The heroic protectors of Mega City and successors of the now "vanished" Captain Atomic. Joey and AP transform into the superhero Atomic Puppet when Joey places AP on his hand, forming a dynamic duo unlike any other. As their powers come from the transformed Captain Atomic, Atomic Puppet possesses all his powers, allowing them to effortlessly take on the same threats the Captain did -- even despite the challenges that come with their unusual partnership.\

----
* ActionDuo: As the main superheroes of the show (and due to the circumstances of their partnership), all the fighting they do is a team effort.
* BadassCape: Being superheroes, they naturally possess these, even if they're a bit on the small size. Joey's is yellow, while AP's is red.
* BashBrothers: They're doubtless friends and natural partners in crime fighting. Everything they do from fighting bad guys to saving the city to patrolling for threats is done together, and over the course of the series, they grow into an inseparable duo.
* BigGuyLittleGuy: Due to being a tiny talking sock puppet, AP is the Little Guy to Joey's Big Guy (relatively speaking, of course). If AP were still Captain Atomic though, he'd very much be the Big Guy to scrawny 12-year-old Joey's Little Guy.
* BrainsAndBrawn: The more grounded and open-hearted rookie hero Joey is the Brains to the tenacious and hotheaded veteran crimfighter AP's Brawn. It flip-flops a bit with the circumstances, though, as when the two aren't powered up, Joey usually acts as more of the Brawn on account of being much larger and stronger than a talking sock puppet can be.
* CallingYourAttacks: "ATOMIC PUNCH!!", "ATOMIC WINDMILL!!", "ATOMIC KICK!!", "ATOMIC...", well, you get the idea.
* CatchPhrase: They have two, actually.
** Whenever they transform, they'll shout together:
-->"It's Atomic Time!"
** And whenever they defeat the threat of the episode, they'll shout:
-->"Victory pose!"
* CharacterDevelopment: While both of the duo have their own stories of growth over the course of the show's 26 episodes (see their entries below), they also share one together in their development as a team. In many early episodes, their partnership is generally awkward and full of mishaps, with AP frequently getting Joey into trouble while also being forced to rely on Joey for help with many things (generally to his great reluctance). Later episodes however see the duo become much more cooperative and coherent in their teamwork, bickering over petty shenanigans much less often and being much more familiarized with each other's usual way of life.
* ChestInsignia: AP possesses one in the form of a big capital "A" like that of the show's title. Joey gains this same insignia whenever he transforms.
* ChronicHeroSyndrome: Whenever there's trouble in Mega City, Atomic Puppet will be quick to rush to the scene. AP in particular is always insistent on heading out to fight crime the minute Joey has free time, and while this does lead to trouble early on in episodes like "Sick Day" and "Atomic Detention", the two are able to smooth out their team dynamic later on.
* {{Foil}}: To each other. Joey is a scrawny everyday kid who was catapulted into the life of a superhero by gaining superpowers from Captain Atomic's PuppetPermutation, while AP was a muscular CelebritySuperhero who was suddenly thrown into a more mundane life when he was rendered powerless by the same transformation. Additionally, whereas Joey is a NiceGuy and TheStraightMan who often finds himself having to juggle his SecretIdentity with his ordinary life, AP is a rude and arrogant {{Manchild}} who knew nothing ''except'' the life of a superhero (to the point where it's implied in a few episodes that he didn't even ''have'' a secret identity back when he was Captain Atomic).
* FusionDance: It involves placing AP on Joey's hand. This results in both of them gaining outfits resembling Captain Atomic's costume, alongside superpowers and, in AP's case, a more humanoid form.
* HenshinHero: Neither of them have superpowers until they perform their FusionDance, also gaining their costume in the process.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: An ordinary 12-year-old kid and a superhero-turned-sock puppet who is implied to be at least in his 30s.
* LetsGetDangerous: They may be some dorky kid and his egotistical talking sock puppet, but make no mistake -- when the bad guys are out and about, '''it's atomic time.''' And even despite the complications their dynamic presents to them (especially in early episodes), their ability to save the day together is impeccable.
* MegatonPunch: One of their most frequently used abilities inherited from Captain Atomic is the Atomic Punch, which is essentially this.
* OddFriendship: A boy is friends with a hand puppet who used to be a superhero. Yep, they qualify.
* ThePowerOfFriendship: A keystone trope of their dynamic. Joey and AP are both only able to save Mega City by working together due to the respective circumstances. As a result, their ability to maintain a friendship is key to their crimefighting skills -- something that becomes more evident as the series goes on as their friendship grows from one of mere convenience to something more genuine.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Their costume combines red, blue, and yellow to create an outfit very similar to that of Captain Atomic.
* RedOniBlueOni: The aggressive, egotistical, and hot-tempered AP is the Red Oni to the friendlier, more humble, and much more grounded Joey.
* RudeHeroNiceSidekick: The smug and short-tempered AP is the Rude Hero to the eager and good-natured Joey's Nice Sidekick.
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: The feisty, short-tempered, and prideful AP is the Manly Man to the more sincere, friendly, and somewhat goofy Joey's Sensitive Guy. Significantly however, Joey's Sensitive Guy qualities play a major role in pulling AP down to earth, as Joey's keener self-awareness and more realistic worldview allows him to play TheStraightMan to AP, who in turn (reluctantly at first) mentors Joey in the ways of being a superhero.
* SpinAttack: One of their most common combat moves is the Atomic Windmill, in which Joey swings his AP-holding arm around, creating a swirling vortex of energy.
* SuperStrength: One of their main powers inherited from Captain Atomic. They're powerful enough to effortlessly pick up trucks, buildings, statues, and much, much more, even ''pushing the Moon'' in one episode.
* VictoryPose: The duo performs these whenever they win a battle or accomplish something. Sometimes they're big and dynamic, other times, they're as small as a simple fist bump. Occasionally other characters join them too.

A 12-year-old fanboy of Captain Atomic and longtime avid consumer of superhero comics, Joey is an excitable and good-natured kid who is utterly ecstatic to be the successor and partner of Captain Atomic (now a sock puppet known as AP). Able to reactivate AP's lost powers by placing him on his hand, Joey is determined to prove himself worthy of fighting alongside his favorite superhero and show him Atomic Puppet can be a worthy successor to the Captain.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3Lum71WsH4 See their video profile here.]]
----
* AnimeHair: He has a pretty large spiky hairdo. Lampshaded on a few occasions, with AP even complaining in one episode that Joey tends to take long showers due to how much hair he has to wash.
* AscendedFanboy: He was Captain Atomic's biggest fan, and now he not only lives with him, but he gets to fight crime alongside him too.
* BewareTheNiceOnes: He's a pretty friendly kid and always willing to help others when necessary, but when the bad guys threaten those he cares about, they can expect to have their asses handed in hard.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He cares a lot about his family, but he's shown to be especially protective of his little sister Abbie. In ""Something Chicken", his first act upon realizing the Werechicken is real is to hide Abbie from the monster, and in "Snow Maniac", he immediately rushes to rescue her when his plan to use wind turbines against the eponymous villain ends up endangering her.
* CharacterDevelopment: A little more subtle than AP’s, but Joey is much more heroic and confident in the later episodes compared to the earlier ones as he gets used to the superhero life and gets AP to accept his new existence.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: He was initially presented as a mild CloudCuckoolander, but this is largely dropped early on to have him better play as TheStraightMan to AP.
* ConsultingMisterPuppet: Joey typically makes sure to bring AP along whenever he goes out. It's more justified than most examples, since otherwise he can't turn into a superhero to save the day.
* CoolBigBro: Episodes like "Something Chicken" and "Snow Maniac" show him to have a very good relationship with Abbie. In the latter episode for instance, he happily listens to her story about helping Atomic Puppet defeat the Snow Maniac
* DeadpanSnarker: Sometimes becomes this when interacting with AP. Take this exchange between them in "Brawl-For-All!" after they accidentally destroy the art museum when defeating a giant bug monster.
-->'''AP:''' Listen, you can't get your skivvies in a twist over a couple of ruined drawings.
-->'''Joey:''' Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?
-->'''AP:''' Ah, c'mon. Back in my wilder days, this happened to me all the time. All we gotta do is raise some money to pay for the damage.
-->'''Joey:''' Right. Like it's that easy. What are we gonna do? Hold a bake sale?
-->'''AP:''' ''Well, aren't we Mr. Sarcastic?''
* DistressedDude: In several episodes, like "Erlenmeyer's Revenge", "Worm Boy", and "Private Proton", Joey falls into the clutches of one of the villains, forcing AP to team up with Pauline in order to save the day.
* EmbarrassingNickname: His mother calls him "Jo-Jo".
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: He's shown to be a pretty competent hero when not in superhero form, but he becomes an even better crimefighter whenever he puts AP on his hand.
* TheEveryman: He's an ordinary kid granted the privilege of being a superhero thanks to unexpected events involving his favorite hero. As a result, his reactions and remarks about the situations he and AP are put in tend to be more from the perspective of an eager but inexperienced 12-year-old kid, often expressing more realistic expectations and a greater sense of self-awareness than AP.
* {{Fanboy}}: He loves superheroes in general, but above all else, he's a fan of Captain Atomic. Seriously, his room is ''filled'' with Captain Atomic memorabilia.
* {{Foil}}: His status as Captain Atomic’s sidekick makes him one to Mookie. Whereas Mookie was a useless and incompetent sidekick who Captain Atomic never needed to help save the day, Joey putting AP on his hand to reactivate his powers is literally the only way Captain Atomic can save the day now. Additionally, Mookie is obsessed with being respected and adored as a hero by all of Mega City to the point of conducting EngineeredHeroics, while Joey is pretty happy with just having the privilege of helping Captain Atomic fight crime and the occasional acknowledgement of their feats. These differences reflect Captain Atomic’s attitude towards them, as he found Mookie to be mostly annoying and pathetic, but over the course of 26 episodes, gains a genuine respect for Joey and comes to accept him as a true partner instead of a mere sidekick.
* FutureBadass: In the BadFuture presented in the ChristmasEpisode, [[spoiler:although he gets killed by Professor Tite-Gripp.]]
-->'''AP:''' Woah! So much for having "spaghetti arms"!
* HeroicHost: Joey essentially acts as this to AP, as the only way the latter is able to regain his old superpowers and continue protecting Mega City is by being placed on Joey (and only Joey's) hand.
* HypercompetentSidekick: AP's ability to fight crime rests almost entirely on Joey. And given that without his powers, AP is little more than a grouchy, self-centered manchild without his superpowers, Joey acts as the more down-to-earth of the duo despite his inexperience with the superhero life.
* InsistentTerminology: Joey is ''not'' AP's sidekick, he's his ''partner''. And while AP is unwilling to accept this at first, he does eventually come around.
* InstantCostumeChange: Joey's superhero costume is the result of him putting AP on his hand, so it may be a case of ClothesMakeTheSuperman.
* ItMustBeMine: As a massive Captain Atomic fanboy, this is how he feels about his Captain Atomic action figure collection. Once he finds out there's a 133rd action figure, he immediately does everything he can to get it, up to and including fighting Mintenberg's giant boxer robot.
* {{Keet}}: He's a very eager kid, especially if it involves anything related to his fanboy obsession for Captain Atomic or the other superheroes.
* KidHero: He's 12 and basically the next Captain Atomic, since AP is only capable of so much without him.
* KidSidekick: What he technically is to AP, but as he always points out, he's really AP's partner.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: His more naive, humble, and excitable nature makes him the Feminine Boy to the cocky, tenacious, and savvy Pauline's Masculine Girl.
* MeaningfulName: Kid named "Felt" gets a superpowered puppet. [[SarcasmMode What are the odds]]?
* NaiveNewcomer: In contrast to AP's veteran status as a superhero, Joey is relatively new to the whole thing, having had no direct exposure to life as a crimefighter (being a fan of something is different from actually working in that something, after all). As a result, he tends to react more realistically to the crazy and dangerous things he and AP encounter.
* NiceGuy: He's a lot friendlier, humbler, and more polite than AP and also really cares about his friends and family.
* NoodlePeople: According to AP anyway, who is bothered by his "spaghetti arms".
* NotSoAboveItAll: He’s generally TheStraightMan to AP, but given that he’s a 12-year-old superhero fanboy, he is prone to getting goofy from time to time, especially if it involves anything related to his Captain Atomic fanboyism.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: His real name is Joseph, but the only person who ever calls him that regularly is Princess War Tickle.
* SecretIdentity: Joey has to keep it secret from the rest of Mega City that he and AP are Atomic Puppet, with the only civilian aware of this being his best friend Pauline [[spoiler:(and his dad Phil as of the Season 1 finale).]]
* SecretKeeper: Joey keeps the unfortunate event of Captain Atomic's transformation a secret from the rest of Mega City, letting the citizens of Mega City believe Captain Atomic has "vanished" and that Atomic Puppet is his stand-in and successor.
* TheStraightMan: To AP, since Joey serves to deflate AP's ego by being the only way for him to reuse his old superpowers. He often has the kinds of reactions one would expect from a regular person rooming with an egotistical talking sock puppet who used to be the world's greatest superhero.
* WellDoneSonGuy: A notable recurring element of the series is his relationship with his dad Phil, who wants to teach Joey the ways of being a real man and wishes that his son would stop "playing with that stupid sock". This comes to head in "The Big Shift" when Phil finally admits to Joey of his dislike for Captain Atomic and tells him he should be admiring Atomic Puppet instead. [[spoiler:This of course leads to the climax of the episode when Joey reveals to his dad he is Atomic Puppet.]]
* YouthfulFreckles: A couple, although they're not visible in superhero form.

A feisty and tenacious talking sock puppet who was formerly the mighty Captain Atomic, Mega City's greatest superhero and protector of over 30 years. Although he has been stripped of his superpowers and celebrity status by his transformation, AP retains all his pride and hotheadedness. And after years of taking on every supervillain entirely on his own, he finds it difficult to accept that he now must rely on Joey in order to continue defending his beloved city.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWdXrHdQ8Ow See their video profile here.]]
----
* ActionHero: His typical method of dealing with almost any problem is with a good old beatdown followed by giving said problem a one-way trip to the Sun.
* AffectionateNickname: AP is intended to be short for "Atomic Puppet".
* AmbiguouslyBi: AP has shown interest in women several times, but his friendships with Travis and the Justice Alliance are loaded with HoYay.
* AnimateInanimateObject: Despite now being a sock puppet, Captain Atomic can still walk, talk, blink, and even consume food.
* AwesomeEgo: InUniverse. Even despite being a massive SmugSuper, Captain Atomic was called the World's Greatest Superhero by his fans for a reason. He successfully defended Mega City for over 30 years, could defeat any threat to the citizens entirely on his own, was admired even by his fellow superheroes in the Justice Alliance, and became a massive celebrity more popular than any other hero on the planet. Ultimately deconstructed, as his transformation into AP has taken everything from him except his enormous sense of pride, leaving him as little more than an arrogant jerk who must accept Joey's friendship in order to reclaim any shred of his former greatness.
* BerserkButton: AP's a pretty short-tempered guy, but nothing pushes his buttons quite like hitting him in his personal insecurities.
** Being reminded of what he lost from being transformed into a sock puppet will instantly cause his swagger and ego to melt away and reveal his bitterness and humiliation. "Hero's Holiday" and "Worm Boy" are excellent demonstrations of this, but "Private Proton" also has a memorable scene of him having an emotional breakdown as he stares at the mirror in Joey's bedroom, with Joey's Captain Atomic headboard just over him.
** ''Never'' say around him that Captain Atomic "abandoned" Mega City. While he is quick to take offense at the usage of the term in "Hero's Holiday" despite its context, he is absolutely ''furious'' in "The Big Shift" when Phil and The Mayor both use the word to describe his "disappearance". The only thing preventing him from outright revealing to the world of the truth is that it would force him to admit he was transformed into a sock puppet by Mookie, which he considers even more humiliating.
* BlackAndWhiteMorality: Early episodes show him as having this kind of understanding of the world, thanks to his life as a superhero. For example, in "Atomic Detention", he becomes convinced Joey's mean teacher is actually a supervillain simply for her harsh punishments and does everything in his power to thwart her "villainy", only to make things worse for Joey. He largely sheds this later on, being less likely to view every {{Jerkass}} or morally ambiguous character who inconveniences him and Joey as a full-blown evildoer to be thrown into the Sun at a moment's notice.
* BloodKnight: While he does genuinely care about protecting Mega City and its citizens, he also likes to fight the bad guys because of the sheer enjoyment he gets out of pummeling villains.
* BreakTheHaughty: His transformation into a sock puppet was a big one for him after years of celebrity status among the people of Mega City. He slowly learns to accept his new lot in life over the series, but even then, it's not an easy road for him.
-->'''Commander Cavalier:''' Let's say I've taken the time to make him a miniature Santa suit. What would the odds be that he'd flip out and say we're treating him like a baby?
-->'''Joey:''' Probably pretty good. I know how you feel. Every time I think he's finally getting used to being Atomic Puppet, something happens that sends him into a rage.
* BroughtDownToBadass: Captain Atomic may no longer be able to use his superpowers as AP (except when Joey is involved), but that doesn't stop him from being able to stand up against most of his enemies.
-->'''AP:''' Puppet or not, I still got it!
* {{Buttmonkey}}: Most of the slapstick in the show happens to him since he's a sock puppet.
* CaptainSuperhero: Used to go by the name of Captain Atomic.
* CelebritySuperhero: Many flashbacks of his time as Captain Atomic depict him as this. He rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous, signed autographs for the citizens of Mega City, merchandised the absolute loving heck out of his name (even having his own comic book series), and even hosted big events like barbecues, parties, and charity wrestling matches.
* CharacterDevelopment: '''Big time.''' As the series goes on, AP shows a lot more respect towards Joey and a more sensitive side as he slowly learns to accept his new powerless existence. Perhaps the best demonstration of this is how in early episodes (such as "Sword Sisters", "Soft Spot", and "Justice Alliance"), he absolutely refuses to call Joey his partner, but in later episodes (like "Hero Hall of Fame", "Private Proton", and "Worm Boy"), he is much more willing to use the word.
* CompanionCube: Is sorta one to Joey, but also has one himself in the form of Travis, a Ken-like doll owned by Abbie. As he explains, it's because they're both epitomes of masculinity trapped in the bodies of kids' toys.
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Of the SmugSuper. As Captain Atomic, he possessed a massive ego and an extremely high opinion of himself, on account of being an international celebrity admired by thousands (including his fellow superheroes) and having defeated countless monsters and villains single-handedly. However, he mistreated his BumblingSidekick Mookie as a result of his arrogance and reputation, subsequently being transformed into AP when Mookie got fed up with living under his shadow and betrayed him. Now reduced to a mere sock puppet, the former Captain Atomic is left as little more than a narcissistic, immature hothead without his superpowers, forcing him to swallow his pride for the first time in his life and accept Joey's help.
* {{Determinator}}: Captain Atomic generally doesn't let the fact he is now a sock puppet stop him from trying to thwart evil (the few instances he does are when his insecurities over being a powerless sock puppet get the better of him). "Pinched Nerves" is an excellent demonstration of this, as with Joey taking a TenMinuteRetirement from superheroing, AP spends the whole episode working to track a criminal on the loose and stop him entirely by himself. To paraphrase him, "evil never takes a sick day".
* EquippableAlly: Putting him on Joey's hand transforms both of them into superpowered versions of each other.
* {{Expy}}: He bore a strong resemblance to ComicBook/CaptainAmerica back when he was Captain Atomic.
* FlyingBrick: Which Captain Atomic passed on to Atomic Puppet.
* GenreSavvy: Owing to his 30+ year experience as a superhero, AP is very savvy with superhero stuff and is always able to explain its particulars to Joey. However, he often seems to forget that a lot of his knowledge is more effective when you're ''not'' a talking sock puppet forced to rely on a 12-year-old kid to help you save the day, often getting him and Joey into tricky situations or making fights more challenging than they'd normally be for him. Additionally, he also frequently forgets that what applies to the life of a superhero does not apply to life for a normal kid in a normal family (see ProperlyParanoid for more info).
* GoodIsNotNice: Sure, AP will save you from any threat, but don't expect him to be particularly polite about it.
* GoodIsNotSoft: Except for that one time he got a big dose of fabric softener and became a gentle pacifist.
* HairTriggerTemper: Annoy him? Have a fun trip to the sun!
* HandPuppet: Thanks to Mookie, although as far as everyone else knows, Captain Atomic just "mysteriously vanished".
* HurlItIntoTheSun: His preferred method of dealing with problems. In early episodes, he frequently tells Joey of his interest in eliminating minor everyday inconveniences like a bothersome pet cat, a harsh teacher, or a nosy neighbor through this method, but largely drops the schtick later on in favor of saving it solely for actual threats to Mega City (usually dangerous objects and giant monsters).
* ImprovisedParachute: AP is used as one sometimes since he's a sock puppet. Has saved Joey's life on more than one occasion.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He has an incredibly high opinion of himself and greatly admires any depictions of himself, even as a puppet. And while it does make him pretty self-centered early on, he does become somewhat less arrogant in later episodes.
* {{Jerkass}}: Starts off this way, as seen in episodes like "Sick Day" and "Atomic Detention". In these early episodes, he's usually at best a reluctant partner of Joey insensitive to the kid's needs (not that he even likes calling Joey his partner), constantly refuses to accept the blame for any problems he causes, and always threatens to throw people into the Sun over petty things. CharacterDevelopment however causes him to become a...
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While AP remains short-tempered and prideful throughout the whole series, we also see more of his gentler side. Not only does it become clear that he truly loves Mega City and is hurt at the idea its citizens believe he abandoned them, he also becomes much more sympathetic and friendly towards Joey and shows more of his insecure and sensitive side as he learns to accept his new life as a powerless talking puppet.
* LanternJawOfJustice: As Captain Atomic. He still has shades of it as a puppet.
* LaserGuidedKarma: The entire premise of the series is that Captain Atomic was transformed into AP as a result of his arrogance leading him to mistreat his incompetent sidekick Mookie, and as a result, now finds himself in a predicament where the only way he can save the day is through his KidSidekick.
* TheLeader: Was this to the Justice Alliance before he got turned into AP.
* LifeOfTheParty: Considers himself to be one. He threw some absolutely amazing parties back in his Captain Atomic days and absolutely hates the idea of being left out of any party.
* ManChild: He may have been protecting Mega City for over 30 years, but he sure doesn't act that way. For example, he tends to get comically overemotional over various things, such as when Joey starts hanging out with Mookie in "Private Proton".
-->'''AP:''' Don't worry AP, he'll be back. ''(pauses and starts wailing)'' Oh, who am I kidding? No, he won't! Just look at me! I was once the world's greatest superhero, and now I'm nothing but a lousy, handsome puppet! ''(starts crying to himself)''
* MeanBoss: Was this to Mookie before being turned into a sock puppet. He was overly critical and dismissive of his sidekick, having next to no patience for his bumbling and never working with him as a team (he avoids being an outright BadBoss though by virtue of never physically abusing Mookie or treating him as disposable cannon fodder). While he defends his actions in "The Big Shift" to Mookie as "trying to make him a better hero", the series makes it pretty evident their toxic relationship played a huge role in Mookie's betrayal and calls AP out for it multiple times.
* TheNapoleon: Not as Captain Atomic, but for a little sock puppet, AP sure is feisty, since he's still got the ego of Captain Atomic.
* {{Narcissist}}: He is very, very, ''very'' fond of his image and reputation. As Joey semi-jokingly said in "Hero Hall of Fame", "If you know the Captain, you know nothing makes him happier than people talking about him".
* NeverMyFault: Very prone to this, especially in earlier episodes, as he's too egotistical to ever admit to causing a problem.
* NoodleIncident: How he got transformed from a superhero to a sock puppet is never fully explained. Joey claims "it's a crazy story" in "Justice Alliance", and AP can be seen shaking his head as if to ask Joey not to tell it.
* {{Objectshifting}}: The entire premise of the show is that he's Mega City's greatest superhero reduced to the form of a powerless talking sock puppet.
* OneManArmy: As Captain Atomic, he was able to singlehandedly deal with every threat to Mega City. "Bend It Like Joey" shows a good example of this, as he was able to take on alien invaders entirely by himself (albeit in soccer games). The fact that he now needs Joey to do anything and succeed is something he finds difficult to accept.
* {{Pride}}: Captain Atomic's most significant character trait is his ego, which he retains even as a puppet.
* ProperlyParanoid: Due to his experiences as a superhero, he's always the first to suspect if somebody is secretly a villain, and more often than not, he's proven right. ''However'', this quality only really pays off for him when he's up to superhero stuff; in Joey's home life, it only ends up causing trouble, as seen with his one-sided rivalry with the family cat Bubbles and the entirety of the episode "Atomic Detention".
* PungeonMaster: Frequently makes a pun after defeating a villain, much to Joey's annoyance.
* PuppetPermutation: Thanks to Mookie, although how it was done is unexplained.
* SeenItAll: AP is greatly experienced with life as a superhero, so he tends not be fazed by the dangers he and Joey face every day as Atomic Puppet and is always able to explain to Joey what they need to do against a threat.
* SmugSuper: Captain Atomic was extremely smug, and as AP, he retains his gargantuan ego and self-centered attitude. He does get better as the show goes on, but even then, he's still
a pretty prideful guy from start to finish.
* WasOnceAMan: The World's Greatest Superhero, now reduced to a talking sock puppet.
* WrongGenreSavvy: AP is shown to be rather out of touch with how non-superhero individuals live, often mistakenly applying his superhero experiences to Joey’s life, especially in early episodes. “Sick Day” and “Atomic Detention” are good examples of this.

Joey's best friend and the only person in Mega City with more obsessed with superhero comic books than he is. She works at the local comic book shop Cosmic Comix, which happens to be owned by her uncle. Confident but impulsive, Pauline is the only civilian who knows that Joey is Atomic Puppet and that AP was formerly Captain Atomic, so she often helps them fight the bad guys -- even despite having nothing more than her sassy attitude and quick wits.\

----
* ADayInTheLimelight: "Sword Sisters" gives her quite a bit of focus, particularly regarding her place as Joey's MuggleBestFriend and the show's resident HeroicBystander.
* BadassAdorable: Pretty dang cute and just as capable of helping Atomic Puppet take out the bad guys. Even moreso as Sword Sister naturally.
* BadassNormal: Although she has no superpowers (except when she became Sword Sister), she's usually clever and spunky enough to stand toe on toe with most of the show's villains.
* BerserkButton: As seen in "Sword Sisters", Pauline hates being called a sidekick and being told she can't be a hero. When AP drops the latter on her, she's quick to get up to his face and warn him not to push it. She also gave Professor Tite-Gripp a hell of a beating for dismissing her as Atomic Puppet's sidekick.
* BirdsOfAFeather: She and Joey are basically the two biggest superhero nerds in their school and probably all of Mega City. No wonder they're such good friends.
* BoyishShortHair: It's colored [[PinkMeansFeminine pink]] though.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Her first appearance, "Atomic Detention", presented her as an example of WomenAreWiser to Joey and AP's wacky shenanigans, but starting from "Sword Sisters" (and especially in the second half of the show), she was characterized more as Joey's sassier and more impulsive female counterpart and the duo's most dependable ally.
* CoolUncle: According the the show's official website, she has one. He's the owner of Cosmic Comix, the comic book shop she works at, and taught her everything she knows about superheroes (which is ''everything'').
* DeadpanSnarker: She's very sassy, so naturally, she often crosses over into this territory.
-->'''Joey:''' If my parents show up, cover for me.
-->'''Pauline:''' Don't I always...
* DistaffCounterpart: To Joey. Both Joey and Pauline are major comic book nerds and superhero fans who serve as the {{Kid Sidekick}}s of AP (usually when Joey is in need of rescue in Pauline's case), sharing the same eagerness for helping him fight villains. But Pauline differs in being much more outspoken, cocky, and headstrong than Joey, making her a bit like AP personality-wise. As a result, she's much more likely to butt heads with AP than Joey is when the two are working together.
* {{Foil}}: She plays this role to both Joey an AP.
** As Joey's DistaffCounterpart, Pauline is a massive superhero comic book nerd who is always ready to help AP save the day. However, her temperament is much fiercer and more outspoken than Joey's, almost like that of AP's. Additionally, as seen in "Sword Sisters", while she may have the personality traits of a great HeroicBystander, she lacks the ability to handle having actual superpowers -- in sharp contrast to Joey, who despite his softer personality, is able to handle transforming into Atomic Puppet every day thanks to the events that turned Captain Atomic into AP.
** Like AP, Pauline is short-tempered, impulsive, proud, headstrong, and tenacious, but whereas AP is such to the degree that he's a SmugSuper who has to learn a little humility throughout the show after spending his whole life as a CelebritySuperhero, Pauline's more mundane life ensures she's still grounded and has a much more realistic understanding of herself. Additionally, whereas the whole premise of the series is of AP having lost his superpowers and thus getting his ego deflated, "Sword Sisters" depicts Pauline ''gaining'' superpowers and going mad as a result. Thus, while AP is little more than a pathetic, immature narcissist without superpowers and thus must rely on Joey to save the day, Pauline's bravery, cleverness, and spunky attitude already gives her everything she needs to be Joey's best friend and greatest ally despite having no superpowers.
* TheGadfly: She has no problem with pushing AP's buttons and is not above applying this attitude towards the villains she helps Atomic Puppet fight.
* HeroicBystander: She's just a regular 12-year-old girl with no superpowers and no special skills. She is however brave, confident, tough, and resourceful enough that whenever she's around and a threat to Mega City has made itself to known, she'll take action. There's a reason why she's listed among the show's "Heroes" on the official website instead of being one of the "Citizens of Mega City".
* ImprobableAge: Although she's only 12, she already has a job at the local comic book store, though it's somewhat justified by the fact her uncle owns the place.
* KidSidekick: She fulfills this role to AP whenever Joey is a DistressedDude (as seen in “Worm Boy”, “Erlenmeyer’s Revenge”, and “Private Proton”). However, she and AP don’t have quite the level of teamwork Joey has with him.
* LastNameBasis: Usually calls Joey "Felt". And in a slight variation, she usually calls AP “Puppet”.
* MasculineGirlFeminineBoy: Her savvy, confident, and assertive personality makes her the Masculine Girl to the more naive, reactive, and gentle-natured Joey's Feminine Boy.
* MuggleBestFriend: She serves this role to Joey and AP.
-->'''Joey''': If only we had a ''non-superhero friend'' who could help us. ''(he and AP smile)''
-->'''Pauline (smiling):''' ''[[SarcasmMode Very subtle]]'', Felt.
* NoodlePeople: While Joey's a pretty scrawny kid with "spaghetti arms", Pauline's basically designed like a walking noodle. The fact her waistline is generally hidden by the length of her shirt helps with the image.
* PlatonicLifePartners: She and Joey are the best of friends, and they've known each other since they were in preschool. The breakup of their friendship in the ChristmasEpisode's BadFuture is a major turning point for Joey in that timeline.
* RedOniBlueOni: Like AP, she's proud, stubborn, and quick-tempered, making her the Red Oni to the more modest and sensible Joey's Blue Oni.
* SecretKeeper: She is the only civilian who knows about Joey's secret identity and what happened to Captain Atomic.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: She and AP often form this dynamic whenever Joey's not in the picture, due to the fact Pauline's personality is in many ways very similar to a toned down version of AP's.
-->'''AP:''' [[SarcasmMode Just what I needed!]] Another kid telling me what to do!

!! As Sword Sister
* ActionGirl: What she starts as. In her very first fight, she absolutely curb-stomps Professor Tite-Gripp.
** DarkActionGirl: What she turns into as the Sword of Enlightenment's power corrupts her. Even when driven mad by the sword's power, she manages to fight the mighty Princess War Tickle on even ground.
* AlliterativeName: '''S'''word '''S'''ister
* BadassCape: She wears a maroon-colored cape as part of her costume.
* BigDamnHeroes: Her introduction is saving Joey and AP from Professor Tite-Gripp by slicing up a car he threw at them before [[CurbStompBattle defeating Tite-Gripp in about a minute]].
* {{Catchphrase}}: "Sword Sister is ready to rock!". Though she only says it once, AP calls it a catchphrase.
* CoolHelmet: A winged one that looks sorta like Princess War Tickle's, although it also incorporates elements of her beanie into its design.
* DrunkWithPower: Thanks to the Sword of Enlightenment driving her crazy. While she becomes powerful enough that she defeats Professor Tite-Gripp entirely on her own and then thrashes a small army worth of criminals, she also starts doing things like sending a car flying for failing to stop at a sign and chasing people around with her sword for petty things like not recycling their garbage properly.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Her eyes glow pink when the sword's power drives her mad.
* RollerbladeGood: She dorns a pair of golden roller skates as part of her costume and proves quite mobile in them.
* SuperpowersForADay: The whole point of the Sword Sister episode is seeing Pauline go from a BadassNormal HeroicBystander to an actual superhero, thanks to a magical power-stealing sword. While she shows the guts and courage of a hero as always, she can't handle the sheer power and it ends up corrupting her. It takes Joey and AP teaming up with the sword's original owner, Princess War Tickle, to restore her to normal. And while Pauline is disappointed that she has to give up her powers, Princess War Tickle praises her as worthy of a hero.
-->'''Princess War Tickle:''' Thou showeth great promise, Pauline. Using powers is easy, but giving it up is the true test.
* TemporarilyAVillain: While she sought to use the Sword of Enlightenment to be a true superhero and not just a HeroicBystander, Pauline is driven mad by the sword's power and turns into a violent extremist. Ultimately, Princess War Tickle has to show up and take her sword back to restore Pauline to normal.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: On the receiving end, thanks to the Sword of Enlightenment. Pauline may have the spunk and bravery of a superhero, but that doesn't mean she can handle having actual superpowers.
-->'''Pauline:''' I guess the power of the sword kinda got to me.
-->'''Princess War Tickle:''' Verily. But powers alone do not make one strong, youngling.
* WonderWomanWannabe: Her costume is meant to resemble that of the series' resident WonderWomanWannabe, Princess War Tickle. And like Princess War Tickle, Pauline's Sword Sister outfit has the same Greco-Roman Amazon warrior princess theme as Wonder Woman or Series/{{Xena|WarriorPrincess}}.

A team of superheroes tasked with defending the greater galaxy from their flying skyscraper headquarters. Captain Atomic was formerly their leader, but following his "disappearance", Atomic Puppet has joined the gang as their newest member (despite some initial reluctance from AP). They are composed of:\
\
Commander Cavalier, a dashingly handsome (if exceptionally self-admiring) hero with heat vision powers whose perfectly bronzed muscles are only matched in size by his heart of gold. As the former second-in-command to Captain Atomic, he has taken the reins of leader of the Justice Alliance in his absence.\
\
Robo-Ron, a cyborg superhero who communicates entirely through robotic beatbox. While he doesn't have much in the way of strength compared to the others, his genius intellect gives him a knack for developing a wide variety of gadgets and full knowledge of the Justice Alliance headquarters' inner workings.\
\
Crimson Beacon, a red superhero with fiery hair who never says a word. While not much is known about him personality-wise, he has become the new second-in-command of the Justice Alliance and can conjure almost any tool imaginable using the red energy spheres equipped to his wrists.\

----
!! Commander Cavalier
* AchillesHeel: Reflective surfaces because he can't stop admiring himself. Show him a mirror and he'll instantly stop to take a look at his own physique.
* AlliterativeName: '''C'''ommander '''C'''avalier.
* AmbiguouslyGay: He acts and looks somewhat camp and is often seen with his arm hoisted around Crimson Beacon's shoulder (and even holding hands with him) for unclear reasons.
* ChestInsignia: The only thing on his chest.
* {{Expy}}: Of Franchise/{{Superman}}. AP briefly mentioned that he came from another planet and his primary ability is heat vision. His obsession with his appearance also brings to mind ComicBook/BoosterGold.
* EyeBeams: His main superpower.
* FlyingBrick: Much like Captain Atomic.
* HairOfGoldHeartOfGold: As if to match the colour of his body and hair, he's got the biggest heart of gold of all the superheroes in the show.
* HumanAliens: If AP is to be believed.
* TheLancer: Formerly of the Justice Alliance to Captain Atomic. Has become the leader with Captain Atomic's transformation into AP.
* {{Narcissist}}: He is incredibly obsessed with his good looks and will always take the opportunity to admire himself in a mirror. Despite that however, he's a very nice person and a fairly competent superhero.
* NiceGuy: Despite his infatuation with his own good looks, he's extremely friendly and kindhearted in contrast to the smug and short-tempered Captain Atomic.
* TopHeavyGuy: Huge chest, small waist.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: To show off his chiseled body. Whenever he does wear a shirt, he still has his chest exposed.

!! Robo-Ron
* AchillesHeel: Nanobots short-circuit him.
* CyberCyclops: Has a single purple robotic visor-shaped eye.
* {{Cyborg}}: Never explicitly called one, but his appearance makes it obvious he is.
* DoAnythingRobot: For a cyborg superhero, he has a lot of gadgets that seem rather unpractical, like a phonograph and windshield wipers.
* {{Expy}}: Of [[ComicBook/TeenTitans Cyborg]] for obvious reasons, with some elements of Franchise/{{Robocop}}.
* GadgeteerGenius: Most of the Justice Alliance's special weapons and tools are of his design.
* MyBrainIsBig: Contained in a large purple tank above his head.
* TheSmartGuy: Of the Justice Alliance.
* TheUnintelligible: Speaks entirely in robotic beatbox.
** IntelligibleUnintelligible: Everyone can still understand what he says despite that.
* WeakButSkilled: He is considered to be the least powerful member of the Justice Alliance, but compensates with his super-genius intellect and variety of gadgets.

!! Crimson Beacon
* AchillesHeel: His Green Lantern-esque powers mean prisms neutralize his abilities.
* {{Expy}}: Of Franchise/GreenLantern, as seen in his name and powers. His appearance does bring to mind ComicBook/{{Firestorm|DCComics}} for some, however.
* FlamingHair: It's been extinguished on several occasions.
* FlatCharacter: Due to the fact he never talks, pretty much nothing can be said about him in terms of his personality.
* TheLancer: Has taken on the role after Commander Cavalier's promotion to leader of the Justice Alliance.
* RedIsHeroic: Technically, it's crimson.
* TheVoiceless: Has never spoken a word.

A mighty Amazonian superheroine of incredible power and beauty. Despite her silly name, Princess War Tickle is the only hero who outstrips Captain Atomic in power, much to the latter's chagrin. Wielding the Sword of Enlightenment, she is tasked with guarding the multiverse from her floating palace in the Everrealm.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbiq6xi2yhg See their video profile here.]]
----
* ActionGirl: Considered one of the most powerful superheroes and has certainly proven it more than once.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: The reason why AP can't stand her.
-->'''Pauline:''' I just got props from the greatest superhero of all time!
-->'''AP:''' You mean, second greatest.
-->'''War Tickle:''' Nope, she means greatest! You've got some catching up to do, Captain Atomic.
* AtrociousAlias: Her silly name doesn't stop her from being a total badass though.
* BattleCry: A very distinctive yodel that AP finds to be very annoying.
* BigGood: Is often seen as one amongst the superheroes with the disappearance of Captain Atomic.
* CoolHelmet: A winged one.
* CoolSword: The Sword of Enlightenment, which can steal power and is so strong that it can drive ordinary people who use it mad (as Pauline experienced).
* FloatingContinent: Her home. Think something like [[Franchise/WonderWoman Themyscira]] in space.
* GuardianOfTheMultiverse: Her duty, hence her ability to open portals.
* TheRival: To AP, who doesn't like her very much since she's the only superhero considered by the people to be greater than he is. War Tickle, on the other hand, merely finds AP to be somewhat obnoxious.
* VitriolicBestBuds: AP even refers her as "an old frenemy".
* WonderWomanWannabe: She has a lot of Wonder Woman's characteristics, such as her strength, her weapons, her Amazon-like appearance, and her Greco-Roman aesthetics, although one can also draw parallels to Series/{{Xena|WarriorPrincess}}.
* YeOldeButcheredeEnglishe: Her manner of speaking.

The former sidekick of Captain Atomic. Mookie (or Sergeant Subatomic, the Nuclear Boy, as he prefers to be known) was the one who turned Captain Atomic into AP after years of jealousy and bitterness from living in his shadow and being dismissed by everyone for his uselessness to the Captain. Still disgruntled with his failed betrayal, he dreams of being lauded as a superhero in his own right, but lacks the skills, charisma, and ethics to be a true paragon of justice.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cwru8YtXXJc See their video profile here.]]
----
* BasementDweller: His "secret lair" is his mother's basement (he used to have Captain Atomic's old lair, but he accidentally destroyed it).
* BerserkButton: Hates being called Mookie. As he typically says whenever someone calls him by his name, "It's Sergeant Subatomic!"
* BigBadWannabe: Is the reason Captain Atomic became a puppet and seeks to replace Atomic Puppet as Mega City's protector, but at the same time, he's not seen as a villain by most people and is usually pretty inept. [[spoiler:This changes, however, once he has had enough of being belittled and humiliated by everyone, taking on several levels of badass and not only becoming a competent threat in the season 1 finale, but also gets to start working with Tite-Gripp directly after his defeat.]]
* BumblingSidekick: Used to be one for Captain Atomic, taking the brunt of Captain's arrogance and hotheadedness as a result.
-->'''Captain Atomic (in a flashback):''' You wanna surprise me? How about you take one step without screwing up?!
-->''(Mookie walks off hurt and muttering to himself)''
-->'''Hero of Holidays Past, Present, and Future (watching the flashback with AP):''' Oooh, harsh. And you wonder why he turned you into a puppet.
* ButtMonkey: Although treated as Atomic Puppet's rival, he tends to suffer a lot of misfortune, such as having a toilet seat glued to his butt, being used as a human shield, swelling like a balloon from swallowing a power crystal, and being caught naked in front of everyone in Mega City.
* CreateYourOwnHero: Atomic Puppet's partnership owes its very existence to him, as he was the one who turned Captain Atomic into AP.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: Captain Atomic's poor attitude towards Mookie was part of what drove him to try and steal his power in the first place. [[spoiler:Later on, the continued rejection and defeats from Mega City's people and Atomic Puppet respectively, turned him into a full-blown evildoer in "The Big Shift".]]
* DeconstructedCharacterArchetype: Of the BumblingSidekick. As seen in episodes like "Hero's Holiday", "Hero Hall of Fame", and "Bad Lair Day", Mookie was an incompetent and useless sidekick to Captain Atomic, never helping him save the day, constantly making mistakes, and generally embarrassing himself around Captain Atomic. As a result Captain Atomic was extremely hard on Mookie and treated him as laughingstock -- an attitude shared by the rest of Mega City. As a result of the humiliation he experienced and his envy at Captain Atomic's success and popularity, Mookie betrayed him and turned him into AP. And while his desire to be as lauded as Captain Atomic drives Mookie's schemes of EngineeredHeroics, he continues to be screwed over by his own incompetence and ridiculed by the rest of Mega City for it. [[spoiler:This comes to head in "The Big Shift" when being abused and belittled by everyone finally ends up making him snap, throw away the desire to be a hero and instead become a full-blown villain, which he proves surprisingly effective at.]]
* DistressedDude: Whenever his latest scheme to outdo Atomic Puppet turns against him. "Mookie's Got the Power" is a good example.
* DreadfulMusician: A minor RunningGag is his terrible music skills and how oblivious he is to them. He's so bad in fact that he was once able to drive everyone out of a party by simply coming in with a keyboard and playing it around all the partygoers.
* DrivenByEnvy: The primary reason why he tried to replace Captain Atomic and continues to try and overthrow Atomic Puppet is because he wants to prove to Mega City that he is actually the greatest hero the city has seen.
* EngineeredHeroics: Many of his schemes tend to revolve around this. Typically, he releases a monster or causes some damage that he pins on a villain before coming in to "rescue" Mega City, and thus become its hero. But due to his bumbling, he usually ends up having to be saved by Atomic Puppet instead.
* FallenHero: A downplayed example, as he's not considered a real villain until "The Big Shift" but even beforehand he wasn't exactly a paragon of justice.
* FatBastard: Quite pudgy and extremely egotistical and greedy.
* FatSlob: When he's at home. Joey and AP are pretty revolted when they accidentally stumble upon him like that.
* {{Foil}}: To Captain Atomic/AP. Back when they were a team, Captain Atomic was a beloved CelebritySuperhero able to protect Mega City all by himself with his array of superpowers and chiseled physique, while Mookie was his overweight and powerless BumblingSidekick ridiculed by everyone for his ineptness and never actually doing anything worthwhile to help protect Mega City. This ultimately led to the duo's poor relationship, which climaxed in Mookie turning Captain Atomic into AP. And as AP, the former Captain Atomic is forced to swallow his pride and accept humility as he now must rely on Joey to continue defending Mega City, while Mookie is driven by the pursuit of glory to feed his SmallNameBigEgo even despite his ineptness continuing to screw him over. By the end of the series, Captain Atomic's partnership with Joey has made him much less narcissistic, while Mookie [[spoiler:has fallen off the edge and gone into full-blown supervillain territory.]]
* GadgeteerGenius: He's shown to be capable of building a wide variety of inventions that he uses for his schemes, such as his utility belt and whatever he had used to turn Captain Atomic into AP.
* GagNose: A rotund orangey nose.
* GloryHound: He'll stop at nothing to prove to the citizens of Mega City that he's the hero they deserve instead, even if it means turning a superhero into a puppet or creating some villains of his own to defeat.
* GreenEyedMonster: His longtime bitterness towards the constant adulation that Captain Atomic received led him to try and take the glory for himself by turning Captain Atomic into a sock puppet.
* HarmlessVillain: Generally treated as one by AP. He usually lives up to it. [[spoiler:Not so much by the season 1 finale.]]
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: Barely considered a threat by Joey and AP for most of the series and generally incredibly inept, despite having successfully turned Captain Atomic into a puppet. [[spoiler:By the time of Season 1's finale, however, he successfully changes this and becomes a credible threat.]]
* {{Jerkass}}: He's self-centered, envious, bitter, and only interested in being venerated by the people of Mega City.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Mookie always tries to take the adoration and veneration of Mega City away from Atomic Puppet through schemes of EngineeredHeroics, only to be laughed at and humiliated in the end. "Hero Hall of Fame" is a good example, as Mookie tries to seize the opportunity for fame when Captain Atomic is inducted into the Hero Hall of Fame. Not only did Captain Atomic's fans hate him, but his plan to destroy the Captain Atomic statue with a bomb he built (and pinned on a supervillain he made up) ended up with him naked and being laughed at by them.
* TheLoad: Befitting of his BumblingSidekick status, Mookie never actually helped Captain Atomic with protecting Mega City. A montage in "Hero Hall of Fame" shows him arriving just after every instance of Captain Atomic saving the day to share the glory of the moment, while a statue of Captain Atomic fighting Mudman in "Claude Returns" depicts Mookie cowering behind the Captain as he battles the villain entirely by himself.
* MamasBoy: When not in costume, he relies on his scooter bike-bound mother to help him out heavily.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: Flashbacks show that Captain Atomic was overly-critical and dismissive of Mookie's efforts, which goes a long way towards explaining why Mookie became envious and turned against him. AP's been called out on this a few times.
-->'''Joey:''' And you wonder why he turned you into a puppet.
* NeverMyFault: Much like AP, Mookie refuses to acknowledge his part in the toxic nature of their partnership and rarely ever accepts the blame for whatever problems Mega City faces that day. In "The Big Shift", for instance, he lashes out at the people of Mega City for never accepting him as a hero, despite the fact that he's usually the one causing problems by using EngineeredHeroics so he can get credit for "saving" Mega City afterwards.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain / TookALevelInBadass: [[spoiler:Elevated to the position of one in "The Big Shift" when he quits the wannabe superhero act and gets sent to jail, where he teams up with Tite-Gripp.]]
* OlderThanTheyLook: Although he appears to be around 18, his actual age is apparently about 35.
* TheRival: To Atomic Puppet. Just barely.
* SecondaryColorNemesis: His purple costume works in contrast to Atomic Puppet's blue one.
* SmallNameBigEgo: In contrast to Captain Atomic, Mookie never quite lives up to his own self-perceived greatness, thanks to his incompetence and general uselessness around Captain Atomic.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: With Atomic Puppet in some episodes, such as "Atomic Goo" and "Parallel Puppet". However, even before Captain Atomic became AP, it's pretty clear he and Mookie brought out the worst in each other.
* UtilityBelt: It's what he uses to fly, although it doesn't always do what he wants.
* TheVillainKnowsWhereYouLive: Unlike all the other villains, he is fully aware of Atomic Puppet's secret identity and that AP is in fact Captain Atomic. He's even visited Joey's house a few times for various schemes.
* VillainTeamUp: With [[spoiler:Professor Tite-Gripp in the Season 1 finale.]]
* VillainousBreakdown: The entirety of "The Big Shift" is this for him, [[spoiler:as he transforms from being an ineffectual wannabe hero to an actual evildoer. It starts with the simple act of lashing out at Mega City and telling them he got rid of Captain Atomic by throwing him into the Sun, and climaxes in him becoming a sadistic, megalomaniacal psycho intent on destroying Mega City with his new PoweredArmour.]]
* VillainsWithGoodPublicity: Because nobody (except Joey and Pauline) is aware that Mookie was responsible for Captain Atomic's "disappearance", the townspeople see him mostly as just another superhero, albeit much, ''much'' less popular than Captain Atomic or the Justice Alliance. [[spoiler:Finally lifted from him in "The Big Shift" when he tells Mega City he destroyed Captain Atomic.]]

An evil genius who combines a cruel and calculating intellect with enormous mechanical arms of his own design that grant him superhuman strength. Professor Tite-Gripp was Captain Atomic's greatest enemy and among Mega City's most ruthless villains. Having been sentenced to life in prison not long before Captain Atomic became AP, he seeks to take advantage of his archnemesis' "disappearance" and eliminate Atomic Puppet so that Mega City can be his to ravage.\

----
* ADegreeInUseless: He's a professor in "opening things". Though in a slight twist, his degree is actually quite useful in his criminal activities -- opening bank vaults, prison cells, and his enemies' skulls.
* AmbiguouslyBrown: Very dark skin, but no clear confirmation. His face is pure white though, presumably face paint to imitate a skull.
* {{Archenemy}}: Was this to Captain Atomic. Even against Atomic Puppet, he's probably their biggest enemy who poses an actual threat to them.
* ArtificialLimbs: Both of his ginormous arms.
* ArtificialLimbsAreStronger: The source of his incredible strength is his mechanical arms, capable of crushing cars and digging holes in the sides of buildings.
* CardCarryingVillain: Takes a lot of delight in doing evil things and openly refers himself as the wickedest villain in Mega City.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: In later episodes, Joey and AP have gotten so used to his tendency to break his promises and fake his redemption that they've even used it against him.
* TheDreaded: The people of Mega City consider him the most fearsome villain of them all.
* EnemyMine: Joey and AP team up with him in "Atomic Weakness" to put an end to Chief Kevlar's power trip and destroy the power-draining meteorite (although they instead tell him it's the source of their powers since it would make no sense for him to want to destroy his enemy's weakness).
* EvilSoundsDeep: His voice, while normally calm, still carries a menacing air to it.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Although he acts calm and honorable, Tite-Gripp will always betray his words if it benefits him. For example, in his first appearance, he "promises" to Joey and AP that he is a reformed man when they have to free him to get AP out of a pickle jar. Tite-Gripp does open the jar, but immediately breaks out of his prison to terrorize Mega City.
* FutureBadass: In a vision of a BadFuture shown in "Hero's Holiday", he actually succeeded in conquering Mega City, [[spoiler:and even ''killed'' Joey]].
* GeniusBruiser: As his title of "professor" would indicate. He did build his inhumanly strong mechanical arms, after all.
* ILied: Tite-Gripp is endlessly fond of doing this to get the better of his enemies, though most of them wise up to it after their first deception. In "Atomic Weakness", it gets used against him when Joey and AP ask him to steal Chief Kevlar's power-draining meteorite and tell him it's the source of their powers, knowing that he would destroy it rather than give it to the duo as he promised.
* InstitutionalApparel: A large orange jumpsuit is his usual attire, due to being in prison most of the time.
* LightningBruiser: Despite his enormous bionic arms and huge chest, Tite-Gripp is extremely fast, quite capable of dashing through the city and making huge leaps.
* MadScientist: Which he combines with his incredible strength to make for a formidable foe.
* ManipulativeBastard: Very fond of messing with heroes' emotions in order to deceive them. For example, in "Soft Spot", he tricks a [[ItMakesSenseInContext gone-soft]] AP into believing he really just needs a hug and claims to have reformed after receiving one on live television. Almost immediately afterwards, he begins rampaging around the city, to the horror of the devastated AP, who Tite-Gripp is able to ruthlessly pummel with ease because of it.
* MeaningfulName: His huge mechanical arms sure do give him a ''tight grip''.
* PrimalStance: His usual way of walking, which is reasonable when you consider the size of his arms.
* SoftSpokenSadist: While he's perfectly capable of shouting when he wants to, Professor Tite-Gripp usually speaks in a very calm manner befitting of his FauxAffablyEvil personality.
* TailorMadePrison: His jail cell has him hung up on the ceiling by massive manacles, since he could simply break out of any other prison with his bionic limbs.
* TopHeavyGuy: Tiny waist compared to his enormous arms and chest. He also has a comparatively small head to go with it.
* VillainTeamUp: With [[spoiler:Mookie in the Season 1 finale.]]

Formerly Joey's bitter science teacher, Ms. Erlenmeyer was driven to madness by AP when he attempted to rescue Joey from detention in a misguided effort to thwart her "villainy". However, she took this as a welcome change, for it gave her some time to rethink her life path and find a husband -- specifically an alien entity from another dimension that transformed her into a powerful psychic and gave her a new purpose: to destroy Atomic Puppet and take over the world.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXnQy0cB5nU See their video profile here.]]
----
* AnotherDimension: It's where her king comes from and where she was transformed from a bitter teacher to a superpowered evildoer.
* ApatheticTeacher: She hated her job and the students, so the descent into supervillainy was a welcome change for her.
* ChekhovsGunman: "Atomic Detention" was a one-off story until her return in "Erlenmeyer's Revenge".
* CoolCrown: Her horned gem-encrusted headdress as Queen Mindbender, which amplifies her psychic abilities.
* CreateYourOwnVillain: She never really was evil in the first place, just really nasty. Unfortunately, AP didn't understand that.
* TheDreaded: Even AP is visibly terrified whenever Queen Mindbender shows up to cause trouble.
* EldritchAbomination: Her [[HeWhoMustNotBeSeen unseen]] master/husband.
* EvilOldFolks: Well, originally just really ill-tempered.
* EvilTeacher: And they don't come much more evil than the bride of an EldritchAbomination!
* FromNobodyToNightmare: From simply a very harsh teacher to the queen of an EldritchAbomination and one of Atomic Puppet's most dangerous foes.
* GodSaveUsFromTheQueen: Describes her master as the king.
* GreenAndMean: One of the side effects of her transformation.
* HeWhoMustNotBeSeen: Her husband. All that's really clear about his identity is that he's from another dimension and he seems to be some kind of EldritchAbomination.
* HumanoidAbomination: As a result of her transformation.
* {{Jerkass}}: She's the kind of teacher who sends students to hours-long detention for petty things like talking during a test.
* KnightOfCerebus: In "Erlenmeyer's Revenge". Her reappearance in "Lil' AP" was a lot more comedic though.
* MindControl: What she always does to Mega City's citizens to convince them to summon her master.
* MyBrainIsBig: As a result of her encounter with her master. It increases with her power.
* NothingIsScarier: Her husband's identity. Exactly WHAT did Ms. Erlenmeyer encounter that transformed her into Queen Mindbender?
* PowerFloats: Always as Queen Mindbender.
* PunnyName: An Erlenmeyer flask is a common science beaker, and Ms. Erlenmeyer was a science teacher.
* SadistTeacher: The display skeleton in her classroom is made from ''the last student who crossed her.'' Then she got worse.
* SanitySlippage: How she became evil before metamorphosing into Queen Mindbender.
* StupidityInducingAttack: In "Lil' AP", she reduces the intelligence of all the adults in Mega City to that of children in an effort to make their brains easier to manipulate. Unfortunately, it also came with all the difficulties of working with children.
* TouchedByVorlons: Ms. Erlenmeyer became Queen Mindbender by coming in contact with an alien entity after becoming evil.
* UnholyMatrimony: Her relationship with her king.

----
* AliensAreBastards: Always.
* BadassCape: His jagged black-and-red cape.
* ChekhovsGunman: He was originally an unnamed one-shot villain, accompanied by identical minions in "Pizza Planet". His return in "Monster Truck Invasion" gave him more a distinct-looking henchman in the short, pudgy, long-suffering Flert and also gave him a name. The SequelHook at the end of his return episode also cemented his role as a recurring villain.
* DittoAliens: All his minions (except Flert) look exactly like him. The difference is that his robes have a collar and a cape.
* {{Expy}}: Clearly modeled after the aliens from ''Film/MarsAttacks''
* FlyingSaucer: His primary vehicle. He also commands flying saucer drones.
* GalacticConqueror: His normal occupation when not trying ToServeMan.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Yellow eyes.
* HighCollarOfDoom: Which has a similar design to his cape.
* {{Jerkass}}: Particularly towards his lackey Flert.
* LeanAndMean: Probably the most slender member of the RoguesGallery, but also one of the most ruthless.
* LittleGreenMen: Although he's as tall as a human, he is definitely based on the stereotype.
* MyBrainIsBig: Has a very large cranium.
* SurroundedByIdiots: Often feels this ways about his minions, especially Flert.
* ToServeMan: His goal is to serve the people of Mega City at an intergalactic potluck.
* VillainousGlutton: Most of his evil schemes revolve around fattening up, cooking, and eating large numbers of people, and he's often seen enthusiastically licking his lips at the sight of the humans he's captured.

* BerserkButton: Hates being called by names other than Mudman, such as Dirtbag ("Dirtbag's my cousin"), Scumbag ("Scumbag's my uncle"), or Muckman. Joey and AP find its a good way to get his attention when they have to fight him.
* DishingOutDirt: Mud in this case.
* FromASingleCell: One of his abilities. It's also what allows him to return again and again despite being destroyed by Atomic Puppet often.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Yellow ones.
* MuckMonster: He can also absorb additional filth to increase his size.
* ThePigpen: He's been shown to be very proud of how grimy and disgusting he is.
* TheSymbiote: Able to control others by smothering himself on them. Does this to Mrs. Felt to challenge Joey.
* UnexplainedRecovery: Has been totally destroyed on-screen in twice ("Don't Track the Mudman" and "Mookie's Got the Power"), only to return as if nothing happened later on. Considering his regenerative abilities, it's probable that a tiny fraction of him survived somewhere else in both scenarios.
* VoluntaryShapeshifting: Being a MuckMonster, he can change form as he pleases a la [[Franchise/{{Batman}} Clayface]].

An infamous, strangely-accented cat-burglar who takes on the term in both the literal and figurative sense, given that she only cat-naps the rarest feline breeds to call her own. 489\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPAhdiSPY0s See their video profile here.]]
----
* ClassyCatBurglar: A parody of them. She literally steals cats and does cat-like things.
* ColorCodedEyes: Has green eyes, complete with feline pupils. Because she's so cat-like.
* CoolMask: Her feline-styled eye-mask.
* DarkActionGirl: As one of the few female villains on the show.
* {{Expy}}: She's obviously a parody of ComicBook/{{Catwoman}} (specifically as played by Eartha Kitt).
* HartmanHips: They're more obvious when she's seen in her prison jumpsuit in "The Big Shift".
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Concept art posted online reveals her design was inspired by Eartha Kitt (and her role as Catwoman on ''Series/Batman1966'') and Sofia Vergara.
* PungeonMaster: A third of her dialogue is cat-related puns.
* WhatTheHellIsThatAccent: Speaks in an accent that can only be described as some kind of European (possibly Spanish).

* BreathWeapon: A blast of soil. His saliva is even just wet dirt.
* ChekhovsGunman: Was first mentioned in the show by Mudman in a throwaway line. Joey and AP probably didn't expect to actually meet and fight him later on. No word on Uncle Scumbag though.
* CountryCousin: To Mudman.
* {{Cowboy}}: His aesthetic, albeit with a good amount of DeepSouth.
* DishingOutDirt: His primary power is his ability to belch blasts of soil at his foes.
* EarlyBirdCameo: Appears in the show's intro for quite a while before he appears in the show proper.
* GlowingEyesOfDoom: Though they're more noticeable in dark spaces.
* HillbillyHorrors: A G-rated example, not unlike [[WesternAnimation/ThePowerpuffGirls Fuzzy Lumpkins]].

A scrawny, nerdy-looking superhero wannabe shunned by everyone else for his ability to steal others' powers. With his dreams of joining the Justice Alliance crushed by this misfortune, he seeks to rob them of their powers and use them for himself to show the world that they're "no more a hero than anyone else".\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw04nh3BUF4 See their video profile here.]]
----
* AllYourPowersCombined: Is able to steal multiple powers at once, such as Atomic Puppet alongside the entire Justice Alliance. He also gains their physical features like Captain Atomic's muscles, Commander Cavalier's mustache, and Crimson Beacon's flaming hair.
* AssimilationBackfire: Absorbo Lad gained all the weaknesses of the Justice Alliance along with their powers, so Joey and AP were able to subdue him with the Justice Alliance's secret stash of weaknesses.
* BadPowersBadPeople: The dangerous nature of his superpowers caused people to shun him, turning him evil. It also influences why he hates superheroes, as he despises how people admire them while he was feared.
* BewareTheSillyOnes: Despite appearing as a scrawny nerdy-looking guy dressed in a cheaply-made costume, Absorbo Lad is one of the most feared and dangerous villains in the show, defeating the Justice Alliance and Atomic Puppet singlehandedly in the first few minutes of his appearance.
* TheDreaded: The Justice Alliance are ''terrified'' of him.
* FallenHero: Like Mookie, he was originally a wannabe superhero, but now feels that superheroes don't deserve the admiration they get. As he puts it, he wants to prove they're "no more a hero than anyone else".
-->'''Absorbo Lad (mockingly while terrorizing Mega City with stolen powers):''' What's the matter? All of a sudden, you people ''don't'' like superpowers?
* {{Foil}}: To Mookie (who he shares a voice actor with). Both share similar backstories as being wannabe superheroes who turned bad when they were dismissed by everyone around them. But whereas Mookie wants to be a hero admired and worshiped by the people of Mega City despite his lack of superpowers, Absorbo Lad wants to be feared and hated by everyone so he can prove superpowers don't make one special or admirable. Furthermore, Mookie is big and fat but isn't taken seriously by anyone, while Absorbo Lad is small and scrawny but considered TheDreaded. This even extends to their costumes, with Mookie's looking professionally made and Absorbo Lad's being very amateurish.
* GagNose: His big pointy honker.
* {{Jerkass}}: His idea of using stolen superpowers isn't to take over the world, but to just be mean to civilians so that he can prove his beliefs on superheroes.
* TheNapoleon: He's even shorter than twelve-year-old Joey, but his hatred for superheroes is on par with a much larger villain.
* NerdGlasses: Wears these to emphasize his scrawny, non-threatening appearance.
* OneShotCharacter: Despite having only appeared in a single episode, he managed to get his own character profile on the official website.
* PowerParasite: His sole ability is to steal the powers of his foes with only a touch.
** EnergyAbsorption: However, he can also apply this power drain to other forms of "power", allowing him to actually eat electricity to gain electric abilities.
* TailorMadePrison: A giant juicer-like device intended to squeeze out any powers he's stolen.
* ThenLetMeBeEvil: His backstory in a nutshell. After being shunned by everyone else for his powers, he decided to just go supervillain, so he could show to the world that having superpowers doesn't make one special.

Joey Felt's loving if slightly quirky family, not too different from most suburban middle-class families. All of them are unaware of Joey's secret identity as Atomic Puppet (or the fact he's the reason why the roof always seems to need fixing) and have their own special relationship with him. They are composed of:\
\
Phil Felt, Joey's burly, cat-loving, manly-man kind of dad who thinks that his son should stop wasting time playing with that stupid Captain Atomic sock puppet he carries everywhere and focus on facing the real world like a man. He often brings Joey on father-son bonding experiences, from camping to carpentry.\
\
Vivian Felt, Joey's adoring, sweet-natured mom who utterly dotes on her children. Unlike her husband with his firm belief that Joey needs to man up soon, she constantly worries that her little "Jo-Jo" is too eager to take on the world's dangers, and dreads the day he will start showing signs of teenage rebellion.\
\
Abbie Felt, Joey's bubbly 8-year-old sister who mostly just sees her older brother as a lovable dork and doesn't worry much about him the way her parents do. Joey, in turn, is always looking after her and taking care of her needs whenever mom and dad aren't around -- even if she sometimes gets on his nerves.\
\
Bubbles, the family's overweight, slow-witted tabby cat and possibly Phil's favorite thing in the whole wide world. While the rest of the family are just fine with Bubbles and get along with him well enough, AP is convinced that the cat is secretly a supervillain named Disastro who is plotting to destroy Atomic Puppet.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hN_MWKXfwY See their video profile here.]]
----
!! Phil Felt
* ADayInTheLimelight: Due to the significant focus his relationship with Joey gets (particularly later on), there are many episodes featuring him in a major or central role, such as "Survival of the Feltest", "Monster Truck Invasion", and "Pinched Nerves".
* BigEater: The man has demolished about a dozen large stacks of pancakes at a breakfast restaurant, and Zorp's analysis of his body indicates he can eat 40 slices of pizza in one sitting.
* BigFun: He's a pretty large man, but also a loving husband and father who adores his pet cat and enjoys spending time with his son.
* BoisterousBruiser: A big, rugged man who loves to spend time with his son and dotes on his pet cat. He's also pretty excitable sometimes, being utterly ecstatic at getting to meet Atomic Puppet in person in "The Big Shift" and getting all giddy with glee when Atomic Puppet tells him he might be able to visit his son.
* CutenessProximity: When it comes to his Bubbles, who he considers to be "the most adorable kitty-kat in the world". AP strongly disagrees with this sentiment.
* DistressedDude: Of all the members of the Felt family, he's the one who most frequently needs to be saved from danger. He's been pursued by a pack of wolves, almost deep-fried by Zorp, beaten and tied up by Mookie, and even nearly killed by Atomic Puppet in a chase gone wrong.
* GoodParents: Phil definitely cares a lot about Joey and Abbie. In particular, his relationship with Joey is heavily featured in many episodes, all of which show that he loves hanging out with his son and doing activities with him.
* HappilyMarried: To Vivian. While his more boisterous demeanor can exasperate her sometimes, the two are still shown to be very affectionate with each other, as seen in "Lacer Takes Over" and "Pinched Nerves".
* HatesMySecretIdentity: A variation of this regarding AP. While Phil is unaware AP is even alive, he is not especially fond of the sock puppet and often expresses to Joey his wish for him to stop taking that Captain Atomic sock puppet everywhere. "The Big Shift" goes into further depth about this, as Phil reveals to Joey that he dislikes Captain Atomic for "abandoning" Mega City and thinks Joey should be admiring Atomic Puppet instead. The conversation enrages AP enough that he almost blows his cover.
-->'''Phil:''' Listen, I didn't really want to say this since judging from your room, you still like the guy, but that guy's nothing but a quitter who left this town high and dry.
-->'''Joey:''' That's not fair! You might not know the whole story!
-->'''Phil:''' If he wanted to be here, he'd be here. But he's off doing whatever it is he's doing, and we're being protected day and night by Atomic Puppet!
-->'''Joey:''' I'm just saying it might not be that easy!
-->'''Vivian:''' Phil, let it go! That's his hero!
-->'''Phil:''' And all I'm saying is that maybe you'd learn a thing or two if you stopped playing with that stupid puppet of yours and started admiring a real hero!
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: While he is tough and stern with his son, he has made it clear that he genuinely enjoys spending time with him so [[WellDoneSonGuy Joey]] can become somebody who will make him proud.
* KindheartedCatLover: He absolutely ''adores'' his cat Bubbles, to the point where the cat is basically Joey's primary competition for Number Two Man of the House.
-->'''Phil (to Bubbles):''' You're like the son I never had!
-->'''Joey:''' Ummm, dad?
-->'''Phil:''' Oh, sorry.
* LovesMyAlterEgo: A familial example. In "The Big Shift", it's revealed that Phil greatly admires Atomic Puppet for picking up the slack when Captain Atomic "abandoned" Mega City. He chastises Joey for wasting his time admiring Captain Atomic when he should instead be looking up to Atomic Puppet, unaware his son ''is'' the eponymous superhero.
-->'''Phil:''' If it was up to me, we would have honored Atomic Puppet the day he showed up!
* PapaWolf: He's shown to be pretty protective of his kids. When Joey lies to him in "The Big Shift" about Mookie being "some jerk who hangs outside my school and beats up kids", Phil is ''furious'' and goes in hot pursuit of Mookie.
* ParentalObliviousness: To the fact that Joey is Atomic Puppet and that sock puppet he keeps is actually Captain Atomic. [[spoiler:This changes at the end of Season 1 when Joey reveals his secret identity to him.]]

!! Vivian Felt
* ADayInTheLimelight: She usually appears in bit roles throughout the series, but in "Don't Track the Mudman", she plays a major role in the episode's conflict when Mudman possesses her.
* AmazinglyEmbarrassingParent: She dotes on her children to the point of often embarrassing them (especially Joey), even within the confines of their own home.
-->'''Vivian:''' Here comes the laundry express with some fresh underpants for someone's bum-bum.
-->'''Joey:''' Mom! You said you were gonna knock from now on!
-->'''Vivian:''' Oopsie. Sorry, pumpkin. ''(Joey groans)'' Now you get back to blasting aliens or whatever super secret thing you were doing. ''(leaves)''
-->'''AP:''' That was ''priceless''. ''(mocking tone)'' ''Here comes the laundry express with some fresh underpants for someone's bum-bum!'' ''(laughs)''
* GoodParents: She adores her family more than anything else in the world, and especially her children. And while she does fall into the overprotective territory as a result, you can't deny that her worrying is from a place of love.
* HappilyMarried: To Phil. While Phil's boisterousness can be a bit much for her sometimes, the two are still clearly happy and in love together.
* HartmanHips: Not as exaggerated as some examples, but can be seen when she's in her bathrobes in "Don't Track the Mudman".
* {{Housewife}}: Usually seen doing laundry around the household.
* MyBelovedSmother: She absolutely dotes on Joey and Abbie. In "Lil' AP", she has a minor breakdown when she believes Joey is starting to rebel and immediately declares her intent to parent him more closely.
-->'''Vivian:''' I knew I should have hugged him more...
* ParentalObliviousness: Like Phil, she's unaware of Joey's secret identity and that his "little friend" is actually the transformed Captain Atomic. [[spoiler:Phil decides to keep it a secret from her after he learns the truth because "the last thing I need is your mother freaking out every time you're out of her sight".]]
* WomenAreWiser: While Phil balances out her overprotectiveness, Vivian is much more mellow and grounded. In "The Big Shift", she's quick to tell Phil to pipe down when he complains loudly about slow service at the pancake house and calls him out for badmouthing Captain Atomic in front of Joey

!! Abigail "Abbie" Felt
* ADayInTheLimelight: She gets the least screentime of all the Felts, but "Snow Maniac" puts her in an extremely prominent role.
* AffectionateNickname: Sometimes call "Abs" for short by Joey.
* AnnoyingYoungerSibling: She's sometimes this to Joey. In "Snow Maniac" for instance, she rudely awakens Joe from his sleep by jumping on his bed and excitedly telling him about the snow outside, even knocking him out of his bed.
-->'''Joey:''' Oh, whatever, I'm trying to sleep. Go bug mom and dad or something.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: Some of her earlier, more minor appearances, like "Atomic Goo", depicted her more as a BrattyHalfPint than the CheerfulChild of her more prominent roles. In particular, her first appearance "Pizza Planet" implies she and Joey have an antagonistic relationship, but her more prominent appearances in "Something Chicken" and "Snow Maniac" instead show them as having a good sibling relationship.
* CheerfulChild: Often very giddy and smiling, always finding something to be excited about.
* ChildrenAreInnocent: She usually tends to be oblivious to the shenanigans Joey and AP get into. In "Something Chicken" for instance, she does not question the sudden appearance of a chicken outside the Felt house and asks Joey if she can adopt it. When said chicken turns out to be the mutant Werechicken, she remains wholly unaware of the monster rampaging through the household, being distracted from the crisis by Joey with a simple game of hide-and-seek.
* GenkiGirl: She's excitable and fun-loving, sometimes to the point of being a bit much for the rest of her family and AP.
* GirlishPigtails: Two very long ones that reflect her innocent and cheerful nature.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: Her full name is confirmed to be Abigail on the official website, but she's only ever referred to as "Abbie" in the show.
* OutOfFocus: She has the least appearances of all members of the Felt Family, to the point where it'd be completely understandable if viewers mistakenly assumed Joey was an only child.

!! Bubbles
* ADayInTheLimelight: "AP vs. Disastro", its sequel, and "Atomic Hairball" all feature him very significantly. However, he pretty much falls OutOfFocus after these early episodes due to the whole "AP is convinced he is evil" RunningGag being dropped after "AP vs. Disastro II".
* BuffoonishTomcat: A roly-poly tabby who is generally pretty clueless about his surroundings and slow on the uptake. Phil still adores him all the same.
* CatsAreMean: AP is convinced he is an example of this, but in reality, he's too fat and stupid to be a threat to anyone. Every instance of him "antagonizing" AP is entirely Bubbles being playful or oblivious. Played straight however in "AP vs. Disastro II" when he becomes an evil genius intent on destroying AP as a result of eating Mintenberg's new cat food brand.
* DemotedToExtra: After "AP vs. Disastro II", his appearances become fewer and fewer, being mostly relegated to to quick cameos or offhand mentions and AP's one-sided rivalry with him vanishing more or less entirely.
* ExtremeOmnivore: He'll eat pretty much anything he can. Case in point: he once ate some yarn from AP and Joey's hair supercharged by their transformation into Atomic Puppet, turning him into a giant monster.
* UnknownRival: To AP, who believes Bubbles is a supervillain named Disastro plotting against him. Bubbles is at best unaware of AP's hostility to him, and even Joey just rolls his eyes at AP's paranoia. However, this is largely dropped after "AP vs. Disastro II", suggesting AP stopped with the whole thing after the events of that episode.

Mega City's top newsman, Rex Bordeaux built his career covering the amazing heroics Captain Atomic pulled off every day. But with Mega City's greatest hero gone, he now finds himself counting on newcomer Atomic Puppet to bring in the scoops that will keep his stellar reputation (and gigantic ego) afloat.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDNo4u1h6gQ See their video profile here.]]
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: He's usually a bit character, but he features quite prominently in "Media Darlings", where he gets tied up with the VillainOfTheWeek's plot.
* CompanionCube: His (secretly fake) mustache, which he refers to as "The General". It's valuable enough to him that the supervillain Harry Von Follicle blackmailed him into giving him a good publicity campaign in "Media Darlings".
* CoincidentalBroadcast: As the show's resident news reporter, he's a very common source of these.
* {{Expy}}: Bears a striking resemblance to [[Film/AnchormanTheLegendOfRonBurgundy Ron Burgundy]], even having the same initials.
* ItsAllAboutMe: Very, ''very'' egotistical. His channel's newsvan is painted with an idealized version of himself standing atop the back of a tiger and holding up a microphone in a lightning storm. And he'll let nobody stand in the way of him being the first to get the scoop, even if they're not fellow reporters.
-->'''The Mayor of Mega City:''' Let's hear it for--''(Rex jumps in and shoves The Mayor to the ground)''
-->'''Rex Bordeaux:''' Out of the way, Mayor! This story's got Bordeaux written all over it! Let's hear it for Atomic Puppet!
* KentBrockmanNews: Although Mega City's Number One Newsman, he often lets his ego get in the way of his professionalism. Also shown to have a rivalry with the weatherman.
* {{Narcissist}}: He absolutely adores himself and is very easy to flatter. Warren Beasley was able to convince him to listen to his claims of evidence for Atomic Puppet's secret identity by simply saying he was Rex's biggest fan.
* RecurringExtra: He's generally not an important character in most episodes, but he appears frequently enough to be considered one of the show's major characters on account of his usefulness to many plots and being flexible enough for other roles (such as acting as the announcer in "Brawl-For-All!" and "Bend It Like Joey").
* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: One of his most important moments in the series. In "The Big Shift", he hosts an exclusive to interview the recently-arrested Mookie. As a result, Mookie is able to sneak out of prison by hitching a ride under Rex's newsvan, allowing him to attack the Felt household, steal AP from Joey, and break out all the villains from the Mega City Maximum Security Prison.

-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/ScottMcCord

Known to the citizens of Mega City as the resident eccentric zillionaire, Rudolph Mintenberg has both endless money and endless spare time. What he lacks however is contentedness with his lavish and idle lifestyle. To sate his constant desire for the most extraordinary entertainment, he pours untold trillions into inventions and experiments that, more often than not, end up causing havoc around Mega City and require Atomic Puppet to step in and save the day.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWhd1aiM9Y0 See their video profile here.]]
----
* AntiVillain: He's a regular antagonist to Atomic Puppet, due to them having to fight his various creations. But unlike Mookie, Tite-Gripp, and the rest of the RoguesGallery, he has no sinister motivations and otherwise considers Joey and AP to be his friends. As a result, he's not categorized as an "Evildoer" as the rest of the show's villains are.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny: He gets bored extremely quickly, dropping whatever pet project he has to immediately pursue another before abandoning it not long afterwards.
* ChekhovsGunman: In his first appearance, "Ultimate Collection", he was an extremely minor character whose sole role in the story was as the owner of the 133rd Captain Atomic action figure Joey desired. Viewers would likely have forgotten about him shortly afterwards were it not for the writers bringing him back in "Something Chicken", where Joey immediately recognizes his name as "that billionaire weirdo". From that point onwards, his personality and series role became much more strongly defined, resulting in him having several major appearances in the series as a recurring antagonist.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}}: When we say he's an EccentricMillionaire, we ''mean'' the "eccentric" part. He tends to be very hyperactive and childlike as a result of his constant RichBoredom and will find any excuse to amuse himself.
* EccentricMillionaire: He is fabulously wealthy and a wacky CloudCuckoolander whose idea of fun is creating dangerous inventions and experiments.
* Fiction500: He is ''obscenely'' rich, to the point that instead of a butler, he has an AI that can do anything he asks, from uncloaking a secret lair to magnifying the Moon.
* FriendlyEnemy: A one-sided example. Mintenberg holds absolutely no malice towards Atomic Puppet and is always happy to welcome them to his mansion, but Joey and AP find him obnoxious. Nonetheless, he does offer them his assistance on a few occasions, such as sending an army of genetically enhanced mice to help them thwart a VillainOfTheWeek or buying them a secret lair -- which Joey and AP accept with some reluctance.
* GoofyPrintUnderwear: As seen in "AP vs. Disastro II", he wears boxers patterned with purple dollar signs underneath his bathrobes.
* TheHedonist: As an extremely rich, bored, and childish man, everything he does is purely for his own entertainment and he will spend vast sums of money creating new things to excite and amuse him.
* HuntingTheMostDangerousGame: He has expressed interest multiple times in hunting Atomic Puppet for sport.
* InconsistentSpelling: The show often flip-flops between spelling his name as Mintenb'''e'''rg or Mintenb'''u'''rg. In his video profile on the show's official Youtube channel, it uses the latter spelling in the title but the former spelling appears in the video itself. Similarly, the "e" version is used for the episode "Mintenberg's Armor", but the "u" version appears in "Something Chicken".
* {{Keet}}: He is almost always in a good mood and extremely energetic.
* MadScientist: Most of the things he creates to entertain himself could qualify him for one, such as mutant chickens and superpowered robot suits.
* NonHumanSidekick: Rather than a butler or any other kind of house servant, he's catered to by an artificial intelligence named Sneeri (implied to be of his own design).
* PsychopathicManchild: His phenomenal wealth, constant RichBoredom, and incredibly hyper personality all collide together to create an extremely childish man whose favorite way of amusing himself is by creating dangerous inventions and conducting weird experiments.
* RichBoredom: His motivation as an antagonist. He is endlessly bored and never satisfied by anything for long, so he is constantly spending his fortune on crazy ideas to entertain himself.

Joey's neighbor and classmate, Warren is a nerd who pries his nose into everyone's business so he can collect secrets he can use against them. He knows everything about everyone in the neighborhood -- except Joey, whom he is very certain is hiding something extremely important away from everyone else.\
\
[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAkp8iczziA See their video profile here.]]
----
* ChekhovsGunman: Much like Mintenberg, his introductory episode ("Bad Lair Day") had him in a very minor role and could have easily been forgotten about were it not for his second appearance, "Atomic Android", giving him his first major role and establishing his interest in discovering Joey's SecretIdentity (although his general habit of spying on others was set up in "Bad Lair Day").
* TheChewToy: Let's see. He's been attacked by a robot duplicate of Atomic Puppet, scared multiple times by animatronics, abducted by a malevolent A.I., gotten amnesia ''three times'', and been arrested for "looking shifty".
* {{Fanboy}}: He ''really'' idolizes Rex Bordeaux. Fitting, since Rex's media vulture behavior mirrors Warren's snooping.
* GagNose: A large round pink nose holding up his glasses.
* InsistentTerminology: He's prefers to call his snooping "eavesdropping", as he tells Pauline in "Bad Lair Day".
* InsufferableGenius: A snooty nerd who also happens to be a skilled eavesdropper and stalker, using his talents in spying on others for his own ends.
* {{Jerkass}}: He's a snobby little voyeur whose interests include stealing people's personal belongings, invading their privacy, blackmailing them with their dirty secrets, and threatening to expose said secrets for little good reason. It's telling that Joey and Pauline both seem to dislike him.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Most episodes he appears in see him pay for his snooping activities in humiliating manners.
* NosyNeighbour: He's this to everybody in Joey's neighborhood and his own classmates. It's even mentioned in "Pinched Nerves" that he regularly steals Phil's morning newspaper.
* SecretChaser: Is determined to prove that Joey Felt is Atomic Puppet.
* StereotypicalNerd: Although his nerdy interests lean more towards espionage than superhero comics like with Joey and Pauline, he still exhibits many of the classic traits, such as wearing NerdGlasses, possessing YouthfulFreckles, being an InsufferableGenius disliked by his classmates, being a {{Fanboy}} (of celebrity newsman Rex Bordeaux in this case rather than Captain Atomic like Joey and Pauline are), and being TheChewToy.
* YouthfulFreckles: Like Joey, he has freckles that signify him as being a 12-year-old.

ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin. He's happy Atomic Puppet keeps everyone safe, but not so much about the huge damage bills he has to pay for as a result of their regular fights against evil. Thus, he is determined to replace Atomic Puppet, be it bringing in a less destructive hero or getting the police to up their game.\

----
* EarlyBirdCameo: He makes a non-speaking cameo in "Bad Lair Day" before his proper introduction in "Brawl-For-All!".
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: He's simply referred to as "The Mayor".
* HeroInsurance: A victim of this, to his constant frustration. While he doesn't mind the fact Atomic Puppet protects Mega City and keeps everyone safe, he really wishes they could do so in a manner that doesn't require him to pay large sums of money to rebuild destroyed infrastructure.
* ObstructiveBureaucrat: While not evil, he doesn't see eye to eye with Atomic Puppet and will do anything he can within his power to keep them in line.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Despite his antagonistic relationship with Atomic Puppet, he has demonstrated himself to be this. In "Down-and-Out Dyna-Moe" for instance, he prevents a fight from breaking out between AP and Dyna-Moe by informing them that Mega City's new defender will be determined through democracy, allowing the citizens of Mega City to voice their love for Dyna-Moe and thus declare him Mega City's new superhero.

Mega City's loud and volatile police chief, newly appointed by the Mayor of Mega City as part of his efforts to get a less expensive defender. An ex-spec ops commando, Chief Kevlar has no love for superheroes and ultimately seeks to show Mega City that the police can be a capable force against any supervillain.\

----
* CrossPoppingVeins: A small one appears on his head whenever he's about to lose it or angrier than usual.
* DrillSergeantNasty: Used to be one and still acts like one, complete with constantly barking orders at his men at maximum volume.
* DrivenByEnvy: He hates Atomic Puppet because he wants to prove that the police are as capable of dealing with supervillains as superheroes are.
-->'''Chief Kevlar:''' That costumed ''freak'''s always stealing my thunder!
* HairTriggerTemper: Seriously, Pauline using ObfuscatingStupidity when talking to him was enough to make him ''explode''.
-->'''Chief Kevlar:''' You say "like" one more time ''and I'm going to lock you up'' '''''for crimes against language!'''''
-->'''Pauline:''' *gulp*
* NoIndoorVoice: Due to his HairTriggerTemper and DrillSergeantNasty approach to leading the police force, it's hard to name an instance where he's not shouting at the top of his lungs or sounding like he's about to lose it.
* OneShotCharacter: His only appearance outside of his debut episode "Atomic Weakness" is a non-speaking cameo in "Lil' AP". Nonetheless, he still managed to get a profile on the official website.
* PunnyName: Kevlar is a type of synthetic fiber used to make bulletproof vests -- fitting for the fierce and intimidating chief of police.
* RabidCop: He has a zero-tolerance attitude towards ''any'' form of lawbreaking and will arrest or fine anybody who even slightly brushes against the line.
* ScaryBlackMan: As the hot-tempered head of the police. Fortunately, he does seem to have mellowed out after his first appearance.
* TopHeavyGuy: His build is quite similar to that of Commander Cavalier.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Due to being the only officer on the force who averts PoliceAreUseless, he seeks to make Mega City's police force an efficient and disciplined fighting force so to prove to Mega City they can battle supervillains just as well as Atomic Puppet can. However, as a RabidCop and DrillSergeantNasty DrivenByEnvy, he goes to extreme lengths to prove this, such as arresting or charging people for small misdemeanors and using a power-draining meteorite to prevent Atomic Puppet from doing their job. That said, he does seem to tone it down after "Atomic Weakness" and is implied to have forgiven Atomic Puppet after the events of that episode.
