** Deputy Marnes is an enormously popular supporting character due to his BruiserWithASoftCenter moments, how he is a good {{Foil}} to both Holston and Juliette, and how he is played by Creator/WillPatton.
** Easygoing FriendOnTheForce Hank and highly dependable (both as a friend and an engineer) WrenchWench Shirley are probably the best-liked of the lower levels-dwelling secondary characters.

** Allison and Holston suffer a lot as they have their idyllic view of the Silo stripped away, have their attempts to have a baby sabotaged, and then are torn apart due to cruel misdirections that leave Holston devastated for the next two years.
** Gloria previously had to push away her husband so he could have the family they both wanted after the doctors sabotaged her attempts to get pregnant, has watched her circle of acquaintances get targeted for trying to remember the best things about the outside world, spends a long time in a drugged and imprisoned state, and then learns that her grandnephew and last known relative has been killed because of knowledge she gave his mother.
