* ContestedSequel: Of a sort. The initial set of the relaunch (''Avatar'' through roughly ''Worlds of [=DS9=]'') are still heavily praised by a majority of readers. But after the time jump to the period after ''Literature/StarTrekDestiny,'' when the novels are solely written by David R George III, and much of the cast have changed positions or even left the station entirely, you find a much more divided opinion in the fan base of the quality of the novels. While they're technically a unified line, the time jump makes for enough of a dividing line that makes a pretty easy way to simply stop reading where the reader is comfortable.

ymmv can not have examples, only their subitems can

* YourMileageMayVary: The Andorian story arc is quite polarizing. Some readers consider it a highlight of the relaunch, while others have little interest in it. The central Andorian character, Shar, is simultaneously one of the most and least popular characters in the series.
** The fact that the novels continue to insist on the "Andorians have four genders" concept even ''after'' StarTrekEnterprise rather decisively {{Jossed}} the notion certainly did nothing to make it less divisive.
