* One of the veterans saying "Let's drop some lead on those mother-" before the big guns start firing.
* Nagata taking down two alien spaceships by blind firing missiles at where he guesses they'll be. He misses on his first few salvos... and then when he scores the hits it's ''so'' sweet.
* The USS ''John Paul Jones'' taking down the third alien ship by having two sharpshooters (Hopper and Nagata) blow out its bridge windows, exposing the cripplingly-photosensitive aliens' eyes to the morning sun, blinding them and leaving the ship near-helpless as the ''JPJ'' [[AlphaStrike blows it to bits with every weapon it has]].
* Watching the reactivation of the USS ''Missouri'' under the hands of the veterans to the tune of Music/{{ACDC}}'s "Thunderstruck" is majestic.
** What makes it even better is that the ship used to portray the ''Missouri'' is the actual ''Missouri'', which is a real life museum and, prior to filming, had not sailed in over a decade. The reactivation we see onscreen is her actual reactivation and first voyage in years, crewed entirely by actual veterans. (To be fair though, some of her shots at sea during filming were assisted by tugboats, probably to keep the US Navy from worrying about losing one of their most iconic vessels.)
*** To be clear, the ''Missouri'' hasn't traveled under its own power since 1992, and though nothing prevents it from sailing again, it has been fully decomissioned and would require months or years of work by thousands of people to re-activate her. The ''Missouri'' is actually sailing in a few shots, although towed by tugs, because the filmmakers took advantage of the ship just leaving a drydock repair in 2010 (a once-in-a-decade event, more or less) and got permission to have her towed off Oahu for filming. The fact the production team would go through all this effort, to the point of arranging the film's schedule around the ''Missouri'''s availability, is quite impressive.
* After destroying what they think is the last of the enemy's ships, our heroes turn to the nebulous shield generator... which then reveals itself to be the biggest warship yet.
* The entire battle between the ''Missouri'' and the alien battleship, from the ballsy maneuver Alex has the ship pull off to the ''Missouri'''s repeated point-blank salvos into the alien ship with the main guns (and old veterans firing .50-cals), and finishing with [[GunshipRescue the FA-18 fighters swooping in to blow the crippled enemy vessel apart]].
** Note that the maneuver was essentially a powerslide. [[ViolationOfCommonSense With a Battleship.]] [[note]]The actual nautical term is "[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchor#Club_hauling club hauling]]".[[/note]] Probably also counts as FridgeBrilliance as, coupling it with his previous order to Raikes to aim all mainguns to starboard, he basically had Mighty Mo prepare to go "Broadside On"[[note]]Having all main guns of a battleship aim at one side; something that veteran naval captains and ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarships'' players know all too well...[[/note]] to unload some lead on the enemy. It even works as a ''confusion tactic'' against the aliens, whose technology and fighting style is based around only engaging ''direct threats'' to their vessels. Turning the guns all starboard and therefore ''away'' from the enemy ship confuses the hell out of its operators and gives the ''Missouri'' the few seconds she needs to close in and set up her moves while the aliens have to manually override and aim their own weapons. By the time they even figure out what in the world is going on, they're staring down the barrels of nine very angry and ready-to-rock 16 inch guns.
* Mick overcoming the loss of confidence that came with the loss of his legs, and giving the alien marine an old-fashioned beatdown. Doubles as a SugarWiki/{{Heartwarming Moment|s}} when he gets his medal. Doubly awesome considering he's an actual amputee ''who did his own stunts!''
** At one point we actually see him punch some of the alien's teeth out.
** Also, the astrophysicist overcoming his shell-shock enough to smash the same alien in the face with his equipment case.
