The following items are not YMMV, and the Magnificient Bastard example needs to be approved by the thread

* AdaptationDistillation: The manga cuts A Lot of the webnovel, but still manages to keep the story where it is headed almost without harm. Since a translation of the light novel is unavailable, here are some 'fluffs' that were omitted from webnovel to manga:
** Noswell's story about his parents were omitted.
** Elia was reduced to a background character.
** The hunt of 'Head-Eater Demon' was skipped to delivering it's fur, and the hunting of Palm Birds, Gordon and Mordon and their confrontation with Gaston over the money were all removed.
** Several of Abel's musings about Mea were omitted.
** Gaston's scouting and employment by Princess Charlotte and the arena fight between Gaston and Brian, until Abel's meeting with Shame were shortened to Gaston cleaning his act, and a plot summery of what Charlotte's candidacy for the throne is about, stating that Gaston will be okay.
* AdaptationInducedPlotHole: Firo's attraction to Abel in the manga was implied to have happened due to him saving her in "that one time". Said "one time" actually happened in the Light Novel, but never in the webnovel nor shown in the manga.

* DarkerAndEdgier: Some of the Light Novel's short stories throws Abel and Sidekick Mea in rather really dangerous situations the webnovel didn't have, but can induce a lot of AdultFear from the reader. The Returning Cold has Mea and Abel, the latter bedridden with a sickness, encountering a WolfInSheepsClothing, who orders his minion to grab Mea while he goes to chop her horns, Mea's Present has Mea walking into the bad part of Lomarn city, and gets scammed out of her money and unknowingly set up to be raped before Abel rescues her, The Queen of Flowers has OOCIsSeriousBusiness Abel shouting at Euris to immediately kill him, after the titular monster grabbed him and was about to drain magic from him, etc.

* MagnificentBastard: [[spoiler: Silfheim, and by extension, Count Julem and his underlings]]. Not only his Evil plan against Kudor and to TakeOverTheWorld almost go without a hitch despite a LOT of variables and the presence of a SpannerInTheWorks included in the plan as well, it also put Kudor's in a frustrating position, [[spoiler: as she has one of the pieces to his plan against her within her grasp, but she IGaveMyWord can't do anything to harm it or it will make her newly appointed "apostle" angry]]!!

* BaseBreakingCharacter: Abel gets a lot of flak for running away from the village and his marriage to Gizel by a sizable portion of the comments on the manga, calling him out for being a coward, breaking his sister's heart, falling back to his previous life's moral standards, and failing to talk it out with his family to hopefully call off the wedding... despite the fact that Abel himself stated how it really feels wrong to him, actually tried to talk to his father to let him see things from his perspective, only for his father to tell him to just 'suck it up, be a man and take it' and rushes the wedding to cut any chance for Abel to escape. Not to mention his sister's creepy obsession with him.

Despite family to hopefully call off the wedding... despite the fact that Abel himself stated how it really feels wrong to him, actually tried to talk to his father to let him see things from his perspective, only for his father to tell him to just 'suck it up, be a man and take it' and rushes the wedding to cut any chance for Abel to escape. Not to mention his sister's creepy obsession with him.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Abel's reaction to his incoming marriage to his sister can be... polarizing. On one hand, he knows from his previous life of the potential risks like birth-defects (which he did try talking his father out of it, but he didn't understand), along with making Gizel grow attached and dependent on him, fearing that his village will strong-arm him into marrying her (which is likely), and IJustWantToBeFree wanting to be free and out of the village. On the other hand, Abel left an abrupt letter explaining how he'd only see his sister as a.. sister and he's sorry about that, and that he'll return after he's gotten married, or Gizel gotten married instead. This could be interpreted the wrong way (and it's implied Gizel crumbled the letter and ignored its content), leading to his sister .
