That is completely clashing with his more sociopathic personality later in the story where he only cares about self preservation and is a cold jerk for the most part. The story does a decent job of explaining the change by saying that Kei was just putting up a front of being moral so he could succeed in society, but as his sister realized all along, it was just a front. And it was a front that he quickly drops when he realizes it won't help him anymore in the situation he's in. |
