* AudienceAlienatingEnding: One of the more infamously audacious cases in animation history: the show was cancelled ''one episode'' before the intended finale, so only twelve of the thirteen ghosts were returned to the Chest of Demons. Fans had to wait over ''thirty years'' in real-time for [[WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheCurseOfThe13thGhost a follow-up]], and even that [[RiddleForTheAges raised as many questions as it answered]]. Cue the BrokenBase!

* HilariousInHindsight: In "Me and My Shadow Demon" with the filibuster to dawn Scooby ends the song with the final line "It's time to say goodbye" while holding out the last note as long as he can. This was several years before ''Con te paritro" was written a famous song whose English version is called "Time to Say Goodbye" and where the singer traditionally holds out the last note as long as they can.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: In "It's a Wonderful Scoob", some time after Scooby-Doo goes into a TenMinuteRetirement and Time Slime opened the chest of demons, Vincent Van Ghoul shows him the BadFuture that resulted in it. But would this ''really'' happen if Scooby's decision to quit the gang stuck, or was this all [[TricksterMentor a big illusion created by Van Ghoul specifically]] [[ScareEmStraight to scare Scooby straight]]? Consider the fact that Time Slime wanted to destroy those kids for good (his words), and Scooby's replacement was nowhere to be seen in the Bad Future.
** Bernie Gumsher. In his first appearance he was largely apathetic to anything and everything that went on around him, How would he have changed in the bad future? Or would he have changed at all?

* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: This show is generally agreed to be much better than the earlier "Scrappy Era" outings. Mainly due to Scrappy being [[RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap better received]] here and the interesting premise.

** In a meta sense, Scrappy being missing from the Curse of the Thirteen Ghosts. The writers ''wanted'' to have him in, but Warner Bros, apparently still wary of how the older fans would react, put the kibosh on it. Thus we have an open sequence...but with Scrappy's presence completely expunged. To add insult to injury, when Flim-Flam brings him up in the climax, Velma asks curiously, [[WhamLine "What's a Scrappy?"]]

* HeartwarmingInHindsight: Scrappy shows that he cares about Daphne when she's placed under a sleeping curse; thus making their brother-sister apprentice-mentor relationship in the previous ''WesternAnimation/TheNewScoobyDooMysteries'', fall under this.

** FridgeBrilliance: Scrappy's minor arc in Skoobra Kadoobra. When Daphne gets put into an enchanted sleep, he immediately can tell that something's wrong, as he is in tears about it and sadly asks her to wake up, but is quickly seen focusing on the battle with Maldor later. It was simply just too sad to keep trying slim shots at breaking Maldor's spell and getting a NoSell. We see how emotionally wrecked Shaggy, who was in denial longer, became. Focusing on something else was a coping method.
