* GrowingTheBeard: Ironically, the final episode is when Steve Whitmire figured this happened, since it focused on one of the characters' personal lives outside of the studio. This would later become the premise for the 2015 series.

** Spamela Hamderson is this due to how she has no personality outside of being a ditzy airhead who's hot. At least [[Series/TheMuppetShow Annie Sue]] was genuinely talented. Probably helping matters (or not) is that her puppeteer, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, would later create Abby Cadabby for ''Series/SesameStreet''.

* VindicatedByHistory: During its original run, the show was a pretty large flop - lasting six episodes in it's original timeslot before a handful of remaining episodes got burned off during the summer. A contractually-obligated second season was ScrewedByTheNetwork and moved to Disney Channel. The show's cancellation is generally seen as the start of the Muppets' AudienceAlienatingEra that they wouldn't recover from till the 2010s. Nowadays, the Muppet fandom '''LOVES''' this show and will easily go to bat for it - some considering [[EvenBetterSequel a better show than]] ''Series/TheMuppetShow''.

* NightmareFuel: An InUniverse example starts off the Creator/HeatherLocklear episode. Locklear enters the studio to find no one greeting her. Turns out, everyone (Clifford, Rizzo, Gonzo, etc.) is hiding in a closet, terrified of Locklear because of the actions of her character on ''Series/MelrosePlace''. The Muppets begin panicking that she will blackmail them, start love triangles, and worse, frame them for murder and have them sent to the electric chair. Locklear has to assure them that she is nothing like her ''Melrose Place'' character.
