Trying to recap specifically works related to the reviews, not quite Anthony's personal life (and that includes litigation from the FADER incident).

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments: After Anthony closed down THATISTHEPLAN, The Fader published a thinkpiece that accused him of being involved with the alt-right based on [[QuoteMine completely]] [[SarcasmBlind misconstrued]], [[ManipulativeEditing fabricated]], or [[InsaneTrollLogic downright illogical]] allegations, even going as far as to accuse Anthony of laughing along someone he was interviewing who was talking about wanting to commit sexual assault[[note]]As Anthony pointed out, as while the interview said controversial things, Anthony himself was evidently nervous and wasn't comfortable with it '''at all'''[[/note]]. The result? [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UZqIIy7pAk Fantano responds back, calmly but completely deconstructing and wrecking the entire article]]. The best part is the Fader itself a year later would admit the article was terrible and would delete it.

** In light of Fader's infamous article on him, Fantano's fanbase came to his immediate defense, something he took note of and thanked them repeatedly on Twitter, saying he loves them and he was so touched by their dedication to help him after something that almost ruined his career.

** The shutting down of THATISTHEPLAN. Fans were surprisingly upset when Anthony vented his frustrations on Twitter in regards to shutting down the channel due to Youtube's constant demonetization of any video uploaded to the channel and decided to pull the plug. Most of his comedic/non-review retrospective stuff, however, goes to his fantano channel now.
** Related to the above, the website Fader publishing a hatchet job of a hitpiece attempting to paint Anthony as a [[InsaneTrollLogic racist scumbag who used his "thatistheplan" channel to advocate for mass violence against black people]]. While his fanbase jumped to his defense and Anthony made his rebuttal incredibly concise with his response video, the damage was done in certain places, and Anthony lost several contacts (including cancelling an entire spoken-word tour at the last minute) and was unfairly painted in several communities as racist, which he decidedly ''isn't''.
** [[https://twitter.com/theneedledrop/status/906236715869843456 Anthony has admitted a few times on his Twitter]] having suffered from depression, something that occasionally still pops up from time to time. Such moments take a turn for the [[SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments heartwarming]] since his loyal fanbase is always ready to offer him love and support, [[https://twitter.com/theneedledrop/status/1044429598333767680 his gratitude of which he always makes clear]].

I'm commenting out this blurb of albums because not only is this technically a clump of ZCEs, some of these he didn't even pan to begin with (he liked the Silk Sonic album, just didn't love it). Feel free to add more context if you feel it's necessary.

** Anthony's only ever given seven albums a perfect 10, those being Music/DeathGrips' ''The Money Store'' (2012), {{Music/Swans}}' ''To Be Kind'' (2014), Music/KendrickLamar's ''{{Music/To Pimp a Butterfly}}'' (2015), {{Music/Kids See Ghosts}} (2018), Music/{{Daughters}}' ''You Won't Get What You Want'' (2018), Spellling's ''The Turning Wheel'' (2021), and Music/LinguaIgnota's ''Sinner Get Ready'' (2021). Naturally, he gets this reaction ''a lot'', for disliking something or not liking something ''enough'' (giving acclaimed albums a 6 or 7, which is admittedly still a positive score).
** Standouts are his reviews of Childish Gambino's ''Camp'' and ''Because the Internet'', Music/JustinTimberlake's ''The 20/20 Experience,'' Music/KanyeWest's ''Music/MyBeautifulDarkTwistedFantasy'' and ''Music/{{Yeezus}}'', Music/ArcticMonkeys' ''AM'', Music/BringMeTheHorizon's ''Sempiternal'', {{Music/Slowdive}}'s self-titled, Mitski's ''Be the Cowboy'', Isaiah Rashad's ''The House Is Burning'', Music/MacMiller's ''Swimming'' (although [[VindicatedByHistory Anthony would give the album a much more favorable redux review in 2023]]), anything by Music/JCole, Music/PorcupineTree/Music/StevenWilson, Music/{{Opeth}}, or Music/{{Alcest}}. His ''[[Music/FrankOcean Channel Orange]]'', ''Music/CarrieAndLowell'', ''[[Music/{{KendrickLamar}} DAMN.]]'', ''[[Music/DanceGavinDance Instant Gratification]]'', ''[[Music/KaceyMusgraves Golden Hour]]'', ''[[Music/DanceGavinDance Afterburner]]'', ''[[Music/FionaApple Fetch the Bolt Cutters]]'', ''[[{{Music/Deftones}} Ohms]]'', ''[[Music/WolfAlice Blue Weekend]]'', and ''An Evening with Silk Sonic'' reviews also get this a lot.
** Anthony's "These Albums are [=10s=]" series -- an overview of albums from past decades that he would qualify for a perfect score -- naturally ended up getting some heat for not including certain picks. He ended up doing a sub-series addressing why some "classics" weren't quite "perfect" enough in his eyes to earn a 10/10, including Music/MichaelJackson's ''Music/{{Thriller}}'' and Music/TheBeatles' ''Music/SgtPeppersLonelyHeartsClubBand'', which provoked further controversy and debate.

I don't see his "Not Good" series attracting more or less hate than whenever he gives any other album a negative review. Sometimes fans agree with him, sometimes they don't, and I don't see any particular thoughts on the series making that point better or worse than usual for him.

* BrokenBase: His "NOT GOOD" series. It's either one of Anthony's best ideas and allows to him to go into more detail regarding why an album can be horrible in his eyes (e.g. Corey Feldman's album) or it's just an excuse for him to indulge in his biases and bash acts and genres he isn't fond of (as seen from the reception regarding his reviews of Music/Blink182's ''California'' and Music/{{Meshuggah}}'s ''The Violent Sleep of Reason'').
