! Mankai Theater Actors
[[folder:In General]]
* BigBrotherInstinct: While some characters fit this trope more explicitly than others, everyone in the company is protective of each other, and many of the older members, such as [[TeamMom Omi]] and [[PrivateTutor Tsumugi]], tend to look out for the younger schoolkids.
* ChekhovsGunman: The 6th member of each troupe is introduced very early in between the end of Part 1 of the main story and the beginning of Part 2 through events. The earliest example to appear and officially join in Part 2 being [[spoiler:Chikage, who is revealed to have been April, the person who sent a flower bouquet for the Winter troupe near the end of Part 1]]. Kumon, Juza's younger brother who was mentioned watching ''The Roman Episode'' on closing night, joins after him.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Each troupe has its own representative color, which can be seen on the characters' nameplates in-game. In addition, each individual actor also has their own image color.
* FamilyOfChoice: In one way or another, MANKAI COMPANY and its staff becomes a second home to many of these actors.
* FirstNameBasis: Most of the members end up referring to each other by their given names, with some exceptions.
** Sakyo, Tasuku, and Guy tend to use [[LastNameBasis last names]] to refer to the other characters. Notable exceptions to this rule include Azami (whom [[ParentalSubstitute Sakyo]] refers to as "Bon"), [[ChildhoodFriends Tsumugi]] (whom Tasuku refers by first name), and Citron (whom Guy refers to as "Citronia").
** [[TheRival Juza and Banri]] call each other by their last names.
** Tsuzuru refers to everyone older than him by "[last name]-san".
** Homare is referred to as "Arisu" by a number people who use first names for everyone else, such as Hisoka.
* FlowerMotif: Each actor has a different motif flower attributed to them, in reference to how Izumi is "helping them bloom". They're featured prominently on the initial "About to Bloom" SR cards, along with a few other full-group sets.
* FourTemperamentEnsemble: The leaders nicely match up with their given seasons (and in turn, also with the assigned [[TheFourGods god]] and element). Sakuya (Spring) is Sanguine, Tenma (Summer) is Choleric, Banri (Autumn) is Melancholic, and Tsumugi (Winter) is Phlegmatic.

! MANKAI Staff and Management

[[folder:Player/Izumi Tachibana]]
!!!'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KaoriNazuka (Japanese), Creator/MonicaRial (English)
[[quoteright:164:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izumi_full.png]]
The player character. Her default first name is Izumi, though it can be changed. After receiving an invitation to Mankai Theater, she decides to go there to find out about the whereabouts of her father, who disappeared six years earlier. Under certain circumstances, she becomes the new director of MANKAI COMPANY in order to save it.
----
* AlmightyJanitor: She's got help from Matsukawa, and Sakyo runs the money side of the business, but she basically runs MANKAI all by herself.
* AnimalMotifs: In the ''MANKAI Animals'' event, she's a lion a.k.a "the king of animals." It ties into her role as the director of MANKAI COMPANY.
* CoolBigSis: To the company members who are still in school.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Brown hair, brown eyes.
* {{Determinator}}: No matter what situations come her way and even if the odds are against her favor, Izumi remains positive and always sees things through the end.
* DisappearedDad: Her father disappeared eight years ago.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: She may not be aware of it, but Izumi's a dangerous driver. Due to her speedy driving, the troupe only designates her as a driver if she's the last option.
* DudeMagnet: Most, if not all, of the boys now under her wing take a liking to her eventually.
* FemaleGaze: A softer example. For a ''joseimuke'' filled to the brim with attractive characters, Izumi acts as a relatable source of commentary when she voices her appreciation for members of the cast (e.g. she thinks Azuma is sensual, she finds Sakyo's moles attractive). However Izumi never expresses romantic interest when she compliments the cast, and it seems to be derived from her objective eye as a director.
* ForgottenChildhoodFriend: [[spoiler: Sakyo. She met a young, quiet Sakyo hanging around the theater, who secretly longed to be inside the rambunctious theater. Without hesitation, Izumi introduced him to the theater, which had an indelible impact on Sakyo's life. Izumi was only around for a short period of time, and later left, forgetting about their meeting. Izumi only remembers after Sakyo tells her about their first meeting. However, parts of her memories with him are revisited in many of Sakyo's card stories.]]
* HelloInsertNameHere: Izumi is her default name, but you can name her however you please.
* InTheHood: We don't usually get to see what Izumi looks like in the game. However, her full appearance is readily available on the main website, and this design is also what the anime uses.
* LargeHam: Claims that she is this when she acts, which is why she doesn't do it anymore. Other character's comments during her street performance enforce this.
* LegacyCharacter: Her father, Yukio, was the former director of the MANKAI COMPANY. She invokes this when attempting to get Sakyo to back off on seizing the theater.
* [[MagneticHero Magnetic Heroine]]: How did she recruit the troupe members? She persuades a lot of them, and it works.
* MysteriousPast: At some point in her past, she decided to never act again because someone at her former acting company told her that she had no talent for it. The game doesn't elaborate on it aside from an early flashback.
* NiceGirl: She's a well-meaning and caring woman, but she also doesn't take anyone's crap.
* OneNoteCook: Zig-zagged. The only thing she can cook really well is curry, and she'll let it know to just about everyone around. Her mind instinctively seems to turn any dish into a curry-based one, but she can cook other recipes. She just needs to follow recipes to a T, and her non-curry dishes are said to be tasty.
* ReunionVow: [[spoiler:In the official AU 'MANKAI Apartments', Sakyo's ''Frugal Real Estate Agent'' card, a young Izumi was deeply saddened at the fact that she would have to leave the MANKAI Apartment where Sakyo lived. She promised to become the owner of the building, and Sakyo promised to become an actor that lived as a resident so that they could one day reunite.]]
* SmurfettePrinciple: As MANKAI is traditionally an all-men company, she is the only female there.
* SupportingProtagonist: She may be the player character and has her on personal arc to work through, but she's still very much taking a backseat to her actors.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: In Act 1, Episode 2 of the main story, an old video tape the Summer troupe found of the first generation Summer Troupe has Yukio appear, with Yuki commenting that he looked just like Izumi.
* TaughtByExperience: Her time and knowledge gained from her previous acting company helps her with coaching and training the actors in the reborn MANKAI COMPANY.
* TeamMom: Shares this with Omi when he joins. She checks up on the members' well-being, often acts as their pillar of support, and helps cook for the dorm.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: She really loves curry. Yuki gives her the nickname "Curry Alien."
* VagueAge: Although her age is rarely mentioned in the main story, this is averted. In Tasuku's R "Standing Rehearsal" backstage story, he mentions that he and Izumi are the same age, making Izumi somewhere around 24 years old in Act 1.
** This is supported by the fact that Izumi [[UsefulNotes/JapaneseHonorifics refers]] to Citron (who is 22) and everyone else younger than him with the suffix of "-kun", but uses "-san" for Itaru (who is 23[[note]] As Itaru's birthday is only two months after Tasuku's, he is considered the same age as Tasuku and Tsumugi. Several in-game quotes confirm this[[/note]]) and everyone else older than him[[note]]"-kun" is generally reserved for males younger than the speaker, while "-san" is typically used for people of similar age or elders[[/note]].
* YouRemindMeOfX: [[spoiler:Chikage once mused in Episode 5 that Izumi reminds him of August, his fallen friend. Izumi is optimistic, kindhearted, and meddlesome. When eating with Chikage, she makes a retort nearly word-for-word that August once said to Chikage. ]]

The manager of Mankai Theater. He sent a letter to the Tachibana family to request Yukio's help to save the theater, a letter answered by Izumi.
----
* ButtMonkey: He can never do anything right, to the point that when he does play violins very well in Tsumugi's [My Master's Mesmerized by Mystery] backstage, Tasuku immediately says that Matsukawa has set up a hidden speaker somewhere, and others are like, "So, there is something you can do well after all." Also often subjected to being the butt of jokes by Kamekichi, who is a ''bird.''
* HiddenDepths: His personal and the ''Le Fantôme de l'Opéra'' backstage stories revealed that his is a talented musician skilled with multiple instruments. In addition to his musical knowledge, he collects headphones and is a talented composer.
* LethalChef: His food is incredibly awful, and everyone agrees that he shouldn't be allowed to cook.
* LovableCoward: Ducks in fear when the situation goes south and often times lack awareness of how dire the situation is, but his devotion to Mankai Theater is real.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Kamekichi]]
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kamekichi_full.png]]
A cockatoo. Mankai Theater's mascot.

----
* TheCasanova: Talks at length about other birds he's been on dates with.
* EmbarrassingFirstName: Doesn't like the name he was given, as Kamekichi is a name typically given to turtles, not birds. However, for all his complaints, he responds to said name anyway.
* SirSwearsALot: Yes, Kamekichi is a '''pet''', but his choice of words when he speaks are... foul, to put it lightly.
* TeamPet: The pet and mascot of the theater.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Tetsuro Iwai]]

[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tetsuro_full.png]]
A tall, quiet man who is in charge of creating props for and the sets for MANKAI COMPANY's productions.
----
* AnimalLover: Especially small, fluffy ones like rabbits and hamsters. He often goes to the zoo too.
* GentleGiant: He's a nice guy, despite his imposing appearance.
* TranslatorBuddy: Only people who have known Tetsuro for a long time can understand what his silence means. Matsukawa interprets for the rest of the cast most of the time, but Yuzo can also understand him.
* TheQuietOne: He doesn't talk much. So much that the one time he speaks is considered a miracle.
[[/folder]]

[[folder: Ken Sakoda]]
--> '''Voiced by''': Shou Nogami\

Sakyo's energetic and cheerful underling who is very devoted to Sakyo. Due to his loyalty to Sakyo, he often helps out with the company's plays and is very familiar with the actors and staff.
----
* AnimalMotifs: He's often compared to a loyal dog that sticks to Sakoda's side, and is ready to defend him at the slightest sign of disrespect. He also possesses a friendly disposition by default.
* BigBrotherWorship: They're not related, but he is heavily devoted to Sakyo. Sakoda calls him "aniki" as a sign of respect amongst yakuza members.
* CoolBigBro: He gets along well with Azami, and looks out for him, being the person to suggest Azami to take sanctuary at the MANKAI dormitory. Ken usually calms Azami down when he becomes frustrated by Sakyo, or his father. [[spoiler: He's also the one that stands up for Azami and his dreams against Azami's father.]]
* LastNameBasis: Most of the characters refer to him by his surname instead of his given name.
* RecruitedFromTheGutter: In Episode 7, it is not gone into specifics, but part of the reason why Sakoda adores Sakyo is that he was thrown into the streets with nowhere to go. Sakyo found Sakoda and offered him his current job.
* ShipperOnDeck: Sakoda knows that Sakyo cares for Izumi deeply, and is not above hinting that he would like to support the two of them as a couple. He even offers to beat up Chikage for Sakyo when he mistakes Chikage and Izumi as a couple in Episode 5.
* ThirdPersonPerson:
--> Huff...huff...this is all you're gonna get out of Ken Sakoda...
* {{Yakuza}}: Is an underling of one. [[spoiler:As of the end of Episode 7, unbeknownst to Sakoda, he is implied to have become a candidate for the next head of Ginsenkai. The current head was thoroughly impressed with Sakoda's daring after standing up for Azami.]]

[[folder:Ensemble Members]]
A group of people asked to work with the Mankai Theater. They serve as extra actors for the troupes. They are:

!!Spring Troupe
---> Iku Sasakawa
---> Arata Seto
---> Eiji Sumida
!!Summer Troupe
---> Miki Asakura
---> Akito Taninaga
---> Takuya Suzuhara
!!Autumn Troupe
---> Ichiro Makita
---> Kengo Kitagami
---> Julian Yamashita
!!Winter Troupe
---> Yuichi Hasegawa
---> Tsubasa Yoshikawa
---> Keita Yano
----
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Both Iku and Miki cultivate this, as they are the youngest of the ensemble cast and have no problem using their cuteness to their advantages.
* AdvertisedExtra: They frequently turn up in scouts, as N and R cards, and have their own character sprites and personalities, and even have backstage stories, but they (with the exception of Ichiro) never show up in the Main or Event Stories.
* AscendedExtra: Ichiro Makita. He's the only character among the Ensemble Members to appear in the story, as he is a part of the same Yakuza as Sakyo.
* ButNotTooForeign: Julian is the only member of the entire cast whose given name isn't Japanese.
* ComMons: A lot of their cards are N or R, so you'll see them often.
* MrFanservice: Hasegawa was picked with this in mind, with Izumi saying he'd be more suited for sexy and flaunting roles. His past as a model probably helps too.
* NiceGuy: Despite being a yakuza member, and looking the part, Ichiro is one of the most pleasant side characters, frequently polite to Izumi and friendly to the MANKAI actors.
* ProudBeauty: Iku certainly knows he's got adorable looks, and he's alright with it.
* RuleOfThree: There are only ever three ensemble members at a time per troupe. Each of them has two backstage, but with the R backstage as two-parters, [[DoubleSubversion they end up with three.]]
* SuddenlyVoiced: The ensemble cast originally came without voice actors until August 29, 2018.
* SesquipedalianLoquaciousness: Tsubasa is very verbose when speaking.
* TheTease: Winter Troupe's Yuichi Hasegawa is one of the few characters explicitly interested in Izumi, and never misses a chance to flirt with her.

The president and director of the God Troupe, one of the most profitable theaters in Veludo Way. He is a man that has a mysterious connection with Yukio Tachibana which has influenced his current hatred of the MANKAI COMPANY.
----
* {{Archnemesis}}: To MANKAI COMPANY, especially in the later half of Part 1 of the main story. Reni is especially antagonistic towards Izumi, as he had a great grudge on her DisappearedDad and wants MANKAI COMPANY and the Tachibanas out of the picture at all costs because of it.
* BreakTheCutie: He loves doing it. Taichi and Tsumugi had it the worst from him.
* CharacterDevelopment: [[spoiler: As a director, he once viewed actors as dolls meant to perform each and every role to his liking and specific standards much like a tyrannical god. He once believed that there are only actors born with and without talents, or "flowers" that are worth blooming. After Act 3, he grows to become more personable with his actors and is open to their interpretations of their roles. He also learns to understand what Yukio meant that everyone has their own "flower" worth blooming.]]
* ChildhoodFriends: With Syu.
* ForgivenButNotForgotten: [[spoiler:Izumi stated that she cannot overlook the pain that Reni inflicted upon the MANKAI COMPANY, especially Tsumugi and Taichi, but she wants to help Reni atone for his past actions. And the best way to do that is to work directly with him rather than push him away.]]
* HasAType: Not romantically, but as a director he recruits a specific type of actor to become a main star. According to Yuzo in Episode 10 Chapter 4 [[spoiler: Tasuku and Shifuto have a similar aura that blends confidence, daring, sensitivity, while being somewhat dense. Shifuto feels that Reni sees someone else in him, and that someone is heavily implied to be Yukio.]]
* ImageSong: "Towa no Teatro".
* ManipulativeBastard: [[spoiler:He sent Taichi as TheMole to sabotage MANKAI COMPANY's performance. He even considered Taichi as an expendable pawn and threatened him.]]
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: [[spoiler:Reni is a nickname given by Yukio. His real name is Reiji.]] However, everyone always calls him Reni.
* PetTheDog: For all his vitriol against MANKAI COMPANY, he does give actual, genuine advice to Guy when he asked for a way to improve his acting during the "Die By The Sword" event. He also showed up to watch the show after given a ticket by Guy.
* TookALevelInKindness: He has considerably warmed up to MANKAI COMPANY by Act 3. [[spoiler: He starts to formally take steps to atone for his actions, and agrees to help Izumi and the MANKAI COMPANY work their way towards a nomination for the Fleur Awards. ]]

The top actor of the God Troupe. A proud and haughty actor that deeply admires Reni, and looks down upon the MANKAI COMPANY. In spite of his caustic nature, he may not be as bad as a person as he appears to be...
----
* AnimalThemeNaming: His name contains the kanji for 'to fly', 'to soar', and just straight-up 'bird'.
* BerserkButton: Whatever you do, [[DoNotCallMePaul do not call him by his real name]], it's a quick way to set him off as [[spoiler:he used a stage name to hide his rural origins]].
* DoNotCallMePaul: [[spoiler: His real name is Genta Yamada, which he really hates, he uses a stage name as an actor because of it. It reminds him of his humble, rural origins where he was bullied for being poor.]]
* EveryoneHasStandards: In Tag Match Halloween '18, [[spoiler:He was livid, [[{{Understatement}} to put it lightly]], when he saw a participating actor who was defeated by MANKAI COMPANY earlier, steal the team's candy without a fight as revenge for his loss. He proceeded to berate said actor, slipping into a country like accent as he did so. For all his condescending interactions with MANKAI COMPANY and his desperation to keep his position in God Troupe right at that moment, he'd rather win his fight with his rivals in a fair fight rather than foul play. [[PetTheDog And also to thank Yuki in his own way for fixing his costume early in the event story]]]].
* FlawExploitation: His pride. [[spoiler: When Shifuto needed a temp to fill in with him on a shift, he exploited Haruto's pride to rope him into working.]]
* HeroWorshipper: Adores Reni and loves the God Troupe's style of theater. He does not take anyone that insults Reni lightly. [[spoiler: He is grateful to Reni for changing his life; through acting he was able to become part of "beautiful" world that he always yearned for since he first saw an opera play on TV as a child. His admiration deepens as Reni starts to change his style of directing and starts to place an effort on valuing each actor as an individual.]]
%% * ImageSong: "Nitou Joutou".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: His first comment about ''Romeo and Julius'''s street act is to call it a shoddy story and is condescending to MANKAI COMPANY actors in general. [[spoiler: With the tension disappearing between the God Troupe and MANKAI COMPANY, Haruto firmly develops the "Heart of Gold" part. He has a harsh way of speaking and is unafraid to speak his mind, but he loses his malicious edge. ]]
* NotSoDifferentRemark: [[spoiler:With Tsumugi and Taichi, the two MANKAI COMPANY members that are connected with the God Troupe and Tasuku. In the past, he felt personally slighted at the fact that Tasuku was not only a natural at acting, but that he was hard-working as well. Haruto felt a rift of difference between the man he considered was born and equipped with all the necessary traits of a great actor, and himself, someone who started from nothing to achieve a semblance of what a "real" actor is like. In the present, he still considers Tasuku his main rival which is reciprocated by the latter.]]
* RoseHairedSweetie: Subverted. Haruto is sweet to his fans, but he's a harsh person with a sharp-tongue.
* SoreLoser: Can be seen in the few events that he appears in where he loses against MANKAI COMPANY.
* TalentedButTrained: His prickly nature may give off the impression that Haruto is a conceited genius, but he's serious about acting and trains hard to hone his talent. [[spoiler: Haruto started at the very bottom of the trainees for the God Troupe because of his strong accent and his lack of training, but worked hard to become one of the top-billed actors for the troupe. ]]

* CrosscastRole: He performed as Juliet in the past MANKAI's ''Romeo and Juliet''.
* GenderBlenderName: He thinks that his name is like the heroine of a shoujo manga. Sadly, it is part of why people like to make fun of him.
* TheKlutz: Very clumsy. He ends up quitting the basketball club because of it.
* TheMourningAfter: [[spoiler:After Kasumi left the MANKAI COMPANY, his wife became the reason why he persevered in an unfamiliar and difficult work environment. 299[[folder:Yukio Tachibana]]
The previous director of MANKAI COMPANY and Izumi's father. His disappearance drove the start of the plot.
----
* DaddyHadAGoodReasonForAbandoningYou: Izumi is older than most examples, being around fifteen when her father left, but he still left with no explanation. Due to the lack of communication, Izumi had resigned herself to believe that her father might have been dead. Turns out in Episode 10 Chapter 8 of the Main Story [[spoiler: Yuzo revealed that Yukio was blacklisted from the entire theater industry by the Fleur Awards in Japan. He is alive, but working overseas. The circumstances that lead him to a vow of secrecy involved Madoka and Misumi's father, Kusumi, and their grandfather, Hakkaku. Kusumi was accused of plagiarizing his scripts, but Hakkaku begged Yukio not to make the scandal public. But the case leaked and the Fleur Award trustees wanted to blacklist the MANKAI COMPANY. Yukio compromised that he would shoulder the responsibility and forbid himself from any involvement regarding the MANKAI COMPANY. In return, the Fleur Awards would be open to nominating the MANKAI COMPANY.]]
* {{Determinator}}: How did he get Hakkaku, a famous playwright, to write for him and Reni? By yelling his name in front of his house and absolutely refusing to back down even when Hakkaku already rejected him.
* FamedInStory: Even in his disappearance, Yukio is well known throughout the theater community.
* {{Foil}}: To his own daughter! Both are talented theater directors and kind-hearted people that excel at making others' talent blossom. The main difference is that Yukio was a talented actor, but his daughter is [[LargeHam less so]].
* TheGhost: He has yet to be seen in person.
* GiverOfLameNames: It has to be said since he named the TeamPet cockatoo ''Kamekichi'' (a name that would more likely be given to pet turtles).
* TheKlutz: As said by Reni in his diary, Yukio stood out, not in a good way. He would trip on nothing and scatter things across the floor.
* LikeAGodToMe: How Reni views him when it comes to acting. Yukio has incredible acting skills, but refuses to stand on stage and prefers helping other actors to "bloom" on stage in their own way.
* MenCantKeepHouse: According to Izumi, it's part of his unbelievably clumsy nature. In her words, he cannot work any household appliances, and judging by the antics relayed to us by her, he could potentially cause a household fire if he tried to.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: His disappearance served as the catalyst and motivations for many characters. To wit, his disappearance drove the whole first part of the main story.

Tadoru is a world-traveler that works as an art curator and Meguru is a professional soccer player that plays DF. The rest of his siblings are presumed to be students.
----
* AlwaysIdenticalTwins: Noboru and Suberu. It may not be stated outright, but the two have the same face.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Both Tadoru and Meguru felt guilty festooning their responsibilities as older brothers to Tsuzuru, but they still care and look out for him in their own way. [[spoiler: Meguru gave up the chance to play FW in university so he can go professional as soon as possible to earn money for Tsuzuru's college funds.]]
* ChildishOlderSibling: Downplayed. Tadoru is the oldest and gives Tsuzuru headaches because of his overly laid-back personality. He also tends to do things without consideration of his surroundings.
* FamilyThemeNaming: In general, the siblings share the similar ending pattern of "-ru." Tadoru, Meguru, Tsuzuru, Noboru, Suberu, Tooru, Ataru, and Takeru are also all verbs. Only Kaoru and Yuzuru are nouns.
* HappilyMarried: Meguru becomes married to his partner in Tsuzuru's [On This Joyous Day] card and judging by his willingness to share his troubles and goals with her in ''Run around the field.'', the two enjoy a loving marriage.
* HiddenDepths: Tadoru is a world-traveler versed in various cultures and proficient in many languages. He is also not above bribing others when it comes to getting what he wants, at least in terms of getting art that would relate to his job. Itaru and Tadoru both lampshade that he's more than a free-spirited artist.
* IdenticalTwinIDTag: Noboru has blunt bangs in comparison to Suberu who has bangs that fan to the right.
* LovableJock: Meguru. He admits that he's a classic jock who's not good with academics and art, but he's a nice guy who cares for his family and treats his fans well.
* MassiveNumberedSiblings: According to ''Run around the field.'', their mother wanted to have enough children to form their own soccer team. She was close with 10!
* MotiveDecay: [[spoiler: Meguru wanted to become a FW, settled for being a DF in the hopes of funding Tsuzuru's college education. After suffering a minor lapse in motivation when he was not picked to be the representative DF for Japan, he thinks about becoming a coach before remembering his goal as he watched the play ''Run around the field.'' He vows to become a FW once again and aims for the national team.]]
* ShipperOnDeck: Kaoru in Tsuzuru's [MANKAI Birthday] states that he would like Izumi to marry Tsuzuru and become part of the Minagi family.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Any time Tsuzuru meets his siblings, there's a high likelihood a character will comment how strongly Tsuzuru and his siblings resemble each other. Not helped by the fact that everyone shares the same hair and eye color, the exception being Tadoru and Tsuzuru that dyed their hair, but even those two dyed their hair in the same shade.

* HeelRealization: In Act 2 Episode 1, Misaki '''finally''' realized just how much he neglected Masumi all these years and regretted it.

[[spoiler: Episode 9 revealed that Madoka is a ghostwriter for his father, the main scriptwriter for the God Troupe.]]
----
* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: It was not out of malice that Madoka did not attend Misumi's first play. He just has strong sense of filial duty, and obeyed his father's decision to not attend. When the director and Muku clearly stated that they needed Hakkaku's treasure chest for ''Misumi's'' sake, Madoka lightly admonished them for not telling him sooner, and gave them the treasure chest.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: The responsible one to Misumi's foolish one.

----
* [[AmazinglyEmbarrassingParents Amazingly Embarrassing Older Brother]]: He dotes on his younger brother and he enjoys bringing up stories from Tasuku's past as much as Tsumugi's does. For example, the stoic Tasuku once clung to his older brother and wanted to be a hero like in sentai television.
* BigBrotherWorship: Inverted. He admires Tasuku very much and collects all the [=DVDs=] featuring Tasuku playing the lead role.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Tasuku's [An Escort Card Invitation] backstage reveals that Fuyuki really likes helping people, [[MartyrWithoutACause sometimes to the point of sacrificing himself]]. He is late to a wedding party because of helping a grandma at the street, and during his student days, was late to school because he took a lost child to a police station. Tasuku is not very happy about this, but cannot bring himself to speak to Fuyuki because Fuyuki often saves him this way.
* FriendToAllChildren: Tasuku's [Night Mission] SSR shows that Fuyuki is very sweet to kids, which Tasuku is thoroughly impressed at. He also teaches Tasuku how to reach out to children for the upcoming traffic safety demonstration event.
* NiceGuy: Kind, gentle, and cheerful.

[[folder: Sakae Arisugawa]]
Homare's grandfather, appeared in a flashback in the ''My Master's Mesmerized by Mystery'' and ''The Luminous Circus'' event.
----
* BroodingBoyGentleGirl: Inverted. Sakae is the gentle NiceGuy to Miyako's grumpy IceQueen.
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: A grandparents variant. Sakae was kind, got along well with Homare, and taught him many things. Unfortunately, Sakae passed away when Homare was young, leaving his grandson with his IceQueen wife who later [[PoorCommunicationKills inadvertently caused a chain of events that greatly impacted Homare's life]]. While Homare appears to get along well with his mother, his father is never mentioned, if at all.
* DotingGrandparent: From what little we see, Sakae was a kind, meddlesome man who often tried to make his wife smile and shared a lot of wisdom with his dear grandson.
* MarryForLove: He already had an ArrangedMarriage prepared, but fell in love with Miyako and married her instead, despite the opposition from both sides of the family.
* PosthumousCharacter: He already passed away when Homare was young, before the story began, but appears in several flashbacks and plays an important role in Homare's story. He was the one who gave Miyako the pocket watch, which was then given to Homare.
[[/folder]]
[[folder: Miyako Arisugawa]]
Homare's grandmother, appeared in a flashback in the ''My Master's Mesmerized by Mystery'' event and as a person in the present in the ''Dazzling Rose Mansion'' event. Her name was revealed in the ''The Luminous Circus'' event, in the gift for her husband. She is a published haiku poet.
----
* BroodingBoyGentleGirl: Inverted. Miyako is the grumpy IceQueen to Sakae's gentle NiceGuy.
* GenerationXerox: Her husband gave her a pocket watch that said, "For you, with your mechanical heart." She would later give it to her grandson, who is just as mechanical as she is.
** In ''Luminous Circus'', she kept holding onto the painting she and her husband made even if it was already badly damaged, similar to how her grandson kept holding onto the pocket watch [[spoiler:even if it already stopped working]].
** Homare is also a poet like her, although Homare prefers free verse whereas she prefers haiku. They have similar drawing skills too.
* IceQueen: Cold and rarely smiles. Deconstructed as this sparked [[PoorCommunicationKills a misunderstanding]] between her and Homare that is the focus in ''My Master's Mesmerized by Mystery''. But as cold as Miyako can be, she certainly has a HiddenHeartOfGold. If anything, according to the 3rd anniversary book, her favorite MANKAI actor is [[TheCutie Sakuya]].
* InsultOfEndearment: She calls her husband meddlesome, but loves him very much regardless. She also calls her grandson troublesome and immature, but loves him very much as well.
* PoorCommunicationKills: A good chunk of Homare's grief in ''My Master's Mesmerized by Mystery'' came from the misunderstanding between them. [[spoiler:When Homare said that there was no point in keeping the pocket watch because it was broken, she instead gave it to Homare and told him that he was just like the watch. Homare thought his grandma meant that he was broken and unneeded like the pocket watch, but by the end of the event story, they found out that she actually meant that Homare was just as precious as the pocket watch was to her.]]
** In addition, as B's Log 2018 magazine and Homare's [MANKAI Memory] backstage reveal, Homare used to think that she disliked him because of her generally cold attitude.
* TheStoic: ''The Luminous Circus'' has Homare say that she did not shed tears during her husband's funeral and instead wore a DeterminedExpression, causing Homare to believe that she is a strong woman, which is actually not the case. A DeconReconSwitch, the fact that she rarely smiles and is generally emotionless is why Homare used to mistake her for disliking him and grew up fearing her. This also caused a PoorCommunicationKills situation that becomes a huge part of Homare's arc. However, after what transpired in ''My Master's Mesmerized by Mystery'', Homare realizes that she does love him and as the story progresses, learns and accepts that behind that stoicism lies a HiddenHeartOfGold.
* SugarAndIcePersonality: Sure, she is cold and often finds her husband meddlesome and the young Homare even avoided playing with her because she was always cranky, but she does love them. Even if they trouble her, she lets them do as they please in the end.
* TragicKeepsake: The pocket watch she received from her husband, which she would later give to Homare, and the painting she made with him. Even if they were broken, she still kept them.
* WhenSheSmiles: Her husband and grandson always try to make her smile and are very pleased when she does.
* YamatoNadeshiko: Her silhouette on MANKAI Stage depicts her in a kimono and a PrimAndProperBun. She is also a haiku poet and a kimono store regular, brews tea well, and has albums of Japanese buyo [=CDs=]. Homare says Miyako does not cook often, but at the same time she is capable of baking cookies and cooking gratin; Homare learns the latter from her. On top of that, she is stern and stoic to the point Homare used to think that she disliked him. Homare also uses her as a role model for his ''This is the Inner Palace, the Flower Garden'' role Murasakinomiya, an imperial consort.
