For all the songs in Literature/HaruhiSuzumiya. Or the numerous OST, since epic moments deserve epic music, and a show about [[BadassBookworm aliens]], [[{{Moe}} time travelers]], [[AmbiguouslyGay ESPers]], and BadassNormal preventing a LittleMissAlmighty from ending the world would have epic parts everywhere.
----
* "[[https://youtu.be/WWB01IuMvzA God Knows]]".
** Featuring the BadassBookworm as a technically gifted guitarist pretty much for the hell of it. Most awesome thing in the history of anime? Quite [[https://youtu.be/xiEDIrFj3Cs possibly.]]
** Also was responsible for making Haruhi ''the'' definitive [[PlayboyBunny Bunny Girl]] in all of anime. [[TheMerch She even got a toy of her in the bunny suit which has the guitar she plays as an accessory]].
** [[https://youtu.be/UnJ8cmaT3Ek The version from the English dub]] is ''also'' really cool. Rather than writing a new song to fill in, they largely stick to a rough translation of the lyrics. In addition, this version is ''arguably'' more faithful to how Haruhi singing is described in the book: not perfect, but certainly more than enough to thrill up the crowd and make people want to buy [=CDs=] to taste the refined version.
** Masaaki Endoh, you have new rivals. [[https://youtu.be/kr4crv2pcrU Their names are Marco and ShowZ.]]
** [[https://youtu.be/Xw9pcEXszBc The Genderbend version]] is also this, and is ''dripping'' with sexiness (as if the original wasn't).
* [[https://youtu.be/MI_wWlz2Rck Lost My Music]] as well.
** [[Creator/CristinaValenzuela Cristina Vee]]'s [[https://youtu.be/smIJ0oUGpUs fandub]] is so good!
** Equally awesome is her rendition of the second season theme song, [[https://youtu.be/GDvrqRq6veI Super Driver]].
* Tchaikovsky's [[http://youtu.be/PLHj-eekdNU?t=6m49s Symphony #4 Movement 4]] from the climax of "Day of Sagittarius III" and [[https://youtu.be/8FrUHBOYdsw#t=4m16s Mahler's Symphony #8 Part 1]] from the climax of the first season. Both of them are also awesome outside of this context, naturally, but this is where they accompanied [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome Moments of Awesome]]. Also the piece that played '''during''' the battle, Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 'Leningrad', [[https://youtu.be/gGnv23IRDvM The Invasion]].
* [[https://youtu.be/wdXkSjpvF74 Yuki, Muon, Madobe Nite]]. Obviously [[TheQuietOne Yuki]]'s ImageSong, this can be very surprising if you didn't already know that Creator/MinoriChihara's a solo artist. %% If you love Yuki's ImageSong, then [[https://youtu.be/PsPtl3J3tSc THIS]] will blow you away.
%%What is "THIS"? Do not uncomment this part of the example without adding a title AND an explanation for why it's awesome.
* If you count the {{image song}}s in, you can add [[https://youtu.be/C7bQG6LcMDY Kyon's Hare Hare Yukai]], [[https://youtu.be/Ns6GqJboWCE COOL EDITION]] from Asakura and [[https://youtu.be/sFMz8EGieh8 SELECT]] from Nagato.
* Asakura's other song, [[https://youtu.be/4fZukCwUcgg Koyubi de Gyutsu]]. The complete opposite of COOL EDITION, this one is about the sweet and gentle person she pretends to be. SugarWiki/SweetDreamsFuel in pure form.
* Mikuru's ImageSong, [[https://youtu.be/rTmjBTuDMRI Toki no Puzzle]], probably should be under SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming|Moments}}[=/=]TearJerker territory. She sings about how her mission sadly keeps her from fulfilling her desire to be with Kyon. Mikuru finally gets a chance to rock out like her fellow Brigade girls with [[https://youtu.be/zmR1OSIhM8g Etto Returns Shite Revenge]].
* Haruhi herself gets a particularly rockin' one with the piano-and-guitar-driven [[https://youtu.be/86Q_ana7kuw "Parallel Days",]] Tsuruya-san shows off her cute voice with [[https://youtu.be/l-8Daiqs4xc "Seishun Ii Janai Ka",]] which stands out with a great Chinese string section, and Itsuki's purring sex of a voice translates to music with the fun, earwormy [[https://youtu.be/aKXH9uf06cM "Maggaare Spectacle",]] which also has little voice snippets from Yuki and Mikuru!
* You may not care about the character much or even ''remember'' her. But Emiri's [[https://youtu.be/yFG3AaaMXS0 Fixed Mind]] is gorgeous and heart-touching.
* Another one from Tsuruya: [[https://youtu.be/Q3lHiAozx_4 Megassa Koukishin]]. Gentle, thoughtful and adorable.
* Okay, it's official from the season 2 songs -- anything [[https://youtu.be/e69kpBHxUq4 Yuki]] or [[https://youtu.be/MX7ODa6BwIQ Kyon]] sings will always be awesome.
** Also [[https://youtu.be/wuQDimt2c1c Tsuruya-san]].
** And [[https://youtu.be/8aKSnW85NuY Haruhi herself.]]
* [[https://youtu.be/1IHoFk3HHcM "Koi No Mikuru Densetsu"]] from the first (0th) episode is made of win... and here's what it sounds like in [[https://youtu.be/RBzarI39qs8 Haruhi's head]].
* One of the best songs in the soundtrack is also one of the simplest: [[https://youtu.be/S-5nJdptkp4 Itsumo no Fuukei]], which translates to "Everyday's View". It's known for being that piece of music heard when Kyon talks about no longer believing in aliens, time travelers, and espers in the first episode (in chronological order; it's the second episode in the [[AnachronicOrder other order]]).
%%** [[https://youtu.be/in_ZKsE5xnw This]] [[https://youtu.be/stw4C07pIko one]] gets remixed BookEnds for ''Vanishment''.
%%** And then we have TheMovie version of [[https://youtu.be/YdBMpSweDD0 Itsumo no Fuukei.]]
%%The above examples are zero-context; do not uncomment them without expanding them.
* [[https://youtu.be/NJiOf_sld3k "Oi Oi"]], the "What has Haruhi got us into this time?" music.
** [[https://youtu.be/nZoKpVx_ezI "Comical Hustle"]]. What better way to introduce how eccentric Haruhi really is than with a ska-rock montage?
** For awesome BGM, [[https://youtu.be/sj3LxG7Y-hw "Nagato no Kokuhaku"]] (Nagato's {{leitmotif}}) and [[https://youtu.be/S7_K-XnRmD0 "The Mysterious"]] also come to mind.
** As do [[https://youtu.be/x4iocZtyiZI "Kouchou Kouchou"]] and [[https://youtu.be/9GN9mYb2RGk "Higeki no Heroine".]]
** [[https://youtu.be/c5Xokl8IJkc Nanika ga okashii]]. It's the "[[TemptingFate Nothing can go wrong]]" music.
* The [[https://youtu.be/lVAhO8I2gVg Nagato Vs. Asakura]] music, which is ''absolutely fucking badass AWESOME'' as background track.
** Another awesome battle soundtrack: [[https://youtu.be/CRU5yRIbCEY Kamadouma]] (the Cave Cricket battle music).
** [[https://youtu.be/vnMUVsr75S8 "Kyomuteki Kuukan",]] which plays in the closed spaces.
* The OP and ED are the OP and ED for a ''reason''. You cannot deny the opening bells of [[https://youtu.be/mIKRn1dbT28 Bouken Desho Desho?]] nor have you not sprained something trying to dance to [[https://youtu.be/8DQWKoQdiic Hare Hare Yukai]].
** The new opening of the second season, [[https://youtu.be/rjfKwRb0bi8 "Super Driver"]]. Fuck yeah.
** Understandably overshadowed by those two songs, but [[https://youtu.be/WncqQR7bo5s Tomare!]], the second season's ending, is awesome in its own right as well.
* [[https://youtu.be/RjWNM_meC3w Hare Hare Yukai - Kyon + Kyonko Duet]]! Given, Fans can be quite stupid sometimes and then there are things like this...
* The movie has a Soundtrack Of Awesome.
** The theme song, [[https://youtu.be/rLnxO75bO3E "Tender Oblivion/Yasashii Boukyaku"]] by Yuki’s seiyu Minori Chihara. Granted, it's not so much "awesome" as it is "[[TearJerker extremely touching]]", but a song this good ''needs'' to be aknowledged, dammit! The [[https://youtu.be/7_AtRKsPYLs 'Sonority' version of Tender Oblivion]] is far more powerful. It's an absolute TearJerker, but this rendition just cranks that up. It's the least busy out of the renditions, and all that is left is the beautiful singing itself.
** [[https://youtu.be/9yb7RfwXhxs "Rekishi no Tenkanten",]] or "The Song you usually would associate with a ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'' OneWingedAngel BossFight, right before you get [[CurbStompBattle beaten to the ground]]".
** [[https://youtu.be/5TXSGPnFZCw Kodoku sekai no hirogari]] is a haunting woodwind track, perfectly capturing the isolation and sadness Kyon feels in the alternate world.
** One particularly memorable track: [[https://youtu.be/ACsrDhqNg80 Ready]], which plays while [[spoiler:Kyon decides if he wants to try and restore the old timeline or not.]]
** [[https://youtu.be/5Pg1bRA9w4k Asakura Ryouko to Iu Josei]]. Guess who's back...[[note]][[OhCrap Asakura Ryoko]][[/note]]
* [[https://youtu.be/4HPFiejmERA First Good-Bye]]. Originally from the last episode of the radio drama but re-released as part of the "Imaginary ENOZ" LP.
* [[https://youtu.be/9qVtykipUf8 When I Was in Love]] from the ENOZ album just kills everything else.
* Suzumiya Haruhi no Gensou is essentially a concert of songs from the anime turned into classical music (and also very, very awesome). A few songs have already been mentioned on this page, but listen to the version of [[https://youtu.be/6hluYiRJAAg Lost My Music]] to be completely blown away.
%%* The Russian versions of the first season's songs are quite amazing too.
%%* Taniguchi's character songs for season two are well sung, and the translated lyrics are quite sad to think about.
%%Examples are not general. Do not uncomment the above examples without providing specific tracks and explaining why they're awesome.
