* ContestedSequel: Rather "contested adaptation" in this case. Fans are pretty much split down the middle if this one is better then the [=90s=] version or not. The others side hate the some the characterization, find the battles lacking and just don't like the overall tone of this one, feeling it lack the quirky charm of the [=90s=] version.

** In the third season, Hotaru's spirit fading away in front of Chibi-Usa is nearly identical to the end of ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'', complete with disappearing from bottom to top (with her head being the last part of her body to go) and turning into "dust" that blows away. This was two years before that movie premiered.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Usagi's ClingyJealousGirl treatment of Chibi-Usa in the 2nd season makes her seem like she's a complete jerk and her relationship with Mamoru seem completely unhealthy and obsession-based. She spends most of the season with the firm belief Chibi-Usa, a child, is trying to get her man. The fact she accuses Mamoru of trying to score with her for a second time even ''after'' she learns she'll be her future mother only makes it more problematic. The best she does about it is to lock herself in her room and think about how horrible she's been, but then she starts doing it all over again soon enough. This was all from the manga and is meant to be negative, as part of her CharacterDevelopment, but many feel that the development just wasn't worth the unpleasantness Usagi displays.

* WinBackTheCrowd: Season 3 saw a number of changes to the show as it moved from a web series to airing on television (and presumably gained an increased budget in the process). Most notably, the art style was changed and the ConspicuousCG transformation sequences done away with in what may well be a purposeful attempt at addressing fan dissatisfaction with those elements. It seems to be working; fan response to the season's first episode has been positive.
