* IdiotPlot: In Son of the Shadows. The entire conflict concerning Niamh and Ciaran's affair and Fionn's abuse of Niamh could have been averted if Conor, Liam and the men had told Ciaran and Niamh from the start that their love was forbidden because Ciaran was her half-uncle. Liadan calls Conor out on this when she realises it.

** Sorcha, due to her unwillingness to give up her quest to break her brothers' curse, even when threatened with death.
** Clodagh can be counted as well as she refuses to give up on Cathal when he is trapped in the Otherworld and risks her life to rescue him from Mac Dara.
