Legendary enforcer for the Washimine clan and protector of Yukio Washimine, his skill with a sword is equal to Revy's gunfighting ability.
-----
* AffablyEvil: He's polite, respectful and genuinely cares about Yukio, to where he thanks Rock and Revy for helping him save her. But he's also a ruthless Yakuza enforcer who can be very sadistic -- as seen with how he taunts and kills the Russian Mafia group -- and is willing to do anything for Yukio no matter how amoral or pragmatically questionable it is.
* BackToBackBadasses: With Revy at the bowling alley against Chaka's group.
* TheBigGuy: Revy calls him "Jumbo" for a reason. He's the biggest and strongest in the Washimine Clan.
* BloodKnight: He is in vehement denial that he is one for most of the arc, but he embraces his bloodlust when he slaughters Chaka's men with Revy. When he reaches his final confrontation with Revy, [[NotSoDifferentRemark he admits that they aren't that different]] and doesn't even try to deny his love of combat for their final duel.
* BodyguardCrush: His loyalties are all for Yukio, and it's almost a sure thing that they're romantically-inspired.
* BornInTheWrongCentury: Honestly, his almost-supernatural swordsmanship belongs in a completely different ''genre'', much less century, as does his sense of honor and utter loyalty to his master.
* CoolShades: He always wears a pair of dark glasses to make him look even more badass.
* DodgeTheBullet: When he's not [[ParryingBullets cutting bullets in half in midair]] Ginji dodges them with ease, despite his size, at ''point blank'' range.
* EmeraldPower: He's an intimidating, powerful swordsman who wears a moss green coat to fights.
* TheDragon: Number one enforcer for the Washimine Clan.
%%* IaijutsuPractitioner
* KatanasAreJustBetter: Ginji uses a shirasaya blade. Semi-justified in that he's part of the {{Yakuza}}.
* LightningBruiser: Huge but fast and hits like a tank.
* MasterSwordsman: His mastery of the katana is more befitting of a character from Manga/RurouniKenshin than in a modern gangster crime drama, with the supernatural speed strength and accuracy to match.
* MrFanservice: He's a muscled giant with sunglasses and a katana who spends some time shirtless.
* NeighbourhoodFriendlyGangsters: He's first seen working in a festival booth. He also says that being poor is better than "selling women and drugs."
* NeverBringAGunToAKnifeFight: He can cut bullets out of the air and easily take down any normal gunman.
* OneHeadTaller: He tops Yukio's height by a full head; appropriate for a bodyguard.
* ParryingBullets: He's fast enough to ''cut bullets in half'' with his sword, making him more than an equal match for any normal gunman.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: The way he kills Chaka is [[CruelAndUnusualDeath quite horrid and painful]], but Chaka deserved every second of it due to his terrible actions and treatment of Yukio.
* RedBaron: [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Manslayer Ginji.]]
* RetiredBadass: Was contentedly working as a vendor until he was called out of retirement.
* RoaringRampageOfRescue: Goes through the punks who kidnapped and mistreated Yukio like a hay reaper ("Did you want to see my sword that badly?!"), then [[spoiler:goes after the ringleader, chops up his gun, severs his hands, knocks him into a pool, and pushes him under to drown.]]
* {{Samurai}}: With his katana, loyalty to his traditional-minded master and other aspects, he fits this archetype. BornInTheWrongCentury indeed.
* SlasherSmile: Withholds it most of the time, but lets it slip for a moment when he takes down Laptev's group, and finally lets it out during the final battle.
* TheStoic: He rarely shows any emotion on his face.
* SubordinateExcuse: The only reason he goes back to the {{Yakuza}} is because he loves Yukio and wants to protect her.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Emphasis on the "tall" part. The other two don't receive as much attention but they still stand.
* TattooedCrook: Has a large traditional yakuza-style backpiece.
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler:After Revy kills him, Yukio kills herself to join him in death.]]
* UndyingLoyalty: To Yukio, whom he formally pledged loyalty to; literally undying as he vowed all of his reincarnations to her service as well.
* WorthyOpponent: Revy immediately pegs him as one for her. He slowly stops denying his inner psycho and admits he sees her the same way, and also acknowledges that both of them are people who are unfit for regular society and walk the paths they do by necessity. That's why he has a duel with her.

A high school girl and [[YakuzaPrincess heir to the Washimine Clan]], who takes over leadership of the group when it's at war with Balalaika and the old one, Tsugio Bandou, loses his life.
-----
* AffablyEvil: She’s only evil because she’s a part of and becomes the head of the Yakuza. She doesn’t prove to be a big threat on her own, though.
* AntiVillain: One of the few honorable and ethical people in the series just happens to be antagonistic to the viewpoint characters. She chooses to become a {{yakuza}} boss when Balalaika kills the previous one, since she's next in line.
* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: [[spoiler:She chose to die by her own hand, either to avert being at the mercy of rival clans or Hotel Moscow, preserve her honor like an oldschool YamatoNadeshiko would, or [[TogetherInDeath to be with Ginji]] or a mix of all three.]]
* BigBadWannabe: The underworld has a '''really steep''' learning curve and Balalaika had a few decades of experience on her.
* BreakingSpeech:
** To Rock when he tries to convince her that the path she has chosen is wrong.
** He is later able to, [[KirkSummation politely, tell her to shut up]], stating that [[TakeAThirdOption his path]] is not only a perfectly valid way to live, but also one that allows him to see that she is simply not cut out for the life of a gangster.
* BreakTheCutie: Her entire arc was determined to do this to her repeatedly. [[spoiler:Her dad dying, the NoSympathy from others in the Yakuza, Hotel Moscow on the offensive, Chaka kidnapping and humiliating her, and finally, her lover's death before her eyes. Once she breaks, she ends up crossing the DespairEventHorizon and kills herself.]]
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike: Rock rescues Yukio from capture, humiliation and imminent rape, then begs her to leave the underworld. She thanks him politely and then unleashs a brutal BreakingSpeech of his own motives.
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler:She finally completely breaks and loses all hope after she sees Ginji die right before her eyes. She then proceeds to kill herself.]]
* DoomedMoralVictor: She lives her life without compromising her principles, [[spoiler:which is why she turns to evil despite Rock's advice]].
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler:She kills herself after Revy kills Ginji.]]
* EvilFeelsGood: While she thinks the festivals her family hosted were fun, she thinks robbing a bank to be even more fun.
* {{Foil}}: To Rock, as both characters were fairly normal, kind civilians who were thrust into the criminal underworld. Essentially, she is a version of him who found herself unfit and outmatched despite her strong principles and [[spoiler: her death]] drives Rock even more into cynicism.
* GoOutWithASmile: [[spoiler:In the manga, she's smiling sadly at Rock and Revy as she pierces her throat with Ginji's katana and neck and falls on his lifeless body.]]
* GoryDiscretionShot: While the manga depicts her suicide rather graphically, it becomes a SoundOnlyDeath in the anime.
* HateAtFirstSight: [[spoiler:She told Rock that his relative freedom compared to her caused her to hate him.]]
* HimeCut: A YamatoNadeshiko with long beautiful dark hair, straight bangs, while her side strands are always braided at the back.
* HonorBeforeReason: The entire reason she took over her Family was because she felt obligated to her subordinates, despite the fact that none of them wanted her to sacrifice her civilian life for them and that there was absolutely no chance of victory. Justified as her refusal to leave Balalaika's forces alone is made on the very reasonable grounds that she had no reason to trust Balalaika to keep her word after having broken it to wage war on her Family in the first place.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Willingly takes leadership of a Yakuza gang, and laughs at Rock's suggestion that she leave the underworld. [[spoiler:It doesn't end well for her.]]
* ImprobableAge: A 17-year-old teenager has no business trying to fight an older veteran like Balalaika and her ex-special forces henchmen, even with the help of Ginji and the rest of the Washimine Clan. It's made even worse by the intervention of Chaka and his group. [[DeconstructedTrope That sort of thing doesn't work in real life.]]
* ImpromptuTracheotomy: [[spoiler:She kills herself by piercing her own neck with a katana.]]
* IneffectualSympatheticVillain: She tries being a major threat, but she fails to and it gets worse from there.
* {{Joshikousei}}: Her black-blue [[SailorFuku school uniform.]] She wears it even after having dropped out of school to lead the Washimine group, until [[FanDisservice she is forcibly and horribly stripped of it]]. [[http://surbrook.devermore.net/adaptationsanime/bl/yukio.jpg Also, this.]]
* KimonoIsTraditional: Wears a simple one after the incident with her school uniform because she's still clinging to ideas of Family and Tradition and she also wears [[spoiler:when she commits suicide, specifically ''jigai'' .]]
* OutGambitted: Frequently because of the steep learning curve in the underworld. Her trick with the van worked nicely, but the rest did not.
* ThePhilosopher: She likes to read philosophy treatises in her spare time.
* {{Protectorate}}: Ginji's sole motivation is to protect Yukio from anything.
* SeeYouInHell: The message that she asks Rock to relay to Balalaika [[spoiler:before committing suicide]] in the manga.
-->[[spoiler:'''Yukio''': Please take this message to Balalaika. "To the place you will one day come. I will be waiting."]]
* {{Seppuku}}: [[spoiler:Or better said, ''jigai'' only with a katana than a dagger.]]
* ShamefulStrip: When captured by Chaka and his group. By the time Rock and Revy find her, the poor girl only has her panties and jacket on. [[FanDisservice For worse]], we get [[MaleGaze close-ups]] of [[LegFocus her butt and legs]].
* SubordinateExcuse: Rocky accuses Yukio of this, saying she accepted the role of Yakuza boss just to be with Ginji, who could never have a normal life with her.
* TogetherInDeath: [[spoiler:With Ginji, as she kills herself few minutes after he dies dueling Revy.]]
* TooCleverByHalf: Her relentless philosophizing is just a front for her uncertainty and desire to be with Ginji, but it lets her delude herself for long enough for her whole life to wind up in ruin.
%%* WarriorPoet
* YakuzaPrincess: Her family has been the head of this organization for a long time. Her people didn't want her to sacrifice her peaceful life to take over because they didn't think she could handle it. Other "followers" like Chaka tried to kill her or sell her into {{sex slave}}ry). She can barely keep up with other mafia factions, and as a result, [[spoiler:both she and her protector Ginji end up dead.]]
* YamatoNadeshiko: She fits the trope as "the young Samurai girl who takes up the family business". She even [[spoiler:commits suicide]] in the traditional manner of a Japanese noblewoman, and while [[KimonoIsTraditional wearing a kimono]] even.
* YouAreInCommandNow: Becomes head of the Washimine clan after TheLeader kicks it. She did well with what she had at hand, being able to figure out what was going on a lot faster than her more experienced subordinates, and she made a decent showing against the head of the rival Family, but even her skills at leading couldn't compensate for the fact that she started off with a very small gang (a portion of whom were AxCrazy traitors) who had been targeted for annihilation by both a much larger gang headed by [[TheDreaded freakin' Balalaika]]. Really, the only factor she had in her favor was the Revy-level badass enforcer/love interest Ginji, and [[DoomedMoralVictor that's not enough to dig her out of the pit she started in]].

One of the Washimine family's [[{{mook}} enforcers]] who attempted to take control of the family.
----
* AmazonChaser: Revy being dangerous and violent is a ''huge'' turn-on for him.
-->'''Chaka''': You're the one I've been waiting to meet, Revy. Truth is, I've never met a lady gunman before, and now, here we are together. I wanna fuck you, Revy.
-->'''Revy''': I make it a point never to fuck assholes. Or pussies.
* AnArmAndALeg: [[spoiler:Ginji cuts off his hands before he drowns him in a swimming pool]].
* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler:See CruelAndUnusualDeath]]
* AxCrazy: Chip away the thin layer of fake bravado, and you’ll find nothing but a complete psychopath whose cruelty, love of violence, and lust for battle all define him.
* BadBoss: Treats his his own men like absolute garbage, regularly beating and threatening them for doing even the smallest thing he doesn't like, and ends up killing his remaining goons for trying to run away. That was the thing that made [[EvenEvilHasStandards Revy]] pissed with him. That, and [[KickTheDog beating up Rock]].
* BaitTheDog: Chaka is introduced as a bumbling mook who harbors an almost childlike enthusiasm for guns and shootouts, but almost immediately, he's showing his true colors as a BadBoss SmugSnake who defines StupidEvil.
* BigBadWannabe: Sees himself as a supreme badass and thinks that he'll be able to effortlessly take advantage of the conflict between the Yakuza and Hotel Moscow by kidnapping Yukio and selling her into sexual slavery while he takes over the Washimine Clan, [[SmugSnake but he's really just a small-time thug]] who only receives attention by [[TooDumbToLive going out of his way to piss off both Revy and Ginji]]. Even his {{Mooks}} are just low level gangbangers, some of whom have never even used guns before (as revealed in a manga only scene). In the end, the only thing he accomplishes is getting himself and his entire gang killed.
* BloodKnight: He wanted to duel against Revy, cowboy-style, and she responded by kicking him in the face and telling him that he was too much of a loser to have the honor of dying by her hand. Instead, he got to duel Ginji and that didn't end up well for him.
* BodyguardBetrayal: Instead of protecting the young head of the family, he kidnaps her.
* BoisterousWeakling: Brags about having a bodycount when in reality, he's at the bottom of the food chain. When he actually fights, he ends up on the receiving end of a humiliating CurbStompBattle that ends in his death.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: [[spoiler:Ginji slices off his hands and knocks him into a swimming pool to drown, while also using the blunt end of his sword to push him underwater and drown him faster.]]
* CurbStompBattle: Ends up on the receiving end of this, as Revy and Ginji very easily slaughter his entire gang and effortlessly beat up and kill Chaka himself when they finally catch up to him.
* DeathSeeker: In addition to wanting to stick his dick in Revy, he wanted to duel her to the death and would have been ecstatic to die by her hand. Revy responded by telling him that she now refused to kill him just on principle; had she not known that he wanted to die in battle against her, she would have shot him dead without a second thought, but he was such a loser that he deserved to be deprived.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Even when he's being killed, he keep shouting death threats to Ginji. However, [[DeconstructedTrope it is depicted as being rather undignified and largely pathetic]].
* DirtyCoward: He sees nothing wrong with beating a non-combatant just to provoke his colleague into a gunfight, then running away while toting a human shield when things go badly for him and shooting several of his henchmen just because he's pissed. It's also worth noting that he only ever manages to be ''somewhat'' of a threat entirely by using dirty tactics. Once he's not able to use Yukio to prevent his own demise, he's completely screwed and is then effortlessly beaten and killed by Revy and Ginji respectively.
* DumbBlonde: ''Unbelievably'' stupid and shortsighted.
* DumbMuscle: He fancies himself a modern-day gunslinger, but he's really just a low-level thug who does a lot of dumb shit and winds up getting noticed solely because of how awful his behavior is.
* EstablishingCharacterMoment: When he's first introduced, he receives a call from a woman that interrupts a meeting between the Washimine clan and Hotel Moscow. During said call, he insults and berates her as well as threatening violence towards her. Showing himself as disrespectful as well as a DomesticAbuser.
* EvilIsPetty: His entire existence revolves around petty acts of cruelty and being a colossal dick for no reason other than just because, [[StupidEvil regardless if it hinders him or not.]] In fact, he’s such a malicious idiot that the possibility of throwing himself off a highway solely just to make a mess on some poor guy’s bonnet wouldn't be out of character if he wasn’t such a coward.
%%* {{Expy}}: Of Kakihara from ''IchiTheKiller'', apparently.
* FauxAffablyEvil: When he first appears, he seems like a dimwitted yet likeable mook who harbors an almost childlike enthusiasm for guns and shootouts. However, this facade quickly dissipates after he "snaps" and reveals himself for the murderous psychopath he truly is. This also extends to how he treats his own men too, as he at first acts like he's good buddies with them, but the second one of them does something he didn't tell them to do or when things go wrong for him, he won't hesitate to horribly abuse or even murder them.
* ForTheEvulz: This is Chaka’s M.O right down to the hilt. He’s not satisfied if he hasn’t killed or tortured someone just for the jollies.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: The members of the Washimine Clan as well as their yakuza lieutenants are mostly on friendly terms with each other, but not so much with Chaka because of his stupidity and arrogance.
* GangBangers: Leads a group of them, and uses them as henchmen to kidnap Yukio.
* GroinAttack: Revy stomps on his balls right after drop kicking him to the floor. He had it coming.
* {{Greed}}: Half of his motivation for turning against the Washimine's, as their resources are running low and unable to pay him, so he decides to instead kidnap Yukio and try to sell her to Hotel Moscow.
* TheGunslinger: Fancies himself one. Revy tells him that he's nothing more than a barely-competent poser with ''serious'' delusions of grandeur. [[TooDumbToLive He doesn't take her advice]].
* HateSink: Most of the show's criminals are difficult to hate because of tragic backstories, redeeming qualities, or the fact that they're just plain cool. Chaka, on the other hand, was basically intended from day one to be loathed by the audience.
* HumiliationConga: After seeing his entourage of thugs get wiped out, he makes a run for it while taking Yukio as a hostage. Rock makes him slip with spilled cleaning fluid, bashes him in the head with a bowling pin, and liberates his hostage. Then Revy drop-kicks him in the face and grinds his balls under her heel whilst delivering a [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech Reason You Suck Speech.]] ''Then'' he goes one-on-one using a revolver against Yukio's protector, who can cut bullets in mid-air with a sword. Predictably, he loses badly, gets cut up, and is finally finished off by drowning.
* {{Hypocrite}}:
** He calls his men pussies for hiding behind cover when Revy and Ginji are attacking, yet he runs off while using Yukio as a HumanShield, hiding behind cover himself and also only managed to be somewhat of a threat by entirely using dirty tactics. He also beats up one of them and makes remarks about how his goon has a really bad temper, even though Chaka himself has a {{Hair Trigger Temper}} and will violently beat up or kill anyone over the slightest of reasons.
** He has the gall to call Ginji evil for [[spoiler:drowning him to death]], even though he's far from the last person who should ever label someone evil.
* InsufferableImbecile: Played darkly. Chaka is a sexist, homophobic, LethallyStupid thug who grossly overestimates himself and every bit as petty as he is stupid.
* {{Jerkass}}: Despite having a cast that's almost all villains, Chaka stands out as being the biggest asshole in the entire show.
* KickTheDog: He's one hell of a guy.
** Beats up poor Rock savagely for cutting in on his "conversation" with Revy, hoping to provoke her into a quickdraw duel.
** Kidnaps Yukio, lets his buddies beat her up and strip her nearly naked, and plans to sell her into [[SexSlave sexual slavery]] to "a real sicko" (and he gleefully describes in detail some of the horrible things she's going to be forced into). He also shoots and taunts Yoshida as he does this, before finishing him off with a headshot and unloading his pistol into Yoshida's corpse.
** Criticises his guys for being "pussies" during the fight in the bowling alley, whilst making his way to the exit using Yukio as a human shield, doesn't care when most of them are killed during said fight, and later shoots the last surviving gang members just to vent his anger.
* LackOfEmpathy: In addition to the rest of his [[BadBoss terrible treatment of his own men]], he also doesn't care when almost all of them are massacred by Ginji and Revy, being at most mildly irritated about it. [[EvenEvilHasStandards This causes one of his remaining men to turn against him]] and try to kill him for it.
* LaughablyEvil: The closest thing to a likable quality that Chaka might posses is that his actions are so over-the-top and idiotic, he comes across as hilarious, basically forcing the audience to laugh with him, even if they can’t stop hating him.
* LethallyStupid: A very dark and (largely) non-comedic example, but true all the same. His mix of psychopathic stupidity and a complete and utter lack of care probably makes him more dangerous to all surrounding parties than his own deliberate efforts do.
* MuggingTheMonster: Let's put it this way: when you're trying to impress/intimidate Revy by bragging about having a body count that she passed a ''long'' time ago, you are doing this. To be fair, he was far enough from Roanapur and low enough on the food chain that he probably had absolutely no clue who he was messing with, but when you have that cavalier an attitude when dealing with someone as dangerous as her ''even'' when you're confronted with tons of evidence that you are in way over your head, anything that happens to you is definitely your fault.
* NotWorthKilling: Why Revy refused to fight him and turned him over to Ginji instead. She was fully aware that he had absolutely no chance of surviving a fight against either of them, but whereas Ginji had a case of ItsPersonal with him, he was just a loser in way over his head as far as Revy was concerned.
* PayEvilUntoEvil: His men are just as cheerfully amoral and monstrous as he is, so [[BadBoss his really horrible treatment of them]], which includes violently beating one of them for beating up Yukio just because he didn't give orders to beat her, murdering one of them with a bowling ball for thinking about running away in a manga-only scene while threatening the guys said victim was talking to, forcing them to leave cover in the middle of a gunfight, abandoning them to die horribly at the hands of Revy and Ginji, and murdering his last 3 guys just because he's annoyed, doesn't earn pity.
* PoliticallyIncorrectVillain: Calls Rock a "faggot" multiple times for interrupting him hitting on Revy. Beyond the homophobia he has a violent misogynistic streak as well. Given his rap-sheet, it's just one of his many detestable characteristics.
* PsychoForHire: He's as crazy as he is stupid, and seems to be the only member of the clan mostly in it for money and violence.
* PsychopathicManchild: He's a blood-crazed moron who functions roughly on the same level as an adrenaline-fueled teenager.
* RevolversAreForAmateurs: Regardless of whatever delusions he has, he's ultimately just a weak poser with a revolver he isn't even that skilled with.
* ResignationsNotAccepted: A short scene only in the manga has four of his goons talking about bailing the moment the bullets start flying, only for Chaka to kill one if them by smashing his head with a bowling ball and then threaten the others by making it clear he's not letting them leave.
* RevolversAreJustBetter: He fancies himself a Wild West-style gunman. Revy sees this as evidence that he's a poser and a show-off.
* {{Sadist}}: Needless, gratuitous cruelty is his raison d'etre.
* SharpDressedMan: Subverted. To Western audiences, his pink suit might look fashionable but, in Japanese culture, a pink or mauve suit is actually the typical dressing code for pimps and male escorts.
* SirSwearsALot: He's one of the few people to rival ''Revy'' when it comes to having a dirty mouth.
* SmugSnake: He thinks he's a big deal, but in reality, he lacks both the wit and the skills to match his ambition. All in all, he is an absolute nobody who gets noticed only because his behavior is too atrocious to ''not'' do something about.
* TheSociopath: And not a particularly high-functioning one, at that. Whether it's associates, victims, enemies, or his own subordinates, he has no empathy or remorse.
* TheStarscream: He attempted to become the boss of the family by beating up Yukio and then wanted to rape her and sell her out to the Russians. Rock and Ginji were rather demonstrative in response.
* StupidEvil: ForTheEvulz literally defines his entire character. If there was an easier, more productive way to achieve his goals that didn't offer him quite as much room to wantonly inflict harm upon others, he would unquestioningly take the more difficult route just to be able to hurt people.
* ThrewMyBikeOnTheRoof: He's being an asshole for the sake of it and gets nothing from it.
* TooDumbToLive:
** ''Seriously'' overestimates his abilities, as shown by his [[SuicidalOverconfidence trying to take on Revy one-on-one]] even after seeing her and Ginji tear through his entire gang like hay reapers. She drop-kicked his sorry ass rather than waste the bullet, before letting Ginji cut his hands off and drown him to death.
** A manga only scene also reveals that at least some of his men have never even fired a gun before, and yet most of them and Chaka himself thought that provoking and trying to fight Ginji was a good idea. It's really no surprise [[CurbStompBattle just how badly this plan turns out for them]].
* ToThePain: Gleefully informs Yukio that she will be sold to "a real fuckin' sicko" if he can't find a better bid elsewhere and describes, in excruciating detail, that particular client's paraphilias and what she will be forced to do if she is sold to him.
* UndignifiedDeath: Gets his hands sliced off by Ginji, shoved into a swimming pool, and is left flailing around and throwing impotent death threats as he makes futile attempts to swim back to the surface, before being shoved underwater to drown in both the pool and his own blood.
* VillainousBreakdown: When Rock, Revy, and Ginji storm his hideout to rescue Yukio, he reacts with his usual bravado. However, he's quickly subjected to a HumiliationConga. The cracks start to appear when Rock snatches his hostage from right under his nose, leading him to shoot his own henchmen in the back when they try to abandon him. Things get worse when he challenges Revy to a duel, only for her to dropkick him in the face and declare him NotWorthKilling. Finally, when Ginji [[spoiler:chops off his hands and knocks him into a swimming pool to drown]], he's reduced to thrashing around and shrieking impotent death threats.
** This also happens with his goons too, as they go from confident smug assholes to panicking and losing their shit as Revy and Ginji effortlessly slaughter them, with one of them even trying to beg Revy not to kill him. By the time Revy is about to finish them off, the remaining men have given up on fighting altogether and try to run away from her before being gunned down.
* WouldHitAGirl: As can be gleaned from the above, he's an abusive asshole to both genders.
* WouldHurtAChild: Beaten, stripped, threatened, humiliated, you name it he does it or planned to do it to Yukio.
* YouHaveFailedMe: The way he kills his remaining men by shooting them in the back when they run away from him.

Yukio's immediate predecessor as the leader of the Washimine clan, and a friend of her late father Ryuzou. By the time he took charge, the clan was already in danger of being absorbed by a larger and more powerful rival. He resorts to contacting the Russian mafia for help, leading to the events of the story arc.

* DefiantToTheEnd: Attacks Balalaika with a dagger and is still violently struggling in her arms before she kills him.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: For him, the final straw came when Balalaika proposed kidnapping the rival clan leader's family members.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: As the situation with the Russians breaks down, he goes for one final meeting, fully believing that he won't make it back. He tells Yoshida that they must listen to Genji now, and that he's a good man.
* FailureIsTheOnlyOption: In the end, he is left with two equally undesirable choices: either continue cooperating with Hotel Moscow and have every other yakuza clan in Japan turn against the Washimine clan, or cut ties with their erstwhile ally and incur the wrath of the mafia.
* FingerInTheMail: Part of him was sent back to the yakuza in a briefcase.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Resorts to increasingly drastic measures in order to keep the clan going, including human trafficking.
* NeckSnap: Balalaika responds to him breaking their deal by grabbing him. She doesn't bother with guns or knives.
* NumberTwo: He was a lientenant to Ryuzou, before the latter died.

Tsugio's bodyguard, and later one of Yukio's supporters in the Yakuza.
----
* BoomHeadshot: How Chaka finishes him off.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Chaka's disrespect for the clan's authority and their guests pisses him off. When he sees Chaka beating Rock up, Yoshida slams him against the wall and calls him a disgrace.
* HeroicSacrifice: After being shot by Chaka, he attempts to hold down and distract him while Yukio runs off. Sadly it doesn't work and she ends up being violently beaten by one of Chaka's men right after Yoshida is murdered.
* MauveShirt: One of the few members of the Washimine clan who had a name and some character to him.
* PetTheDog: Tries to defend Yukio from Chaka and his group, rallying support for her.

Maki is a high-school junior who goes to the same school as Yukio. She's not involved with the Yakuza in any way at all. Instead she's very much your average Japanese high school girl and looks up to Yukio as a sempai.
----
* {{Foil}}: To Yukio, showing what she ''might'' have been if she were born in a normal family.
* GirlishPigtails: She wears her hair in two cute tails. It's a contrast with her more mature friend Yukio, who doesn't use this trope.
%%* TheIngenue
* NaiveEverygirl: She is quite unaware of Yukio's background and wouldn't imagine a girl her age would be put in charge of a Yakuza family.
* TenderTears: As Yukio embraces her status as her clan's heiress, waves her goodbye and wishes her well, Maki breaks down in tears, realizing this is probably the last time she will see her friend and there's nothing she can do about it.
