* HilariousInHindsight: Lister confesses to his crewmates that he once stole the contents of an entire hotel room, bed included. [[Recap/TheSimpsonsS5E20TheBoyWhoKnewTooMuch Homer Simpson]] would later do the exact same thing, except this time it's shown onscreen. Ironically, the only thing he didn't steal in that room was the towels. After being told that everyone takes towels from hotels.

I removed the line "The combined sentence for all of Rimmer's murders is literally over nine thousand". I'm not clear what the context is supposed to be for this line, but it's currently listed under the “Hilarious in Hindsight” section, as a sub point of Lister stealing a hotel room. Unless there’s some way in which a 9000-year sentence became more amusing with later context (which isn’t clear from the description), I don’t believe this belongs here.

* AlternativeJokeInterpretation: When Cat calls the escort boots "Frankenstein's hand-me-downs", does he mean that they look like something [[Literature/{{Frankenstein}} Frankenstein's monster]] would've worn, or is he saying that they're so old Lister's long-deceased cat Frankenstein could've worn them?

* AuthorsSavingThrow: By this stage in the show's run, Rob Grant and Doug Naylor had realized how absurd it was that a lowly and incompetent technician such as Rimmer would have been put in charge of repairing something with the potential to kill the entire crew if it went wrong. Grant and Naylor would have {{retcon}}ned it out entirely if they could, but couldn't think of a way to actually do so without causing major {{Continuity Snarl}}s. They therefore did the next best thing, and established that while Rimmer was ''technically'' responsible for the accident, the real guilty party was whoever assigned him to do the job in the first place (presumably either Captain Hollister or Todhunter).
