From the first film:
* All of the Clovers' routines.
* The Toros' routine at the championship. It's also nice to see them do an original routine instead of copying others'. Also the mix used in these routines are awesome.
* [[Creator/ElizaDushku Missy]] is introduced wearing a fake [[Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer Faith]] tattoo, then pulls off an athletic routine worthy of a Slayer. Hell of an EstablishingCharacterMoment.
* Torrance trying to do the right thing and pay for the Clovers to go. She's shot down right away, accused of trying to give them guilt money, but it's admirable that she tried to do the right thing for a group of people that threatened to beat her up recently.
** The fact that Isis turns her down is one on its own. The Clovers were depending on her for this to be their year, their chance to get to nationals. Instead of taking the sure thing that (regardless of Torrance's motives) would feel like guilt money or charity, she turns it down, sticks to their plan of writing to Pauletta (an Oprah-like talk show host who had come from the Clovers' neighborhood) for an endorsement. Then, to top it off, cements the fact that she gets that Torrance is actually trying to do the right thing by them after years of Big Red stealing the Clovers routine for the Toros, and tells Torrance that they both need to bring their A-game to the finals. You can almost see the change in their relationship to friendly rivals.
* Torrance catches Aaron cheating on her and assertively dumps him. He deserves it.
--> '''Torrance:''' [[IronicEcho You're a great cheerleader, Aaron. It's just that... maybe you're not exactly "boyfriend" material.]] Bu-bye!
* The Toros accept coming in second gracefully. That's better than they did while Big Red was around, because while the Toros always came in first while she was captain, at this time they competed honestly and earned their position.
** More noteworthy when one considers that it is genuinely living up to the ideal of "it's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game." This is the Toros earning second place on their own merits rather than winning with the stolen routine, and the final line of the movie is Torrance saying that their second place win "feels like first."
* In the scene where Whitney and Courtney want to overthrow Torrance as captain, and forgo the National competition, it is Casey- [[ShrinkingViolet the shy, insecure one of the Toros]] who actually stands up for Torrance, by telling Whitney to "Shut up!"
* For a movie released in the late 90s, the fact that Les, a gay guy, is treated as just one of the gang, and even having a MeetCute during the competition is pretty impressive. Sure, FairForItsDay does apply with how they don't do more than trade flirty looks, but a movie from 2000 (with a PG-13 rating, no less) treating a gay character not as some sort of object lesson or tragic figure, and even having a moment of flirtation (intentionally chosen to be given to him and not a straight character), is a pretty big deal for the time.
