Added DiffLines:

* ValuesDissonance: 'Gordo and the Dwarves' now feels very dated. Even at the time its TakeThat at TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons was rather old fashioned, drawing upon the anti-rpg backlash of the early 1980s when gaming was often depicted as essentially a cult but it also treats it as ''obvious'' that girls like Lizzie and Miranda would have zero interest in a nerdy pastime like roleplaying. As of TheNewTens with D&D more popular than ever before, attracting many female gamers and frequently getting praised in the media for encouraging imagination and socialization the episode feels positively prehistoric.

Added DiffLines:

** Four words: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7i6Y8LsIZc8 I! WANT! A! BRA!]]

* HollywoodHomely: Lizzie is implied to be only average looking at best, but anyone with eyes can see she's quite pretty.

* FanPreferredCouple: Doubles as ActorShipping. A lot of fans really wanted to see Lizzie stay together with Aaron Carter, who was briefly in a relationship with Hilary Duff at the time he guest starred. [[http://people.com/celebrity/aaron-carter-says-hilary-duff-is-the-love-of-his-life/ Aaron himself seconded this]].

* ContractualPurity: Not a straight example, but Lalaine (who played Miranda) was unfortunately caught in 2007 with possession of crystal meth. She got better though, and later had it removed from her permanent record after completing a drug treatment program.

Added DiffLines:

* {{Fanon}}: Some fans explain Miranda's conspicuous absence from the latter half of Season 2 by her having her Quinceañera. The only explanations the show and movie give is that she's in Mexico City.

** Co-star Jake Thomas has said that Lizzie McGuire is his favorite show of all time, and would be even if he weren't on it.

Added DiffLines:

* JustHereForGodzilla: A lot of people only watch the series for the animated skits.

* FamilyUnfriendlyAesop: The episode with Lizzie's advice column teaches the often-ignored side effect of bullying. Lizzie tells Veruca to just stand up to the bully - and Veruca then reminds her that "bullies have friends" and those friends gang up on her. Media at the time loved to teach the Aesop that standing up to a bully will automatically make things better, but that is not always the case.

* HarsherInHindsight: In the episode where Gordo gets to go to high school and the girls miss him, Miranda reassures Lizzie "I'm not going anywhere". Lalaine rather infamously disappeared from the show before the finale, Miranda to never be seen again.

* OneSceneWonder: Ethan's stepmother only appears in the murder mystery episode. But she's fantastically ditzy and even makes Ethan look smart.
--> '''Gordo:''' There must be something in the water at Ethan's house.

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Kate, Larry and Claire in Facts of Life. While Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda spent their time learning nothing to prepare them for the Factathalon, the other three did actual studying, recruited a qualified teacher to help them prepare and deservedly won the Factathalon through actual work. But because they're the villains, we're meant to root for the main characters of the show and are expected to find it funny when their trip to Miami goes badly.

* UnintentionallyUnSympathetic: See above. Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda don't put in the actual time and effort to prepare for the Factathalon and in fact don't act all that differently from the way the villains usually behave, going out of their way to taunt them, Lizzie and Miranda pressuring Gordo to help them win despite the fact he's already stressed out from his usual workload and Miranda PULLING THE FIRE ALARM in the middle of the competition.
