->'''Power Level:''' 6.3 (Season 1) '''||''' 6.5 (Season 2)
->'''Superpower:''' Barrier [[note]]Creates a barrier shell at any location that returns any damage when struck by an attacker. Along with controlling the barrier's size, he can cast the barrier shell upon himself for defending, as well as cast out the barrier shell on others to enclose them into submission. His high-tier Passive ability appears to be iron skin to the point that basic attacks to his normal body barely phase him.[[/note]]
----
The current "King" of Wellston High who's also the leader of the school's Turf War team, and is considered to be the 3rd strongest amongst the school's top-10. Arlo goes to great lengths to make sure that the school hierarchy remains in perfect order where the higher-tiers, including himself, look down on and abuse the lower-tiers. However, his philosophy to maintain order becomes threatened when the crippled newcomer, John, refuses to go along with the school's system.
\
After suffering a huge loss that made it clear that he's not the strongest at Wellston, Arlo loses all interest in being the school's King in order to focus on other things, such as figuring out the problems that surround Sera. He's eventually recruited into the authorities thanks to his connection with his aunt Valerie being a member, which he's set up as a junior working under the Wellston alumni, Kassandra. Arlo's role from then on has him being TheMole within the government trying to keep his Wellston classmates out of trouble due to the authorities having caught on to their superhero antics.
----

* AbdicateTheThrone: [[spoiler:He turns down the King position when John offers it back.]]
* AintTooProudToBeg: In chapter 145, [[spoiler:Arlo ends up in this position in an attempt to stop John from destroying Wellston's hierarchy. John rejects his apology, which Arlo asks what he must do to make John stop. However, John rejects it again claiming that Arlo can't do anything at this point]].
* ArtEvolution: His appearance in the prologue looks younger, and comes with browner hair, compared to his appearance in later chapters.
* AscendedMeme: The nickname Remi gives him, Asslo, started off as a joke in the comment section when the readers found out about his plans for John.
** It is revealed in Episode 308 that Kuyo made that nickname for Arlo.
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership:
** As the King of Wellston, Arlo makes it quite clear that he's the one in control. The lone exceptions are Seraphina, who has a higher power level than him, [[spoiler:and John after Arlo got his butt whopped by him]].
** Basically how Arlo became the King of Wellston. After the previous king, Rei, tried to change Wellston's hierarchy by making everyone equal no matter the power difference, it all went to hell the moment Rei graduated. Students who felt they were being held down by Rei began fighting throughout the school, which led to Arlo restoring the strong-to-weak hierarchy by beating up the fighting students himself.
** When Arlo first met Blyke and Isen before the start of the series, it was when the two of them were fighting. So in order to calm the two of them down, Arlo steps in and beats both of them up. This pretty much results in Blyke and Isen becoming Arlo's lackeys.
* BadassArmFold: He'll sometimes be displaying this given that he's a smug leader who likes to display his power and authority on others.
* BaitTheDog: With more and more evidence appearing that [[spoiler:John is faking being a cripple, Arlo goes about controlling all the events surrounding the former until it reaches a breaking point that finally causes John to go all-out with his powers against Arlo]].
* BarrierWarrior: His power is to create barriers that when attacked, [[AttackReflector damage the attacker]]. He can also cast out the barrier to basically trap people in a [[DeadlyForcefield barrier bubble]].
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor:
** He wanted to find out [[spoiler:John's ability]]. He [[CurbStompBattle did]].
** [[spoiler:He ordered John to search for a kidnapped Sera himself instead of always trying to boss Arlo to do it. The result is John going around beating up other students for their abilities to help with his solo search. Even attacking Isen]].
* BerserkButton: [[spoiler:He shows genuine anger when John calls him out as a poor excuse for a King]].
* BigGood: Surprisingly is this due to the fact he is the one keeping the order and is also the antagonist of the BigBad Joker.
* BreakTheHaughty: He loses a lot of his composure as the top-dog of Wellston following his [[spoiler:defeat to John]].
* CharacterDevelopment:
** [[spoiler:Through his interactions with John, as well as his crushing defeat to him that made it clear that John far outclasses him, Arlo begins to [[{{Hypocrite}} show cracks]] at keeping Wellston High's established hierarchy order]].
** [[spoiler:Arlo finally realizes in chapter 144 that he's the cause of Wellston's hierarchy falling apart for forcing John back into the rankings despite the latter knowing that he's not fit to be at the top. As a result, Arlo decides to seek out John, and actually apologizes to him for everything that happened]].
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Early on, Arlo damaging Rein well beyond her being able to fight anymore during their Turf War duel (even outright ignoring Broven's call for a forfeit) made Arlo come off as someone who performs highly questionable {{No Holds Barred Beatdown}}s on his opponents. While he's still very much a {{Jerkass}} as the series moves along, he hasn't performed such villainous actions since.
* ColorCodedCharacters: GoldColoredSuperiority.
* ConflictingLoyalty: Finds himself increasingly torn between his Wellstone friends and the [[spoiler: Authorities, who he's working for, his aunt is one of their higher ups, and are actively hunting those very same friends]].
* CurbstompBattle: As befitting someone of his power, Arlo routinely dishes these out.
** [[spoiler:He ends up on the receiving end of one from John when the latter finally decides to go all out with his powers against Arlo]].
** In chapter 129, [[spoiler:Illena tries to attack him, but his barrier leaves her right arm a bloody mess]].
* DissonantSerenity: Arlo looked noticeably calm and undeterred, both when Blyke was getting sliced up by Rein and again when he began brutalizing Rein straight afterwards. This is even more disconcerting when he shows the same expression [[spoiler:when John brutalized Meili and Ventus after being provoked into using his ability. The next two chapters has this averted as Arlo shows frustration as he thought back to his loss]].
** It might be the case of TheStoic, as Arlo actually is shown to care for the two, having Elaine heal them before himself.
* TheDreaded: Given that he's "King" of Wellston, the school students are sometimes seen being really afraid of him. Particularly Isen.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: His introduction fight against Rein during the Turf War against Agwin High School makes it quite obvious how he acts as the King of Wellston.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Even Arlo finds [[spoiler:John's manner of expressing authority to be overkill]].
* FatalFlaw: His fixation on keeping to the school's established power hierarchy keeps Arlo stuck from ever trying to improve the bullying problems that go on amongst the school's lower tiers, [[spoiler:which he finally becomes aware of after a group of Mid-tier students kidnapped and beat up a depowered Sera. John eventually calls him out for it in chapter 132, and threatens to destroy the hierarchy that Arlo is desperately trying to hold on to]].
** Such fixation to keeping to the school's hierarchy mostly stems from the fact that he witnessed Rei's failed attempt to change the school prior to Arlo becoming king. Rei's "everyone is equal" philosophy simply led to more fighting the moment Rei graduated, which Arlo was only able to calm down by restoring the old hierarchy.
* {{Foil}}: Towards John. Arlo works to keep order in Wellston as the King ruling at the top, but ends up having to deal with John constantly going against the school system that Arlo established. [[spoiler:Then it's revealed later on that John has the power like Arlo to rule as a King, but unlike Arlo using it to rule against the weak, John chooses to hide his powers in order to act like the weak]].
* ForcedToWatch: [[spoiler:Basically what John claims that he's going to make Arlo do. He's going to force Arlo to sit back and watch as John goes about dismantling the Wellston hierarchy that Arlo's been desperately trying to hold onto, and there's nothing Arlo can do to stop him. Given that Arlo already lost to John in a fight, he's unable to say anything back, and has to let John walk away]].
* TheHeavy: Is the most prominent antagonist person in the story, but is not the true villain.
* HeelRealization: Eventually realizes he was the one responsible for [[spoiler: setting John on his path to become [[VillainProtagonist Joker]] by trying to force him back into the hierarchy, and tries to apologize for it. But at that point, John is no longer willing to talk]].
* HeroicBSOD: While heroic isn't exactly the best way to describe Arlo, he still goes through a depression phase. [[spoiler:Arlo basically becomes lost in defeat not knowing what to as the King that's lost control of his Wellston hierarchy after John threatened to destroy it. Arlo eventually realized his massive screw-up that he was the one that forced John down that dark path against his will, but since he's weaker than John, he's forced to just sit back and watch John rampage against the Royals]].
* {{Hypocrite}}: Down the line, his actions start to go against his original beliefs.
** Cecile ends up viewing him as one [[spoiler:for acting like he desires to keep the strong-to-weak school hierarchy intact, yet he's perfectly fine with replacing her on the school newspaper team with Isen, who's believed to be weaker than her]].
** Illena ends up viewing him as one [[spoiler: for defending Sera despite the fact that she's now a depowered cripple]], yet he wouldn't do the same for other weaklings that he chooses to ignore. A few chapters later, Sera calls him out on this as well, which Arlo is unable to answer.
* IcyBlueEyes: He is cool, cold, and has blue eyes.
* InUniverseNickname: Remi ends up calling Arlo as "Asslo" down the line. The nickname itself actually started off as a fan-meme amongst the readers.
* {{Jerkass}}: Arlo tends to manipulate people a lot. He also heavily injured Rein well beyond the point where she could continue battling during the Turf War against Agwin High School. He also doubles as JerkWithAHeartOfGold, as rare as it is. He admires Rei, the former king of Weston high school, and is really close, and cares about Remi.
* JerkassHasAPoint : When John berates him [[spoiler:about letting a depowered Seraphina get hurt even though John ordered him to protect her, Arlo counters by mentioning the obvious fact that due to John being a closer friend to her, and for having a stronger ability than Arlo, it should be John that stands by her side to protect her. Unbeknownst to Arlo, John chooses to remain inactive due to his inhibition to use his power]].
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: In chapter 148, [[spoiler:Arlo comes to realize that he'll be unable to convince Sera that John is the school's masked Joker due to the fact that his actions of picking on John has pushed Sera away to the point of her being really antagonistic towards him. He also figures that even if she was convinced, it still might not be enough to stop John's rampage anyway. As a result, he apologizes to Sera for bothering her, and walks away]].
** [[spoiler:Ironically, that was probably the only thing he could do to actually make Sera doubt John, which led to her discovering the truth]].
* LaserGuidedKarma: Arlo puts in a huge effort to [[spoiler:manipulate and eventually attack John in order to force him to finally show off his true power, which would pinpoint where John fits in the school's power hierarchy. Unfortunately for him, John turns out to have a power much stronger than his, and is able to defeat Arlo and his lackeys, Meili and Ventus, in a 3-on-1 fight. From then on, Arlo is left shaken knowing that John could take his "King" status away at any time]].
** Him choking out Rein during the Turf War comes back to haunt him [[spoiler:when Rein is forced to work with Spectre, at which point she returns the favor.]]
* TheLeader: As the King of Wellston, and the leader of the school's Turf War team.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: In Season 2, his internship with the Authorities causes his friends - all of which for one reason or another have ''very'' legitimate reasons to distrust them - to doubt his loyalties and begin withholding information from him. Sera keeps him at arms length about her involvement with Spectre and simultaneously Remi, Blyke and Isen don't inform him about their vigilantism. Arlo eventually figures out they're all keeping secrets from him which feeds into his ConflictingLoyalties since he almost never has the full picture of what is going on with anyone.
* TheMole: After joining the authorities, Arlo uses whatever resources he can to try to keep Sera, Remi, Blyke, and Isen out of trouble due to the authorities marking them for arrest for Sera's work in the Spectre terrorist organization, and the superhero work of Remi, Blyke, and Isen. His aunt Valerie ([[spoiler:Arlo still not believing that she's EMBER's Volcan]]) eventually catches on that he warned Sera to run away from Wellston before the authorities could arrive to arrest her, which results in Valerie yelling at her nephew; questioning where his loyalties lie.
* MuggingTheMonster: He had [[spoiler:John]] attacked to determine his ability. [[spoiler:He did not anticipate him being strong enough to defeat him]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: In chapter 144, [[spoiler:Arlo finally has the epiphany moment that he was the one that caused Wellston to start to devolve into chaos when he forced John back into the school hierarchy against his will. Arlo also realizes his mistake that he didn't catch on that John already knew he wasn't fit to be the King, yet Arlo forced him back in anyway]].
* NoSell: Arlo's barriers are completely impenetrable to those with a lower power level than him. Even Seraphina damages herself breaking through it, [[spoiler:as well as John]], though she healed herself in seconds by [[TimeMaster rewinding]] the injury. Additionally, anyone who attacks the barrier appears to have the force the used reflected back on them, hurting them even more, though whenever his barrier breaks Arlo takes damage as well.
* OhCrap: Has this reaction in chapter 132 when [[spoiler:John threatens to destroy Wellston's strongest-to-weakest hierarchy system that Arlo is so fixated on sticking to]].
* OrderVersusChaos: The Order to John's Chaos. [[spoiler:Arlo goes to great lengths to keep the strong-to-weak hierarchy at Wellston intact. John however wants no part of it given that he's already experienced how bad the system turned out to be at New Bostin, and constantly goes against those in Wellston's established hierarchy]].
* ThePlan: He puts together a huge plan involving two of his lackies, Meili and Ventus, to force the crippled John to reveal where he fits in Wellston's hierarchy. His plan can be summed up as getting Sera suspended so that John is no longer protected by his powerful friend, ordering Meili and Ventus to break John's phone to make him feel alone being unable to keep in contact with Sera, and then pretending to befriend John in order to lead him to a location where he, Meili, and Ventus ambush him. In the end, [[spoiler:Arlo's plan backfires when it turns out that John is a more powerful god-tier who beats them in a 3-on-1 fight]].
* PlayingCardMotifs: The King of Wellston for obvious reasons. [[spoiler:He loses his overall status once John takes over as King in Season 2]].
* PowerLevel: 6.3 God-tier.
** During his second year at Wellston, Arlo was a 5.4 High-tier.
** He's confirmed in late Season 2 Part 2 to have gone through a power increase up to 6.5.
* PowersDoTheFighting: Stands around and lets his barriers do all the work. He either puts the barrier around himself, or he casts it to trap others within a bubble.
* TheProudElite: He takes his role as a high-tier at the top of Wellston quite seriously in order to maintain the status quo of the school's power hierarchy, [[spoiler:which is why it bugs the hell out of Arlo that his fellow high-tier classmates, John and Sera, aren't playing out their roles as a part of elite society]].
* SecretKeeper:
** [[spoiler:Arlo finally realizes that John's power is truly much stronger after the latter defeats the former in a fight. From then on, Arlo keeps John's true strength a secret due to the fact that he would lose his status as Wellston High's "King". Over time, other Wellston students learn about Arlo's defeat, such as Elaine, Cecile, Isen, Remi, and Blyke]].
** [[spoiler:Due to the Spectre attack, Arlo started off as one of the few that knew about Sera losing her powers. However, said secret was leaked to the whole school once Juni showed of her article revealing Sera's depowerment to the rest of the students]].
* ShipTease: With Remi, whom he cares deeply for.
* SmugSmiler: So many times he is seen sporting one. Especially early on as he acts as the school's King. However, [[spoiler:he starts to lose that smugness the more he interacts with John, and especially after John beats his ass]].
* StatusQuoIsGod: He truly believes in keeping Wellston's hierarchy where one's PowerLevel decides their status within the school believing it to be the best scenario to keep the school peaceful. [[spoiler:He pretty much gives up trying to take on John again after his loss since he believes that John being more powerful than him keeps to the school's status quo. To his surprise, Remi rejects the status quo when Arlo tries to convince her to [[ThrowingTheFight throw her upcoming fight]] with John, which she plans not to]].
* TheStoolPigeon: [[spoiler:Having been cornered by John to the point of being forced to watch the latter go about dismantling Wellston's hierarchy, Arlo decides to approach Sera in chapter 147 since he knows that Sera is John's only true weakness. Arlo reveals to her that John is the Joker that's been beating up the other students in the hopes that Sera could be the one to finally convince John to stop his rampage]].
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: Arlo and John hate each other. But both value their friendship with Sera more than their dislike for one another.
* ThrowingTheFight: In chapter 146, he asks for Remi to throw her fight with [[spoiler:John since he already knows that Remi won't be able to defeat him]]. Remi however completely rejects the idea.
* TookALevelInBadass: During his Wellston years before the start of the series, Arlo's ability powered up from 5.4 to 6.3.
** In late Season 2 Part 2, Arlo decides to start training up his defensive Barrier in order to use it more offensively after witnessing how well his aunt Valerie uses Barrier on offense. His training eventually allows him to be able to fire Barrier walls at people. This training causes Arlo to go through a power increase from 6.3 to 6.5.
* TsurimeEyes: Arlo is has sharp, upturned eyes, and he is prideful and arrogant.
* WhatTheHellHero:
** [[spoiler:Eventually, Arlo has enough of John constantly pretending to be a cripple despite knowing that he has the power to defend himself, and protect a depowered Sera, from those weaker than him]].
** In chapter 132, [[spoiler:he calls out John for why it was necessary to go overboard at beating up Isen just to copy the Hunter power to help John search for Sera. John of course beat him up due to the fact that Isen treated him poorly during the fake interview beforehand]].
* XanatosGambit: [[spoiler: Subverted during chapters 53 to 55. While Arlo can get John to reveal his true power or a chance to subjugate John and show him who is boss, he underestimates how powerful John is and essentially puts his position as King in danger as he has now earned the enmity of the true strongest male student in the school]].
* YouAreTooLate: Basically what he says to Isen in chapter 139 [[spoiler:due to Isen warning him about what John did in the past that got him expelled at New Bostin. Arlo replies back to Isen that such information is useless now since the former had already lost to John in a fight]].

->'''Power Level:''' 5.4 (Season 1) '''||''' 5.8 (Season 2)
->'''Superpower:''' Lightning [[note]]Fires electric bolts. Her high-tier Passive ability allows her to sense electronics.[[/note]]
----
The current "Queen" of Wellston High, and the 4th strongest amongst the school's top-10. Despite being the school Queen, Remi only holds the position because Seraphina doesn't want it. Remi is also a school Turf War member, and unlike a majority of the Wellston students, Remi is actually one of the [[NiceGirl nicer]] ones who doesn't use her powers to abuse the weak. She eventually creates the Wellston Safehouse alongside her friends as her way of making up to the Wellston students for not realizing the bullying and violence that's been going on amongst the lower-tiers.
\
Remi also holds a deep hatred for the EMBER organization due to them killing her brother, Rei, for becoming a superhero. Her investigations into the organization eventually leads Remi into becoming a superhero herself, which she goes with the superhero name, X-Rei, in honor of her fallen brother. She eventually forms a hero group with her two close friends, Blyke and Isen, to fight against EMBER, which eventually leads to them teaming up with Kuyo, who's also taken up superhero vigilantism.
----
* AmateurSleuth: She's quite perceptive for her age. Remi's been keeping up with things on EMBER to find out more about them since the organization killed her brother for becoming a superhero vigilante. She also begins to put together that there might be a connection between EMBER and the authorities since they desire to keep to the current society's status quo where the strong bully the weak.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion:
** In chapter 146, she rejects Arlo's ThrowingTheFight suggestion unable to understand why he's perfectly fine with letting [[spoiler:John, who she knows at this point is the dangerous masked Joker, rule the school just because Arlo lost to him in a single fight previously]]. Arlo is unable to answer back.
** In chapter 150, she questions John [[spoiler:why he has the right to blame her for Wellston being unsafe when he's done nothing but remain idle on the sideline the past two years despite being the most powerful out of everyone. In return, John answers that it's because the high-tiers let him down during the time he played cripple]].
* ArtEvolution: Her appearance in the first couple chapters had her wearing large blue earrings, which haven't been seen ever since.
* BadassAdorable: Remi is this due to her overall character design (big eyes, pink hair, smaller stature), her [[GenkiGirl cheerful disposition]], and her strength as a capable High-Tier.
* BerserkButton: Whenever someone talks bad about her dead brother.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: [[spoiler:When Brimms uses Rei' ability to kill someone and stalls for time while she interrogates him, Remi furiously electrocutes him.]]
* BigBrotherWorship: She really respects her older brother, Rei, for trying to make Wellston, and the world in general, a better place. [[spoiler:In chapter 151, she gave up trying to convince John to stop his Joker rampage the moment he started to badmouth Rei]].
* BigGood: [[spoiler: Since getting serious about using her position as Wellston's Queen to improve the school for everyone, she's quickly becoming this for the student body, especially after she establishes the Safe House, where students can find refuge away from the tier system]].
* TheCameo: She gets a brief appearance in Rei's 2-part side story. When Rei calls home to speak with his mother, Remi pops in, and talks to Rei about how her start to 5th grade is going.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** Investigating EMBER due to the death of her brother, Rei, motivates Remi into becoming a Superhero.
** By chapters 150 and 151, [[spoiler:John finally gives a much needed wake-up call to Remi that she's been oblivious to all the bullying issues that's been going on behind-the-scenes at Wellston, which Remi admits to herself that she's been no better than the authorities when it comes to ignoring the lower tiers. After this, she actively begins breaking up fights, putting the lower-tier students at ease, and working towards towards making Wellston a safer, more peaceful place]].
* CheapCostume: Her first Superhero costume as "X-Rei" is basically a standard sweater with an X on it with an ear loop mask which she drew a smiley face on.
* ColorCodedCharacters: PinkHeroine.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Pink-hair with pink-eyes.
* ADayInTheLimelight: In the second half of Season 1, she gets a couple [[StoryArc Story Arcs]] that show off her first two missions as a Superhero that goes after Waldo and Alana.
* {{Determinator}}: When Remi sets her mind to accomplish something, she goes to great lengths to get it done.
** She's greatly determined to bring EMBER to justice for killing her brother, even to the point of going against the warning of her friends to not put herself in danger for the sake of {{Revenge}}.
** [[spoiler:Once John starts attacking Wellston's Royals as the masked Joker to go about his plan of bringing down the hierarchy, Remi leads the school investigation alongside Blyke and Isen to stop Joker's rampage. She's so set on defeating Joker that she rejects Arlo's ThrowingTheFight suggestion]].
* FaceDoodling: She and Isen doodled Blyke's face before this first trip as a vigilante.
* FatalFlaw:
** Arlo considers Remi's [[{{Determinator}} determination]] to stop at nothing until she's accomplished her goal to be this since she tends to take on objectives that put her in massive danger. There is indeed a bit of truth to this given that Remi's {{Superhero}} antics almost resulted in her death to Volcan had Isen and Blyke not been there to save her. Then there's Remi's objective to investigate and unmask who [[spoiler:Wellston's mysterious Joker is, which Arlo asks her to [[ThrowingTheFight throw the fight]] with John since he knows that John will completely overpower and brutalize her. Of course, Remi refuses]].
** Her obliviousness to the world outside of her little friendship bubble is also this. As the story moves along, it becomes quite clear that Remi's time at Wellston is primarily spent around her three primary friends, Arlo, Blyke, and Isen. The result is her thinking that everything about her school-life has been fine when in actuality, there's been a lot of bullying going on behind-the-scenes at Wellston; including not knowing that Arlo and Isen have also been treating lower-tiered students poorly. [[spoiler:Her private talk with John in chapter 150 finally gives her a bit of an eyeopener that she's been ignorant to the bullying problems going on amongst the school's lower tiers]].
* FightUnscene: Her duel with Cecile that resulted in Remi taking Cecile's Queen status is only shown in one brief flashback image. Cecile is on the ground having already been defeated.
* {{Foil}}: To Cecile. Both have experience as Wellston's Queen, and it's clear that Cecile and Remi are not on good terms due to the fact that Cecile lost her Queen status to Remi through a fight the two of them had in the past. Remi also tends to be portrayed as the nice girl while Cecile is shown to be harsh and condescending.
* FreudianTrio: As she is headstrong and sentential of the trio, she is the TheMcCoy of the trio.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Despite her [[NiceGirl kind]] personality and naivety, there's a reason why she's the Queen of Wellston. [[spoiler: She's willing to face down any foe (Ember and Tuesday/John), regardless of whether or not they are stronger than her, for the sake of her perceived justice.]]
* InUniverseNickname: Arlo calls her Pinky.
* LeeroyJenkins: [[spoiler: Was shown to jump and attack Brimms when Brimms killed people with lightning.]]
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Overall, Remi suffers bad from this due to the bubble that surrounds her amongst the top of the Wellston hierarchy. Outside of her friendship bubble with Arlo, Isen, and Blyke, she knows very little about what is actually going on in the school, such as the bullying that goes on amongst the lower tiers, [[spoiler:which leaves her confused as to why Joker/John is going to such lengths to throw the school into chaos by beating up Remi's friends and other fellow students]].
** She catches on that Arlo and Isen have been hiding something from her. [[spoiler:These being that John beat the two of them up, and the events that led to Sera being depowered. She finally learns about John doing both of these in chapter 146]].
** During her private conversation with John in chapter 150, [[spoiler:she finally learns just how unsafe Wellston actually is because of all the behind-the-scenes bullying]].
* MeaningfulName: Her "X-Rei" Superhero name honors her brother.
* NiceGirl: She is one of the few people who are kind and polite. Even tries to help John at one point. Rei's 2-part side story also makes it quite clear that Remi's nice attitude comes from her mother's good parenting.
* NiceMeanAndInbetween: Remi is the nice one as she is polite and friendly.
* PlayingCardMotifs: The Queen of Wellston for obvious reasons. [[spoiler:She gets to remain Queen once John takes over in Season 2]].
* ThePowerOfLanguage: [[spoiler:After learning that the masked Joker who's been going around beating up other Wellston students is John, she confronts him in chapter 149 to try to talk things out rather than waiting it out until John fights her]].
* PowerLevel: 5.4, High-tier.
** She's confirmed in late Season 2 Part 2 to have gone through a power increase up to 5.8.
* PrecisionFStrike: [[spoiler:Remi normally does not cuss, but when Brimms uses lightning on Kurt and one of his goons, she jumps and curses "b*stard" after him.]]
* PutOnABus: More like the story starts her off on a bus where Remi was away from Wellston for a week because she had to attend her brother's funeral. As a result, Seraphina took her place for the Turf War match against Agwin High School.
* {{Revenge}}: Desires this against EMBER for killing her brother, Rei.
* RoseHairedSweetie: She has pink hair, is generally nice, and likes to think optimistically about other people.
* SecretKeeper:
** [[spoiler:Sera reveals to her in chapter 92 that she lost her powers. However, the entire school ends up learning about Sera's depowerment several chapters later due to Juni's article]].
** By chapter 146, [[spoiler:she ends up learning about John being the Joker that's been terrorizing Wellston due to Blyke being suspicious of John, which he then forced Isen to admit the truth, who already knew. Isen also reveals in this chapter to Remi (and Blyke) that Arlo had already been defeated by John]].
* ShockAndAwe: Her ability, "Lightning."
* ShipTease: With both Arlo (whom she calls Asslo) and Blyke.
* SkilledButNaive: Despite her investigation skills, Remi seems to remain oblivious to all the bullying that goes on at Wellston. This is mostly a result of the bubble she ended up in amongst the Royals where she knows very little of the outside world beyond her friendships with Arlo, Isen, and Blyke.
* {{Superhero}}: Remi eventually decides to become one to take after her dead brother because she feels that no one is taking the threat of EMBER as seriously as her. She goes with the Superhero name, "X-Rei."
* StrongFamilyResemblance: She got her red eyes from her mother's side of the family.
* SuperHeroOrigin: The death of her brother, Rei, leads to Remi wanting to bring to justice the EMBER villains that killed him. She takes on becoming an electric-using Superhero similar to her brother as her way of honoring him.
* TokenGoodTeammate: Implied with Remi. Despite being one of the higher-tier students, she has so far not acted antagonistic towards John compared to her peers, even when [[spoiler: John lashes out at her on impulse]].
* TookALevelInBadass: As a result of the experience from her vigilante battles, Remi is confirmed by late Season 2 Part 2 to have gone through a power increase from 5.4 to 5.8.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: She's usually seen with Blyke and Isen.
** When the 3 of them spent some time at the mall, [[spoiler:they tried to confront the man at the Gauge Vendor after Remi discovers the tracker inside her teddy bear reward]].
** When Remi decides to become a Superhero, Blyke and Isen are convinced to join her as support.
** Remi also teams up with Blyke and Isen to [[spoiler:investigate and unmask the Joker (John)]] that's been beating up the Royals at Wellston.
* TranquilFury: Episode 79. When talking to Arlo about superheroes and EMBER, a girl from Agwin pours her drink on Remi's head and insults superheroes. Even while handing said person her ass, Remi's expression never changes from neutral, but it's clear that she is ''wrathful''.
* WideEyedIdealist: She's a NiceGirl who seems to believe in Arlo's hierarchy establishing order at Wellston. As a result, she's developed a friendship amongst the school's Royals, such as Arlo, Isen, and Blyke, under the belief that they're having a great time at school together. Unfortunately, her view doesn't extend any further than this bubble, which has left her completely oblivious to all the bullying that goes on at the school amongst the lower tiers. She doesn't even catch on that two of her close friends, Arlo and Isen, have treated the crippled John horribly. [[spoiler:Once John starts attacking Royals as the masked Joker out of {{Revenge}}, and to push forward his plan of destroying the hierarchy, she finally decides to act against Joker since she's unable to understand why he's targeting the Royals]].
* XRayVision: She can pull this off to a certain extent if an item is electronic, such as [[spoiler:seeing the bugs that have been implanted in the toy bears being offered by the man running the Gauge Vendor at the mall]].

----
A Wellston High student who works as the head of the school newspaper, ''Wellston Weekly'', was the former "Queen" of the school before losing her status to Remi. As the 5th strongest amongst the top 10, Cecile shows off an [[TheProudElite elitist attitude]] where she believes that the strong should be held to a higher standard than the weak.
----

* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She's tall, attractive, aloof, and imposing and has long black hair.
* ColorCodedCharacters: Pine [[GreenAndMean Green]].
* CurbStompBattle:
** [[spoiler:Cecile tries to attack Arlo when he forces her off the newspaper team. It didn't go well for her as she ends up a bloody mess, and is forced to walk away]].
** In chapter 133, Cecile uses her power rope to wrap up Mardin's legs, which causes him to drop head first to the floor.
** In chapter 143, [[spoiler:Cecile ends up on the receiving end of one from John. She's left in a bloody mess lying on the ground unconscious]].
* DarkActionGirl: Cecile is strong and morally ambiguous.
* TheDragon: Joker's 2nd in command.
* DealWithTheDevil: Made one with [[spoiler:John who does fulfill her wish of having Arlo dethroned. However, John had no intention of actually ruling in his place, ruining all of Cecile's plans.]]
* DudeNotFunny: When John laughs at her [[spoiler:scared reaction moments after threatening her as the next on his school hit list, Cecile thinks John was playing a joke with her, and didn't find the threat funny. However, John replies that he wasn't joking since beating up Cecile is needed to continue his plan of destroying Arlo's Wellston hierarchy]].
* EnemyMine: [[spoiler:In an effort to get on the good side of Wellston's true King, Cecile approaches John to inform him that she knows where the bully students stashed Sera after kidnapping her. John controls his anger enough to go along with the plan, which Cecile then leads him to Sera's location. Afterwards, John agrees to team up with her against Arlo despite knowing that Cecile's only sucking up to him to get her elite-status back. Even after John beats her up as part of his plan to destroy the school hierarchy, the two of them appear to still be working together]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: [[spoiler: Even Cecile has trouble stomaching the amount of violence Joker inflicts on people.]]
* EvilIsNotAToy: Ends up learning this painfully as all of her plans go down the drain after realizing that [[spoiler:John has no intention to rule the school after taking it over, leaving it completely in chaos.]]
* FightUnscene: Her duel with Remi that lost her the status as Wellston's Queen is only shown in one brief flashback image. Cecile is on the ground having already been defeated.
* {{Foil}}: To Remi.
* HypercompetentSidekick: Downplayed. [[spoiler: She does a lot of the busy work for John that would make it easier to implicate him as Joker like gathering powers for him to copy.]]
* ICantLookGesture: In chapter 148, even she looks the other way when [[spoiler:John beats up Isen for trying to spy on John and Cecile's meeting]].
* {{Jerkass}}: Acts as such towards Remi for not playing out her correct role as a high-tier. It's implied that Cecile hasn't gotten over the fact that Remi defeated her in the past.
* KnowsTheRopes: Her Conjure: Vines ability is creating a powerful magic rope that she can control to fight people or simply [[BoundAndGagged tie them up]].
* TheLeader: Plays out such a role for the school's press team.
* MakeUpIsEvil: While calling her evil is quite overboard, she's still a {{Jerkass}} Wellston student that wears green eye shadow.
* MightMakesRight: She ridicules Remi for not enforcing her demands through force.
* OhCrap: She has this reaction in chapter 140 when [[spoiler:John informs her that she's the next that needs to get beat up after Blyke. She actually goes through this twice since Cecile thinks he was just making a joke at first only for John to tell her that he wasn't kidding]].
* OutOfFocus: After the huge supporting role she played as one of [[spoiler:King John's]] supporters in Season 2 Part 1, she's a complete no-show in Season 2 Part 2 other than one brief scene at the start of it.
* ThePlan: [[spoiler:To get back at Arlo, who she now views as a hypocrite as a King who replaced her "elite"-self for lower-tiers despite Arlo believing that order by power runs the school, she decides to get back at him by teaming up with John, whom she knows is the school's powerful Shadow King, to possibly dethrone Arlo]].
* PlayingCardMotifs: Cecile used to be the "Queen" of Wellston, but ended up losing the status to Remi. [[spoiler:She rises back up to the Jack position once John takes over in Season 2]].
* TheProudElite: Compared to other students, Cecile takes her role as one of Wellston's top elites the most seriously. She even [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech calls out]] Remi for not playing out her role as the school's Queen. [[spoiler:This is also why Cecile takes it really hard when Arlo takes away her "elite"-status by replacing her with Isen as the head of the school newspaper]].
* PowerLevel: 5.2 High-tier
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: She calls out Remi for acting too weak to put someone in their place, and as a result, she doesn't have a strong enough will to dominate someone, and force out the information that she wants from Cecile. Cecile also calls out Remi for giving high-tiers a bad name by hanging out with people that are lower-tier than her such as Blyke and Isen, and even tried to help out a cripple (John) at one point.
* {{Revenge}}: [[spoiler:Desires this against Arlo after being removed from the school newspaper, and viewing him as a King that's a complete hypocrite]].
* SecretKeeper: [[spoiler:She learns from the information that Terrence gathered how John had defeated Arlo, Ventus, and Meili in a fight, and that John is hiding the fact that he's Wellston's true King. However, she's unable to reveal the information due to Arlo keeping a close eye on her since he knows that Terrence has been snooping around]].
* SideKick: Becomes this for Joker
* SillyRabbitIdealismIsForKids: Cecile's point of view to Rei and Remi's idealism.
* SmugSuper: Is just as arrogant as most of the high tiers at Wellston and is the 5th strongest student there.
* SpeakIllOfTheDead: She insults [[PosthumousCharacter Rei]] and his beliefs.
* TsurimeEyes: She has sharp eyes, and she is prideful, arrogant, and a bit sassy.
* UndyingLoyalty: She is extremely loyal to her newspaper crew to the point of refusing to hand over the name of the anonymous reporter who spied on the fight that involved Remi, Blyke, and Isen at Kovoro Mall. However, the same can't be said when Arlo chose to stop by the press room looking for answers.
* VillainTeamUp: [[spoiler:In a way, John and Cecile play the villain duo that goes about beating up the Wellston Royals to throw the school into chaos by dismantling the hierarchy. John does all the work, but Cecile's been supporting him ever since the two teamed up]].

----
A FieryRedhead student of Wellston High that is often seen [[ThoseTwoGuys alongside]] Isen, and is considered to be the "Jack" of the school. Blyke is also a member of the school's Turf War team and is considered to be the 6th strongest amongst the school's top 10. Eventually, Blyke is forced to become John's roommate after the latter is forced to start living at the school's boy dorm, which the two of them aren't on the greatest of terms. Later, Blyke moves to Isen's room, and his relationship with John improves.
\
After suffering several defeats to Wellston's Joker, Blyke comes to the decision that he needs to get stronger. Thus, he starts to delve into superhero vigilantism to further power up his ability. He ends up being named as the superhero, Nobody, due to saying that he's "nobody" to a district citizen. Along with meeting and teaming up with Kuyo during one of his missions, Blyke eventually joins in with Remi's superhero group to bring EMBER to justice.
----
* ArtEvolution: His hair was a darker shade of red in the first couple chapters.
* BerserkButton: He tends to get angry towards people who wrong his friends, such as Remi and Isen. As a result, he [[ThisIsUnforgivable holds a lot of anger]] towards John after witnessing him [[DontYouDarePityMe hit Remi away]] when she was trying to help him, and for lashing out at Isen even though they just helped John up after the cripple got bullied by Zeke.
* CharacterDevelopment:
** Blyke starts to become sympathetic towards low-tiers after witnessing how bad they had it in the Branish District being taken advantage of by Waldo. As a result, he starts trying to get on friendlier terms with John.
** It's clear once Season 2 gets going that his two losses to Wellston's Joker hurt him deep. As a result, Blyke starts to delve into vigilantism once it becomes clear that he needs to get stronger to protect those he cares about.
* CheapCostume: His vigilante disguise is basically a gray hoodie with a black hat and black turtleneck shirt that covers up his mouth and nose. It somewhat makes him look like a {{Ninja}}.
* ColorCodedCharacters: RedIsHeroic, RedIsViolent.
* CurbStompBattle: In chapter 138, [[spoiler:Blyke ends up on the receiving end of one from John when the latter begins his plan to dismantle the school hierarchy]].
* ADayInTheLimelight: Once Season 2 gets going, Blyke gets a couple [[StoryArc Story Arcs]] revolving around his vigilante missions, which he uses as a means to further power up his ability.
* EnergyWeapon: Creates energy from his hands that he fires as laser beams at his enemies.
** Later on, he gains the ability to fire off a burst of energy off from his body that causes everyone around him to get knocked back.
* EurekaMoment: In chapter 146, Blyke was already starting to suspect that [[spoiler:Wellston's masked Joker is John due to how it's too much of a coincidence that Joker having no copied powers makes him a cripple similar to John. However, he admits it's not much to go on just being a GutFeeling. A moment after, Remi asks if Isen knows anything about this, which suddenly makes it clear to Blyke that Isen had known this whole time that John is the Joker due to Blyke remembering that Isen has been acting oddly around John ever since Isen investigated John's background]].
* FatalFlaw: His [[FieryRedhead short temper persona]] tends to cause Blyke to perform actions before actually thinking about how to go about it logically beforehand. One example is the moment Blyke witnessed John hit away Remi's hand, his first instinct is to fire an Energy Beam out of anger at the crippled John without thinking that said attack could have seriously injured him.
** Isen even calls Blyke out on this flaw believing that Blyke would have gone off doing something stupid had Isen revealed to him that [[spoiler:John is the masked Joker who's been beating up other Wellston students]].
* FieryRedhead: His tempter is a bit short.
* FlippingTheBird:
** Gives one to Payton the mall security guard behind his back.
** Gives multiple middle fingers behind John's back after John harshly rejects Blyke's attempt to befriend him.
** Gives one to Zeke after he brags that John is on his side.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Blyke's PoorPredictableRock moment where he starts getting cold feet about possibly being the next Wellston King due to his ability being too predictable could be taken as this. Down the line, Blyke starts training up his Energy Beam ability until it upgrades to Energy Discharge, which results in him gaining a new skill that allows for Blyke to release a large amount of energy from his body to knock back those close to him. Suddenly, Blyke's ability doesn't seem so predictable.
* FreudianTrio: Despite being a FieryRedhead, he is the Ego of the trio, being a loyal friend to balance the two. He balances out Remi's empathy and decisiveness and Isen's apathy and indecisiveness.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: During Remi's superhero mission in the Lewes District, Isen starts to get [[HeroicBSOD cold feet]] after realizing that someone killed Alana in cold blood. Blyke tries to snap him out of it since Isen has no time having a nervous breakdown when Remi is currently struggling to defeat Volcan.
* GutFeeling: In chapter 146, [[spoiler:Blyke reveals to Remi and Isen that he came to suspect John to be Wellston's masked Joker once he thought about how the Joker not being able to copy abilities would make him powerless similar to how John comes off as a cripple]]. His GutFeeling was correct.
* HandBlast: His [[EnergyWeapon Frickin' Laser Beams]] come from his hands.
* HealingFactor: Fast self-regeneration appears to be the passive ability that Blyke obtains once he's achieved high-tier. Having obtained injuries from his nighttime vigilante missions, they're shown to have quickly healed by the time he wakes up the next day.
* InSeriesNickname: When Blyke is in his vigilante disguise, a citizen asks who he is. Blyke answers that he's nobody, which to his shock when he sees that his actions made the news, "Nobody" ended up becoming his official vigilante nickname.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Subverted. From John's perspective, he appears to be nothing but blunt and impatient, only caring for his friends. However, once the story moves outside of John's POV, the audience can see that Blyke is generally cordial to those around him.
* KamehameHadoken: How Blyke's powers tend to appear offensively when he makes the body motion as if one is about to pull off the Kamehameha.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop:
** Blyke becomes increasingly annoyed by Isen always coming to John's defense for some reason he doesn't know. [[spoiler:The reason being that Isen knows that John isn't actually a cripple, and fears what will happen if something [[BullyingTheDragon breaks]] John to the point of going off on everyone at the school]].
** He tries to reassure John, who Blyke still sees as a cripple, that they will find the masked man that's been beating people up around the school. [[spoiler:Unbeknownst to him, John's the one who's been beating people up. Blyke learns of this by chapter 146 from Isen]].
* LongRangeFighter: Given that his power can shooting lasers, Blyke can remain at a distance and shoot beams at people from afar. During Remi's superhero missions, he basically played the sniper support role by firing beams down upon Remi's enemies from nearby rooftops.
* LuminescentBlush: Sports one when he receives praise from Sera for shooing away the students that were bullying her and John.
* {{Ninja}}: His Season 2 vigilante disguise makes him look like a makeshift ninja. He comes wearing in dark clothes and keeps most of his face covered up.
* NiceMeanAndInbetween: Blyke is in-between as he has a short temper, but he is genuinely kind.
* NitroBoost: Blyke can reverse his Energy Beam to boost himself in the opposite direction that his hands are aiming towards. For example, if he's aiming his two hands forward, the boost would push himself backward.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished:
** In season 1 he defends Remi from John attacking her when she was trying to help him, as John wasn't aware of his surroundings. When he used his Energy Beam to fire a warning shot between them, John interpreted it as Blyke trying to shoot a hole through his face and later puts Blyke in the hospital in critical condition in retaliation. While Blyke's reaction was overkill for getting someone without powers to stand down he didn't actually hurt or try to hurt anyone and was actually stopping a fight from breaking out.
** In season 2, he saves Amora from being tormented by Lance's gang, but in return, she lashes out at him and leaves.
* NotQuiteFlight: Blyke is able to use his Energy Discharge ability to propel himself into the air, redirect himself when falling or help propel him across rooftops, but not for much longer than a quick burst.
* OhCrap: When he gets caught by Doctor Darren for getting in a fight with Isen.
* PaperThinDisguise: Wears one when he and Isen are spying on Grayson. Grayson ended up recognizing him as the Jack who got beaten by Rein (Queen of Agwin).
* PlayingCardMotifs: He was chosen to be the Jack of the school within Arlo's hierarchy. [[spoiler:He ends up losing his position completely once John takes over in Season 2]].
* PoorPredictableRock: After the Volcan fight, Blyke starts to get cold feet thinking that he might not be cut out to be Wellston's next King due to his energy beam ability being incredibly predictable compared to what Sera, Arlo, Remi, and even Isen can pull off.
* PowerLevel: 4.5 Elite-tier.
** During his first year at Wellston, Blyke was a 3.6 Elite-tier.
** As a result of his training and vigilante missions in Season 2, Blyke eventually upgrades to 5.0 High-tier.
** He's confirmed in late Season 2 Part 2 to have gone through a power increase up to 5.1.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: Part of his Season 2 level-up plays into this. During his first vigilante mission, Blyke looks like he's struggling against multiple villains, but his desire to get stronger in order to protect his friends, such as Remi and Isen, leads to his ability going through a change that knocks all the villains back. It can be assumed that this was the moment his Energy Beam was upgraded to Energy Discharge.
* PunchedAcrossTheRoom: Once Blyke's power upgrades to Energy Discharge, he gains the ability to release a large amount of energy off himself that knocks back anyone close to him.
* RedIsHeroic: As he goes through character development and realizes more about how unequal the hierarchy system has made their society, he, alongside Remi, becomes two of the more overtly heroic members of the cast, from going out to protect people as vigilantes to trying to improve the lives of the low-mid tiers at Wellston.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: By chapter 152, Blyke ditches [[spoiler:sharing a dorm room with John since he knows by this point that John is the powerful masked Joker that's been beating up other students]].
* SecretKeeper: By chapter 146, [[spoiler:his recent suspicions along with piecing it together that Isen's been keeping John in check is enough for Blyke to realize that the Joker who's been terrorizing Wellston this whole time is John. Isen also reveals in this chapter to Blyke (and Remi) that Arlo had already been defeated by John]].
* ShaggyDogStory: Blyke and Kuyo's efforts to free the Grasshill district by capturing Lennon, and having said amplifier terrorist sent off to prison, ended up being for nothing as Lennon was released by the Authorites and retook control of Grasshill anyway. Thus, showing that superhero vigilantes capturing amplifier terrorists that took over districts are pointless as they're actually backed by the [[GovernmentConspiracy government]] by using amplified terrorists to help them oversee the populace.
* ShoutOut: The way Blyke uses his ability is [[Franchise/DragonBall oddly familiar]]. There's even a reference later on where Blyke is seen watching ''Dragon Ball'' on TV.
* SirSwearsalot: Often cusses in his appearance. Even Uru-chan noted how a swearing warning often appears whenever he and John are in a chapter.
* SmarterThanYouLook: Despite his recklessness and short temper, he's able to piece together [[spoiler:Joker (John)'s way of fighting, and begins to suspect something about John after seeing how muscular he is despite supposedly being a cripple]]. He's also a good student, being one of the few characters to be consistently shown studying on-screen and finding lectures easy to understand.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Blyke holds a huge grudge against John after the latter [[DontYouDarePityMe hits Remi away]] when she was just trying to help him after he had been bullied by his schoolmates again.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He typically appears with Isen.
* TookALevelInBadass:
** During his Wellston years before the start of the series, Blyke's ability powered up from 3.6 to 4.5.
** Following his multiple losses to Joker, Blyke's been steadily practicing his Energy Beam in an effort to power up his ability, such as practicing his ability on his hand to increase the amount of finger beams he can create. By Season 2, he starts taking on vigilante missions to practice his ability against villains.
*** His vigilante mission in the Newside district results in Blyke's ability powering up to the point of allowing Blyke to release a discharge of energy that knocks back everyone around him.
*** By the end of his vigilante mission in the Grasshill district, Blyke's new stats are shown where he's now officially entered the realm of high-tier. His PowerLevel has gone up from 4.5 to 5.0, and his Energy Beam has upgraded to Energy Discharge. As a result of achieving high-tier, he also gains a passive ability where he seems to have [[HealingFactor quick self-regeneration]] to the point of cuts healing over night.
** By the end of Season 2 Part 2, Blyke's continued battle experience gave him a slight increase up to 5.1.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: He's usually seen with Isen and Remi.
** When the 3 of them spent some time at the mall, [[spoiler:they tried to confront the man at the Gauge Vendor after Remi discovers the tracker inside her teddy bear reward]].
** Along with Isen, Blyke joins in on supporting Remi on her superhero missions.
** Blyke also teams up with Remi and Isen to [[spoiler:investigate and unmask the Joker (John)]] that's been beating up the Royals at Wellston.
* UnexpectedSuccessor: Downplayed. While there are mentions that he is to be King eventually, [[spoiler:both Arlo and John's refusal of the position made it so that he became King earlier than anyone expected.]]
* VigilanteMan: Becomes one in Season 2. Blyke's not quite to the point of being considered a {{Superhero}} just yet (he doesn't even have a hero nickname), but he still goes out in disguise to bring to justice the high-tiers that have been abusing the low-tiers amongst the city districts. In the end, the people end up calling him as "[[InSeriesNickname Nobody]]" as a result of this being the answer that a disguised Blyke provided to a citizen asking who he was.
* WakeUpCall:
** His two losses to Wellston's Joker causes him to realize that he's too weak. Thus, he begins to train up his Energy Beam.
** His vigilante mission against Lennon served as this since it was Blyke's first attempt at taking on an elite-tier, which turned out to actually be a high-tier fight due to Lennon using the amplification drug. After the fight, Blyke turns down the superhero's offer to become partners since the fight with Lennon caused Blyke to realize that he might not be cut out for this, and decides to put aside his vigilantism for the time being.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: In chapter 196, Blyke comes across the criminal he's hunting for, realizes he's amped up and possibly out of his league, and could easily leave the low-tiers the criminal is fighting to their fates... But decides to fight the guy anyway.

----
An IntrepidReporter student of Wellston High that is often seen [[ThoseTwoGuys alongside]] Blyke, and is considered to be the 7th strongest amongst the school's top-10. He's tasked by Arlo to go about looking into John's past under the belief that the latter is hiding something. However, Isen's entire viewpoint of John changes the moment he discovers what the latter's been hiding. He tends to fall in line with those stronger than him due to his cowardly persona.
\
Despite his initial desire to stay out of trouble, Isen eventually joins in on becoming a superhero vigilante with Remi and Blyke given that they're his closest friends. Thus, he ends up helping them fight against EMBER.
----

* AttackItsWeakPoint: One part of his Hunter ability is that he's able to sense the weak points of his target's body, which show up as a target symbol from his point of view.
* BigDamnHeroes: He rescues Remi at the last second before Volcan lands the killing blow on her.
* BoundAndGagged: Was bound by Cecile when he was interrogated about what he found on John.
* CannotKeepASecret: He ''really'' enjoys bragging about his talents as an information gatherer, and is prone to sharing what he discovers even before he puts them in his articles. His big mouth nearly gets him in trouble when he almost reveals information Arlo asked for on a need-to-know basis. [[spoiler:The only known exception to his usually running mouth is secret information that terrifies him, in which case he stays quiet until someone stronger than him forces him to share his discoveries.]]
* ColorCodedCharacters: Orange
* CurbstompBattle: [[spoiler:Ends up on the receiving end of one from a black-masked John in chapter 126]].
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Orange-hair with orange-eyes.
* DistinctiveAppearances: Unlike most of the cast, he has dual hair, orange and black. He dyed parts of his hair black.
* FaceDoodling: He and Remi doodled Blyke's face before they went to a low-tier district.
* FatalFlaw: He's a huge coward. Particularly towards people who are stronger than him, such as Arlo and [[spoiler:John]], which Isen's only answer is to either be their loyal lapdog, or avoid them.
* FlippingTheBird: Directs one at Blyke when Isen gets angry at him.
* FreudianTrio: He is the Super Ego of the trio as he is the most logical and has the most common sense out of the three.
* HeroicBSOD: During Remi's superhero mission in the Lewes District, Isen starts to have a nervous breakdown when he realizes that the criminal he marked with his Hunter ability, Alana, suddenly stopped responding, which informs him that someone must have killed her. It's at this point that he realizes that he's gotten involved in something way darker than he can handle. He gets over it in the next chapter knowing that Remi is in danger against Volcan.
* IntrepidReporter: His curious nature, combined with the enhanced senses that his ability grants him, results in this.
* {{Jerkass}}: While not being an outright [[TheBully bully]] like many of the other students, the way he treats John when Isen pulls the fake interview about cripples on him was still really dickish, and shows that he treats people lower-tiered than him just as bad as anyone else at the school. It even reached a point where Isen decided to break John's wrist.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: His treatment of John during the fake interview makes it clear that Isen doesn't care about those lower tiered than himself, but that still doesn't change that he's good friends with Remi and Blyke.
* NiceMeanAndInbetween: Downplayed, Isen is the mean one as he is a bit pessimistic and less empathic than Remi and Blyke.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Turns out that treating John horribly when Isen pulled the fake interview stunt on him came back to bite Isen in the ass hard [[spoiler:when John decides to beat his ass in chapter 126. John even informs Arlo in chapter 132 that Isen treating him horribly during the interview is why he deserved the beatdown]].
* LivingLieDetector: His Hunter ability allows him to mark a person's heart in order to check if it's beating irregularly.
* NervousWreck: He ends up becoming this due to secrets he discovered amongst the school's top students.
** Upon discovering that [[spoiler:John is actually a powerful god-tier, Isen becomes incredibly nervous about his surroundings to make sure that John is left alone so that he can continue pretending to be a cripple rather than [[BullyingTheDragon piss John off]] to the point of him breaking, and going on a warpath against everyone that's been bullying him at Wellston High. Isen's fear of not wanting to set John off has resulted in him coming to the latter's defense several times, [[LockedOutOfTheLoop much to the confusion]] of Blyke and other students around him]].
** [[spoiler:Even after John beat him up in chapter 126, he still refuses to spill the beans when Remi and Blyke check up on him in the infirmary due to the fact that Arlo and John were watching him, and fearing what the two of them would do to him if he revealed the truth]].
* NonconformistDyedHair: He dyed the bottom of his hair black and does not want to be part of the Royals.
* OhCrap:
** When he gets caught by Doctor Darren for getting in a fight with Blyke.
** When he learns [[spoiler:John was expelled from New Bostin after beating up half his year]], he abandons the investigation.
** In chapter 148, he has this reaction when [[spoiler:Cecile captures him with her rope power through a wall thanks to John sensing Isen]].
* PowerLevel: 4.4 Elite-Tier.
** During his first year at Wellston, Isen was a 3.6 Elite-Tier.
** He's confirmed in late Season 2 Part 2 to have gone through a power increase up to 4.8.
* SecretSecretKeeper: [[spoiler:He discovers what John is truly capable of after investigating into his background, and learns that John actually has a god-tier power level. Isen decides from then on that pissing off John will not be good for everyone around him, which results in him bailing on the investigation. This being said, ''John'' doesn't know about it, leaving him angry and confused whenever Isen comes to his defense]].
* TheSmartGuy: He's proven himself to be one of the more intelligent students at Wellston High, especially since Isen has the knowledge to hack deep into the computer system to retrieve the information he's seeking. After investigating into John, [[spoiler:he's smart enough to know full well that John is not someone that will go along with the school's ranking system given how he beat up his former class at New Bostin. As a result, Isen knows that it's best to just let John remain as a guy pretending to be a cripple]].
* SmugSnake: Acts as such when he tries to investigate John about his past by pretending that he's doing a report about cripples.
* SuperStrength: His ability grants his enhanced strength in certain situations. During the mall chase, he was strong enough to stop a moving full-sized truck without much effort.
* TookALevelInBadass: During his Wellston years before the start of the series, Isen's ability powered up from 3.6 to 4.4.
** As a result of his battle experience taking part in Remi's vigilante missions, Isen's confirmed by late Season 2 Part 2 to have gone through a power increase from 4.4 to 4.8.
* ThoseTwoGuys: He typically appears with Blyke.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: He's usually seen with Remi and Blyke.
** When the 3 of them spent some time at the mall, [[spoiler:they tried to confront the man at the Gauge Vendor after Remi discovers the tracker inside her teddy bear reward]].
** Along with Blyke, Isen joins in on supporting Remi on her superhero missions.
** Isen also teams up with Remi and Blyke to [[spoiler:investigate and unmask the Joker (John)]] that's been beating up the Royals at Wellston. [[spoiler:Unbeknownst to them, Isen already knows, but he finally reveals the secret about John to Remi and Blyke in chapter 146]].
* UndyingLoyalty: Downplayed. While Arlo's info usually comes from Isen, Isen himself only does it out of fear and constantly trash-talks Arlo behind his back. [[spoiler:Nonetheless, when John starts to rampage, Isen still falls back on Arlo and hopes that he has a plan to control the situation]].
** Despite his fears, he tried to save his friends. [[spoiler:He successfully saved Remi from Volcan. Months later, he couldn't save Blyke from Fury, but luckily, Blyke is still alive.]]
* XRayVision: Isen's ability, Hunter, allows him to do this sometimes, such as sensing people through walls, or checking a man's heartbeat to see if they're lying or not.

* AlasPoorVillain: [[spoiler:Episode 272 shows Terrence reliving his trauma via Keon's ability. A fellow Spectre agent sneaks into his cell, not to help him escape but to dispose of him at the behest of Orrin, the one person he unconditionally trusted. Terrence drowns as a powerless, abandoned, and broken teen.]]
* AlmightyJanitor: He is assumed to be a typical mid-tier[[spoiler:, but he is an elite-tier who is high enough into Wellston's top 10.]]
* BatmanGambit: He uses his ability to sneak up on John and cause him to follow him, luring him to the Safe House, then letting John's curiosity do the rest of the work so he can join in on the field trip and have Spectre steal his ability.
* BullyingADragon: Does this to Seraphina ''while she still has her ability''. This comes to bite him back later.
* ChekhovsGunman: At first, he seems like a random background character getting beaten up by a stronger student. His role becomes much bigger later.
* CodeName: Known as Agent: Wellston by Spectre. Also, Terrence is implied to be a pseudonym.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: By the time Terrence finally started getting some noteworthy screentime in Season 2 Part 2 that started to delve into his character and past, [[spoiler:he ends up getting killed off]].
* DirtyCoward: In general, he is a huge coward who uses his ability to run away and sneak up on others. He will leave his supposed "friends" behind when they are trapped in a fight. [[spoiler:Though this is likely because he doesn't actually care about them.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: Terrence appears near the start of the series as the boy that Gavin was bullying before John stepped in to defend him.
* EvilAllAlong: [[spoiler:In Episode 205, he is revealed to be keeping tabs on Wellston's high rankers. He is later confirmed to be part of Spectre in a phone call.]]
* ExactEavesdropping: His invisibility superpower allows him to remain near people unnoticed in order to overhear what they're talking about.
* {{Foil}}: He is essentially an [[ShadowArchetype evil(er) version]] of John, both seem like normal students when introduced with normal names and grades while hiding their pasts and true abilities. Both were bullied for being weak and felt outcasted by society, causing them to turn to the dark side. However, while John eventually redeemed himself and started to turn over a new leaf (twice), Terrence ended up joining a conspiracy of terrorists and was killed before he could potentially redeem himself.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes:
** Roland dislikes Terrence because he cowered away when Evie was attacked by a masked student.
** Seraphina hates him because she knows his true evil nature and he frequently stalks her as part of his mission later on.
** In general, none of his friends seem to miss him after he no longer shows up for school, which is understandable since he hid his true identity from them and led an ambush.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He calls Seraphina and all high-tiers arrogant and "knowing better than the rest of society", when he helps enslave high-tiers into doing Spectre's bidding. [[spoiler:His hatred towards high-tiers is understandable though given his tragic backstory.]]
** [[spoiler:Ironically, the Episode where he loses his ability reveals that he himself was an elite-tier, and he's proven himself every bit as arrogant and haughty.]]
* IntrepidReporter: Works as a reporter by going out and searching for information that can be put in his articles for the school newspaper.
* {{Invisibility}}: With his ability, he can turn himself and other people invisible.
* TheMole: Doesn't care about his life at Wellston one bit. Terrence just goes about his role as a Wellston student while researching potential high-tiers that will be useful to Spectre.
* TheNicknamer: He labels John as the "[[RedBaron Shadow King]]" after discovering what he's truly capable of.
* OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent: He initially appears to be this: he has the most normal name; he's one of the few characters with normal hair and eye colors; and his personality, grades, and level are all average.
* OutOfFocus: In Season 1 Part 1, Arlo catches on that someone has been eavesdropping on his private conversations at Wellston, and by Episode 65, he intimidates Cecile into giving up Terrence's name. However, this plotline ends up fading into the background as if it was completely forgotten about as nothing major happens with Terrence until around Episode 205 of Season 2 Part 1.
* PowerLevel: 4.4 Elite-Tier.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: When Seraphina corners him and gives him one chance to explain why he disabled John he says this:
-->Did you really think Spectre would treat you as an ally? You high-tiers are all the same. Unreliable. Disloyal. Arrogant. You all think you know so much better than the rest of us. That's why you need to be put on a leash and restrained.
* SecretIdentity: His stat block in Episode 264 reveals that "Terrence" is a false name.
* SecretKeeper: Due to snooping around with his {{Invisibility}} skill, it's very easy for Terrence to pick up on secrets amongst his fellow students.
** [[spoiler:He learns about what John is truly capable of after spying on the conversation between Arlo and Elaine. Terrence overhears from Elaine that John won a fight against Arlo, Ventus, and Meili, which Terrence puts in a school news report for Cecile to see]].
* ShadowArchetype: See Foil.
* SmugSmiler: Gives one to Seraphina in episode 246.
* SnoopingLittleKid: While remaining invisible, Terrence snoops around school, and follows around others outside of school, as his way of gathering up information for the school newspaper. [[spoiler:Terrence was the anonymous reporter that spied on the Kovoro Mall fight that involved Remi, Blyke, and Isen. He is later shown in his room, keeping tabs on all of the high-rankers, Zeke and above.]]
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: With Evie and Roland. Changed when Sera then Dylan joined their party.
* UndyingLoyalty: [[spoiler:Towards Orrin (and Spectre as a whole) who recruited him as a child, even though Orrin kills him at the end.]]
* VisibleInvisibility: The author sometimes portrays Terrence as this in order to show the readers when his Invisibility power is active.
* WalkingSpoiler: A lot of his story centers around him being an agent of Spectre who's been enrolled into Wellston to spy on its high-tiers for potential recruits for the organization.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: [[spoiler:Episode 272 shows a fellow Spectre agent sneaking into Terrence's cell, not to help him escape but to dispose of him at Orrin's command.]]

\
As the series moves along, it becomes quite clear that he's one of the biggest [[{{Jerkass}} jerkasses]] amongst Wellston's high-tiers. He eventually becomes a member of the authorities.
----
* AintTooProudToBeg: [[spoiler:After John demonstrates just how thoroughly he outclasses him, Zeke begs him not to hurt him any further. John demands that he get on his hands and knees while he begs, which Zeke does]].
* AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: Believed to be one of the stronger students, Zeke goes around acting as the "King" of Wellston's boy dorm. When John first arrives at the boy's dorm, Zeke beats him up in an attempt to put the cripple in his place.
* BerserkButton: He doesn't take kindly to John sarcastically calling him King, which causes Zeke to realize that John isn't taking his rule over the dorm seriously, or when John starts [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech calling him out]] for being such an insecure student that will never amount to anything because he goes around acting like the dorm King just to beat up on low-tiers.
* TheBully: Decides to attack John after the latter is forced by the Headmaster to become part of Wellston's boy dorm.
* BullyingADragon: [[spoiler: After word gets out that John is Joker, Zeke, refusing to believe it, goes after John to publically beat him up and disprove the rumors. It's at this point that John finally decides to reveal his ability. Cue CurbStompBattle]].
* ButtMonkey: [[spoiler: After he becomes the new King of Wellston, John uses Zeke as his errand boy/punching bag. And any time John's orders cause him to come across any of the other high-tier students, it ends very poorly for Zeke]].
* ColorCodedCharacters: Sky Blue.

* GangOfBullies: He has his own group of lackeys that bully weaklings at Wellston. Some of his lackeys include Mardin and Julien.
* GreenEyedMonster: Is shown to be this whenever Arlo gets a spotlight for missions from the Authorities.
* HateSink: A relatively minor example, but he's notable for having basically no redeeming qualities whatsoever among the high-tier students. He's not particularly well-liked by anybody in the cast, either because he's directly attacked them (John) or because he's emblematic of the worst problems with higher tiers (Blyke).
* {{Jerkass}}: Like many of the school bullies, Zeke bullies the weak. He's introduced attacking John for being a cripple claiming that it's his way of "welcoming" the latter to the boy's dorm. As the series moves along, it becomes quite clear that he's easily one of the worst amongst Wellston's high-tier students in regards to being an asshole to the point of becoming a HateSink amongst the readers.
* TheLeader: Claims he's the "King" of the boy's dorm. He's also the leader of his own Wellston bully gang, such as Mardin and Julien being his lackeys.
* OhCrap: In chapter 187, [[spoiler: he's horrified when he picks a fight with John to prove that John isn't Joker, only for it to turn out that the rumors were true]].
* OpportunisticBastard: The second he realizes John is powerful, he changes his plan and alliances.
* PowerLevel: 4.2 Elite-tier.
* ProfessionalButtKisser: In Season 2, Zeke resorts to this tactic trying multiple times to suck up to [[spoiler:John after the latter humiliated the former in front of everyone shorter after John took over as Wellston's King. Eventually, John decides to go along with it, which results in Zeke becoming the primary subordinate of John's new leadership]].
* SmugSnake: [[spoiler: After throwing his lot in with John after he becomes Wellston's new King, Zeke assumes nobody will try to stop him from carrying out the new king's orders and earn John's wrath. Sera, Blyke, and Remi are all too happy to prove him wrong]].
* SmugSmiler: Always shown with a smug smile since he thinks he's better than John knowing that the latter is a cripple.
* TheSociopath: Only displays interest in increasing his own power, lies to and manipulates everyone including John, and does not understand it when the other elite students start trying to improve the school.
* StoneWall: His Phase Shift superpower when he's defending. He uses his ability to try to endure incoming attacks from his enemies.
* SuperStrength: His Phase Shift ability when he's attacking. He appears to strengthen his punches to a certain point, such as being able to break John's arm.
* VillainTeamUp: In chapter 192, [[spoiler:he starts sucking up to John upon realizing his true power. John only accepts after seeing a safe house flier]].
* WouldHitAGirl: Had no problem attacking a cripple Seraphina with his bare hands, twice actually. It is also implied he may have beaten Cecile.

----
* ColorCodedCharacters: Greenish Teal
* BitchInSheepsClothing: Has a tendency to act nice to people, but if Elaine finds out that they have a weak ability, she'll treat them like garbage, either disparaging them or refusing to heal them.
* BreakTheHaughty: [[spoiler:Once she finds out what John is truly capable of, Elaine becomes entirely scared of him, and starts to question the things going on around her, such as Arlo looking uncharacteristically out-of-sorts]].
* CharacterDevelopment: A mild case, but she grows tired of being treated as everyone's on-demand-medic and decides to focus on her grades and friend group rather then trying to impress the elite and high tiers. Where this will lead to remains to be seen. Interestingly, this probably would not have been possible if not for the other developments at wellstone allowing someone like her to even speak up to higher tiers like Arlo and John.
* DemotedToExtra: Elaine got a lot of screentime in the first half of Season 1 to the point that she was basically one of the main supporting characters. Ever since the attack on John's house however, her role's been relatively minor.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Her introduction shows her BitchInSheepsClothing persona towards those that are beneath her on the power tier.
* HealingHands: Elaine can heal moderate and serious wounds in a matter of seconds.
* {{Jerkass}}: When John first joins the class, she is initially amicable. As soon as she finds out that that John has no ability, her personality does a complete 180 and she reacts with complete disgust from having "wasted her time talking to him."
* LuminescentBlush:

* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: She is the girly girl to Seraphina's tomboy.
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Her discovery of the ''[=UnOrdinary=]'' book that Seraphina got from John led to Sera getting suspended from school for a month, which led to the [[TheBully school bullying]] on John to become a lot worse than it already was, [[spoiler:and caused him to finally start using his god-tier powers on others]].

* TheBully: John comes across Gavin at the start of the series beating up a low tier. Gavin then turns his attention onto John when the latter gets in the way of his bullying. After John successfully throws him out a window, Gavin decides to put his attention squarely on bullying the former.

* StarterVillain: While it's implied that John may have already been getting bullied beforehand, Gavin is the first student seen in the series that John faces off against.

* CombatClairvoyance: Similar to [[Characters/BungoStrayDogsPortMafia Odasaku]]. Her power allows her to see the most near future (implied to be a similar duration as his, 5-6 seconds) to see the direct outcome of actions.

* PowerLevel: 2.5 Mid-tier.
* NoNameGiven: It takes quite awhile for Juni's name to finally be revealed (until chapter 112). Most readers just called her "Hair-bun Girl" at first due to her unique odango hair.
* ThePlan: Cecile rejects her article about Sera due to Arlo breathing down Cecile's neck to keep quiet about the odd happenings going on with Sera and John. As a result, she decides to put her Sera article up on a board in the school hallway for everyone to see that [[spoiler:Sera is now powerless]].
* SecretKeeper: Juni knows for a fact that [[spoiler:Sera is now powerless, and goes about trying to inform everyone in the school about it. The plan works right away as Krolik, Crail, and Skrev are amongst the first students to outright attack Sera under the belief that she's now a cripple]].
* {{Seers}}: Juni's Flash Forward ability allows her to see glimpses of the near future in order to know what path to take.

** Due to what may be a weak power or persona, Evie's usually seen being bullied by her fellow schoolmates, and is unable to do anything about it.
** Evie makes it clear to Arlo that low-tiers such as her are usually bullied by the mid-tiers, and that the bullying's been going on for so long that they eventually got used to it.
* FaceYourFears: Due to being a weak Low-tier, she's scared of facing the Mid-tiers who've been bullying her. This finally starts to change in chapter 140 when she supports Sera in stopping Clio from bullying a fellow Low-tier, Roland.
* {{Fangirl}}: Whether it be Elaine, Sera, or King Arlo, Evie appears to show nervous fangirl reactions towards the higher-tiered students of the school.
* GirlishPigtails: Her hair-style is tied up in two side pigtails.
* GutFeeling: She gets bad vibes from John due to the way he ignores Evie, and looks at her condescendingly as if John's better than her and Roland despite being a cripple.
* LightEmUp: Evie's "Illumination" allows her to emit bright light from her hands.
* LuminescentBlush: As a part of her [[{{Fangirl}} fangirling]], she's usually seen blushing towards the high-tiered students that she shows respect for, such as Sera, Elaine, and Arlo.
* NervousWreck: Due to her Low-tier status, Evie tells Sera in chapter 134 that she's too much of a nervous wreck to actually stand up to the people that have been bullying her.
* NiceGirl: Compared to a vast majority of the known Wellston High students, Evie hasn't done anything horrible. As a result, she's viewed as too weak-willed, and usually gets picked on. She's even quite thankful to Sera after she scares off Hower from continuing to bully her, and is even the one that comes forward to help Arlo's group [[spoiler:search for a kidnapped Sera]]. She's also a genuine friend to Roland, a fellow weak Wellston student.
