!!Major Characters

* AuthorAvatar: Sort of. His design seems to be inspired by Lockstin himself.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: A small version. Despite his own quiet horror at creating it, Professor Fir ended up selling the Steel Whirlygig manufacturing rights to Amaze-All for a sum of money that would guarantee that his lab could keep going for over a decade, despite the very real ramifications that said Whirlygig could have on any Castform. He ends up telling the Player that sometimes you have to be willing to bend your morals a bit in order to make it through life, and that they'd understand when they were older.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: A quiet one, when he realizes that the Steel Whirlygig he created to help Castform turn into its Steel form might have deeply traumatized it. It doesn't stop him from selling the idea to Amaze-All later on.

* GoodOldWays: A downplayed case. Professor Menize, compared to her former boyfriend Tom and her colleague Professor Fir is a very low-tech professor, relying on writing with paper notes and using carrier Kwaile instead of other more advanced means of communication. She's not unjustified however, given her disdain for Tom's increasingly invasive technology,

CEO of the Amaze-All Corporation that dominates the Kaskade Region. Tom Bezzle serves as the major antagonist.
----
* BaldOfEvil: His head in his sprite has its own lens flare.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: It's revealed that much of Tom Bezzle's plans were actually .
* CantTakeCriticism: When tells Tom that , he reacts pretty poorly.
* CelebritySponsorship: Amaze-All sponsors the current Champion of Kaskade, Yazin.
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Tom Bezzle may have tried to mess with the natural order for the sake of profit and is probably still stealing your personal information, but even he wouldn't invade other people's souls.
* Expy: He's basically Jeff Bezos (with the baldness to match) if he not only created Amazon, but also Apple, Google, and Facebook too.
* FatalFlaw: His inability to recognize when enough is enough. A large part of his actions (noted in WellIntentionedExtremist) stems from him basically believing that the good that comes from his choices vastly outweighs the bad, and this was the case...at first. But as he kept on eroding his morals in the name of profit and convenience, the bad aspects of his decisions started to outweigh the good, until he made some dangerously bad decisions in the main game.
* KarmaHoudini: spoiler:You beat Tom Bezzle, foil his plans of mind-controlling the regional Legendaries and altering the weather, and he decides to honestly turn himself in... and the very next day, he pays his fines, gets out of jail and withdraws his sponsorship of the Champion position.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Bezzle initially started off life as hoping to use his technology and various social media companies as a means to help people connect with each other and to make their lives more convenient. Unfortunately, being an executive with far too much power and influence causes him to erode his morals more and more in the name of profit and convenience, building increasingly invasive elements into his social media, taking over smaller businesses and driving them out to increase his empire's influence, making shady deals with criminal groups in the name of gaining more power. And that's not even considering his intent for Kaskade's Legendaries, spoiler: where he plans to take control of them in order to forcibly change the seasons in order to create perfect conditions to increase profits even more. The fact that the Orbotholod's were likely influencing his decisions probably did not help matters.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He used to date Professor Menzie and was fratmates with Professor Fir. In the present, Professor Fir can only barely tolerate his old friend, and Menzie wants nothing to do with the corrupt executive he's become.

The current Champion of the Kaskade Region, sponsored by Amaze-All.
----
* BribingYourWayToVictory: Yazin makes no secret of his sponsorship of Amaze-All, and the benefits that gets him, including access to the new Cloud-linked Amaze Balls and the newest Porygon evolution, Porygon⍵. In addition, he has a lot of powerful Pokémon on his team and a lot of assistants on his payroll, who apparently do a lot of the Pokémon training for him.
* Expy: Yazin, with his darker skin tone, well-styled beard, and undercut hairstyle, is noted for resembling a buffer, YoungerAndHipper version of Chairman Rose, with elements of Leon mixed in. Especially with his CelebrityEndorsement of Amaze-All connecting him with some particularly shady folk.
* ItMayHelpYouOnYourQuest: Subverted. The first time you meet Champion Yazin, you and your junior rival Jay have a battle in front of him, and Yazin is so impressed that he gives you... a signed photo of himself.
* SpoiledBrat: It's not known how much of his rank is due to his battling skill or to his connection to Amaze-All that gives him enough funds to locate the strongest Pokémon and hire the best trainers to train them for him, but he really enjoys boasting about his possessions, including his Pokémon. Also, [[spoiler:despite owning the pseudo-Legendary Worcane, he has mentioned wanting something better than a pseudo-Legendary, whether by capture… or creation]].

!Pokemon
!!Starter Pokemon

* ElementalRockPaperScissors: As per tradition for Starter Pokémon, with Llampas being Grass-type, Therpal being Fire-type, and Burbwhril being Water-type.
** The Llampas line gains the secondary Rock-type upon evolving into Alfalphalops. This provides extra resistance to Fire-type moves, but adds Fighting and Steel-type weaknesses. Originally it was simply pure Grass-type, but this gave the part Bug-type Vaquamael an advantage.
** Aspfault and Tarmendoa both have the secondary Ground-type. This gives them a double-weakness to Water, which is thankfully covered by Tarmendoa's ability.
** The entire Burbwhril line has the secondary Bug-type. This reduces its weakness to Grass-types, but adds Flying and Rock to the list of weaknesses and makes Fire balance out against it.
* RecurringElement: As Lockstin notes, the Starter Trio conforms to patterns that the fandom has observed in official Starter Trios (prior to said trends being seemingly broken in VideoGame/PokemonScarletAndViolet):
** Grass-type Starters being extinct megafauna. Llampas' line is partially based on camelops, the ice-age ancestor to modern camels, alpacas and llamas.
** Fire-type Starters being animals from the Chinese Zodiac. Therpal’s line is based on a Western ground snake, and thus represents the Snake.
** Water-type Starters having design elements of weapons or warrior classes. Burbwhirl’s line eventually becomes a cowboy-inspired whip/lasso wielder.
* SecretArt: This Starter Trio has unique abilities, as part of the Kaskade Region's focus on weather control in battles. Uniquely, each ability counters the weather effects created by the SignatureMove of the Pokémon they are traditionally weak to:
** Llampas and its evolutions are Droughtproof, rendering them immune to temperature changes. This protects them from the Harsh Sunlight caused by Tarmendoa’s Thermal Vortex.
** Therpal's lines are Hydrophobic, making them immune to the effects of rain and hail. This upgrades to Fully Hydrophobic for Tarmendoa, reducing the damage from Water-type attacks, such as Vaquamael's Whirlduel, on top of ignoring the rainstorm that move causes.
** Burbwhirl's line has the ability Bubble Helm, making them immune to weather effects that affect air quality. This includes the Pollen Storm spread by Alfalphalops' Pollinate.
* SignatureMove: Like all Pokémon games from Generation III and onwards, the fully evolved forms of Kaskade's Starter Pokémon gain their own unique moves. These moves also play into the emphasis on weather control in battles:
** Alfalphalops' signature move, Pollinate, causes it to shed pollen-like dander into the air around it. This raises defense and evasiveness and creates a Pollen Storm.
** Tarmendoa's signature move, Thermal Vortex, makes it spin its body towards the target, creating a scorching blast of air that hits multiple foes. It also clears any weather conditions that are wet or cold; or, if there are none, creates Harsh Sunlight.
** Vaquamael's signature move, Whirlduel, has it conjure a whirlpool lasso to entrap foes, starting a rainstorm and damaging them for three to five turns.

The Grass-Type Starter Pokémon of the Kaskade Region. Based on camelids (primarily llamas) and pampas grass.
----
* TheDitz: Both Danfluff and Alfalphalops are noted as not being very smart as part of their NewAgeRetroHippie theme (see below).
* Mayincatec: Alfalphalops's hump resembles a South American pyramid, while the leaves on its head resemble some Aztec and Mayan headdresses.
* MeaningfulName:
** Llampas is derived from llama and pampas grass.
** Danfluff is from dander (animal fur that causes allergies) or dandruff, fluff and the name Dan, meaning "God is my judge" or "positivity".
** Alfalphalops combines alfalfa with camelops, while also including alpha in reference to camelops being the early ancestor of modern camelids.
* MightyGlacier: The Llampas line is not particularly fast, but has high HP and defenses to compensate.
* MisplacedWildlife: Llampas and its evolutions are based on llamas and include aesthetics of Mayan and Aztec culture, neither of which are found in the Pacific Northwest. Trope as part of the ongoing theme of migration and change — Llampas is implied to have migrated to Kaskade from another land.
* NewAgeRetroHippie: Danfluff and Alfalphalops have a relaxed attitude reminiscent of this. They prefer to go with the flow and let nature take its course, not worrying about anything or judging anyone. This probably contributes to their slow speed and attack.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Lockstin gushes about how cute Llampas's art looks when introducing it.
* ShoutOut: The line thematically recalls the three types of triangles, although Lockstin admits that this one is the weakest theming out of all the Starters. Llampas is an acute triangle due to Pun being cute, Danfluff is an equilateral triangle as it sees everyone in equal light, and Alfalphalops is an obtuse triangle due to its lack of smarts. These Pokémon also feature humps that become triangular pyramids.

The Fire-Type Starter Pokémon of the Kaskade Region. Based on the western ground snake, roads and vehicle exhaust pipes.
----
* AnimalVehicleHybrid: The line has exhaust pipes for tails, which functions as a booster that allows them to travel quickly above and under ground.
* DishingOutDirt: Aside from being part Ground-type, Aspfault and Tarmendoa are noted to be excellent burrowers.
* Irony: Therpal's ability, Hydrophobic, renders it immune to any effects caused by rain and snow. Despite this, it's terrified of getting wet - hydrophobic in the literal sense.
* LavaAddsAwesome: The line takes visual cues from lava lamps, with lava visibly coursing through their bodies. This apparently made them a popular pet in the past.
* LightningBruiser: The Therpal line is all about speed, with other stats being roughly equivalent.
* MeaningfulName:
** Therpal combines thermal with herp, referring to herptiles (the term that groups reptiles and amphibians together).
** Aspfault is asp, an archaic term for venomous snakes, and fault, a large crack in the ground. The name also sounds like asphault, the material used to manufacture roads.
** Tarmendoa combines tar or tarmac, another kind of road covering, with mend and boa, referring to the secondary inspiration in the rubber boa.
* NervousWreck: Therpal has a constant expression of worry on its face, is scared of getting wet, and freezes if it senses danger.
* ShoutOut: The trio thematically follows the "stop, drop, and roll" of fire safety — Therpal stops and freezes in places if it senses danger, Aspfault drops by burrowing under the ground, and Tarmendoa aggressively rolls towards enemies with Thermal Vortex.
* SnakesAreSinister: Averted completely for Therpal, who is jumpy and frightened of everything, especially of getting wet. Downplayed with Aspfault and Tarmendoa — their burrowing can be destructive and Tarmendoa certainly looks fearsome, but they're still Pokémon that can be tamed like any other.
* TunnelKing: Aspfault and Tarmendoa are noted for their burrowing ability. Tarnemdoa's body heat actually creates lava tubes as it travels underground.
* VisualPun: Aspfault and Tarmendoa are literally "road snakes", a colloquial term referring to cracks in roads filled in with waterproof sealant. Tarmendoa ups this by literally having "mend" in its name.

The Water-Type Starter Pokémon of the Kaskade Region. Based primarily on whirligig beetles and cowboys.
----
* AntiVillain: Despite committing crimes, Spoutlaw still feels somewhat guilty for doing so. It eventually becomes TheAtoner upon evolving into Vaquamael, using the knowledge it learned from its life of crime to outsmart criminals.
* BigCreepyCrawlies: As part Bug-types based on water beetles.
* Cowboy: Gains this aesthetic as Spoutlaw and Vaquamael.
* ElementalWeapon: Spoutlaw and Vaquamael use water bubbles on their hips to create water whips. The latter is so proficient that it can create whirlpool lassos to ensnare enemies.
* GlassCannon: The Burbwhirl line hits hard with high attack, special attack, and speed, but has low HP and defence.
* HeelFaceTurn: Undergoes this when it evolves from Spoutlaw to Vaquamael.
* InconsistentSpelling: Lockstin initially couldn't decide between "Vaquamael" or the alternative spelling of "Vaguamael", but has since stuck with the former name.
* MeaningfulName:
** Burbwhirl refers to burble, as in a burbling brook, with whirligig, both a type of beetle and a spinning ornament.
** Spoutlaw combines water spout with outlaw.
** Vaquamael is multi-layered, combining vaquero, the Spanish for "cowboy", with the Latin aqua or the Spanish agua, both meaning "water", and maelstrom, referring to whirlpools.
* ShoutOut: The entire line is a reference to the Clint Eastwood film Film/TheGoodTheBadAndTheUgly in reverse, with Vaquamael being the good, Spoutlaw being the bad, and Burbwhirl being the ugly.
* SnotBubble: The water bubble coming out of Burbwhirl's nose resembles this.
* ThatsWhatIWouldDo: Due to living the outlaw lifestyle as Spoutlaw, Vaquamael understands how criminals think and uses this knowledge to outsmart them.
* UglyCute: Invoked with Burbwhirl. Lockstin wanted to base it more on actual whirligig beetle larvae, but found them too hideous to reasonably adapt. So he and the artist compromised by making Burbwhirl “so ugly it’s cute” akin to pugs.

!!Wild Pokémon

A pair of Normal/Ghost opossum Pokémon. They live near human settlements, and are very interested in acting and theater. They are so good at playing dead that death itself seems to be fooled, giving them Ghost powers. Some even say that Opakespiel are possessed by the spirit of the character they play.
----
* AlasPoorYorick: Opakespiel often cradles Specoey in its hand, which when coupled with the skull mask on Specoey, make it resemble the skull-holding scene from Theater/Hamlet.
* MeaningfulName: Specoey combines Specter, Spectate (what the audience at a theater does), and Joey (a term for a baby opossum). Opakespiel combines Opossum, Opaque (meaning they're less ghostly than ghost types that can become fully transparent), and Spiel (a long speech, often given by a character in a play), and sounds somewhat similar to "Shakespeare", if you drop the "O" (as is often done when talking about opossums).
* PlayingPossum: Fitting for an opossum-based Pokémon. They're so good at it that they actually are somewhat dead, gaining Ghost abilities.
* RecurringElement: One of two "Common Mammals" of Kaskade, in a similar vein to Ratatta, Sentret, and others (the other being Chewmunk).

A Fire/Grass bird, based on an emu. It uses fiery magic-like attacks, channeled through its bright red leafy plumage.
----
* MeaningfulName: Its name combines Bloom, Plumage, and Mage. Fitting for a bird, whose fiery red plumage is made of blooming plants, and can control fire like a wizard.

A Steel/Poison lizard. Mercryni cries tears of liquid mercury, and can strike enemies with rust-covered spikes, in order to poison them.
----
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Mercryni's mercury tears reference pygmy horned lizards shooting blood from their eyes as a defense mechnanism, but obviously due to the kid-friendly nature of Pokémon, they were made into tears of mercury instead.
* PoisonousPerson: Mercryni can poison foes with both its mercury tears, and through infections caused by its rusty spikes.
* TearsOfBlood: Based on lizards who can shoot blood out of their eyes as a defense mechanism. Mercryni instead cries tears of liquid mercury, which can be used to poison attackers.

The regional early bug Pokémon, based on weevils. All three are Bug/Normal type. Sighlo is a simple grub, who does little with its time other than eat massive amounts of grain, in preparation for its metamorphosis. Cooreds weaves a cocoon of tough cords around its soft body, and has begun to use its thin proboscis as a small trumpet. When it evolves into Probaska, it gains an impressively colored pattern on its round, bag-like body, and has gained impressive use of its trumpet snout; it can use it for a variety of sound-based moves, as well as to play reggae and ska music.
----
* MakeSomeNoise: The line's use of sound-based attacks are part of why it has the Normal typing. Its little weevil-mouth trumpet allows it to make a wide variety of sounds, and it can use powerful noise attacks.
* MeaningfulName: Sighlo is derived from Sigh (because it's a rather bored bug who does little with its time) and Silo (as it looks like a grain silo and is full of the stuff). Cooreds is derived from Cocoon and Dreads (as its cords look like dreadlocks, which ties into the reggae inspirations). Finally, Probaska is a portmanteau of "proboscious" and "ska", the genre of music that inspired it.
** Probaska's original name, Buggaesack, is derived from Bug, Reggae, and Hackysack, as it's based on Reggae culture and a hackysack bag.
* RecurringElement: The "Early Bug" of Kaskade, similar to Caterpie, Wurmple, and others.
* Reggae: The line is based partly on reggae culture, including the hackysack (which was popularized in Oregon).
* SuddenNameChange: Probaska was formerly "Buggaesack" because the new name seemed easier to say and remember.

A Normal/Poison-type regional variant of Skuntank.
----
* JokeCharacter: Was created solely as a reference to weed and the stereotypes associated with it.
* NewAgeRetroHippie: References another hippie sterotype, that of near-constant maijuana use.
* UndergroundMonkey: This version of Skuntank is much mellower than its Sinnohan counterpart, and so its fumes aren't lethally toxic anymore, hence the Normal-type.

A Fairy/Fighting goblin creature that always seems to be protesting about something.

A Ground/Fairy-type regional variant of Excadrill.
----
* FantasticMedicinalBodilyProduct: Downplayed. The crystals on Kaskadian Excadrill can heal wounds and cure poison, but people think they can do a lot more than they really can.
* TakeThat: As a reference to alternative medicines such as crystal healing, Excadrill is a walking one of these towards the anti-vaxxer movement.

A Fighting/Ground-type based on a stingray.
----
* Cowboy: Based on a wild west sherrif, including the hat and a star and with a bullwhip for a tail.
* SandIsWater: It can swim through the desert dunes of Kaskade as though it was water.
* TailSlap: Much like Vaquamael, Desoray uses its tail like a whip to subdue foes.

A Bug/Dragon-type regional variant of Yanma. It eventually evolves into Yanmage, which knows powerful magics based on Infinity Energy.

A Normal/Rock-type regional variant of Ambipom.
----
* FearsomeCritters: Is based on the Agropelter, an ape-like cryptid beast from the Pacific Northwest that uses its flexible arms to hurl projectiles at intruders.
* UndergroundMonkey: The Kaskadian Ambipom is far more aggressive than Sinnohan Ambipom. It carries rocks around with it and uses the arms on its tails to hurl them at foes.

A Poison/Ice-type regional variant of Crabominable.
----
* PoisonousPerson: Kaskadian Crabominable is primarily Posion-type.
* UndergroundMonkey: Kaskadian Crabominable is based on gorilla crabs, which are poisonous, and to the permafrost that occurs in the far north, which releases harmful chemicals into the soil when it melts.

A trio of bird-like Pokémon based on the California and Mountain quail. Initially just pure Flying, but becomes Ground/Flying upon evolving into Quailert.
----
* CrazySurvivalist: The entire design is a reference to the abundance of anti-government doomsday preppers in the Pacific Northwest. Quailstion itself forms a literal bunker with its wings and the feathers of its head form a tinfoil hat.
* DishingOutDirt: Quailert and Quailstion are both Ground/Flying-type. Quailert burrows underground if it senses danger, while Quailstion uses its mud-covered wings to form a protective bunker.
* MeaningfulName:
** Kwaile is a misspelling of quail, referring to both the bird and to cowering or faltering in fear, while also containing wail, a cry of fear
** Quailert combines quail with alert, as it is always attentive of its surroundings.
** Quailstion incorporates bastion, as in a fortified location such as a bunker.
* MyNaymeIs: Akin to past Pokémon such as Seel and Dewgong, Kwaile's name is basically "quail" spelt wrong.
* TheParanoiac: Quailert always wants to protect its family from danger, even if that danger doesn't actually exist.
* RecurringElement: The "Common Bird" of the Kaskade Region, akin to Pokémon such as Pigey, Pidove, Starly, etc.
* TinfoilHat: Quailstion's head feathers resemble one, and its Ability reduces damage taken from Psychic-type moves.

A line based on the famous Bigfoot/Sasquatch. Vitisquash starts as a Normal/Grass-type that helps farmers and winemakers by trampling grapes with its feet. It later evolves into the Poison/Grass-type Dionysseur.

Mosster is a Grass-type based on hamsters and moss. When it evolves, it becomes Mosskrat, which is Water/Grass-type and has two forms; the green Lake Bloom and the red Tidal Bloom.

The "Pikaclone" of the Kaskade Region. An Electric/Water type themed on beavers and hydroelectric dams.
----
* MakingASplash: As a part Water-type. Guruchi sprays water through a gap in its front teeth, increasing the pressure of the attack.
* MeaningfulName: Like all Pikaclones, Guruchi's name is Japanese. It pulls from hitokuchi, meaning "to bite", and goro, the onomatopoeia for something rolling or spinning around — in this case, turbines.
* RecurringElement: The Pikaclone of Kaskade, similar to Pachirisu, Emolga and so on.
* SecretArt: Hydrocharge causes its next Water-type move to also deal Electric-type damage and vice versa, much like Flying Press.
* ShockAndAwe: As a part Electric-type. Guruchi generates electricity through the turbine-like spots on its tail, which spin as water passes over them.

A Normal/Steel-type variant of Bidoof that evolves into the Steel/Psychic Kaskadian Bibarel.
----
* DumbassNoMore: Kaskadian Bibarel has apparently reached “Slowking levels” of intelligence due to picking up all kinds of radio transmissions via its teeth.
* ShoutOut: Kaskadian Bidoof and Bibarel are based on the phenomenon of people hearing radio transmissions via the metal in their fillings.
* UndergroundMonkey: Kaskadian Bidoof has iron in its teeth that allow it to cut down trees, but also causes it to pick up different signals in the air. This causes it to grow in intelligence as it evolves into Kaskadian Bibarel.

A Grass/Ground-type regional variant of Tropius, inspired by Californian redwood trees.
----
* UndergroundMonkey: Kaskadian Tropius can't fly, but are truly massive and can take root immediately upon entering battle. Thus, they swap the secondary Flying type for Ground.

Ananot is a slug-like Pokémon that resembles a banana. When it evolves, it teams up with two others of its kind to become Ananoop.

Water and Ghost-type variants of Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar, themed on mist.
----
* SuperSmoke: Rather than ghostly vapor, they're water vapor.
* UndergroundMonkey: Due to living in misty forests, Gastly and its evolutions lost their toxins and formed themselves from water vapor instead of ghost energy, becoming part Water-type as a result.

A pure Grass-type regional variant of Bellsprout, based on the cobra lily. Unlike the Kantonian Bellsprout, it only has one evolution — Drosabell, a Grass/Psychic-type based on the drosera or sundew.

The "pseudo-legendary" of the Kaskade region, based on the mythical wasgo, otherwise known as the sea wolf. Buwuve is a pure Water-type, but its evolutions add the Dragon-type.
----
* DifficultButAwesome: Worcane are said to be very difficult to train, but managing to do so is worth the effort.
* HairTriggerTemper: Lockstin states that Wasgrowl are known to explode if their fur is pet wrong; however, it's unknown if this is literal (based on the fact that Wasgrowl's hair looks like a sea mine, and that it explodes in the video explaining it) or if it means it blows up figuratively, as in getting enraged.
* MeaningfulName: Buwuve's name is derived from "bow waves", and, humorously, going "uwu".
** Wasgrowl's name combines "wasgo" and "growl".
** Worcane's name could be derived from "wolf", "orca", and "arcane".
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Despite being Dragon-type (barring Buwuve), their appearances are more in line with orca whales and wolves, hence the wasgo inspiation.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Buwuve, full stop. Lockstin even says: "It's so cute! And I LOVE IT!" when describing it.

One of four Fossil Pokémon native to the Kaskade Region. Both are Fire/Ice-type and are based on smilodon, the famous saber-toothed cats. The line is ancestral to certain catlike Pokémon such as Pyroar and Incineroar, as well as Kaskadian Luxray.
----
* AnIcePerson: Is partly Ice-type due to being revived from a frozen specimen.
* HotBlade: Vaicear can heat up its normally frozen fangs and claws at will, adding Fire-type power to its attacks.
* PowerIncontinence: As Feafurr grows and learns more Fire-type moves, it struggles to adjust to the excess heat and, much like Cubchoo with its runny nose, suffers from a near-constant high fever.
* SignatureMove: Frostburn, the signature move of Vaicear, causes Fire or Ice-type damage depending on which would be more effective, much like Flying Press.
* SnowySabertooths: A part Ice-type based on smilodon that learns plenty of Ice-type attacks.

One of four Fossil Pokémon native to the Kaskade Region. Both are Psychic/Ice-type and are based on phiomia and macrauchenia. The line is ancestral to Drowzee, Musharna, and Girafarig.
----
* AnIcePerson: Is partly Ice-type due to being revived from a frozen specimen.
* ForcedSleep: Phisnooz emits psychic waves from its trunk that allow it to do this to opponents.
* Telepathy: The Telemac herds communicate through this. Telemac also uses this in battle via its signature move, whispering conflicting commands into the opponent's mind and bewildering it.
* SignatureMove: Overbearing Command, the signature move of Telemac, causes confusion and has a 30% chance of putting foes to sleep. If the opponent is already confused, then the chance raises to 80%.

One of four Fossil Pokémon native to the Kaskade Region. A Ground/Ice-type ancestor to Sandshrew based on glyptodonts.
----
* AnIcePerson: Is partly Ice-type due to being revived from a frozen specimen.
* BewareMyStingerTail: Much like doedicurus, it has a mace tail, but made from frozen ice.
* DishingOutDirt: Macedontus is primarily Ground-type, and digs into the ground to protect itself, leaving only its hammer tail and armoured back exposed.
* MightyGlacier: Both literally, due to being part Ice-type, and figuratively, as Macedontus are extremely tanky.

One of four Fossil Pokémon native to the Kaskade Region. A Rock/Ice-type ancestor to Rhyhorn based on the woolly rhino.
----
* AnIcePerson: Is partly Ice-type due to being revived from a frozen specimen.
* CharlesAtlasSuperpower: Ice and Rock powers aside, Crynorawst is immensely strong. A herd of these is thought to have kept Artikull's glaciers back from engulfing Kaskade millennia ago.
* GentleGiant: They may look brutish and temperamental, but they care greatly for others and have the helpful temperament of a Saint Bernard.

Catteraxe is a Normal/Steel-type catlike Pokémon, inspired by feral cats and the mythical Splintercat. Through unknown methods involving a Key Bone, its nine lives are confined in the bone, allowing it to evolve into the Ghost-type Catatomb.
----
* BewareMyStingerTail: Catteraxe and Catatomb both have axe blades on the end of their tails, which they use to chop down trees in their way.
* FearsomeCritters: Catteraxe and Catatomb are partially based on the Splintercat, a feline creature known for headbutting trees to get at its food.
* MeaningfulName:
** Catteraxe is cat combined with axe, bridged by cateracts, an eye condition that causes blindness.
** Catatomb is cat and tomb, which together sounds like catacomb, a subterranean chamber used for religious practices — burial most commonly.
* SealedEvilInACan: Much like Spiritomb before it, Catatomb is a collection of spirits sealed inside of an object. In this case, it's all of Catteraxe's nine lives trapped in a bone.
* WatchOutForThatTree: Catteraxe is functionally blind, meaning that it keeps walking into trees, and so developed the axe blade on its tail to clear a path through the forest.

Pudet is a Fighting-type puppy Pokémon with the attitude of a military cadet. To evolve, it has to fall in battle, whereupon its sheer will to keep fighting allows it to evolve into the Fighting/Ghost-type Woond.
----
* CoveredInScars: Woond is absolutely covered in battle scars, as well as missing limbs replaced with ghostly ectoplasm and a literal Purple Heart.
* UnfinishedBusiness: Woond refuses to move on to the afterlife, as it isn't finished serving its country yet.

A Fighting and Steel-type counterpart to Lucario and Zoroark, based on mountain lions/cougars and roller derby players.
----
* BullyHunter: Kituff has this attitude.
* CatGirl: Based on mountain lions.
* MagnetismManipulation: Their powers revolve around magnetism, with Beadamup specifically using it as a means of fast travel and by throwing magnetized steel beads at foes.
* MrsRobinson: Wild Beadamup explicitly like to prey on younger Pokémon. They're quite literally Pun cougars.
* PopularWithFurries: Deliberately Invoked, as the line is the Kaskade Region's equivalent to Pokémon in this vein such as Lucario and Zoroark.
* RollerbladeGood: The toe beads of Beadamup are made of metal, allowing it to move quickly via magnetic levitation akin to Shadow the Hedgehog's hovershoes.

An Ice-type regional variant of Luxray, actually the original form.
----
* UndergroundMonkey: Much like Galarian Zigzagoon/Linoone, the Kaskadian Luxray is the original form, which makes the Sinnohan Luxray the example of this trope.

A Fire/Steel-type Pokémon, based on a racoon and a garbage incinerator.
----
* ExtremeOmnivore: Rascoom eats everything, including garbage. Its encouraged around Port Alki to consume burnable garbage, which is incinerated inside its stomach.
* GreenAesop: Rascoom is a Fire/Steel-type steel-jawed raccoon that was initially seen as a pest around cities until everyone realized how good it was at consuming trash, making them more tolerable. Its introduction video also mentions the Canada-Philippines waste dispute and how the trash in question ended up at a waste-to-energy plant.
* MeaningfulName: Combines racoon, rascal, and consume.
* SuddenNameChange: Rascoom was originally named Coonsoom, but this was changed to avoid the ethnic slur "coon" in its old name. In the defense of Lockstin, he admitted that he wasn't aware of that when he originally came up with the name and neither was the editor.

* Brainwashed: The leader of the Folleming emits a psychic signal that forces the others in the herd to follow it.
* SuicidalLemmings: Folleming plays on this trope and combines it with a stereotypical Cult. The leader of the swarm compells the others with psychic powers to follow it everywhere it goes and obey without question - including, as per the stereotype, off of cliffs.

Gneckle is a bad-tempered Dark-type that, after hatching, refuses to leave it's egg. It remains rooted to one place, only ever poking its head out to peck at anything that comes too close. It doesn't get much better when it evolves into Rabyoose, becoming a Dark/Flying-type based on a Canada goose - and just as aggressive and territorial as the real thing.
----
* FoulWaterfowl: Like real geese, Rabyoose are aggressive towards anything not in their immediate group. Gneckle, its prevolution, is so grumpy that it doesn't leave its egg and will snap at anything that invades its personal space.
* MeaningfulName:
** Gneckle is a contraction of goose-necked barnacle, which it resembles.
** Rabyoose combines goose with rabble, meaning a rowdy group, and sounds vaguely like abuse, which is what it deals to enemies.
* VisualPun: Gneckle resembles a goose-necked barnacle in that it rarely leaves its egg and remains rooted to the spot.

----
* FamilyFriendlyStripper: Uses pole-dancing as a form of combat.
* MartialArtsStaff: It creates a pole out of ice to use as part of its fighting style.
* UndergroundMonkey: Kaskadian Jynx traded their Psychic abilities for a DanceBattler style of fighting.

A pair of Electric/Ground-type Pokémon based on earthworms and potato batteries.
----
* BigEater: Tooburm eats so many potatoes that it carries bits of it wherever it goes.
* ShockAndAwe: Tooburm and Detrarc use electricity stored in the potatoes they carry for electric attacks.

An ancient-looking Pokémon based on trout and lungfish. It has two forms depending on the weather condition in play — the Water/Ground Wet Form for rainstorms and the Rock/Ground Dry Form for droughts.
----
* DishingOutDirt: Drout is part Ground-type and is based on trout, who are known to dig pits into riverbeds. Emphasised more with its Dry Form, which has cracked mud along its back and resembles a lungfish, which are known for burying themselves in mud during droughts.
* MixAndMatchCritters: Dry Form Drout resembles a cross between a lungfish and a lizard, with clawed pectoral fins and dried mud on its back resembling a crocodile's scutes.
* MultiFormBalance: Dry Form Drout lose out on speed and special attack, but gain a boost in physical stats to compensate.
* MyNaymeIs: In the tradition of Pokémon such as Seel, Drout's name is drought, referring to long periods without rain, spelled incorrectly to match trout, the species of fish it's based on.

A pair of Psychic/Poison-type extradimensional Pokémon, themed on nuclear waste/radiation.
----
* FirstContactMath: Much like Film/CloseEncountersOfTheThirdKind, Perpetua communicates with others by flashing coloured lights on its head frills.
* LizardFolk: Perpetua is based primarily on frilled lizards.
* MeaningfulName: Their names together, "estoe perpetua", are Latin for "this is forever", in reference to how nuclear waste takes thousands of years to become safe.
* PoisonousPerson: Because they come from another dimension, Estoe and Perpetua constantly give off a kind of radiation that makes people around them sick.
* ReptilianConspiracy: Perpetua invokes reptilian aliens in its design, albeit with a twist due to being a frilled lizard.
* ShoutOut: Estoe hides inside a space capsule that looks a lot like a barrel of radioactive waste.
** Perpetua's head, frills and body together form the radiation warning symbol, while the green crests on its face resembles the biohazard symbol.

A pure Ghost-type regional variant of Golett, based on woven wicker baskets with spirits trapped inside. It has a unique evolution into the Ghost/Rock-typed Golgre, based on the mythical dzunukwa or basket ogress. One serves as a Totem-esque boss encounter in the story.

A line of Bug/Grass-type insect-like Pokémon that are major pests in the Kaskade Region.
----
* CreepyCockroach: Eecroach is a cockroach-like Pokémon that infests cities.
* GaiasVengeance: Eecroach infestations look a lot like plants growing straight out of buildings and sidewalks, giving the impression of nature taking back the land man stole from it.
* MeaningfulName:
** Apheed combines aphid with seed, while also sounding like feed, which it does a lot of.
** Mosleafo is mosquito combined with leaf.
** Eecroach combines cockroach, the insect it is based on, with encroach, meaning to intrude. As well as "Eek!", which people tend to say on seeing it.
* MosquitoMiscreants: Mosleafo are mosquito-like Pokémon that fly in huge swarms and are considered pests.
* ScaryStingingSwarm: Every member of the Apheed line forms huge swarms that cause terror in some way or another. Eecroach even takes advantage of this with its ability, Swarming.
* SynchronizedSwarming: Eecroach's Swarming Form causes it to build a defensive tower out of their own bodies, functioning similarly to Wishiwashi's Schooling Form.

!!Other Pokemon
folder:
* RobotMe: Designed by Amaze-All to be a robotic re-creation of the ancient Thunderbird.
* MeaningfulName: Its name combines elements from Rotom and Porygon; the Pokémon used to create and animate the machine. It also includes the Omega letter used in several Amaze-All products, including their new form of Porygon. Additionally, the letter “Omega” literally means “big ‘O’”, and is pronounced as such. So, “ Ωrogon” can be pronounced similarly to “Oregon”; one of the states that inspired the Kaskade region.
* MechanicalAbomination: Looks like a mechanical amalgamation of Rotom and Porygon mashed together into an electric-winged monstrosity.

!Legendaries

An immensely powerful Fire/Psychic lizard. It brings scorching heat wherever it goes, and wields flames with the skill of a sorcerer. In the ancient past, it travelled to the newly-formed Kaskade region, shortly after it was created by Groudon. Taking a liking to the region, it settled in, spreading its heat. Its presence brought an eternal summer to the region. After Arctikull arrived, it woke from a long sleep, and began to spread heat again. In the current age, it participates in a constant chase around the region, following Arctikull. Wherever Manadza currently resides, the Kaskade region experiences an artificial summer.
----
* DinosaursAreDragons: It incorporates design elements of hadrosaurs, the only dinosaur fossils native to Oregon, while also being partially Fire-type.
* FlamingHair: Has a mohawk of flaming feathers that resembles a Native American feathered headdress.
* HerbivoresAreFriendly: Downplayed. Manadza isn't as uncaringly selfish and cruel as Arctikull, but it still brings heatwaves wherever it goes and commands fire on a whim, so it's not a good idea to make it angry.
* HumansAreInsects: Manadza doesn't seem to hate humans, but, judging by its reaction to Tom Bezzle's demands, it doesn't take kindly to being bossed around by them.
* MeaningfulName: It's name is extremely multi-layered in terms of meaning, incorporating some Numu words from the Paiute people of the Pacific Northwest:
** Mana, the conceptual magical energy of the Earth, in reference to its magical ability.
** Lizard, referencing it's species. It also uses the Numu word tabodza, meaning lizard.
** Tadza, the Numu word for "summer", as this is what it brings to the Kaskade region.
** Ma’na’ta, the Numu word for "eternal" or "forever". It's presence brings an eternal summer to the Kaskade region.
* SecretArt: Manadza's signature Ability is Heat Haze. The first time Manadza is attacked with a physical move, it dodges and counters with an explosion of flames, damaging the foe and filling the arena with smoke and bright sunlight.
* SignatureMove: Manadza has Wildfire, where it casts multiple fireballs around itself, striking multiple targets and starting fires. This removes any previous weather conditions and starts a smokey drought.
* SquishyWizard: It goes all in on the special stats, but lacks physical defense.

A brutally strong Ice/Dark bear. It spreads a brutal cold wherever it treads, and dons armor made from dense ice. In the ancient past, Arctikull wandered to the Kaskade region, which was locked into an endless summer by Manadza. Arctikull took a liking to the region, and began to spread cold around it, bringing an eternal winter, more to its liking. When Manadza woke up and tried to spread its heat again, Arctikull began to circle the region, undoing whatever Manadza did. This chase continues to this day. Wherever Arctikull resides, Kaskade experiences an artificial winter.
----
* BearsAreBadNews: Arctikull is a brutal and cruel creature, hence its Dark typing. It cares not for any Pokémon that die from its winter, as long as it is comfortable itself.
* ElementalArmor: Arctikull wears sheets of ice as armor, which is reflected by its Ice Armor signature Ability that absorbs any one attack before filling the battlefield with snow as it shatters.
* EvilIsDeathlyCold: It is the embodiment of winter, and does not care how many Pokémon or humans die under its chill.
* HumansAreInsects: If its angry reaction to Tom Bezzle's demands were any indication, Arctikull thinks very little of humans overall.
** MeaningfulName: Its name is as multi-layered as Manadza's:
*** Arctus, a Latin word meaning bear.
*** Arctic and Antarctic, referring to the frozen poles of the world.
*** Arc, as in a high position such as a king.
*** Cull or kill in reference to the deadly effect of its cruel winters.
*** The name together sounds vaguely like icicle in reference to its Ice-typing.
*** It's original name, Arctoyield, included the world yield, meaning to give way, with the Siksiká word ssTOYli, meaning winter.
* MightyGlacier: Literally - it's slow but powerful with great physical stats.
* MythicalMotifs: Arctikull references the Siksiká tale of a bear that stole the winds that bring warm air, causing the land to become trapped in eternal winter.
* SecretArt: Arctikull's signature Ability is Ice Armor. The first time Arctikull is attacked with a special move, its icy armour reflects the attack back at the foe, damaging the foe and filling the arena with hail and snow.
* SignatureMove: Arctikull has Whiteout, where it charges forward with a glacial wall of ice behind it to strike multiple opponents. This removes any previous weather conditions and starts a hailstorm.
* SuddenNameChange: Lockstin had originally settled on the name Arctoyield, which he wasn't a huge fan of, but later chose Arctikull because the latter sounded cooler.

Early in the conflict between Manadza and Arctikull, Manadza decided it wanted a servant to assist it. Manadza took a Chewmunk, known for having amazing potential for evolution, and blessed it. The little rodent transformed into Tamunk, a Grass/Fairy emissary of Manadza. It flies ahead of Manadza's path, using the power of nature to make plants grow, and preparing the region for Manadza's summer. As such, Tamunk is known as the embodiment of spring.

Shortly after the creation of Tamunk, Arctikull decided it too wanted a servant. It also chose to bless a Chewmunk, transforming it into Temunk, a Grass/Ghost emissary of Artikull. Temunk flies ahead of Arctikull. Using its connection to nature, it spreads a torpor and instinct for death, causing the trees and plants to wither and sleep, in preparation for the harsh winter to follow. Temunk is seen as the embodiment of autumn.

A Psychic/Dark-type Mythical Pokémon, based on depictions of coyotes in Native American mythology. It appeared suddenly one day and has since helped meditate the conflict between Manadza and Arctikull to ensure their rivalry doesn't get out of hand.
----
* CoolOldGuy: An old coot of a coyote who can still kick ass.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Wicoot listens to Tom Bezzle's proposal and even calls up Manadza and Arctikull to discuss it, but has to tell him that what he's asking for isn't workable.
* TheFriendNobodyLikes: The other Legendary Pokémon can't stand Wicoot because of its trickster nature.
* TheTrickster: Demonstrated in its signature moves. Hoodwink swaps its special and physical stats, while Hornswoggle sharply lowers an opponent's attack stats by having Wicoot pretend to be helpless. Lockstin even imagines it escaping from its Poké Ball when caught the first time, essentially pranking the player.
* ThirdPartyPeacekeeper: It serves to meditate the conflict between Manadza and Arctikull, which it used to do alongside the Great Thunderbird. It also serves as the bridge between Tom Bezzle and the Legendary Pokémon in discussing his proposal.
* ThoseWilyCoyotes: Is based directly on the coyote's role in Native American mythology as a benevolent trickster. It's on the side of humanity and keeps the other two Legendary Pokémon in line, but still likes to pull pranks.

%%* BigGood:
* ConflictKiller: While Wicoot resolved conflicts between Mandaza and Arctikull with trickery and diplomacy, the Great Thunderbird would forcibly demand a resolution.
* DentedIron: The Great Thunderbird lost a lot of its former strength in its battle with Primal Kyogre, and constantly resolving dpsiutes between Manadza and Arctikull instead of resting only weakened it further.
* PosthumousCharacter: By the events of the story, it has long since fallen in battle. Its influence is felt on the story via the creation myth of Kaskade, as well as the Relic Key forged from one of its bones.

* AlwaysChaoticEvil: None of the Orbtholod you meet are pleasant.
* BigBad: Of the post-game, where it's revealed that Orbtholod have been influencing past events.
* EldritchAbomination: An alien squid/starfish wizard.
* TheManInFrontOfTheMan: Everybody is already aware of Orthbolod's existence and connection to figures of authority in Kaskade, but nobody knows .
* MoreThanMindControl: Orbtholod can't directly control minds, but they can use suggestion to push people into doing what they want.
* PuppeteerParasite: Can subtly influence the thoughts and actions others with its powerful telepathic abilities. It even has the power to rewrite memories, which it first demonstrates... on Lockstin.
* ThoseWereOnlyTheirScouts: Orbtholod are terrifying creatures from Ultra Space that have been subtly influencing many of Kaskade's most powerful people.

* BiblicalMotifs: It's inspired by the army of locust/scorpion creatures depicted in the Book of Revelation.
* HPTo1: Its signature move is meant to be a stronger version of Toxic, but cannot fully KO a Pokémon.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Potentially. Lockstin implies it and its fellow beasts might be reluctantly working for the possessed Endram-Odai.

* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: Its signature move, as stated by Lockstin, is a Ground-type special attack that has a chance to burn... and smells like eggs.

* BiblicalMotifs: It's inspired by the "biblical beast of the sea" from Revelation, which bore seven heads and bear paws. Leoseace has one head in the front, considered the "main head", while its six tails bear six more heads with minds of their own.
* DeathActivatedSuperpower: An inverted example. Leoseace's Soul Passage ability grants it the strongest stat change of the last Pokémon that fainted.
* MaleMightFemaleFinesse: Leoseace is male and more bulky than his comrade, Lamentu.
* MesopotamianMonstrosity: Leoseace is a "serpopard", that being a Mesopotamian mythical beast with the body of a leopard and the neck of a serpent.
* NoBiologicalSex: Averted, Leoseace and Lamentu are the only Ultra Beasts with a defined gender, with Leoseace being 100% male.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Potentially. Lockstin implies he and his fellow beasts might be reluctantly working for the possessed Endram-Odai.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Leoseace and Lamentu are the only Ultra Beasts of their group to be gendered, and Leoseace is primarily blue and is designated to be male.
* SnakesAreSinister: Or in this case, serpopards.

* BiblicalMotifs: It's inspired by two depictions of the Lamb of God in the book of Revelation, most notably the one said to have seven horns and seven eyes. While Lamentu doesn't explicitly have seven horns, it sports two large ram horns and five spikes of white hair which could be considered horns, adding up to a total of seven.
* DeathActivatedSuperpower: Lamentu's Expiation ability triggers when she faints, and heals the next Pokémon switched in of status conditions and half of their HP.
* MaleMightFemaleFinesse: Lamentu is female and built a lot more lean and lithe than her fellow Ultra Beast, Leoseace.
* MesopotamianMonstrosity: Lamentu is inspired by the Mesopotamian goddess Mamitu, a goddess of fate who had a head like a ram.
* NoBiologicalSex: Averted, Leoseace and Lamentu are the only Ultra Beasts with a defined gender, with Lamentu being 100% female.
* NonMaliciousMonster: Potentially. Lockstin implies she and her fellow beasts might be reluctantly working for the possessed Endram-Odai.
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Lamentu and Leoseace are the only gendered Ultra Beasts of their group, and Lamentu is designated as female, although red rather than pink.

* BiblicalMotifs: Endram-Odai partially references the seven-headed Red Dragon of the Book of Revelation that symbolizes Satan.
* CelestialBody: Its body is made of glowing stellar energy, patterned with abstract constellation diagrams.
* TheDogBitesBack: Upon defeat, .
* ExtraEyes: It has eight eyes on each side of its head.
* GoodAllAlong: The red parts of its body are actually a PuppeteerParasite that was controlling the whale.
* GreaterScopeVillain: It seems to be commanding the other Ultra Beasts to ravage Kaskade.
* MeaningfulName: Its name is a partial anagram of Andromeda, referring to the conspiracy theory that the Rapture would begin with the Red Dragon nebula passed through the constellation of Andromeda. Endram-Odai also bears a strong resemblance to the picture that ultimately inspired its design here, where the Red Dragon Nebula was noted to have aligned in exactly the right way to look like a pair of green eyes on a large eerie face with rows of teeth.
* SpaceWhale: In truth, Endram-Odai is .
