* AudienceAlienatingPremise: It's a multiplayer-based tactical shooter spin-off of ''Franchise/ResidentEvil'', but it ended up being a worst-of-both-worlds situation. General fans of competitive PVP shooters weren't exactly lacking in bigger-budget alternatives in 2016 (the game was delayed from its original intended release date of May 2016 as it happened to be shared by the release of ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}''), ''Resident Evil'' fans greatly rejected another multiplayer entry after the heavy co-op focus of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil5'' and ''[[VideoGame/ResidentEvil6 6]]'' (especially as the more traditional single-player ''VideoGame/ResidentEvil7Biohazard'' was on its way the following year), and in general, the game is mechanically weak, lacks a compelling aesthetic, and minimal single-player content. The game was virtually dead on arrival, peaking at just ''400'' simultaneous players in its first year, and has been largely forgotten.

* AmericansHateTingle: Predictably most people wouldn't like the game's focus on multiplayer as well as little to no plot, not to mention the 2-v-2 multiplayer is heavily restricting. But somehow the game got the equivalent of all-9 score on Famitsu in Japan.
* CriticalDissonance: That being said, even Japanese fans were indifferent and quick to forget this game ever existed, despite Famitsu's review.
* SoBadItsGood: If one want to afford it, the game is a fun Mercenaries offshoot.
