* RecycledScript: The first act plays out like a Bart-centered version of the classic episode "Lisa's Rival," with a new kid (played by the episode's guest star) showing up and [[AlwaysSomeoneBetter beating Bart at his own game]], causing him to become insecure; just as Winona Ryder's Allison was smarter and a better saxophone player than Lisa, Topher Grace's Donny is a wisecracking troublemaker who effortlessly steals Bart's spotlight. As with Allison, these similarities eventually stop being a cause for rivalry and [[BirdsOfAFeather lead to friendship instead]]--but "The Debarted" does all of this within the first third of the episode before rapidly [[HalfwayPlotSwitch taking a different tack]] when we find out that Donny is [[TheMole an agent tasked by Skinner and Chalmers with infiltrating Bart's "operation."]]
