[[folder:Kelaud and the Sky Tower '''MANY SPOILERS''']]
-> At an early sunset, Kelaud is being escorted to the beach with his village's women and children as it is under Chimera attack. Tired of waiting, [[TheHero Kelaud]] leaves to become a stronger swordsman, grouping with his childhood girl friend [[TheLadette Saylia]] and his older brother [[GenreSavvy Ferenan]]. [[spoiler:Going to the Mountain Road, they are attacked by two members of the Night Caste, but joined by a whimsical fairy, [[WhiteMage Zylvala]]. With her help, the heroes manage to fend off the attack. After making their way through the Mountain Road, the party enters the first dungeon in the game, the Sinister Castle, the Night Caste's head quarters. Before making their way through it, they are joined by Luik and Geauset, who need their help in the Village's Camp to fend off an attack from a horde of monsters. Coming back to the Sinister Castle, the party storms it in hopes of stopping the endless night, but eventually are forced to make their way back to the Camp when they get nearly caught by a vampire. Sure of their newfound strength, they undo the Chimera traps and make a breakthrough to their village, only to find it in ruins, all warriors killed, and the altar desecrated. They are attacked there by an ogre, but they manage to vanquish it. After this depressing sight, it's more motivated than ever that they run again to the Sinister Castle, defeating all enemies until reaching the vampire to fight him in the throne room. They defeat him, but discover that he was but a distraction, and the Night Caste has made their way through the Desert Road to reach the Sky Tower. Tailing them, the party reaches the Sky Tower too late. A BossBonanza ensues until the party reaches the top of the Tower, with an altar similar to the one in the Village Ruins. There they stop the Night Caste's ritual, and face the Night Caste's own heroes, defeating them to finally restore the world to the state it was.]]
!!!Tropes associated with Kelaud and the Sky Tower:
* AdamSmithHatesYourGuts: Averted. Marak, Luik and Geauset are the only merchants, and they sell stuff at a fixed price. High-level equipment is always found rather than bought.
* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: Averted. You can only ever have four characters in this game.
* AscendedExtra: Revin. Originally, the test-run-only vendor and referred to as Emoboy, now a WalkingSpoiler.
* AttentionDeficitOohShiny[[spoiler:: Zylvala.]]
* BeefGate: The Chimera trap at the beginning. When you disable it, you're faced with a Chimera. Even if you manage to defeat it, if it's too early, you're sent in an endless loop of battling Chimeras[[spoiler: until Ferenan learns Water]].
* BigBad[[spoiler:: The Night Caste are the only actual villains, being responsible for all monster attacks against the Mountain Village, the desert expansion, and trying to TakeOverTheWorld via their ritual in the Sky Tower.]]
* ConvenientQuesting: Averted. The world is small, but you do have to go back and forth through the Mountain Road time and time again. It gets easier after the first one, mercifully.
* CriticalHit: Kelaud and Saylia can get critical hits passively. Items can also give more crits, like Kelaud's Golden Sword weapon line, Kelaud and Saylia's accessory Resolute Soul.
* CrutchCharacter / MagikarpPower[[spoiler: Zylvala manages to be both. When you get her, she's over-leveled and comes in with Saint, the most powerful spell available at that point. After gaining a few levels, her inability to use weapons or shields set her behind, until later when her stat growth becomes noticeably higher than the other party members and she doesn't need the equipment.]]
* EasingIntoTheAdventure: You can't just go to the Mountain Road. First you have to reach level 10 via [[LevelGrinding farming hornets and bats]].
* ElementalCrafting: Brass is magical in this game, and makes equipment among the best. Kelaud's Brass Sword is only beaten by its direct upgrade Excalibur, or other legendary-level equipment (Muramasa and Tyrfing[[note]]These weapons are actually in the default RPG Maker VX Ace weapon lineup[[/note]] and the above-mentioned Excalibur for Kelaud, Trishula, Gungnir and Parashu for Saylia, and Dainsleif, the Azert and the Zephyrus Claw[[note]]The latter two are also in the default RPG Maker VX Ace weapon lineup[[/note]] for Ferenan).
* ExperienceBooster: One of the True Mirror's effects. Also, the Brass Powder.
* HeroesPreferSwords: Kelaud is TheHero and can only equip swords as weapons. His most particular weapon line is the [[KatanasAreJustBetter katanas]].
* JackOfAllStats: Every character's stats are the same, not factoring weapons or armor[[spoiler:, except Zylvala, whose stats are still all equal]]. Apart from skills, any character can take any role in the team with more or less efficiency.
* JokeCharacter: The game's early concept was essentially ''Joke Characters: The Game'': [[LuckBasedMission Kelaud's first fight against a pair of slimes (the weakest enemies) could easily become unwinnable without help from the omnipresent hax]]. Even after Saylia and Ferenan joined it wasn't much better. Since the hax was so dissatisfying, now the game is more along the lines of ''WeakButSkilled: The Game''.
* KarlMarxHatesYourGuts: You can't sell anything ever in this game.
* NominalImportance: Averted. All enemies are referred to by their title in the Night Caste or their species, while even your town merchant has a name (Geauset).
* OneSizeFitsAll: Any pair of characters can share equipment. Then again, all characters are teenagers nearly the same size.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: The party is this. Kelaud, Saylia and Ferenan know each other, but to everyone else they're still a poser, a wannabe and a wimp.
* UselessUsefulSpell: Saylia learns Darkness spells. It would be useful were you not fighting the Night Caste, meaning half of the time, it gets resisted, absorbed, or reflected.

!???
-> Two academies training fighters clash with each other at the long-awaited summer [[TournamentArc tournament]], where the older Toukidou Academy looking to dethrone the Obelisk Academy of superhumans after their 5 years of existence, and complete dominance.
* ArtificialHuman: The superhumans are all genetically engineered.
* HeroAntagonist: The antagonist Obelisk students are mostly on the nicer, more heroic side, especially when you compare them to [[{{Delinquent}} Kurama]]. That doesn't make any of Toukidou {{Villain Protagonist}}s, though.
* NotJustATournament: Averted. No matter the amount of politicking behind the scenes, both from Toukidou and Obelisk, the tournament remains just a tournament.
[[folder:Toukidou Academy — Contestants]]
!!Shiraishi Akiteru
* AfterActionPatchUp: A prerequisite for him, consequence of his lack of mana control.
* AlmightyJanitor: Discussed. While Akiteru is easy to underestimate at first sight, it's fairly well-known that he is very powerful, and the top physical threat of the academy, and possibly the entire tournament.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Downplayed. Akiteru's TrainingFromHell has done wonders, but it's his magic power that pushes him to superhuman level.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Discussed. While Akiteru is at a disadvantage against higher-range fighters by default, his physical prowess allows him to exploit their often weaker defenses just as often as his limitations have made fighting them problematic.
* FlorenceNightingaleEffect: It was averted one year ago when Seika turned him down.
* GeniusBruiser: Each word is a separate part of his fighting style. Compared to Itsuu, he's more of a bruiser.
* HeroicRROD: His sole magic trick is burning so much energy that he reaches superhuman physical performance. Sadly, most of the energy he uses is a waste due to his lack of control over his magic power, and he often ends up hurting himself in the process, and that's without counting he pushes the limits of UninhibitedMusclePower.
* HighHopesZeroTalent: While he does have large magic power to tap into, Akiteru is hopeless at controlling his magic.
* ItOnlyWorksOnce: Akiteru's quick to pick on enemy techniques, enforcing the trope when it comes to attacking him.
* MagicEnhancement: His only use of magic.
* MasterSwordsman: Discussed. It's noted that while he doesn't have any fancy moves and even his "secrets" are surprisingly basic, he has mastered basic swordplay to such an extent that it is enough when used with all the power he can put behind it.
* PowerIncontinence: His mana control is so poor that he can hurt himself by simply being tense.
* SpeedBlitz: His main way of winning is by hitting so hard and fast that no opponent can take it.
* UninhibitedMusclePower: The second part of his power is to ignore his own body's survival instincts, skyrocketing his athleticism even further.
!!Anais Deldorado
* AccentSlipUp: Anais will occasionally speak Spanish when upset.
* ActionGirlfriend
* AmazonianBeauty: Despite being noticeably muscular, the compliments to her beauty are usually completely unrelated. If anything, she actually wonders if her muscles don't detract from her beauty.
* {{BFS}}: Her sword is three times as large and longer than pretty much everyone else's.
* BigSisterWorship: She loves her older sister Diana.
* ConvectionSchmonvection: Averted. The air around her flames is really hot. Her SuperMode turns the air around her hot too, and it tires her out after a while, especially if she stops moving.
* TheDreaded: To a number of teams who can't withstand her offensive game.
* DumbIsGood: She insists on knowing as little as possible about her opponents. In general, theory never sticks on her.
* FamilyThemeNaming: Anais means "blessed". She's got an older sister named Diana (meaning "divine").
* FieryRedhead: Her reddish gold hair matches her fire magic and passionate personality.
* GlacierWaif: Despite her average frame, she is one of the hardest hitters in the tournament.
* GlassCannon: She's very strong both physically and magically, using an efficient combination of high firepower and strong sword attacks to terrorize the competition. However, her huge sword and techniques leave her with lackluster defenses.
* GracefulLoser: She readily admits that Itsuu got her beat and usually refers to him as a better fighter than her, despite actually having won that fight.
* MasterOfAll: Her intense style, and proficiency with both her tower sword and fire magic make her look like this.
* MsFanservice
* RedOniBlueOni: The feisty, hot-tempered red to Itsuu's collected, analytical blue.
* ScarletSteel: The imagery behind her giant sword.
* StuffBlowingUp: Most of her magic arts.
* UnskilledButStrong: Downplayed. There isn't much in the way of skill you can get with a sword as big as hers. She's also not as skilled as many of her opponents with her magic, but her power largely makes up for it.
* WarriorPrincess: Second princess of the western kingdom of Terredor, also a top-ranking fighter.
!!Matou Kansei
* BrilliantButLazy: His invisibility power is extremely powerful, but Kansei neglects physical exercise, because he feels it's not worth the time he'd need to pour into it to improve noticeably.
* CripplingOverspecialization: Subverted. When his invisibility doesn't cut it, he still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve that allow him to fight without it.
* GuysSmashGirlsShoot: Inverted. Kise slashes, he shoots.
* RainOfArrows
* TheRival: To Itsuu. He shares his backstory of being TheUnfavourite within his family because of his magic power (though it didn't hit him as bad as he was looked down upon for his lackluster power compared to Itsuu being disregarded for his lack of magic power).
* SignificantGreenEyedRedhead: Averted. Kansei is really a background character.[[spoiler: He only becomes important when he acts as a heroic surrogate in his last match, where he needs to win so Itsuu and Anais have a chance to qualify.]]
* SuperpowerLottery: Invisibility is quite a strong power to have. So strong in fact, that Kansei used to entirely rely on it.
* WeakButSkilled: His ultimate position. He hasn't got the strongest magical offense, merely an extremely useful power and the wits to pull off wins against opponents that would surely overwhelm him in a straight fight.
* YouCantFightFate: He used to be firmly on this side, though after his defeat to Itsuu he has gotten willing to give a try at uphill battles.
!!Tsujikura Kurama
* BloodKnight: His troublemaking is all in the name of getting into good fights.
* BornWinner: His insane reflexes surpass even that of the intensely-trained Itsuu and Akiteru by quite a lot.
* JapaneseDelinquent
* {{Jerkass}}: He's got quite a bad attitude.
* NobleDemon: He does not bully weaklings, and will [[BullyHunter turn it on anyone who does]].
* PayEvilUntoEvil: He tends to get vicious against people who have proven themselves to be vicious.
* UnskilledButStrong: His default fighting style is hammering the opponent with his sword. He only uses elaborate moves when he needs them.
!!Tamiya Seika
* TheAce: As the StudentCouncilPresident and the #4 ranked fighter.
** BrokenAce: She laments being ultimately unable to do both at top level, and she has accumulated ''a lot'' of ring rust. [[spoiler:Her lack of focus and general rust costs her team the first two fights.]]
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: She outpaces her opponents' actions by detecting their brain signals, telling her when they are about to make a move.
* FlashStep: Her manipulation of electromagnetic fields makes her able to essentially RideTheLightning.
* MagnetismManipulation: Seika has refined her lightning powers, extending them to using magnetic fields to make herself (or her sword) faster.
* {{Master Swordswoman}}: Subverted. Despite having trained extensively in ''two'' swordfighting styles, she is never referred to as a master, since her top asset remains her lightning magic.
* OneHitKill: Despite mostly being a mage, she still has a lightning-speed quickdraw.
* ShockAndAwe: She's a lightning mage.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Toukidou Academy — Side Characters]]
!!Anzenji Shigure
-> Toukidou Academy's director. She introduced the fight-based ranking there.
* BadassInANiceSuit: As the school director, she is always wearing a suit. It conveys her no-nonsense professional attitude.
* BenevolentBoss: Itsuu and Akiteru never would've been able to make names for themselves and enter the tournament without her help.
* CatchPhrase: "This is why you're not married." Usually directed at Naisu's childishness or Aconite's awkwardness.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: It is largely remarked that she made Toukidou Academy a lot better. After taking the helm at Toukidou, her first change was to implement the ranking system via fighting, compared to ranking via test, because it was clearly more pratical when the goal is to win tournaments.
* SmokingIsGlamorous: She's always smoking.
!!Takeda Yuuto
-> Seika's boyfriend and the Student Council's Vice-President. Since he's small and his power is healing, he's ill-suited for combat, instead he serves as the competitors' support and informant.
* HealingHands: His power, and the reason he runs the Health Care Club while Seika's StudentCouncilPresident.
* PerpetualSmiler: Downplayed. He's never seen without a smile across his face, even as he's patching Seika up after a defeat, but the situation is never serious enough to make him drop his smile.
* ShorterMeansSmarter: He's the smallest guy around, yet he acts as TheStrategist for the Toukidou competitors.
* TinyGuyHugeGirl: Downplayed: while he is ridiculously small, he is in a relationship with Seika, who stands at 5'5.5".
* TinySchoolboy: The NiceGuy variant.
!!Aconite
-> The top student to ever attend Toukidou Academy, she is now fighting in the adult league.
* InstantDeathRadius: Her [[HyperAwareness Seihenken]] technique grants her absolute mastery over her surroundings, making her almost impossible to approach, even in the adult leagues.
* MasterOfYourDomain: She has achieved absolute control of her body through her magic. Contrary to Naisu, she only maintains her youth rather than actually turning her body back to that of a 12-year-old.
* MasterSwordswoman: Her only sword training comes from her time in Toukidou Academy, but she has gotten so good that it is notable whenever her opponents manages to break her [[InstantDeathRadius Seihenken]].
* MundaneUtility: She has achieved near-absolute body control, and uses that talent to eat sweets and never get fat.
* StealthMentor: When she learned that Itsuu used a sword style similar to hers, she attacked him in order to help him refine his techniques. She taught him a couple more times before the tournament.
* SweetTooth: She is never seen without at least one lollipop in her hand or mouth.
* WorldsStrongestWoman: She is widely considered the best fighter to ever graduate from Toukidou Academy, and by that logic one of the best fighters in the world.
!!Shiraishi Yukio
-> Akiteru's father, who lost all faith in him after trying to train him.
* ArchnemesisDad: Averted. [[WellDoneSonGuy Akiteru is still trying to get his attention and approval]].
* GentleTouchVsFirmHand: Started training Akiteru with the Gentle Touch approach. When that didn't work, he went further and further into Firm hand territory, all while never getting any result.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: He trained Akiteru [[AbusiveParent harder]] and [[TrainingFromHell harder]] to get him to control his powers better. He only managed to get Akiteru to injure himself and run from the house to avoid another incredibly likely and probably deadly training session.
* HeelRealization: When he sees Akiteru push himself to injury in the finals, he fears for his son's life, and is immediately chastised by Naisu and Shigure for causing the situation.
* TheSocialDarwinist: He believes that power belongs to the gifted. If you can't use your powers, you are [[UnPerson nothing to him]], [[IHaveNoSon son or not]].
* SoProudOfYou: He eventually acknowledges his faults, and goes to congratulate Akiteru.
!!Imanol Deldorado
-> Anais's father, and the King of Terredor.
* CallBack: Itsuu's duel against him is very reminiscent of the duel he had with Anais.
* LikeParentLikeChild: Anais clearly took her appearance, personality and fighting style from him.
* TellMeHowYouFight: In his case, "show me how you fight". He usually gets to know people via challenging them to sword duels.
!!Tsujikura Hosoka
-> Kurama's younger sister. They had a bloody rivalry due to Kurama's rebellious attitude contrasting with the rest of the family. Under his constant abuse, she turned to Itsuu for help in training her, but Itsuu ended up having to beat Kurama himself.
* AlwaysSecondBest: She could never beat Kurama.
* RazorWind: She is adept at setting traps made of sword slashes.
* ShrinkingViolet: Fighting Kurama repeatedly (and losing every single time) has done a number on her confidence.
* SiblingRivalry: Kurama and her are ''not fond of each other''.
!!Matou Seira
-> Kansei's gifted younger sister. Since he hasn't been a good older brother, she ended up being very introverted, especially when she developed her mind-reading powers, and had trouble controlling them.
* AMindIsATerribleThingToRead: Kansei's explanation for her introverted nature. [[CovertPervert He's wrong.]]
* BrokenBird: Suffering Kansei's nasty treatment has broken her ego, and reading his nastier thoughts then broke her taboos.
* CurtainsMatchTheWindow: Her hair and her eyes are of the same mauve color.
* DirtyMindReading: In the tournament, she is usually seen next to people she can read loving or sexual thoughts from.
* EatingTheEyeCandy: She actually shows up in the Toukidou quarters, and soon starts [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace fangirling over Akiteru and Itsuu]].
* InnerThoughtsOutsiderPuzzlement: She's [[{{Squee}} not very subtle]] when she's mind-reading romantic or sexual thoughts, often attracting the attention of whoever's near her until she makes herself quiet.
* PsychicPowers
* PurpleIsPowerful: Her primary color is purple, and Kansei mentions how powerful she is supposed to be.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Obelisk Academy — Contestants]]
!!Alodia Vien
* BadPowersGoodPeople: Alodia can drain people's blood by biting them, but remains possibly the nicest girl in the show.
* BigSisterWorship: She really admires her sister Emelia's fighting prowess, despite disliking her tendency to pick fights.
* BornWinner: Her [[HealingFactor regeneration powers]] have made her into the best middle-school fighter without her even trying or wanting it, and so as soon as Fan got overranked. A year later, she gets overranked herself, and reaches rank 18 despite still being mostly a non-fighter. She's also one of the few superhumans with uncorrupted mana, meaning her magic attacks never disappear on their own, an advantage that even most top fighters in her academy don't have access to (only Alix and Alodia herself have it).
* DeathOfAThousandCuts: Her offense is fairly lackluster. [[SiblingTeam She is never seen fighting on her own, and her sister Emelia is the heavy-hitter of the team.]]
* DontSplitUsUp: Alodia is ''very'' attached to Emelia. Mostly as a result of Emelia's own protectiveness of her in the past.
* EnergyDonation: When times are hard for Emelia, Alodia charges her blood with her mana before getting drained. She can barely defend them since she can't use her mana shields nearly as well, but it grants Emelia a ton of power, along with some of Alodia's uncorrupted mana and regenerative abilities.
* FoolishSiblingResponsibleSibling: Despite being younger, Alodia's the responsible one.
* ImpossiblyLowNeckline: So her sister can [[VampiricDraining bite her shoulder]] more easily whenever they fight.
* KickedUpstairs: In her middle school class, she dominated fighting as soon as Fan was sent to fight with the high-schoolers because her regeneration meant fighting her was a waste of time. When she started retaliating, she was immediately sent out like Fan due to her uncorrupted mana making her even more unfair for her class's level.
* KidWithTheLeash: Sort of, concerning Emelia's troublemaking tendencies.
* LittleMissBadass: To be able to compete with her sister, the student council asked her to get overranked and reach the top 20 in a couple weeks. Not only did she do it, but she actually went a bit further, to rank 18.
* PromotionToParent: In a way. Alodia is the one who watches over Emelia at home.
* ReluctantWarrior: She does not enjoy fighting at all, and mostly does it because Emelia and Herbert dragged her into it and she happens to be good at it.
* SiblingTeam: With Emelia, obviously.
* StoneWall: Her regeneration and great defensive prowess make her very hard to take down.
* SuperpowerLottery: With her passive regeneration and her uncorrupted mana, she won it even amongst superhumans.
* VampiricDraining: Often the recipient from Emelia's. She is actually able to do it as well.
!!Pavel [=MacArihearn=]
* AlwaysSecondBest: Discussed in regard to him and Alix. Despite his best attempts, he never manages to beat her in a duel, but this has more to do with their contrasting fighting styles giving her the advantage.
* BraveScot: His father Dorick, and himself in kind.
* DumbMuscle: Smart enough to know his role. That's it.
* HairTriggerTemper: He flares up with minimal poking, and will get angry at a lack of response, especially from Alix.
* HugeGuyTinyGirl: Fan, his 5'3" teammate, is also his girlfriend. Pavel himself is 7 foot tall.
* NoIndoorVoice: Pavel does not speak often. When he does, you can't hear anything else but him.
* UnknownRival: Downplayed. Alix is well aware he wants to be TheRival to her, but she doesn't want any part of it.
!!Tanja Sokolova
* ActionGirl: The soft, insecure aspects of her completely disappear in battle.
* DefeatingTheUndefeatable: She has a widely positive track record against the vast majority of her fellow fighters, so beating her is often considered this. She considers herself being the only defeat in Sel's record a truer example.
* TheForceIsStrongWithThisOne: Thanks to her Eyes of Revealing Light, Tanja can sense people's magical power.
* LetsGetDangerous: When fighting, she becomes extremely intense and serious.
* MageKiller: Thanks to her MagicalEyes and her excellent mana control she is able to see through all magic and protect herself (and Aelee) against it accordingly.
* [[MasterSwordsman Master Swordswoman]]: She's extremely good at fast, simple swordplay.
* ProperTightsWithASkirt: To convey her conservative nature.
* ShyBlueHairedGirl: Her hair is pale blue. She's more melancholic than actually shy, though.
* ShrinkingViolet: Despite having the best dueling track record in her academy, she has a crippling lack of self-confidence when not fighting.
* StoneWall: Her fighting style's mostly defensive.
* SupernaturalSensitivity: The Activity Detection part.
* ThreePointLanding: When jumping onto the stage from the crowd.
!!Alix [=DeSeine=]
* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Crown princess to the Kingdom of Seine.
* BornWinner: One of the few Obelisk students with uncorrupted mana. Her pride in those abilities drove her to hone them to an unmatched extent from an early age.
* BureaucraticallyArrangedMarriage: She was to be married to Pavel. She expressed her disinterest by going to study at Obelisk.
* FlowerMotifs: All over the place.
* OverlyLongName: Her full name is Alix Linnea Avril Rhoda [=DeSeine=].
* SplitPersonality: She was not quite there in the head as a kid.
* TheStrategist: Her trap mastery and tendency to think everything in advance sets her as this.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Her condescending attitude can lead her to this. Also, Toukidou's officials fall prey to this regarding the fact that in regards to her uncorrupted mana.
* UptownGirl: To Sel, being a crown princess to his abandoned human weapon.
!!Gall Gebell
* AffectionateGestureToTheHead: He does it frequently to the girls he cares for.
* ByThePowerOfGrayskull: Averted. All of Gall's quotes are at best for mental preparation.
* CallingYourAttacks: Goes hand-in-hand with his drive to look cool.
* ChickMagnet: He enjoys high popularity with girls, despite making a point of being with Massilia.
* TheDreaded: Massilia and him are the favorites to win the tournament. And they deliver on that reputation with their first fight against Seika and Tamae (thought to be the Toukidou team most likely to challenge them) ending in a CurbStompBattle. [[spoiler:They keep running roughshod over their pools, ending the first stretch at 4-0, and the pools stage at 7-1.]]
* HeroicRROD: [[UnskilledButStrong Even his superhuman body can't handle the amount of stress he puts it through]], resulting in a downplayed instance of this after every battle.
* MasterSwordsman: Discussed. His countless techniques certainly make him look like such, and while his swordplay is a lot about showing off, he does have a style that he's very proficient at.
* MultiMeleeMaster: Gall is primarily a hand-to-hand combatant, but still uses mainly the swords because of the range advantage and that [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique most powerful grappling throws are banned]] because the arenas prevent magic injuries, but not physical ones.
[[/folder]]
[[folder:Obelisk Academy — Side Characters]]
!!Liam Allen
-> The host of Obelisk Academy's broadcasts, he is the Obelisk students' informant.
* FragileSpeedster: He is clearly very fast, in fact faster than the majority of the fighters, but he notes that he isn't strong or durable enough to make it past group stage in the tournament, and his CripplingOverspecialization in speed means his style is unviable at this level.
* KnowledgeBroker: He knows quite a lot more than he lets on.
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He makes himself look like an everyday idiot, despite working as a spy for the Obelisk Student Council.
* SchoolNewspaperNewsHound: With his power as the head of the Broadcasting Club, he has a lot of influence in Obelisk.
!!Caleb Gebell
-> Gall's "father", he used to be a pioneer in superhuman research. After his relationship with his own created daughter Lynn caused a huge scandal, he retreated with her to a simple life, and dedicated himself to his enthusiasm with martial arts.
* MadScientist: He used to be this in the Superhuman Rush.
* MayDecemberRomance: The first controversy about his relationship with Lynn.
* OldMaster: Averted. While he did teach Gall about martial arts, he is merely an enthusiast, and Gall soon surpassed him.
* ParentalIncest / WifeHusbandry: The second controversial part of his relationship with Lynn.
* UnPerson: The entire field of medicine and superhuman research disavowed him when he went so far as to [[ProfessorGuineaPig modify himself]], make a superhuman with the genes of another superhuman, and engaging in a relationship with a superhuman he made himself.
!!Lynn Gebell
-> Gall's biological mother and elder sister. She used to be an example for superhumans, but her name is now taboo.
* BraidsOfAction: She wears her hair in a long, thick braid that runs down to her knees.
