* Mikasa Ackerman and Annie Leonhart from Manga/AttackOnTitan both have their fair share of admirers (or potential admirers), partially because they are two of the biggest badasses around. Since the cast are soldiers, it's entirely justified that they would be attracted to physically and mentally strong women that can hold their own in battle. Eren in particular is immediately drawn to Annie because of her formidable skills, though the exact nature of their feelings for each other remain ambiguous.
* In Literature/Baccano, ProfessionalKiller Claire Stanfield falls in love at first sight with silent assassin Chane Laforet after seeing her knife-fighting skills against PsychoForHire Ladd Russo using a SHOTGUN. He even buys her a dress with knife holsters.
* In Manga/Berserk, Guts fell in love with Casca because of her being able to fight and kick ass just as much as he can. He confessed to Judeau that he would never go for a woman unable to defend herself unaided. [[spoiler:This makes her both physical and mental rape at the hands of Griffith during the Eclipse that much worse.]] Later on, after [[spoiler:what happened to her, Guts' EnemyWithin uses this to try to convince him that Casca is not the woman he fell in love with anymore and that he should forget about her and return to pursuing revenge.]]
* While not as pointed out or commented on (usually), Rock of Manga/BlackLagoon seems to be more than happy to be around Revy during the later parts of the series. Just don't ever point this out around the latter, even if you are a "friend".
* In Manga/BlueSeed: Computer expert and all-around geek Yoshiki Yaegashi openly admits in one of the last episodes of the series that he's fallen for heavy weapons expert Koume Sawaguchi. Koume's initial response is to reject him, but after he protects her from an attack at his own physical expense and later demonstrates to her an inner strength of self which she herself lacks, she comes around.
-->Yaegashi: I was just thinking what a strong woman you are, Koume.\
Koume: Huh?\
Yaegashi: But that strength is what makes you so attractive!
* In Manga/BokuNoFutatsuNoTsubasa Keigo suddenly decides to try and "catch" Mako after he sees her beat up a group of muggers trying to steal her mobile telephone.
* Manga/BootyRoyaleNeverGoDownWithoutAFight: Given that this is a series about sex workers who practice martial arts...
** Porn director Victor Iba's favorite kind of woman is the kind that can kick his ass into next week. In the first arc he comes up with an AV scenario wherein protagonist Misora, a karate black belt, has to fight a hundred men in succession, and if she loses to any of them she gets gangbanged. He later tries to break into mainstream filmmaking with the BMovie Fist of the Tokyo She-Beast, starring Misora and several other martial arts-practicing idols, and takes up the role of Misora's coach during the TournamentArc.
** TV producer Narumi Shuranosuke, like Iba, is deeply turned on by warrior women, and as a result is the key planner of the Valkyrie Opera all-female MMA tournament, which he encourages Misora, now comfortable in her role as a gravure idol, to enter because he wants to see her use her karate skills as more than just a marketing gimmick.
** Sleazy talent scout Toro Samon, notorious for abusing the CastingCouch, falls head-over-heels in love with Eve Ogundipe, a Nigerian woman who practices dambé (a traditional style of boxing that grew out of West African spear-and-shield combat drills) and resolves to win her over for real.
* Manga/ABridesStory: Umar is not particularly fond of "delicate" girls, since he has trouble figuring out how to deal with them. A brash, iron-willed woman like Pariya, on the other hand? Definitely not delicate. When the axle of their cart snaps while they're out of town, Umar is amazed at Pariya's ability to lift the entire cart off the ground to let him fit the subtitute axle they cut from a small tree, repeatedly stealing glances at her while she's straining to hold it off the ground and smiling. His father is much the same, though for much sadder reasons: his wife died young due to a weak constitution, so his hopes for Umar are that he find a woman strong enough to never leave him a widower.
* In Manga/CaseClosed, Shinichi doesn't seem very put-off by Ran's karate skills... unless Tsundere she's directing them at him.
* In Manga/Claymore, Raki falls in love with Clare because he appreciates the fact that every day she fights against man-eating monsters to protect the humans. And it does not take long until Clare falls in love with Raki.
* In Anime/CodeGeass, WorthyOpponent Gino is smitten with FieryRedhead Kallen in large part because she's the best all-around female fighter (i.e. both as a mecha pilot and martial artist) in the series.
* The page quote comes from Anime/CowboyBebop: TheMovie, wherein Spike is inspired to ask a cute Mars Special Forces officer on a date... while she's attempting to beat the crap out of him, and, considering that he's basically Bruce Lee, doing a damn fine job. TheLabRat is also smitten with the same lady, and asks for a date in exchange for her help. She appears somewhat squicked by the thought.
** A MemeticMutation by voice actor Gianni Matragrano alters Spike’s quote to “I love the kind of woman that will actually just kill me,” before delving into a…rather bizarre monologue detailing exactly what he wants her to do to him. You can watch for yourself here.
* Anime/CrossAnge:
** Embryo is a rare villainous example. He expresses his love for Amazon types, though he prefers to have them broken first. He quickly fixates on Ange, who represents the cultured yet untamable nature of humanity he so desperately wants to see in everyone. In his own words, he'd rather have a world ruled by "strong, intelligent women".
** Ange’s actual LoveInterest Tusk falls for Ange for her fierce passionate nature, even if she Tsundere frequently beats him up for his AccidentalPervert moments.
* Anime/DanceWithDevils: The student council first become interested in Ritsuka Tachibana, when she stood up for herself to them in the first episode.
* The Manga/DevilmanLady manga has a subversion of NoGuyWantsAnAmazon with Seiji Hayami: he is having an EroticDream of Jun Fudo but it ends abruptly when he imagines her transforming into her scary amazonian Devilman form, he seems turned off by that form but a few pages later reveals to Jun that he was moved by her beauty and strength while she was in her Devilman Lady form. In the OVA, Jason Bates says he would have liked Jun more if she was stronger than him.
* Franchise/DragonBall:
** In Anime/DragonBallZ, part of Gohan's attraction to Videl is due to the fact she's a skilled warrior who fights crime. She reciprocates as he's a kindhearted and brave person who also fights for what's right. They eventually form a BattleCouple in the form of The Great Saiyaman & Saiyawoman, before marrying years later.
** According to Vegeta in Anime/DragonBallSuper, it is common for Saiyans to fall for strong and feisty women, a trait that he claims encompassed all Saiyan women. While Chi-Chi is very strong in her own right by human standards and even terrifies friends and family who are magnitudes stronger than her (including Goku), Bulma apparently won over Vegeta through strength of personality alone. Piccolo's mental response is "This explains...... everything"
*** VideoGame/DragonBallZKakarot’s Bardock’s Alone Against Fate DLC shows this attitude from Saiyan men towards powerful females was at its most palpable when female Saiyans were still around. Case in point Fasha TheSquadette of Bardock had gotten an intense admirer Spini, whom was willingly to let himself to get beaten to near death by Bardock simply for the sake of getting powerful enough to impress her.
** Krillin is also attracted to strong women, being attracted to, and then marrying Android 18, who is significantly stronger than him. In the non-canon movie Anime/DragonBallZBojackUnbound, Krillin is attracted to Zangya, who is also stronger than him, kicking his ass fairly handily.
** Seemingly averted by Bardock, who was attracted to Gine despite her being possibly one of the least amazon-like Saiyans in canon.
* During the fantasia parade in Manga/FairyTail, when Erza was presented on the platform, a man from the crowd says, "Marry me, Titania!"
* Manga/GetterRobo: Armageddon--Kei takes a page from Ryoko and Mao and turns it up to eleven by defeating a Metal Beast (which had just finished utterly owning the rest of the army) while completely naked. The first things she's greeted with afterward are the simultaneous nosebleeds of all but two of her teammates.
* In Manga/GetterRobo Go misogynist Jerkass Schwarzkof falls for LadyOfWar Shou (as does Linda) due to her piloting skill, strength, and strong character.
* In Manga/Gintama:
** Kagura's father, Umibozu, was attracted to her mother, Kouka, because his instincts (and his crotch) told him that he could possibly die if he got involved with her. (But then again, he also got a RagingStiffie at an inappropriate moment when he was facing ...)
** Kondou is not an open masochist like Sarutobi, but he pines after Otae, who beats the tar out of him several times a day.
** It's up in the air if Tatsuma & Mutsu have romantic feelings for eachother, but Tatsuma was persistently determined to have the pavement pounding girl at his side.
* The antagonistic Mafia boss Goldie of Manga/GunsmithCats is a rare PsychoLesbian version of this, lusting after first Rally Vincent herself and then Misty Brown for their respective statuses as Action Girls. At least with Rally, it seems to be a case of ILoveYouBecauseICantControlYou.
* When Houli confesses his love for Leo at the beginning of Manga/HowToTreatALadyKnightRight, he openly declares that Leo's muscular abs are one of the many things he loves about her and that he has no interest in sheltered girls raised just to be pretty. His sister confirms this is his type when she notes that, if you ignore his habit of ogling girls with nice muscles, he's an amazing big brother.
* Manga/InuYasha:
** Sango is a demon hunter who wields a bone boomerang bigger than she is. While she doesn't receive much romantic attention throughout most of the series, both her canon love interests Miroku and Kuranosuke Takeda certainly appreciate that she can beat them all the way around the block and back. Takeda is the bigger example of the two; he fell into starry-eyed infatuation-at-first-sight while watching her beat the crap out of an enormous demon with the aforementioned boomerang.
** Kagura is worth noting because the one girl to become Sesshomaru's ImpliedLoveInterest was also the only one who dared to shout insults to his face.
* The pure hero Bell Cranel from Literature/IsItWrongToTryToPickUpGirlsInADungeon falls in love with the girl who saved him from a monster.
* In Anime/JunkBoy, sex addict protagonist Ryohei visits a brothel and is horrified to see a bulky BrawnHilda prostitute, only to witness a salaryman half her size jump into her arms and start showering her with affection.
* In Manga/KimagureOrangeRoad, Kyōsuke Kasuga definitely prefers AloofDarkHairedGirl Madoka Ayukawa over clingy, sweet Hikaru. However, he is the only one in his school attracted to her; all of the other guys are shit scared of her for her bad reputation. The rivals he worries about are quite a bit older (and mostly in his head)... And despite that, no one would dispute that Madoka is very beautiful.
* Manga/MagiLabyrinthOfMagic: Alibaba eventually falls in love with Morgiana, who did most of the heavy lifting before Alibaba TookALevelInBadass, and fights mostly with GoodOldFashionedFisticuffs in world where most people fight with magic.
** In the prequel series, Mystras starts dating Hinahoho's little sister Pipirika, and even says that he finds the fact that she's bigger than him "cute".
* Manga/MakenKi:
** According to the rules at Tenbi Academy any guy who wants date any of the female students has to earn the right by defeating them in a duel first. Except the girls are vastly superior in terms of physical strength and Elemental power, so the guys already know what they're getting into when they throw down the gauntlet.
** Trope, since the faculty made it a rule as a means of trying to prevent the male students from harassing the female students; which hasn't stopped a brave few, like Kai Kuragasa, from trying. He nurses an unrequited crush on Azuki Shinatsu, because she's hot and happens to be one of the strongest students at the academy.
* Manga/Naruto:
** It's Trope that Sasuke is this with Sakura. In Chapter 632, he gives a rather flirty smirk when she first shows the power of her Yin Seal by demolishing a bunch of Ten-Tails mini-clones in the WarArc. Later in Manga/NarutoGaiden, when demonstrates a chakra-enhanced punch , Sasuke sports that same proud smirk. Bonus points because while Sasuke has that smirk on his face, Naruto looks absolutely terrified of her. %%- This entry is already good as it is. Do not change it.
** Naruto plays this straight with Hinata. In Chapter 80, Naruto admits he "never knew Hinata was this incredible" when he finds out she adopted his nindō and he sees how Determinator she refuses to give up in her "fight" against Neji. In Chapter 559, Naruto reassures Hinata that she's strong when she doubts herself and sports a proud smile when he recalls how she defended him from Pain. In Chapter 629, Naruto sports another proud smile when he sees that Hinata's leading his defense. In the canon movie The Last, Naruto comments on Hinata's strength twice -- first is when he's confused over Sakura's request to have him walk Hinata home, because he thinks no one in the village would dare mess with Hinata because she's "really strong"; second is in TheStinger, where .
** Naruto's father, Minato, was this with Naruto's mother, Kushina. Kushina was a tough lady, and Minato became smitten with her after he realized that she could fight off her bullies without any help.
* Manga/OnePiece:
** Boa Hancock is greatly admired by her (female) subjects because Amazon Lily follows the mandate of "strength equals beauty". And she has the worldwide reputation and the skills to back it up, plus she's extremely beautiful.
** Out of the Warrior Princes from the Vinsmoke clan (), two of them (Niji and Yonji) like their girls not only pretty, but plucky and spunky. As such, when they meet Nami and see her , the two declare that they quite appreciate her fiery temper. (Their AloofBigBrother Ichiji is just as smitten with Nami, but he hasn't said anything about her spunk.)
** Sanji himself has shades of this, while he loves protecting women, he is as equally attracted to Nami's HairTriggerTemper and WeatherManipulation skills, not mention whenever Nami beats him up to his bumps are literally heart-shaped. The anime took this even further as at one point in Filler Nami kills Devil Fruit user Eric the Whirlwind by kicking him into the ocean, all the guys are impressed but Sanji in particular has heart-eyes at this display.
* Manga/RanmaOneHalf: For much of the anime's first season, Akane starts each schoolday being assaulted by all the guys at Furinkan Highschool. Each of them declares their love for her and asks her to go out with them as she's mopping the floor with them, in quick succession. That's because Tatewaki Kuno used his authority as upperclassman to decree that he'll allow no one to date Akane unless they can defeat her. Since the guys know they're outmatched, they gang up on her to try to even the odds... and they still lose pitifully. Usually in seconds. They finally stop trying once Ranma enrolls at the school, since he's the first guy Akane couldn't beat, but mostly because of their ArrangedMarriage.
** Speaking of Tatewaki Kuno, he himself is an example of this trope, making it very clear that his attraction to Akane Tendo and "the pigtailed girl" is based on their fighting prowess, strength and fiery temperaments. He first began to lust for "the pigtailed girl" after she dealt him a CurbStompBattle on their first meeting, whilst with Akane, he reacts to pictures of her lifting weights or performing her kempo exercises with as much excitement and desire as he does to the more conventionally sexualized pictures that Nabiki is willing to sell him of "the pigtailed girl". A late anime/mid-manga story has him being largely indifferent to the obvious attraction of the Martial Arts Cheerleader Mariko, until he sees her using her skills to beat up other kendo fighters to prove her feelings for him -- then he starts to act interested.
* The Valkyrie Þrúðr/Thrud in Manga/RecordOfRagnarok is a muscular giant of a woman who smashes through a doorway in her first appearance (as one would expect of a daughter of Thor), before accusing Raiden Tameemon of seeing her as a freak. Raiden (who has a pretty HeroicBuild himself) is instead overjoyed and wraps her in a bear hug, telling her he's "very fond of big girls".
* In Manga/RedRiver1995, even though Yuri Suzuki doesn't fit the usual Amazon image (she's a rather scrawny teenage Japanese girl, for starters), she is very good at combat and even better at planning, to the point where everyone believes that she's some sort of avatar of the war goddess, Ishtar. Kail absolutely adores his "Ishtar", and the two often fight alongside each other in battle.
* In a manga omake, Ryuu-oh's father in Manga/RGVeda specifically tells his young son that he fell for Ryuu-oh's mother because she's "macho, strong, wild and cool". Amusingly, his wife says she loves him for "being a good cook, sweet-tempered, clean and handsome". Ryuu-oh's conclusion? "YAY, I WANT A MACHO WIFE!"
* In the Manga/SailorMoon prequel Manga/CodenameSailorV Ace admits he's in love with Sailor Venus [[spoiler:since their past lives]] in part because of her strength (he's even among those who refers to her as the Goddess of War). Unfortunately, [[spoiler:in this one he's also Danburite, Kunzite's Dragon]], and he dies .
* Ophiuchus Shaina from Manga/SaintSeiya was liked by her student Cassios because she was the fiercest and most beautiful woman he knew. Seiya himself is enticed by her beauty and her strength, despite his initial refusal to fight her full force because she's a woman. Shaina did not approve-and so he started refusing to fight her at all if he has any alternative because he's terrified this time nobody will stop her from killing him.
* Anime/SamuraiChamploo: Mugen is hot-blooded enough to go for any attractive woman he comes across but the only ones given any characterization are unusually self-assured and turn out to be a lot more trouble than he anticipated. Either they outmaneuver him using their wits and wiles or give him a run for his money in combat. Notably, the woman Mugen spent the most time chasing- Yatsuha, the ninja- was one who embodied both types. Mugen even proudly announced to her how much he liked "tough chicks."
* Manga/SgtFrog: Giroro immediately fell for Natsumi after she effortlessly handed his ass to him in battle. She's now the only Earthling he doesn't want to destroy. The two even act as an unofficial BattleCouple and work incredibly well together.
* Literature/ShakuganNoShana: Eita's introduction to Margery was her beating up thugs. Afterwards he has a goofy look on his face and asks for permission to call her 'elder sister'.
* Manga/SpyXFamily: Twilight noticeably lights up when Yor fully displays her "self-defense" skills and sends a mook flying with a kick.
* Anime/SuperDimensionCavalrySouthernCross (aka season 2 of Anime/Robotech) has known player, Charles de Etouard, chasing after the AcePilot Mary Angel -- one of the three female protagonist of the show. Unlike the other women whose hearts he played with, Charles falls pretty hard for Angel.
* Maximilian Jenius from Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross (aka season 1 of Anime/Robotech) takes an immediate interest in Millia because she's great at playing Valkyrie combat simulator. He asks her to marry him right away after he realizes she's a LadyOfWar from a proud warrior alien race who takes her losses against him seriously.
* Literature/SwordArtOnline: Kirito is often stunned speechless by the sight of Asuna in action. He's described her as "an angel" and her combos as "pure beauty".
* Manga/TenjhoTenge has Souichirou Nagi nursing a crush on the elder Natsume sister Maya for the better part of the story. Her strength and beauty captivated him when she knocked him out of a third story window with one move. This is after he had beaten his way through over a dozen students just before that. Love struck indeed.
* In Manga/UruseiYatsura known pervert Ataru hints to be one, given that when he set up a beauty contest the second test was a strength test and the third a wrestling match.
* Hak from Manga/YonaOfTheDawn is an unusual example. He fell in love with Yona when she was a sheltered, ladylike princess and she is still far weaker than him, but he clearly considers her increased level of badassery a turn on.
