* In the ''Comicbook/{{Animorphs}}'' graphic novels:
** Tom's hair is the same shade of brown as Jake's. The original books describe them as looking [[StrongFamilyResemblance very similar]], except that Tom's hair and eyes are darker.
** Rachel's sister Jordan is blonde like her, while the books say that she has brown hair like their mom.
* Notably averted in ''ComicBook/AnneOfWestPhilly'', an adaption of ''Anne of Green Gables''. Anne is {{Race Lift}}ed to a black teenager, but still has naturally red hair.
* In the 2004 ''ComicBook/{{Bionicle}}'' comics, Vakama's lime green and Onewa's dark blue eyes are replaced with bright blue and orange visors respectively. Nidhiki's green eyes become red. The black and red Turaga Dume also turns black and gray, though that may be due to oddly placed shadows.
* ''ComicBook/TheBoys'' has a lot of this between the comic and the [[Series/TheBoys2019 Amazon series]].
** Queen Mauve is a blonde in the comic, but a redhead in the show. Her costume is changed from a blue and silver color scheme to a maroon and silver-grey one.
** Hughie has brown eyes in the comic but has blue eyes in the show. He’s also not a ComicBookFantasyCasting of Creator/SimonPegg ([[CastingGag though Simon Pegg does play Hughie’s dad]]).
** Stormfront has a red costume in the comic, in the show [[GenderLift she]] has a dark red and [[DarkIsEvil black costume]].
** Soldier Boy has a CaptainPatriotic red, white and blue costume in the comic. In the show he instead has a military green costume with black and gold embroidery.
** Starlight has blue eyes in the comics, but has brown ones in the show.
** [[spoiler: Black Noir is blonde in the comic being a clone of Homelander, in the show he has dark hair getting a RaceLift and being unconnected to Homelander.]]
* ''ComicBook/TheCrow'': in the transition from comic to [[Film/TheCrow1994 the 1994 film]], Shelly went from being blonde to brunette.
* Hawk originally had blond hair in ''ComicBook/GIJoeARealAmericanHeroMarvel'', but was given black hair in the animated series to distinguish him from Duke, the other blond-haired G.I. Joe leader (who actually appeared before Hawk in the animated series). The toyline followed suit by giving every Hawk action figure released afterward black or brown hair -- except for the ones that came in comic packs in the 2000s.
** ''ComicBook/GIJoeReloaded'' changes Roadpig so that his hair is red instead of white with red streaks.
* The Creator/IDWPublishing ''ComicBook/{{Gobots}}'' comic book miniseries colored Stretch black when ''WesternAnimation/ChallengeOfTheGobots'' and his original toy Tux had him colored white.
* The ''ComicBook/{{Hellboy}}'' franchise did this to Liz Sherman: Red hair in the comics, black in the live action movies, and some shade of brown in the animated movies.
** Abe Sapien also received a color change, going from green-skinned in the comics to blue-skinned in the movies.
*** Highly likely changed to allow the GreenScreen process to work.
* Several characters from ''ComicBook/{{Invincible}}'' had their eyes or hair changed from comic to [[WesternAnimation/Invincible2021 animated series]].
** The titular hero Mark has blue eyes in the comic (at least in the panels where his face is more detailed), while in the show he has brown eyes. This likely due to his mother Debbie getting a RaceLift being voiced by Creator/SandraOh making Mark biracial.
** Eve in the comics has tangerine orange hair and bright green eyes, in the show she has reddish orange hair and bluish-green eyes.
** Amber has blonde hair and blue eyes in the comics, in the show due to getting a RaceLift has dark hair and brown eyes instead.
** Rex Splode has reddish hair and darker skin instead of the whiter skin and brown hair of his comic version. [[spoiler: This also effects Robot when he gets a human body, in the comic he had light red hair whilst in the show he has dark reddish hair and dark skin due to taking DNA from Rex to create his new body.]]
** Amanda aka Monster Girl has blue eyes and light brown hair in the comic, but instead has dark brown hair and grey eyes in the show.
* Wendy Watson from ''ComicBook/TheMiddleman'' has orange hair in the original comic series, and was played by black-haired Natalie Morales in [[Series/TheMiddleman the TV series]]. The comic, which is actually set in the TV continuity, uses Morales' appearance.
* ''Series/PaperGirls'': In the comics, Mac has red hair. Her actress Sofia Rosinsky is a brunette.
* A toy-line related one: Pepper of the doll line ''Toys/PinkieCooperAndTheJetSetPets'' has dark brown [[EarsAsHair ear-hair]]. In the [[FanWorks fan comic]] ''ComicBook/PinkyAndPepperForever'' it's a solid deep blue color. [[https://pinkiecooperandthejetsetpets.fandom.com/wiki/Pepper_Parson?file=NOPPackage_2.png It's based on an outfit set for Pepper that came with blue-streaked ponytails.]]
* ''ComicBook/SabrinaTheTeenageWitch'':
** Salem was an orange cat for most of the series. The [[Series/SabrinaTheTeenageWitch live action]] show made him into a more traditional black cat and gave him the ability to speak, [[RetCanon both of which were implemented]] into the comics.
** Sabrina herself traditionally has pale platinum blonde hair in the comics, but the live action TV show gave her golden blonde hair, which later carried over to [[WesternAnimation/SabrinaTheAnimatedSeries the animated series]] and became her main hair color for much of the '90s and 2000s. 2010s comics differ on whether she has golden blonde or platinum hair. ''ComicBook/ChillingAdventuresOfSabrina'' reconciles the two by showing that Sabrina was born with golden blonde hair (like her mother) but it lightened to a near-white shade of platinum blonde due to her being half-witch.
** The comics' versions of Hilda and Zelda have red and green hair, respectively, but the live action show made them both blonde, while the animated series made Zelda the redhead and Hilda a brunette.
** Sabrina's boyfriend Harvey has black hair in the comics, but light brown in both the sitcom and the cartoon.
* ''ComicBook/ScottPilgrim'':
** Scott Pilgrim's ex-girlfriend Envy, lead singer of The Clash At Demonhead, was a redhead in the comic but a blonde in the [[Film/ScottPilgrimVsTheWorld film]].
** According to the back cover of Vol. 2, Todd Ingram is brown-haired , but he is blond-haired in the movie, and has orange hair in the game.
** Gideon Graves has black hair in the comics, dark brown hair in the movie, and ''purple'' hair in the game.
** Several of the characters who had black hair in the comics appear with purple hair in the game.
* The Black Smurfs from ''ComicBook/TheSmurfs'' story of the same name were changed to purple in the [[WesternAnimation/TheSmurfs1981 1980s]] AnimatedAdaptation and the Papercutz English translation of the original story. For the same reasons, the orange-skinned Swoofs from "The Astro Smurf" were changed to green in the cartoon show and the Papercutz English translation, and Grandpa Swoof's black hair was changed to white.
** The nameless lord that the Smurfs meet in "The Hunger Of The Smurfs" had black hair, but when [[NamedByTheAdaptation he became Mr. Poppery]] in the cartoon show adaptation "Haunted Smurfs", his hair was changed to gray.
** Azrael himself gets a dye job in the 1980s cartoon show, with his orange fur changed to brown.
* Princess Sally of ''ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehogArchieComics'' is quite the odd one. In Sally's first appearance, she was red-furred and blonde-haired. The very next issue, she was pink-furred and black-haired to match her ''WesternAnimation/SonicTheHedgehogSatAM'' counterpart. However, that look was only used for the pilot episode. Then the cartoon settled on a brown-furred and auburn-haired combination and it would take about two years for the comic to catch up. Eventually, one comic explained this by revealing that she had fallen into a vat of chemicals while on a mission, and it took her a long time to properly wash it out of her fur.
* ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'':
** Although Splinter's brown fur is usually kept in adaptations, it was turned gray for the [[WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2003 second cartoon]] and [[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesIDW IDW comics]].
** Also in the original underground Eastman and Laird comics, whenever the Turtles were depicted in color, their masks were uniformly red. [[ColorCodedCharacters They were colored coded for the kids' convenience]] in all other depictions except this one.
** The early Mirage comics depicted April O'Neil with dark hair, which was changed to be a lighter auburn in the '80s cartoon. Her blue jumpsuit was also changed to be yellow, and she underwent a possible RaceLift (which has stuck to her modern incarnations).
** In the [[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesAdventures the Archie comics]], Null had white skin. In the [[ComicBook/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesIDW IDW comics]], Null's skin is red.
* ''ComicBook/TheUmbrellaAcademy'':
** Luther in the comic has white hair, in the [[Series/TheUmbrellaAcademy show]] he’s got light brown hair.
** Diego has blonde hair in the comic, but dark hair in the show due to being played by David Castaneda who’s Spanish.
** Allison has got purple hair in the comic, in the show she has dark hair being played Emmy Raver-Lampman who’s black.
** Klaus fitting his [[ISeeDeadPeople power]], has a vampire tan in the comic while in the show he has normal Caucasian-coloured skin.
** Vanya (now [[AdaptationalGenderIdentity Viktor]] in the show) in the comic has an entirely white body upon getting her permanent SuperMode. In the show only their skin and goes white while their hair remains dark and it’s only when activating their [[MakeSomeNoise power]] does his skin turn white at all.
** Reginald Hargreeves has red hair in the comic, while in the show he has grey hair that was formerly brown. [[spoiler: Subverted in both cases since it’s a really wig, as he’s a alien.]]
* ''ComicBook/{{Witch}}'':
** In the comics Will has red hair and brown eyes. In [[WesternAnimation/{{Witch}} the cartoon]] Will's hair color and eye color [[CurtainsMatchTheWindow match]] (they're both red).
** Matt and Hay Lin's grandmother received got black hair in the animated adaptation (whereas they usually have brown and grey hair respectively).
** In the comics, Phobos and Elyon have medium straw blond hair. In the show, they have a platinum shade.
** Irma's hair is a lighter shade of brown.
* In the original ''ComicBook/WynonnaEarp'' comics, the title character is blonde. On [[Series/WynonnaEarp the show]], she's got dark hair.
