* CrowningMomentOfFunny: The famous outtake from the UK version of Fred Harris acting like ThePrimaDonna and screaming "Amateurs! I'm expected to work with ''amateurs''!" ... at ''Big Ted the teddy bear'', who was refusing to sit properly without falling down.
** The statement was "I'm an ''artist''! How can I be expected to work with these ''amateurs'' for God's sake!" (I had access to a copy of ''White Powder Christmas'' on Beta back in the day)

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: Until 1999, the format remained basically the same with 3 windows, 2 different clocks (each with their own theme music) and 2 presenters who, for the majority of the time, would act like they were playing with you, and no-one else. Since 1999, the format has been changed to reflect a more modernized Australia, with both the clocks and three windows option put in storage, and replaced with more computerised equivalents. (The Windows rotating prop that was mentioned at the top was briefly replaced by an animation that showed what Window would be the one that they would be going through.

In 2011, actual windows done in stop-motion were added into the show as part of the rebrand, ending this.
**It happened again in 2017, when the Rocket Clock returned in photorealistic CGI (ending the long-awaited replacement for the Hickey Dickory Clock), the windows were replaced by 3 screens and a film camera (along with calling the footage "clips"). However, older episodes with the 2011-style windows still continue to air.

* TooSoon: One episode had the team using building blocks then knocking them down... on September 12, 2001. This was the first time the show received hate mail from upset parents. To be fair, since the attacks happened at 11:46 PM in East Australian (Canberra) time, most Australians only learned about the attacks in the morning, by which time it was far too late to pull the offending episode (which was taped months in advance like the others) from broadcast that same morning.

** For the record, the attacks started at 11:46pm on September 11 in East Australian(Canberra) time, nearing midnight, while the show (which is recorded months in advance) goes out at fixed times in both the morning and afternoon. Given that most Australians only learn of the attacks the next morning, it would've been far too late to pull the episode from broadcast.

Given that Creator/TheABC operates an affiliate in each state (much like American television) instead of mostly centralized like Creator/TheBBC (broadcasts from London but with one or two localized channels), this meant that most Australians only learn of the attacks the next morning, and it would've been far too late to pull the episode from broadcast.

* NoExportForYou: If you've been getting Playschool by means of TheABC's international feed, Australia Network, the show may have became this to the country you're in come September 2014, when ''Australia Network'' changed it's name to ''Australia Plus TV''. Some Pay TV providers decided to drop the channel and used the name change to wiggle out of renewing their contracts, and then lied to subscribers that the ''Australia Network'' was shutting down. It was either this or the channel temporarily becoming unavailable due to the contracts needing renegotiation from the name change.

* TheScrappy: Hamble in the UK version was hated by both the presenters and the general public. It got to the point where she was even being kicked across the room by disgruntled cast members, which might explain why the Australian version (who had her on loan from the UK) had to retire her some 15 years ago - seeing as she was "beyond repair".
