during plays to give others the chance for glory.
* StormOfBlades: His Gladius Arch hissatsu conjures up a number of short swords and sends them flying at the goal along with the ball.
* SupremeChef: Despite his age, he's a good cook, even lecturing Tobitaka about cooking. Justified, as he's a kid who runs a restaurant. If he wasn't he'd be out of business.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: The rest of Inazuma Japan thought he was their age. Nope, he's eleven.

!!Hijikata Raiden / Thor Stoutberg
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hijikata_04.png]]
-->'''Voiced By''': Sakurazuka Yakkun (Japanese), Jorge Ornelas (Latin American Spanish, anime)

''"A southern power player with a big heart who's great at taking care of others."''

* AmbiguouslyAbsentParent: His parents are never seen or mentioned[[note]]His father is briefly mentioned when he says that Onigawara is an old friend of his family, but doesn't give any hints if he's alive/missing or not[[/note]]. He probably doesn't have considering he's the one who takes care of his younger siblings and when he left Okinawa to join Inazuma Japan, he left them in the hands of an acquaintance, but the reason for his parents' absence is not clear.
* AscendedExtra: Even though he was introduced in the second game, he wasn't relevant in the story mode until the third game, when he joined Inazuma Japan. And even then, he didn't have any significant plot (see OutOfFocus). In the anime, his role is expanded in both corresponding seasons.
** In season 2, he was the one who took care of Gouenji and provided him a place to hide from three messengers who were threatening him to harm his sister if he didn't join Aliea Academy.
** In season 3, he had an important part in helping the Kingdom's members escape from Garshield's influence and not be afraid to play their own soccer.
* BerserkButton: He hates watching people not giving their all or being unable to support someone if he has the ability. Part of why his anger with Roniejo stems from the latter's seem of uncare now that he should be free from Garshield's influence.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He became angry when Endou accidentally made his siblings cry.
* BoisterousBruiser: He’s big, loud, but a fun loving person that speaks with his heart, and is a physical powerhouse on the soccer field.
* GiantFootOfStomping: Super Shikofumi creates a giant foot above his head that stomps the opponent and steals his ball.
* HereditaryHairstyle: He has bi-colored hair in a similar style as his siblings.
* LargeHam: While usually composed, he occasionally slips into his larger than life persona and has fun with it.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: He has five younger siblings.
* MeaningfulName: In both Japanese and English, he's named after a god of thunder, which fits the type of hissatsu techniques he has.
* OutOfFocus: He isn't given even a small plot, unlike the other new members. The animé changes this by switching him into Gouenji's role dealing with Mac Roniejo and his teammates' families when it's revealed that The Kingdom's coach has been blackmailing them.
* PromotionToParent: He is the eldest of several siblings, and cares for them in his parents' stead, who are missing for an unknown reason.
* ShockAndAwe: Like his dub name, most of his hissatsu techniques are lightning based. Blade Attack is a drop kick result in a lightning blast hitting the ground and cutting through the earth, and Thunder Beast is a combination hissatsu where Hijikata kicks the ball powered up by yellow lightning as a pass to Fubuki, who kicks to combine his lightning and Fubuki’s ice into a literal Thunder Beast.
* SleevesAreForWimps: His soccer uniform is sleeveless, to show his muscular arms.
* YoungerThanHeLooks: He's sometimes mistaken as not being a student because of this.

* TheCavalry: He travels back from the future in time to help Raimon defeat Ogre and also brings some of his future friends.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Green hair and green eyes.
* GenerationXerox: Acts a lot like his great grandfather, Endou Mamoru.
* KidFromTheFuture: He is Endou and Natsumi's great grandson.
* MeaningfulName: His name Kanon is a reference to his hissatsu God Cannon.
* TheBusCameBack: Returned as a libero for the ''Inazuma Best Eleven'' for the Inazuma Eleven Chou Jigen Dream Match. How he was contacted to do so and got back from the future is anyone's guess.

''"Supports the team as a strategist, coordinating the other players."''

* AmbiguouslyBrown: He's fairly dark-skinned, but it isn't exactly clear what he's supposed to be.
* AnimalBattleAura: Penguins. He is involved in almost every Penguin-related technique, except for Emperor Penguin X. [[spoiler:Yes, even Space Penguin.]]
* BlackEyesOfCrazy: While part of Shin Teikoku, his right eye is visible through a hole in his eyepatch, and it looks like this.
* BreakoutCharacter: He started off as a rather minor character, but became part of the main cast in the third season, perhaps because of his popularity.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Becomes Teikoku's captain in ''Ares'' after Kidou leaves the team.
* CantCatchUp: Felt this way about Kidou, which is why he joined Shin Teikoku.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Fudou's seiyuu lampshades this trope when he refers to him as the [[ClingyJealousGirl jealous girl]] in a love triangle with Kidou and Fudou.
* EtTuBrute: He was manipulated by Fudou to join Shin Teikoku for feeling hurt that Kidou left his teammates after they were injured. However, he eventually accepts Kidou as a member of Raimon.
* EyepatchOfPower: Possibly given to him by Kageyama for the same reason as Kidou's goggles.
* {{Expy}}: He looks an awful lot like [[VideoGame/XenoGears Sigurd]], but a lot younger.
* HeelFaceTurn: Along with the rest of Teikoku after they realize it was a mistake to follow Kageyama's orders.
** HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Becomes heel again after Kageyama manages to turn him and Genda against Kidou and convinces them to join Shin Teikoku, but becomes a permanent face after being defeated and in the third season, he joins Inazuma Japan after he and Someoka replace Fubuki and Midorikawa.
* HeroicRedRingOfDeath: After using [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Emperor Penguin No.1]] three times, enough to cripple his leg so badly he might not be able to play soccer again. He gets better.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Teikoku's Musketeer" according to his Eleven License.
* InsistentTerminology: In the manga ''Heir of Penguins'', he corrects Haizaki everytime he gives nicknames to his seniors or calls them without honorifics.
* JackOfAllStats: In the anime at least, he played every position on the field except goalkeeper. His main position is forward, but he sometimes plays as a midfielder for Inazuma Japan and he's a defender in the crossover movie.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Mostly when [[spoiler: he's influenced by the Aliea Meteorite]] and in ''GO'', when he has longer hair.
* NumberTwo: To Kidou.
* TheNotLoveInterest: To Kidou. Often joked about in cast/staff interviews.
* OneSteveLimit: In the dub he's one of at least three characters named David, along with David Quagmire (Saginuma) and David Evans (Daisuke).
* PowerMakesYourHairGrow: [[spoiler: While part of Shin Teikoku,]] he gets longer hair.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Either played straight or averted, [[HeelFaceRevolvingDoor depending on what side the he's at the moment]]. Although his eyes are more orange-red in colour.
* RhymeThemeNaming: The two members of Teikoku who joined Shin Teikoku in season 2 have rhyming first names: '''Jirou''' and Ko'''jirou'''.
* SharpDressedMan: In ''GO''.

* AnimalBattleAura: Beast Fang shows either a Panther or a Lynx.
* EtTuBrute: Fudou manipulated him to join Shin Teikoku for feeling hurt that Kidou left his teammates after they were injured. However, he doesn't hold a grudge for too long.
* ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin: His dub name: Joseph King. His title: "The King of Keepers".
* GoodScarsEvilScars: In his Shin Teikoku guise he has two scar-like marks over his right eye (they're probably not ''actual'' scars since they disappear once he goes back to normal).
* HeelFaceTurn: Along with the rest of Teikoku after they realize it was a mistake to follow Kageyama's orders.
** HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: Becomes heel again after Kageyama manages to turn him and Sakuma against Kidou and convinces them to join Shin Teikoku. Like Sakuma, he becomes good after Shin Teikoku's defeat, but unlike him, he doesn't get selected to join Inazuma Japan, instead he joins Neo Japan, a team that tries to replace Japan's current representative team. Becomes a permanent face after Neo Japan's loss.
* HeroicRROD: After using [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Beast Fang]]. He was injured, but not as badly as Sakuma. He gets better.
* RedBaron: Genou, which can translate into "The King of Goalkeepers". This is really only used in the video games.
* RhymeThemeNaming: The two members of Teikoku who joined Shin Teikoku have rhyming first names: '''Jirou''' and Ko'''jirou'''.
* StoneWall: He is the ''[[RedBaron King of Keepers]]'' for a reason.

* TheCaptain[=/=]RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Nose.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: Like his teammates, he believes he's an animal and has very little knowledge about modern technology, like cars, since he's never seen one before.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: He might be a noisy idiot who lacks common sense, but he's a very good jumper.
* InSeriesNickname: Niwatori, which means "chicken".
* LittleBitBeastly: Sort of. The members of Nose are humans with animal characteristics, in his case those of a rooster or chicken.

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: In the dub, his team is named "Brainwashed Jr High", as a reference to how the players were brainwashed in order to get stronger.
* TheCaptain[=/=]RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Mikage Senou.
* EmotionlessBoy: His entire team is made of soulless players with no emotions left after being brainwashed in an attempt to improve their skills. Until being beaten by Raimon, he doesn't understand the idea of soccer being fun.
* FirstNameBasis: For some reason, all the members of his team are called by their given name in the video games.
* IcyGrayEyes: He has teal-gray eyes and certainly fits the cold and unapproachable type, at least in the beginning.
* PassingTheTorch: He gives the captain role to his best friend Arata after graduating middle school.
* RocketPunch: Rocket Kobushi forms an energy fist in his right arm, which he fires towards the shoot to stop it. His Dark Emperor version knows an evolution named Double Rocket, which does the same with both of his fists.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Arata, at least in season 1. In season 2 he's seen with Shadow instead.
* TookALevelInCheerfulness: He's shown to be friendlier and more expressive in season 2 after his team stopped following their coach's orders.

-->'''Voiced by:''' Kayo Yunagi (Japanese), Scott Evans and later Sarah Hauser (English, original anime)

* BrainwashedAndCrazy: Like the rest of Mikage. His game bio says that he used to be nice before becoming agressive due to brainwashing.
* TheCaptain: He's Mikage's captain in ''Ares'' after Sugimori's graduation.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: A bit. He has pink hair and fairly visible eyelashes. His ''Ares'' design exaggerated his eyelashes, making him look even more like a girl.
* EmotionlessBoy: Same as Sugimori.
* FirstNameBasis: Mostly called by his first name, Arata, even in the anime (unlike Sugimori, who is only called in the games).
* IcyGrayEyes: Like Sugimori, he fits the cold and unapproachable type. He's also one of the few characters with literally gray eyes rather than bluish-gray or dark gray/black.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Data Brave Leader" according to his Eleven License.
* MeaningfulName: His first name means "revision", a reference to Mikage Sennou's strategy of analysing their opponents with statistics.
* PlayingWithFire: He used Fire Tornado during Mikage Sennou's training and his challenge with Endou.
* PowerCopying: He copied Gouenji's Fire Tornado after gaining Raimon's data and Saginuma's Gungnir V2 when he played for Neo Japan.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Sugimori.

!!Noberu Raito / Light Nobel
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/novel.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Koichi Yamadera (Japanese), Dave Bridges (English, original anime)

* {{Bowdlerize}}: In the game, his team uses more dirty tricks to win the matches, including altering the match results by hacking into the FF's database and making the members of Raimon eat poisoned food at a Maid Cafe. In the anime, their dirty tricks resume to hissatsu techniques, like Goal Zurashi, which moves the goal away from the shot, Gorimuchuu, which is used to obscure the former hissatsu and Fake Ball, which involves the ball being replaced with a watermelon.
* BrokenPedestal: Megane recognizes him as the author of one of his favourite manga series, Princess Magical Nana Silky, but is disappointed when his team cheats during the match using methods they had seen in animes.
* TheCaptain[=/=]RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Shuuyou Meito in the anime.
* InSeriesNickname: He's mostly called Novel, even in the dub.
* MeaningfulName[=/=]PunnyName: "Raito Noberu" is {{Engrish}} for "light novel", a reference of his hobby, that of being a manga writer.
* OpaqueNerdGlasses: He wears opaque glasses and he's an Otaku.
* {{Otaku}}: He's the author of a manga series, as well as the captain of a team of Otakus who want to win so that they can use the prize money to go to America to get Cosmic Pretty Reina, a limited edition doll.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Mangaka.

* AlliterativeName: Both his last and first name start with "M".
* ArtsyBeret: He's a manga artist who wears a beret with a pencil, brush and paint splatter sticking out of it.
* BrokenPedestal: Megane recognizes him as the artist of his favourite manga series, Princess Magical Nana Silky, but is equally disappointed in him for cheating during the match.
* TheCaptain[=/=]RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Shuuyou Meito in the manga (no pun intended).
* InSeriesNickname: He's mostly called Mangaka.
* MeaningfulName: Manga is a Japanese comic and "moe" can be translated as "pseudo-love". His name roughly means "lover of Japanese comics".
* NerdGlasses: Like Novel, but their lens are transparent instead of being opaque. In fact, many of his teammates wear glasses.
* OneSteveLimit: In the dub, his first name is the same as Mark Evan's and Mark Krugger's.
* {{Otaku}}: He's the artist of a manga series and part of a team of Otakus.

* TheCaptain[=/=]RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Sengoku Igajima.
* DishingOutDirt: Tsuchidaruma, which involves the ball getting covered in dirt as it rolls. He can also clear the ball of dirt before it hits the goal.
* MaliciousMisnaming: He intentionally forgets Kazemaru's name and calls him "Fujimaru", while in the dub he calls him "Speedy Green Hair".
* {{Ninja}}: He's the captain of a team which is rumoured to be trained by real ninjas. His uniform is also ninja-like, with a t-shirt worn over a fishnet undershirt.
* TheRival: Mostly to Kazemaru because they're both fast.
* WorthyOpponent: At the end of the match, Kazemaru tells him that he enjoyed playing against him and he thinks the same about Kazemaru.

* AlliterativeName: Masaru, both in the original and in the dub.
* TheCaptain[=/=]RedArmbandOfLeadership: Masaru becomes the captain of Kidokawa Seishuu after Gouenji transfers to Raimon due to his sister accident.
* CoolShades: They wear matching orange shades with white frames, which are about the only cool thing about their designs.
* {{Gonk}}: They have big weenie-like lips and strange haircuts, which are made fun off even in the show.
* HalfIdenticalTwins: Exaggerated as they're triplets. They also look almost identical, except for their hair colours and slightly different haircuts, although all of them sport mowhawks.
* InSeriesNickname: Masaru's title is "The Commander of the Bond" according to his Eleven License.
* OddNameOut: Masaru, for being the only one whose name doesn't start with "T".
* SeriesContinuityError: In the original games, they're described as third-year students, while in the ''Galaxy'' game, they're described as second-years. ''Ares'' went with the latter canon.
* SameSexTriplets: They are all brothers.
* SiblingTeam: They are all brothers who play in the same team, which they try to lead to victory without the others' help.
* VerbalTic: All of them end their sentences with "like yeah".

* ChildhoodFriends: With Aki, Domon and Ichinose.
* IrritationIsTheSincerestFormOfFlattery: According to his description in the games, his hairstyle is inspired from a pro soccer player.
* NewTransferStudent: He transfered to Kidokawa Seishuu in the second year of middle school because of his parents finding a new job.
* OneSteveLimit: His first name is the same as Endou Mamoru's.

''"His [[AgentPeacock elegant and artistic style]] leaves his opponents spellbound."''

* AdaptationalNationality: In the original timeline, he's eventually revealed to be Korean when he plays for its national team, Fire Dragon. In ''Orion no Kokuin'', he joins Inazuma Japan, which means he's at least partially Japanese.
* AGodAmI: [[spoiler:But not for long]].
* AgentPeacock: Long flowing hair, check. Long eyelashes, check. Elegant style, check. Named after a goddess, ''check''.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: [[spoiler:In ''GO''.]]
** [[spoiler:Averted after we learn Ishido's true motives.]]
** FriendlyEnemy: He sided with neither Fifth Sector or the rebellion. His objective was to help Kidokawa Seishuu repair their unity, and he showed a lot of respect for Raimon.
* TheAtoner: After his team loses to Raimon, he watches every match between them and Aliea and asks Endou to join them before the match against Diamond Dust to make up for his past mistakes, even telling them that he'll never use the Aqua of the Gods again. He helps them win the match and during the match against Chaos, he scores some points for them, but gets injured in the second half when he tries to get through their tough defense. He's also concerned about Fubuki and is an important factor in helping him recover from his split personality.
* BadassFingersnap: Heaven's Time is activated by him snapping his fingers, which creates a BulletTime, and after he goes past the slowed down opponents, he snaps his fingers again, which reverts time to normal ''and'' creates cyclones which send the opponents in the air.
* BreakOutCharacter: The fact that he was one of the characters voted the most by fans to join Inazuma Japan in ''Orion'' is what earned him a place in the team, meaning became part of the main team and for a longer time than when he joined Raimon in season 2.
* BulletTime: Heaven's Time allows him to stop or slow down time and dribble past the defence easily and after the effects wear off, the opponents are blown away.
* ButNotTooForeign: While he studies in Japan, he's at least partially Korean. Confirmed by WordOfGod to be a first-generation Korean.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Zeus.
* CharacterTics: Has a tendency to comb his hair with his fingers.
* DudeLooksLikeALady: Very much so, but then again, he's supposed to be attractive; Several characters in the dub say he looks like a girl and sometimes call him "Girly Boy". In the manga ''[=HonoSuto=]! ~Gouenji no Hitorigoto~'', the Mukata triplets mistake him for one.
* ElementalHairColors: His blond hair fits his light element.
* FinalBoss: His team is the last one Raimon has to face off to win the Football Frontier tournament. In the game, they can be challenged again as Ura Zeus, which is the last and strongest team in the first game.
* GuestStarPartyMember: In the show, he joined the Caravan for a match and a half.
* HeelFaceTurn: After Zeus loses to Raimon, he sets aside the Aqua of the Gods and starts to train hard by himself. He then joins them for a while and helps them in the matches against Diamond Dust and Chaos, but leaves the team after getting injured in the latter match.
* InSeriesNickname:
** His title is "Ruler of the Sky" according to his Eleven License.
** In the English dub of the anime, because of his [[DudeLooksLikeALady feminine appearance]], several characters give him the nickname "Girly boy".
* LightEmUp: His shot type hissatsus involve the ball being charged with a bright light.
* LightIsNotGood: He might be a light elemental with golden hair who wears a white uniform, but he's also the FinalBoss of the first game.
** [[spoiler:The "not good" part is true only in the beginning. After his HeelFaceTurn he turns out to be [[LightIsGood quite likable]].]]
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: Possibly the most exaggerated example. He's an AgentPeacock with extremely long hair.
* MistakenForRomance: Due to his appearance, the Mukata triplets mistake him for Gouenji's girlfriend when they see them hanging out at a fair.
* MundaneUtility: In one chapter from Gouenji's spinoff manga, he uses his technique Heaven's Time on goldfish, essentially stopping time for them, to help Gouenji catch some fish.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: His real name is Afuro, but the only one who ever calls him by his name is Tenma in the ''Chou Jigen Dream Match'' movie. Everybody else, including the commentators, calls him Aphrodi.
* PowerGivesYouWings: All his shot type hissatsu, God Knows and its evolved forms, involve him growing wings and flying up into the sky before storing his energy into the ball.
* PrettyBoy: Because he's named after the goddess of beauty, he's intentionally designed to look as pretty as possible. His introduction in Inazuma Japan Orion catches the girls' attention.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Especially when he gets angry, his eyes start [[GlowingEyesOfDoom glowing]], becoming a brighter shade of red.
* SharpdressedMan: In ''GO'', he wears a black tuxedo with a white dress shirt underneath and a red tie.
* SuperSerum: The Zeus' players [[AGodAmI think they're gods]], but they were just using a performance-enhancing serum named Aqua of the Gods to power themselves up.
* SupernaturalFloatingHair: One of the side effects of the Aqua of the Gods is that his hair starts floating when he becomes angry.
* TemporaryBulkChange: He temporarily gets bigger muscles as a side effect of the Aqua of the Gods.
* ThemeNaming: All of Zeus' players are named after gods and goddesses. He's named after ''the goddess of beauty''.
* TimeMaster: Heaven's Time. See BulletTime above.

''"An aloof rebel who uses trick plays to mess with his opposing players."''

* AdaptationDyeJob: In the original series, he's mostly depicted with teal-gray eyes, while in ''Ares'' they are dark green. Also, his skin tone isn't as pale as it used to be.
* AloofAlly: In the third season. He prefers to solve his problems himself and even lied to Kidou and Sakuma about Kageyama not being on the island to stop him by himself. However, after the match against Team K, he finally starts to understand that he needs his friends and warms up to them.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: No one in Inazuma Japan is convinced he comes with clean motives. They're wrong.
* AmbitionIsEvil: After his father left his family, his mother told him to become stronger and not end up like his father, but he mistook what she meant and became power-hungry and arrogant.
* AnimalBattleAura: He's part of the Koutei Penguin 3gou trio along with Kidou and Sakuma.
* TheBenchwarmer: In the beginning, he is not allowed to play any matches for Inazuma Japan, mostly because he's used as a secret weapon and partially due to his lack of team spirit. He's first allowed of the bench during the match against Fire Dragon and later becomes more used on the field.
* BreakTheHaughty: He was benched during the Asian preliminaries in the third season, much to his displeasure, and didn't get a single chance to play until the match against Fire Dragon in the final, when the coach revealed he was their secret weapon.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Shin Teikoku.
* ConfusionFu: His playmaking depended on his tactics' unpredictability.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: His father became a {{Scapegoat}} for his boss's mistakes, so he resigned from his job and the family was forced to be on the move, always being hunted by debt collectors. When his mother urged Fudou to become stronger, he takes it to the [[AmbitionIsEvil wrong]] [[TheDarkSide extremes]].
* DeadpanSnarker: Has a tendency to make sarcastic and negative remarks, a thing that is lampshaded early on in season 3.
* DelinquentHair: Sports a mowhawk with white streaks at the sides.
* DisappearedDad: His father left his family after he lost his job.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He may dislike tomatoes, since he leaves them uneaten in one cafeteria scene.
* TheDragon: To Kageyama, in Shin Teikoku. Main reason why nobody in Inazuma Japan trusted him.
* EmbarrassingNickname: ''Don't'' address him as "Akki".
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: As an adult, he has longer hair that is solid brown instead of the bi-colored mowhawk he had as a teenager. He became more sociable and nicer.
* GoroawaseNumber: On the jacket he wears in ''Galaxy'', there is the number 210 written on it, which can be read as "fu-do", like his name.
* HairTodayGoneTomorrow: As a child, he had his head full of hair rather than the mowhawk and the rest of his head bald he sports as a teenager. Inverted in ''GO'', where he has longer hair and no bald spots.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He makes fun of the others when they make combination hissatsus, despite the fact that he hasn't got a single individual hissatsu.
* ImageSong: ''Bad Boys Brothers' Blues''.
* InsultBackfire: When Goujin gets enthusiastic that he appears in the photo on the internet, Fudou snarks at the wild instinct he shows in the photo, but Goujin takes that as a compliment.
-->'''Goujin''': I'm totally saving this photo!
-->'''Fudou''': Is it your wild instinct? Hmph, aren't you lucky.
-->'''Goujin''': [[SarcasmBlind Yeah, thanks]]!
-->'''Sakanoue''': [[LampshadeHanging I think that sounded more like an insult]].
* {{Jerkass}}: More so in season 2, where he started of as a sadistical SmugSnake with little to no redeeming qualities.
* JerkassHasAPoint: He's right when he says that Teikoku should win using their own abilities instead of relying on Kageyama's technology and Sakuma agrees with him.
-->'''Sakuma''': Only in times like this I agree with Fudou.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: He's rude, sarcastic, cynical, sharp-tongued and enjoys seeing people suffering, whether they're his teammates or rivals. However, he gains the "Heart of Gold" part: caring for his teammates, working with them on new hissatasu techniques, etc. after he TookALevelInKindness.
* LoserSonOfLoserDad: In actively avoiding this, he became resentful and arrogant. Go figure.
* ManipulativeBastard: With the power from the Aliea Crystal, he's able to convince Genda and Sakuma into joining Shin Teikoku.
* NewTransferStudent: In the penultimate episode of the anime, it is shown that he joined Teikoku. He is once again a transfer student in the ''Ares'' - ''Orion'' timeline.
* NonconformistDyedHair: Fudou Akio's hair is styled into a [[DelinquentHair mowhawk]], with some strands of hair dyed silver. He's an aloof, rebellious player, who until his Character Development, preferred to solve his problems by himself and mocked the idea of combination hissatsu techniques. As an adult, he mellowed down considerably and mentained some close friendships. [[ExpositoryHairstyleChange His hair grew out and he no longer dyes it]].
* PerpetualPoverty: Heavily implied. His family became poor after his father lost his job and left the family and ten years later in ''GO'' he's found sleeping on a bench, implying he's still poor and homeless.
* PointyEars: In ''Ares'', he has noticeably pointier ears than in the original series.
* RealMenWearPink: His ''GO'' design features a hot pink jacket, which is possibly a CallBack to Emperor Penguin 3gou.
* RebelRelaxation: Since Kudou doesn't allow him to play in the Asian preliminaries [[spoiler: until Fire Dragon]], he usual ends up relaxing on a bench or an surface away from the team when he's not training.
* RedBaron: His title is "The Aloof Rebel" according to his Eleven License.
* ReformedButRejected: At first, nobody in Inazuma Japan trusts him because of his former relationship with Kageyama and his arrogant personality, but with the help from Endou and Kidou, he learns to coordinate better with the team and they finally accept him.
* RummageSaleReject: Some consider his ''GO'' design to be this.
* SmugSnake: During his time as a villain in season 2, he was a confident {{Jerkass}} who claimed Sakuma and Genda were second-rate players, but Kageyama was more disappointed in him for choosing them in the first place and failing to defeat Raimon.
* TookALevelInKindness: He starts to care more for his teammates after the match against Team K.
* {{Tsundere}}: Type A. He acts as if he doesn't care about his teammates' safety, but he actually does.

''"A cold-hearted youth who thinks that those who lose are worthless."''

* AgeLift: In ''Ares'', he's one year younger than in the original timeline, like most members of Eisei Gakuen.
* AmbiguouslyGay: One ''Inazuma Eleven SD'' comic reveals that Midorikawa and Hiroto are both Kariya's legal guardians, but whether they're actually married or it's just a case of PlatonicCoParenting has yet to be revealed.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Gemini Storm.
* {{Determinator}}: Midorikawa's desire to avoid CantCatchUp is one of his biggest strengths and weaknesses. His having strained himself cost him [[WeHardlyKnewYe being able to stay with Inazuma Japan longer]].
* GlassCannon: Midorikawa is very fast, and has powerful shots. However, he has weak body and low stamina. This becomes a problem in the anime post HeelFaceTurn because he pushes himself too far as a member of Inazuma Japan. It works for a while and his hard work benefits by creating Lightning Accel to increase his speed, but even the new coach realizes that if he goes any further he might not be able to play soccer ever again after the Asian finals.
* GoodEyesEvilEyes: In his alien version, he has very narrow eyes. His normal version's eyes, while they still have a tsurime shape, are noticeably wider.
* HeelFaceTurn: With the rest of Aliea Academy by the end of Season 2.
* HeroicRROD: Coach Kudou is seeing this coming, as per {{Determinator}} entry. If he didn't get booted out of Inazuma Japan, he would most likely overexerted himself to the point that he'd be permanently crippled from playing soccer.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Astro Dribbler" according to his Eleven License.
* MadLibsCatchphrase: Reize has a tendency to say "Earth has a saying that goes like this: [Insert proverb]".
* MeaningfulName: In the dub. Janus was a two-faced Roman god, fitting the stark contrast between the cruel and callous alien persona and his true friendly, eager personality.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: His character arc was given more focus in the Asian preliminary matches until his injuries from Fire Dragon prevented him from returning to the team.
* ThoseTwoGuys: On Inazuma Japan, he forms a close partnership with Hiroto, who acts as his male CoolBigSis whenever he's struggling.

* AffablyEvil: Despite being an extreme BloodKnight out all the Alias captains (which is saying a lot), he treats Raimon with respect, especially Fubuki as a WorthyOpponent and strives for them to become stronger. Arguably, he's the second nicest after Hiroto. [[spoiler: When they eventually lose to Raimon as Neo Epsilon, he almost shakes Endou's hand until Gazelle arrives to return him back to base.]]
* AgeLift: In ''Ares'', he's one year younger than in the original timeline, like most members of Eisei Gakuen. Justified in his case, since due to being a third-year, he would have been already in highschool without the age change.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Epsilon. And Neo Japan's as well.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Black hair and black eyes, although it's the sclerae that is black rather than the iris.
* DualModeUnit: In the second game, he's one of three characters who can use a special mechanic named Chara Change. In his normal Desarm form, he's a goalkeeper with the default hissatsu Wormhole and in his Epsilon Kai form, he's a forward with the default hissatsu Ganymede Proton.
* DumbMuscle: In ''Ares'', he increased in muscle mass, but also [[TookALevelInDumbass decreased in intelligence]].
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: He fits the description perfectly, having pale skin and black hair and being without a doubt sinister.
* HeelFaceTurn: After Neo Epsilon lost to Raimon. [[HeelFaceRevolvingDoor Bordered on becoming a Heel again]] due to [[RefusedByTheCall not being selected for the national selections]]. Becomes truly a Face by Neo Japan's loss.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Passionate Adversarial Keeper" according to his Eleven License.
* JackOfAllStats: Really, he is currently the only character who played all four positions in the anime. In the original series, he played as a goalkeeper in his Desarm form in Epsilon, as a forward in Epsilon Kai and as a midfielder in his normal form in Neo Japan. In Ares, he played as a goalkeeper again, first in Eisei Gakuen and then in Inazuma Japan (although he didn't do too much in the latter case), but also played as a defender in the match against Soccer Acrobatic Troupe and changed his position to midfielder before the match against Perfect Spark.
* OneSteveLimit: In the dub he's one of at least three characters named David, along with David Samford (Sakuma) and David Evans (Daisuke).
* OverlyLongGag: His letter to Inazuma Japan.
* PointyEars: He loses them after he gets released from the effect of the Aliea Meteorite, showing that he isn't an alien as everyone believed.
* PowerGivesYouWings: He's able to copy Aphrodi's God Knows hissatsu during Neo Japan's match against Inazuma Japan with the help from two Zeus members.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: When his team takes revenge for losing to Raimon the last time, they become Epsilon Kai and all the members get completely red [[GlowingEyesOfDoom glowing eyes]].
* RefusedByTheCall:
** The sole Aliea captain to not become part of a national team. It hits him, hard.
** Averted in ''Orion'', though, where he gets selected to join Inazuma Japan.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: His hair is shaped like a scarf and gives this impression.
* SpaceMaster: Worm Hole warps space and time for the ball traveling towards him to land in a net devoid it of it's strength. [[spoiler: Fubuki trained forever to break through it, and Eternal Blizzard only overpowered Worm Hole once]].
* TechnicolorEyes: He has orange eyes which also get a black sclera when he's affected by the Aliea meteorite.
* ThisIsADrill: Drill Smasher creates a giant metallic drill on his hand to pierce through incoming shots and it's Desarm's trump card in case Worm Hole was ever overpowered. [[spoiler: It easily defended against Fubuki's Eternal Blizzard in episode 42 but but lost to Gouenji's Bakunetsu Storm in episode 52.]]
* TrainingFromHell: He went through this not once, but ''twice'' as Neo Ellipson and training for Neo Japan, often pushing himself to the very core in order to surpass his fellow Aliea commanders who made it to the national teams except for him. While said training made him stronger, it almost brought to a FaceHeelTurn lustinf for victory until his teammates remind him of the fun they had improving.
* UnrealisticBlackHole: Wormhole.

* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Prominence and The Chaos.
* ElementalHairColors: Red hair, which fits his fire element.
* ExoticEyeDesigns: His ''Ares'' design has lightning-shaped pupils.
* FieryRedhead: No pun intended.
** EvilRedhead: As the captain of Prominence.
* HeelFaceTurn: With the rest of Aliea Academy at the end of season 2. He still plays for a rival team in season 3, but is no longer a villain.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Hellfire Striker" according to his Eleven License.
* JerkJock: He's very rebellious and arrogant, especially in season 2.
* PlayingWithFire: He's a fire elemental, in contrast to Gazelle's ice elemental.

* CharacterTics: He tends to comb his hair with his fingers.
* ElementalHairColors: White hair, which fits his ice element.
* GenderBlenderName: Unintentionally invoked in the English dub of the anime, which turns him into a girl, but uses the same name as the video game, where he is still a boy and that results into a girl named Bryce.
* HeelFaceTurn: With the rest of Aliea Academy at the end of season 2. He still plays for a rival team in season 3, but is no longer a villain.

* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Burn's Red.

* AdoptiveNameChange: Because he resembles Kira Seijirou's deceased son, his original given name was changed to Hiroto.
* AffablyEvil: Even Endou is surprised to discover him on Aliea's side! He even see Endou as an interesting person and is genuinely worried about Fubuki after their first match.
* BenevolentBoss: In GO. Most of his employees are his friends.
* BreakoutCharacter: He is easily one of the most popular characters from Aliea Academy, his popularity is still going strong to this day.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Genesis. Incidentally, the Genesis captain's band is actually blue. In the anime, he also takes the lead of Inazuma Japan during the second half of the Argentina match. In ''Ares'', he is the captain of Eisei Gakuen.

* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Depending on when he's Gran or Kiyama.
* FirstNameBasis: One of the few male characters who are mostly called by their first name.
* EasilyForgiven: He didn't even think twice to forgive his father for all his misdeeds.
* EvilRedhead: More like a redhead AntiVillain, but still.
** MyMasterRightOrWrong: If there's any reason this guy ever ends up being evil, it's this.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When his father told him to release the limiter, which is a device to hold back the power they have actually gained through training, he refused because he didn't want to hurt his teammates' bodies.
* HappilyAdopted: He cares a lot for his adoptive father and sister.
* HeelFaceTurn: Well, he's not [[AffablyEvil really a bad guy in the first place]], but like the rest of Aliea Academy, he quits being an "alien" by the end of Season 2 and becomes one of the main heroes in season 3.
* HorribleCampingTrip: Inverted: It started out badly, ends almost too awesomely and both he and Kogure never realized that the time haven't even gone by yet.
** NoSenseOfDirection: But hey, who can still rely on their sense of direction in a magical forest with magical creatures anyway? ; the good news is, at least he knows how to set up a camp for the night.
*** ItCantBeHelped: "Endou-kun and the others might be worried about us, but it can't be helped. Let's camp out here for the night, or we might get lost" (said when he is actually ALREADY lost)
* IdenticalStranger: An orphan who just happened to be the spitting image of Kira Seijirou's son.
* IHaveManyNames: Wouldn't you believe it. He collectively had the most names among the massive cast of Inazuma Eleven. [[spoiler:From Kiyama Hiroto and Gran in the original series, Kira Hiroto in GO and his real name, Kiyama Tatsuya, in ''Ares'']].
* ImageSong: ''Starline''.
* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Eisei's Young Nobleman" according to his Eleven License.
* NoFullNameGiven: He keeps his real surname after being adopted, but his real given name remains unknown. Until...
** NamedByTheAdaptation: In ''Ares'', his real first name is revealed to be [[spoiler:Tatsuya.]]
* OverlordJr.: Still, he’s incredibly [[FriendlyEnemy nice]].
* ParentalFavoritism: Burn isn't given the chance to face off with Gran for the Genesis title. Ironically, this favoritism caused him to strain himself to meet his father's expectation.
* ReplacementGoldfish: And he's completely fine with it. He knew that he's just a replacement of the real Hiroto for his 'father', but still forgives and loves him either way.
* ScienceIsBad: Inverted. His love for technology is obviously there throughout the series, and he doesn't believe in old folklores like Kappas, [[spoiler:until he meets one]].
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: He is shown to be skilled with computers and science. In ''GO'', he started to wear glasses.
* StealthHiBye: Just like any other member of Aliea Academy that is. In their first meeting, Hiroto disappears after Endou turned his back for a few seconds to take a soccer ball, he thought that Hiroto's a ghost.
* TakingTheBullet: When Ulvida (with the limiter still off, mind you) [[spoiler:kicked a soccer ball against their father]]. It’s bad enough for Hiroto to be taken away in an ambulance in the game version.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Midorikawa.
* TokenGoodTeammate: He's the nicest member from Aliea Academy.
* [[UglyGuysHotDaughter Ugly Guy's Hot Son]]: Sure, he's adopted, but the real Hiroto looks almost completely identical to this one and plays it straight.

-->'''Voiced by:''' Miho Hino (Japanese)

* ActionGirl: Without a doubt among the most formidable girls of the franchise.
* AgeLift: In ''Ares'', she's one year younger than in the original timeline, like most members of Eisei Gakuen.
* AnIcePerson: Although the only ice-related hissatsu she can learn is "White Blade" in the ''Galaxy'' game.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Passed on to her once Hiroto refuses to take off the limiter.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blue hair and blue eyes.
* HeelFaceTurn: With the rest of Aliea Academy at the end of season 2.
* InSeriesNickname: Her title is "Beautiful Blue Moon" according to her Eleven License.
* MsFanservice: Certainly more so than any other girls. She has a larger chest than other female characters and like the rest of Genesis (and most of Aliea Academy in general), her uniform is rather tight and emphasizes said assets.
* TheStoic: Her bio describes her as an "ice-cold warrior princess" who feels no emotion, [[NotSoStoic but she's shown to be quite passionate and loyal to her father]].

''"The Italian [[TheAce ace striker]], who is called [[RedBaron "The White Meteor."]]''

* TheAce: He is an ace striker and the match between his team and Inazuma Japan ends in a tie instead of being defeated at the last minute as usual.
* AsLongAsItSoundsForeign: Fideo is actually a Spanish word, not Italian. [[note]]The Italian for "fideo", which means "noodles" in English, would be "tagliatelle".[[/note]]
* BigThinShortTrio: Fideo is thin and average in height, while his teammates and good friends Blasi and Angelo are a big guy and a short guy respectively.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Orpheus, Italy's representative.
* CoolSword: Odin Sword is his SignatureMove, shooting the ball with the shape and power of the legendary Norse god's sword.
* CurbStompBattle: He and his team are on the receiving end of this in their match against Little Gigant.
* {{Foil}}: To Kidou
* HeroicBSOD: After losing against Little Gigant. He gets better.
* TheIdealist: After learning Kageyama's past, he starts to trust him and believe he's actually a good person deep down. He tells his coach that they have a similar past, but he must have continued to play soccer for the same reason as he did, he actually loves his father and his plays. His talking to Kageyama and the match is what turned him into a good guy.
* ImageSong: ''Eikou e no Yell!'' ("Cheers To Glory!").
* InSeriesNickname: "The White Meteor".
* NotSoDifferentRemark: He tells Kageyama that the reason why he continued to be involved with soccer, despite claiming to hate it, is for the same reason as Fideo did, because he actually loves his father and the soccer itself.
* RedOniBlueOni: Blue to Kidou's Red.
* TheRival: Mostly to Kidou

''"A quiet but brave leader, who has the highest merit of his team."''

* BritishStuffiness: He is a quiet British gentleman who can also be a bit stuck up.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Knights of Queen, England's representative.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Blue hair and blue eyes, although his eyes have two different shades.
* GentlemanSnarker: While mostly gentlemanly and polite, he is not above delivering stealth insults to people he feels superior to, which annoys the members of Inazuma Japan during their dinner party with his national team. After losing to their team (and a few others), he becomes a proper gentleman.
* IdenticalStranger: Most consider him to look like an older Kazemaru. Kazemaru's GO appearance does look almost exactly like him, especially his hairstyle.
* ImageSong: ''Eikou e no Yell!'' ("Cheers To Glory!").
* KnightInShiningArmor: He has a strong sence of justice for his country, saying that his team's job as its representative is to win for it and fulfil other people's dream. Fittingly enough, his team is called Knights of Queen. He also shows a lot of respect for ladies.
* LegendaryWeapon: His hissatsu Excalibur showcases the legendary sword of Myth/KingArthur.
* LongHairedPrettyBoy: He has long hair and is a good-looking young gentleman.
* OldSchoolChivalry: To the point where he selflessly risks losing the use of his leg in order to reflect Heaven Drive with Excalibur during the match to save Rika. Thankfully it doesn't cause him much damage.
* PrettyBoy: Rika considers him and several other boys an army of hotties.
* TechnicolorEyes: Has two distinct shades of blue in his eyes, so he may have central heterochromia.
* TookALevelInKindness: He acts rather arrogant towards Endou and Inazuma Japan at first, but he later treats them with more respect.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: He's a third-year middle-school student, but looks more like an adult.

* InSeriesNickname: His title is "Top Star of the Ground" according to his Eleven License.
* OneSteveLimit: Since he keeps his Japanese name on transition to dub, he shares his name with Mark Evans.
* PowerGivesYouWings: The Icarus gives him purple wings, allowing him to fly while blinding the other player with the wing's light.
* PrettyBoy: He has quite smooth features and is one of the boys considered a hottie by Rika.
* ThoseTwoGuys / HeterosexualLifePartners: With Dylan.

* GratuitousEnglish: Justified, as he is American.
* InSeriesNickname: "Mister Goal" or "Hat-Trick Kid" in the dub. On his Eleven License, he is called "Ecstatic Striker".

* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of The Empire, Argentina's representative.
* ExtraOreDinary: His hissatsu technique, Iron Wall, is used to conjure a literal wall made of iron.
* ImageSong: ''Eikou e no Yell!'' ("Cheers To Glory!").
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: At first, he is a typical arrogant opponent who underestimates Endou and his team. After his character development, he treats Inazuma Japan with more respect and he personally appologizes to endou for ignoring him when they first met.
* PhenotypeStereotype: Dark-skinned Argentinian.
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Downplayed. He isn't ''evil'' per se, just a bit of a jerk and the only one who defeated Inazuma Japan.
* TheStoic: Downplayed, but he doesn't show much enthusiasm during his practise match with Endou and other FFI opponents.
* StoneWall: Literally. His technique Iron Wall is yet to be defeated in-series.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: According to a book called "Inazuma Eleven All Players Directory" and the games, he's a third-year middle school student, but looks more like an adult. Doesn't help that most of his teammates also look like adults.

* AFatherToHisMen: His teammates see him as a father figure.
* TheCapitalOfBrazilIsBuenosAires: Contrary to his very powerful team, Brazil is not ''that'' great when it comes to soccer in real life. [[note]]This can especially be seen in later years, as the national team's string of lackluster performances caused it to drop from the top spot to 22nd in the FIFA World Rankings since the 2010 World Cup.[[/note]] Also, his entire team is made up of very poor people and he has a special move named "Strike Samba" that obviously shouts "Carnaval".
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of The Kingdom, Brazil's representative.
* DanceBattler: His true soccer has this fun, rhythmic style.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: His entire team is made up of people saved from poverty, and they've been blackmailed into straining themselves to consistently win; as their families were practically taken hostage under threat of their jobs and homes being taken away from them.
* InSeriesNickname: "King of Fantasista".
* LastNameBasis: Despite not being Japanese, he is mostly called by his last-name.
* TriggerPhrase: A sound, actually. A blow of a whistle activates the human performance enhancing RH Program, which makes him unwillingly play more violently than usual.

!!Demonio Strada / Giulio Acuto
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demonio.png]]
-->'''Voiced by''': Creator/ChihiroSuzuki (Japanese)

* AbledInTheAdaptation: In the game, he loses his eyesight completely, while in the anime, his vision just becomes blurred.
* BadassCape: Naturally, due to being almost identical to Kidou.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Team K.
* EvilCounterpart: To Kidou.
* GogglesDoNothing: Subverted. Kageyama reveals that the goggles help Kidou and by extension Demonio concentrate only on the ball.
* OddNameOut: He is the only member of Team K who is not named after a gemstone.
* OneSteveLimit: A meaningful aversion to further the EvilCounterpart theme. His name is Italian for "demon's path", which is [[AlternateCharacterReading one possible reading]] of Kidou's name. The English dub does the same; Giulio is an Italian form of Julius, from which Jude was derived, and Acuto is Italian for "sharp."
* RedOniBlueOni: Red to Kidou's Blue.
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: But as it turns out, even Kageyama is sure he won't match up to Kidou's standard.

* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Little Gigant, Cotarl's representative.
* FinalBoss: His team is the last obstacle Inazuma Japan has to face off to win the Football Frontier International in the story mode.
* GreenEyedMonster: In the Ogre version of the third game. When he is told by Ogre that [[spoiler:Daisuke would be returning to Japan with Endou after their reunion]], he gets jealous enough that he goes up against Endou with every intention of crushing him completely. He gets over it rather quickly though.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: He is quite close to Daisuke, having a similar relationship to that between a grandfather and his grandson.
* KidsAreCruel: Rococo was bullied as a child by his peers for apparently being physically weak.
* MagikarpPower: He used to be the weakest of his team physically, but the coach saw into his FightingSpirit and made him who he dubbed "The Best Goalkeeper in the World".
* PowerOfTheGodHand: One of his hissatsu techniques is God Hand X.
* TheRival: He's the strongest rival and personal opponent to Endou seeing as they were raised by Endou's grandfather with a love for soccer and trained to be the best goalkeeper in the world. They even end up scoring goals against each other in the finals of the Football Frontier International and the two make it their personal mission to surpass him.
* SimilarSquad: Leads one against Inazuma Japan. It's not made blatantly obvious, but Little Gigant's main 11 are [[{{Expy}} expies]] of the original Raimon Eleven, from Endou down to Someoka, while the bench players are Tachimukai, Kogure, Megane, Fubuki, and Tsunami.

** PassingTheTorch: He later permanently bestows the role to Fidio.
* {{Homage}}: He's based on the real-life Hide Nakata, including having the same name.
* InSeriesNickname: He is called Hide by Luca.
* ThoseTwoGuys / HeterosexualLifePartners: With Luca. But he's actually got a bigger role than just this.

* BlackAndGreyMorality: The Grey to Desuta's Black. While the demons want to offer a sacrifice to release the [[SealedEvilInACan Demon Lord]], the angels want to offer him an unwilling bride to keep him sealed. He gets over it eventually.
* TheCaptain / RedArmbandOfLeadership: Of Tenkuu no Shito.
* EvilRedhead: Sort of. He has red hair and he has good intentions, but he thinks it's okay to kidnap somebody to stop the Demon Lord from awakening.
* GoodWingsEvilWings: Sports the standard white bird angel wings, although they are more light green rather than white.
* LightEmUp: He's a light elemental, as opposed to Desuta's darkness elemental.
* OddNameOut: He is the only member of Tenkuu no Shito whose name doesn't end in "-el". Most of the dubs rectified this by changing his name to Sael.
* OnlyOneName: Sein seems to be his real name.
* OurAngelsAreDifferent: Was rather morally ambiguous before his team lost to Inazuma Japan and started to understand what soccer is.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He wants to prevent the Demon Lord from awakening by giving him somebody to marry even if that person (Rika) doesn't want to.
** HeelRealization: But he gets better after he realizes that the hate between angels and demons is what sets the prophecy into motion. Sein and a few members of Tenkuu no Shito were temporarily corrupted into becoming the Dark Angels because of said hatred.
* YinYangBomb: His hissatsu Shadow Ray which combines his light energy with Desuta's dark energy.

* CastingAShadow: He's a darkness elemental, as opposed to Sein's light elemental.
* EvilBrit: He speaks with a British accent in the English Dub of the anime.
* EvilRedhead: Not only is he a demon, he's also one of the few characters that remain evil until the end.
* GoodWingsEvilWings: Sports the standard black bat/dragon wings.
* ImplausibleHairColor: He has tanned skin and auburn hair, but for a demon everything is possible.
* OnlyOneName: Desuta seems to be his real name.
* ObviouslyEvil: Demon, check. Black uniform, check. Black wings, check. Yep, deffinitely evil.
* SelectiveGravity: Gravitation makes the opponent fall forward and be unable to get up, as Desuta steals the ball.

Even after Natsumi finds out his plan and forces him to confess in front of everyone, he shows no remorse and is ''proud'' of what he has done.
* HateSink: He clearly isn't supposed to be likable since he crossed the MoralEventHorizon by trying to kill the kids just to save his own skin.
* WelcomeBackTraitor: [[spoiler:In ''GO'' he somehow found employment back in Raimon even after being fired by Natsumi. His being allowed to work in a setting with children again after trying to kill them speaks highly of how screwed the situation is.]]

At first, Endou holds back because of this, but his teammates manage to convince him not to do so.
* MeaningfulName: Kageyama means "shadow mountain", fitting and later subverting his status as the BigBad.
