This seems to be more Timey Wimey Ball than an alternate character interpretation

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: While the intended explanation is likely that Kira was just too angry and distraught to see that her attempt to assassinate Dukat would have resulted in a GrandfatherParadox -- since if he had died when Kira was young, he wouldn't have lived to tell Kira about his affair with her mother, meaning she'd never have gone back in time to kill him in the first place -- given that she plants the explosive in Dukat's living room (where Meru is) instead of his study (where Dukat actually is) it doesn't seem too far-fetched to imagine that, consciously or otherwise, her actual intention was to kill her mother, with Dukat being a secondary target.
** Had Meru been blamed for Dukat's death, her family, including young Kira, would likely be executed, resulting in another GrandfatherParadox as Kira wouldn't have been alive to travel back to cause this change.
