* BizarroEpisode: "Goin' Hollywood" - while the episode starts off with Cory, Raven, and Victor going to Hollywood after Cory nabs a bit part in the sitcom "Better Days", this only serves as a minor subplot alongside a bigger story involving the "Better Days" star Ally Parker (Alyson Stoner) trying to fit into public school for the first time. Since the episode focuses on an entirely new set of characters that have no connection with the show and never show up again afterwards, the whole story can come off as a jarring addition. This does have an explanation though: it was meant to be [[PoorlyDisguisedPilot a test pilot]] for a planned Disney Channel sitcom starring Stoner, but since the show never came to be, the episode was left as TheArtifact.

** Cody Linley, better-known as Series/HannahMontana's on-again, off-again love interest Jake Ryan, appeared as Daryl, the leader of a gang of pre-teen punks who encouraged Cory to join them in [[FiveFingerDiscount shoplifting from a junk store]].
** A young David Henrie, better-known as male lead Justin Russo from ''Series/WizardsOfWaverlyPlace'' (and [[Series/HowIMetYourMother Luke Mosby]]), played the recurring role of Cory's friend, Larry.
** Sam from the season one episode "A Dog by Any Other Name" is played by Mike Erwin, who would go on to voice the titular character in ''VideoGame/JakIIRenegade'' and become his official voice actor [[VideoGame/JakAndDaxter in subsequent games]].
** Of course, let's not forget Creator/AshleyEckstein, better known to the fandom as [[Franchise/StarWars Ahsoka Tano]], played Raven's rival Muffy.

* TearJerker:
** In "There Goes the Bride", Raven believing she's going to marry Devon Carter, [[DownerEnding only for it to turn out that he and his family are moving away after his dad and stepmom's wedding]].
** "True Colors" also does this, since it doesn't hide the ugly truth about discrimination. Worse is while the others discuss [[spoiler: Raven's vision of the store owner saying she doesn't hire black people]], Eddie recounts a story about how he was close friends with a white boy who's father forbade him from talking to Eddie due to him being black. When Raven asks what did he do, Eddie quietly says "What ''was'' I suppose to do? I was just a kid!".
*** The worst part is that Eddie [[TheWoobie never blamed his friend and still cared for him in the end]], and it seems likely that this feeling was mutual as the friend in question was, from the sounds of it, bullied and abused by his racist father and, like Eddie, felt unable to do anything about it because of his young age.
** An episode focused on Raven [[spoiler: having a vision that the nerdy artist did a flip-book sketch of her, implying he liked her. Raven herself becomes uncomfortable with this, but decides to help him out in becoming more better-good looking if that was the case. The result is the guy becoming the most eye-appealing student who eventually starts dating afterwards. Raven herself becomes heart broken upon [[MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold learning how much of a sweetheart he is]]...only for the episode's end to reveal Raven's vision was ''him still liking her and thinking she didn't like him back''. Both end the episode with saying the phrase [[{{Irony}} "I guess it just wasn't meant to be."]]]]

They know Raven can't control when her visions occur, or what she sees, but they still mad at her when they humiliate themselves because of her visions.
