* {{Moe}}: Despite the concept art [[DefiedTrope specifically instructing the animators]] to ''not'' make the Princess a Moe character, she does have her moments, especially her facial expressions when she picks and gives a flower.

* SpiritualSuccessor: Of ''VideoGame/{{Ico}}'' as the main mechanic involves two children HoldingHands -- one of them being pale skinned -- and building a bond of trust with one another. The main differences are that it's the princess who has to guide the prince out and that instead of ''escaping'' the evil queen, they are trying to find the witch.

* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Firefly Diaries and A Rose in the Twilight were pretty games, but this one is absolutely ''gorgeous.'' It's like Creator/StudioGhibli did a collaboration with Creator/{{Vanillaware}}.
* ItsShortSoItSucks: The most common criticism of the game is that it can easily be completed in a single evening. It doesn't help that the Wolf is completely invincible, the areas are short and linear, checkpoints are plentiful, there's only one boss fight and even the collectibles aren't particularly well hidden.
* {{Moe}}: Despite the concept art [[DefiedTrope specifically instructing the animators]] to ''not'' make the Princess a Moe character, she does have her moments, especially her facial expressions when she picks and gives a flower.
* ScrappyMechanic: It doesn't come up very often, but the Princess inexplicably can't pick things up. You have to either smack an object with the Wolf (unless the game decides you can't) or let the prince carry it.
