https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cordelia_resleri.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]

A ChildhoodFriend of Rorona (who calls her "Cory"). While she's technically from a noble family, their status as NouveauRiche means that Cordelia doesn't have much regard for it and dislikes it being brought up. On top of being [[HeightAngst incredibly self-conscious about how short she is]], she's also a {{Tsundere}} to behold and seems to be incapable of being straightforward about how much she cares about Rorona.

She returns in ''Totori'' as a receptionist for the Adventurer's Guild, helping Totori get settled in Arland and giving her information about her mother. In ''Lulua'', it's mentioned that she's since become Chancellor of the Arland Republic.
------
* AgeLift: She's 13 in the Japanese version of ''Rorona'' but aged up to 16 in the NISA English version. This gap was kept for ''Totori'', and since she didn't appear in future games, she wasn't affected by their localizations going back on the age alterations.
* AnonymousBenefactor: Her character event chain in ''Rorona'' revolves around her secretly slipping Rorona abnormally easy jobs (such as turning in a mere pebble) for giant loads of money, even selling off her own possessions in order to fund them. This ends up backfiring when her jobs cause Rorona to start losing trust with the townspeople out of suspicions she's being bribed, and when Rorona eventually finds out who's behind them, she doesn't feel it's right and ends up getting in a fight with her. The whole ordeal [[PoorCommunicationKills would have been avoided if Cordelia had been straightforward from the get-go]], but alas, she was too {{Tsundere}} to do so.
* BerserkButton: Mentioning her height to her is an easy way to slam the button down.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Rorona and Iksel.
* DubNameChange: Her original Japanese name was "Cuderia".
* TheGhost: She doesn't appear in person in ''Lulua'', but she's the one who sends the letter at the beginning of the game urging Rorona to hurry up and renew her license, and Rorona later takes on a particularly difficult request that she says came from Cordelia.
* GoodOldFisticuffs: Her normal attack, although it's probably better described as arm flailing.
* TheGunslinger: For some special attacks, which is taken even further in ''Totori''.
* HairTriggerTemper: It's very easy to set off her anger, especially if you're Astrid.
* HeightAngst: She hates her short height and even asks Rorona to make her a potion that would help her grow taller. Rorona's only response is to feel sorry for her for it, annoying Cordelia and embarrassing her into leaving.
* NouveauRiche: Her family seems to have purchased the nobility title just to make use of some of its benefits, so they don't get involved in politics and Cordelia herself doesn't have a particularly high opinion of her own status.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She may have a short fuse and may be prone to yelling at Rorona nearly all the time, but it's made very clear that she cares deeply for her, [[{{Tsundere}} even if she doesn't fully admit it]]. She even extends this kindness to Totori after she learns that she's Rorona's personal pupil, giving her an adventurer's license with some benefits without much of a fuss.
* LikesOlderMen: After dismissing Iksel, Sterk, and Tantris, she turns out to be utterly ''dazzled'' by Gio, and she considers the fact he's around thirty years older than her to be "not so bad".
* LittleMissSnarker: Probably a natural byproduct of her having a ditzy best friend and a cast full of weirdos surrounding her.
* TheNapoleon: Cordelia's short stature is a frequent trigger for her. Astrid in particular needles her about it, deliberately creating her first Hom to be ''exactly'' one centimeter taller than Cordelia.
* {{Ojou}}: Downplayed: she doesn't care much for her noble status and would rather it be ignored, and she also isn't overflowing with money (especially because she's still a kid who doesn't necessarily have free access to her family's finances), so she still has to sell a ton of her personal possessions to fund her AnonymousBenefactor ploy. While she does end up going into administration and politics, it's specifically because Esty had caught onto her knack for punctuality and Gio had been impressed with her rather than through any {{Nepotism}}. Other than her clothing style, the only things her status really seems to affect are that she has somewhat higher awareness of what goes on in the city as a whole, and the fact that she can summon her servants to fight for her in battle.
* OlderThanTheyLook: She's already short for her age, but she fails to hit a growth spurt by the time of ''Totori'' and still looks like a teenager despite being in her twenties.
* PintSizePowerhouse: Stats-wise, she's closer to a CrutchCharacter than she is someone like Sterk or Gio, but flagging the Adventurer Ending of ''Rorona'' requires the player to get her adventurer level up to 50, and the ending itself involves [[spoiler:her and Rorona becoming frequent monster hunters as a hobby]].
* QuestGiver: She works as a receptionist for the Adventurer's Guild in ''Totori'', making this her function for the player.
* TheVonTropeFamily: It's right there in her name, although the family name was recently purchased rather than being OldMoney.
* TinyTyrannicalGirl: She's bossy for someone with such a short stature, and in ''Totori'', Filly and Totori learn the hard way how bad of an idea it is to make her angry at work.
* {{Tsundere}}: Truly cares for Rorona's well-being, but she would rather die than admit it.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iksel_resleri.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]

A chef who works at the Sunrise Cafe and another ChildhoodFriend of Rorona (who calls him "Iksy"). He's usually a courteous young lad, but he becomes HotBlooded whenever cooking is involved. When Rorona takes him out on her outings, he often finds unusual ingredients and uses them as inspiration for new dishes. He forms a "cooking rivalry" with both Rorona and Totori over the course of their games.

In ''Lulua'', Iksel is traveling around the world to share his cooking and thus does not appear in the game, but his disciple Wild appears in his place at the Sunrise Cafe.
-------
* AscendedExtra: He shows up as the chef working at the Star's Cocoon Cafe in ''[[VideoGame/AtelierReslerianaForgottenAlchemyAndThePolarNightLiberator Resleriana]]'', a context that would usually be reserved for a more prominent protagonist character.
* ChefOfIron: He's so determined to get the best ingredients that he happily joins Rorona (and later Totori) in gathering missions, fighting monsters with his frying pan.
* ChildhoodFriends: With Rorona and Cordelia.
* CookingDuel: He starts one with both Rorona and Totori. In both cases, he gets overtaken by [[SeriousBusiness how seriously he takes it]] and starts turning into a SoreLoser, and he has to remind himself he should be focusing more on doing it for the craft and not be so obsessed with winning.
* CombatMedic: He can cook up meals to recover HP during battle, and ''[[VideoGame/AtelierReslerianaForgottenAlchemyAndThePolarNightLiberator Resleriana]]'' puts him in a full-on Supporter position.
* ComfortFood: His reason for getting into cooking is that he made a meal to cheer up a young Rorona when she was crying, and after seeing how happy it made her, he was inspired by the idea of making others happy in the same way.
* DoesNotLikeSpam: He dislikes mushrooms.
* DontYouDarePityMe: He has this reaction if he loses the Cabbage Festival to Rorona, and he takes it more personally than anyone else in her vicinity does.
* FireBreathingDiner: In ''Plus'', if his LimitBreak is used to end a fight, he will eat a super-spicy piece of meat and destroy the enemy with a giant fireball.
* FryingPanOfDoom: His weapon of choice.
* HotBlooded: Described as such in his official game profile.
* TheNotLoveInterest: Despite being Rorona's [[ChildhoodFriends Childhood Friend]] in a game where she gets ShipTease of some sort with most of her party members, Iksel is the one with the most neutral relationship with her, and one might think he's more inclined to be in love with cooking than he is with her. At most, it's said that she was the reason he got into cooking in the first place, and Hom comments that they're acting LikeAnOldMarriedCouple in one of the ''Rorona'' endings.
* PassingTheTorch: Prior to the events of ''Lulua'', he entrusted the Sunrise Cafe to his disciple Wild, gifting him his frying pan as well.
* SeriousBusiness: '''Cooking.''' It's to the point where sensing Totori starting to rival his cooking abilities gets him to potentially go ''all the way across the continent'' to meet her in Alanya and challenge her.
* SupremeChef: His aspiration, to the point he's constantly thinking up new dishes and challenging Rorona and Totori to compete with him as rivals.

A traveling dancer who arrives in Arland with her two cat-like living puppets named Aranya and Horoholo. She's [[ShrinkingViolet extremely shy]], but she manages to strike up a friendship with Rorona, who nicknames her "Liona". For some strange reason, her puppets can talk and even use mysterious abilities in battle...

She reappears in ''Lulua'' as the owner and star performer of the Ar Hollow.

-------
* BewareTheNiceOnes: According to her puppets, she used to impulsively attack any stranger who tried to talk to her.
* BurnTheWitch: [[spoiler:The reason she can't stay in one place for very long as this tends to be the reaction once people realize she uses magic. [[AbusiveParents Her own parents]] were a part of [[TorchesAndPitchforks the first mob]].]]
* TheBusCameBack: After vanishing from the series after the first game, Lionela makes a surprise return in ''Lulua'' as a bartender.
* GirlishPigtails: Her pigtails highlight her naive and innocent nature in the first game. Notably, they're gone in ''Lulua'' when she's a more confident adult.
* GrewASpine: In ''Lulua'', while she's still easily embarrassed, she's much more confident and assertive to the point of being able to run her own bar.
* TheMedic: Her skills lean towards support, with her sharing the healer role with Iksel.
* PutOnABus: She disappears from the original trilogy after ''Rorona'' and wouldn't reappear until ''Lulua'', a game released a whole ten years later.
* SheIsAllGrownUp: She's matured significantly as an adult by the time of her reappearance in ''Lulua'', and her patrons adore her for being a graceful dancer and gorgeous lady.
* ShipTease: She's hinted to be harboring feelings for Rorona, something that extends beyond the original game and into ''Questboard'' (where a [[CinderellaPlot Cinderella parody]] event casts Rorona as her "princess") and ''Lulua'' (where it's hinted she still holds Rorona in this regard even after all these years). Sadly for her, if that's the case, [[ObliviousToLove Rorona herself has no idea at all]].
* ShrinkingViolet: She's constantly stammering and only barely manages to open up to Rorona. [[spoiler:It's out of trauma from having been ostracized by others for her use of magic.]]
* SplitPersonality: [[spoiler:Her puppets are actually two parts of her personality that she subconsciously gave to her dolls. They are aware of it, but she is not, and while they try to "disappear" and get her to move on, she turns out to not be ready yet. By the time of ''Lulua'', she at least doesn't seem to need to animate them anymore, but she does still talk to them.]]
* WrongContextMagic: Alchemy is treated as a disciplined study with [[MagicAIsMagicA particular rules]], so Lionela's puppets somehow having healing skills and elemental attacks sticks out. [[spoiler:It turns out that this isn't just GameplayAndStorySegregation, since Lionela actually ''does'' somehow have magic powers that got her to be kicked out of her own town.]]
* YouLoseAtZeroTrust: If you fail to get her friendship up quickly enough after town, she'll simply leave Arland and never come back.

!!! '''Voiced by:''' Creator/TakayukiKondo (Japanese), Creator/GrantGeorge (English)
!!! '''Appears in:''' ''[[VideoGame/AtelierRoronaTheAlchemistOfArland Rorona]]'' (playable)
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tantris.jpg]]
%%[[caption-width-right:250:some caption text]]

A traveling musician [[TheCharmer who loves flirting]]. In actuality, he's the estranged son of the Minister who was summoned by him to help him sabotage Rorona's atelier. However, not only is he not very motivated to do so in the first place, meeting Rorona also gets him to reconsider his own path in life in the process.

He uses the alias "[[SdrawkcabAlias Tantris]]" while in Arland, and Rorona nicknames him "Tant".

-------
* TheBard: Not only does he play the lute outside of combat, he also uses it to buff Rorona and friends.
* BecomingTheMask: Downplayed in that he didn't even really ''want'' to sabotage her anyway, but once he joins Rorona's party, he continues helping her in exactly the same way he'd said he would. Once he reveals his status as TheMole to Rorona, Rorona sees absolutely no reason to do anything about it, because he never ended up sabotaging her to begin with and there's nothing stopping them from just continuing as normal.
* CoolAndUnusualPunishment: The reason why he doesn't make a physical appearance in ''Totori''? Cordelia explains that he's holed up in his office because his father shaved his head in his sleep.
* TheDandy: A straightforward one, paying exceptional attention to his appearance and obsessed with wooing young women. The fact he acts this way is why Rorona ends up being oblivious to what's implied to be ''actual'' affections on his part.
* EasilyForgiven: He's surprised by how easily Rorona forgives him upon learning that he was sent to sabotage her. Rorona points out that regardless of what he was sent there for, he didn't actually do anything.
* TheEasyWayOrTheHardWay: In ''Rorona Plus'', he confides in Rorona about his dilemma between following in his father's footsteps, something that would pose a lot of challenges for him ahead, or continuing his life as a WanderingMinstrel, which would be an easy life but one with no changes. Rorona advises him that the fact he's having the dilemma in the first place suggests that he actually wants to take the hard way, because if it weren't for that, he'd just go with the easy way anyway.
* LadykillerInLove: He's implied to have started developing feelings for Rorona, but unfortunately for him, nothing comes of it.
* TheMole: He was summoned to Arland because he was ''supposed'' to be this on Meredith's behalf. In actuality, he wasn't even that interested in doing it from day one, and Rorona being a nice girl who doesn't deserve any of that only solidifies it further.
* PowerFist: His weapons of choice include a variety of punching weapons, including brass knuckles.
* PutOnABus: He never appears again in the sequels aside from a quick mention in ''Totori''.
* SdrawkcabAlias: "Tantris" is a very sloppily reversed version of his real name, "Tristan", and anyone who actually knows who he is isn't remotely fooled.
* WanderingMinstrel: He presents himself as one to Rorona and apparently actually does live as one most of the time. In actuality, it's because he's trying to get out of his duties to his father, and he admits in ''Rorona Plus'' that keeping this up will result in his life just being monotonous. He's finally convinced to leave this behind at the end of his character event chain, although ''Totori'' reveals that Meredith still has to resort to extreme measures to keep him focused.
* WellDoneSonGuy: He tries not to admit it, but he actually does want his father's approval, something Astrid calls him out on.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/esty_resleri.jpg[[/labelnote]]]]

A receptionist at Arland Castle who supplies Rorona with requests from the townsfolk. Open and friendly, she often helps Rorona with advice, although she also tends to be conscious of her surroundings and enjoys gossip. She's also heavily concerned about the idea of becoming an OldMaid and is desperate to find a husband.

While she does not appear herself in ''Totori'', her sister [[Characters/AtelierTotoriTheAdventurerOfArland Filly]] does. In ''Meruru'', Esty appears as an escort for Gio and is revealed to have formidable combat skills of her own, and ''Rorona Plus'' retroactively [[AscendedExtra promotes her to the playable roster]], adding an extra event chain for good measure.
-------
* BigSisterBully: She forced her shy and insecure sister Filly into taking her place as a receptionist under [[HairTriggerTemper Cordelia]] so she could go out and try to find a date of her own in ''Totori''. According to her in ''Meruru'', she doesn't intend to bully Filly, but her way of getting Filly to have more experience with people borders on SinkOrSwimMentor levels.
* TheConfidant: Since all requests have to go through her, she ends up being a SecretKeeper for Cordelia and Astrid when they try to secretly slip Rorona requests in order to help her.
* CoolBigSis: To Rorona and Sterk. Towards her real sister, not so much.
* CrissCrossAttack: Her skills all involve multiple quick slashes from varied angles with her two blades.
* DrunkPersonalityChange: While nowhere near as bad as Tiffani, she becomes ''extremely'' handsy with Meruru and Filly after getting drunk.
* DualWielding: Wields two swords in combat.
* DubNameChange: Her name was originally "Esty Erhard" in Japanese, but NISA felt up to invoking a little BlackComedy and renamed her to "[[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything Esty Dee]]".
* FlechetteStorm: At the end of her Lovely Shadow skill cinematics, she throws dozens of knives at the enemy.
* OldMaid: She's self-conscious about her {{Workaholic}} life cutting into her social life and is increasingly worried about not being able to get a husband with every passing year. By the time she's in her forties in ''Meruru'', she's so fixated on this that she lashes out at her friend for getting married and "betraying" her, and she's the most desperate to get her hands on Astrid's [[FountainOfYouth Potion of Youth]].
* PromotedToPlayable: She joins the combat party in ''Meruru'' and is retroactively made into a party member in ''Rorona Plus''.
* QuestGiver: In ''Rorona'', she's the one who manages Rorona's town requests.
* ShipperOnDeck: She teases Sterk a few times about his relationship with Rorona, although it's hard to tell how serious she is when she also pokes fun at him about his failed relationship with Astrid and points out how dangerous it would be for him to feel that way towards [[MistakenForPedophile a girl more than ten years younger than him]]. Ironically, by the time things actually ''do'' start happening with their relationship, she's moved onto other issues.
* TookALevelInBadass: She goes from QuestGiver in ''Rorona'' to [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8LSKDcsnO4&feature=related this]] in ''Meruru''.

A [[OurHomunculiAreDifferent Homunculus]] Astrid makes to assist Rorona and serve as her "sibling", whose gender is selectable based on Rorona's answer to a question asking whether she would like a brother or a sister. Nicknamed "Hom", they assist with Rorona's synthesis and gathering. Both the male and female Homs appear together in ''Meruru'' to provide similar services and to help take care of the de-aged Rorona.
-------
* AdorablyPrecociousChild: Both Homs appear to be young children, and the first one was created to serve as Rorona's younger sibling.
* TheAgeless: Aside from the wardrobe change, they appear to have not changed at all in ''Meruru''.
* ArtificialHuman: They're homunculi, after all. Apparently, the method of creating them involves something that Rorona (and later Totori and Meruru) [[YouDoNotWantToKnow isn't old enough to know yet]].
* DeadpanSnarker: They can provide BrutalHonesty commentary on what's going on in the atelier, complete with stone-faced delivery.
* ElegantGothicLolita: The female Hom adopts this look in ''Meruru''.
* ExtremeDoormat
--> ''"Rorona's and Astrid's orders (requests) are absolute to Hom and it would do anything for them without complaining. Leave it alone without orders and it might throw a tantrum."''
* KindheartedCatLover: Hom tries to adopt a cat in ''Rorona'', which Astrid forbids. The Hom then starts spending time with the cat on its own without Astrid's permission, the only order it's shown to disobey. In actuality, Astrid doesn't mind the disobeyed order and finds Hom's behavior to be fascinating.
* TheOneGuy: If selected, Male Hom will be the only male presence in the workshop as well as the [[BeachEpisode beach event]]. In ''Meruru'', he's the only male resident in a workshop alongside four other girls.
* TheStoic: They seem to be emotionless at first glance, but further interactions reveal that they do have feelings, just very restrained ones.

The proprietor of the sundries store behind Rorona's workshop, Tiffani is a widowed woman whose beauty often attracts male customers to her shop.
------
* DrunkPersonalityChange: While she's a ProperLady when sober, once she gets plastered, she can go as far as [[KissingUnderTheInfluence groping any girl in the vicinity and cuddling them through the night]], as Rorona, Totori, and Filly learn the hard way. She completely forgets about it by the next morning.
* DubNameChange: Her original name in Japanese was "Tifana".
* DudeMagnet: Her presence attracts several middle-aged men to her shop. Strangely enough, Tiffani doesn't seem to mind and even complains in ''Totori'' when Pamela starts drawing the men away from her.
* HeadTurningBeauty: Several men, Rorona's father Ryan included, only go into her shop to gaze at her. As one might imagine, their wives aren't too happy about that.

A [[ImprobableAge very young]] and cheeky traveling merchant who visits Rorona's shop once a month. He returns in ''Lulua'' as a blacksmith and Hagel's disciple, although he still uses his business acumen to help run the shop.
-------
* TheBusCameBack: He makes a return in ''Lulua'' as a blacksmith after not even being mentioned for two games.
* FriendlyShopkeeper: Notable in the sense that he's the one who's most enthusiastic about doing things for the money and trying to maximize profit, but he's not remotely shady nor manipulative at all and even gives Rorona some business tips. When he shows up as a blacksmith in ''Lulua'', he still approaches the business with the goal of making money first, but while Lulua is initially a little off-put by it, she lightens up when she learns that he also considers keeping his word and maintaining trust with his customers to be an important part of it. He also tells Lulua that he actually admired Rorona quite a lot back during ''Rorona'', because he was impressed by the fact she was doing everything out of pure selflessness rather than for money.
* IntrepidMerchant: He regularly goes to places like the Ster Highlands, the same place Sterk had warned Rorona against going because of how dangerous it is, to get materials. He's also only ''eight''.
* MysteriousPast: Not much is known about him, how he manages to get rare items in monster-infested areas, or why he's working as a merchant at such a young age. The only thing we're told is that he's working to take care of his sick father.
* PunnyName: While not pointed out in the game, his name plays on "cole" being the in-game currency.
* TravelingSalesman: Unlike the other ''Rorona'' shopkeepers, he comes to Rorona's door himself every so often. He settles into Hagel's blacksmith shop in ''Lulua''.
* WiseBeyondTheirYears: He's only eight, but he runs his own business and has an extremely sharp knack for it. He sometimes even gives Rorona tips while he visits.

The minister of the kingdom of Arland. As the strongest advocate for shutting down Rorona's atelier for the sake of making room for more factories, he's the closest thing ''Rorona'' has to a BigBad, although his poor attempts at sabotage make him a HarmlessVillain at worst. He and his son Tristan have a strained relationship, but Meredith calls him back to Arland in the hopes of getting him to assist in his sabotage and succeed him in politics.
-------
* AdaptationalNiceGuy: The ''Atelier Questboard'' version of ''Rorona''[='=]s events has Rorona's final assignment involve her turning in a medicine to save him and many others in the country from [[BookEnds a similar ailment to one that nearly killed her parents]], getting him to acknowledge Rorona's abilities and alchemy's potential for the future despite Rorona having technically missed the assignment deadline.
* CorruptBureaucrat: Fundamentally speaking, he's trying to have Rorona's atelier shut down because he's legitimately convinced it's getting in the way of progress. The problem is that he goes about it in petty and dirty ways, directly trying to sabotage Rorona's efforts and not caring about the fact she's a fourteen-year-old girl trying to make a living. Late in ''Rorona'', Gio finds out that he's also been using bandits to illicitly test bombs behind the scenes.
* GenderBlenderName: Meredith is generally considered a woman's name, but nobody remarks on this in-universe. The name itself is the result of a DubNameChange, since his original Japanese name was "Meriodus".
* HarmlessVillain: His attempts to sabotage Rorona are all just practical jokes for the most part.
* IndispensableScoundrel: Upon learning that Meredith had been conducting secret bomb tests, Gio points out that it's theoretically possible to assume that Meredith might be staging a takeover. However, since it's technically just an assumption, Gio chooses to let it slide for the time being, pointing out that Meredith ''is'' doing a competent job helping run the kingdom otherwise, so he simply warns Meredith that he's pushing things a little too far.
* ParentsAsPeople: When he gets completely drunk one night, he rants about trying to raise his son as a single father working to make ends meet, and while he admits he couldn't have been there for his son very much, he's upset that his son had to walk out on him and is worried about whether he'll be able to pass on his job to his son the right way. Tantris, overhearing this, carries him home and laments that he should have told him all of this to his face.

[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ryan_laura.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:300:Laura (left) and Ryan (right)]]
Rorona's parents, whom Rorona had ended up in debt to save from terminal illness. They love traveling, having often left Rorona alone at home as a child, and they spend the duration of the game traveling to various places offscreen and occasionally coming back with materials once in a while.
-------
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Laura, who can be quite terrifying when angered.
* BoyfriendBlockingDad: Ryan does not react well when he mistakes Tantris for Rorona's boyfriend.
* MistakenForCheating: When Hom is introduced to them as Rorona's "sibling", both of them jump to the wrong conclusion and accuse each other of cheating, almost getting to the point of a divorce before Astrid finally steps in.
* ParentalNeglect:
** They're rarely at home, often going out traveling, and they ''still'' continue traveling even after Rorona ends up becoming Astrid's slave for their sake. It's partially because of this that Astrid ends up becoming somewhat of a parental surrogate for Rorona. At best, they at least have the decency to come home to congratulate Rorona on finishing her assignments.
** It's even worse in the Japanese version, where, in a set of lines that were heavily toned down in the English version, they insinuate that they see Rorona ([[PluckyGirl one of the most self-reliant characters in the game]]) as too needy, claiming that staying away from her is for her own good but also clearly seeing Rorona's situation as an opportunity to go on a trip "for themselves" without having to even think about taking care of her. [[EveryoneHasStandards Astrid]] is not amused.
* ParentalObliviousness: Probably the most disturbing part about their ParentalNeglect is that they ''legitimately believe'' abandoning Rorona to her fate is best for her. They're perfectly kind and caring to her when they actually ''are'' in the vicinity, but they're just so airheaded that they don't see anything wrong with how irresponsible they're being.
* SharedFamilyQuirks: They're just as airheaded as Rorona is. The Japanese version has Astrid comment on the irony that Rorona must have been "a little too blessed" with them (in the sense that the same airheadedness Rorona got from them is what's getting them to be [[ParentalNeglect absolutely awful parents to her]]).
* ShipperOnDeck: In contrast to Ryan, Laura readily approves of Tantris when she mistakes him for Rorona's boyfriend.
* StrongFamilyResemblance: Rorona's hair and eye colors seem to have come right from her father.
* UngratefulBastard: The entire reason Rorona is stuck having to WorkOffTheDebt for Astrid in the first place is because she got Astrid to save them from dying, but as far as they're concerned, that's her own problem to deal with, even if it means getting run out of town because of Astrid's laziness. And even then, they ''still'' see Rorona as too much of a "needy" burden to bother putting in any effort for beyond getting her occasional souvenirs.
