* SpecialEffectFailure: The horribly stiff Hydra animatronic. Especially embarrassing is when Creator/MickeyHargitay clearly deliberately rolls under its claw, and then tries to act like he's stuck. The bull that Herc kills can be seen breathing after he stabs it, and the blood on its neck is very obviously red paint.
* RootingForTheEmpire: It can be very hard to root for Hercules, given how quickly he forgets about his wife in favour of a big breasted woman he literally just met, who herself can be rather irritating at times. Licos may have killed the woman Hercules was married to and murdered the king in his quest for the throne, but he isn't either of the leads.

* FightSceneFailure: The fight between Hercules and Achelous consists of some half-hearted shoving and a truly hilarious bit where Herc picks his rival up and does a sort of lazy twirl while holding the guy over his head. Achelous doesn't struggle when Herc does this, presumably because Mickey Hargitay would have dropped the man if he'd been moving around too much. Herc then gently sets him down and nudges him into a nearby pile of hay before storming out. This is presented as a life-or-death battle.

* MagnificentBastard: Licos tried to be one, coming up with various schemes to take the throne, looking to discredit Hercules and marry the Queen, and does demonstrate himself to be rather cunning in his plotting, trying to be discreet and avoid any direct connection until he is caught out, at which point he stages a coup. And by all rights, this coup should have worked: he had the loyalty of the military and royal guard, and was facing an army of simple peasants, lead by Hercules, ''supposedly'' the world's strongest man. For some reason, though, he is defeated by the revolt.
