* ViewerGenderConfusion: Like most depictions of the deity, Nezha here has bangs and {{Odango}} hair which can make a viewer or two mistake him for a girl at first sight. Although in the movie itself, he is shown to have a penis in his birth scene and his OneWingedAngel form has him [[WalkingShirtlessScene fully shirtless]], sport a {{Bishounen}} appearance and a much deeper voice. This is even lampshaded in a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn427ahVvZw crossover promo video]] with ''Animation/MonkeyKingHeroIsBack'' where Liu'er asks Wukong what gender Nezha is before seeing him use a urinal.

* FanPreferredCouple: There are a lot of fans of Nezha/Ao Bing.

* HarsherInHindsight: The ending of this film portrayed Nezha and Ao Bing making peace with one another and dying together as friends at the end. Two years later, another unrelated Nezha film produced by the staff responsible for ''Animation/WhiteSnake2019'' would portray Nezha and Ao Bing's relationship to be more true to the original source material (read:sworn enemies on first sight). Fans of the Nezha/Ao Bing ship in here were no doubt caught off guard by the enmity between the duo over there, usually due to not reading up on the source material or were hoping for a similar outcome in 2021 film.

** Nezha drinks the sea demon's snot to cure the paralysis spell. Only afterwards does he find out he could have applied it externally.
** Nezha, Ao Bing, Taiyi, and Gongbao all get tangled up in a giant ice ball while fighting over the magic brush that helps them escape the painting. The humans observe them fighting in the painting as if it's a pinball game. Finally, they're reduced to Gongbao breathing and Taiyi farting to shift the ball just enough for their apprentices to grab the brush.
