! Team Neo

->"Stay Neo!"

Originally a duo of Pokémon Trainers, Chloe and Hop, who dub themselves as "Team Neo" and are starting their paths to become official Cyber Warriors. They are later joined by Alain to become a trio.

* AdaptationalProtagonist: Chloe and Hop are the main protagonists of the storie, whereas in Journeys, Chloe is functionally a Tritagonist and Hop is minor character who only appeared in the final arc of the show.
* AlliterativeName: All three members follow alliteration: Chloe Cerise (and her alias, Colette Cadieux), Hop Hosta, and Alain Astrantia.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Make no mistake, Chloe and Hop are very sweet and friendly characters but they are not pushovers, and will retaliate if they see any signs of injustice.
* CompositeCharacter: Author notes reveal that Chloe and Hop both have traits of Miko Kubota and Hector "Five" Nieves.
** Chloe: She's an energetic long-haired female gamer implied to have a special ability (Miko is immune to memory erasure -- although it's ambiguous as to whether or not it's a natural immunity or whether it was due to her falling unconscious before the erasure kicked in -- whereas Chloe has a vague sixth sense that may or may not be connected to the serpent tattoo on her shoulder) whose little sibling becomes a SecretKeeper (Lexi for Miko, Parker for Chloe). The fact that she has feelings for Hop also gives her traits of Zahra, who secretly crushes on Five.
** Hop: The taller dark-blue/purple haired boy who is working to get out of his shell and gain confidence in himself. Moreover, both of their names start with "H".
* DualityMotif: The names of their weapons play about a dual nature: Descendant's Shadow (a dark copy of one's self caused when light strikes them), Twilight's Successor (Twilight is the moment between daylight and darkness) and Mirror's Rebirth (mirrors can cast a reflection). The weapons themselves also play with this motif: Chloe's weapon is both a rapier and a pistol, Hop uses two daggers that are usually disguised as a pair of chopsticks, and Alain's weapon is a broadsword, which is traditionally a two-handed sword.
* FatalFlaw: Impatience. Chloe and Hop are eager to jump into the fray and get stronger so that they can face all challenges and adventures, and get somewhat disappointed when they don't get them right away. Professor Oak and Birch have to remind them that they're still young and they need time to truly develop.
** Hop's flaw is his self-doubt. He feels like he will never be able to get out of his brother's shadow, and it was a loss to Bede that made him start questioning if he's capable of being a strong trainer. Even as a Cyber Warrior, his dreams of wanting to make a Cyber Tool gets shot down by Gunning's Court.
* FighterMageThief:
** Alain is the Fighter, being the eldest and most experienced Cyber Warrior (at Rank 3) and his weapon is a broadsword which he uses to deflect all attacks, not to mention that he first appears with a Chesnaught, which is based off a knight and is Fighting-type.
** Chloe is the Mage, as her Cyber Tool allows her the use of telekinesis and is a gun that used elemental-enhanced bullets, with its normal pen form like that of a magic wand. Her main Pokémon, Eevee, learns a variety of moves that can be compared to Black and White magic.
** Hop is the Thief, as his weapons are a pair of daggers and he can attack in blinding speeds.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Alain and Hop's Cyber Tools and Pokémon are all about attacking in the front line. Chloe has two ranged-type weapons (her rapier-pistol Cyber Tool and a boomerang) while her Pokémon can zigzag between front-line and back-line attacks.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: The three have a close bond, despite having a bit of difference in age: Chloe is 10, Hop is 14 and Alain is presumably in his early twenties.
* MeaningfulName: "Neo" means "new", reflecting Hop and Chloe's status as the newest Cyber Warriors on [=ReFusion=]. Neo also has three letters, which reflect the three Cyber Warriors that make up the team (Chloe, Hop and later, Alain).
* PlatonicBoyGirlHeroes: The author notes reveal that Chloe and Hop as a couple is not endgame, with Hop remaining single at the end, and their relationship is something akin to Five and Miko's.
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: Chloe and Hop wanted to be Cyber Warriors but Gunning's Court, and Aric and Elia attacking Chloe on flimsy excuses without hearing her out had them storm off and deciding to be better in their own way...which the commissioner was counting on. He officially makes them Cyber Warriors since they would rather keep their integrity than become insensitive jerks who wanted to be Cyber Warriors for the perks.
* ThemeNaming: The weapons they wield are all named after a term for a person emulating another. There's Descendants Shadow (a person born from the same family line), Twilight's Successor (someone who succeeds another) and Mirror's Rebirth (someone who is reborn again literally or metaphorically).
* WeaponBasedCharacterization: All three of them use bladed weapons with a different meaning behind each.
** Chloe's main weapon is a rapier-pistol. The rapier is fast and has good reach, which helps Chloe get in a good hit without having to be too close since she's the most inexperienced of the three.
** Hop uses twin daggers and has a speedy attack style that lets him zoom in and then get a few strikes in while evading others.
** Alain uses a broadsword which is known for powerful strikes and highlights his heroic nature and experience as a Cyber Warrior.

Daughter of Professor Cerise and a normal girl with a normal life until she picked up a pen and followed a ghostly girl into a train and ends up becoming a Cyber Warrior. She also goes under an alias: Colette Cadieux.

!!In General
----
* BadassAdorable: All of her Pokémon are cute in their own way, but they all pack powerful punches.
* CanonForeigner: Everyone not named Yamper or Eevee fall under this list and even then, Yamper was never considered Chloe's Pokémon in the anime.
* CurbStompCushion: Eevee and Squirtle fought off against Team Rocket's Exploud and Alakazam but then were squashed by their Drednaw due to exhaustion and typing.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: Chloe's initial four Pokémon aren't given names, but starting with her four Grass-types, she starts nicknaming them.

!!Yamper
The Cerise family pet originally from the Galar region who has a fondness for Chloe.
----
* AngryGuardDog: An adorable corgi who will aggressively attack anyone who hurts Chloe.
* BigBrotherInstinct: Acts as the big brother towards the younger Eevee as it was his decision to bring them to Chloe's school that kickstarts the plot.
* CanineCompanion: While initially her father's companion, after obtaining Eevee and becoming a Cyber Warrior, Chloe brings Yamper out on research expeditions.
* DishingOutDirt: Learns Dig during a training fight Eevee and Squirtle.
* ManBitesMan: One of his moves is Thunder Fang, which lets him bite an opponent and shock them at the same time.
* PreciousPuppy: Is identified as the Puppy Pokémon and modeled after corgis.
* ShockAndAwe: An Electric-type Pokémon with moves like Spark, Thunderbolt and Thunder Fang.

!!Eevee
An Eevee from a Eeveelution lab who is unable to evolve. A chance encounter with Chloe's Yamper connects her fate with Chloe's.
----
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: While she was energetic, curious and playful in the anime, in the fanfic she's ready to get into a fight at a moment's notice due to her experience on [=ReFusion=].
* CompositeCharacter:
** She had traits of the Let's Go, Eevee! partner Eevee due to her inability to evolve, but Chloe asks Blake Oak to give her the ability to use the Partner Moves.
** She has a fondness for dancing like Serena's Sylveon.
* DanceBattler: Due to being inspired by Chloe playing Bust-a-Groove, she's become fond of dance-fighting and keeps a rhythm while fighting Team Rocket's Pelipper. Ash even compares a technique Eevee is using, hoping to avoid Breloom's punches before backflipping, to a similar incident with some Bellossom.
* DiscardAndDraw: While she can use the Partner Moves as long as she's wearing a special brooch, Blake advises Chloe that Eevee should only use three at a time.
* DistaffCounterpart: To Ash's Pikachu as a starter-type who chooses not to evolve, with one of their moves being Iron Tail, and they have unique powers solely for them -- Pikachu has a Z-Move and Eevee has her Partner Moves.
* DramaPreservingHandicap: With the Eevee Partner Moves, it'd be a snap for her to get rid of any obstacles. To prevent this from being too overpowered, the moves are specifically kept in a brooch, and Chloe can only use three at a time. Plus, Chloe has chosen not to reveal them out in the open for fear of people questioning how Eevee got her moves.
* ExtraOredinary: She knows Iron Tail, which becomes her signature attack outside Copycat.
* NonElemental: She's a Normal-type.
* TheRedMage: Blake gives this analogy to Chloe when she asks him to make the Let's Go Partner Moves in that Eevee is basically learning a variety of black and white magic but doesn't really excel in high-powered moves. Chloe even imagines Eevee wearing the traditional Red Mage garb and wielding a staff in her mouth.
* PinkIsFeminine: She's female due to the heart-shaped tip of her tail, and she gets to wear a bright pink scarf.
* PowersAsPrograms: The Partner Moves are programmed into a brooch Eevee wears in her pink scarf which Chloe can choose which ones Eevee can use through her Card Scanner.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: She gets to wear a nice pink scarf when she wants to really kick ass. The trope is invoked because there's a special brooch pinned to it that allows her to use the Partner moves.
* WeakButSkilled: She doesn't have the ability to evolve -- whether due to uncertainty of who she wants to evolve to or she just can't -- but she has a variety of STAB moves that she can use to make up for this.

!!Squirtle
A Kantonian Water-type starter that Chloe picked up from Professor Oak's lab.
----
* BubbleGun: He has Bubblebeam.
* CompositeCharacter: He has the stoic nature of Ash's Squirtle, yet he can use Bubblebeam like May's to help with Chloe's messy hair ala Dawn's Piplup.
* FireForgedFriends: Pun unintended, given his use for Weather Ball. He refused to be Chloe's starter until he sees her using her limited telekinesis to stop a tree from squishing a Caterpie and after Chloe apologizes for trying to be the "perfect" partner for him, saying that she wants to develop herself alongside him instead.
* FireWaterJuxtaposition: Weather Ball's typing depends on the weather. While he normally uses it on sunny days, he also knows Rain Dance.
* KamehameHadoken: His Energy Ball is treated like this, being an energy attack based on the weather.
* MakingASplash: He's the Kanto Water Starter.
* MundaneUtility: Turns out bubbles are really good for messy hair.
* PlayingWithFire: When he uses Weather Ball on a sunny day, he basically has a giant fireball of death ready for the opponent.
* RainDance: One of his moves, which he uses in conjunction with Weather Ball.
* TurnsRed: His ability is Torrent, boosting his Water-type moves when at low health.
* WeatherManipulation: Squirtle's capable of using Weather Ball in sunny and rainy weather thanks to knowing Rain Dance.

!!Milcery -> Alcremie
After failing to catch a Pokemon in the Wild Area, Chloe flicks a Poke ball and catches Milcery before spinning her around in complete joy of spending time with Hop.
----
* AchievementsInIgnorance: How Chloe caught her, basically. She flicked a Poké ball just as a Milcery floats by, then she spins her at just the right time at night to make her a Lemon Cream Alcremie.
* CurbStompCushion: She doesn't defeat Juliana's Fuecoco, but she does manage to get him to the point that he has to use his Blaze ability.
* ImportantHairAccessory: Her purple ribbons, based on the ribbon Sweet that Chloe chose for her.
* MindOverMatter: She knows Psychic.
* MundaneUtility: Alcremie's lemon cream becomes useful for Talia, who has trouble figuring out what to cook for dinner, especially since lemon cream is used both for sweet and savory dishes. Scarlet Heists would reveal that she and Alcremie have a side-job due to this.
* OneGenderRace: All Alcremie are female.
* OurFairiesAreDifferent: A Fairy-type Pokémon that looks like a whipped-cream humanoid.
* PalmOnCheekPose: She usually places her hands on her cheeks while blushing.
* UncattyResemblance: Not of Chloe, but of Hop. Chloe relates Alcremie's yellow body and purple bows and eyes like Hop's eyes and hair.

!!Grass Quartet
Four Grass-types (Cottonee, Cherubi, Skiddo, and Breloom) Chloe caught on her trip to Laxton's Farm.
-----
* BareFistedMonk: Breloom is a Fighting-type.
* EdibleThemeNaming: Chloe calls her Breloom "Cremini" (a type of mushroom), her Skiddo is Chèvre (a cheese made out of goat milk), and Cottonee is "Cloud Ear" (after the Cloud Ear Fungus). Cherubi also fits the pattern since they're named after a cherry.
* GreenThumb: All four Pokémon are Grass-types with moves like Bullet Seed, Seed Bomb, Energy Ball, and Solar Beam.
* LetterMotif: "C" -- Not counting Cherubi, the nicknames of Chloe's Grass-types start with the letter "C" -- Cremini, Chèvre, and Cloud Ear (a Cottonee).
* MeaningfulName:
** Skiddo is named Chèvre since Chèvre is a cheese made from goat milk, and Skiddo are based off goats.
** Breloom is "Cremini", a mushroom used for cooking.
** Cottonee is named "Cloud Ear" because of the similarities to the cloud ear fungus and also because Cottonee looks like a fluffy cloud with two little leaf "ears".
* PowerUpMount: Skiddo acts like this for Chloe once she learns how to ride them.

A trainer from Postwick Town and younger brother of Leon. An unexpected incident with his Wooloo nearly attacking Chloe somehow leads to a friendship and partnership across the Data Trains and Rune Masqeruade. His Cyber Tool is Twilight's Successor, a pair of daggers that take the form of glowing chopsticks that gives him quick bursts of speed to knock the opponent off their feet.
----
* CelibateHero: Author notes reveal that he's not getting a romantic partner and he and Chloe will not be endgame.
* CompositeCharacter: He hopes to become a weapon smith and do research on Cyber Tools, making him similar to that of the Pokémon Adventures protagonist Henry Sword.
* DeclarationOfProtection: When Aric and Elia accuse Chloe of being a thief for stealing Descendant's Shadow, Hop immediately jumps to protect her and vows to stall for time while Chloe calls the Commissioner.
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: He's struggling to find a goal for himself that's not connected to him to be just like his older brother, Leon. After saving Chloe from memory erasure, he wants to be a Cyber Warrior to help others, and to uncover the secrets of Cyber Tools, particularly becoming curious to the legendary creator, Blake Nova. Pokémon-wise, he hopes to create a bond between Cyber Warriors and Pokémon.
* DualWielding: His weapons are a pair of daggers called "Twilight's Successor".
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Appears when Chloe finds herself lost and confused over where she is, being her guide and inviting her to eat. He then stands up to protect her, both by taking the blame for why she has a Cyber Tool out in the open and defending her when Aric and Elia spit out accusations, and would rather give up being a Cyber Warrior when he sees Chloe mocked at. While he wants to be special or try to get out of his brother's shadow, he'll give it up for what's right.
* Expy: Achi and Patra compare him to Casey Rhodes/Jungle Fury Red Ranger, as he's a nervous and insecure beginner who is thrust into a role he's unsure of, yet also has compassion, bravery, and heart.
* FlowerMotifs: Hosta flowers mean "friendship and devotion", representing his bond with Chloe and how he'd give up his chance to be a Cyber Warrior by standing up for her.
* FriendOrIdolDecision: Stuck between getting a chance of a lifetime playing games and fighting viruses and seeing Chloe being laughed at, Hop tosses his daggers in disgust and decides to leave with Chloe. This turned out to be the best decision as the Commissioner tested if they only wanted to be Cyber Warrior for the perks, not the responsibilities.
* InSeriesNickname: Gunning's Court, along with Elia, constantly calls him "Hoppy". Kixx calls him "Little".
* MirrorCharacter:
** To Goh. He's a dark skinned boy whose starter is a mostly white Galarian Pokémon (Wooloo for Hop, Scorbunny for Goh) but opens up to Chloe in the span of a few minutes, whereas Goh and Chloe barely interact with one another even though they've been friends for years. Hop wants to become a master blacksmith and be able to help others with their problems, while Goh works on his goal to catch Mew in the palm of his hand.
** He's a mirror to Ash. Experience in being a Trainer aside, Hop immediately befriends Chloe by talking to her, whereas Ash's first meeting with Chloe left a bad impression of him being electrocuted by Yamper and it takes a much longer time before Chloe warms up to him. Ash hopes to fight Leon, whereas Hop wants to be as good as his brother. Ash is advancing in the World Coronation Series, while Hop has floundered. Ash is shown to be respected by Trainers he meets, while Hop is teased by Gunning's Court.
* MundaneUtility: Hop jokes that his Cyber Tool's base form is great for when he wants to eat.
* NiceGuy: A sweet and friendly boy who introduces Chloe to a whole new world and would give up his own attempt to have the adventure of a lifetime solely because she wasn't getting it.
* OneHeadTaller: He stands taller than Chloe; justified in that he's in his teens and Chloe is 10.
* PositiveFriendInfluence: Chloe had little to no friends at all at school, and she and Goh were distant since Goh spent a lot of time with Ash on research expeditions. The reason Chloe clings so strongly onto him is because he was the one who gave him so much kindness and offered to be her guide on the Train. It's also thanks to him that she starts moving forward and finding her goal in life and can pick herself up after her Galar trip didn't go out like she planned.
* RageBreakingPoint: When Gunning and his group laugh at Chloe's claims of a girl in a purple dress dropping the pen that would become Descendant's Shadow, and leading her to the train and Chloe is completely ashamed at opening her mouth, Hop punches Gunning in the jaw and chews him out for the hypocrisy of being Super Sentai fans yet not giving Chloe benefit of the doubt.
* RealMenWearPink: When he's seen in Arcanum Univesre: Scarlet Heists, he's embarrassed to reveal that his Yu-Gi-Oh! deck is Melffys...which are adorable pastel colored animals.
* VerbalTic: His Data Partner, Watson, has a cute one-ske!

!!Wooloo

Hop's starter Pokemon, who brings Chloe and Hop together.
-----
* CrashIntoHello: Wooloo nearly rolling into Chloe is how she and Hop became friends.
* MythologyGag: He wears a friendship bracelet on his leg, like in WebAnimation/PokemonTwilightWings.
* NonElemental: A Normal-type Pokémon.
* StarterMon: Hop's first Pokémon partner.
* SweetSheep: He's an adorable fluffy sheep.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Apples, particularly if they are used in apple curries.

!!Bulbasaur

The Kanto Grass-starter, whom Hop picked up from Professor Oak's lab.
----
* CanonForeigner: Hop never had a Bulbasaur in the games.
* GreenThumb: It's a Grass-type and is shown using Vine Whip.
* PoisonousPerson: It's secondary-type is Poison.

!!Rookidee
----
* BlowYouAway: Part of being a Flying-type.
* TokenFlyer: As the only one in Hop's party who is a Flying-type.

!!Alain Astrantia
A former participant of the Kalos League and a Rank 3 Cyber Warrior who first appears saving Chloe from Team Rocket. His Cyber Tool is a large broadsword, Mirror's Rebirth.
----
* AdaptationalPersonalityChange: Alain in the canon anime was mostly aloof and serious. In Descendant's Shadow, he's much more relaxed and has more goofball traits.
* AttackReflector: His sword, Mirror's Rebirth, has the ability to reflect attacks. Chloe compares it to the Counter move.
* BigDamnHeroes: Saves Chloe by having his Chesnaught block an attack from Team Rocket's Drednaw.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Has black hair and a black outfit, but he's compared to a knight in shining armor.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: First seen silently observing Chloe before coming to her rescue against Team Rocket, representing him ready to come to other people's rescue. His second moment is how he heavily denies that he's a huge [=LoliRock=] fan, as it depicts him to be dorky and into girly hobbies.
* FlowerMotifs: Astrantia flowers are about inner strength and resilience, which reflects his standing as a Rank 3 Cyber Warrior who can weather the storm despite not being on a Data Train.
* GreenThumb: His Chesnaught is a Grass-type.
* HeroesPreferSwords: His Cyber Tool is a boxcutter that turns into a broadsword.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He's a Rank 3 Cyber Warrior and has had his share of adventures.
* InSeriesNickname: His teacher calls him "Mr. Serious".
* IWorkAlone: Subverted; while he does go solo, he's not aloof about it and actually would like it if he became part of Team Neo in the future (which he does if Orchid Observer is to go by).
* KnightInShiningArmor: Fits this trope, with his blue-white Cyber Warrior armor, his sword and his Chesnaught invoking a knight.
* LivingLegend: He's a well-known Cyber Warrior to the point that Aric comments how any Data Train would be willing to welcome him if he should return.
* NoodleIncident:
** He's derailed -- a term for a Cyber Warrior not connected to a Data Train -- due to a monster attack.
** In Orchid Observer, he mentions having to endure five minutes of Chespie's Pin Missile when he told Mairin that he was off on a mission.
* RealMenWearPink: He's a cool, badass, black-wearing trainer...and he's a huge fan of Lolirock, secretly squeeing at the selfie he took of him, Chloe, and Hop with the trio.
* SixthRanger: By the time Orchid Observer is in swing, he's officially a member of Team Neo.
* SuspiciouslySpecificDenial: As he tells his teacher, he did not go to the Lolirock concert in Vermillion City solely so he can get their autograph. That'd be absurd.
* VirtuousCharacterCopy: If Chloe and Hop are akin to Miko and Five, then he would be their Mitch Williams. Mitch was the toughest and baddest Glitch Tech in his division, but that mostly came from him kill-stealing and hogging EXP from his own teammates and had strategies that mostly based on making sure he got the spotlight. From what is known about Alain, he's one of the best Cyber Warriors period, and he's capable of working with Chloe and Hop. While Mitch was quick to call Miko and Hector "noobs" and have a dislike for them (mostly from how they were better than him and had to save his ass when he didn't return a virus from an earlier job), Alain is quick to support Chloe and Hop when they're both struggling. Mitch works alone due to his fears of being a Glitch Tech while his older siblings were focused on their gaming to pay attention, while Alain works alone out of an unexplained incident.
* WillfullyWeak: Most Cyber Warriors have a Data Train to fall back on for rest and supplies. Alain doesn't have that luxury ever since he was derailed, so he has to make due with what he gets. It's stated he can always join under a different Data Train if he wants to, but he's refused it for the time being. Judging by how he's willing to fight against Praxina with nothing but his Cyber Tool, he doesn't really need back up.

!Allies

A spirit that resides in Chloe's Cyber Tool, made from the essence of Wakana Himika's personal items fused together.
----
* TheChooserOfTheOne: She was the one who kept observing Chloe in the hopes that she'd be the one to use the Descendant's Shadow Cyber Tool.
* ElegantGothicLolita: She's described as a girl with black hair, an elegant purple and black dress and matching hat.
* EveryoneHasStandards: While she has a low opinion on Bray and Cara, she thinks that Chloe's anger on her whipped cream being stolen by Bray is a bit overkill.
* GracefulLadiesLikePurple: She's a doll-like spirit wearing a purple/black dress.
* InvisibleToNormals: She can't be seen or heard by anyone except Chloe, Hop, and later Parker.
* LittleMissSnarker: She has little esteem for Bray Zen and Cara Less -- not helping when the former nearly crushed Chloe without apologizing -- and gives snarky quips on the side.
* MeaningfulName: She's named after a hamsa hand -- a symbol that's said to protect the wearer from evil. Chloe names her this after Talia gifts her a hamsa hand pendant and notes that it was due to Hamsa appearing at the Bust-a-Groove cabinet machine that everyone was able to stop the virus from spreading.
* SpiritAdvisor: Essentially acts as one for Chloe who nudges her to take charge instead of being paralyzed with fear.
* Youkai: Downplayed in that she's not one, but Chloe makes a reference to her being based on a tsukumogami, a type of youkai that can only manifest if an item has lived to be a hundred. The commissioner also notes that Descendant's Shadow was created using personal items from Wakana Himika herself.
* VagueAge: She's around Parker's age but the weapon itself was created from artifacts more than a hundred years old. It's also unknown just how long it's been since Descendant's Shadow was created.

A mysterious cloaked figure whom saved Team Neo from Praxina.
----
* BigDamnHeroes: Arrives just as Praxina is about to send Team Neo into the Netherworld.
* BrilliantButLazy: Powerful enough to stop Praxina's attack, lazy enough to not even want to give direct praise but will just give it via email.
* CatchAndReturn: Praxina fires a dark blast of magic at their face. They catch it, magnifies it, then throws it back at her face while looking amused more than anything else.
* CompositeCharacter: Author notes reveal that they're based on Hunter/The Golden Guard and The Collector. The latter comes from them wearing a hooded pajama with a celestial motif and overwhelms a dark magic user like they're playing a game. The former comes from their affable personality and their farewell (Hunter is well known for his "Bye~!" whereas Shroud goes "Cheers!")
* CurbStompBattle: Gives one to Praxina by throwing her magic attack right back at her.
* DistinguishingMark: They have a crescent moon mark under their right eye.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: Arrives to save Chloe from Praxina's attack and then literally wipes the floor with her by expanding her magical attack and then tossing it back at her. Then they can't even bother with a congratulatory speech, judging by the cue cards that fall from their sleeves and then they mutter about just sending them an email, before cheerfully saying goodbye.
* InTheHood: Their name is derived from the dark blue cloak they wear.

Chloe's boss who keeps an eye on all Data Trains and the Cyber Warriors who run them.
----
* GoodWearsWhite: He wears an all white attire and is essentially the closest to a BigGood in the story.
* NoNameGiven: He's only called Commissioner, although Parker likes to call him "Chloe's boss".
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: When he learns Chloe's side of the story as to how she entered on a Data Train, he is patient with her and goes to her defense when everyone (except Hop) accuse her of being a thief. He also doesn't give a severe punishment to everyone on [=ReFusion=], just writing some papers or else face a suspension. He also doesn't erase Parker's memories when he learns, and while he can't make Parker a Cyber Warrior due to his age, he does give him a few privileges like an ID and a weapon for him to defend himself.

![=ReFusion=]
A Data Train that travels the stars that connects the verse of Arcanum and Hop and Chloe's place of work.

A brother-sister team who run [=ReFusion=]. Aric is the historian while Elia runs the train as its conductor. They are also Cyber Mages assigned to Chloe and Hop.
----
* BadassBookworm: Aric always has a book on hand and he can summon lupine-like constructs in battle.
* BlowYouAway: Elia is capable of casting cyber storms, manifested in large gusts of wind.
* Fanboy: Aric is a fan of Professor Oak's haikus.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: In a platonic sense with Elia only reaching her brother's hip.
* LargeHam: Elia tends to act like this when exclaiming how much DOOM the likes of Chloe is putting on the Data Train.
* SiblingTeam: As the description says, they are a brother and sister who take control of [=ReFusion=]

A four-armed coach who trains Cyber Warriors in different martial arts.
-----
* TheBeastmaster: She's the one who tames the numerous Dream Eaters [=ReFusion=] carries on board.
* CharacterCatchphrase: Tends to bark how her students need to put their heart and soul into their practice as if their life depends on it...because it does!
* MultiArmedAndDangerous: She has four arms and is the martial arts trainer of [=ReFusion=].
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She's a four-armed muscle bound warrior who also takes care of the adorable Dream Eaters.
* ShoutOut: Shares the name as Experiment 601, along with having four arms like her namesake.
* WhipSword: Wields one, which she usually wraps around her waist like a belt.
* YouMonster: PlayedForLaughs. Chloe calls her one for making her and Hop run five laps while listening to the Dream Eaters Theme, as she knows the dark truth about them.

A Cyber Warrior in charge of surveillance.
----
* AliceAllusion: Admitted by the author to be one of the Cheshire Cat given her large grin and the pink-purple coloration akin to the Disney animated version.
* KindHeartedCatLover: She hopes to have a purple-pink cat Pokémon as a partner.
* LittleBitBeastly: Described as having purple and pink cat ears.

!!Gunning's Court
A group of veteran Cyber Warriors also on board [=ReFusion=] who are technically Chloe and Hop's co-workers.

* CutenessProximity: Despite being serious Cyber Warriors, many of them like cute things.
** Gunning's reaction to seeing Chloe's Skiddo is that he has to ride them, due to Skiddo being an innocent little grass goat.
** Achi and Patra scream in excitement over their dragon partners.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: A serious no-nonsense fey leader with a love of toksatsu, the sane fisherman, dryad sisters -- one who fights with a beartrap and one who is into interior design and eco-friendly dyes -- and a young boy who can transform into a shark and is obsessed with squid games.
* QueerColors: Achi and Patra are depicted as Aromantic and Asexual respectively and have appearances reflecting that: black hair and grey-white tunics with Achi having green streaks and Patra having purple streaks.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Achi is the deadpan blacksmith who fights with a savage beartrap, compared to her sister's peppy eco-friendly projects and use of gauntlets.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Achi and Patra are the only females.

The leader of Gunning's Court. A no-nonsense Rank 3 Cyber Warrior who has a soft spot for Tokusatsu. His weapon is a levi-wand and a set of hoops called "Mab's Awakening".
----
* AnimalMotifs: Goats. His mother is a general for Capricorn House and Orchid Observer later reveals that he has a Skiddo, which is a goat-like Pokémon.
* BerserkButton: Played for laughs. He hates spoilers and is not happy when Chloe was about to give away two major twists to two Kamen Rider series he hasn't watched yet (specifically she was about to spoil ). In Chapter 12, he does not want to have any spoilers from Series/KamenRiderDragonKnight, particularly in regards to Kamen Rider Sting and if he dies to General Xaviax.Sting doesn't get vented by General Xaviax, but rather through a HeroicSacrifice to save Kamen Rider Knight from Kamen Rider Strike's Final Vent. Then it turns out being "vented" puts a person in a state of suspended animation.
* TheComicallySerious: He's a serious Cyber Warrior but his love of tokusatsu and him pressuring Chloe for Power Rangers: Beast Morphers theories and his dislike of spoilers give him hilarious traits.
* TheFairFolk: He's fae and his weapon's name comes from a figure from Shakespeare called "Queen Mab".
* Fanboy: Implied. His team is based off of a Super Sentai and he gets interested in Chloe's theories about Power Rangers: Beast Morphers being connected to RPM. He also gets incredibly pissed off when Chloe is about to give him Kamen Rider spoilers.
* GreenThumb: He's known to take care of plants...said plants are of the more aggressive kind. And he ends up finding himself unable to resist Chloe's Skiddo, which is a Grass-type. For this reason, Hop decides that his first Pokémon will be a Budew.
* HypocriticalHumor: He tells Chloe that fighting a Grade A virus solo is stupid. Sai quickly quips that Gunning did this when he played Alone in the Dark.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: After Chloe and Hop prove themselves as worthy Cyber Warriors, he starts becoming an ally while keeping his serious air, training them and even tossing Chloe a VideoGame/GoldenSun cartridge so she can use the game as training to hone her telekinetic skills.
* MagicWand: His Cyber-tool is a Levi-wand which he can use in conjunction with a series of glowing hoops.
* NoodleIncident: According to Sai, he's not willing to babysit Daga again after something involving glitter glue and stained glass.
* ShoutOut: He's the leader of a RagtagBunchOfMisfits and his name is Gunning. Why does that sound familiar?

A Cyber Warrior from a fishing village who wields a pair of sai.
----
* BadlyBatteredBabysitter: He's usually Daga's caretaker, a job that is easier said than done given how the boy is (literally) like a shark.
* BoringButPractical: His crafting skill is leveled up through embroidery or mending nets and clothes. As he notes, it's not glamorous, but it gets the job done.
* CommonalityConnection: Chloe states that she can empathize with how he's stuck babysitting a hyperactive little boy in Daga, like she's keeping an eye on her brother, Parker.
* DualWielding: He fights with two sai.
* GoalInLife: He hopes to turn all other floating villages into prosperous economies by using the money he makes as a Cyber Warrior to send back to his family and create jobs for underprivileged workers.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: He's a Cyber Warrior so he can donate the money from his job to his village back home.
* PunnyName: He's named after Poseidon and he wields a pair of sai. (The pronunciation of the "sei" in Poseidon is like the weapon).
* RealMenCanCook: He's a decent cook, given that he grew up in a seafood restaurant before becoming a Cyber Warrior.
* RealMenWearPink: He does embroidery and sewing on the side, which he justifies by stating he had to learn these skills to fix fishing nets.
* ScarfOfAsskicking: He wears a scarf around his neck that looks like large coils of rope.
* ScaryShinyGlasses: When he's first seen, the narration brings up the evil glow of his glasses. After Chloe becomes a Cyber Warrior, this dies down.
* SymbolMotifClothing: His shirt and bag have a fish-hook, representing his origins.
* TokenHuman: He's the only human of the group as Gunning is fae, Achi and Patra are dryads and Dagan is a Data Child.
* TokenMinority: While it's hard to identify the ethnicities of his fellow Gunning's Court group, he's stated to be of Southeast-Asian descent (specifically he's from Thailand, according to author notes).
* WaterIsBlue: Befitting a warrior related to water, his main color is blue from his sai to his scarf.

A member of Gunning's Court with an affinity for textiles and armor. Her weapon is a sentient bear trap.
----
* AchillesHeel: Electricity, since she commands her bear trap on a chain. Once Yamper bites down on the chain with Thunder Fang, she ends up paralyzed.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: In contrast to her sister, she acts flippant towards Chloe and Hop. She does gradually warm up to them, but still keeps her aloof air. Chloe even comments that it's sometimes hard to tell what's going on with her.
* AngryGuardDog: [=ZigZag=], a living bear trap, acts like one and is very aggressive to boot.
* ExtremityExtremist: She mostly uses her feet for fighting, or for kicking [=ZigZag=] around.
* Fanboy: Her sister states she's a Music/DavidBowie fan, and part of her bear-trap's name is named after Bowie's persona, Ziggy Stardust.
* Irony: Her name is based on Achilles, whose supposed weakness was his heel. Her fighting style involves her being barefoot and plenty of kicks.
* MeaningfulName: Her name is similar to the Japanese word ashi, which translates to "Foot'. Fittingly, she fights with kicks.
* MrFixit: She's the resident repair-woman of [=ReFusion=], as she states that she's the one fixing up the Cyber Armor all Cyber Warriors wear.
* NeverHeardThatOneBefore: When Chloe stares at her, she rolls her eyes and tells the girl to make comments on her pointed ears (Chloe was actually staring at her earrings).
* PrefersGoingBarefoot: She's mentioned going around barefoot, which is given emphasis due to how she fights with kicks and launches her bear trap without feeling pain.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She works with metal and blacksmithing and her weapon is a bear trap. She still can't help but coo at her dragon partner like her sister.

Twin sister of Achi who makes a living on interior design and all-natural products. Her weapon is a pair of shield-summoning gauntlets.
----
* AbsurdPhobia: Being afraid of snakes is justified, being afraid of stuffed animal versions of them is where it falls into this trope.
* GranolaGirl: She is all about all-natural dyes by gathering food and plant waste then boiling them, along with working on a machine that can turn leftovers into an all natural compost.
* IronicName: While her name is a reference to Patrocles to relate to how her sister is named after Achilles, she also can be based off Cleopatra -- who allegedly died of a snake bite whereas Patra hates plushie snakes.
* LethalChef: Implied to be one of these. When she suggests to cook for a Crafting Potluck, the rest of her group immediately chases after her to stop, with Gunning even comparing her to Mako. She can make microwave mug cheesecakes but Sai shudders at the time she made a "fish bone three bean soup".
* PowerFist: Her weapons are large gauntlets that she uses for defensive purposes.
* TextileWorkIsFeminine: She's the cheery one of the twins and associates herself with clothes colored with all-natural dyes through plant leftovers like branches and onion peels.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She's afraid of snakes...plushie snakes, that is.

A young boy who loves fish. He's actually a Data Child with an affinity of turning into a shark.
----
* AlienBlood: He looks very similar to a human, to the point that one of the only ways to tell he's not is through his blood, in which he starts bleeding cyan 1s and 0s.
* AnimalMotif: Sharks. Like sharks are known to be constantly swimming, he's known to have a very energetic attitude.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Daga is close with Sai because Sai saved him from an underwater attack years ago.
* DeadlyEuphemism: If any of his allies tell him that it's time to "go fishing", then he'll use his fishing rod to summon an SMT summon to attack the enemy.
* ICallItVera: He calls his fishing pole "Big's Fishing Supreme" after Big the Cat.
* IronicName: His Cyber Tool is called "BFS", which is usually short for Big F*ing Sword...but his weapon is actually a fishing pole which is the last thing you'd expect to be a weapon.
* Keet: Calling him hyperactive is an understatement, as it's near impossible to keep him still for long periods of time.
* RodAndReelRepurposed: His Cyber Tool is a fishing pole.
* RunningGag: He really wants to watch Series/SquidGame with Sai refusing to humor him for good reason.
* ShoutOut:
** While he's named after the Mesopotamian god, his ability to turn into a shark humanoid also recalls Dagon, who was originally based off of said Mesopotamian god before it was revealed that Dagon was actually a god of wheat.
** He names a one-finned goldfish toy Chloe gifts him "Gus". According to author notes, this was originally a placeholder for when Daga's name was going to be based off of Creator/OscarIsaac.
* UnscaledMerfolk: In water, he gains a shark-like form.

!Cerise Institute

Father of Chloe and the head of the Cerise Institute.
----
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Can't help but admit to himself that his daughter having a Tinkaton would be hilarious.
* AdaptationExpansion: The only info we have on Cerise as a character is in Journeys Episode 120. In the story, we learn that he has a few Pokémon who are taking care of Chloe's grandfather, Albert Cerise.
* BoyfriendBlockingDad: He really doesn't want his daughter to be involved in a relationship. He immediately gets suspicious about Hop knowing Chloe, and Chloe notes that he probably wouldn't want her crushing on Alain any time soon.
* CompositeCharacter: If Chloe is Miko and Parker is Lexi, he has a few traits of Nica Kubota in how he's vaguely aware of what his daughter's getting into, like how Nica was dragged into some of Miko's Glitch Tech duties but doesn't realize the truth.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Professor Oak tells Chloe that he's involved in the Rune Masquerade in some way. If only she knew...

Professor Cerise's assistants in the Cerise Institute.
----
* AmbiguouslyGay: When Chryssa sees a picture of Grusha, she starts gushing at how pretty "she" is. When Julianna reveals that Grusha's a boy, she doesn't seem too shocked about it.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Both are oblivious to their boss's secret life as a GentlemanThief and his daughter's new drive in fighting viruses through video games.

A boy from Pallet Town who is one of Professor Cerise's research fellows, who hopes to fight Leon in the World Coronation Series.
----
* AdaptationalIntelligence: He has quite the memory as he's able to recount many examples of trainers who used Eevees throughout his journeys and also brings up other adventures from his past.
* BigBrotherMentor: He helps Chloe when it comes to learning more about the Pokémon world through his experiences.
* BridalCarry: He saves Ryu this way when Goh's Dugtrio goes off against Team Rocket's Sandslash and Excadrill, but he doesn't understand the context of how "wrong" it is.
* ToBeAMaster: His end-game is to climb the ranks of the World Coronation Series to fight Leon one on one, and the fanfic is no different in that regard.
* WhyDidntIThinkOfThat: He says this when he sees Ryu use his Lucario's AuraVision to detect the movements of the Diglett in Laxton's farm, stating that he should've brought his own Lucario to deal with the problem.

A boy from Vermillion City who captures Pokémon on his way to meet with Mew. He's also a research fellow for Professor Cerise and Chloe's friend since they were young.
-----
* ActorAllusion: When Goh drags Chloe out of the Cerise Institute, after Ryu states that he hates mint chocolate chip ice cream, which Chloe loves, he shouts to Professor Cerise, "Byeeee!"
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: If there was one trope to define Goh in Blossomverse, it's InnocentlyInsensitive. This Goh is much more self-aware of his insensitivity and tries to reach out to Chloe more often, willingly giving up captured Pokémon to her when he realizes that she's not getting anything during their Galar Wild Area trip.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Goh finds something suspicious over Daten, Ryu's Digimon, when Ryu insists that Daten is just a (talking) Ditto who loves different transformations. Ryu points out how Goh finds this weird when he regularly fights a talking Meowth.
* CanonForeigner: Any Pokémon Goh catches in the story that aren't from the anime are this. In Chapter 14, he caught an Onix and Sandslash whlie Chloe was at school.
* CompositeCharacter: Given the Let's Go! vibes going on between Chloe and him, particularly how they see each other as Friendly Rivals in Pokémon catching, then he essentially is the Chase to Chloe's Elaine. Helps that Goh already has a Cubone in his party, just like Chase captures the Cubone of the deceased Marowak.
* EpicFail: When he finally gets to see Juliana's Fuecoco, he tries to tackle it into a hug...and crashes on the floor after Fuecoco falls onto the floor to snooze.
* FatalFlaw: Single-mindedness, particularly to friendship. Like in the anime, Goh has a skewed idea of what "Friendship" means after the incident with Tokio. Even after moving on from it, he gets prickly in regards to Chloe being friends with other Trainers but also how she's deliberately keeping secrets from him, blowing up when Chloe says she's trying to capture a Quagsire to impress Tommy's father (so she can get an application to be a Pokémon Ranger).
* GottaCatchEmAll: His goal is to fill his Pokédex as much as he can in order to understand them and connect to his goal to catch Mew. In fact, it's this very trope that Ryu asks Chloe to not tell Goh about Digimon for fear he might try to capture them as well.
* Hypocrite: Dislikes Hop for how he was able to become friends with Chloe so quickly all while ignoring how he and Ash became friends just as quick. Also hates how Chloe is keeping secrets from him in regards to the friends he's made, while ignoring that he never told Chloe about Tokio for years on end.
* Irony: In the anime, Goh doesn't really show interest in Chloe's life outside her asking why she didn't want more Pokémon in episode 49. After Chloe meets Hop, he starts to become invested as to what's going on when he's not around.
* Keet: When it comes to Pokémon catching, he's always raring to go.
* NewFriendEnvy: Is shown to have hints of jealousy towards Hop in how he and Chloe just instantly clicked despite him never hearing about him before. Chloe reassures him that she and Goh will always be friends no matter what. This reaches a boiling point during the Suicune expedition as he prevents Chloe from tending to Suicune by nothing the secrets Chloe's kept from him from the last four friends she's met (Tommy, Yuri, Juliana, and Hop).
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Had Goh let Chloe take care of the Quagsire instead of fighting with her, Chloe wouldn't have flung her Poké ball and accidentally caught Suicune by mistake.
* OffscreenMomentOfAwesome: He captured an Onix in Chapter 14.
* SeekerArchetype: Fitting someone who wishes to capture Pokémon in order to learn more about them, he also is trying to figure out what's going on with Chloe and Hop.
* TheTeamNormal: When compared to Ash (who has Aura powers) and Chloe (who has a telekinetic weapon and implied sixth sense), Goh is the normal one of the Cerise Institute trio as his main skill is his ability to (usually) a capture Pokémon with a single Poké ball without missing. Lampshaded by Gunning, who even questions if Goh uses tech or is blessed with magic.

Cerise's research fellow from the Paldea region.
-----
* BerserkButton: Does not like it when she's confused to be from the Oaxa (Mexico) region when Parker innocently thought that, as she's Spanish, she likes salsa.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: She detests onions and consider them a sin to cooking.
* TheGadfly: She shows a picture of Grusha and lets Chloe gush on how pretty "she" is before revealing that Grusha is a male. She also steathily insults Chloe by calling her a capullo de flor roja (Translation: a red flower bud) and later tomate cherry (Cherry tomato). She also loves driving Chloe up the wall in regards to the adorable antics of her Fuecoco, given how Chloe wants one for herself.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: She's starting her own journey as a Trainer, having already befriended Miraidon, she's a Digimon Tamer on the side, and is apparently in the know on whatever Professor Cerise is up to (not to mention she's going to be joining up with WOOHP agents in the future).
* HiddenDepths: One of the classes she takes in the Uva Academy is ballroom dancing.
* Irony:
** She heavily detests the Spexico trope...when her starter, Fuecoco, has evolutions which have cultural references to Mexico.
** Her ColorMotif is purple, but her starter Pokémon is Fuecoco and her Digimon partner is a Coronamon. Both of them are scarlet.
* ParasolOfPain: Her weapon is a parasol.
* PlayingWithFire: Her Paldean starter is Fuecoco and her Digimon partner is Coronamon, both with the power of flames.
* RememberTheNewGuy: When she appears in the story, she's already well acquainted with Professor Cerise, Chryssa and Renji which Chloe lampshades. Julianna explains she's known them for a while, but Chloe was so aloof and distant to the world of Pokémon that she never paid attention, not to mention that Juliana is stationed in another region.
* SecretKeeper: She keeps mum about Chloe's Cyber Warrior job in exchange for Chloe keeping hush-hush on having Miraidon.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: She's not into mummies.

!Cerise Residence

Chloe's mother and wife of Professor Cerise.
----
* AdaptationalJobChange: The anime said that she's an illustrator, whereas the fanfic has her be a web-comic artist who later gets a baking side-job thanks to Alcremie.
* AmbiguousSituation:
** When she sees Daten (who is a Digimon although Chloe and Ryu insist they're a Ditto), she remarks on calling them a "digi-pal" before leaving it at that. Is she just giving them a nickname or does she know about Digimon and is secretly telling them she's on their side?
** How much is she aware of the escapades of her family or Arcanum in general? Aside from the ambiguity of calling Daten a "digi-pal", it's mentioned in Scarlet Heists that when Indigo tried to imitate her husband, she instantly noticed something was wrong and put him on dishwashing duty.
* DecompositeCharacter: Most Chloes in the Blossomverse have a love of nightmares, but this trait is given to Talia.
* FeminineWomenCanCook: She cooks and decides to work on a side-job of making pastries to get some income, especially when she becomes fast friends with Chloe's Alcremie.
* GentlemanThief: Not her, but this is a motif for her. She's writing a web-comic about a bunny thief, her favorite video game series is Sly Cooper, and she has no idea her own husband is a supernatural version of this trope.
* HiddenDepths: She may or may not know Digimon as she calls Daten (a Keramon) a "digi-pal" even though Chloe and Ryu say that they're really a Ditto who likes unusual forms.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: She's the only member of the Cerise family who is not in the know of anything involving the Rune Masquerade as her husband is a PhantomThief, her daughter is a Cyber Warrior, and her son is the SecretKeeper to Chloe.
* NightmareFetishist: Cerise notes that his wife has a tendency to get inspiration for her webcomic from his nightmares.
* OddFriendship: She bonds very quickly with Chloe's Alcremie and the two work together to sell lemon cream based foods.
* StealthPun: She writes fantasy stories and bonds with Chloe's Alcremie, a Fariy-type. She's a fan of fairy tales.
* SweetBaker: She's a kind woman who has a baking side-job.

Chloe's little brother.
----
* AdaptationalBadass: Parker never showed any signs of getting into Pokémon in the anime, but by the time he's seen in Orchid Observer, not only is he the one keeping an eye on Goh's Pokémon in the Institute, but he has his own partner in a Piplup he calls Creamsicle.
* AdaptationalSkill: He doesn't show any skills in his minor appearance in the anime, but he knows a bit of Kalosian as he tells Julianna that a comment Chloe made to her is to call her a "Shrinking Violet" in retaliation for Julianna calling Chloe a flower bud in Paldean.
* BerserkButton: Do not diss VideoGame/Ico. When Julianna calls it "boring", he goes on a tirade on the story of how Yorda and Ico had to rely on one another to escape the Castle of the Mist.
* BubbleGun: Hop's Cyber Tool for him is a bubble wand that can capture runaway viruses without having to fight them.
* CompositeCharacter: Chloe is to Miko as Parker is to Lexi, being the SecretKeeper younger sibling about their big sister's job.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: Like most kids his age, he hates mushrooms and spinach. Although he later changes his mind on the latter when Talia suggests putting spinach in brownies. Downplayed with onions, though; he likes them when used in Kalos onion soup.
* Fanboy:
** He's into Series/KamenRiderFourze, given the Fourze poster and figure in his bedroom and how he does Fourze's "Uchu Kita!" pose.
** He's in the know about VideoGame/Darkstalkers, accurately describing many of the playable characters and wanting to see himself as Cecil, the orphan boy whom Huitzil bonds with.
* FromTheMouthOfBabes: When he and Chloe see Tommy at the Cerise Institute, he remarks that Tommy is "Chloe's master". There is an awkward silence from everyone before Chloe clarifies that Tommy is her teacher in martial arts.
* JustAKid: The Commissioner uses this trope as the reason why he can't make Parker a Cyber Warrior, as he's only in kindergarten. However, he can make Parker an unofficial Cyber Warrior that gives him an ID, goggles and a Cyber Tool in case of emergencies.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Parker tries to use one of Datchi's abilities to get Ogremon away from Chloe and Juliana...except the ability is not supposed to be used in conjunction with the virus currently possessing Ogremon, thus the Digimon gets out of his laptop and into the Cerise Institute. To his credit, he points out that he had no idea about what happened because the warnings for the ability comes after the description.
* RealMenWearPink: Chloe notes that he's into WesternAnimation/LoliRock and he shipped Mephisto and Aurianna.
* SecretKeeper: Chloe tells him about how she's a Cyber Warrior after her trip from the Galar Wild area.
* ShoutOut: His internal thoughts on being a Cyber Warrior and Digimon Tamer is similar to Anya's reactions to having a spy father and assassin mother.
* Squee: His internal thoughts on being a Cyber Warrior and having a Digimon is to say that this is "so so so COOL!"

A Pokemon Professor in Pallet Town and Professor Cerise's mentor. He hands Chloe and Hop a Kanto starter and gives them information in regards to his role in Arcanum.
----
* CoolKey: He has a strange key that he used to summon Blake.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He and Blake opened up a detective business in Arcanum.
* TheKlutz: Blake notes that every single time he pulls out his special key, it always ends up being thrown out of his hands.
* MrExposition: He is the one that explains the Darkness Manifestation event to Chloe and Hop.
* SpitTake: Does this with his tea when Chloe remarks about how Ash met up with a boy with Professor Oak's first name.

One of Professor Oak's assistants. In reality, he's actually the "darkness" of Professor Oak in human form.
------
* AmbiguouslyRelated: When Chloe asks if he's related to Blake Nova, a legendary weaponsmith for Cyber Tools, all he says is, "Kinda".
* BerserkButton: Call him "Flaky" at your own risk. Narration points out that his fists were trembling when Chloe called him that.
* IronicName: His name is an archaic word for "Black", but his hair is white.
* MeaningfulName: Blake is another word for Black, and combined with his "surname" gives you "Black Oak", a subspecies of oak tree.
* MusclesAreMeaningless: He's around Hop's age with toothpick arms, yet lifts a metal bookshelf with just one hand.
* MysticalWhiteHair: Has pure white hair and he's the embodiment of Professor Oak's "darkness".
* MythologyGag: A relative of Professor Oak whose name starts with "Bl" and named after a color, just like Blue.
* NoodleIncident: Him arriving to Professor Oak's lab through a door summoned in the lab with his key has happened to him in the past.
* SuperStrength: He's capable of lifting a heavy bookshelf with one hand without any strain. He first proved his strength to Professor Oak by lifting a hospital bed with Professor Oak in it.

Professor Oak's assistants in Pallet Town, making sketches of Pokémon.
----
* CommonalityConnection: He connects with Chloe due to his sketches being similar to Talia's own drawings, giving Chloe advice to improve her own doodles.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: He's completely unaware of Professor Oak's connections to the Rune Masquerade.

!!Vermillion International School

A girl who goes to Chloe and Goh's school who loves cute Pokémon.
----
* CanonForeigner: She didn't have a Pikachu in the 4koma appeared in -- it's Ash's Pikachu in her hands -- but she has one in the fanfic.
* CutenessProximity: She loves cute Pokémon.
* GenkiGirl: She's very energetic and lively to contrast the introverted Chloe.
* HiddenDepths: While she seems like an energetic girl who loves cute things, she gives her own speech of what it means for a Pokémon to be "cute" and how she wants to have all Pokémon be cute in their own way. Chloe internally lampshades how she never expected Mika to be philosophical.
* OnlyFriend: Seems to be the only student Chloe interacts with at school when Goh isn't around before Mika drags her to make some new friends.
* ARareSentence: Chloe notes that she never wants to hear Mika state that Team Star's actions make Yeardley look like a model student.
* ShipperOnDeck: Mika likes shipping students, so she is shocked when Chloe blurts out how she she sees her and Tommy as JustFriends.
* ShockAndAwe: Obviously her Pikachu, being an Electric type.
* SpitTake: Spits her drink out when she hears Chloe wanting to be friends with Tommy.
* TrueBlueFemininity: She wears a blue barrette with a Pikachu face, in contrast to Chloe's PinkIsFeminine.

An upperclassman in Chloe and Goh's school, who decides to become Chloe's martial arts sensei.
----
* BetterAsFriends: Chloe spits out how she only sees him as a friend and nothing more. Tommy reciprocates, albeit making a joke how he sees the two as master and student.
* ColorMotifs: Green. He has a Smoliv, Appletun, and Tropius, all of them green Pokémon, and he wears a green shirt when he and Chloe have martial-arts practice. It's a nice contrast to the girl who has red hair.
* DecompositeCharacter: He and his father are based off of Tommy Oliver, but Tommy Flouros is specifically based off of MMPR and Zeo Tommy Oliver.
* GreenThumb: Has a Smoliv, Appletun, and Tropius, all are Grass-types.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: When he introduces himself to Ash and Goh, he says he's from "Chloe's school", completely unaware that Goh also goes to that school. He then admits that he didn't know much about Goh since he's frequently skipping class for research expeditions.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: His Appletun and Kommo-o are Dragon-types. Appletun is especially weird for a dragon, as it looks more like a turtle mixed with an apple pie.
* ShoutOut: A walking-talking reference to Tommy Oliver, whom the author stated he was a tribute to Jason David Frank.
** His father's full name is Jasper Doryuo Flouros. Take the first letters away and you get JDF, or Jason David Frank. Moreover, Jasper Flouros is a Pokémon Ranger, who is part of the Truehart group, a reference to Tommy's twin brother David Trueheart and adoptive father Sam Trueheart.
** He likes wearing his hair in a ponytail and his favorite colors are green and black. Tommy Oliver wore his hair in a ponytail in his debut and he was both a Green and Black ranger.
** His Pokémon include a Smoliv, Appletun, Kommo-o, and Tropius. Smoliv because of Tommy Oliver, Appletun is a green dragon, Kommo-o for being a Dragon Pokémon who knows martial arts, and Tropius for the Brachius zord from Dino Thunder.
** Tommy mentions having an arrowhead and a brother, again a reference to David Trueheart.

A boy who sits behind Chloe in class, mostly known for stating how his "life is a work in progress".
----
* AscendedExtra: Only has one line in the anime, the story has him be the catalyst that gets Chloe on the road to being a Pokemon Ranger/
* LovingBully: Discussed; Talia notes how Yeardley's teasing is him having a crush on Chloe. Chloe vehemently disagrees with this.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: His needling over Chloe is what makes Chloe blurt out how she wants to become a Pokémon Ranger, and subsequently taking the steps to enroll in a Ranger academy.

!!Pokémon Other

A Pokémon trainer whom Hop has fought in the past.
----
* DecompositeCharacter: A white-haired jerkass to a nice, dorky purple-haired boy? Given that Hop specifically is based off of Five, then Bede is his Mitch Williams.
* TheGhost: Mentioned once in passing but never seen.
* SmallRoleBigImpact: Hop's loss to Bede, and Bede's condescending remarks that Hop is dragging Leon's name down, is what caused Hop to stop focusing on battling and end up on [=ReFusion=]

A recurring trio who usually trail Ash and Pikachu, although they're also gained curiosity in Chloe's powerful Eevee.
----
* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Chloe was never under their radar in Journeys, not counting an interaction Meowth and Chloe had, but now they've become interested in her after Matori mentions her Eevee's potential.
* AdaptationalBadass:
** When Yamper fought Pelipper, they only exchanged two blows before Pelipper got blasted away. In the fanfic, the two have a much longer battle with Pelipper deploying Water Pulse and Double Team as well.
** Jessie, James and Meowth are capable of beating up Chloe's Pokémon and become a much more dangerous threat when Ash and Goh aren't around. While Chloe does end up defeating the Rocket Prize Master Alakazam and Exploud, she's incapable of stopping their Drednaw from wrecking them. Even Meowth and Wobbuffet are capable of delivering powerful hits in!
* CombatPragmatist: In Chapter 8, Jessie made sure to keep a spare Pokéball on her so that when Chloe has defeated her and James' Alakazam and Exploud, she can toss out Drednaw to utterly maw the already weakened Eevee and Squirtle.
* FriendlyEnemy: One-sided. Chloe was kind enough to give them suggestions to have Morpeko devour leftovers from convenient stores as a way to eliminate food waste, and even drops a bag of Oran berries as well. Team Rocket surprisingly takes the advice as Chloe happily follows them to see them sharing large bags of sandwiches.
-->Chloe: Just because we're on enemy lines, doesn't mean we can't be cordial, right?
* GaveUpTooSoon: Enforced by Chloe. When she recognizes that the Rocket Prize Master is just a big gumball machine, she uses her newly gifted telekinesis to make sure the hatch that drops a Poké ball remains shut, thus having Team Rocket believe that the machine was broken and that they'd be forced to use Pelipper to fight back. Had they waited a little longer for Chloe to drain most of her energy trying to keep the Prize Master shut, they would've had a better chance at succeeding.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Jessie is complaining that she didn't know Chloe was going to kick ass, but given that prior to their fight their first encounter had her fleeing from them during the Slateport Water Festival, it is a safe assumption to assume Chloe doesn't know anything about fighting at all.
* NearVillainVictory: In Chapter 8, Team Rocket almost secures a victory against Chloe when her Pokémon are weakened from their fight and Jessie summons Dreadnaw to finish the job. Then Alain arrives and whomps Drednaw with Chestnaught.
* NeverMyFault: When Meowth complains that Jessie could've used Wobbuffett to counter Chloe's moves when they fought at her school, Jessie complains that she didn't know Chloe was going to be tougher than she looks.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Team Rocket assumed Chloe would be nothing but a pushover when they fight at her school's playground. Too bad they had no idea that Chloe had been training Yamper on the side and she just completed her own adventure on a Data Train to give her more confidence to stand up for herself.
* WhyDontYouJustShootHim: During the Laxton Farm trip, Jessie uses Wobbuffett to knock out Chloe's Breloom. Meowth then asks why Jessie didn't use this sooner, instead of having Pelipper fight off a Pokémon that knows Electric moves. Jessie can only stammer that she had no idea Chloe was that powerful.

The son of one of Cerise's friends, who is forced on the Laxton Farm's trip on threat of homework. Later appears in Infinity Train: Seeker of Crocus.
----
* AlternateSelf: He's an alternate version of the Ryu in Fanfic/InfinityTrainSeekerOfCrocus.
* AmbiguousSituation: He tells Chloe that his father, Tenebrae, is actually a dragon. But he doesn't say anything about whether or not he is a dragon.
* AuraVision: His Lucario's specialty, and Ryu uses it to make the job of hunting Diglett at Laxton's farm easier.
* BerserkButton: Don't do something that makes him have to restart a level of his game all over again. While he's indifferent to Team Rocket's shenanigans, he starts taking the battle seriously when he loses a boss battle.
* BigEater: His Gabite has a large appetite, devouring most of the vegetables Laxton delivered to the Cerise Institute.
* BrilliantButLazy: He can think of solutions out of the box but he hates doing his homework, only going to Laxton's farm under threat of extra tutoring.
* ComicallyMissingThePoint: In Seeker of Crocus, his Digimon pal Daten is nearly squished by a tray thrown by Aoi. (His) Gloria notes this could be avoided if he shoves Daten into a bag, to which he points out that he didn't because the bag he wanted to purchase had people give one star reviews for "not being able to keep their Nebbies in place".It's a reference to VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon in which Nebby (Cosmog) constantly escaped Lillie's bag. And yes, when a real-life version of Lillie's bag was revealed, people did leave one-star reviews related to the meme.
* CuttingTheKnot: Instead of aimlessly searching for the Diglett and their Dugtrio leader hiding in Laxton's carrot patch, he uses his Lucario's aura vision to detect where Dugtrio is at. He also has Lucario detect where Team Rocket was currently hiding.
* DoesNotLikeSpam:
** He hates carrots, not helping that Laxton's Diglett problem happens to be in the field where he's planting them. This is due to how his father would ask him and his digimon partner to taste-test numerous carrot dishes for his café.
** He's also not a fan of mint choco ice cream, comparing it to eating toothpaste for dessert.
* FauxHorrific: He can either go out for farming or his father can take away his games and force him into extra tutoring. He immediately goes for the former.
* MeaningfulName: His name is Japanese for dragon, and he reveals his father is one.
* MythicalMotifs: Dragons. His name is Japanese for "Dragon", he has the Ground/Dragon Gabite, a Lucario named after Bruce Lee (born under the Year of the Dragon), and his father is a dragon with a human form.
* TheNicknamer: Calls his Lucario "Bruce" and his Gabite is "Chompers". When he appears in Seeker of Crocus, he calls his Gloria "Glo-Glo".
* ShoutOut: His Lucario, who is part Fighting-type, is named Bruce.
* VitriolicBestBuds: He's this with Juliana, as he calls themselves "Best Frenemies Forever".

The World Coronation Champion and Hop's older brother. Hop aspires to be a good of a trainer as Leon one day.
----
* AffectionateNickname: Hop calls him "Lee", just like in the games.
* ArmorPiercingQuestion: Gives one to Hop when he learns how Hop has taken a break from the World Coronation battles.
-->Leon: Are you sure those [new dreams] are what you want? Or were they caused from Bede giving you that loss?
* PlayingWithFire: His signature Pokemon is his Charizard.
* UnseenNoMore: Mentioned many times throughout the story but never seen. Justified in that he's in Galar whereas the story usually is focused either in Vermillion City or on [=ReFusion=]. He finally makes an appearance in Chapter 14.
* WorldsStrongestMan: He is the #1 champion of the World Coronation series and remains undefeated.

Tommy's father who is a Pokémon Ranger and part-time mechanic.
----
* DecompositeCharacter: He and his son are based off of Tommy Oliver, but he is more inspired by Turbo and Dino Thunder Tommy.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: He's a Pokémon Ranger who travels the world protecting Pokémon habitats from poachers. He's first seen on the track of Suicune.
* InSeriesNickname: "Dr. F" by Hayley.
* TheMechanic: Tommy states that his dad has a job as a mechanic in Vermillion City when not on Ranger duty.
* ShoutOut: Again, just like his son, he's a reference to Tommy Oliver.
** Author notes reveal that the names of his Ranger group are Connor, Ethan, Kira, and Trent. Hayley refers to the Dino Thunder Mission Control, and she calls him "Dr. F" just like Tommy Oliver was called "Dr. O".

!![=LoliRock=]
Characters that hail from WesternAnimation/LoliRock who crash the party in Chapter 8 during a concert in Vermillion City.

* TheCameo: Doug and Kyle are briefly shown in Sunny Bay, watching the performance.
* CommonalityConnection: Auriana gushes over how she can't wait to tell Carissa that she and Chloe could bond over their telekinetic prowess. Bonus points in that Carissa has red hair that she puts in a braid and wears purple and Chloe also keeps her red hair in a braid and her weapon is purple.
* GemstoneAssault: [=LoliRock=] and Praxina attack each other with crystals.
* TheGhost: Auriana briefly mentions that they have to tell Izira, Carissa, and Lyna over what happened with Nathaniel.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Written as a potential season 3, but from what was mentioned, [=LoliRock=] has been chasing Praxina down across multiple worlds as she tries to find a way to bring back Mephisto through Nathaniel. Other notes include Lyna and Carissa defending Sunny Bay from Deimos and Phobos, and Lev is on his own quest to retrieve treasures before Praxina gets her hands on them.
* JustFriends: Kyle and Talia are revealed to be like this, with WordOfGod stating that Kyle would politely refuse Talia's efforts as he wants to focus on his robotics first.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: To the Season 2 finale, particularly in
* Magitek: Talia implies that she and Kyle have learned to cross her magic and his robotics into one.
* PosthumousCharacter: Mephisto, who died saving his sister, is mentioned this way.
* SecretKeeper: Doug and Kyle were later let in on the secret of [=LoliRock=].
* WildCard: Green Phantom Queen calls Lev this, but he's making sure Praxina doesn't get her hands on powerful artifacts.

* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Chloe comments that Iris looks prettier in person.
* PinkIsFeminine: Befitting the leader of a magical girl group, she's wearing lots of pink.
* ThePowerOfLove: Chloe convinces Iris that her love for Nathaniel is the key to freeing him, because it's thanks to Nathaniel's support that Iris learned of her heritage and became more confident in herself.
-->Chloe: I just told Iris that if she truly wanted to save Nathaniel, then she had to reach into his heart and not be afraid to express her love for him, because she knows and he knows, that no matter who or what she is, no matter what dangers she faces, she'll come out on top, because he knows her better than she knows herself.

* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: The show implied that she and Kyle will become a couple. Here, Talia has to explain that the two ultimately are JustFriends with author notes stating that she would be heartbroken over the decision but would move on from it.
* OneSteveLimit: Averted; she shares the same name as Chloe's mom.
* TrueBlueFemininty: The calm, intellectual blue-coded princess.

* ShipperOnDeck: She bursts into sobs when she sees Nathaniel free from his curse thanks to Iris.

* AdaptationalBadass: Nathaniel's only badass moment came as a BadassBystander in Season 2, and even then Iris had to hit the ResetButton. Here, thanks to Praxina's meddling, he gets a handle of Mephisto's magic.
* AscendedExtra: In a weird case; Nathaniel was mostly to be Iris's rock/maybe boyfriend throughout the series, but in this hypothetical "Season 3", he's the linchpin to Praxina's plans to resurrect her brother.
* BadPowersGoodPeople: He has been gifted with dark magic, but he hopes to wield it for good. As Alain states, bad powers does not necessarily mean "bad people"; it's all about how you view it.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Once Iris is able to help free Nathaniel from the curse, he learns to use Mephisto's powers for good as he would've.
* LossOfIdentity: The spell Praxina casted has him slowly lose his memories as they are replaced with Mephisto's, to the point that he's barely hanging on and can only utter Iris's name in fear.
* MindRape: Praxina's spell is eroding at Nathaniel's mind as he's stuck with Mephisto's memories and her will to be her brother again.
* NoodleIncident: Just what happened that got him involved in Praxina's plan in order to revive her brother via dark magic and giving him Mephisto's memories and magic is never explained.

* BerserkButton: Talking about love is enough for her to start throwing a tantrum, since it's a huge reminder of her brother sacrificing himself for her.
* BigShutUp: Roars this whenever anyone tries to remind her of Mephisto's death.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Wants Descendant's Shadow from Chloe due to its powers being the key to stopping her...she just didn't expect that the weapon can be very picky to whoever wields it, as it starts electrocuting her.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: Her brother's death pushed her over the edge. Chloe even points out the episode when Praxina lost her memories and was on the path of turning good but she gave that up for the sake of being with her brother.
* EvilCounterpart: Of Chloe. Both are girls with maroon hair and green eyes, both have brothers (or had in Praxina's case), and both have powers associated with darkness -- Praxina's black and red magic and Chloe's limited telekinesis. But Praxina was always a DarkMagicalGirl motivated by revenge and power whereas Chloe is on the side of good who wishes to use her powers to protect people.
* NeverMyFault: Blames Iris for her brother's death, but everyone else tells her that Mephisto died in a HeroicSacrifice because she got too close to Iris's battle against Gramorr while he was telling her to get out of the way.
* WhiteMaskOfDoom: White half-mask technically. She wears Gramorr's half mask in her EvilMakeover.
* TheWorfEffect: Praxina was spinning circles around everyone, but Shroud takes one of her attacks and makes it explode in her face.
